hi hello! This is my first post on here :) I'm also starting a worldbuilding project on there if anyone is interested
The Kirakh
Introduction
The Kirakh were a 13 ft tall quadrupedal alien species hailing from the Xyke System, a planetary star sytem orbiting around a K-type variable orange dwarf star. They are a type 2 civilization on the Kardashev scale, as they have colonized their entire star system and two other neighboring systems, and is currently working in on a third.
The species is currently recovering from a devastating world war on their home planet that had crippled their civilization temporarily about 100 years ago, but now, they have advanced in technology afterwards and had journeyed to the cosmos ever since. They also have a long history in relative to their star's long lifespan.
The Kirakh base their calendar system around a supervolcanic eruption event from around 200,000 years ago (these approximations may change when I start charting their history), during when the species is in their stone age period.
B.E - before eruption
D.E - during eruption
A.E - after eruption
I like to think that the species is located somewhere in the Andromeda Galaxy, and that the Kirakh were the closest thing to us humans in that galaxy. After all, no two alien races are the exact same, as I like to believe.
Anatomy
Chemistry
The Kirakh are carbon-based lifeforms like us, but they do also have some things that differentiate them from us too.
Unlike humans, the Kirakh have cobalt in their blood instead of iron, these proteins are called coboglobin. They function the same as the hemoglobin found in humans, and it makes their blood amber-yellow in the arteries, and clear-colored in the veins.
Limbs
Guys just ignore the small wings on their back, the image is just one of their earlier versions and they were originally gonna have these wings, but now I will be retconning them to don't have these wings.
The Kirakh have a total of three pairs of limbs, with the midlimbs and the rearlimbs being functioned for walking, while the remaining forelimbs being used to manipulate objects and items.
Unlike humans, which have pentadactyly digits, Kirakh have tridactyly digits, meaning they posess three fingers on each limb. The digits on the midlimbs and the rearlimbs have been arranged in a chameleon-like form, with two digits in the front and one in the back, and reverse in the rearlimbs.
Their forelimbs have evolved to become three-fingered hands with opposable thumbs that allows them to manipulate and interact with the world around them, as well as retractable "hooks" in their digits that is once used to hook onto the surface of the trees and help be better at climbing.
It appears that the rearlimbs on the Kirakh are facing backwards unlike the other two frontal limbs. Of course, this is a universal trait for some backboned creatures on the planet, which they take from their ancestors millions of years ago.
Skin and fur
Some parts of the Kirakh skin, such as the face and the limbs, are made out of the same leather human skin is made out of, with a layer of keratin scales going down from the nape to the section where the tail meets the body. The Kirakh also have fur under that layer of scales that cover most of the body, usually shorter and more rougher when in warmer regions to and longer and fluffier in colder regions to preserve body heat.
Respiratory System
The Kirakh have spiracles on their chest region, altough they are hidden in the fur. In some ethnicities born in warmer regions of the planet, where fur is more shorter, there is a bare patch on each of the spiracles. The spiracles connect to the lungs of the individual and is used to absorb oxygen and to distribute it along the bloodstream. Like us humans, Kirakh need oxygen to survive, and also need constant oxygen while exersizing. Kirakh lungs are also quite large to handle the strain of climbing trees.
Reproduction
The Kirakh use the basic two-gender system that most organisms on theirs and our planet use. They practice external fertilization, mainly because their reproductive parts are located in their chest cavity region, so it might be impossible for offspring to develop inside.
The female produces ovum, or unfertilized eggs, while the male produces fly-sized winged gametes that crawl into the open capsule into the ovum, and then fertilizes the egg cell inside, eventually resulting with a fertilized egg, that within around 6 months, will hatch out a young kirakh.
Life Cycle
Juvenile
The average Kirakh lives from around 90-150 years. They start off as tiny and hairless, and feeding off their mother's crop, and over time, they start growing a coat of fluffy fur that wards off parasites and other pesky insects and unwanted guests from entering it's body, and it also keeps them at their core body temperature.
They also have a fast metabolism rate when young, as they need lots of food to grow and stay energized. Kirakh young also have a sprawled stance, but then their legs get more erect as they grow.
Frequently during their juvenile stage, Kirakh shed their old coat of fur and be replaced with a new one once in every year, in a process called molting. This is usually because their fur doesn't grow along with it.
Adolescent/Adult
When the Kirakh get into a certain age, which is about 14-15 years, the fur on their back will start to fall off to make way for the keratin scales that will grow eventually. The adolescent stage will eventually end 6 years later, when they are 21 years old, their scales would be fully grown and the growth cycle would be complete as it enters the adult stage.
Kirakh may also become old when they are around 70-75 years old.
Alright so it is now done! Let me know about what you guys think :)

maybe after today’s acls training i can finally write that chengqing ER oneshot.
— “Patient male, mid-twenties, motor vehicle collision, eta 3 mins”
— “What no vitals? No GCS? ETA 3 mins? Who’s on the paramedic team?!”
— “No one….Dr. Lu hit someone with her car on her way out of the hospital.”
【A Midnight Conversation in Your Local ER】- Complete
[1]
The night hunt had gone to shits.
That much was undeniable.
Jiang Cheng heard the panicked shout of his disciples just as he saw the array that he had stepped on.
Fuck.
The ghost of an once mediocre demonic cultivator wanna-be was going to bring Jiang Cheng, Jiang Wanyin - the Sandu Shengshou - to meet his maker. The irony of the situation would be laughable, if he wasn’t so irrevocably screwed.
That was his last thought before his entire body was engulfed by a blinding light and the world he knew disappeared.
The ground beneath his feet gave away, weightlessness paralyzing his body though he did not fall. He felt…launched, his body warping and squeezing and stretching, the air sucked from his lungs into the endless black vacuum.
But just like that it was over. Jiang Cheng barely had time to make peace with his death before his feet touch solid earth again.
Or at least….he thought it was earth, this black, tarry hard thing striped with yellow and white. He stared at it dumbly, breathless and disoriented, barely able to react when a loud blare assaulted his senses and his world went blindly bright yet again.
This time there was pain.
Jiang Cheng clutched Sandu, ready to fight, but then his head hit the ground and everything went dark. When he woke up again, an indeterminate amount of time later, he was in a small tube and had a distinct feeling he was not wearing pants, socks or shoes.
How the fuck do you ‘scan’ a cat???
[2]
Method actor. The nurse, from the other side of the curtain, mouthed silently.
“Sir, can you tell me your name.”
“Jiang Cheng, Jiang Wangyin.”
The resident paused, awkwardly contemplating how to continue. “Uh…..which is it? Jiang Cheng or Jiang Wanyin?”
“Jiang Cheng, zi Wanyin.”
“Traditional parents?” The resident tried to crack a joke, but it fell flat. The strange man stared up at him with a blank look in his eyes and a frown that was rapidly deteriorating into a scowl. The resident cleared his throat and cast his eyes back onto his clipboard. “Uh, ahem, just the name on your ID please.”
“My what?"
"Your personal ID….like a driver’s license?”
“Cultivators of the gentry fly on swords or ride horses. We do not rely on carriage valets.”
“Eh… right. Uhm, can you tell me how old you are and what year it is.”
“I’m 39, and the year is jiachen.”
Lu Qi frowned from where she stood by the door, arms crossed, watching her resident and medical student work. 39? He looks like a college student. But he also thinks he can fly, so I guess age is the least of our worries.
“Jiachen.…?”
The M3 fished his phone out from his scrub pocket pocket and typed it in. “Sounds like the ganji system, like an old timey way to record year used in the past.” He whispers clandestinely to the resident.
“….Right. And uh, do you where you are?”
The man scowled at him. “Am I supposed to?”
The resident scribbled something on the chart, and then looked up with a plastered awkward smile. “Well, thank you Mr. Jiang for your patience. Wang Fei here is the medical student on our team. He’s going to stay and ask you a couple more questions if you don’t mind. Afterwards we’ll confer with our attending and the team will be back to see you shortly.”
As he turned away, the R3 grimaced and shared a look with Lu Qi, who was the youngest attending physician in their ER, but was not technically working at the moment and so was not on the case. And technically, as the perpetrator who hit Jiang Cheng with her car, she had a severe conflict of interest.
At least this Jiang Cheng dude didn’t seem keen on pressing personal charges against her for MVA or suing the hospital in general… but that being said…
Yeah, they’re going to need a psych consult.
Unless he’s on acid.
Well… okay, psych consult either way.
[3]
"It’s okay, you can relax.” Jiang Cheng said, waving dismissively at the woman standing by his bedside. “I’m not going to take you to the magistrate for hitting me with your carriage - car. You didn’t mean to, and I just came out of nowhere.”
“....Thank you.”
“You’re not Wen Qing. I know that now. Your name is Lu Qi. You can call off those psychia - psych - psychics - head healers - or whatever, I’m not crazy. It’s not my fault, you just… look so much like someone I used to know."
"Wen Qing.” Lu Qi echoed.
“Yeah. Wen Qing. She was a healer - a doctor - like you, but different.”
“I see. What happened to her?"
"She died. Almost twenty years ago."
"I'm sorry... that's awful.” Lu Qi’s response rolled off her tongue so well, because she had said those word a thousand times during her residency. So much so that it no longer had much meaning to her. Tonight however, she meant what she said. “Were you two close?"
"No, well…yes, maybe. No we weren’t exactly friends if that’s what you’re asking. She...operated on me. Without my consent or knowledge. Took my brother’s golden core and put it in me and then lied with my brother to my face about it. So no we weren’t “close”, but Wen Qing saved my life - well the purpose of it anyway. Saved me from a life of ordinariness.”
Lu Qi did allow herself to dwell too much on what the fuck a “golden core” was, because her gut response was almost instantaneous. “That’s shitty of her.”
She clamped down on her tongue.
God, why did I have to say that? To his face?! He was obviously in love with this Wen Qing person and they were encroaching on some dangerous emotional territories, but Lu Qi swallowed down her caution and plowed on nevertheless. There were things she felt she had to say, and since she’d already hit him with her car, how much worse could this shit get? “What I mean is she shouldn’t have. Not without telling you. Besides...there’s nothing wrong with ordinary.”
Jiang Cheng chuckled bitterly. “Maybe you’re right. Still...she didn’t deserve to die. What her clan did was not her fault.”
Now that threw Lu Qi off. Did this guy...kill her?
Lu Qi half wondered if she stumbled upon a Yakuza-esque member whose psyche finally snapped after years of murder and violence. And yet, he seemed perfectly coherent, no flight of ideas, no tangential thought, no hallucations. Even his delusions seemed...logical.
I must be the one losing, damnit.
Jiang Cheng scratched a little at his chest, as if palpating for the “golden core” that he spoke of. "She saved my life, but when she needed help, I couldn't save her. But, if I were to go back… I can't say I'll choose differently. My clan needed me, my clan who was almost cleansed by hers. No, no I wouldn’t choose differently. I don’t regret my choices, but I am sorry. Sorry to her, sorry to my brother. I'll always be sorry that she died, and that I failed her when she needed me."
Jiang Cheng had no idea why he was telling this stranger any of this, but maybe after twenty years, he was finally ready to address this guilt that he lived with. I mean who else was he supposed to tell? Jin Ling? It was nice, to have that face as an audience, receiving his words of confession.
"She would forgive you."
Lu Qi had no idea why she was offering absolution as if she had authority in this matter, but when she said it, the conviction she felt was so real, it was almost as though some external force was acting through her.
Which was ridiculous of course, but...
"How do you know? You're not her." Jiang Cheng shook his head. “I wouldn’t forgive me.”
"No, but you said she was a physician. So she should know, more than most, that sometimes there is no choosing who gets to live or die."
Jiang Cheng fell quiet at that, and his gaze grew distant. Lu Qi thought perhaps he was no longer seeing her as she was in front of him - white coat, scrubs, stethoscope -  but someone entirely different. The tension he held in his shoulders slowly eased, and he sighed. In the silence that stretched between them, Lu Qi hoped that this strange man with his strange past could find a sliver of peace.
[4]
— Did you love her?
— I thought so, foolishly, but maybe I didn’t. Even if I did, it was not well enough.
— Do you love her still?
— No... I don’t know. It’s been too long...but sometimes, late at night when Lotus Pier is quiet, I think I do.
...
— Are you ashamed of it?
...
— No. No I’m not.
[5]
The patient known as Jiang Cheng left AMA, that is, against medical advice. It was the term they used sometimes for people who just up and leave without informing the team.
Lu Qi had gone out to check on his labs, which came back with bonker numbers (I mean really, a hemoglobin of 455, sodium of 200, and a HCO3 of like...3?), but Jiang Cheng was gone from Bay 6 when she returned. The nurse made the overhead page, a code yellow was called, but four hours later, Lu Qi was ready to admit that she was never going to see this Jiang Cheng ever again.
Somehow, she was okay with that. She had said what needed to be said.
Her chief had given her a call on her cell and told her to go home and sleep. The guy didn’t look like he was gonna press charges, let’s count our blessings and move on. But the night had just been too damn strange that Lu Qi was all wired up from it and couldn’t possibly fall asleep. She had handover at 10 anyway. There was a change of clothes and toiletries in her bag. She could always take a shower in the anesthesia staff’s on call room and sleep until then.
Dr. Sun was the anesthesia staff on-call tonight and was currently stuck in trauma OR. They were buddies since medschool; she’d understand.
Sighing, Lu Qi took a seat on the bench across from the bougie cafe in the lobby of the hospital. At this hour, it was the only one still open in the entire facility. The drinks they sold cost an arm and a leg, but Lu Qi needed the pick-me-up after the night she had.
As she nursed the last bit of her matcha latte, two bickering voices pulled her attention to the front entrance.
“Aiyo, A-Liang I already said I’m fine! I don’t need to be here!”
“Fuck out of here with that bullshit, Chen Zhaoxi. You fell off the fucking roof! If Wu Kun hadn’t called me, you’d have gone on -”
It was him! Lu Qi shot up. It was Jiang Cheng!
But no...no it wasn’t him. The well-dressed man dragging the second man (dressed in red pajamas) into the hospital was not Jiang Cheng. He had the same face - chiselled, handsome, scowling - but it wasn’t him. For one, his hair was trimmed short and neat, unlike Jiang Cheng who looked like he walked straight out of a BL xianxia tv drama. Secondly, his face was softer, eyes younger, and he couldn’t have been older than Lu Qi herself in her early thirties.
“I was just trying to get to the litter of kittens trapped -”
“Yes, yes, and it was very heroic and I’m sure it would’ve made Wu Kun very horny, and you morons probably would’ve fucked once he got home had you not made a valiant attempt at breaking your neck -”
“Excuse me,” the security guard manning the information desk chastised sharply. “It’s 4am. This is a hospital! Lower your voices, sirs.”
“Sorry.” The men apologized sheepishly.
Then, A-Liang, Jiang Cheng’s doubleganger asked, “Could you please direct us to the ER? This is my brother, he fell off a roof.”
Lu Bin had no idea what possessed her to interject. “I can take you there.”
All eyes fell on her. She walked towards them, heart pounding.
This can’t be happening, this kind of thing just can’t happen...
A-Liang’s face broke into a grateful smile. “Thank you, Miss -” Then his gaze trailed to her badge, and he corrected himself, “Dr. Lu. I’m Shen Liang. This is my brother Chen Zhaoxi. I think he fractured...well multiple things, please help him.”
“Of course, come with me. Let’s get him a wheelchair. If he fractured is leg, he probably shouldn’t be walking.”
“I didn’t fracture -”
“You, you shut up.” Shen Liang rolled his eyes. “Don’t listen to him. He can lose three out of four limbs and say ‘ t’s but a flesh wound’.”
Lu Qi couldn’t help but chuckle as she put an arm under the complaining Chen Zhaoxi and helped him towards the wheelchair.
Shen Liang’s smile widened.
[Extra]
“Holy shit, took you long enough!”
When Jin Ling and Lan Sizhui finally dragged Jiang Cheng to their portal site, Jiang Cheng realized that the transportation talisman had created a channel through realities between what looked like two metal garbage dumpsters in a back alley behind a food establishment marked by giant yellow bunny ears.
Standing guard there, Lan Jingyi and Ouyang Zizhen were each munching on a strange layered bread and holding tall drinks contained in...what was it called again? Right. Styrofoam.
“What is that?” Jin Ling wrinkled is nose at it. Brat.
“It’s a Big Mac.” Replied Lan Jingyi as if Jin Ling was stupid. “And this is a milk shake.”
Jin Ling scowled. “I said the bag of gold I gave you was for emergencies.”
“Yeah but we were hungry.” Ouyang Zizhen defended. He neglected to tell them that the cashier had refused to accept the gold and instead asked for “cash” or “card”, neither of which they had, so Zizhen used a liiiiil confounding talisman he learned from Wei Wuxian. They did leave more than enough gold though...and that ought to cover the restaurant’s cost for their “burger”lary . Reaching into the brown paper bag he held under one arm, Zizhen pulled out a little box that opened to show pieces of... something. “These are chicken nuggets. They’re delicious! Try one! They’re really good with this sauce....hold on...”
Lan Sizhui sighed. “We don’t have time for this. The portal will close soon. Let’s get Jiang-zongzhu home and we can sample these exotic food later.”
The boys agreed.
Jiang Cheng shook his head and huffed.

What is thalassemia?
Thalassemia is an inherited blood disorder where an abnormal form of hemoglobin is produced in the body. Hemoglobin is a protein molecule that is contained in red blood cells (RBC) and helps to carry oxygen from lungs to cells. Thalassemia is not a contagious disease but it can be passed from parents to children through genes. Causes of thalassemia The cause of thalassemia is mutation or abnormality of the gene which is involved in hemoglobin production. This genetic problem passes from parents to children when the parents are carriers of thalassemia. Thalassemia minor occurs when one of the parents is a carrier and the other one is normal. Thalassemia minor is not the actual disease rather it can just create a carrier. The actual thalassemia (Beta thalassemia major) occurs when two of the parents are carriers. Different types of thalassemia The type of thalassemia depends on the variation and number of genes. Example: Alpha thalassemia: Generally, hemoglobin is made of alpha and beta parts. Alpha thalassemia occurs due to the absence of the alpha part. Depending on how many Genes are abnormal, there are 4 types of Alpha Thalassemia. Type 1: Here the only one gene has the mutation and makes a carrier but there is no symptom. Type 2: Two genes have mutations and make a carrier with mild Anemia. Type 3: This type is also called Hemoglobin H Disease where three genes have mutations. Type 4: Four genes have mutations and, in this case, usually birth a dead baby. Beta thalassemia: This type of thalassemia occurs due to the absence of the beta part. There are two types of beta-thalassemia depending on the carriers. 1. Thalassemia minor occurs when one abnormal gene comes from a carrier of thalassemia but other genes come from a normal person 2. Thalassemia major occurs when two of the genes come from the carrier of thalassemia Symptoms of thalassemia Because of abnormal hemoglobin production, the red blood cells (RBC) break down before it's normal life span. The normal lifespan of RBC is 120 days. The symptoms of thalassemia vary depending on the type and severity. ● Yellow or pale face ● Physical weakness and fatigue ● Aversion to food ● Growth retardation of children ● Dark urine (May have sediment)
Complications of Beta Thalassemia Thalassemia is a life-threatening disease that can lead to premature death. Usually, the symptoms of a thalassemia child appear at the age of 2 years and increase the complications day by day. The complications of Beta thalassemia are given below: ● Severe anemia ● Brittle bones ● Liver cirrhosis ● Decrease the Immunity ● Abnormal heart rhythms ● Heart failure ● Splenomegaly Why is thalassemia? A thalassemia baby is born when the marriage occurred between two carriers of thalassemia. There is only one way to prevent thalassemia that is explained below: Every boy and girl should be tested for thalassemia before marriage. Never arrange a marriage between two carriers of thalassemia. Marriage will be safe when one is a carrier but the other one is a normal person. Treatment options for thalassemia There is no curable treatment for thalassemia except bone marrow transplant that is very costly. Other treatment options for thalassemia are Blood transfusion, Iron chelation, Counseling, Splenectomy, etc. The diet chart for a thalassemia patient is given below: Eat food that contains folic acid and vitamin 12: Broccoli, peanut, green vegetables, orange, lemon, etc. Try to avoid food that contains iron: Dark chocolate, egg yolk, sea fish, cereals, spinach, cabbage, etc.

Tumblr media
I sit on the couch in the common area, a mug of scalding hot tea clutched in my hands. I stare into the fire blazing in the hearth and sink into the cushions as best I can.
“I thought you didn't like human food.”
Startled, my body jerks when I tear my eyes away from the fire and tea sloshes over the side of the mug, onto my bare hands. I hiss in pain and jump up from the couch, shaking the tea from my hands. Tony stands behind the couch, his eyes wide.
“I don't usually. Tea helps me warm up, though. Especially in the middle of winter.” Tony reaches out for the mug and I hand it to him. “Tea isn't much of a food though is it?”
He sets the mug on the counter and grabs a dishtowel from the fridge handle. “I guess not,” he says. “Sorry I snuck up. Didn't mean to startle you.”
I take the towel from him and wipe my hands off before moving on to dab at the spots on my pant leg.
“It's fine, I should have been paying better attention.” I dab at the wet spot on my knee a little before giving up. “What’s up?”
“Bruce told me about your idea to create a blood substitute that would be viable both for human use and a food source for you.” Tony shakes his head. “You think we could do it?”
I shrug and plop down on the couch again. “Do you? Because Dr. Banner seems interested in at least trying.”
Tony takes a seat at the opposite end and folds one leg under himself so that he can face me.
“It's not that I don't think it can be done, we're literal geniuses. The time in which we have to do so is what worries me. You only have so much Hydra blood. It won't last forever. What are your options when it runs out if we don't finish in time?”
“I'm no stranger to rationing food, Tony. I've already started planning out meals so that there won't be any hunger issues along the way. If I get a little light-headed I'll stay in my room.” I scratch my cheek. “Even if it doesn't work for me, as long as it's a viable option for humans, it has to be worth it, right?”
He nods slowly. “You are so much different than I thought you’d be.”
My lips quirk up into a smile. “So you’ve said.”
“I’m serious. I can’t seem to figure you out. Just as soon as I think I’ve got all the information, Barnes or Rogers throw out some new shit or you come out of left field with something like sucking dick to stay fed.”
I burst out laughing. “I never said that I actually did that, just that it happened. But, I aim to surprise, Tony. And if I can surprise you, maybe my work here is done.”
“Oh, don’t go! We’re just getting to know each other.”
“Mmm, there’s nowhere else in the world I’d rather be.” I shiver and wrap my arms around myself.
“What’s wrong?”
I shake my head. “I’m just cold, is all. It happens.”
“Is there anything I can do?”
“Unless you want to cuddle, probably not.” I sigh and push myself up from the couch. “It may be best for me to just go curl up in bed.”
“Alright.” His eyes follow me as I pour my tea down the drain and head for the hallway. “Tell F.R.I.D.A.Y. to turn up the thermostat when you get there.”
I shoot him a smile and pull my hoodie tighter around me. “Thanks, Tony. Really. For everything.”
He smiles but waves me off. “Nothing to thank me for, (Y/N), I just want you to be comfortable.”
I shake my head and turn down the hallway with a smile playing at my lips. For as much as Tony has done for his team, and even for me, he doesn’t quite seem to know when or how to give himself credit.
Tumblr media
I shuffle into the lab around 2 pm and find Bruce and Tony hunched over a single tablet. I plop down onto a stool across from them. Neither look up.
“Morning,” Tony greets.
“It’s not morning,” I mumble. I lean on the table with my chin in my hand.
“Did you ever get warmed up last night?”
I nod. “I did, thanks. The vent is right over my bed. It was really nice.”
“I’m glad.”
“Mmm,” I hum. “What have you two been up to today?”
“We’ve been looking into your blood substitute,” Bruce answers.
“Oh?”
“We know that no one has been able to successfully do anything like this, so if it works, it could completely change the world.”
“But?”
“But there’s no way to know whether or not it would be a viable source of food for you.”
I shake my head. “Fine. If you can figure out a way to make something that can help other people, you should do that. You could change the lives of people with chronic anemia, sickle cell, dialysis patients, and millions of others. It’s worth it just for that.”
“I almost forgot you were a nurse for a moment,” Tony says.
“I’d thank you to remember that I’m more than just a vampire, Mr. Stark,” I say. I smirk when his eyes widen. "Anyway, where were you thinking of starting? I'm assuming that you're looking at artificial hemoglobin, at the very least."
Tony laughs. "Yes, actually. That's exactly what we were thinking."
"Perfect. I haven't been able to run tests myself, so I can only guess, but I believe that that is the one thing that my body metabolizes when I take in blood. On a base level, it holds the most nutritional value."
"It's a protein, so that would make sense," Bruce says. "Outside of baseline volume replacement, it's the one thing that's been hardest to reproduce for any kind of artificial blood supplement.”
I nod. “That would make sense.”
“I think we need to have a backup plan,” Tony says. “Just in case this doesn’t work out, where will you be getting blood?”
“I don’t know. Somehow I doubt it’d be as easy as crashing a bunch of Hydra parties and draining them for fun afterward.” I run my fingers over my lips as I think. “I guess I’d have to go out into the city and see if I can pull anything.”
Tony pulls a face. “If you have to.”
“Well it’s not like you guys want to be my blood bags, now do you? Mass anemia isn’t exactly ideal, especially in a team of Superheroes.” I bite my thumbnail, brows pulling together. “I’m not sure how enhanced blood would even affect me. I’m not sure it’s really something I want to experiment with.”
“Sounds like college,” Tony says.
“I know you’re trying to make a joke,” I say. “But do you have any idea what happens when you mix something like me with the biological material of someone like Doctor Banner? Hell, even Steve could be a risk.”
“She’s right, Tony,” Bruce admits. “You remember my cousin Jennifer?”
“Yeah, health problems a while back, right?”
“Yeah. I was the only one who could give her blood. Now she’s the greenest lawyer in all of New York.”
“Shit.”
“Now do you understand?” I ask. “There are too many variables, and I’m already enough of a danger as is.”
“I think you’re putting a little too much pressure on yourself there, (Y/N),” Tony says. “If you were a danger to us, you would’ve bit one of us already. Your self-control, from what I’m guessing, is off the charts. When you start sneaking around and nibbling on our necks, then I’ll consider you a danger.”
“I think you’re letting inexperience cloud your judgment.”
Tony stares at me. “What’s your hangup with this?”
“What I am, at the core, is dangerous. If there’s one misstep, I could seriously hurt someone, potentially myself if it comes down to isolation.” I shake my head. “It’s not a hangup, Tony. It’s being self-aware. I’ve seen too many good people hurt when they trust a monster.”
“You’re not a monster.”
“Hah! Cute. That’s really cute. But I’m not going to debate the definition with you, because I suspect we have very different experiences with it.”
“(Y/N),” Bruce says. “I’m sure he didn’t mean-”
“Bruce, don’t. Please. Just don’t.” I look between the two of them. “Look, if it doesn’t work for me, keep going with the project. It’ll help a lot of people.”
Bruce nods and I give a tight-lipped smile before excusing myself from the lab.
I run into Steve on the way down the hall and I just barely manage to sidestep him before crashing into him.
“What’s the rush, (Y/N)?” he asks.
“Sorry,” I shake my head. “I need to go back to my room. Clear my head.”
He follows after me and places his hand on my shoulder. I turn to face him and he stoops to look me in the eye. “You okay?”
I sigh. “I’ll be very honest, Steve, I’m tired.”
He nods and wraps his arm around my shoulders. “I’ll walk you back.”
I roll my eyes. “You don’t have to do that.”
“I don’t, but I’m gonna because I want to.”
Tumblr media
“You gonna tell me why you were in such a hurry to get away from the lab?”
I crawl onto the bed and sit with my back against the wall. “It’s overwhelming.”
“The lab?” Steve sits in the reading chair in the corner. “It can be. I figured you’d be used to that kind of stuff, though.”
I shake my head. “Not the lab. Working with Tony.”
“Ah.”
“He’s just… a lot, y’know? And we butt heads like you wouldn’t believe. Sometimes it feels like we were made to contradict each other.”
“And other times?”
“Other times it’s like someone else takes over and it’s so easy to talk to him. Like there’s something there.” I wring my hands. “Scares the shit out of me.”
“Why?”
“Because I’m practically immortal. I’m not… I don’t like attachments.”
“You’re attached to Buck ‘n’ I.”
“Neither of you have aged in the past eighty years. I’ve got more in common with you two than I do him.”
Steve shrugs. “Nothing’s happened yet.”
“Very true.” I frown. “Do I even want something to happen? And there’s no saying that he feels the same connection.”
“That’s right.”
“Who’s to say he’d want it anyway?” I laugh. “There I go, worrying about things that haven’t even happened yet. Not to mention things that would probably never happen to begin with.”
“It sounds like you’re talking yourself into and out of something,” Steve says.
“Better to do it now than later, right?” I let my head fall back against the wall and laugh. “Oh man, I’m fucked.”
Steve laughs. “In all the years I’ve known you, you’ve never talked like this.”
“What, the cursing?”
“No, like you have a crush on someone.”
“Well, Steven, when we were last around each other we were also around a bunch of grimy, rank, disgusting soldiers and SSR officers who were either skirt chasers, or women who weren’t exactly my type. Not to mention we were in the middle of a literal war. There wasn’t time for this… this-” I gesture wildly. “Mess.”
“Not even after the war?”
“No, I was pretty focussed on staying alive and off the government's radar, not to even mention S.H.I.E.L.D.’s. It was hard enough getting away from the SSR after the war, after Peggy took over, it got harder.”
“So you’ve been on the run for the better part of seventy years.”
“Pretty much, yeah.” I sigh. “Pretty sure this is the most time I’ve had to relax since you went into the ice, and I’m certain that should be a joke because being here is anything but relaxing.”
Steve snorts. “All things considered, it’s been relatively quiet since we dragged you in.”
“I’ve noticed.” A knock sounds at the door and I sit forward to see who’s there. “Yeah?”
The door opens and Tony appears in the entryway.
“Hey,” he says.
“What’s up?” I ask.
Tony glances at Steve. “Could I talk to you alone?”
“Oh, uh, sure.” Steve grins at me and I flip him off.
Steve laughs. “I’ll be going.”
Tony watches him go and turns back to me. “What was that about?”
“We were just talking.” I lean forward and pat the bed. “Have a seat, Stark.”
He plops down on the bed and braces himself with one arm. “So.”
“So…” I fold my arms. “You wanted to talk?”
“Right.” He sighs. “I want to apologize for what I said in the lab. It was insensitive and I wasn’t thinking.”
I blink slowly, surprised. “What?”
“I’m apologizing.”
I wave off his apology. “No, I heard that part, I just don’t get why. I was abrupt and ran away. If anything, I should be the one apologizing.”
“I brushed off your concern, (Y/N). And they were valid concerns.” He pauses for a moment. “I want to know more about what you are. I want to understand how we can help you, even if this little project doesn’t work out.”
“I… really?”
“What, you think I can’t recognize when I need to step back and learn something?”
“N-no, it’s just a lot of shocking content for one day is all. It’s a lot to process.”
“I get it,” he says. “If you don’t want to talk about it, that’s fine. We can sort something out.”
“No, it’s fine.” I bite my thumbnail before looking Tony in the eye. “Where do you want to start?”

Spider-Man better not have spider blood
You remember that plot line in the franchise-killing The Amazing Spider-Man 2: Electro Boogaloo where mini!Osbourne wants Spidey’s blood ‘cause he’s gonna live to be an old man with a disease that makes him look not like a power ranger baddie? And Spidey doesn’t want to give it to him because he fears what a transfusion will do?
Not entirely made up for the movie.
For you see, all the way back in The Amazing Spider-Man #10, Aunt May needs a transfusion, and Peter almost refuses (right in front of a couple of his fellow students) - though not because of what it might do to her, but because something in his blood might reveal his superpowers to the world (That’s real selfish, dude).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
However, 1960′s medical technology is unable to detect anything, so Pete’s second identity is safe for now. His strength, meanwhile, is weakened for the rest of the comic, so he has to work a bit harder to catch the baddie, who turns out to be a fellow employee of the Bugle named Frederick Foswell.
(He’s a mask-wearing mob boss named The Big Man. JJ thinks it’s Spider-Man. JJ thinks every bad guy is Spider-Man. Spider-Man, meanwhile, thinks it’s JJ.)
Tumblr media
Let’s talk about blood.
First, let’s get the “spider blood cells” out of the way, because if Peter actually had spider blood, the last thing he’d be worried about is a doctor finding out he has superpowers.
While spiders do have circulatory systems, they function incredibly differently than what you’re familiar with (Unless, of course, you study spider anatomy for a living). What you’d call their ‘blood’ is actually a more generic bodily fluid called hemolymph. Like human blood, it’s made of cells and proteins suspended in plasma, but unlike human blood, it’s not different from the fluid that exists between all the various tissues in the body.*
The hemolymph gets pumped by the heart into a cavity called the hemocoel, bathing organs directly with its oxygen and nutrients, and then gets pushed back into the heart. It doesn’t stay in one closed series of tubes going around and around.
This “open circulatory system” requires less energy than a closed one like you or I (or other animals more complex than arthropods) have, but doesn’t have the high pressures needed to get blood back to the heart particularly fast, so it wouldn’t work for any animal with an oxygen-hungry metabolism.
In humans, oxygen is transported via red blood cells, which are made up of a protein called hemoglobin. Some arthropods (which includes spiders) use the copper-based hemocyanin instead. It’s dissolved into the hemolymph - rather than existing as ‘blue blood cells’ - and is a much less efficient oxygen transport method than hemoglobin (carrying 17x less). So just like an open circulatory system, it’s probably not the best thing for a warm-blooded human-sized super agile spider hero.
The cells that do exist in spider blood exist as part of the immune system and for healing wounds and stuff. There’s a chart comparing human blood cells to spiders’ here. That does not mean they’re interchangeable and Aunt May’s body would appreciate getting infused with them...
Tumblr media
But let’s pretend for a moment that Peter doesn’t have superpowers. His blood is just regular ol’ blood whether the tests can tell or not.
We never do find out what blood type Peter is, or what blood type Aunt May is. In fact, at this point in the comics we don’t know exactly how Aunt May is related to Peter. The fact that they share a last name suggests Uncle Ben was Peter’s dad’s brother, unless they adopted him and he took their last name. Assuming the former, Peter has no blood relation to his aunt, which means the likelihood of him being a compatible donor is the same as the likelihood he’s a compatible donor for Liz or Flash or the doctor.
Among Caucasian Americans, 37% have O+ blood, and 33% have A+. So if we’re randomly guessing, both Peter and May would probably belong to one of those. O+ can donate red blood cells to A+, but not the other way around.
Here’s a quick refresher on blood types: If you’re type A like me, then your red blood cells have a protein on them called an “A antigen”, and your plasma has antibodies that attack red blood cells with the B antigen on them. If you’re type B, it’s the other way around. Type O red blood cells have neither antigen, and both antibodies in the plasma. And type AB red blood cells have both antigens, and no antibodies.
The antibodies are why you have to worry about who’s giving you blood. It’s also why the red blood cells have to be separated from the plasma before they can be donated. We’re often told O- is the “universal donor”, but if you just pumped a person’s O- blood straight into an A person, the A antibodies in the O plasma would attack the person’s own red blood cells (The B antibodies wouldn’t do anything, because a type A person already has them). AB plasma, on the other hand, can be given to anyone.
The +/- matters, too. That’s a separate antigen, known as Rh (D) (”Rhesus D”). If you’re a + you have it, and if you’re a - you don’t. Type - can be donated to type +, and + can be donated to a - exactly once (because after that, the body becomes primed to fight it).
If you botch a transfer with the wrong blood/plasma type, a patient can go into renal shock and die. So...don’t do that.
In addition to ABO and Rh, there are 33 other recognized “blood group systems”, with more than 600 antigens that can be found (or not found) in blood. Some differences are restricted to certain ethnic groups. For example, people with African ancestry might have red blood cells that lack the Duffy antigen, which actually gives them resistance against malaria. I don’t think we have to worry about Aunt May not having that one.
So, let’s assume Aunt May’s body will accept Peter’s donation. I don’t know what the practice was in the 1960′s,** but this day in age, blood has to go through testing. You can’t just draw blood out of a person, hand them a sandwich, then pump it into a person with a compatible blood type - even if you’re 102% positive both people have the same blood type.
Maybe you’d resort to that if you were stranded in the middle of nowhere and the person was going to die ‘cause there was no other blood lying around (I’m sure I’ve seen this on television or in a movie before...), but not if you’re in a hospital. Even if the hospital was out of the blood they needed, they’d call around the city.
The other problem is the volume of blood needed. According to the Red Cross, the average red blood cell transfusion is 3 pints. But when donating blood, they only take 1 (or 0.5 L). The average adult body has 10 pints (or 5 L) of blood - being a pathetic teenager, Peter would probably have less.
But say he did. That means he’d be giving his aunt around 30% of his entire blood supply.
Losing that much blood would likely send him into hypovolemic shock.
But I mean, Peter was once willing to give up the life of his child to save his dying aunt, so he probably wouldn’t mind killing himself to do it.
* A bit more detail: in a human’s closed circulatory system, red blood cells can’t leave the capillaries (ditto for certain proteins) so the “interstitial fluid” - i.e. the fluid in between tissues/organs - is similar to blood plasma, but it’s distinctly different from blood. In the open circulatory system spiders and other creatures have, the hemolymph is all there is.
** The first blood bank was established in Leningrad, in 1932. The American Red Cross blood program started in 1940, and in 1962 there were 4400 hospital blood banks in the US collecting 5-6 million units of blood per year.
The concept of blood typing and universal donors comes from circa 1910. Nowadays, blood is tested for many markers (in addition to ABO and Rh) that would make the blood unsuitable for transfusion, including Hepatitis B and C, HIV, syphilis, and Chagas disease.

Here’s a scene that didn’t occur to me how very very VERY wrong it was. I was working in two tightly seal greenhouses with propane heaters and feeling incredibly ill, but because I was getting stress sick a lot these days I just thought it was that and kept pushing myself to get through my tasks and not dwell on how I felt. At some point as I was staring at the plants I was tending I started to feel like I was in an altered state, sort of having visual distortions like a really mild trip or as if I was looking through a fisheye lense. My manager took his lunch break around 9am and I was alone in the store so I kept working.
I had been in the green houses for about 40 minutes when I texted the above photos to my spouse. I was intending to bitch about why we were heating plants in greenhouses (including perenials) when it wasn’t even dropping below 40 anymore and they had already made it through much colder weather for weeks. Suddenly he’s responding with GET OUT OF THERE NOW! because oh shit, CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING! I knew it was dangerous but I didn’t put it together and he works in a hospital and they see cases every year, usually poor folk trying to heat their homes in winter with the very same devices. I got out of there and walked into the store. Customers started coming in soon after and while I was working the till I started having trouble navigating the computer, counting money, and even remembering words. I still felt woozy as hell and very strange, with my pulse jackhammering away and I felt like I was floating or the floor wasn’t quite where it should be whenever I took a step. I mentioned the propane heaters to a regular I often chatted with and he proceeded to FREAK OUT and went and looked at the greenhouses. He opened the doors and told me very emphatically not to go back in today because the effects were accumulative. He left and the boss came back. I tried to explain very calmly and rationally why the greenhouses were dangerous, I tried to be diplomatic and unconfrontational, knowing that anytime I go against him it blows up but that this was really important. I tried to tell him I was sick but he threw a fit and stormed out of the building while I was still talking. He went out to the greenhouses and started slamming doors shut and raging about how we had to follow orders from the owner. I’m feeling incredibly nauseaus at this point and realize my lips and fingers are numb and I’m struggling to process the whole scene. I started texting my spouse again to tell him what’s happening because I’m honestly flabbergasted and a little scared. He says just leave. The bullshit meter is off the charts and I’m shaking and imagining kids collapsing in the greenhouses because we must follow orders.
I don’t know how many times I fought back against stuff that wasn’t right there and how many times I thought “I need this job”. My kid, my farm, my overworked spouse. It was my sense the only social place I’ve ever fit in and only job I genuinely enjoyed… My boss had gone back into the building, I followed behind in a daze of panic. I looked one last time at my phone screen: just leave. I wasn’t even thinking out the state I was in or my own health, I was thinking of being complicit in others getting hurt. I gathered myself and strode to the front counter and in a booming voice said “HEY ___, I QUIT. YOU’RE GOING TO GET SOMEONE KILLED!” and went right out the front door and drove home.
On the way I felt really aweful but what’s more the danger was still present to anyone who goes in the greenhouses. The heaters ran all night and they had been filling for hours. What if kids went in there??? And all the older people that loitered for ages as they picked through the plants. My pulse was still really hard and fast and I could feel heart palpitations but I figured it was just panic. I didn’t know until reading up later that I had gotten a big dose of poison. I was about halfway home when I realized something was really not right, my lips and fingers were still numb and I felt profoundly bad. I pulled into the fire hall for our township as it was on the way and when I got out of my Land Cruiser I stumbled and the world lurched around me. I fumbled up to a big secure door on the side of the building and started pounding. I knew there where first responders somewhere inside and I should probably get help but I needed to report the carbon monoxide danger first. I called for help and stumbled around the building pounding on doors but nothing happened. I stood outside and felt like I was about to puke while shaking and tried to assess. Not being able to come up with anything else I fumbled back up into the Land Cruiser and headed home. I had missed Lieblings who packed up the kid and rushed down to the store. The owner had come in to replace me because the manager can’t operate the skidsteer. Lieblings made a point of telling them that carbon monoxide is extremely dangerous and they see a number of cases every year at his work. I wasn’t just being a bad employee, this was a legit concern! They didn’t say anything and he left and found me at home. When I got into the house I called the police which was completely worthless because all they did was call the store and ask if it was vented and the owner said yes and that was that. Then I called the fire department for the township the store was in (not the one I stopped at) but I never got through and was only able to leave a message. I was frantic at this point and asked them to call me back about a carbon monoxide risk but they never did. Finally I called the Nurse Line and because I was coherent she said I’d be fine but also that there was nothing she could do about reporting it and I was having a meltdown over my inability to actually do anything. Then I texted my co-workers to tell them what happened and to be careful. One actually had a friend who lost his whole family to carbon monoxide poisoning and he took it very seriously. The other employee had been assigned to sit in the greenhouse the night before and deadhead flowers for hours after the heaters had been freshly turned on and was still sick from it. For the rest of the day I felt aweful and slept through most of the afternoon and evening. The loss of income and the first job I really liked and felt suited for was a blow (I LOVED working in a feed store and I loved the customers, just not the management). The stress of feeling like I let down my family was a major one, but Lieblings was quick to point out I’m more valuable unemployed than dead.
Later, the bookkeeper would tell me the heaters had wilted ALL the flowers on the plants into goo and she “had never seen karma work so fast”.
PSA: Carbon monoxide is clear, odorless, tasteless gas leftover from combustion fuels (heaters, fireplaces, stoves, vehicles, generators, etc.). It is extremely toxic because your blood readily binds up with CO and displaces oxygen. So even if you have plenty of oxygen immediately available, your hemoglobin is going to glom onto as much CO as it can.
If you experience exposure go to the hospital! They can give you pure oxygen and flush it out of your system faster, otherwise it takes hours to cycle out and and the whole time you can be sustaining tissue damage that can lead to health issues. They can also test your blood to see how much is in your system. Never ever ever fuck around with carbon monoxide. People who smoke, have asthma, and young/elderly/sick are especially susceptible. People with past cases of poisoning may be permanently sensitive. Even small amounts can cause brain/organ damage or death and damage may occur without immediate symptoms, so exercise extreme caution. Have someone else drive you to the hospital as you may pass out on the way. Vent everything properly and use carbon monoxide detectors in your home.

High Creatinine Levels – Causes, Symptoms, And Treatment

What if your body loses its ability to eliminate toxic substances? Well, it is a possibility, given how careless we can be with our diet and health.
The kidneys help in removing toxins from the body through urine. But what happens when your diet and other factors cause loss of kidney function? It leads to high creatinine levels in your blood, which can cause serious damage to your health. Are your creatinine levels unusually high? Here are some remedies to lower creatinine levels.
What Is Creatinine?
Creatine is a chemical waste that is created by the metabolic activities of your muscles. The main source of creatinine is creatine, which is a significant molecule that helps in producing energy for the muscles.
About 2% of your body’s creatine is converted to creatinine daily and transported to the kidneys via the bloodstream. And your kidneys filter out most of the creatinine and eliminate it from your body via urine.
Remember, a low urine creatinine level may be an indication of high blood creatinine, but is not of much concern in most cases.
Given below is a creatinine level chart that reveals the normal and abnormal ranges of creatinine according to one’s age, gender, muscle mass, etc.
What Causes High Creatinine?
If the functioning of your kidneys is interrupted or impaired by any condition, it can cause your creatinine levels to go high. Some of the most common causes of chronic kidney diseases or elevated creatinine levels in adults include:
Diabetes
High blood pressure
Urinary tract infections
Kidney infections
Abnormal muscle breakdown resulting from rhabdomyolysis
Drugs like cimetidine
Consuming large amounts of dietary meat
Let us now look at the disturbing symptoms that may arise due to high blood creatinine levels.
What Are The Symptoms Of High Creatinine?
The symptoms of high blood creatinine levels and kidney dysfunction often vary widely and may not be correlated to each other. Some individuals may have severe kidney disease and high creatinine levels without displaying any symptoms while others usually develop symptoms like
Swelling or edema
Shortness of breath
Dehydration
Fatigue
Nausea and vomiting
Confusion
It is very important to get your kidneys diagnosed periodically if you have high creatinine levels. Some diagnosis methods that can be used to screen your kidneys for any abnormalities are discussed below.
Diagnosis
If your blood test reveals that you have high creatinine levels, you can undergo the following tests:
Blood Urea Nitrogen Test (BUN) – This test checks the functioning of your kidneys by measuring the amount of urea nitrogen in your blood. Too much or too little of urea nitrogen often hints at kidney problems.
Basic Metabolic Panel Test (BMP) – This is a combination of tests that assess the important body functions.
Comprehensive Metabolic Panel Test (CMP) – This test is an ordered panel of 14 tests, which gives your doctor important information regarding the health of your kidneys, liver, electrolyte and acid/base balance, etc.
These are some common tests to diagnose high blood creatinine levels. Listed below are some of the best remedies that can help reduce your creatinine levels and improve the functioning of your kidneys naturally and effectively.

Benefits of Kadaknath
Tumblr media
MENSTRUAL PAINS & IRREGULARITY             There are several natural & dietary solutions for curbing menstrual pains. They can come in handy when you’re actively trying to avoid OTC pain killers. After all, taking pain killers regularly can cause some serious side effects in the long run; including loss of hearing, kidney damage, stomach ulcers, and various cardiovascular diseases. So even during the difficult days of the month, the smart way is to keep things natural.             The best way is to do that is by keeping your diet in check. Your body loses a lot of nutrients during menstruation and replenishing them as fast as possible is the easiest way to ease off the process. Highly rich source of the required nutrition is Kadaknath eggs & chicken. Apart from being high on vitamins & protein, they contain 97% less fat than regular eggs & chicken. This nutrition is also helpful in keeping the cycle consistent & regular. Iron is another essential nutrient that is required to reinstate the blood level lost during menstruation.
ENHANCED RESISTANCE IN ELDERLY: Kadaknath eggs & chicken contain 40% more protein than regular eggs & chicken. It is one of the richest sources of protein, that too without the caveat of being high on cholesterol & saturated fats. The fat content is in fact 97% lower than regular poultry, effectively making Kadaknath a super food. Being rich in Vitamin B6 plays another key role in preventing heart diseases. A trump card Kadaknath holds over regular poultry is the near absence of saturated fats, which in many studies have been directly related to several heart disease. Instead, Kadaknath is rich in Omega 3 & Omega 6 fatty acids that exhibit beneficial cardiovascular effects.
As you’re entering your senior years, some of the vital bodily functions become inefficient. One of them is, of course, the immune system. Staying healthy and free of diseases at old age will not only save you from doctor’s visits but will also allow your body to maintain itself rather than fight external threats.‘Heme Iron’ is a form of iron that your body recognizes & absorbs easily and is abundant in Kadaknath. Old age doesn’t have to be a challenge. If you choose your diet right and include power foods like Kadaknath in it, you’ll continue to enjoy life’s happy moments without worrying about your health.
MIGRAINES & HEADACHES             A third most common disease in the world is Migraine with an estimated global prevalence of 14.7% (that’s around 1 in 7 people)." Migraine is more prevalent than diabetes, epilepsy, and asthma combined & chronic migraine affects approximately 2% of the world population. People have distinctive triggers for migraine (specific foods, bright lights, strong odors, alcohol, high altitude, etc.) & hence it is impossible to eliminate all the triggers.
We have an alternative to a heavy diet chart, which is Kadaknath eggs & chicken. It has long been proven that Kadaknath eggs & meat help in curing migraines & post-delivery headaches. This is mainly because of a rich fatty acid profile, especially omega 3 & omega 6. They’re also rich with riboflavin & niacin, giving them the ability to protect you from severe migraine headaches. We recommend 2-3 servings of eggs or chicken per week to keep the nutrition at par. Try it to see the effect for yourself.
TIREDNESS/FATIGUE              A busy routine and a demanding work life mean its second nature for many to be always tired. We add fuel to the fire by consuming a fat & carbohydrate-heavy diet. No wonder every chore seems like a burden. So, if you’re tired of being tired, introduce Kadaknath in your diet. Eggs & chicken of Kadaknath contains high amounts of 18 essential amino acids, especially BCAA (Branch Chain Amino Acids).             They have the power to ward off the mental & physical fatigue and accompany your mind & body to endure stressful days. Primarily, this is because of the relationship between low BCAAs and tryptophan. Having BCAA rich sources like Kadaknath eggs will prevent this process. By keeping the tryptophan monster away, amino acids further improve your short-term memory and processing abilities. So that’s another plus for your work life!
BODYBUILDING              When you try to reach your bodybuilding goals, the biggest challenge is the body fat percentage gets reduced as low as possible. We know a lot of fitness enthusiasts will agree that a well-balanced diet plays the most key role in overcoming that hurdle. Even if eggs & chicken are universally considered as a great protein source, a lot of you don’t know that regular poultry eggs & chicken can contain as much as 25% fat. So, whereas you’re consuming the meat & eggs for protein, a lot of fat tags along. So how about a magic source where you get 40% more protein yet none of the fat? Kadaknath eggs & chicken contain 40% more protein & 97% less fat compared to broiler chicken.             Apart from the protein, they also provide you with 18 amino acids out of which 8 are highly essential for your body’s growth. Vitamin D in the meat & eggs helps in calcium absorption and bone strengthening. Another benefit comes from the rich presence of zinc, which naturally regulates the testosterone levels, availing you a chance to not depend on steroids or any other artificial stimuli. Moreover, they taste great! Change the eggs & chicken in your diet regiment with Kadaknath and see the results for yourself.
HEMOGLOBIN & RBC             Hemoglobin is an iron-rich protein it is essential to maintain normal levels of hemoglobin in your blood for your body to function properly i.e. for adult men 14 to 18 g/dl and for adult women 12 to 16 g/dl. When the level of hemoglobin decreases significantly, it can cause weakness, fatigue, headaches, shortness of breath, dizziness, rapid heartbeat, and poor appetite. It is a very crucial stage when a female starts menstruating as the body is losing out a lot of blood your body needs more iron at that point, and if you don’t take any precautions early then it can lead to anemia in the future. We’ve spoken to experts and found Iron deficiency is the most common cause of low hemoglobin levels.
This is where Kadaknath eggs & meat outshines many of the traditional foods considered to be rich in iron. Besides containing superior iron content in the form of ‘heme iron’, which is easier to absorb, they also contain high levels of Folic Acid (a B-Complex Vitamin) which is required in making & regenerating of RBCs. Try it yourself and see the difference. We recommend 2-3 servings of Kadaknath eggs & chicken in a week.
GROWTH & IMMUNITY IN KIDS             As fast as children come from school to home back again, their brains & bodies are just as rapidly growing and changing. The lack of saturated fats reduced the risk of future heart conditions & keeps the weight in check. About 1/3rd of kids ages, 4 to 8 are not getting enough calcium, which is necessary for developing bone mass, nearly all of which is built during their childhood and adolescence. Kadaknath eggs & chicken are rich in calcium & vitamin D, which not only strengthens bones but may help prevent type 1 diabetes and other diseases. Another critical nutrient required in children’ growth is Iron, which is abundant in Kadaknath.               Furthermore, the phosphorus in the meat helps in maintaining healthy teeth, bones, and ensures proper functioning of kidneys, liver and the central nervous system. It also provides selenium which contains antioxidants that help control free radicals and improve their immune system. Kadaknath eggs are high in retinol, alpha, and beta-carotene, and lycopene, all derived from vitamin A, and all vital for healthy eyesight in children. Kadaknath eggs & chicken are super foods that deserve a place in your child’s diet.
ASTHMA & TB             If you have got asthma, you may be curious about whether certain foods and diet decisions that may assist you to manage your condition. At the same time, eating fresh, nutritious foods could improve your overall health also as your asthma symptoms. Eggs & meat of Kadaknath is a thorough source for some of the nutrients that can help reducing asthma symptoms & attacks, such as Vitamin D which helps in reducing the number of asthma attacks in children aged 6 to 15.             The eggs and meat are also rich in Vitamin A, which may be beneficial in children with asthma because a 2018 study found that children with asthma typically had lower levels of vitamin A in their blood than kids without asthma. In kids with asthma, higher levels of vitamin A also corresponded to better lung function. These benefits also help adults who’re suffering from TB. Kadaknath proves to be beneficial here too since it contains the vitamins, magnesium, selenium & a rich profile of omega 3 fatty acids. Besides curbing the asthma symptoms in children, many of the nutrients present in Kadaknath eggs & meat help in healthy development in kids.

Can Type 2 Diabetes Be Conquered Eating a Ketogenic Diet?
Tumblr media
Type 2 Diabetes: A Growing Epidemic
Type 2 Diabetes (T2D) is a chronic metabolic condition that occurs when the body either doesn't produce enough insulin, or it is unable to effectively deliver insulin into cells.
T2D differs from type 1 diabetes in that the body still produces insulin. Because of the defective use of insulin, blood sugar builds up in the blood causing blood sugar levels to rise.
The goal is to consistently achieve normal blood sugar (glucose) levels to minimize risk of diabetes associated complications such as diseases of the eye, heart, nerves, kidney, digestion, feet, gums, blood circulation.
What Are the Risk Factors and Who is Affected by Type 2 Diabetes?
Age, genetics, food choices and environment (activity level, taking medication, etc.) are all factors that can contribute to T2D.
Type 2 diabetes originally coined as adult onset diabetes and its epidemic which has plagued us for over thirty-five years has risen from 108 million in 1980 to 422 million in 2014 (1). Once thought of as an adult disease type 2 has now expanded to include children.
Type 2 diabetes has effected children at the same rate as type 1 in the United States and is growing in other parts of the world: Canada, Japan, Austria, United Kingdom and Germany (2). Japan has seen an approximate fourfold rise in the incidence of type 2 diabetes in 6 to 15 year-olds, and between 8 and 45% of newly presenting children and adolescents in the U.S. have type 2 diabetes (3).
These staggering statistics are not just overwhelming because of the numbers, they are astounding because type 2 diabetes can be avoided and conquered simply with healthy diet and lifestyle choices.

What Are Healthy Blood Sugar Level Ranges?
For those who live with any type of blood sugar disorder (pre-diabetes, diabetes, etc.) the aim is to attain normal fasting blood sugar ranges through diet while minimizing or eliminating diabetes medication that increases the risk of blood sugar fluctuations. The aim is to achieve:
A1C between 4 to 5.5% (also known as hemoglobin A1c, HbA1c, glycated hemoglobin or glycohemoglobin). A1C tells you your average level of blood sugar over the past 2 to 3 months.
Blood sugar level below 100 mg/dl (3.6-5.4 mmol/l).
While public associations (American Diabetes association...) and government agencies (World Health Organization) recommend higher ranges for people with diabetes see the chart below (4), pay attention to the note under the table.
If you follow tables such as the one provided by the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) below, you may be misled into thinking your blood sugar is in a healthy range if it falls in the pre diabetes of 100-125 mg/dl.
Upon Waking Before Meals (pre prandial) 90+ Min After Meals (post prandial) Non-Diabetic - 4 to 5.9 mmol/L under 7.8 mmol/L Type 2 Diabetes - 4 to 7 mol/L under 8.5 mmol/L Type 1 Diabetes 5 to 7 mmol/L 4 to 7 mol/L 5 to 9 mmol/L Children w/ Type 1 Diabetes 4 to 7 mmol/L 4 to 7 mol/L 5 to 9 mmol/L
Note: The non-diabetic figures are provided for information but are not part of NICE guidelines.
After meal blood sugar range is especially important because it tells you how much that food or meal contributes to the rise in blood sugar otherwise associated with the risk of diabetes complications. So, eating foods that trigger the least blood sugar spike after consumption are the healthiest choices.
To avoid diabetes complications, maintain blood sugar in the non-diabetic normal range. These government recommendations are high if your personal goal is to "cure" your diabetes and stave off associated complications.
Can a Ketogenic Diet Help Put an End to Type 2 Diabetes?
Available treatment options (diet, exercise, medication, and insulin therapy) help keep blood sugar in range. However, none compare to a ketogenic diet.
Tumblr media
The ketogenic diet (maximum of 50 grams of total carbs per day) is by far the best blood sugar management tool because the individual is not consuming sugar, or sugar formed through the ingestion of carbohydrate, and therefore excess sugar is not circulating in the blood. In essence the underlying cause of high blood sugar is removed. In fact there are many experts that support this ketogenic approach for treating type 2 diabetes (5, 6, 7, 8, 9).
The Ketogenic Diet Improves Blood Sugar and Cholesterol
Findings from a one-year randomized control study with obese type 2 diabetes volunteers was published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. It compared a < 50 gram carbohydrate, 58% fat diet with a 53% carbohydrate 30% fat diet. Both diets produced weight loss and blood sugar improvements. The ketogenic diet resulted in "greater improvements in the cholesterol, blood sugar stability (vs. fluctuations), and reductions in diabetes medication supporting its use an effective strategy for the optimization of T2D management" (10).
While some may voice concern with the significant drops in blood sugar for those on medication who follow a ketogenic diet, it seems working with a physician to lower and eliminate medication would be wise rather than avoid a natural nutrition plan that can normalize blood sugar levels (11, 12).
How Many Carbs per Day?
When following a ketogenic diet, you should stay below 50 grams of total carbs per day. As evidenced in a study comparing a ketogenic diet (KD) consisting of 20 grams of total carbs a day (unlimited amounts of animal foods , i.e., meat, chicken, turkey, other fowl, fish, shellfish and eggs; limited amounts of hard cheese (e.g., cheddar or Swiss, 4 ounces per day), fresh cheese (e.g., cottage or ricotta, 2 ounces per day), 2 cups of salad vegetables and 1 cup of non-starchy vegetables) with a 55% high carbohydrate but low glycemic index diet (HCLGID).
Tumblr media
It seems both had positive effects on blood sugar yet the KD resulted in significant improvements in hemoglobin A1c and body weight and high-density lipoprotein and cholesterol as compared to the HCLGID group (13).
For type 2 diabetes, what you don't eat is as important as what you choose to eat. While it may be confusing to read information from expert nutrition groups suggesting "Carbohydrates-Part of a Healthful Diabetes Diet" (14) understand that no matter what the portion by its very nature carbohydrates will raise blood sugar. This is counterproductive to any healthy blood sugar goal.
How Many Carbs per Meal?
Consume foods containing proteins, fats and carbohydrates with 5-15 grams of carbohydrates per meal (non starchy vegetables, fat full dairy products, nuts and seeds). Keep in mind that large amounts of low carbohydrate foods can spike blood sugar (tomatoes and tomato sauce, winter squash, berries, etc.) just like low amounts of high carbohydrate foods (starchy vegetables, bread, rice, pasta, cereal etc).
Additionally, the diet delivery method (online vs. in person) does not seem to change the ketogenic advantage. Type 2 diabetics improved glycemic control and lost more weight when following an online ketogenic program when compared with a conventional, low-fat diabetes diet online program (15).
Take Home Message
When managing type 2 diabetes, know that monitoring total carbohydrate intake is a critical factor for tight blood sugar control. Consuming less than 50 grams of total carbohydrates on a ketogenic diet, while also paying attention to any carbohydrate portion size, can allow diabetics blood sugar to hit the normal blood sugar range.
The best way to control blood sugar is to avoid sugar and foods that easily convert to sugar after it is consumed, such as carbohydrate foods and beverages, like cereals, bread and bakery products, soda and fruit juice, fruits and starchy veggies (potato, peas and carrots, corn) rice and pasta.
A ketogenic lifestyle is a powerful health optimization tool to help maintain normal blood sugar levels, lower or eliminate medication and reduce the risks of any medical health issues that follow uncontrolled blood sugar.
The KetoDiet App can be a primary resource for those who want to be successful while utilizing a ketogenic diet as a support for weight loss and blood sugar control. To find the recipe within your carb ranges to specify allergy preferences, use the filtering tool in Recipes.

Everything is Connected -- Here's How: | Tom Chi | TEDxTaipei
Translator: Queenie Lee Reviewer: Rhonda Jacobs hey. (viewers) hi there. My name is Tom Chi, and ever for the reason that I used to be a younger child, I used to be decided to understand how the complete universe worked, and that fascination led me to my first job, at age 15 – I did astrophysical study with the Harvard-Smithsonian Observatory in lively galactic nuclei. Now, years after being a scientist and astrophysicist, I slowly sort of matured out of that and entered the arena of individuals. It virtually seems that the world of humans is way harder to comprehend than the entire universe. But I stayed with it, and within the process of being a technologist, an inventor, and an entrepreneur, I’ve learned rather a lot about humans. What i will speak to you today is slightly little bit of what I’ve learned. Considering as I be taught about humans, I get very interested in the gaps that still remain for us as human beings and us as a civilization, relative to the challenges which can be in entrance of us. And one of those gaps that I’ve visible is round this idea, and the proposal is a rather simple one. It is the suggestion that the whole lot is hooked up. You’ve gotten usually heard this many, generally, actually. It can be an detail of nearly every religious way of life of humankind during all of historical past. But at any time when I hear individuals speak and mention this phrase that "we are all linked," they do so in a way the place it can be whatever they wish that they might believe was once actual, that it can be some thing that is summary; that it is esoteric; that it’s a factor that is unprovable, but they simply particularly desire the universe was once like that. And at present i’m right here to explain that the whole thing quite is hooked up, and now not in some abstract, esoteric approach however in an extraordinarily concrete, direct, understandable approach. And i am going to try this with three exclusive studies: a story of the heart, a narrative of the breath, and a narrative of the mind. So let’s . So all of you on this viewers today, your hearts are beating right at this second. And the cause that your hearts beat is when you consider that you must transfer this molecule by way of your blood known as hemoglobin. And hemoglobin contains this smaller molecule that is known as heme B, which is what we see over here. Now, on the heart of heme B is a single atom of iron, so in a technique, on the coronary heart of our coronary heart is this little iron atom. And this is truely relatively a critical part of the hemoglobin molecule considering the fact that this is the item that permits us to bind oxygen and transfer that via our circulatory approach. However one factor that you may not be aware of is that the one way that iron is created within the universe, is by means of supernovas and by means of supermassive stars. So the universe began with clearly no iron in any respect. Hydrogen. Helium – And most effective through the system of those stars forming, exploding, forming and exploding, was iron ready to be created that now publications by way of every certainly one of our veins. However the story doesn’t really end there. In view that – why do stars preserve forming? Sincerely, after a supernova occurs, it could be a very long time earlier than those gases come again collectively to form a star. So in an effort to understand how this works, we ought to comprehend why stars would type.Although there’s a couple different ways that stars kind, some of the robust is that this process: galactic collisions. And these are portraits from the Hubble house Telescope, they usually show by means of a series of panels – which can be honestly distinct galaxies in view that this procedure takes, like, a half of billion to one thousand million years – distinct galaxies what the process of a galactic collision would seem like. So across the top, you get the galaxies slowly coming collectively, and within the backside three frames, you see them smashing into every other, and their interstellar gases mixing, and in the procedure of doing that, they set on hearth with new big name formation across the entire galaxy, and whatever stays after the collision. Now, even right here is just not the end of the story. In view that why on the earth would galaxies collide? This doesn’t appear like a factor that will have to simply occur for no reason. So, to recognize this, we’ll have to scoot again way, far more. And here we’re on the degree of seeing about a hundred,000 galaxies. So last slide, two galaxies. This slide, a hundred,000 galaxies. Each such a dots here’s a galaxy that is in our supercluster. And we’re that pink dot over here, the place it says, "you’re right here." And these glowing traces aren’t galaxies. These glowing lines are the trajectories that these galaxies are going to take through gravity over the approaching billions of years on this gorgeous gravitational dance of all these galaxies swirling collectively in a gravitational constitution that we name Laniakea, which in Hawaiian manner the immeasurable heaven. And it’s this procedure, the gravitational dance of one hundred,000 galaxies swirling together, which drive the system of galaxies colliding, which pressure massive star formation, which pressure the procedure of creating the iron that publications by way of each considered one of our veins with each heartbeat. And in this manner, every body of our heartbeats is hooked up. Now we’re going to transfer to a 2d story. And this story is ready breath. Taking a deep breath is among the simplest methods to connect with our own bodies – a deeply grounded, calming breath. But taking a deep breath used to be no longer some thing that used to be possible on this earth three billion years ago. On this slide, we’ve the composition of the surroundings of the earth for the period of that time period. We had concerning the same quantity of nitrogen, however we had virtually no oxygen at all. So you possibly can be taking a breath in vain three billion years ago. And we virtually had a big amount of carbon dioxide. And the online result was once an almost inhabitable planet. The only organisms that might exist that point had been single-celled organisms inside stromatolites and different closed areas. Now, fortunately for us, a kind of organisms that used to be alive at the moment was once some thing called a cyanobacteria. That’s a image of it in the heritage. And this organism has the certain trick that we call "photosynthesis," the potential to move take vigour from the solar and transform carbon dioxide into oxygen. And over the path of billions of years, so beginning from two and a half billion years ago, step by step these micro organism unfold throughout the planet and changed all that carbon dioxide in the air into the oxygen that we have. And it used to be an extraordinarily sluggish procedure. First, they had to saturate the seas, then they needed to saturate the oxygen that the earth would soak up, and most effective then, subsequently, would oxygen begin to build up within the surroundings. So that you see, simply after about 900 million years in the past, oxygen begins to construct up in the surroundings. And about 600 million years in the past, some thing relatively effective occurs. The ozone layer types from the oxygen that has been launched in the surroundings. And it feels like a small deal, like we talked about the ozone a couple decades ago, however it without a doubt turns out that before the ozone layer existed, earth was once now not particularly able to preserve difficult, multicellular existence. We had single-celled organisms, we had a few easy, multicellular organisms, however we did not really have anything like you or me. And rapidly after the ozone layer came into position, the earth was in a position to preserve elaborate multicellular lifestyles. There was a Cambrian explosion of existence in the seas. And the primary plants acquired onto land. Correctly, there used to be truly no life on land ahead of that.An extra strategy to see this is, this is variety of a chart of almost always many of the animals that you guys are aware of. And right at the backside in time is the formation of the ozone layer. Like nothing that you are acquainted with today would exist without the contributions of these tiny organisms over those billions of years. And where are they now? Good certainly, they under no circumstances fairly left us. The direct descendants of the cyanobacteria have been eventually captured via vegetation. They usually’re now known as chloroplasts. So it is a zoom-in of a plant leaf – and we ordinarily ate some of these guys today – where plenty of little chloroplasts are nonetheless trapped – contributing photosynthesis and making power for the plants that proceed to be the opposite half of our lungs on the earth. And on this way, our breaths are very deeply united. Each out-breath is mirrored by the in-breath of a plant, and their out-breath is mirrored through our in-breath. I will take slightly aside here for a second with this story. Because suppose for a moment – and this is a concept scan – assume you were any such little organisms two billions 12 months ago. You probably born. You are living a couple weeks. You die. And also you variety of feel like, well, nothing really converted. I imply, I had no cause in this life. Like, the sector I came to is strictly the same as the world that I left. However what you should not have understood is that each breath that you just took contributed to the likelihood of numerous lives after you – lives that you’d in no way see, lives that we’re all part of today. And it is worth thinking that possibly the which means of our lives are clearly now not even within the scope of our figuring out. Considering it is authentic of each this sort of organisms, and it may also be genuine of us.Final story of connection is the story of the intellect. This is not "our minds are all connected in some psychic method or some scientifically unexplainable way," i am going to give an explanation for the connection of the intellect by way of the easy story of this instrument. This is a piano. And i have sincerely a just right relationship with pianos. Thanks, mom. She gave me piano lessons very early. I think you have got to if you are Asian. However – (Laughter) a beautiful thing about this instrument is it’s so nuanced and so textured and so intricate, and so much magnificence can also be comprised of it that humans can make an entire career, they are able to make an complete lifetime out of taking part in this instrument. Legit musicians, concert pianists get to grasp this instrument deeply, intimately. And by way of it, they’re equipped to create with sound in a method that just dazzles us, and challenges us, and deepens us. However if you have been to seem into the mind of a live performance pianist, and also you used all of the latest ways of imaging it, an interesting thing that you would see is how much of their brain is actually dedicated to this instrument. The capability to coordinate ten fingers. The ability to work the pedal. The sensation of the sound. The understanding of tune conception. All these matters are represented as unique patterns and buildings in the mind. And now that you have that idea to your mind, appreciate that this gorgeous pattern and structure of idea in the mind was not possible even only a couple hundred years in the past. Since the piano was once no longer invented until the yr 1700. This gorgeous pattern of concept in the mind failed to exist 5,000 years ago. And on this way, the skill of the piano, the connection to the piano, the beauty that comes from it used to be now not a thinkable idea until very, very lately in human history. And the invention of the piano itself was no longer an impartial concept. It required a depth of mechanical engineering. It required the history of stringed instruments. It required so many patterns and structures of suggestion that led to the probability of its invention after which the possibility of the mastery of its play. And it leads me to a inspiration i might like to share with you guys, which I name "The Palette of Being." due to the fact that every person are born into this life having available to us the experiences of humanity that has come up to now.We almost always are only ready to color with the patterns of ideas and the approaches of being that existed earlier than. So if the piano and the best way of enjoying it is a manner of being, this is a way of being that didn’t exist for individuals 5,000 years ago. It used to be a color in the Palette of Being that you couldn’t paint with. In this day and age if you’re born, that you could certainly gain knowledge of the ability; which you could learn to be a pc scientist, one more colour that used to be now not to be had only a couple hundred years ago. And our lives are particularly wonderful for the following intent. We’re born into this lifestyles. We have now the potential to go make this targeted painting with the colours of being which can be around us on the factor of our delivery. But in the approach of existence, we even have the exact possibility to create a new colour. And that could come from the invention of a new thing. A self-driving car. A piano. A computer. It could come from the best way that you simply express your self as a person. It might come from a section of art work that you simply create. Each one of these approaches of being, these things that we put out into the world via the creative system of mixing collectively all the different things that existed at the factor that we had been born, permit us to broaden the Palette of Being for all of society after us. And this leads me to a quite simple technique to go body the whole lot that we now have talked about today.Considering that I think a variety of us understand that we exist in this form of the marvelous universe, however we consider about this universe as we’re this tiny, unimportant factor, there is this huge bodily universe, and within it, there’s the biosphere, and inside of that, that’s society, and inside us, we’re only one individual out of seven billion people, and how do we subject? And we consider about this as like a container relationship, where all the goodness comes from the external to the inside, and there may be nothing quite unique about us.But the Palette of Being says the opposite. It says that the best way that we are in our lives, the way that we affect our friends and our family, to change the best way that they’re equipped to paint someday, starts offevolved to vary the way that communities then have an effect on society, the best way that society could then influence its relationship to the biosphere, and the way that the biosphere could then influence the bodily planet and the universe itself. And if it’s a feasible factor for cyanobacteria to absolutely develop into the bodily atmosphere of our planet, it’s definitely a feasible factor for us to do the identical thing. And it results in a particularly important question for the way in which that we’ll do this, the way wherein we’re going to do this. On account that now we have been given this robust reward of recognition. And due to the fact that of this present, now we have the capability to deeply realize our connectedness, in the way we have not visible other animals having the possibility to take action. And considering we are able to deeply appreciate our connectedness, we are the ones which have the determination on how we will go use that skills, how we will go use it to construct our societies and to shape our lives.I believe the rationale that the entire spiritual traditions have obtained this inspiration of "we’re all connected inside of it" is due to the fact that the societies that without a doubt deeply undertake this suggestion are the ones that over time deepen their level of consideration, deepen their stage of expression, deepen their level of understanding for every different. That is the motive that this proposal pops up time and again at the core of spiritual traditions. And i am hoping by way of this speak you see that the rationale that it seems on the core of science is it’s surely anything that’s just literally actual of the physical universe at each single level of organization and each single manifestation of topic, power, and life.So i’d like us all to return along side this skills and comprehend this actuality about how the universe is, that considering that our hearts, our breath, and our mind are connected on this method, we need to venture ourselves to understand what it approach to live from this reality. Thank you. (Applause) .

Update on stress, work, and other things
I thought I’d give everyone an update on how things are going with me. I got the report on the emergency ultrasound on my abdomen and for the most part, things are good. There were two areas of concern that were flagged: I have fatty liver and there was residualization and vascularity around my pancreas. The first one is age related and because I’m not a size negative 12; the second one was written off as age related, however, I’m not sure what to really make of it as when vascularity is found in areas of concern, it’s hardly ever a good thing or something that can be written off as normal. I have a follow up ultrasound in mid-September and then we’ll go from there on a few things. I also got back the bloodwork results and like the ultrasound, for the most part it was good with only a few areas of concern: my iron levels for my age group were almost critically high while my hemoglobin was laughably low(iron was at a 46 and hemoglobin was at a 6), my A1C was at a 4.5, and my fasting glucose was at a 48. These results are nothing new for me as I’ve had these kind of results my whole life and because the hemoglobin hasn’t been at zero(it’s come close at a 3) and my iron hasn’t been below 15(the lowest it’s ever been is at 18); it’s not considered a crucial issue by the medical field(despite evidence that it probably should be looked at by a hematologist; especially since my maternal great-grandma had a blood disorder related to anemia); when it comes to the A1C and fasting glucose, this is normal for me as well(and I’ve had fasting glucose levels in the mid-30s before), however, because I’m not fitting the narrative of ‘she’s obese so therefore she must have type 2 diabetes’, no one looks into it and when I had a fasting glucose of 90(which is considered normal)once, I was immediately labeled as prediabetic; even though my glucose level was considered normal according to every known diabetes screening chart. I figure the cause for these issues will eventually be found in my autopsy report so it should be an interesting read once that happens. Now to the work front: I’m pretty certain the board president is trying to make me have an epic heart attack or stroke because his demands and expectations have ratcheted up to Twilight Zone levels and there is no way I can do any of them; it doesn’t help that the 3rd in command at the organization I work for is coming to Bismarck from Grand Forks(a six hour drive one way)to have a ‘chat’ with me on May 10th; at this point, I’m rooting to be fired, being forced to resign, or being forced to have dinner with an incredibly handsome man in a really nice restaurant in the deepest darkest shadows as some form a fundraiser type thing only for the man to be part of the mob and I’m forced to be his wife or concubine(if the third one happens, I prefer the Irish mob or the Russian mob). I’m still looking for a new job and I hope to have one by the end of summer. If work isn’t trying to kill me, having my mom come visit me at the end of May will definitely make the likelihood of me having an epic heart attack or stroke in the pretty high-seriously how have you not croaked yet category. I get to be a babysitter for nine days(oh joy of fucking joys) and I have to make sure she doesn’t get me evicted, doesn’t pick fights with the neighbors or general public, doesn’t have another gambling relapse, doesn’t smoke in my apartment, doesn’t let tons of bugs into my apartment because she refuses to close windows and the patio door, doesn’t blare the TV because she refuses to get hearing aides, doesn’t forget her medication, doesn’t try to antagonize authority figures, doesn’t try to pick a fight with my uncle, doesn’t stuff the garbage can so full that I can’t get it out of the apartment thus making me a prime target for pests of all kinds, doesn’t go into epic political tirades, etc, etc, etc. I have to stay up with her and be with her at all times so sleep isn’t going to happen while she’s here and if you think I can just tell her not to come, you got another thing coming because I’ll have my entire family on my ass something fierce because I’ve been designated her official caretaker/ person we’re going to pawn her off on because we can’t deal with her now and I was nearly put back in a group home the last time I tried to get her to not come see me. I’ll be dealing with her again at the end of August when she comes up to go with me to the Weird Al Yankovic concert(it was the deal I made with my conservator in order to be allowed to go to the concert as apparently I still need a chaperone despite now being in my late 30s[still don’t like acknowledging that]). I’m trying(keyword being trying)to decrease my stress levels and I’m trying to work in social activities(so I can get out of the house and so I can actually attempt to show that despite having autism, I do have some form of social skills). I’ve seen a couple movies that were really good and I’m hoping to see the new Avengers movie this week(they were sold out here in Bismarck this weekend). I’m trying my best to limit caffeine as it’s possibly exacerbating the stress(it’d be nice if the store had those 6-pack bottles or cases of Schweppes ginger ale, grape crush, and A&W Cream Soda as those are the caffeine free sodas I like the most), I’m going to renew my fishing license this coming month so I can go fishing with my aunt and uncle in their camper this summer, and I’m preparing a speech for my conservator in the hopes that I can actually take a vacation as the doctor has ordered me to take one(he did everything except write a prescription for a vacation as you’re not allowed to do that for a number of reasons)and I’m really really really really really really hoping that I can actually take one because I need a break from everything(and I better not be limited to Minnesota or a self-advocacy conference tie-in type vacation because I’ll be extremely pissed if that happens).
