i get soft thinking abt the wildcats at pride. ricky sitting as still as possible as gina puts trans and bi flags on his cheeks. maddox and jet spinning in their respective lesbian and trans flags and ashlyn putting on a big rainbow hairband. big red buying himself a snazzy bi jacket and a shirt that has like a dumb gay joke. that's just the hcs i can think of off the top my heads but when it's pride the wildcats go ALL on out

good movie suggestions for a lonely lesbian who is crying over no beautiful gf??

wlw films:

Margarita with a Straw: “ A rebellious young woman with cerebral palsy leaves India to study in New York. On her journey of self-discovery, she unexpectedly falls in love.”. it’s got two desi, disabled sapphic women which is really nice. (SPOILER: I did find it a bit biphobic because it played into a specific stereotype)

Imagine Me & You:  “A newlywed bride becomes infatuated with another woman, who questions her sexual orientation, promoting a stir among the bride’s family and friends.” I love this movie, it’s your basic romcom but SAPPHIC! (SPOILERS: does involve cheating :/ but a generally really happy/feel good film.)

Blue is the Warmest Colour:  “A French teen forms a deep emotional and sexual connection with an older art student she met in a lesbian bar.” hear me out… i know this movie really divides people and I understand why, BUT i do think it’s one of those movies that you have to watch because it was important for wlw film. (SPOILERS: this movie is so slow…so so slow. however, it is aesthetically pleasing so enjoy that. slightly biphobic which is :/)

Carol:  “Therese Belivet spots the beautiful, elegant Carol perusing the doll displays in a 19510s Manhattan department store. The two women develop a fast bond that becomes a love with complicated consequences.” this movie is a literal work of art. the cinematography. the music. the cast. the story. it’s a perfect film.

Saving Face: “ A Chinese-American lesbian and her traditionalist mother are reluctant to go public with secret loves that clash against cultural expectations.” I love this film. it’s another feel-good film and funny and if you’ve been raised in a POC household there’s a lot to relate to. Also was written and directed by a Chinese woman! (Fun fact: Will Smith was a co-producer.)

But I’m a Cheerleader: “ A naive teenager is sent to rehab camp when her straitlaced parents and friends suspect her of being a lesbian.” this movie is so ridiculous and over-the-top but self-aware of it. Super aesthetically pleasing.

I Can’t Think Straight: “ As her wedding day approaches, a feisty bride falls in love with a shy Muslim woman who is also dating a man.” this movie is very diverse and so good. the only issue i had was that the audio was a bit weird.

D.E.B.S.: “ The star of a team of teenage crimefighters falls for the alluring villainess she must bring to justice.” another rediculous movie but so so so good. 

The Runaways: “A coming-of-age biographical film about the 1970s teenage all-girl rock band The Runaways. The relationship between band members Cherie Currie and Joan Jett is also explored.” this movie isn’t specifically a wlw film but it does turn gay. if you love rock and wlw you might like this. (TW: there’s drug abuse and explicit sex scenes).

Fingersmith: “ In Victorian England, Sue, a young thief, participates in a scam to defraud a rich heiress by becoming her maid. Things take an unexpected turn and Sue’s plan goes horribly wrong.” Techinically this is a mini series but it’s worth watching. it’s very gay and has a happy ending.

If These Walls Could Talk 2: “Trio of stories about lesbian couples in three different decades.” this is so good and discusses different issues in really beautiful ways. Does start really sad but gets happier.

Pariah: “A Brooklyn teenager juggles conflicting identities and risks friendship, heartbreak, and family in a desperate search for sexual expression.” this movie, nothing else, is so beautiful. it’s a really amazing story as well.
