What is Hernia Repair? What are the Common Hernia Types?
Hernia Repair:
Hernia repair is also known as herniorrhaphy. It is a surgical procedure to fix a hernia. A hernia occurs when an internal tissue or organ breaks through a muscle’s hole. It is the most common surgery to be performed.
Types of Hernia
Below are some of the most common types of hernias
Inguinal Hernia: An inguinal hernia called as groin hernia. It is the most common groin hernia type. An inguinal hernia occurs in inguinal canal. You may see a small bulge on the pelvic bone. It is caused due to abdominal tissue pushing through an opening in your lower abdominal wall. This bulge may be painful when you cough, lift any weights or bend over. However, most hernias don’t cause pain. It doesn’t repair on it’s own and lead to life threatening complication. Most men affects with this inguinal hernia.
Femoral hernias: Fatty tissue or intestine part stick out into the groin at the top the inner thigh. Femoral hernias are less common than inguinal hernias and mostly affect older women.
Umbilical Hernia: Fatty tissue or intestine part stick out into the abdomen near the belly button (naval).

The episode where everyone gaslights Deluca because he's has a few symptoms of mania (that are uhhhh not more severe than many of the nonpathological moods other characters on the show have had at different points) is SO upsetting like he tries so hard to protect this victim of human trafficking and no one believes him so she never gets help and then later on he literally gets killed too because of it 👁👄👁

Inguinal hernias – the most common hernia, seen more in men, causes a bulge in your groin. The inguinal hernia appears through your inguinal canal, a narrow passage that blood vessels pass through in your abdominal wall and, may reach your scrotum.
Femoral hernias – also a bulge in your groin, relatively uncommon and seen more in women. The femoral hernia happens at the hole in your abdominal wall where the femoral artery and vein pass from the abdomen into your leg.
Hiatus hernias – occur in your upper chest area when part of your stomach pushes up into your chest by squeezing through a gap in your diaphragm called the hiatus.
Umbilical/paraumbilical hernias – occur at the umbilicus, a natural weakness in your abdominal wall, when fatty tissue or a part of your bowel pokes through your abdomen near your naval.
Incisional hernia – occurs through a scar from past abdominal surgery as tissue pokes through the weak healed site in your abdominal wall.

This image is 100 percent my impossibly perfect type of dream man.
EDIT: This is an ILLUSTRATION created in AI by a prompt I wrote posted to my Tumblr called AI Staches and Bulges. No, the man doesn’t have an inguinal hernia. Yes, it’s fake. It’s clearly a fantasy image. Duh…

✅Ultimately, all hernias are caused by a combination of pressure and an opening or weakness of muscle or fascia; the pressure pushes an organ or tissue through the opening or weak spot. Sometimes the muscle weakness is present at birth; more often, it occurs later in life. “Hernias cannot heal on their own — if left untreated, they usually get bigger and more painful, and can cause serious health risks in some cases.” Get treated immediately!! 📞 : +91 7428617074 #hernia #herbalhernia #surgery #treatment #types #herniatypes #symptoms #drashishsachan #gastroenterologistindilshadgarden #gastroenterologistineastdelhi #surgeonindilshadgarden #surgeonineastdelhi #oncosurgeonineastdelhi https://www.instagram.com/p/ChJ4wsABZgc/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

My grandpa has a inguinal hernia. He’s 82. He has dementia. He’s an asshole. He doesn’t want surgery for it. The doctors recommend it is surgically corrected but as it is small it is not an emergent/immediately necessary procedure. My mom wants him to get the surgery. My grandpa is an asshole. He has been combatant and noncompliant with medical treatment his entire life. Everything from trying to get him treatment for his pneumonia to trying to get him treatment for his mood disorder has been a struggle. I’m like “Mom. I think you should respect his bodily autonomy and not do the surgery.” he will not be compliant during the recovery. And he’s old as the hills with 1,000 other health issues. He’s not going to recover well. He’s only alive because my grandma has been handholding him his entire adult life. Let him walk around with his intestines in his balls. Jesus Christ. Old people get to a point where making them do medical procedures is unethical. It would be different if he was 82 and mostly healthy and mentally spry and just scared of surgery but with grandpa it’s a balance of quality life type of thing.

any thoughts on silkies / silkie chickens?
We need to focus on breeding healthy, hardy birds and less on bigger and bigger crests which are actually a cerebral hernia. The size of american type silkies crests have grown to fast to quickly which leads to holes in the skull. One peck on the head can kill some silkies. They are also very fragile in general against common poultry ailments such coccidosis and are prone to vitamin deficiency. These are things the breed needs to work on. I really would like to see more silkies return to a more historical appearance because with that includes more genetic diversity and having the birds be dual purpose again. Originally Silkies were a meat breed after all and i wish their modern counterparts still showcased that hardiness especially considering climate change is going to have a big impact on what chicken breeds thrive and which ones might become endangered.

On this day, 24 December 2019, striking ballet dancers in Paris delivered a strict performance of Swan Lake in front of the Palais Garnier in protest at proposed public sector pension cuts. Strikes against the plan by other public sector workers had begun on December 5. Dancers at the Paris Opera had a pension scheme which had been implemented in the 1600s, acknowledging the toll the job takes on dancers' bodies and allowing for retirement at 42. The government planned to extend all workers' retirement age to 64. Héloïse Jocqueviel, a dancer, told France 24: "We start classical dance at the age of 8. By our late teenage years, we’re getting recurring injuries… Once you reach the age of 42, you’re already suffering from arthritis, stress fractures, hernias and in some cases titanium hips. It’s hard to maintain a level of excellence until 42, but 64 seems impossible." Another ballerina, Shanti Mouget, told us how the workers decided to protest: "After three weeks of strike, we wanted to show to other workers that we were all together in this struggle. The best way for us to express that wasn’t a public speech. It was to share our art." The idea was that the protest would be attention-grabbing, but they believed that the government "would not be able to blame us for anything because we did something forbidden but also beautiful and peaceful." Intermittent strikes by dancers continued, costing millions of euros in lost ticket sales, until the government relented and abandon the plans. Our December T-Shirt of the Month, made by a workers' co-op and supporting grassroots unions in South Asia, designed by @fede__borgia, celebrates this action. Strictly limited-edition in 100% organic cotton it is available with global shipping until December 31 only: https://shop.workingclasshistory.com/collections/t-shirt-of-the-month https://www.facebook.com/workingclasshistory/photos/a.296224173896073/2169814833203655/?type=3
