A continuation to Pick a Name. Again, you don’t really have to read it to understand this fic, but I would recommend it this time.

The moment the door was wide open enough, Jerry lunged forward and embraced his son in a hug. Russell would’ve nearly tumbled back in surprise.

“Oh, geez! Dad! I didn’t expect to see you so soon!” Russell exclaimed, wrapping his arms around his father to hug him back.

A few seconds of hugging done, the two of them let go. Jerry slapped a hand on Russell’s shoulder, smiling.

“Well, house renovations finished up quicker than I thought! So now I can get back all the stuff I left with you. Most notably…” Jerry bent down and picked up the two plants on each side of the door, hugging them by the pots, “These two!”

“Oh, right. Bertr- Uh, the plants.”

“I’ve missed these too real dearly, so it’s good to see you’ve been taking good care of them! I think Layla even grew a few new leaves! And Michael got a bit taller!”

“Ahh, so you did name them.”

“Eh?”

“Oh- it’s just, I was having a discussion with my friend the other day, and she was asking if they had names. I don’t remember if you ever told me, so I let her name one of them. Bertram.”

“But I did tell you! Remember when you brought your two boyos over with me? Er… Sunil and Vincent! Yeah…”

“Wait, really? Also, he prefers to be called Vinnie, dad.”

“Okay, okay! I was mentioning how the plants we had kinda matched, uh, Vinnie’s hair color. Kinda funny, you know? His stubble is kinda like a grassy, unevenly mowed lawn!” Jerry laughed a little too loudly at his own words.

So far Grell is like the only member of the church who wouldn't care if she got caught wooing a demon, the only reason girlie hasn't been kicked out yet is cause Hannah and Angela are saving her ass 😭 (Yeah, Grell, Hannah and Angela are a trio here).

Her first time actually seeing Sebastian was when Ronald finally got the courage to introduce Grell to Mey-Rin (since he trusts Grell the most cause besties) and they accidentally walked in on Sebastian harshly scolding Mey-Rin for messing around with a human for days. The room was filled with silence before Grell broke it with a "god DAYUM 😳😳😳" and immediately asked Ronald without hesitation, which one is "his" so she could take dips on the other one. And it all went down hill from there, Sebastian never heard of peace again after that 😔

It is kind of interesting to me how Blunt is getting portrayed as super heartless for not reacting more to the death and coming off looking much worse than the rest in MI6/the Department while Scorpia is arguably the book where Blunt comes out looking best. But the show is quite focused on Blunt as the bad guy while everyone else gets humanised more

Very excited by that last scene! I love Nile so much already, he’s very cool and I love him offering Alex a one-time chance to get info, and how it ends with Tom and Kyra having no idea what happened with Alex. Nice to see some stuff with the Department too and the letter to the prime minister (that apparently didn’t reach the prime minister’s office lmao)

Thoughts/predictions

Not entirely sure what the point was with the new data scientist story except to make Smithers and Mrs Jones upset and look more emotional than Blunt. Like yes, it’s very sad but also I do question how good they are at their jobs if they react to every death like this. In general the show seems to be isolating Blunt from the rest of the department people a lot more than the books, but I like how he still comes across as better than the Home Secretary (who should be fired just for plugging in that USB stick into her laptop, frankly).

Nile is very cool and I love him. Do miss his more casual and cheerful attitude from the book though, but I’m super excited to see where this goes and where he takes Alex. He’s getting answers!! Love Nile casually playing the bomb and setting the timer and just asking the scientist guy questions about the cardboard cover.

It’s kind of ironic how they are not telling Tom’s brother about what is going on when in the books Tom immediately tells Jerry that Alex is MI6 despite Alex talking to him about the importance of not telling anyone haha. But I like how he did catch on. I assume maybe Tom will end up being his photographer, but Alex being assumed dead or missing is probably not helping.

It’s really interesting how the demands have changed and how it’s more UK focused, which makes sense since in the books the context was very much the Iraq war and Tony Blair/Alistair Campbell and the special relationship between the USA and the UK. But here I assume the reason Scorpia picked the UK is personal, because the Department dealt the blow that nearly finished them off 17 years ago.

I have 7 kitties. Noodle, Jellybean, Pasta, Jerry, and Warlock are all children of Princess, who I found on the street. The 7th cat, and the one I had the longest, her name is June.

My go-to are typically Rearz or ABU because there is a store near me that sells them. The store mostly sells mobility equipment, though it has a section for adult diapers, onesies, and pacis. The aforementioned brands are the ones they most commonly have in stock, so I get those. I prefer ABU though. Specifically AlphaGatorZ, Little Kings, DinoRawrZ. (PeekAbu is also nice but not a go-to.)

I probably won’t get most Rearz again. Though they are cute, a lot of them just aren’t great quality or easily readjustable. Some of them are ok, and I’ve made reviews of them, but yeah.

SEASON 11 WAS AMAZING, I HAVE CRIED MULTIPLE TIMES.

They really went all out with the last season. I loved it and I crave the rumored movies to see how it ends. RICK MUST BE UNITED WITH HIS FAMILY. 😭

Honestly, I was super surprised whenever they finally had the balls to let the actors say fuck more then just once or twice 😂 I liked it, it felt more realistic and very much in character for a lot of the characters. I also very much enjoyed the horror this season gave off.

The reapers and the whispers have to be my favorite group of villains that have been introduced. Its been awhile since there were villains that really added the horror part to the show, and they deilvered, at least in my opinion. (*cough* glad Leah is dead tho *cough*)

Pamela and Hornsby also added the horror; those two were sadistic AF (props to the actors, they did a badass job). I could tell Hornsby was unstable from the moment I seen his creepy ass face. Oh, and I hated Sebastian. I felt bad for him because his mother is a gas lighting, abusive witch, but he's still a prick.

I was pleased to see that they had brought back the walkers from season one, where they open doors and pick up objects, and even gave them the ability to climb. THAT IS FUCKING SCARY DUDE. CAN YOU IMAGINE HOW TERRIFYING THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN IF THEY WOULD HAVE ADDED THIS SOONER??? One of them even picked up a FUCKING ROCK TO HIT JERRY WITH. THAT'S SCARY AF. Honestly, I'm a bit disappointed they waited so long because that is wasted potential right there. Season 1 was so good because the walkers weren't entirely brain dead. They could even SPRINT THEN TOO. And the fact that they waited until the big final to bring them back is disappointing. 😔 But it was cool nonetheless, so I can't be to upset lol. I wish Rick could have seen the climbing walkers though DAMN.

I WAS AFRAID WHEN JUDY GOT SHOT. What is it with Grimes and getting shot? 😭 I think it was the same spot Rick got shot in too. COINCIDENCE? I THINK NOT. When Daryl called her lil ass kicker and she called him big ass kicker was my favorite moment, it was so precious. 😂❤❤

Now I wanna take a moment to honor Rosita. WHY

THE WAY SHE SHOT UP THROUGH THOSE WALKERS? TO SAVE HER DAUGHTER?? BADASS MAMA BEAR ROSITA MOMENT. Rosita will always be one of my favorite characters. 😭

I cried when Eugene named his daughter after her. You cannot convince me otherwise; Eugene will always have a special place in his heart for Rosita.

Speaking of Eugene, I am so happy he found Max. He deserves her sm.<3 They are adorable together ahhh 🫶

PRINCESS AND MERCER ARE MY FAVORITE COUPLE THIS SEASON. They just work so well together. And Lydia and Elijah too, they are to cute 🫶 🫶 🫶

CAN WE TALK ABOUT CONNIE AND DARYL? The way they look at each other? The way she makes Daryl smile? Although Carol and Daryl have this magic between them and they would work very well (I like Caryl, don't get me wrong), so would Connie and Daryl. <3 He learned sign language for her, even. I think that speaks volumes. 🫶 🫶 🫶

NASCAR has implemented an update to the Next Gen NASCAR Cup Series chassis that will go into effect beginning with this weekend’s action at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Part of what fascinates me about motor sports is the ever evolving technology. When Kyle Larson was hit broadside by Ryan Preece at Talladega it caused the roll cage to fail. Luckily it was on the passenger side of the car. NASCAR did an analysis of the situation and altered the design of the Next Gen frame to reinforce it.

I’ve often wondered why drivers aren’t positioned in the center of the car when I see an incident like that one. It’s probably been studied and found to be less safe for all I know. 🏁
