Correct me if I'm wrong cause I've never read Jttw, but I'm like 80% sure Wukong doesn't really act on romantic interests. Like I'm pretty sure he's not exactly food with romantic cues.

In fanfiction sometimes I see like a Wukong that's alot more confident in romance and actively pursues his partner. (A good chunk if the time it's Macaque)

Which is cool! Having Wukong be more active with romance is a cool concept and most fics are a good read!

Cause like, if he doesn't have that much experience with romance then why would he know how to do that stuff?

I only wrote this cause I remember a post I saw that someone made about Wukong doesn't really act on romance and that logistically he wouldn't know how to kiss or be the way he is in some fanfiction.

(You could also headcannon him as AroAce. No shame, I headcanon him as Demiromantic purely because I am and I want more Demiromantic characters.)

about the fic: gn!reader × dazai, both romantic and platonic. not sure in what category to put this in, its gonna be fluff with some angst sprinkled on top i guess?

dazai hcs:

i feel like he wouldn't be that big on dating and relationships, mostly because he doesn't trust people easily.

so, on that note you might have to know him for a while. maybe since he was still in the port mafia/from the dark era.

but, if you did somehow manage to end up with him, i think things can go one or two ways.

first: (in which we say he probably knows you for a while and trusts you enough) i think he would be more careful(?) with you if he trusts you. i think he would still be teasing and stuff, but he does care about you and it shows. i feel like he would also definitely be more loyal if he knows and trusts you, though dazai might still flirt with some other people for no reason other than to get you a little bit jealous, but it means nothing. he just wants a reaction out of you.

second: (if he doesn't know you for that long) so i have mixed feelings on this. dazai is a bit of a womaniser, so i wouldn't be surprised if he would flirt with other people when he's in a relationship with you, especially if he didn't know you for long. i feel like he might be a bit more manipulative and straight up use you for his needs, whether it is emotional or physical.

i think trust=care/love for dazai, so if he doesn't trust you that much, he probably doesn't care about you that much either.

dazai id definitely touch starved, i bet he loves to cuddle, hold hands or just feel you lean your head on his shoulder or something, since it reminds him you're there and he's not alone anymore.

i think he might ask you to help him out with his bandages once he trusts you enough, if you do it once, expect him to ask you again.. and again. he feels safe in your arms, can you blame him?

i think he would genuinely melt on the inside if you remember small things about him. for exemple: you hear him talking about some food/sweet that he likes one day and then you bring it to him the next. dazai will literally be so happy, since wow. you actually care enough about him to pay attention to things he does or say even if it didn't actually involve you? he's honoured.

if you work in the ada too, he will definitely ask you for help. not that he actually needs it, he can perfectly do his work on his own. but its way better to ask you for help, why? because not only does he get help on his work, but he also gets to spend some extra time with you! what can be better than that?

dazai will definitely love to play small pranks or whatever with you.

when you tell him you're anxious or insecure about something, i feel like hed start to compliment you from head to toe, because how dare you think lowly of yourself?

another more angsty thing, but i think he will have periods of time where he isolates himself from you (and mostly everyone else too). its nothing personal, he just has moments where he feels like shit (depressive episodes) but he will definitely really appreciate it if you came by to check on him. maybe just to see how he's doing, or to bring him some food or sweets or anything.. he would also really appreciate it if you help him clean his depression room, since it can get really messy.

dazai absolutely loves it when you dress up and stuff, will hype you up too. it doesn't matter if you're actually going somewhere fancy or its just you dressing up (since you're part of a subculture maybe), he's gonna be giving you compliments the whole time.

give him little gifts, like hand made necklaces or bracelets, maybe some hand written notes/letters or maybe a little drawing/doodle you made of him. he'll keep them forever.
