hello dear! you always make such wonderful outfits, both costumes and not, and i was wondering where some of the best places for materials would be? ie cloth, accessories, etc. hope you're having a good day/night, bug, ily :) - Gobs

Hi gobs!!! its always such a pleasure to hear from u (๑°꒵°๑)･*♡ ilysm!!! and thanks for the compliments and the questions! yes ok i have been collecting clothes and shit forever so here is what i do

thrift store and go to ALL the sections, check in often to different ones, if they are small locally owned ones try your best to befriend the owners or employees as they will be nice to you and probably recognize you when you come and be like “oh! hi! this ! we got this thing in and you would like it!” that happens to me and its the best >:) going to the womens and mens and pyjama and lingerie and childrens and holdiay section is the only way to find all the weirdo cool accessories and clothes imo! ignore the labels like if its a childs skirt but it fits u as a shirt wear it!!! if you find a cool vintage toy you wanna put on a necklace do it! wear stuff from the pyjama section in your every day (like, theres so often those cool vintagey sun and moon silk pyjama shirts in that section! get one and be a wizard ya know!) the lingerie section often has super cute dresses and slips to wear over leggings or turtlenecks! the mens section has great pants u can cut or wear big, nice flannels, chunky sweaters! etc! the baby section often has very cheap clothes u can cut up to make very cute little pockets and patches from!!! 

lots of thirft stores have a fabric section, or look at curtains and sheets for cool fabrics is a thing i like to do! buying doilies to emboirder onto things or cheap shirts with a cool design that you can cut the design out of and stitch onto like  a flannel or a hoodie is so good!

lots of thrift stores also have little bags of craft supplies

halloween stores! if theres a year round one definitaly check it out, if not, wait till halloween and save up $$ to spend at halloween ! it is my fav holiday and such a source for cool accessories

in terms of cheap cute gothy stuff like chokers and harnesses i got a lot of it off the wish app? so maybe thats a fun thing for you!

trade clothes with friends!!! 

ill open my depop back up in a few months so ;) lol but depop is something some people like or etsy? 

try n go to farmers markets and artisan fairs and anarchist collectives or zine fairs and people there will be cool and probably make fun stuff often and you can buy patches and things to put on your clothes from them!

modify all ur clothes if u want! dont fixate on whether they look “good”! wear lots of layers if u like! fuck standard fashion and wear what u want and do what makes u happy! love u hope u find all u wish !!!!!
