wowza this was supposed to be like a paragraph long yikes anyways A lil story using @justmwahstruly zombie WH au, because our ocs kiss kiss fell in love/j. This is better read with some context so check out Mwah's post, here! Also I don't write at all so don't mind all the mistakes -🕯 tw:: small description of violence

Molly had a tough day at work, an annoying group of teenage customers, near the end of her shift, who didn't seem to understand the difference between sentient zombies, and feral zombies ready to bite and attack. They weren't even quiet about their opinion, loudly talking and side eyeing the diner staff, only shutting up when the staff came near, despite the fact that the staff could clearly hear them from behind the counter. Molly was irked that she even had to serve these people, but she had a job to do and she did it well. Despite this the group sneered at the food saying it was disgusting. That was a total lie, Julie/Howdy was a great cook, for both the living and the undead. 

It's fine though. Because this was the last few minutes of her shift and she was off after this, she could cool down and take a break. Yet despite this, she clocked out finding herself unable to stop thinking about the insensitive group,  who seemed to belittle the people who lost so much against their will due to the outbreak. Perhaps it was just muscle memory that led her to Flint's apartment, too zoned out to even register Flint letting her in, nor the fact that he was leading her into his home, his hand in hers. Flint saw quite easily that she was upset. 

And what followed next was an accident, a mistake, whatever you'd like to call it. Molly hadn't been able to stop thinking about the stupid act of discrimination and her emotions got the best of her. It was just for a few minutes, just a few simple minutes that Molly had gone feral. She didn't register Flint as a person she was close to, instead he was just a target at that point I suppose. Her nails dig into Flint's pale flesh, dragging down and leaving deep scratches. Maybe he should have left Molly alone, he has seen she was some sort of upset, maybe wanted to be left alone. Unfortunately Flint was not that kind of person. When Molly "came back to" she had enthusiastically greeted Flint, not even questioning how she made it to his apartment.  And he hadn't meant to do it, yet he really couldn't help it. When Molly reached out to him he flinched back, panicked eyes flickering over Molly's figure.

It took Molly a few seconds to realize what had happened. Even longer for Flint to calm down and realize Molly was no longer feral. Yet the fear still lingered, something Flint despised.  Both felt horrible, and both had left things unsettled that day as Molly had excused herself, saying she had something to deal with. The strange awkwardness went on for the rest of the week, Flint's appearance at the diner started to slow,  and Molly had not stepped a foot into Flint's housing department again since that day. 

Flint missed Molly, wanted to tell her it was okay. Things happen, he worked with kids, had his unfortunate fair share of sentients going feral. He understood it just couldn't be stopped sometimes, and he could never hold it against Molly. When he had tried to grab Molly's hand she snatched it back, eyes glancing at the nearly healed scratch marks on Flint's face. Was she scared of hurting him again? With a sharp inhale Flint grabbed Molly's hands with his own shaky hands. His grip careful as he led Molly's hands to his cheeks, even like this he leaned into her touch. He still trusted her, this time there was no slight tremble in his face, instead it was replaced by a steady stare and he fumbled over his words, trying to assure Molly that it was okay, that he's safe and he never blamed her, and his fear had just got the best of him at the moment.

I saw your post about NPC pairings!! I really like the idea of Sam and Emily as a pairing. One loves to play music, one loves to dance. They’re both high-energy and quirky in their own ways! I would love to see a list of headcanons for them, platonic or romantic! Exploring the dynamics between the NPCs is so much fun!

Sam & Emily headcanons

Emily only brings Sam root beers on the nights when he plays pool at the Saloon. He doesn't really drink, and he wants to be on top of his game. He still fails. Emily added a scoop of vanilla ice cream at the end of the night to cheer him up. 😋 🍦

Emily's parrot gets loose once and Sam notices it while he's out boarding. 🦜 He goes out of his way to rescue the bird, endearing himself to Em.

Sam once asked Emily to watch Vincent in a pinch. His mom was gone and he needed to get to work. She, of course, agreed and proceeded to pull out a big chest of costumes to play dress up with Vincent (and they had a blast). She had to make adjustments so the clothes could fit the little boy. This inspired Sam to ask Emily for help making his Spirit's Eve costume. 🎃

Emily twisted her ankle at the Luau one time, dancing on the beach. Sam gave her a piggy back ride home. 🌴 💃

Sometimes they close the place down, trying to beat the next level of the arcade games 🕹 🎮 at the Saloon. Emily is surprisingly competitive but it's all in good fun!

Jodi always cooks a feast for her growing boys. Sometimes Sam brings leftovers to the lovely neighbor girls. Haley doesn't like cooking and she's picky and Emily doesn't always have time between work and her projects. Emily always appreciates a hot meal (even if it's lukewarm by the time Sam remembers to bring it by). She doesn't mind because it's an excuse to enjoy his warm smiles. 😀 🍽

Jodi isn't great at sewing. When Sam rips his jeans or cargo shorts again trying to do an epic kick flip, he brings his pants to Emily to fix. She is a bit flighty too, but Sam always forgives her absent-mindedness. He's that way too. 🪡 🧵 And she sometimes stitches something in a fun color.

These two always volunteer to host face painting 🎨 at the Stardew Fair. Often there's more paint on their hands and ears and arms and clothes than their actual faces. Usually because they're laughing and teasing each other too much. 😏

Emily would teach a yoga/meditation class 🧘‍♀️ 🧘‍♂️ after the Community Center is renovated. And Sam is her enthusiastic first participant. Of course, he has the hardest time sitting still, but he would try for Emily.

They would build the best sandcastles on the beach. ⛱️ 🏰 I'm talking EPIC! Maybe even would challenge others to a contest.

Once Sam starts working at the movie 🎬 theater, he would always make sure they stock items for kale smoothies. He might hate the "green stuff" but he knows how much Emily loves it. 💚 For a "first date," he'd use his employee discount and take Emily to her favorite movie.

Sam doesn't like venturing in the mines, but he would commission someone to keep an eye out for Emily's favorite gemstones. Then he would find a craftsman to turn it into a pretty necklace or bracelet or pair of earrings (not Clint). Even if it meant saving his pay for months... it's worth it to make her happy. 💎

Sam would totally invite Emily to join his DnD circle. 🎲 She would make an awesome elf, I think! Even if it takes her a bit to learn the rules. Sam is a surprisingly patient and enthusiastic teacher.

Cloud gazing and picking out fun shapes in the clouds ⛅️ would be a fun shared experience. Was that a mermaid floating by? 🧜‍♀️ 🧜‍♂️ Or a fire truck? 🚒

Emily would regularly give Sam a tarot readings. She would give him little crystals and beads 🔮 for positive energies, which he would keep in his pockets. And pull out the Ouija board every October. And he would be totally into it. 👍

She would be in the front row dancing and cheering at every one of his concerts. 🎸 And she would encourage Sam to pursue his music. 🎶 It's a beautiful dream and she would fully support him! ❤️ And Sam would work hard so Emily could spend more time making clothes, her real passion. 👕 👗 🥻 👚

Their home would be vibrant - full of color, music, and life. 🏡 A beautiful, messy, and sometimes chaotic space, but you can feel the love when you walk inside. It's so uniquely them. ❤️ 💙 💛

🍽️ and 🎁 with SwaDric :3?

I'm gonna start with the gift one cuz I actually already have ideas about it-

🎁 - What present would you get your f/o? What do they get you?

For starters: Swann is bad at gifts (I have a mini comic idea about it). If he doesn't get explicitly told what to give, they're lost. But, he's also a fiber artist, so they tend to try to create stuff instead of buying already made items.

I have in mind 2 gifts that Swann made for Cedric:

1- he crocheted a whole new robe, with a lot of decorative details. It took so long to make-

2-This is a bit dumb and I have no idea if Cedric would actually like it, but: after officially dating for a while, Swann made a tiny doll of himself and offered him to Cedric. Why? Simply to keep him company when the real Swann is away on missions (they can be away for a few weeks sometimes).

Also, later, probably a raven plushie?

As for Cedric, he often gives pretty stones he finds when getting ingredients for his potions, pretty feathers, flowers... As well as jewlery (sometimes he creates those with magic) and books!!

🍽 - What would your ideal dinner date with your f/o look like?

So this is where I'm gonna create something on the spot and it's gonna take a moment x) Sorry I'm slow-

I'd say, they would start by making the dinner together, even though Cedric will do most of it. Swann likes to cook, but isn't as good as him (and will try to get a taste of the ingredients while helping).

For the dinner in itself, Cedric would probably set up some kind of romantic ambiance, with candles and flowers. Simple but efficient!!

Tbh, Cedric is making things way more fancier than Swann is used to. Swann is always a bit intimidated by that, even during the relationship, but is also always excited about it.

I'm not sure about what the food in itself would be? But Cedric is a great cook so whatever it is, it's always amazing!!

After that... I like to think they would go on a little stroll in the castle's garden, or at the beach (where the trolls used to be hidden, so near the castle). Probably ending the thing by stargazing a while, before coming back to the tower

🩺 Xu is a romantic, determined, and caring. But he is a doctor at the end of the day and so he’s very logical. When you mention something that you are insecure about he just mentions the scientific reasoning as to why it’s there. Which at times is not the correct response but he’s a logical man.

🩺 But Xu after time will come to realize that sometimes a doctor approach isn’t what’s needed but rather an emotional connection which made him pick up psychology books to help. He’s trying his best! hes determined to understand the inner workings of your mind to to give you the best support possible!

🩺 He may not be perfect at fully easing your mind but you’ll learn new stuff about yourself as soon enough he’ll know you better than you know yourself.

Nora

⛪️ she’s very quick to notice if you are feeling insecure about anything. Especially your body.

⛪️ she tread carefully around it as she doesn’t want to trigger any negative reactions. She’s patient in waiting for the right moment to ask if you are okay.

⛪️ after telling her about your insecurities she’s place her hands on your cheek as she leans close to your face and say ‘I know my words cant heal, but to me you’re perfect. I don’t want anything about you to change but I’ll help the best I can to make you more comfortable’.

⛪️ after knowing your insecurities she’d try her best to not being a lot of attention to them, but at the same time would try to hype you up and remind you that you are a beautiful person.

⛪️ when alone and in a safe place she’d tell you that you can talk to her about any problem, any insecurities, and any negative thought you had, but only when you were ready. She wants to be there for you, and being next to you always brought out her warmest smile and gentle words of reassurance.

Oaks

🦙oaks isn’t the brightest one around. He may be kind but kindness and being able to read the room are two different things!

🦙any insecurity you tell him he’d question you on why you had it. If you told him you had some insecurities on your thighs, he’d squeeze your thigh and say he likes your thighs as they are, so why be insecure about them.

🦙when you tell him you’re feeling down he’ll try to find you some great trash soda! It wasn’t opened and it was a great flavor! His favorite if he couldn’t find your favorite. Yeah it expired two days ago but you’ll be fine!

🦙at times you can catch him asking the llamas what he could do to make you see yourself the way he sees you. But you don’t have a lot of time to feel the warmth of his care as the llamas beat him up shortly after he asks them the question.

🦙oaks doesn’t always get the words right, but his actions speak enough on showing he cares.

Sonia

🍽 Sonia is actually very easy to be able to spot any discomfort/insecurities you may have. Especially since she too has quite a bit of insecurities herself. She’s able to pick up on the sublet movement one does when trying to hide.

🍽 even though she has her own insecurities she masks them very well by putting on a strong and blunt mask. She’d ask you about them directly. She hates the feeling and the loneliness it gives you so she doesn’t want you to have to go through it.

🍽 even when you try to tell her it’s nothing she’d call your bluff. She’d tell you how she knows because your actions remind her of her own. Sonia knows what it’s like to want to be perfect in a world where perfection doesn’t exist.

🍽 she’d cry with you and push for the both of you to be each other’s clutch and support system.

Sam

🥊 Sam is the Jack of all trades. She can do so much yet she chooses to stay in Portia even when she didn’t have to. She could have been promoted and left yet Sam didn’t feel the need to prove herself. A rare fate so little people have. Content within everything in her life

🥊 and so she does and doesn’t understand when you tell her of your insecurities. She understands your feeling but also doesn’t as she overcame every obstacle in her way. With that she has to remind herself that you are not her.

🥊 she’d listen to everything you have to say and try to make you feel better about yourself, but normally it’d just be her saying to go out and spend time together. Let’s do something to help get your mind off of it! For you to focus in on her and for you to let her care for you.

🥊 she’d gift you your favorite food, and try to keep you active enough where your mind won’t have time to give you negative thoughts.

Aadit

🧸 Aadit is quick to notice you pulling and the end of your shirt. Though he would have no problem finding the right words to ask you what’s wrong. He’d just scoop you up and tightly hold you close to him. Why ask when he already knows something is wrong. You’ll tell him when you’re ready.

🧸 he doesn’t really ever verbally bring up times he felt you were having a struggle, as he was a physical guy. He wanted his body to soothe you. For you to physically know he was there for you.

🧸the warmth and love from both your bodies keeping each other warm is the best medication for any doubt, insecurities or negative thoughts.

🧸but he’d be lying saying he only did this for you, as you also aided in soothing his mind and fears as well

🧸aside of physical touch of support he’d also leave you random notes on your stuff with loving words and gifts.

Week 5 Blog Post

Hello everyone happy thanksgiving I hope you all had a great feast ..🦃🍁🍃🍂🍽

After I watched “ The Legal Side of the Big Data,” I’ve learned about certain issues I was not aware of and was shocked that the big data to be hacked or compromised is a scary thing. I do believe that it is very important for each company to have their businesses secured but however it does happen more often than we think and it’s hard to stop it if we don’t know where it’s coming from. I do remember when target got hacked they sent me an email luckily I was not affected. But the companies to be ahead of the problem and yes get the most high tech expensive devices to catch all these hackers and prepare themselves for something unexpectedly to happen and have to be well prepare all teams have the full support and knowledge. Us as consumers it is a bit hard to prevent from happening. It is just scary it makes want to think not to have no phone or no devices but even in paper like doctors can get back from patients that’s even more crazy we are not safe that’s how I see it we just have to protect all our personal stuff and don’t open something good to be true because that’s what the hackers do they manipulate you in some way to get you interested to open link. So be careful ! The businesses should be aware of when using big data would be to use big data applications like automation, the big data has the potential to improve internal efficiencies and operations through robotic process automation. Have a faster better decision making, have an experienced big data team, and identifying end goals. So I think consumers should be aware of and what the marketers need to know their customers tastes, social media behavior, browsing behavior search preferences as well as their hobbies so understanding the consumer but at the same time to protect them from data privacy, data security and data discrimination. The best way to balance the opportunities and threats presented by the development of big data would be to manage the risks and rewards like the leverage previously untapped sources of information and organizations needed to quickly adapt to the opportunities and risks represented by these news. How we can overcome the challenges of big data would be to manage big data growth like storage technology to structure the big data. Deduplication technology to get rid of extra data that is wasting space and money. Business intelligence technology to help analyze data to discover patterns and provide insights. After reading “The Internet’s Original Sin” and watching Maciej Ceglowski’s talk, how the internet business models influence surveillance and data gathering on the internet he had listed some interesting and frightening facts about the internet and data he have stated that everything we type or click it doesn’t go away or deleted and how all the information that we created are stored in centralized place and available to access to anyone. It’s crazy to even think that while I am typing this 🤭the information movement is like a spiderweb and eventually it goes to the middle of the web. Such as to bad people and government accessing our information which is crazy how Celglowski mentions how advertisements could reach this information and lure in people. I now understand how much influence the internet business model affects surveillance and data gathering. According to the article Of original sin some points that Zuckerman mentions in the presentation states how the model today. He also mentioned how hard and virtually impossible to find a way to make money without conceding to advertisements. Zuxkerman has mention he will get away from the ad- based business model and work on a better website to build. Great information I learn was very shocked and scary.
