before you came into the picture, before kageyama met you, it was yamamoto aoi. he didn't expect for things to go the way they did. not with her. but with you, from the moment he'd met you, he knew you would be the one.

it was his second year. he was stupid. kageyama was a confident setter with a freak quick attack that struck fear into rival schools. he felt untouchable.

he was untouchable.

kageyama moved with purpose through the hallways of inarizaki high school, bracing himself for the upcoming tournament. with each step, he exuded confidence. he already knew success was within his grasp. he just needed to do his own part and trust his teammates would do the same. hinata is beside him, as usual, sounding more like a dog than a human. he couldn't be paid to give a damn about whatever he was talking about.

they turned the corner, and the gym came into view with its door open. their coach was waiting inside for them to begin warmups. the sheer size of the gym felt overwhelming, suffocating even, as kageyama cast his eyes inside.

both of them said they had left the gym to refill their waters. though neither of them would admit, it was actually to de-stress as well. kageyama never got nervous when he played volleyball. to him, volleyball was something nerves never played a part in. this feeling inside him was so raw and new.

hinata can feel the slight shift in him. he glanced up at him and said, "you aren't scared right, kageyama?"

kageyama doesn’t get the chance to respond.

"of course he's scared."

the unexpected girly voice spooked them both. hinata instinctively took cover behind his friend, startled by the suddenness. meanwhile, kageyama’s expression remained indifferent. his eyes roamed across her. inarizaki’s manager? since when? he would’ve remembered her.

she exuded a sense of determination that was different from hinata’s own fire and nature. this was a confidence that bit at kageyama, a confidence that said without a doubt — her team would not fail.

"i'm not scared." kageyama scoffed.

"you should be. you're going to lose." she said with a shrug. he could hardly believe what he was hearing.

hinata and kageyama stood there in shock, taken aback by the confidence that dripped off her every word. without a trace of hesitation, she coldly pushed past them, leaving hinata shivering and kageyama interested.

he knew he shouldn’t. their coach was waiting for them. but it was like he couldn’t stop himself.

"wanna bet on that?" kageyama called out, making her stop on her heels.

himata appeared dazed, his eyes darting back and forth between his setter and the manager of the opposing team. he gnawed at his bottom lip - was this a good idea? kageyama might end up losing his hard-earned money, money he usually spent on buying hinata his beloved ramen. hinata couldn’t survive without it!

a mischievous smirk crossed her face as she thought over the request. she turned and said, “fine. if i win, you take me out to dinner after the game. but if you win, i’ll take you out to dinner instead.”

hinata gasped, realizing that this wasn’t just about scoping out the competition; it was about getting a date! he raised an eyebrow. although he had never seen kageyama actually interact with a woman before, he couldn’t help but wonder if he was an unstoppable flirt like his senior, tooru? maybe he would prove himself to be more than a volleyball junkie?

a blush crept up kageyama’s neck and settled on his cheeks. he rubbed the back of his neck, and hinata can’t miss the slight stutter that escaped his lips, “..i-i..” kageyama jabbed at hinata’s side when he obnoxiously laughs, “i don’t even know your name.”

what a loser. hinata snickered.

"yamamoto. second year. but you can call me aoi." she said with a little grin.

kageyema tried to hide blush and forced out a determined tone, "...well...i accept your bet! but just know, i won't be losing. pork curry with egg on top will be my order."

“and ramen!” hinata added in.

kageyama rolled his eyes. “ramen too.”

aoi grinned. "okay. deal. mine will be yakitori. see you on the court. #9.”

it’s safe to say, kageyama and hinata both came home with massive tummy aches.

• AOI and KAGEYAMA dated as second years, but for unknown reasons broke up during the first part of their third year.

• NONE of kageyama’s friends liked AOI. however because of aoi, kageyama became friends with OSAMU and ATSUMU. OSAMU and AOI were childhood friends, while ATSUMU could never stand her.

• aoi and kageyama were very friendly with each other and hung out frequently after their break up until he started dating YOU in his third year. in osamu’s opinion, they have a trauma bond because of aoi’s manipulative tendencies and kageyama’s inability to say no to her.

• originally, kageyama was suppose to go straight to the league after high school. however, he wanted to stay with you and go to university together.

• when aoi first texted you saying kageyama had cheated, you believed her for a couple of reasons. before, it was rumored that kageyama had cheated on his last ex. you never knew WHO his ex was. when kageyama lies about aoi’s identity, it breaks your trust in him. plus, aoi sends very convincing receipts of kageyama cheating on you with HER and another woman.

• after this happens, you leave waseda university after the semester ends and enroll at tokyo university.

• AOI often posts random things on her twitter, to the point where most of her friends ignore her or like osamu, tell her to put her phone down. she has bad attachment and jealousy issues that fractured and still hurts her relationship with kageyama.

• OSAMU tries his hardest to continue being friends with AOI, but finds it hard after what happened with you and kageyama. he doesn’t blame you for believing AOI so easily. but it creates a riff between you two, as you believe he placed his friendship with kageyama above yours.

• aoi goes to university in the area where kageyama and hinata grew up. she sometimes comes to tokyo, mainly to visit osamu and kageyama. she talks about coming and kageyama’s first mistake was NOT BELIEVING HER.

When on earth did I throw Hinata under the bus to protect other characters? If you're referring to this post, then all I did there was defend Sakura from the accusation that she didn't do anything during Pain's invasion because she and her peers were just following Naruto's instructions. I even explicitly stated, that "I've always admired the devotion Hinata displayed during that scene towards Naruto", so what the hell are you talking about? I didn't throw Hinata under the bus, I admire what she did during that scene.

Seriously, don't accuse me of being a fake Hinata fan, because I've probably defended her more on this platform alone, than you have in all of your time spent in the Naruto fandom.

I hope you don't mind me asking some questions, but will everyone know of Oikawa and Hinata's friendship by the end of this book? I'd say they're actually one of the most important friendships right now. How well would you say Hinata can duel? I definitely think he has to be at least as good as some 6th years. And most importantly, who is/are the most important character(s) in the whole hq@hw series?

Whelp I'm a few months late but HAPPY NEW YEAR to you, too! Hope the first bit of it has been good.

Oikawa and Hinata's friendship is honestly such an important part of this series that not many people know about. I'd say by the end of this book, people know about it but don't really....understand it still if that makes sense. They underestimate how close it is still. Part of it is, because Hinata and Oikawa understand each other in a pretty unique way. Both of them show a side to themselves that they tend not to for others because they know their other friends don't have the muggleborn discrimination experience in the same way.

Hinata shows a lot more of his serious side and tbh the part of him that struggles with the unfairness of the society. He also shows the more deep side that really considers humanity as a whole. Oikawa, meanwhile, shows his bitterness and anger more honestly. Plus, I'd say there's a certain resignation that oikawa only reveals I'm front of Himata since the rest of his friends likely wouldn't see it the same way.

I don't think either necessarily do this consciously and it's definitely not due to a lack of trust in their other friends. I think it's more that they see each other as that person that gets it because they know it.

In that way, even if people do know they're close, I don't think their other friends will really ever fully get that relationship because it's not how they're used to seeing either one of them.

Next--Hinata is good at dueling. He's often a team (not by either of their choice) with Tsukishima in the club because Hinata originally is better with attacks and Tsukishima is brilliant with defense. I'd say he's better than average tho not the best in the club...he tends not to put his full effort into the club since it's not real life danger or his obsession like Quidditch. He's much better since his lessons in fourth year but still the club at least is not his priority. Also why people have no idea his actual power level. As for fighting in real life? Hmmm, we'll have to see...

I'd say Oikawa and Hinata are definitely the most important characters in the series. They're the foil relationship I centered the series around.

Senju, since he started leaking about the game, he was posting pictures of Naruhina a lot, and he wasn't posting about pictures of Sakura. How will she get something new, and also where will she get something new? All she do is judge and kick. If there is something new, it will only be clothes, nothing more.

He was also hinting at The Last movie

And it seems that we will get Himata with black blass and violet chakura, and new moves as well

Also, Sakura never won a fight by herself

And that fight got first place because of cheating, and that's clear

Sakura won't get somthing new she isn't considered a man character in the game and it only does anime and manga content. There is no official media to draw from for adding new stuff for Sakura nor does her fighting style allow innovation cause it is so simple.

OK my brain just decided to think of the karasuno third years and I now have thoughts so I guess I'm gonna give opinions no one asked for

OK first of all who came up with the fanon versions of these characters? Sugamama and dadchi? Sugawara choosing favourites to be protective over and threatening anyone even his other teammates if they ruin his favourites' innocence or upset them? Deadchi? Asahi being Jesus? Fanon in general sometimes has a habit of honing in one one aspect of a character, not even necessarily a personality trait, which is a conversation for another day. And the thing is I wouldn't mind this but its so repetitive that it just gets boring. No hate if you like this version of yhe characters I just personally don't. Especially asahi being Jesus because I feel like it's literally based solely on his appearance and maybe one image in the manga. I'm not saying this is never enjoyable just that it gets boring and honestly annoying.

Now I'm gonna take this one by one and kiyoko isn't really gonna be included because I just don't have much to say about her, except that I love her being protective of yachi, simply because I don't really know much about her character outside of canon. Like the point is kinda that she's there to give quiet support and kinda produce funny moments by rejecting or ignoring nishinoya or tanaka as well as set terushima up as a temporary antagonist for flirting with her but I don't really have much to say about her and, while I understand why people don't like terushima because he made her uncomfortable and kept pushing her, I don't really hate him to the same level other people seem to.

Anyway let's start with daichi. Honestly I feel like daichi, like canon daichi, is underrated and his character is underutilised in fics, especially his weird friendly rivalry with kuroo. First of all, yes he tells his teammates off sometimes, usually when they're arguing during a match or doing something disruptive during practice, unless it's helpful bur that's because he's the captain not because he's their dad. Also he buys them meat buns to praise them for a job well done. But don't forget he's also very competitive, this is especially seen in his interactions with kuroo, and yet I genuinely would say they're some type of friends, like yhey get along well and stuff. Also he's not afraid to lightly bully people, mainly asahi, but he's also really supportive and genuinely cares about his teammates. So many people gocys just on his moments where he tells them off and is their captain and yes this is a big part of his character but so is his more playful side and his caring side and his supportive side. Also if they were a family he'd clearly be the protective older brother, not the dad. Also deadchi jokes were fine at first but that point was crossed long ago. Also chaotic captain squad is always fun to read when it's done right with daichi reluctantly joining them only to actually have fun and end up joining the chaos as he should because he is a teenager and shouldn't have to be responsible for his same age friends who aren't on his team. Like he's not responsible for Suga or Asahi, why would he be the responsible one of the captains. Also I feel like he does have habits from looking after younger siblings but only in the treat them to things occasionally and is protective over them way.

Now suga. Idk if I've made it obvious but I love the pretty setter squad. I just do. The most obvious thing about Suga is how supportive he is, he helps hinata and kageyama as much as he can and is always there to lend advice and is basically the senpai both of them always needed but never truly had. Like for himata he helps teach him the basics and encourages him and believes in him. For kageyama he yachts him how to communicate with his team and is willing to teach him things where oikawa wasn't. Also he's chaotic but it's more subtle than nishinoya and tanaka. Like he'll tease people and lightly bully asahi but it's always lighthearted. Also idk why but I kinda love the idea of the setters just getting together to like care for their nails and hands and just chill together and gossip while occasionally lightly bullying each other. We love suga here

And finally asahi. Asahi is honestly basically anxiety personified and needs to be loved and protected at all times. I always love characters who look a certain way but then act the exact opposite. He's a huge softy and I feel like he'd give the best hugs. If you cried in front of him he'd panic and he gets sad when people get scared of him. Also him and nishinoya are adorable
