Coronavirus: Face Masks to Be Mandatory across Germany
Tumblr media
All of states of Germany have declared plans to make face masks obligatory to fight coronavirus spread. Bremen was the final federal area to back the steps, with its senate on Friday expected to uphold the decision. Mask use will be mandatory in Germany on public transport, and almost all states will also make face coverings compulsory while shopping. Chancellor Angela Merkel strongly suggested their use last week when she lessened lockdown rules countrywide. Different countries have provided various guidelines regarding the use of face masks. At the beginning of this month Austria made them mandatory while shopping, but on Wednesday Switzerland announced that it would not make its residents wear masks as it softened its restrictions. The Robert Koch Institute of Germany (RKI) reported 145,694 cases, and documented a total of 4,879 deaths. Statistics from Wednesday showed a second consecutive day that new infections increased, with 281 deaths registered on Tuesday as opposed to 194. Johns Hopkins University in the U.S. estimates the German death toll at 5,117. Germany's federal vaccines institute, on Wednesday, approved clinical trials for a potential human-involved vaccine. With drug formulations developed by US pharmaceutical giant Pfizer and German firm BioNTech, approximately 200 healthy volunteers aged between 18 and 55 will be studied. Oxford University scientists are expected to begin human trials on Thursday, the UK Government reports. Separate trials are also underway in Seattle, the US capital. The Rules in Germany From Monday, the new laws come into effect in most states after they pass through local legislatures. But where face masks are required varies from state. These 16 states must make the face coverings a public transport requirement. Yet while shopping in Berlin it isn't going to be mandatory to wear a mask. That's also the case in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania's northern province: the province has declared a €25 fine for those caught on public transport without one. Many jurisdictions have yet to lay down sanctions. Rhineland-Palatinate in the south-west states students will be given reusable masks as they gradually start returning to school at the beginning of May, while masks in Bavaria are compulsory from Monday for anyone aged seven years and over. Even the mask form isn't defined consistently. Baden-Württemberg's Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann has said that surgical masks would be reserved for health staff, while scarves or fabric coverings should be appropriate for people on the street. The need to enforce the policies on people had previously been challenged by other state officials. Will Masks Become Mandatory Elsewhere? The World Health Organization (WHO) has repeatedly said that the sick and those who care for the sick need to wear masks since the epidemic started. Research indicates they are not as successful as daily soap and water hand washing, and can give users false faith. But a number of European states are starting to make masks mandatory on public transport and in stores, including Austria, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Others, like Spain, have begun giving out masks to the travelers. France has offered to manufacture appropriate masks for all its citizens if they wish to wear one. Alert: Covid-19 & History of Coronavirus
Human coronavirus history begins in 1965 when Tyrrell and Bynoe1 found that they could part of the virus called B814. Found in tracheal organ cultures of human embryos obtained from the respiratory tract of adults with the common cold. The presence of an infectious agent is indicated by inoculation of culture media is intranasal on human volunteers; cold produced in a significant proportion of subjects, but Tyrrell and Bynoe cannot grow the agent in tissue culture at that time. At the identical time, Hamre and Procknow2 ready to grow the virus with uncommon properties in tissue culture from a sample obtained from medical students with colds. Both B814 and Hamre virus, which he called the 229E, the ether-sensitive and therefore it may be necessary to coat the lipid-containing infectivity, but 2 viruses is not related to any known myxo- paramyxoviruses. While working in the laboratory of Robert Chanock at the National Institutes of Health, McIntosh et Al3 report some recovery agents ether-sensitive strains of the human respiratory tract by using a technique similar to that of Tyrrell and Bynoe. The virus is dubbed the “OC” to designate that they are growing in organ culture and very Impact on Business.
In the same timeframe, Almeida associated Tyrrell4 performed microscopy in organ culture fluid of infected B814 and realizes the particle that resembles an infectious respiratory disorder virus of chickens. The particles are medium-sized (80–150 nm), pleomorphic, layered membrane, and covered with widely spaced surface projections of the club-shaped. 229E agents known by Hamre and Procknow2 and OC virus is antecedently known by dessert apple ET Al3 have similar morphology.
In the late 1960s, Tyrrell led a group of virologists working with a number of strains of human and animal viruses. including infectious bronchitis virus, mouse hepatitis virus and infectious gastroenteritis virus of swine, all of which have proven the same morphology as seen through electron microscopy.5,6 this new group of virus called a coronavirus (corona which shows crown- like the appearance of projection surface) and then officially accepted as a new genus virus.
Ongoing studies using serological techniques have produced a plethora of information on the epidemiology of human respiratory coronavirus. It was found that in temperate regions, respiratory coronavirus infections occur more often in winter and spring than in summer and autumn. The data revealed that the coronavirus infections contribute as much as 35% of the total activity of the respiratory virus during an epidemic. Overall, he is the proportion of adult colds produced by coronavirus estimated 15% 0.8
In the three decades after the discovery, the human strain OC43 and 229E learned exclusively, mainly because they are the easiest to work with. OC43, adapted to growth in the mouse brain and subsequent breastfeeding for tissue culture, are found closely associated with hepatitis virus mice. Strain 229E grown in tissue culture directly from clinical samples. 2 virus showed periodicity, with major epidemics occur in 2 to 3 years intervals.9 Strain 229E tend epidemic across the United States, while the OC43 strain was more likely to be local outbreaks. Like many other respiratory viruses, reinfection is common.10 Infection can occur at any age, but it is most common in children.
Despite the broad focus is placed exclusively on strains 229E and OC43, it is clear that there are other coronavirus strains as well. As shown by Barnburner, 11 serological coronavirus strain B814 is not synonymous with either OC43 or 229E. Contributing to the tension differences in the coronavirus family, McIntosh ET al12 found that 3 of the 6 strains previously identified only much with OC43 or 229E.
Epidemiology and volunteer inoculation study found that respiratory coronavirus is associated with a variety of respiratory diseases; however, they are considered low.2,8,13,14 pathogenicity dominant disease associated with infection of the upper respiratory tract infection with occasional cases of pneumonia in infants and young adults.15,16 The virus also proved able to produce exacerbations of asthma in children as well as chronic bronchitis in adults and elderly and Impact on Business
While research continues to explore the pathogenesis and epidemiology of human coronavirus, the number, and importance of the rapidly growing animal coronavirus. Coronavirus is described that the disease caused in several animal species, including mice, rats, chickens, turkeys, cows, dogs, cats, rabbits, and pigs. Research in animals including, but not limited to, the research focused on respiratory disorders. Focus areas include disorders such as gastroenteritis, hepatitis, and encephalitis in mice; pneumonitis and sialo dacryoadenitis in mice; and infectious peritonitis in cats. Interest culminated in particular regarding the encephalitis field generated by the mouse hepatitis virus and peritonitis produced by infectious peritonitis virus in cats. The pathogenesis of this disease state is various and complex, suggesting that the genus as a whole is capable of various disease mechanisms.20 Human and animal coronaviruses are separated into three major groups based on antigenic and genetic makeup. Group, I contained 229E virus and other viruses, the second group contained the virus OC43 and group III consists of avian infectious bronchitis virus and a number of related bird’s viruses.21
What is a coronavirus?
Coronavirus could be a family of viruses better-known as a result of it contains strains that cause deadly diseases in mammals and birds. In humans, they are usually spread through airborne droplets of fluid produced by the infected individual.
Some strains of the rare but important, including SARS-CoV-2 (which is responsible for COVID-19), and those responsible for acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and the Middle East respiratory syndrome (mer), can cause death in humans.
First described in detail in 1960, coronavirus which gets its name from the typical corona or ‘crown’ of the sugar-protein particles project from the surrounding envelope? Encoding infective agent genomic make-up is that the longest of any RNA-based viruses — the fiber nucleic acids of roughly twenty-six,000 to 32,000 bases long. There is a unit four glorious genus within the family, named Alpha coronavirus, Beta coronavirus, Gamma coronavirus, and Delta coronavirus.
The first 2 solely infect mammals, as well as whacky, pigs, cats, and humans.
Gamma coronavirus principally infects birds like chickens, whereas Delta coronavirus will infect each bird and mammals. What are the symptoms of coronavirus?
Coronaviruses can cause a variety of symptoms in animals are different. While some strains cause diarrhea in pigs and turkeys, most infections can be compared with a bad cold, causing mild to moderate upper respiratory problems such as colds and sore throats.
There are some exceptions deadly, which has a devastating impact on animal and human health worldwide.
COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2)
SARS-CoV-2 was initially known within the Chinese town of a metropolis in 2019. At the time of writing, the number of infected is still increasing, with a death rate of about 1 percent.
Snake initially suspected as a potential source for the outbreak, although other experts have considered this bat is not possible and proposed instead. In February 2020, a search of animal origin from COVID-19 is underway.
Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS-CoV)
SARS was 1st recognized as a definite strain of coronavirus in 2003. The source of the virus is never clear, even though the first human infection can be traced back to the Chinese province of Guangdong in 2002.
The virus then becomes a pandemic, caused more than 8,000 infections of influenza-like illness in 26 countries with nearly 800 deaths.
The Middle East respiratory syndrome (Mers-CoV)
Mers first identified in Saudi Arabia in 2012 on people to show symptoms of fever, cough, shortness of breath and sometimes gastrointestinal problems such as diarrhea. An animal supply for the virus has ne’er been formally confirmed, though proof points to an artiodactyl camel as a possible reservoir of infection.
The World Health Organization has identified about 2,500 cases of infection in 27 countries since the initial outbreak, which resulted in nearly 860 deaths.

CDC Warns the U.S. Could See a Higher Summer Death Toll
Tumblr media
A leading US model has increased its estimated death toll for coronavirus to 66,000 by August, up 10 percent from its previous estimate. On Tuesday, Dr. Chris Murray, the director of the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington stated the change came as states started to update their death reports, adding residents of nursing homes to which authorities now count as assumed positives. Murray said However, as these figures increase and render the pandemic larger than previously believed, the timetable for calming social distancing steps should be slowed down. Murray's team of experts was surprised when states like Georgia, which still has a high number of infections, declared that they would soon lighten those restrictions, he stated. Brian Kemp, Georgia Gov. and a Republican, said his state is ready to deal with the anticipated increase in cases as companies start reopening on Friday. Furthermore, Murray uncovered, "If people start to go back to normal social interaction or even progressively go back, the risk of transmission will go up ... and then you go back to the sort of exponential rise that was happening before we put in social distancing, The risk is very great for resurgence from these early openings." That's how the director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention gave a threatening prediction of a potential second wave of the virus over the winter. Robert Redfield, CDC Director, told The Washington Post "There's a possibility that the assault of the virus on our nation next winter will actually be even more difficult than the one we just went through, we're going to have the flu epidemic and the coronavirus epidemic at the same time." More than 826,240 infections and at least 45,373 death toll has been reported in the United States so far. Any beneficiaries of federal benefits must act quickly if they wish to see an extra $500 per qualifying child early. Such groups do not make enough money to be eligible to file a tax return, including those earning Social Security and Supplementary Security Income. Earlier this week, the Internal Revenue Service stated, "Their $1,200 payments will be issued soon and, in order to add the $500 per eligible child amount to these payments, the IRS needs the dependent information before the payments are issued," The details can be submitted online by Wednesday at noon EST on the "Non-filers: Enter Payment Info" application. More Protests against State Stay-At-Home Orders
Tumblr media
Another demonstration against Virginia's stay-at-home order is planned in Richmond on Wednesday, the latest in a growing national campaign against governors juggling healthcare and economic issues amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. There were also protests in Colorado, Michigan, Kentucky, Pennsylvania and other counties. Several states, under pressure from demonstrators and the White House, have made moves to scale back social distancing legislation imposed to combat the spread of COVID-19. Gov. Greg Abbott signed executive orders Friday in Texas to loosen some of the most serious constraints on the state. A ban on un-essential surgery will be loosened Wednesday and starting Friday, retail companies will be able to operate with a curbside pickup. Danny DeVito, Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, more on Fundraiser
Tumblr media
Some of the biggest stars band in New Jersey together to give back during the coronavirus pandemic Wednesday. The "Jersey for Jersey" special will feature Jon Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, Tony Bennett, Halsey, SZA, Jon Stewart, Chris Rock, Danny DeVito, Chelsea Handler and many more from their homes to raise funds. Money raised by the hour-long broadcast will go to the New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund, launched to help bring support to vulnerable communities around the state that was hit hard by the pandemic of coronavirus. The special streams at 7 p.m. ET are to be unfolded on multiple platforms. Digital Earth Day's 50th Anniversary

WHO Cautions Rush to Ease Virus Rules Could Lead to Resurgence
Tumblr media
On Tuesday, the World Health Organization (WHO) said that trying to relax restrictions on coronavirus would likely lead to a revival of the disease, a warning that comes as policymakers begin carrying out strategies to get their economies moving again. Dr. Takeshi Kasai, WHO regional director for the Western Pacific, “This is not the time to be lax. Instead, we need to ready ourselves for a new way of living for the foreseeable future.” He said policymakers need to remain vigilant to avoid the spread of the virus and to slowly remove lockdowns and other social distancing measures and strike the right balance between keeping citizens safe and enabling economies to work. Aggressive Plans to Reopen the Economy Despite health officials' fears, several U.S. states reported ambitious reopening plans on Monday, while Boeing and at least one other U.S. manufacturer of heavy machinery resumed production. Across Europe, where the crisis has started to ebb across countries like Italy, Spain and Germany, step-by-step reopenings have been taking place elsewhere around the world. On Tuesday, Australia said it would allow non-urgent surgery to start from next week as health officials are more assured that Covid-19 patients won't overload hospitals there. On Tuesday, the reopenings come as policymakers get tired of rising numbers of unemployment and economic crisis prospects. Asian shares led Wall Street lower after US oil futures fell below zero as factories, cars and aeroplanes remain idle due to a worldwide glut. The cost of having delivered a barrel of US crude in May plummeted to negative $37.63 as traders ran out of places to store it. At the start of the year it was at about $60. Companies that start operating in the US again are likely to build goodwill with President Donald Trump at a time when his administration is giving out billions of dollars in relief to companies. Trump has been agitated to revive the economy, singing out Democratic-led states and egging demonstrators arguing that the shutdowns are damaging their livelihoods and trampling on their freedoms. Many States Reopen Businesses and Public Spaces
Tumblr media
Governors said they had seen signs in some states-most of them Republican-led-that the coronavirus curve was flattening, making it easier to reopen businesses and public spaces. Brian Kemp, Georgia Governor, has announced plans to revive the economy of his state before the week ends. Kemp said hair salons, gyms, bowling alleys, and tattoo parlors could reopen on Friday as long as owners met strict criteria for social distance and hygiene. Texas began a week of slow reopenings on Monday, beginning with state parks, while officials said the stores would be able to provide curbside service later in the week. Tennessee Governor Bill Lee declared that businesses across most of the state would start reopening as early as next week, but the order did not comprise counties with the biggest cities like Nashville, Memphis, Knoxville and Chattanooga. Republicans rule both nations. On Monday, Republican West Virginia Governor Jim Justice said he would authorize hospitals to conduct elective procedures if the facilities meet an unspecified set of requirements as per WHO. On Monday, Jared Polis, Governor of Democratic Colorado, said he will allow his compulsory stay-at-home order to expire next week as long as strict social distancing and other individual security initiatives continue. But governors from several other states said they lacked the supplies they needed for testing and warned that a second wave of infections could reach them, considering how people with no symptoms can still transmit the disease. Gretchen Whitmer, referring to restrictions in place in her state, remarked, “Who in this great state actually believes that they care more about jet skiing than saving the lives of the elderly or the vulnerable? This action isn’t about our individual right to gather. It’s about our parents’ right to live.” Do not forget leaving your valuable comment on this piece of writing and sharing with your near and dear ones. Trump to Suspend Immigration into the U.S. due to Coronavirus
Tumblr media
Donald Trump said he is going to sign an executive order to momentarily suspend all immigration to the U.S. because of the coronavirus. In a late night post on Twitter, he cited "the attack from the invisible enemy", as he calls the virus, and "the need to protect the jobs" of Americans. He did not provide any further details. Critics propose the Trump’ administration is taking advantage of the pandemic to smash immigration. The country has 792,913 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus and 42,517 deaths. The declaration by Mr. Trump comes as the White House also propose that the worst of the pandemic is over and the country can start reopening again. The US has already agreed to extend border limits on non-essential travel, for both Canada and Mexico, until at least mid-May. Travel from Europe and China has also been heavily restricted, although people with temporary visas for jobs, students and business travelers are excluded. The Rationale behind the Move Donald Trump's attempts at social media regulation should also be viewed with a large grain of salt. His track record on following through directives on Twitter is certainly mixed. Announced a few hours before midnight on Monday, the particulars of his indefinite ban on all immigration will shed some light on the scope and legality of his actions. Nonetheless, it is no secret that the president, and many main advisors, have long regarded immigration as a drain, not as a gain to the country. And his tweet's text, that the change is important not just to protect the wellbeing of the country but also "the jobs of its great American citizens," just underlines that. There is no doubt that the plan would be fiercely opposed by pro-immigration parties, certain corporate interests and political critics of the president in whatever shape it takes. That is probably just fine with a man who likes to draw political lines of battle and wherever possible goad his critics. The president had campaigned on an aggressive anti-immigration platform four years earlier, comprising a complete, if temporary, ban on all Muslims entering the country. Now, with a looming uphill battle for re-election, he has given champion a similarly combative tool. The Novel Coronavirus Pandemic is Changing Anti-vaxxers’ Mindset
Tumblr media
Scientists race to create an unparalleled inoculation of the coronavirus and many political leaders have cautioned that the constraints on our lives cannot be removed entirely until one is available. This is a problem for the anti-vaxxers community, many of whose members strongly oppose mandatory vaccinations. Yet something more surprising has been achieved by the virus too. It has made a few anti-vaxxers alter their mindsets. Haley Searcy, who is 26 and from Florida, unfolded she was “fully anti-vax” when, in 2019, her daughter was born. "I had seen so many accounts of kids dying from SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) and having other dangerous reactions due to vaccines," she added, recapping the scientifically unfounded but widespread concern among vaccine treatments that even those therapies which have undergone extensive testing can still be risky. "I was just as scared of vaccines as I was of the diseases they protect against." Searcy said she "begrudgingly allowed her to be vaccinated," after being informed by her daughter's pediatrician, yet they also thought the vaccines would be needless and harmful. Her opinion has been shifted with the coronavirus outbreak. She stated, "Since Covid-19, I've seen firsthand what these diseases can do when they're not being fought with vaccines." "My mother has a lung disease, so if she gets Covid-19 there is no fighting it. I learned as much as I could to speak out against misinformation in the hopes that I could convince more people to stay home and follow social distancing so that she won't get sick. So many lives are at stake, including people I care about who are very vulnerable." In the course of researching how the world had dealt with pandemics in the past, Searcy discovered how vaccines had been used to counter recent pandemics such as swine flu. "And I've learned just how rigorous vaccine trials are before they're made available to the public," she added. She also gathered details about countries that had reduced coronavirus spread. "I wasn't actively looking for vaccine information but the more I learned, the more I realized it would help and the easier it became to recognize the lack of science in anti-vax arguments," she stated. According to polling carried out for a research group at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine – Vaccine Confidence Project – in a number of nations, including the United Kingdom and France, concerns raised by some in recent years about vaccinations in general have eased.
Tumblr media
Deidi Larson, VCP director, said Figures showed that, as the number of coronavirus deaths escalated and public understanding of its severity raised, people became more likely to take a vaccine. "I think it definitely is provoking people to rethink a lot of things," she said. Yet she warned there was a need for more data to monitor the reaction over time. She stated some were "going to the opposite side" and were distrustful of a potential coronavirus vaccine - the anti-vaxxers. "This is an important time to reflect on the value of vaccines," said Larson. "If we had had a vaccine for this, we wouldn't be locked up in a room, the economies wouldn't be crumbling, and we would have been a whole different world. The question I would ask is, do we have to wait for something to be this bad?" Once vaccinations are common and people see little threat, they are more cautious, Larson said. Yet she added futher that shielding society "totally depends on public cooperation." Many who openly object to vaccination now face harsh critic. Tennis player Novak Djokovic raised eyebrows on Sunday after he shared his views on a coronavirus vaccine while addressing the pandemic's effects. "Personally I am opposed to vaccination and I wouldn't want to be forced by someone to take a vaccine in order to be able to travel," Novak Djokovic stated in a Facebook live chat. "But if it becomes compulsory, what will happen? I will have to make a decision. I have my own thoughts about the matter and whether those thoughts will change at some point, I don't know." Some anit-vaxxers fear that governments will make use of lockdowns as an excuse to drive through regulations such as compulsory vaccination compliance. This is a big problem for Lynette Marie Barron, who runs an organization called Tough Love, and who actively lobbied twice against bills to restrict religious vaccination exemptions in her state of Alabama. Barron has children suffering from health issues. One of her daughters was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that came after she was given vaccines in her youth, Barron says. Another daughter was born with extreme autism, which Barron attributes after injuring a finger during pregnancy to a tetanus vaccine she was given. Such fears have been debunked multiple times by a number of independent groups encompassing the non-government institute of Medicine – The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO). Novak Djokovic Opposes Obligatory the Novel Coronavirus Vaccination
Tumblr media
Novak Djokovic faces a dilemma whether players are forced to get vaccinated before they can continue playing once the tennis season begins again following the hiatus created by the novel coronavirus outbreak, said world No. 1 tennis player in men's singles. He said in a live Facebook chat a few fellow Serbian athletes, “Personally I am opposed to vaccination and I wouldn’t want to be forced by someone to take a vaccine in order to be able to travel.” “But if it becomes compulsory, what will happen? I will have to make a decision. I have my own thoughts about the matter and whether those thoughts will change at some point, I don’t know. “Hypothetically, if the season was to resume in July, August or September, though unlikely, I understand that a vaccine will become a requirement straight after we are out of strict quarantine and there is no vaccine yet.” Former world number one tennis player – Amelie Mauresmo – said last month that the remaining tennis season of 2020 could be washed out, saying the activity shouldn't restart until players can get a novel coronavirus vaccine. In a widely shared tweet, the two-time grand slam winner stated, “International circuit = players of all nationalities plus management, spectators and people from the 4 corners of the world who bring these events to life. No vaccine = no tennis.” Medical experts have stated that vaccines against the respiratory virus will not be available until next year, creating concerns about the prospect of contesting any more tennis tournaments this year. The Wimbledon Championships this year have been postponed for the first time since World War II, while the French Open, initially scheduled for May 24-June 7, has been rescheduled for Sept. 20 to Oct. 4, shortly after the end of the U.S. open. Novak Djokovic made a flying beginning to the 2020 season, winning the Australian Open in January for his 17th grand slam title and extending his winning streak to 18 matches until the pandemic interrupted sporting events around the world. Among the activities postponed until next year were the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and the Euro 2020 soccer championship, as the pandemic has caused 165,000 deaths worldwide. To date, the tennis governing bodies have postponed all tournaments until July 13. Moreover, this year's women's Rogers Cup in Montreal, which was scheduled to take place in August, will also not be held. Why Did Singapore Cases Boost up? A Mysterious Situation
Tumblr media
Singapore, less than a month ago, was hailed as one of the countries that got the right response to coronavirus. Encouragingly the city-state appeared to have resolved cases for the rest of the world without implementing the draconian lockout measures faced by millions elsewhere. As time moved on, the second wave hit, hard. According to data from Johns Hopkins University, since 17th March the number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in Singapore has risen from 266 to more than 5,900. Although thousands of cases are registered each day in the worst-hit countries of Western Europe and the United States, Singapore has a population of 5.7 million people and a total area of approximately 700 square kilometers — it's smaller than New York City — but those figures are higher. But Singapore also has benefits that a lot of larger countries don't possess. It has only one big land boundary, with Malaysia, and can maintain tight control over people coming in by air. This also has a world-class health network and a commitment to more strict laws and regulations that can support a government as it tries to contain a pandemic. In a nutshell, what happened suddenly? The response seems to lie in neglected clusters of cases between migrant workers living in cramped dormitories and an underestimation of the pace at which those infections could spread through a city where lockdown measures had not been enforced to control Singapore cases. Trump Cautions China Could Face Consequences for Virus Outbreak
On Saturday, President Donald Trump warned China that if it was "knowingly responsible" for the novel virus outbreak it will face repercussions, as he intensified Beijing's criticism of its treatment of the outbreak During a daily White House briefing, Mr. Trump said, “It could have been stopped in China before it started and it wasn’t, and the whole world is suffering because of it.” It was the latest U.S. volley in a word war between the two largest economies in the world, indicating heightened friction in relationships at a time when according to experts an unprecedented level of cooperation and collaboration is entailed to cope with the devastating virus outbreak. “If it was a mistake, a mistake is a mistake. But if they were knowingly responsible, yeah, I mean, then sure there should be consequences,” Trump stated. He has not commented on what steps the U.S. might take. Mr. Donald Trump and senior aides have censured China of losing accountability since the coronavirus broke out in its city of Wuhan late last year. He suspended World Health Organization funding this week and accused it of being "China-centric." Washington and Beijing have frequently sparred over the virus in public. Trump initially lavished praise for his statement on China and his counterpart Xi Jinping. However, he and other senior officials have referred to it as the "Chinese virus," and have ramped up their rhetoric in recent days. They also vigorously denied earlier attempts by some Chinese officials to blame the US military for the sources of the virus.
Tumblr media
Trump's domestic critics argue that although China performed badly at the outset and still needs to be honest about what happened, he is now trying to use Beijing to help redirect his own response from the shortcomings and take an edge of developing anit-China emotions among some voters for his 2020 re-election bid. White House officials are, however, at the same time aware of the possible backlash if things get too high. The United States relies heavily on China for personal protective equipment which American medical workers urgently need and Trump is also keen to keep track of a hard-won trade agreement. Trump said the relationship between the U.S. and China had been good until recently, citing a multi-billion agricultural deal intended to defuse a brutal trade war. “But then all of a sudden you hear about this,” he stated. Chinese were “embarrassed” he said, and the question was whether what happened with the virus outbreak was “a mistake that got out of control, or was it done deliberately?” “There’s a big difference between those two,” he added. Wuhan Lab Trump also raised concerns about a Wuhan virology laboratory that the coronavirus was likely created as part of China's attempt to demonstrate its ability to recognize and combat viruses. Trump has said his government is trying to conclude whether the virus originated from a Chinese laboratory. As of February, the Chinese state-sponsored Wuhan Institute of Virology debunked claims that the virus might have been synthesized artificially in one of its laboratories or perhaps escaped from such a facility. Wandering off the coronavirus issue, Trump also used the White House briefing to take a swing at supposed Democratic presidential nominee – Joe Biden – and his long record as senator and prior vice president on China. Mr. Trump while focusing on his own confrontational trade terms toward China and using his nickname “Sleepy Joe” for his rival, stated if Biden wins the White House that China and the rest of countries “will take our country.” Trump also raised doubts again regarding China's death rate, which was updated on Friday. China stated 1,300 people died of the virus outbreak in Wuhan were not counted, but dismissed accusations of a cover-up. The United States has the highest number of recorded cases of coronavirus in the world by far, with more than 720,000 infections and more than 37,000 deaths. In his annual letter to shareholders, CEO Jeff Bezos emphasizes the need for routine testing for rising industry to "both help keep people safe and help get the economy back up and running." For this to happen, he said that society needs "vastly more testing capacity" than it currently has. He has placed together a team of Amazon employees from various departments to build new resources for Covid-19 to test. Bezos said Amazon would soon start testing "small numbers" of employees. "We are not sure how far we will get in the relevant time frame, but we think it's worth trying, and we stand ready to share anything we learn," he stated. In his message, Bezos said he's concentrating on the health of the global workforce of Amazon, amid persistent criticism that the company is not doing enough and has fired outspoken critics. He further added, the company has made 150 "important process improvements" in both its network and Whole Foods operations besides devising coronavirus test. That encompasses temperature regulation, improved facilities sanitation and employees being given personal protective equipment, such as masks.

Cases of coronavirus have been identified at Amazon facilities in Virginia, California and New York among others, triggering calls for deep cleaning to be closed for fulfillment centers. Employees have also been holding walkouts to oppose the decision by Amazon to hold warehouses open. Recently, Amazon has employed about 200,000 new staff to meet rising demand for critical households and other market-spurred commodities. Scammers have also figured out a fertile sandbox on Amazon's website. Bezos said that during the pandemic it suspended more than 6,000 vendor accounts from around the world on its website for price gouging on critical goods. In addition, it has also withdrawn over 500,000 listings from Amazon's website for price gouging and enhanced reporting to authorities of price gougers. Bezos said, "To accelerate our response to price-gouging incidents, we created a special communication channel for state attorneys general to quickly and easily escalate consumer complaints to us." "I'm so sad I won't be able to see you guys in concert this year, but I know this is the right decision," Swift wrote on Twitter. "Please, please stay healthy and safe. I'll see you on stage as soon as I can but right now what's important is committing to this quarantine, for the sake of all of us." She revealed on the twitter. Chin’s denies It Concealed the Virus Death Toll in Wuhan
A spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry stated that some medical institutes were overloaded with patients during the early stages of the outbreak and had little link with the disease prevention and control system, but "no concealing existed" on the part of death toll. On Friday, China's Foreign Ministry said Wuhan's upward review of coronavirus cases and deaths was a matter of historical and public duty, denying claims that it was a cover-up. The "timely" revision was necessary for scientific decision-making, as well as being a "response to social issues," Zhao Lijian, Foreign Ministry spokesperson, said. He said some medical facilities were stunned with patients during the early stages of the outbreak and had failed to communicate with the network of disease prevention and control. "Missed and mistaken reporting, objectively, did occur, but no concealing existed or was allowed." Issues have long swirled around the accuracy of Chinese case reporting, with Wuhan in January going in particular several days without reporting new cases or death toll. Many U.S. officials, including President Trump, flirted with an unfounded hypothesis that a Chinese lab had loosened the latest coronavirus to the world that permitted it to escape. There is already an emerging scientific consensus. Yet, scientists generally believe study of the genome of the new coronavirus rules out the possibility of it being created by humans, as indicated by some conspiracy theories.
Tumblr media
The U.S. worked mainly to "confuse the public, divert attention and shirk accountability." Zhao – spokesperson – in Beijing, said. "We urge the US to stop political manipulation, do their part, and focus more on how to overcome the virus and boost the economy as soon as possible," he stated. The new coronavirus causes mild to moderate symptoms for most people, such as fever and cough which will clear up in two to three weeks. But the virus is extremely infectious, and can spread through those with noticeable signs that are mild or not. This can cause more serious illness, including pneumonia, which may lead to death for others, particularly older adults and those with established health problems. China Dismisses U.S. Claim – Low-Level Nuclear Test
Tumblr media
This is committed to a nuclear test moratorium after the U.S. says China might have carried out a clandestine explosion says Beijing. China says it is committed to a nuclear test moratorium after a US State Department report which stated Beijing may have performed underground, secret nuclear experiments at low level. On Thursday, Zhao Lijian – foreign ministry spokesman – stated that China has successfully fulfilled obligations to arms control treaties and said the false allegations made by Washington are not worth refuting. He said, "China has always adopted a responsible attitude, earnestly fulfilling the international obligations and promises it has assumed." "The US criticism of China is entirely groundless, without foundation, and not worth refuting," he added. The argument made by the State Department, first stated by the Wall Street Journal, could exacerbate relations already strained by US charges that the global COVID-19 pandemic resulted from the mishandling of the 2019 coronavirus outbreak in the town of Wuhan in Beijing. US worries about potential violations of a 'zero-yield' test blasts requirement by Beijing have been triggered during 2019 by activities at China's Lop Nur nuclear test site, uncovered in the State Department report.
Tumblr media
Zero yield means a nuclear test where the form of explosive chain reaction caused by the detonation of a nuclear warhead does not occur. The very report, without presenting evidence of a low-yield test, stated, "China's possible preparation to operate its Lop Nur test site year-round, its use of explosive containment chambers, extensive excavation activities at Lop Nur, and a lack of transparency on its nuclear testing activities ... raise concerns regarding its adherence to the zero yield standard," The lack of accountability in Beijing included the blocking of data transmissions from sensors linked to a control center run by the international agency that verifies compliance with a treaty banning nuclear tests. The Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty (CTBT) of 1996 provides for measures intended to protect nuclear weapons. A CTBT spokesperson who tests compliance with the deal told the Wall Street Journal data transmission from China's five sensor stations has not been disrupted since the end of August 2019, despite an interruption that began in 2018. A senior U.S. official said that worries about China's research practices backed the case of President Donald Trump for China joining the U.S. and Russia in arms control talks accord to substitute the 2010 New START treaty between Moscow and Washington that expires in February. New START required the United States and Russia to deploy no more than 1,550 nuclear warheads, the lowest level in decades, and the land and submarine missiles and bombers that delivered them were limited.
Tumblr media
The U.S. senior official said on the condition of anonymity, "the pace and manner by which the Chinese government is modernizing its stockpile is worrying, destabilizing and illustrates why China should be brought into the global arms control framework." China, estimated to have around 300 nuclear weapons, has dismissed Trump's plan on many occasions, claiming that its nuclear arsenal is defensive and poses no threat. Russia, France and Britain – three of the five nuclear powers that are internationally acknowledged – signed and ratified the CTBT which still entails endorsement by 44 countries of the world to become in international law. China and the US are among eight signatories that refused to ratify it. Yet China has proclaimed adherence to its terms, while the U.S. has maintained a moratorium on unilateral research since 1992. Coronavirus: Virus Tracing App Ready for Germany Rollout
On Friday, Jens Spahn – Health Minister –  giving a news conference on the coronavirus (COVID-19) disease said in three to four weeks a corona virus tracing app will be available for Germans to download and use on their smartphones On Wednesday, German federal and state government said they would encourage the voluntary use of the virus tracing app, if available, so that people can learn easily when exposed to an infected person. Spahn unfolded to broadcaster ARD, developers are working hard on an app to ensure levels of data security are "as perfect as possible" “For it to be really good, it needs more like three to four weeks rather than two weeks,” he added.
Tumblr media
Germany, with the fifth highest COVID-19 caseload, is behind the United States, Italy, Spain and France at about 138,000 but owing to the early and extensive testing, she has kept fatalities down to a comparatively low 4,093  taking precautionary measures for its wellbeing. Nevertheless, the German authorities have been more vigilant than other Asian countries in using emerging technologies to counter coronavirus, mindful of public skepticism towards any surveillance reminiscent of Nazi- or communist-era rule and controlled by Europe’s strict data privacy laws. This fruitful measure, to have valuable insights regarding coronavirus – virus tracing app – is going to extend the facts and figures, and to purge the prevailing ambiguity pertaining to over or under estimation of data.
