hello! I wish I had been around for early acelu days... I was reading OP fic back then, but it was mostly zo/san 😅. I get what you mean, it's tough to find stuff for them these days that's not just luffy-harem stuff (which is fine! just not what I'm looking for) or ooc

I prefer fics that are mostly sweet and not too angsty, so my list won't include some of the ones that are really bittersweet/dark/endgame-tragic, even though they're beautifully written. I'm sure if you ask another acelu fan, you'd get a completely different list... I'm just a big weenie! 😭😂

I'm also really disorganized, so I'm probably forgetting a bunch!!! I need to keep better bookmarks omg

Bridesmaid Blues by Anonymous so much fun!! a rom-com style take on Luffy and Ace eloping in canon. Hilarious, and just makes me adore all the characters even more

In Your Heart Shall Burn by kayura_sanada oh my god. so it's a fix-it fic that involves a mysterious mirror and wishes. the tone feels just like canon with maybe a hint more bittersweet hopefulness, and the heartfelt moments between ace and luffy in this MELTED ME INTO PIECES. this will be one of my forever favorites.

oxytocin by ruche Gen fic but the author has other great shippy acelu work; this one is, post-marineford-ace-lives scene with Ace being worried and grateful for Luffy... the characterization is amazing

Near Death Experiences by monch_monch (WIP) This is a reincarnation AU, and it's got one of my absolute favorite acelu scenes in one of its flashbacks... I love everything about this fic—the way the other characters are brought in, and how cute and heartfelt Ace and Luffy are... I can't compliment it enough

The Same As You by PeachyStud (WIP) (jksgfhd oops i put this is sfw when the latest chapters have some messing around in it, but... i'll just leave it here) This one's a very sweet and fun modern AU—I reread it when I just need some feel good acelu fluff.

Next Stop, Everywhere by NewWonder This fic is the 2nd part of an "Ace lives and sails with Luffy" series, but it's my favorite of the 3 parts because it focuses a lot on Ace getting to work through his heartache 😭

Together Again by Swinky Swanks (SpobSpucci) A sweet, short piece about when Ace visits Luffy in canon

I'll Always Want You by PeachyStud This is part 1 of another "Ace lives in canon" series—this fic focuses on Luffy asking Ace to join his crew during their 2 years training and is SO cute and lovely. Part 2 is also a treat (and rated M 👀)

on brotherhood by LadyCrimsonAndBlack another gen fic; age-swap! older Luffy runs into Whitebeard and makes sure Ace is happy on his crew

Lock; Key by Anonymous (SFW.... for now. since there's only 1 chapter up) very interesting modern, omegaverse AU with cool worldbuilding

Hatchling by Anonymous good old-fashioned "not too loud or dad will hear us" modern AU incest. haha. really, this one is a nice mix of cute and dirtyhot, with a looooot of teasing smug ace

A gun comes into view

He leans over and holds the camera above her

I see his hand come into frame and he sticks his thumb in the bullet wound

I can't believe what I'm fucking seeing

"Fuck this", I hear Jimin say, "I'm calling the cops"

He walks away and I hear him on his phone, "You need to get to the apartment immediately. Han-jae Hwung is there and he's torturing Joanne Russo. He's going to kill her."

"Yoongi", she whimpers, her eyes closed

The gun goes off again and she groans

"Uh oh, I think she's dying", Han-jae says, "I shot her in the leg and she didn't scream

"Just kill me", she begs him, "Please. It hurts so much. I want to die. Just kill me"

Han-jae laughs

He actually laughs

"I don't want you to die yet. I want you to suffer"

"Yoongi", she calls me and I break down screaming

Another gun shot

She whimpers so softly

"Yeah she's dying"

"Why are you doing this?", I cry, "Why?"

"Because she left me for you. Now I'm taking away what you love."

"She was wrong about one thing though. I'm not going to kill you. I want you to live knowing what you lost, knowing that you watched her die."

I cry harder

He moves the camera to her face.

"Hey. Wake up.", he shakes her and her eyes open slowly

"Any last words to your precious Yoongi?"

She looks at the camera and I crumble to the floor as I see unconditional love in her eyes

She smiles softly and says, "I love you Yoongi. Always. Forever"

"I love you Joanne", I tell her

She smiles again and closes her eyes

The camera moves and the next thing I see is the gun pointing at her head

Her eyes are closed and she's whimpering, struggling to breathe, a wet sound coming from her mouth

"No. Please. Don't. Don't take her from me"

"Say good bye Yoongi"

"No!", I shout

He pulls the trigger and shoots her in the head

She doesn't move, doesn't flinch, doesn't cry out, doesn't make a sound

"No", I scream crying and standing up

He killed her

He fucking killed her

And made me watch

"You're dead!", I scream at him, "You're fucking dead. I will hunt you down and I'm going to kill you. I'm going to make you wish you pulled the trigger on your head instead of hers."

"Good luck", he says then ends the call

I scream and throw the phone across the room, it shattering into pieces

I turn to see the guys looking at me

I scream, then turn and walk out of the room

As I walk down the hallway, the guys follow me

"Where are you going?", Namjoon asks panicky

"You can't go there! He could be waiting for you!"

Anger fills my body as I continue to walk

I whirl around to face him and them

I need to get her to a hospital

NOW

I don't know where her phone is and mine is on the floor in pieces at the BigHit

I can't call an ambulance

I pick her up, hold her close to me and run out of the door to her car

I put her in the back seat and I climb in the driver seat

I turned the car on and speed to the hospital

Nurses run to me

"What happened?", one asked me as they lead me to a stretcher

"She was stabbed and shot"

"By who?"

"Han-jae Hwung. But please help her. Save her. I love her. Please", I beg

The stretcher comes and I'm instructed to put her on it

They wheel her to a section of the emergency room and I follow

The nurses and a doctor immediately crowd around her, hooking her up to machines

"Faint pulse"

"She's barely breathing"

"She needs surgery, now."

"She needs x-rays!"

"She needs blood. She lost a lot, find her blood type now"

Amidst all this, I stand there crying not knowing what to do

I can only watch and not do anything to help

Again

The heart machine suddenly starts making a loud rapid beeping sounds

"She's going into cardiac arrest!"

"Get the paddles! Get her shirt off!"

A nurse cuts her shirt open as the doctor gets some kind of paddle things

"Ready?"

"Fully charged"

"Clear"

The doctor puts the paddles on her chest and the impact from whatever coming out of them causes her body to jerk up

The nurses start wheeling her away from me

I make a move to go with her but a nurse stops me

"I'm sorry but you can't go with her"

"She's going to be in surgery for what looks like a while."

He's wearing scrubs

"As much as can be expected"

I breathe a sigh of relief

"She's stable for now but in critical condition."

"What does that mean?", Tae asks

"It means that while she is stable for now, something can go wrong. And honestly we are not sure if she will survive the night."

"What", I choke out

She has to survive

She survived all this, she can't die

"Her injuries were extremely extensive. She's being monitored round the clock in the intensive care ward. It's a miracle she survived with the condition she was in"

"Can I see her?", I ask

I need to see her, be with her in case....

"In a little while, yes.", the doctor said

I nod

"It was also a complete miracle we were able to save the baby"

My eyes snap up to him

"Baby? What baby?", I asked completely shocked

His eyes widen, "You didn't know? She's four months pregnant."

"What?", I whisper

"Yes. It was very fortunate that she was not stabbed in the stomach. In fact, except for a bruise, her stomach was completely left alone."

"We suspect that the assailant was sitting on her stomach to hold her down while he attacked her. That would explain why there's no injury there."

"She does have some defensive wounds on her hands which means she fought back."

I close my eyes for a second, just trying not to flip out

He continues, "Two ribs broke and one of them punctured her lung. It was repaired and a chest tube was inserted to help drain the air and expand her lung. We had to leave it in for now"

I guess that was the wet sound I heard when she breathed during the face time

"Most of her left orbital bone shattered. It's a miracle her eye was not injured. The pins put in last year completely broke as well so new pins were put in to help repair it as well as plates to strengthen the bone. She cannot get hit there with force again. If she does the bone will collapse completely and she will lose her eye. It can't be repaired again."

"No oh my god!", Hobi yells out, "Oh god!"

"I'm sorry. Her right eye had a very large deep cut from her forehead to her jaw. Her eyelid was cut too but not as severe as her face. Thankfully her eye was not injured and we stitched the wound closed"

"She was hit in the jaw multiple times which caused some breaks in the bone. Again, we put pins in place to repair it and had to wire her jaw shut. It has to stay that way at least for the first part of her recovery. She will be on a liquid diet and we will monitor her and the baby while she is. We will make sure the baby gets the nutrition it needs"

"Shit", Jin whispers

"She lost a lot of blood and we did give her blood during surgery. We were not able to give her much anesthesia during the surgery. Normally it is safe for pregnant women but with her body in it's weak state and that fact that she flatlined once, we made the decision to not use much, if any. Thankfully she was unconscious for most of the surgery."

she moves back, and says "there, now we're good" with a soft smile. frankie smiles at her and gives her a quick peck on the cheek, "i love your attention to detail," he says, adoration in his eyes as she giggles.

"thanks," you whisper. you dont want to ruin this moment with your feelings butting in; they are so happy together, you wish so desperately you could make Them that happy.

frankie pats his pockets until he finds and fishes out his keys, "i'll go start the car, you can set your helmet inside the garage if you want?" he offers. "that'd be great thank you," you say, unstraddling the bike and the couple, unbeknownst to the other, watch a tad too intently as you do.

shortcale shakes herself out of slightly inappropriate gaze and decided to walk you up to a garage, "i've never ridden a motercycle before, it seems like fun" she says, just to fill the silence.

i think it's an nct thing? it's why i never get tired of them bc they're always active in a way. you should've seen how things went down last year! march 127 album, april dream mini-album, may 127 repackage, june wayv album and the whole nct 2020 thing. it was a wild year. about the track, i listened to it once and forgot about it. might give it a few more listens but it might not grow on me at all. yes! wasn't a big fan of hot sauce at first too bc i thought the intro was weird (not jaemin's part, like the first thing that plays). and yes, that hook loops in my head 24/7. i even made it my instagram bio.

same, actually! im not an atiny and dont stan any other group in the show besides skz but i watched each groups performance and ranked them haha. at times ateez would rank over skz, it was wild. also yeah, my other multi friend was freaking out about kingdom and ended up abandoning the show because she was so scared of the fanwars and having to deal with her 'conflicting feelings'. about the stanning thing, in my defense, i have a list of groups i want to stan and ive recently added tbz and atz. the list is long, i have a long way to go! also yeah, i dont prefer ateez's songs and i have a bunch of tbz title tracks in my playlist but if i approach their discography like i did with nct then i think i would like at least five songs.

izone are my queens. theres a reason why theyre the only girl group who made it to my ult list haha! super talented and filled with variety and visuals, a perfectly concocted group (literally, sobs in pd48 scandal). ah, temporary groups. yeah i cried about their disbandment for like 3 days straight, it was bad.
