All these time skip redesigns and now I have the urge but no motivation to do redesigns for my own ocs. I guess I can at least give some confirmation for designs I’m thinking of for them...

Kaede, still the co-lieutenant of second, would have a big change. She would have swapped her white obi for a dark orange tied with a purple cord. She’d wear detached black sleeves and thigh-high boots tied in the back with purple cords. She’d have also added a deep purple hip-length haori. Her shihakusho is still a halter one piece and she would still wear her badge on her right thigh.

Chinatsu, lieutenant of eighth now (separate verse from Yuyu Yayahara), still wears the standard shihakusho. She has swapped the purple obi for a rose-colored obi with gold trim. Her long curly hair is now styled in bun with a new gold hairpin with a bird of paradise design.

Amaterasu, lieutenant of seventh after Tetsuzaemon’s promotion (again separate verse of canon), has a sleeve of intricate tattoos on each arm and an extension of her back tattoo onto her chest. Her hair is now tied in a high ponytail with a small braid on the left side. She still wears the same green obi and standard shihakusho.

Minako, still the twelfth’s eighth seat, has the smallest change. Her hair is now a chin-length bob of wavy hair. Her ears are also now pointed and elf-like, a result of experimentation.

below are some demon slayer spoilers if you don’t read the manga, but it’s time to finally rant about chinatsu!!

i have this image in my head of a demon who knew chinatsu while she was still “ kazane ” confronting her during the infinity castle arc, and she’s already human bc you know what?? voluntary guinea pig for the lil antidote!! but the demon is taunting her of course, spouting some mess that there’s no way she’ll survive this fight/be able to scratch them now that she’s a weak ass human; they’re just trash talking up a storm bc surely she’s gone all soft and squishy now, and chinatsu just : ) goes absolutely feral : )) like “ oh really?? you think i was ruthless bc i was a demon?? that my ferocity was bc of me being a demon?? GUESS AGAIN " bc she was always like that -- she was always coolheaded, but she was also very much the kind to be absolutely brutal to her opponent, to lack mercy no matter who she was fighting bc either A. you were a demon and you had to die, or B. you were a comrade training with her, and how could you improve if she went easy on you?

becoming a demon, while altering her overall personality, did not alter the way chinatsu fought bc that quality was useful. she was just forced to redirect her ruthlessness towards humans and stripped of the snarky personality that muzan would have probably hated when they first met as enemies.

and fighting against the demons in the infinity castle, fighting alongside her fellow slayers as a human again, probably feels so!! cathartic!! but chinatsu is also seething and a lil vengeful bc this bitch really almost ruined her life and took her sister and brother in law from her, stole precious years away that she could have spent with them before the end, so you bet she’s out for blood and gunning for muzan. of course she’ll stop when she sees someone needs a helping hand, but i feel like this is the one time chinatsu actually lets her anger cloud her judgement a little.

but she definitely survives the last stretch of events bc guess what!! she deserves to be happy!! and guess what else!! she watches over amane and kaguya’s kids like a good aunt and while it’s bittersweet, at least they have each other :’ ))))

the least meme-y?? probably chinatsu bc she doesn’t spend a lot of time on the internet in her free time. she has some knowledge, but she doesn’t actively use them.

More like a small reminder; even though she’s ranked a lieutenant, she does have the strength of a captain. Her reiatsu, graciously inherited by Genryuusai, is on par though not nearly as global as his. Instead it’s much more concentrated around herself, like a sun. The closer in proximity one is to her, the greater heat exudes from her being.

Also lovely reminder that use of her bankai is prohibited within the Soul Society and World of Living given its destruction. The spirit of Kosho Taiyo is also ill-advised to roam outside his inner world, as he exudes an intense heat.

However, despite all the incredible strength and ability, Chinatsu can be very humble about it. Yes she finds pride in it, but there really isn’t much reason for her to flaunt. Though she’s not opposed to taking on challenges by others. Hell, her favorite spars come from Kenpachi.

GODDESS OF:   The rising sun & morning sky, of dawn. Deity of generally the sun, and also a deity of marriage. She is also linked to rulers, monarchs and empires

Her most sacred color is white, so a white candle is ideal for her alters. The summer solstice should be celebrated with plenty of red wine and a feast.

Don’t Sit Still, Don’t Just Look Pretty || Chinatsu

“Papa, papa!”

The stoicism of a younger Shigekuni turned his attention to the girl as she bounded forward. There was a pep in her step, her features softer but undoubtedly his. She appeared to smile, with news that made her eyes sparkle. He grumbled, but honestly it was a mask, as she indeed perked his entire interest.

“Papa, I just saw a lion!”

There was a skeptic arch of a large brow. “A lion? And where’d you see such a creature?”

Her red eyes shone, a grin wide. “It was sitting on this biiiig throne, inside a castle. Almost like a real king!” Like the Soul King is what she wanted to compare it to. “It had a flaming mane; fire like your Ryūjin Jakka.”

The man’s zanpakutō was spoken of with such familiarity. Though the big lion’s regal mane felt more like a sun, rather than simply a flaming inferno. But to such an impressionable girl, it was all the same. To her stern father, it was a prideful moment... to share such a similarity, he cleared back a smile.

His hand instead patted her head, flattening her hair. “Oh? And did you talk to it?”

Well now the small Chinatsu frowned. There was disappointment as she shook her head, willing her father’s hand off as well. “No... I couldn’t hear him. The fire was too loud!” There was a frustrated puff of her cheeks, an utterly childish pout on her expression. How was she supposed to talk when she couldn’t hear it? At least she assumed it had been talking to her, and not just puffing some petty roar at her.

That proud gleam had faltered into a sympathetic frown. Still it was a great achievement, at such a young age.

“Next time, listen carefully.”

So I kind of wanted to go further into Chinatsu’s love life, or lack of, and honestly delve a little into possible and absolute no ships for her.

So first and foremost, Chinatsu is not into younger men. She prefers someone close to her age or older. This is partly because she believes most younger men, especially those she’s seen in the Gotei 13, are too immature. There’s a belief they’d mostly see her as some weird milf kink and would find her more as some sex object than a potential wife. Not to mention, the ones within the Gotei 13 she finds are shinigami for some kind of glory.

Unfortunately, this makes her pool rather small and tamed.

Zaraki is the first one off the table. As some things are played off the headcannon he’s potentially Genryusai’s bastard son (via @kenpxchi​‘s headcannon), this would make them half-siblings. Not that either are aware of this fact. Nonetheless, whether they’re related or not, she finds no attraction to such a brute. He’s fight-ready with a simple mind.

Next up is Sasakibe. Perhaps the perfect man; chivalrous, respectable, and loyal. Yet he’s her father’s sworn sword and their relationship grew into a familial one. He’s much an uncle-figure to her, thus counts him out.

Shunsui and Juushirou are both one and the same for her. Again, she grew up around them. To her, they’re family, like older brothers. To entertain the idea she’d pursue either man is ridiculous to her. Not to mention, Shunsui’s lay back attitude clashes much with her own uptight persona. While Juushirou is sweet, his health caused her so much concern.

So then what about the Royal Guard’s Ichibe and Tenjiro?

Ichibe is a hard no. His presence unsettles her; and this is coming from someone with the Yamamoto name.

So then Tenjiro... A maybe, with a leaning yes if he was interested. There’s this idea that perhaps the two grew up together. Possibly not as friends, but with the reputation Genryusai garnered, they at least knew each other as children or their younger years. I’d like to say at least Chinatsu always had some strange interest him, but it’s unrequited.

I want to take this moment to state; Chinatsu is a pretty gray character. To me, she’s the walking definition of the sin pride.

A little bit more background on Chinatsu; she was the heiress of her family, and the only known child of Genryusai. Needless to say, she was spoiled to some degree, mostly by her parents and family. This brought up an arrogant nature in the future clan head. Surely her father tried to humble her attitude, but, with the inheritance of his stubbornness, it is a difficult habit to be broken.

After Genryusai failed to kill Yhwach a thousand years ago, she witnessed a notable change in her father. With this, she too began to feel settled down. Thus two hundred years she’d follow her mother’s request to marry and continue their bloodline. Surprisingly, she was much more humble during that short time-- a quick transition to a happy bride and dedicated wife. Of course, it didn’t last long, as her husband seemed to test her patience and stain her reputation. So the rage and humiliation rose yet again a defiant and prideful Chinatsu.

After this, she held her haughty in the public eye, sort of as a defensive measure to save her own reputation. The only other events to chasten her attitude was the death of her mother, then later Genryusai, along with Sasakibe and Ukitake.

Nowadays, she’s still very stubborn, especially to certain changes. While she understands a need for change and progressiveness, she still values tradition and some old ways. If anyone ever cares to listen, she’s got some very mixed, but loud opinions of visoreds, Kisuke and Tessai’s cooperation and both groups’ repealed exile, the alliance with the espada, the temporary alliance with the ex-sternritters, and still has some words about Ichigo himself.

I mean... she also has things to say about Mayuri and the twelfth division as a whole, but that’s another story.

But it should also be said, she’s still loyal to Shunsui, and respects his decisions as the new commander. Doesn’t mean she always agrees with them though.

So now that I’ve finally got something up for my girl, guess I have no excuse to not do her attire headcannon.

Anyways! First and foremost are her undergarments, the base of any outfit. It should be noted that Chinatsu is traditional, though with some modern and feminist ideals. Originally fundoshi is reserved for men, but she will wear them more often than any modern underwear while in a shihakusho. In a yukata or kimono, she will opt for the more traditional koshimaki. Her upper undergarments is a modified Chinese dudou; an extra string where the underside of her breast rest, allowing for it to act as some kind of bra without actually binding her chest.

Her most worn outfit is the stanrdard shihakusho. Starting from the bottom layers up, this consist of white shitagi, a pair of white tabi, and a black kosode and hakama. She has add her own personal touch however-- including a wide purple obi rather than the usual white one, and she wears a modified version of okobo in place of waraji. These okobo she wears have a red thong along with red ribbon for her to lace them up her ankle for security.

The next is her everyday yukata, to which she owns two; a dark green one with yellow flowers or a lilac-colored with willow branches. Both are worn with the same dull yellow and jade-colored obi. Outside her home, she pairs them with her signature okobo, or will opt for a more sensible pair of zori. In the colder months, she will layer herself with a thick-woven deep purple haori, which is also worn with her shihakusho sometimes. For extra warmth, she’ll even use a rabbit fur scarf.

She also a fancier kimono, but it’s only ever worn for formal gatherings, as it has an abundance of layers. Starting from the bottom is the white nagajuban with a floral-patterned collar, and a red-stripped datejima. Then next is a red hiyoku that is patterned with sakura-shaped petals and flowers. The actual kimono is a deep, rich purple with an intricate sun pattern of golds and reds. Then finally is the obi, which matches the kimono’s pattern and color. It is tied a subtle knot, symbolic of her age and maturity. Around the obi is often a a bright red obijime. Both the kimono and obi are made of a soft silk.

Her hair style changes, depending upon her outfit. In a shihakusho, it is half-up in a tight bun, sometimes braided if she’s feels up to it. She wears many different accessories in it, including a gold pin and a purple cord tied in a bow. At home, she can be found with her hair completely pulled up, pinned in place with that notable gold pin. Meanwhile, her kimono and formal hairstyle is much more intricately done up. Her whole hair is pinned and arranged up, with multiple accessories including; her gold pin, another gold pin with hanging baubles, a gold comb, and two clips on either side with pink and yellow flowers.

Though it’s often covered by her hair, she does wear a set of dangling gold earrings.

She does wear makeup almost on a daily basis; the only exception being on her days off at home. This includes a black eyeliner and mascara, some kind of subtle blush to her cheeks, red shadow at the corner of her eyes, and a bright red to her lips. In her formal wear, there’s obviously a lot more effort put into her face, including her entire face painted white and her brows lined and thickened.

A quick fact that Chinatsu will not use her bankai, nor is she allowed to unless necessary. See Yoake no Dai Honō’s ability is highly destructive. So it is only fitting that she be limited from this power while within the Soul Society and the Human World.

So little thing about Chinatsu’s reiatsu. It’s very similar to Genryusai’s in that it is an elemental representative of fire. It can even appear as such, the same with her bankai. However, unlike her old man, it’s not nearly as strong. While it is fire, it will not burn things or even set fire as Genryusai’s does. Instead, it acts more like a summer sun, able to cause heat stroke and drought in her immediate surrounding, and make the air stifling.
