This took forever to do but it was fun, especially since I got to give some attention to a few of the not as popular Next Gens (Natsuo/Yuuma)

Samurai Warriors 5

is in the trial and error phases of production! We may not see it until 2020. Perhaps we’ll see more information about this game in the Fall/Winter, similar to the announcement run of SW4. 

So....who are you all looking forward to seeing in the game? Or what do you want to see? 

For me, personally, I’d like to see the battles of Kyoto between the Ashikaga, Miyoshi, Matsunaga, Hosokawa, etc, reading about this battles was always exciting, especially seeing it in Nobunaga’s Ambition. I’d also like to see more Mouri enemies like Sue Harukata (UNPC in SW4, but can give him a story), Amago/Shikanosuke Yamanaka. And I’d like to see more Kyushu battles/enemies. Kyushu is full of fascinating warriors like Otomo Sorin, Nabeshima Naoshige(and his badass wife!), Ryuzoji Takanobu, Joun Takahashi, Tachibana Dosetsu, even Sorin’s “anti-christ” wife Jezebel. I think another Shimazu can sit this one out. 

We’re probably going to get another Oda character, I’m thinking Niwa Nagahide, Oda Nobutada, Gamo Ujisato or Takigawa Kazumasu. 

More Touhoku adds like Mogami Yoshiaki or Satake Yoshishige might be a possibility. 

Maybe make the Imagawa a full-fledged clan with Yoshimoto, Hayakawa, Naotora, Ieyasu and Hanzo. 

More Western Army people like Kobayakawa Hideaki, Hosokawa Tadaoki, Naoie Hideie, or Kuroda Nagamasa for the Eastern Army

As far as women go, that’s really up in the air. No one expected us to get Koshosho or Hayakawa. Chacha was heavily requested and was finally added to Spirit Of Sanada, with much of her historical merits taken away (to the point of where I heard she was disliked in Japan). It seems the most obvious females to be added would be Maeda Matsu, Megohime and Akihime. Were it up to me, I’d put in Ikeda Sen and Naoshige’s wife (her name escapes me...Hikotsuru?) Yoshihime would be an interesting add. As of now, we have 3 mothers in the series (Aya, Naotora and Oichi), all presenting different kinds of motherly love, Yoshihime would be a different type because of her hatred for Masamune. Another mother I could see added (and I hope not because as of now, we have enough Sanada) would be Yamanote, who is Yukimura and Nobuyuki’s mother. I don’t see anything she’d add to the series. 

That all being said, we’ll wait and see!

Still felt like this guy got cold, even with the cape and hat. Kazuichi doesn't bother asking Hideaki about it anymore. "You're shivering like crazy, dude." he muttered, out of concern rather than any kind of annoyance as he stepped away for a moment, grabbing a blanket he'd gotten into the habit of keeping around for him. He drapes it over his shoulders, giving a moment of hesitation before he takes his freezing hands into his own. "Any better?"

The Hanzo were predisposed to feeling cold, it ran through the family. That was very much one of the reasons why all of their uniforms would be designed with thick layers and thermal inlays. But even then, it wouldn’t be enough when it got particularly cold. Hideaki often wondered if he was more sensitive to the cold than his siblings - possibly thanks to all the nights in cold cells and drawers he’d spent in childhood. 

His hands instinctively gripped for the blanket as it was wrapped around him, smiling gratefully at his boyfriend and leaning closer to him. It would ease the shivering somewhat, though he still twitched just slightly (almost barely noticeable now when it was Kazuichi who touched him at least) when he felt his hands taken. Kazuichi was warm, and Hideaki found himself drawn to that. 

“Much b-better,” he stammered. Shifting his body a little closer to the source of the warmth on instinct. “Th-Thank you, Kazuichi-kun... Wh-Where would I be without you...”

⇷ Alright you know what screw it I'm sending in another one and asking for Hideaki this time. Make me suffer I dare you.

The morgue drawer is cold, the icy steel pressing in against the small boy’s fragile body. Even if he’s dangerously thin and small himself, Hideaki’s body is still cramped into a space he shouldn’t be forced to fit into. His bony knees hug against his quivering chest, and he can hear his heart beating fast.

 Panic was no longer something he knew he felt, it was everpresent, he knew of no other sensation. Here in the oppressive dark, what was worst was all he had were his own thoughts for company. There was no point crying. That had been beaten out of him long before. 

Yet, still. Perhaps waiting in the morgue drawer was better. Safer. 

It meant nii-sama was busy with something else. 

Was it the lack of oxygen that made the boy think that way? Or perhaps it was just the knowledge that even a steel coffin was by far preferable to anything Tanaka Hanzo might have in store for him. 

“Anegawa... Osaka Castle... Sekigahara...”

List. List and then list more. It’s something to focus on, it’s better than worrying about how he’ll pass out soon from the lack of air. Or that he might still be pulled out and find his joints no longer stretch from how long he’s been bundled against himself like this. Recite what you’ve learnt and don’t think about how Nii-sama could come back any second. Hideaki keeps repeating, keeps trying and trying to think only of his history.

“Oda Nobunaka, Tokugawa Ieyasu.. Ishida Mitsunari.. Toyotomi Hideyoshi...”

Samurai. Samurai were strong right? They.. They were everything that Hideaki wasn’t. Powerful, intelligent, brave. They upheld their families. They were proud to bear the clan name. Samurai could fight, they could strategise. Samurai were useful... They weren’t like poor little Hideaki. He knew that all too well. 

The click of heels on tile snaps Hideaki from his only coping method. And the little boy begins to shake inside his box-prison again. Those boots, always those boots. The first thing he’d hear. Knowing what was coming... Who was coming. Gods was he humming too? So cheerful... almost.. gleeful! This was even worse!

All at once, the drawer is thrown open, and Hideaki’s tiny hands have to rush to cover his eyes from the blinding surgery lights burning above him. He’d gotten too used to being in the dark again, stupid mistake. The jolt of his body against his sudden freedom caused a laugh from the looming figure. That all too familiar voice echoing in the dark basement. 

“Are you ready for the next test? Dear little brother...”
