Hi I have a request for a cold/flu fic for enhypen where it starts with the maknae line getting sick and being taken care of by their hyungs?

(Bonus: the maknae line gets their hyungs sick as well and soon have to repay the favor)

“ I had three different requests for the en- maknae line getting sick, I have chosen to combine.

sickies: Niki, Jungwon, Sunoo

caretakers: Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon

Heeseung p.o.v

I rolled over in bed, I felt tired, shaking my head, trying to clear the sleep from my brain. I was confused, it felt brighter than usual, Usually Jungwon would wake us up for schedules, so it was quite unusual for me to wake up on my own. I finally felt just awake enough to check my phone, and nearly fell out of bed. How is it already 9!?!?! We are supposed to be at our schedule in 25 minutes. I jumped out of bed and ran to the bedroom with the four youngest members.

I reached to knock on the door, when I felt a hand on my shoulder. I flinched, and turned around. Sunghoon was standing behind me. “my God, Sung you scared me”

“sorry hyung, we all slept in a bit, but everyone is awake now.”

“oh good, because we have to leave in a few minutes.”

the seven of us hurried to the van, trying to get to our schedules on time, knowing the company wouldn't be too happy if we were late. I was seated next to Jungwon on the car ride. I leaned close to him. “Won, what’s going on? you’re usually the one who wakes us all up”

“I’m sorry hyung, I’m just tired.” I noticed how his voice sounded stuffed up and worn out. I hoped he was okay. I knew the younger has some decently bad pollen allergies, so I wondered if that was what was bothering him. I glanced over to Jay, who also had allergies, but he seemed to be fine.

“Won-”

“hatchyu-tchyu-tiktcyu” I was startled from the fit from the leader.

“are you aright?” I asked reaching over, hoping to check his temperature. But the leader pushed my hand away. “I’m fine” he said, rubbing his nose on his long sleeves. “are you sure?” he shook his head and half rolled his eyes, “yes, I’m fi-i-ih-it-etchyyu-ketchyyu- *sniff* I’m fine” I gave him a skeptical look. “it’s just allergies” I gave him another skeptical look.

“I’m serious hyung, why don’t you just trust me?”

“it’s not that I don’t trust you, I’m just concerned”

“Don’t worry hyung, I’m okay”

Jake p.o.v

Roughly two minutes after getting in the car Niki had leaned on my shoulder.

“you okay buddy?”

“uh-huh, I’m just kinda tired” his voice was soft, and raspy. “you can take a little nap kiddo. I’ll let you know when we get to the building” he nodded against my shoulder, and whispered a quiet thank you

Sunghoon p.o.v

I stretched over the seat, not caring that we only had a fifteen minute drive. I heard a soft throat clear from Sunoo. I thought he was trying to grab my attention so I looked over at him, just now noticing how unwell he truly looked. His cheeks were flushed, his eyes had a glassy feverishness, and his skin was a sickly pale color. I reached over and placed a hand on his forehead, noticing the way he leaned into the touch ever so slightly. “I think you have a fever” I spoke quietly to the slightly younger. “i know” He spoke softly, rubbing his hands over his face. “you knew, but you didn’t say anything”

“everyone was stressed and hurrying this morning, I didn’t want to cause another thing to worry about”

“Sunshine, your health is important, you should have said something” He apologized softly. His breath hitched quietly between the words, before he ducked his head down, pinching his nose, and stifling a set of three sneezes.

“bless you, and you shouldn’t stifle your sneezes like that, it hurts your ears.”

“yes, yes, I know. It’s just a bad habit I developed” His voice had a hint of raspiness. He rubbed his nose. “if you have a fever you should not be working today.”

“I’m alright hyung” He said with a soft smile. His nose had continued to grow pinker each time he rubbed at it, it gave him a younger, more innocent look. I gently patted the top of his head, pulling him to lean against me. “try and rest some, I think you need it” he nodded, rubbing at his nose once again, and leaning against my chest. I started playing with his hair. Within three minutes he had fallen asleep.

“hey, guys, I think Sunoo is sick.” I spoke quietly, continuing to play with his hair. “Niki is sick too” Jake said, motioning to the maknae asleep on his shoulder. “Jungwon is sick too” Heeseung spoke motioning to the leader next to him. Who instantly sat up straighter. “No! No, I’m not” He said, instantly coughing harshly afterwards.

Heeseung shook his head, “I’ll let our manager know. Jay could you let the driver know we need to go home?”

“sure hyung”

Jungwon pouted, but knew he wasn’t going to win.

no one’s p.o.v

By the time the seven members returned home the three maknae’s were sound asleep, which gave the perfect opportunity to make a “game plan”

“Sunghoon, I’m assuming you’re wanting to take care of Sunoo” Sunghoon nodded, continuing to play with the younger’s hair. Jake explained that he would continue to take care of Niki. Jay volunteered to help take care of Jungwon, but Heeseung seemed unsure. We all knew that the young leader was quite stubborn and didn’t like being taken care of, but he also had a bit of a soft side that seemed to come out when he was sick, especially with a fever. At the same time, we wanted to avoid overwhelming him, and we all agreed that having just one person taking care of him might make it easier for him to accept the care.

In the end, we decided that Heeseung would take care of Jungwon, Jay and Jake would take turns with Niki, and whenever one of them wasn’t taking care of the maknae, he would help with the other members. And then Sunghoon was set for taking care of Sunoo.

~back at the dorm~

Jay and Jake brought Niki to their room, the maknae went along with no issues, as he was already half asleep. Sunoo and Sunghoon went to the maknae line (and Sunghoon) room, the two of them had taken over that room as the others went into the other rooms. The only member that proved to be an issue was Jungwon. Heeseung has to practically drag Jungwon to his room, as the leader protested continuing to claim that he was fine and could handle himself, and didn’t need help.

Heeseung p.o.v

I had to half-carry Jungwon into my room. He had grown quite unsteady on his feet. I assumed he had a fever, and then with every sneeze or cough, he nearly fell forward. And yet, even with all that he continued to try and push me away, insisting that he was fine.

“Jungwon, why are you so set on being fine?”

“because I ah-atchu-hetchu- I am fine”

“Wonnie, I might believe you if you could say that without sneezing halfway through” His cheeks, already flushed from what I guessed was a fever, flushed to an even deeper shade of pink. I gave him a soft smile, “If you have a fever, you have to stop fighting me and let me take care of you, but if you don’t I’ll leave you alone, deal?” He nodded with a proud smile on his face. “deal” he said, and I didn’t miss the note of congestion in his voice. I left to the bathroom, and searched around for the thermometer, eventually finding it in the drawer and heading back to the room with Jungwon. “Alright, we had an agreement” I opted to ignore the younger’s overly dramatic eye-roll. I slid the thermometer over his forehead.

“38.5 (101.4)”

“you’re l-h-lying” He half yelled, rubbing at his nose, which had taken on a bright pink glow. His aggressive tone seemed to irritate his throat as he doubled over in a harsh coughing fit, with his hands bracing himself on his knees. It sounded quite painful, as it shook his whole body. I stepped closer to him, and gently rubbed his back. I stayed by his side without moving until he stopped coughing. He stood up straight, and locked eyes with me, his were filled with tears. I was unsure if it was from the force of the coughing, or from being in pain, or from his fever.

Something I learned about Jungwon is that it is quite easy to forget his young age because he’s such a good leader and always cares so much for each of us. But in that moment as I looked into his tear filled eyes, and saw how his cheeks had grown flushed, his eyes were glassy, and there were beads of feverish sweat over his forehead, and his nose was a bright pink, a stark contrast to his pale face, I just wanted to hug him close and care for him like a child.

“how about you lay down” I said, gently brushing his sweaty bangs off of his feverish forehead. “C-can you stay?” he asked, his voice was soft, and nervous. Which acted in a strong contrast to how confident he usually sounds. “of course Wonnie” He smiled, yes the smile was weak and made me sad, but it was still a smile.

Sunghoon p.o.v

by the time I got to my room, Sunoo was half-asleep, leaning against my shoulder. I gently lowered him into his bed, and tucked him in. I gently touched his forehead, checking for a fever. I felt content when there was a distinct lack of warmth. I was tempted to leave the room, trying to avoid getting sick, but I also knew that Sunoo would be very sad if he woke up and realized that I had left him. So, somewhat reluctantly, I layed down next to him, instantly after, he curled into my side. “thanks for staying” his voice was soft, and raspy, but I could hear the sincerity in his tone.

Jake p.o.v

Niki had woken up when we were trying to carry him back from the car, Hey, it’s not my fault the kid is a giant. But it seemed like once he woke up, he couldn’t fall back asleep. He was laying down in Jay’s bed, with both Jay and I sitting next to him. He seemed to be very against the idea of either of us leaving. He wouldn’t straight out say anything, but at one point when Jay had stood up to grab the thermometer, Niki had given a soft, and sad sound, bordering between a whimper and a whine.

As soon as he would start to doze off, he would be distracted by a sneeze or a cough. And over the past few minutes he had started to comment on a headache. “Niki, can you please let go of my hand. I’ll be right back, I’m just going to get some medicine and the thermometer.” I felt his tight grip loosen slightly. “I’ll be right back” I glanced at Jay, who pointed at the near empty box of tissues by his bed, and then back at Niki. I nodded to show him I understood. Before leaving I gently brushed Niki’s hair out of his face. Checking for a fever. He felt slightly warm, but not too bad. But I still planned on checking just in case.

I ended up taking longer than intended because I ended up having to go on a bit of a search to find the thermometer, eventually finding it in with Heeseung. When I went back I saw that both Jay and Niki had fallen asleep, I quietly went to check Niki’s temperature, which was thankfully only about 1 degree over what it normally should be. I climbed in bed next to the two of them, I wasn’t tired, so I just sat up on my phone.

Sunoo p.o.v

Sunghoon never left my side. I knew I had to be driving him crazy, I was so uncomfortable, no matter how I moved, it just wasn’t right. And even with all the moving (plus the coughing, and sneezing) Sunghoon stayed with me. PLaying with my hair when I would actually lie still, and whenever I moved, he would always tuck me in again.

Eventually when I fell asleep, I didn’t wake up for a while, because before I knew it, it was six o’clock, and Sunghoon, was waking me up for dinner.

“how did you sleep?”

“like a rock” I said stretching, and being surprised that I felt marginally better, I did notice that the headache had lightened significantly, my throat no longer had the itchy feeling, but now felt more raw, being worn from the coughing. “do you feel better?”

“yeah, quite a bit actually”

“that’s good”

“how are the others?” I asked, sniffling and reaching for a tissue. “According to Jay and Jake, Niki had taken a nap earlier, The three of them are watching a movie in the living room, I actually was going to ask if you wanted to go join them.”

“sure” I said tossing the blankets off and standing up, moving slowly to keep myself from causing my headache to comeback. “and how’s Jungwon?”

“he’s been in and out of sleep. According to Heeseung, he’s been really sneezy and has a fever.”

“oh, hopefully he feels better soon”

“I hope you all feel better, I don’t like seeing you guys in pain” His voice trailed off slightly at the end, almost as if he was a bit shy to admit this. I couldn’t help but smile at my youngest hyung. He seemed shyed by this comment and stayed quiet the rest of the way to the living room, but once we got there, he sat down on the couch, and pulled me to lay down, with my head in his lap, where he resumed playing with my hair.

~the next mornign~

Jungwon p.o.v

“hyung, I’m serious, I do f-heh-hitchu-hehticu- feel better”

“I know Jungwon, but you do still have a small fever, and I don’t want you making yourself worse”

“but the rest of you guys get to resume schedules why can’t I!?!?”

“because the rest of us don’t have a fever”

“but-” I stopped, not even knowing what to say, I never thought I would ever even think this, but I found myself quietly cursing my crappy immune system. Heeseung gave me a sympathetic look. “would it make you feel better if I stayed back with you?” I stayed silent, not actually wanting to admit how much I wanted, at least, one of my members to stay back with me. Thankfully, Heeseung was able to take my lack of an answer, as a good substitute for an actual answer.

“I’m just going to take that as a yes, I’ll go let the others know I’m staying with you”

“thanks hyung”

“no problem”

He was gone for only about two minutes, and yet, I noticed actually how much I liked the comfort of even having one of the others just in the same room as me. Heeseung came back, and sat down next to me. “We made an agreement that if you don’t have a fever by tomorrow, you can return to schedules, and if you still have a fever, we’ll all stay with you. If you want us to” I nodded, that sounded good to me. And in all honesty, I wasn’t worried, I already felt significantly better. The only thing was I was tired, had a fever and the sneezing. The latter proved to be the biggest issue, “hitchu-hhitchu-iktchhu-”

“bless you” Heeseung said passing me a tissue. I thanked him. “Hyung, if you don’t mind, I’m going to get some sleep, and hopefully sleep off... whatever this is”

“sleep well, I’ll be here when you wake up”

~time skip~

I woke up, and my gosh, I felt almost perfectly fine, Heeseung was lying next to me, he was sound asleep, so I quietly climbed out of bed, and searched around, finding the thermometer, and checking the temperature, and almost cheered out loud when I saw it was basically normal. But even in my excitement, I noticed how pale, and yet flushed Heeseung hyung looked.

eventually I hope to make a part two of this. I’m sorry it was so rushed. I’ve been working on this for like an eternity and I just wanted to get it posted.
