The high of monster jam had worn off faster than she’d wanted it to and she’d been thrust back to this life that she didn’t much care for anymore. She’d spoken with her mother over facetime and she’d commented on her skin, how she didn’t seem to have aged a bit since she was about twenty years old. There were times when Holly could easily pretend she was living a normal human life, she’d only been a vampire for about six years after all, but she'd been brought back down to reality all too quickly. She didn't think there was getting out of this funk, but she was certainly attempting to by eating her way through a dozen cupcakes. All placed in front of her in different flavors, she'd taken a large bite of one when a familiar face neared and through a mouthful of food all she managed was, "Don't even think about it-- I'm not in a sharing mood."

Ivan had heard the news, of course he had, he was pretty certain at this stage everyone in Hollow Grove had. He also knew there’d be a hell of a lot of residents who would be shaken by the announced trial for the Clave members. The newspaper was still sitting on the table in front of him outside the cafe and he used it to extinguish his cigarette - right on the picture - before immediately pulling out another one. “And so justice will be served,” he spoke idly. “Won’t change a fucking thing.”

Beckett was finally starting his job at the pool in the next couple days, but until then, he was trying to paint as much as possible. He knew he wouldn’t have as much time after that, and as much as he wanted to be doing art more often, he was certain he wouldn’t be able to get a job as an art teacher so soon after moving to Hollow Grove. However, painting more often meant that he was suddenly convinced that he’d forgotten to get the paint off of his face before he left the house to get some coffee. “Uhm, excuse me...” He said to someone nearby. “Do I have paint on me? I thought I felt something on my cheek...”

“So..” Mako snapped his fingers and popped a palm on the curve between forefinger and thumb. His legs swung off the bow of The Poison Princess and he gave what he saw a long gander. His breath puffed out and he continued to snap, pop, snap and pop as restlessness settled into curiosity. “So this is Hollow Grove.” A broad grin appeared. “Cool.”

"Yes, this is my fifth cup of coffee of the day.” she replied, “I am aware it’s not yet lunchtime, but it’s been a long day already. Do not judge me.”

“Oh my god.” despite her coming to this event for over a decade, Emma still couldn’t believe how amazing it was. So many people from around the world, it got bigger and better every year. “I still can’t believe Rihanna’s here again, like... god what a babe.” she sighed dreamily.

“So what you’re telling me,” Patrik started, his voice raised to be heard above the music of Purgatory with his tenth drink in his hand. “Is that downstairs in the basement is an illegal fighting ring? How come I haven’t been in here before?”

Enchanted Gardens was somewhere Kitsi felt like she never got to visit enough; there was just something calming about standing amongst the colourful blooms scattered throughout the shop. When she had taken over running the hotel she had considered letting the bouquets within die naturally, but her parents who still lived onsite would never let it happen. Finally though it was time for a fresh set and she let out a sigh as she looked about her. “You know I never really know where to start with all this choice.”

“This is.... kinda wild,” the young wolf admitted, eyes scanning the growing crowd of monster jam participants. While Nome had been a relatively lively safe haven, Hollow Grove was by far larger than her hometown. And twice as ready to throw an expansive party. “You’re telling me this happens every year?”

“You know what?” Maya slurred a bit, taking a long sip of her tequila. She was sitting at the park again, taking shot after shot of tequila, trying to erase the image of her brother covered in blood, But with each shot, it didn’t want to go away. Not if she swims in it. “I think it’s time that my brother learns his lesson.” Fuck being the nice sister-time for the Lawyer to come out and get her brother to see the wrong when he turns it off.

“So I opened my front door to go to work today and I found these,” Lachlan started, indicating to the bouquet of flowers in his hands. “No note, no name. I have no idea what they are for. Or if they are for me. I’m not really sure what to do.”

Pippa was finally back to letting loose, her siblings doing their own thing and their parents being their usual wrecked selves meant that Pippa zero cares. She downed another shot, the music pulsing through her veins as she allowed the alcohol to hit her system. “Another!” she demanded, not even sure if there was even anyone around her at the time, “I need another, and then I wanna dance.”

“You know,” he began, eyes scanning over the list of artists on the flyer in front of him. “M’not that surprised Lizzo is a supernatural. Though, I dunno. The list keep’s gettin’ longer and longer each year.” Ryan forgets sometimes that he wasn’t born a supernatural. Hollow Grove has taken over most of his memories, the young wolf’s time as a human becoming just that --- the past.

“What do you think?” Teo raised a brow as he observed himself in the mirror, having had tried on the newest suit. This job required far too much suit shopping for his taste, but it was something the man knew he had to endure. “Does it look better? Because, at this point, they all look the same to me.”

“Let’s have us some fun tonight.” Or at least the tamer kind of fun he had to practice more in this town. “You ever played two truths and a lie? I’ll buy us some rounds if you’re into it. What do you say?”

Maggie’s phone had been ringing off the hook since the announcement that there would be a trial of the Clave members. It was time they put the issue to rest, and this was the only way it could be done, but it meant there would be a lot of sleepless nights ahead for the original. She was sat, for once, outside the Society Cafe, coffee in hand and a newspaper that had been left discarded on the table when she sensed someone nearby. “Sorry, did you want this?” she asked, holding the paper?
