“Could you or anyone explain to me in very simple terms why the death penalty is even being considered? He was neither caught there nor is he currently in a state that enforces the death penalty. (?!) i don’t live in the U.S., so I don’t understand the legal system.”
They are trying to use the fact that he’s not from NYC to make it a federal offence. He has murder charges in one state, possession charges in another. These are separate charges that logically should not be linked together. “Stalking” is a desperate attempt to make this a crime that spanned across state lines to make him eligible for the harshest punishment there is, which is federal. NY does not have the DP, so Fed is their only option to kill him.
I’m going to refer the Kohberger case again, a quadruple murder where state lines actually were crossed by the killer (a lot of people don’t realise Kohberger lived in WA, and crossed over to ID to kill, and actually had done the stalking they’re accusing Luigi of.) However, Idaho has the death penalty, which the prosecutors are seeking, so Kohberger is not being charged federally even though he qualifies.
They are doing the same to Payton Gendron, who murdered 10 people in a racially motivated shooting in Buffalo, NY. He has already been sentenced to LWOP for terrorism and hate crimes on a state level, but the Feds are spending millions on a death eligible trial for an already sentenced man because they want to execute him. They know he’s never leaving prison, and that’s not enough because they want to kill him. They’re now doing the same to Luigi.
I was in two minds whether the DP threat was simply to twist his arm into accepting LWOP without a trial, but based on KFA’s obvious anger I now believe their intention is to take his life.
Wrt why Trump is so hell bent on this, well most of his cronies are billionaire CEOs. He is a CEO himself. This is also his second term so he doesn’t give a fuck about pleasing anyone, and if he does get a third term it won’t be through a constitutional process so again pleasing people is not a priority.

thank you for the legal explanation anon!!
#also this is why i try not to answer asks when shocking news drops#i tend to give the emotional response first even though i know there's a more logical legal answer to give oftentimes#for that ask i was debating whether i should keep the ask and answer with the difference between the federal and the state levels#or whether i should just answer why but not the how legally#i did what i felt was needed then so yeah thanks for the explanation i'd have forgotten to answer the question legally after all that#also i'm curious to know why you believed that they were using the death penalty thing to essentially manipulate him into a plea deal#since it was very clear from the beginning that they want his head and KFA had made that pretty clear too#honestly if you thought that was just manipulation i have to say you're very american too like y'all really don't understand the gravity of#a lot of things because y'all believe y'all are invincible and nothing could touch you#kinda the same way you'd casually said we already have gitmo but like it doesn't have any relevance here so yeah gotta let it go#luigi mangione#free luigi#asks

THE GREAT MILITARY TRIBUNALS: HILLARY, OBAMA, BIDEN, AND ALL THEIR FRIENDS!
BOOM! The time has come. The secret is out. The military tribunals, the arrests, the executions—they’re not just rumors. They’re real, and they’ve been happening right under your nose! Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Joe Biden, and all their deep state cronies? They’re DONE! This is the greatest takedown in history, and it’s happening NOW.
THE TRIBUNALS HAVE BEGUN!
Since 2017, under President Trump’s fearless leadership, an epic battle has been raging behind the scenes. The mainstream media won’t tell you this, but we know the truth: the military tribunals started years ago, and they’re still going strong today!
Arrests? Check. Executions? Check. Unsealed indictments? Check. While the world is distracted, the real action is tearing apart the deep state’s corruption. These tribunals are ripping apart the globalists and traitors—one by one.
HILLARY CLINTON & FRIENDS: TREASON IS THEIR DOWNFALL!
Imagine this: You’re Hillary Clinton, convicted of treason in a secret tribunal. The only choices left are life in prison or the death penalty. But there’s a catch. To avoid execution, confess every dirty crime on camera. Hand over your stolen wealth. Play along or it’s over.
TRUMP’S LEVERAGE: WHY THEY’RE STILL ALIVE
Why not execute them all immediately? LEVERAGE. Trump’s strategy is brilliant. By keeping these traitors alive, under control, they are pawns in Trump’s game. They’re being forced to act out their own disgrace, tarnishing their legacies and bringing down the institutions they built.
THE SCRIPT: A MASTERPLAN TO DESTROY THE DEEP STATE
This isn’t just about arresting a few traitors. Trump’s team is dismantling the entire deep state. The arrests are just the beginning. The true goal is to collapse the corrupt media, the elites, the globalists—everything that’s been oppressing us for decades.
THE KEY PLAYERS: WHO’S GOING DOWN?
Trump’s team needed to take down key players—Hillary, Obama, Biden, and their cronies. These are the ringleaders of the deep state’s corruption. They’ve faced military tribunals, given the choice: cooperate or face execution. They chose cooperation, but make no mistake, they’re DONE.
THE MEDIA’S COMPLICITY: WATCH THEM FALL
The media, the deep state’s mouthpieces, will fall too. The more they lie, the more they expose their own agenda. The American people are waking up, and soon, they won’t be able to hide their true faces anymore.
GITMO: THE ONLY SAFE PLACE FOR TRAITORS
Hillary, Obama, Biden—they’re all headed to Gitmo. It’s their last refuge from the people’s wrath. But even there, it won’t be safe. They’ve sold out our country, and now, they’ll pay the price.
TRUMP: THE HERO WE NEEDED
Trump is leading this battle against the deep state. He’s the warrior who’s been fighting for America’s freedom. They’ve tried to destroy him, but he’s standing tall. He’s restoring America, and when it’s over, he’ll be the hero who saved the Republic.
THE FUTURE: A NEW ERA FOR AMERICA
This is just the beginning. The deep state is collapsing, and soon, America will be reborn. More arrests, more trials, and more justice are coming. By 2025, the deep state will be finished. We are witnessing history in the making!
Personal notes: 👇
My Intel had informed me that the people mentioned above did NOT cooperate, they were executed and none of them had any remorse for their crimes. The tribunals did begin in 2017, not only with politicians but the hollyweird pedophiles, disroyal families and the satanic vatican.
Remember during one of Trump's speeches he said and I will quote him: "I will gladly take the slings and arrows for you." And what has he been through? Trump was recruited by the military to serve in this battle. If you remember he never received any campaign contributions and he donated every check while in office he received to charity. Why? Because that was the agreement, he was not to accept any deep state money of any kind.
If you want to do some research... You would discover he was the only sitting president to lose a lot of money while serving in decades, most exited the role with millions more than when they entered office. 🤔

BREAKING! SCOTUS UNLEASHES TRUMP — DEEP STATE DECAPITATED, EXECUTIVE POWER RESTORED The Supreme Court just detonated the legal firewall shielding the Deep State. In a landmark ruling, SCOTUS confirmed that President Trump can now REMOVE heads of independent federal agencies at will — no approval, no process, no delays. The unelected fourth branch of government is DEAD. Trump now holds the sword. Gwynne Wilcox (NLRB) and Cathy Harris (MSPB) are first in line — and that’s just the beginning. This decision doesn’t tweak policy. It rewrites the battlefield. Trump isn’t navigating bureaucracy anymore. He’s crushing it. THE RULING: The President can now terminate federal agency heads without cause. No longer “independent,” no longer protected. Every agency once weaponized against Trump is now exposed. Every puppet of Biden’s shadow network is on notice. NO SHIELD. NO DELAY. NO MERCY. This is the death blow to lawfare — the strategy that used obscure agencies, legal traps, and hostile boards to sabotage Trump. The plan was always to strangle his presidency from the inside. SCOTUS just lit that plan on fire. TRUMP RECLAIMS COMMAND. All executive agencies are now fully accountable to the President. No more hiding behind red tape. No more rogue directors blocking orders. No more silent mutiny inside the machine. A top constitutional advisor made it clear: “This is presidential power, undiluted.” This is a direct return to Article II of the Constitution — total executive control over the apparatus of government. The Deep State bet everything on legal insulation. Now their fortress is ash. THE PURGE BEGINS. Expect immediate terminations. Entire departments will be restructured. Internal loyalty tests are coming. The administrative coup that hijacked America ends right now. This is GITMO-level cleanup. The mask is off. The sword is swinging. And Trump is holding it.

MAWS Slade is possibly the most normal looking version of the character but also the most unhinged. Why is he so dramatic and alwaus so eager to kill people?
The fact that he's got golden eyes and absolutely snow white hair even tho he's like, what, a couple years older than Clark and Lois? Stupendous design choices all around, there's a reason why whenever he shows up my friend talks about his "draco malfoy slay", I love it so much.
And yeah, looks wise, he's not nearly as crazy looking as he can be. No fucked up goatee, no bell bottoms, no trailing silk ties to his mask (OG Slade had the most ass backward fashion sense, no wonder Addie divorced him). He barely looks anything like himself and it's very funny, but still normal. But in terms of character, he's just so much. He is incredibly dramatic, literally dragging his swords against the wall and actually for real flipping his hair getting ready to kill people who were interns only nine months ago. No one needs to be doing all of that. And you're so right anon, he's always so incredibly eager to cause bodily harm. It gives him literal joy and that's insane, he's so so happy about it. Anime Slade is over here being the embodiment of "if you love what you do, you never have to work a day in your life" while being part of alien Gitmo essentially, it's stupendous.
And this doesn't even touch on the fact that he seems to be perpetually irreverent. He seems to have a mocking disdain for nearly everyone, there's never not a moment where he's not being bitchy to someone for literally no reason. Other than, like, maybe two exceptions, this version of Slade is never sincere, at least as far as we've seen. He sees the lady who legit fried his eye out of his head and still decides to be caustic and flippant rather than being upset that she, you know, fried his eye out of his head. It's part of the reason why I always say that I hope he and Addie are married and he's got kids in this show, because someone with this personality not only having a somewhat functional relationship but also being the person most invested in it when compared to his partner is absolutely insane and also very funny. Plus, she's not gonna be shooting his eye out of his head because he nearly got their kid killed, so they don't even have to get divorced. Imagine this absolute bastard clocking out and going home to be an attempted family man. It's brilliant.
#personal#answered#anonymous#my adventures with superman#it's one of the reasons i'm loving chris parnell's performance in this show#because nearly every time slade shows up it legit feels like a performance#it feels like he's somewhat putting on a show#which makes sense since when we see him he tends to be around enemies he wants to intimidate#literally responding to fucking superman threatening him with either going 'you're outnumbered' or calling him dumb god bless#and even with other members of task force x this clearly isn't the most stable working environment#given that waller is allowing this pissing contest with lex#so makes sense the performance extends to work hours too#man he's just my favorite guy#hope he shows up in issue 2 of the MAWS tie in comic (which comes out tomorrow hell yeah)

If I recall correctly you live in a sanctuary city. How has it been where you live in regards to the illegals in your area? They removed all of them where I live. They closed all the hotels. It's been peaceful for the first time in a long time. Good job Trump!
Trump said he was going to do it and he did it. That's for sure.
Here, they removed all the dangerous Venezuelan gang members Tren De Aragua. They are in Gitmo now. 80% of the migrant population is gone. The 20% of the migrants that remain are peaceful families who aren't bothering anyone.
It was the dangerous Venezuelan gang members that were terrifying. I repeat - these monsters were running around with AR15's taking over apartment buildings and complexes. They were taking over hotels in Texas. It was terrifying how they roamed the streets so freely with no consequences. They are gone now, thank God.
Now that they are gone, I can do my laundry where I always did it without fear. I literally had to drive 5 miles to another laundromat where I felt safer.
That's is the only positive thing the Trump administration has done - as well as protecting women's sports.
Everything else has been a fucking shitshow, thanks to Elon Musk filling Trumps head with bullshit.
If you remember Trump's first term, he didn't randomly fire thousands of government workers with a snap of a finger.
All these firings were concocted by Elon Musk. The same asshole who fired the entire Twitter staff with a smile on his face. This wasn't thought up by Trump.
Thankfully Judges are stepping in to stop this. This shit is illegal to do. You can't just point and fire 300,000 government workers for shits and giggles. Trump was ordered by a judge to re-hire all government probational workers.
Again, Trump never did any of these crazy firings on his first term. He went after dirty politicians like him.
It tells you who is really running this country. It's not Trump, it's Elon. Elon points and Trump follows.
I might agree with how Trump has gotten rid of all the dangerous illegals from this country. I agree with him as well with protecting women's sports - but firing people with a snap of a finger I don't concent or agree with.
They also need to leave Medicaid, Medicare, affordable housing, Section 8, nursing homes, homecare, SNAP and Social Security the fuck alone. Elon wants to get rid of all of that too.
Then there's all the drama with the Tariffs.
Fingers cross that more judges step in to put a stop to Elon's bullshit.
I'm not excusing Trump from any of this but it's obvious who put this in Trump's head. It's obvious who's really running the show.

About five years ago, I spent an afternoon at The Tortoise Research and Captive Rearing Site at the Twentynine Palms Marine base. Got to hold several little ones (with late gloves, of course). Appreciated all the work being done to save the desert tortoise.
Excerpt from this story from the LA Times:
The two tiny tortoises emerged from their burrows as soon as they detected Brian Henen’s footsteps, eager for the handfuls of bok choy and snap peas that would soon be tossed their way.
It will be a few years before the tortoises, roughly the size of playing cards, have shells tough enough to avoid becoming prey for the ravens soaring above. So for now, they live with roughly 1,000 others of their species in a sheltered habitat ringed by barbed wire and draped in netting.
The elaborate setup on the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center is designed to protect the tortoises not only from ravens, coyotes and other predators, but from rumbling tanks, live explosives and anything else that might put them in harm’s way at the 1,189-square-mile Mojave Desert base.
“The desert tortoise is considered a keystone species, which means that they have a disproportionate effect on the entire ecosystem,” says Henen, a civilian who heads the conservation branch of the base’s Environmental Affairs Division.
The tortoises pockmark the desert floor with burrows that other animals use for shelter, and disperse the seeds of native plants in their waste. “They’re influencing what else can exist on the landscape,” Henen said.
With its barbed-wire enclosure, some call this place Tortoise Gitmo, after the U.S. Navy’s Guantanamo Bay base and prison camp in Cuba. Others call it the Tortoise Bordello, although the young tortoises are released before they are mature enough to breed.
Officially it’s called the Tortoise Research and Captive Rearing Site, and since it was established in 2005 it has helped scientists learn how to protect a species that’s threatened by human encroachment, disease and climate change.
In the first iteration of the program, biologists gathered eggs from wild females and raised the hatchlings until they were hardy enough to stand a chance against predators and drought, in a process known as head-starting.
The facility got an influx of new tenants in 2017, when the military relocated tortoises to make way for a controversial expansion of the base’s training grounds. Biologists decided to head-start about 550 young tortoises that were taken from expansion areas.

Yuval Harari:
"If Donald Trump is elected again, it is likely to be the death blow to what remains of the global order."
Maher:
"I was afraid for my own well-being. I thought I could end up in Guantanamo Bay, I think I still could."
MSNBC:
"A lot of us joke darkly that in a second term, a lot of us will end up in orange jumpsuits in Guantanamo Bay."
Comey:
"Think about what four years of a retribution Presidency might look like."
*Gitmo currently being expanded as we speak*
Is this all just shock and awe rhetoric or are these people really this afraid?

A 2008 (pre-election) Huff Post interview with Jewish-American author Adam Mansbach includes this:
Prof. David Browmich argues that Israel has outgrown its cultural history of victimization to become the chief oppressor of the Middle East, including a nuclear terror that might invade Iran. Do you feel this fear of a literal end to the Jews raise its head in macro or micro form in your novel?
"There's hardly a word about Israel in this novel, although certainly the past specter of an end to the Jews, and the seemingly-perpetual fear of a future one, give the title its bite, make people frown or laugh or shoot me a quizzical look when I tell them what my new book's called. Personally, my Jewish upbringing, such as it was, did not include Hebrew school, which from what I can gather is where a lot of kids first get indoctrinated with the idea that as a Jew you're supposed to love and defend (with words, if not actions) the state of Israel. My family was very secular; my parents sent me to the So You Think You Might Be Jewish Sunday School and Grill out of guilt, and I got kicked out of it for singing "Livin' On A Prayer" by Bon Jovi into a mic at an all-school assembly when I was supposed to read a prayer. This was my way of acting out my anger toward my racist Jewish History teacher, who liked to tell us kids stories about the Great Jewish Exodus. You know, the one from Roxbury in the 1950s, when the blacks moved in.
When the word got out that I was publishing this book, I started getting invited to Jewish conferences, retreats, etc - which was weird, since this is third novel and nobody had ever considered me a Jewish writer before, except for the white supremacists who tried to get all my speaking gigs for Angry Black White Boy canceled, and accused me of "masquerading as white." From what I've been able to discern in the past year or two, going to all these events, the dominant concern among the Jewish generation in power seems to be that young people aren't participating enough in Jewish life, and through apathy, intermarriage, nonobservance, the Jews are going to wither and disappear. It creeps me out to be in a room full of Jews in which racial purity seems to be an agreed-upon goal, though I certainly understand where it comes from.
What bothers me most, though, is the mix of naivete and cynicism with which the young demographic is being courted; the underlying goal seems to be Jewish marriage/procreation/participation, but it's couched in all these other terms, disguised inside all these clumsy maneuvers. It's like, "What do young Jews like these days? Pancakes? Okay, we'll have a pancake breakfast, and hopefully Isaac's hand will brush against Rachel's while they're both reaching for the maple syrup, and we'll get some babies out of this."
Where do you stand on the idea of Israel as a religious homeland for Jews, as well as its geopolitical realities, which are more bloody and less romantic?
"I don't claim to be an expert. I haven't been there. But the notion that a Jewish life is worth more than a Palestinian one seems to underwrite so much of what's happening, and so much of the conversation about Israel in America's Jewish community, and that is deeply troubling. The things I read and hear from friends who have traveled in Israel and Palestine leave me with no doubt that an apartheid-like situation is in effect, and that is unacceptable.
I think there's a lot of willing suspension of disbelief on the part of American Jews about the actions of the Israeli military. People don't want to accept that they would do the things they do, so they decide they don't do them, or that they must have their reasons and delving into them isn't necessary -- and this is among the same people who would never dream of giving a pass to Bush, people outraged about Darfur and Gitmo and every other outrageous thing happening on the world stage. To me, one of the strengths of Jewish culture is the fact that everything is constantly scrutinized and discussed and argued over. Questioning and dialogue and vigorous study are the things I connect with: the notion of a Talmud that literally has no margins because every possible inch of space was covered in a multi-century discussion of life and law. So Jewish group-think frightens me; Jewish dogma without counter-dogma frightens me. I think that the Jews should have a homeland, yes -- but I also think it's fascinating that some scholars and rabbis believe that homeland is intended to be a state of mind, that some believe the greatest sin possible is to claim that homeland by force, and that several different homelands for the Jews have been proposed in this century alone. The "if you don't love Israel you're not a good Jew" mentality really bothers me. As does, I suppose, the notion of a "good Jew."
You're steeped in black culture but Jewish. How has the relationship changed over time in your mind, and what do you think having a black president during a time of Israel's geopolitical ascendancy will do to it?
"Perhaps no two ethnic groups in America share so unique, intimate, and checkered a past, politically and artistically, as blacks and Jews. I thought it was interesting that Obama touched on the fraying of relations between the two communities in his big speech on race, but I also thought his decision to essentially elaborate on his rejection of Minister Farrakan because of Farrakhan's alleged anti-Semitism was more in line with the reasons black-Jewish relations have suffered than with any attempt to mount new dialogue. It was red meat for Jewish voters. On the Jewish side, the problem with black-Jewish relations is that a handful of ill-advised and highly objectionable statements made by a few prominent black leaders in the mid-eighties have never been forgotten. And they should be. Yes, Jesse Jackson once referred to New York City as 'Hymietown." Yes, Al Sharpton could have conducted himself better during the Crown Heights riots. But these incidents happened twenty years ago.
Not only have Sharpton, Jackson, and even Farrakhan (whose outreach to the Jewish community over the last ten years has been considerable, if seldom-reported) moved on, but so has black leadership. Obama's candidacy and the emergence of hip hop generation leaders and grassroots political organizations prove that the civil rights generation is no longer in the driver's seat. Yet, these figures remain central in the collective Jewish memory - fixed in history, reduced to their offensive comments, and treated as proof of black anti-Semitism. Why? Because it provides an excuse for Jewish disengagement -- emotionally, practically, financially -- from the continuing struggle for equality. It allows Jews to disinvest in the black community and the legacy of progressive work that blacks and Jews once shared.
One of the most fascinating stories of the 20th century, and one that I try to tell in The End of the Jews, is how both Jewish assimilation and Jewish self-identity have relied on the immutability of black Otherness. As the Jews have become whiter and richer, we've also gained the ability to engage in the same kind of complacency and hypocrisy that has long characterized the rest of white liberal America. Jews can now lament racial injustice without either fighting or acknowledging the ways in which it benefits us. The post-World War II Jewish credo has been to 'never forget,' and maintain eternal vigilance against the smallest rustling of anti-Semitism. I understand that. But I also lament that fact that whenever something does happen, regardless of whether the offensive speech or action stems from true malice or ignorance, whether it is repented for or not, the gates come crashing down, and dialogue is considered anathema. I think it's time to really rethink this, especially given the tremendous attacks that civil rights and civil liberties have taken under this president (Bush)."

Thanks to @kiwiana-writes and @hgejfmw-hgejhsf, as always, for the tags this fine humpday! (And what a fine *hump* day it is, with the art we've been blessed with today.)
It's getting trickier and trickier to not spoil the entire plot of my big giant AU in these posts. 😅
Alex is fairly sure he’s never been ushered up to his mother’s office as expediently as he is today. He tries a few times to pause and say hi to a staffer en route, only to be herded onward by Amy. “I get the impression that I’m in trouble,” he says, then pensively tilts his head. “Well, more than I was when I left here last time.” “I’m under strict instructions not to let you talk to anyone,” Amy replies. Ahead of them, the door to the yellow Oval is half-open, and she gestures at it, giving Alex a little shove toward it. “In you get.” Alex throws his hands up. “Fine, fine. See you at the firing squad, I guess.” “Drama queen,” Amy mutters good-naturedly, taking her post outside the door. With a deep breath, Alex steps through the door. “I swear, no pastries were harmed during my boomerang visit to Kensington Palace,” he says by way of greeting, trying for a jovial tone to mask the sense of impending doom. Ellen Claremont is seated on the sofa in the yellow Oval, with Zahra positioned across from her on an armchair. They both look up at Alex’s statement, and the expression on Zahra’s face suggests she’s been annoyed with him since birth. “Hey, sweetheart,” Ellen says. She doesn’t look like she’s going to have Alex thrown in Gitmo, so maybe there’s hope yet. “Mom,” Alex offers. “Zahra.” He looks from one woman to the other, then back. “If you’re looking for details about what’s going on in London, you’re meeting with the wrong guy. I stayed in the guest suite basically the entire time I was there.” “We’ve been receiving constant updates from the Prime Minister’s office,” Zahra says. “Did you meet with Prince Henry at all while you were there?” “Well,” Alex remarks, “Not in any official capacity.”
As always, if you feel called to participate, please do! I am both too introverted and too forgetful when it comes to Tumblr handles to tag all the cool people whose writing I really enjoy. 😂

Spotted off the coast of North Carolina... A while ago. I heard several barges were converted into prisons because Gitmo didn't have the room to hold all of them even though Trump expanded Gitmo while he was in office. This 👆 is the first photo I've seen of one and if memory serves me correctly Camp Blaz which is also a US military base will have them to, I have said many times military tribunals have begun years ago.
I know there are many who don't be-LIE-ve me so I want you to clear your head and think about this. 👇
Do you think that all the truth coming out would be happening if the bigwigs of the deep state weren't already removed? I'm telling you we're in a mop-up situation and there are a lot of minions that will go down. How many people you ask? 1% of the Earth's population of 8.5 billion, do the math. 🤔

For the writer ask game:
4. Do you save your 'cut scenes' from your fics? (Want to share one?)
22. What is one of your favorite tropes to write? (Because you know that I know that you know that we love tropes in this house.)
38. Fic idea you're most excited to get to?
4. Yes, but not many of them are for fandoms that you are a part of >_<. I tend to only keep them if I suddenly have a Shower Thought for a plot twist that I like a lot more than whatever I'd been working on and I don't feel like deleting it. Sometimes, I wind up incorporating it into a later scene or a different fic altogether, or pirate parts of it to a new fandom if I really like it. II have one for an alternate scene in Magnum's Wrong Side of Heaven fic, but it's long, so I'll put it at the end under a cut so it doesn't impede the rest of the post.
22. I have discovered that apparently one of my favorite tropes is "communication issues" which admittedly is kinda broad, but hear me out. I have like...3 or 4 fics now where a character can't speak or won't, thus forcing a one sided conversation from a caretaker character. I'm given both Charlie Hudson and Will Trent speech aphasia, I gave Bellamy Blake from the 100 traumatic mutism, broke Thomas Magnum's jaw. The other communication issue is "character so out of it they don't know what they're saying" which I'm done to Colter Shaw, and at least twice to River Cartwright, and sooo many times to Thomas Magnum. And then there's also "this character has issues reading social cues and doesn't know what they're supposed to do or say in this instance" which I think I have done to everybody at some point or another.
38. You're actually the third person who asked this, you're just the first person I'm answering (don't judge me >_<) Probably any of them if it means I get to writing again. I came back from vacation and work has been non stop and the weather is nice so I go out and garden and daydream rather than actually write, but I DO think about the Tracker fic very, very often.
And Cut Scene from Wrong Side:
“What are you so afraid of, Zubair?” Rick asked, voice pitched low and casual despite the gun aimed at the man’s head. “What was it you always told me? You can’t kill a ghost.”
He chambered a round.
“You don’t look like you believe that.”
Katsumoto’s pistol changed direction. Instead of pointing towards Zubair, it was now leveled towards Rick. “Mr. Wright, stand down. We have him. We’ll take him into custody, and he will answer for his crimes, but I need you to put down the gun.”
Rick didn’t move. Didn’t waver. The gun remained pointed steadily at Zubair’s head.
A shot this close would create brain matter blow back. The entrance wound would still have powder burns. Depending on what type of ammunition Zubair had, it would be anything from a half inch to two-inch hole blown at the back of his skull.
Zubair struck him as the dramatic type. The kind to keep hollow point rounds to make a statement without words.
There would be blood and brain splattered everywhere.
“Wright, put the gun down,” Katsumoto ordered. “If you kill him, then you’re the one going to prison. He’s unarmed, the police have him surrounded, he isn’t going anywhere.”
“I know,” Rick said. “Because he’ll be dead.”
Gitmo wouldn’t hold a man like Zubair. As soon as a foreign agency found out who they had, they would retaliate. Exchanges would be made. It might take months. Maybe even years. But Zubair would walk away a free man – and they would be right back to where they are now.
Once was enough.
Twice was crushing.
Three times…he wouldn’t allow.
“No white flag for you to die under,” he snarled. “Guess there’ll be no paradise for you, you miserable bastard.”
It was so quiet, Rick thought it was a voice in his head – a memory of the caves. Another nightmare. But then it came again, only slightly louder, but definitely not something from his imagination.
“Don’t do it…” Thomas whispered. “Don’ do it, Rick…” The words were slurred, dropping consonants and running together into almost one word. The bruising around his eye was now forcing his left eye shut, the unnatural angle of his jaw made it hard to speak but goddamn the man, he was still trying to save what was left of Rick’s soul.
Even at the cost of his own.
“No’t for me… 'a'ole naʻu,” Thomas slurred. “Not wor’th it. Not worth it. Not for me.”
For all that Rick loved Thomas as the brother he never had, sometimes…sometimes he really hated him.
Hated the way he thought his life was worth less than those around him.
Hated the way that even now, bruised and bloodied and broke to shit, barely conscious, he wasn’t convinced he was worth saving.
Hated how with just a few measly broken words, he made Rick want to put the gun down. To listen to him, to let someone else do the dirty work, to let themselves be saved for once instead of having to what no one else was willing to.
But there were things he hated more.
Hated the way Zubair’s arm clutched possessively around Thomas’s chest.
Hated the way that Thomas’s legs no longer supported him, and he was listing drastically to the side now, and if it weren’t for that too familiar grip, he would be on the ground.
Hated the way Thomas’s voice shook. Cracked and broken and pleading that he wasn’t worth it.
Hated whoever it was that made Thomas Sullivan Magnum believe he wasn’t worth saving.
Rick glanced down at Thomas, offering a wry grin that felt painfully false. His gaze met Magnum’s, and he made sure he held it so Thomas would understand.
“Not worth it?” Rick echoed, as if it was the stupidest thing he’d ever heard. “Of course you are.”
And before anyone could stop him, Rick fired.
#games we play#asks answered#I will actually get to them all I am just ridiculously slow#magnum pi 2018#thomas magnum#I do miss that man and what season 1 was#so much potential#before fucking shipping got ahold of it and I wanted to stab someone

"Tongue in cheek" article from Daily Kos. Regardless, it highlights the absurdity of one of the latest dumb ass (and wrong) opinions from the U.S. Supreme Court. (......or.......the U.S. Supreme Corrupt Court).
Just a simple diary to point out that Biden is in a unique position of Not needing to stand for re-election and according to this benighted Supreme Court “absolute Immunity” for any official acts. So, let’s make the absolute most of this. What sort of “executive orders” would you like to see? I’ll start:
13 Supreme Justices: This one just makes sense. there are 13 judicial circuits each justice is supposed to be the head of one circuit. Let’s go back to this, and demand Chuckie Schumer go full “Nuclear option” and confirm all of them in one fell swoop.
Forgive ALL outstanding student Loan balances: Yes the conservative justices are blocking these plans, but he need to do it anyway and wipe the balances off the federal books. What are the judges gonna do? Hold him in contempt? “Absolute” immunity batches.
Federalize the Texas National Guard and put them to work dismantling governor Abbots floating buzzsaw of death in the Rio Grande
Send Gov DeSantis to Gitmo: The US Treasury just announced that FL’s “anti-woke” banking laws are hindering efforts to fight money-laundering and terrorism financing. That sounds like “providing material support for terrorism” to me. And DeSantis fought to keep people locked up there for far less, soooo…..
So I’m only half joking, but, serious or silly what do you think an “all out of F---’s to give” Biden should do with his last 6 months?

Progressive lawmakers have echoed the radical left’s talking points, prioritizing “rights” for foreign terrorists over the safety of American citizens.
“Guantanamo Bay has no place in our immigration system. This facility is known for its unrelenting human rights abuses and its use to house immigrants is fundamentally wrong,” said Rep. Maxine Dexter (D-OR).
“I will not stand by while this administration targets and abuses our immigrant community for political gain. I will continue to lead Democrats in demanding not just transparency—but real action.”
The Democrat demands include:
An immediate halt to transfers of immigrants to Guantanamo Bay.
A detailed report on past or prospective transfers to the facility.
Access to counsel for any past present, or prospective detainee.
A full accounting of government expenditures related to this detention program.
What’s missing? Any mention of the victims. No demands for justice for the Americans assaulted, robbed, or killed by cartel members who should have never set foot on U.S. soil.
While Republicans have been pushing for tougher immigration enforcement, border security, and strong action against violent foreign gangs, Senate Democrats appear more committed to virtue-signaling and appeasing the open-borders lobby.
Communist Democrats being Communist Democrats.
