I'm thinking hard about my Secret Project™. I'm not a fan of straight spines, I prefer rounded ones, and the last four books I've bound had increasingly well-done rounded spines. I'm afraid this project will necessitate a straight spine, however.

Firstly, I want to do something with the edges this time. So far, I didn't have a guillotine (and hurt myself when trying to trim the edges even) so I let the long edge as it was. With a rounded spine, that means the edge forms a slight hollow. This isn't compatible with my plan for the edges this time, and even if I'm going to have a guillotine soon and could make it a straight edge, that's not the only issue.

My second issue is the fabric I'll be using to bind this project. It will be uncooperative at best, and I don't think it will work with the technique I use when making a rounded spine. I think it would be safer (if thicker) if I make a straight spine, because then the chipboard strip will offer a better "grip" to the fabric.

Also, wouldn't a bulkier shape better suit the theme of this project? Do I want this to be smooth, or to be a chonky boy?

This is very much a ramble for my own benefit, I'll figure it out for good halfway through the project at the latest.

Why am I selling this? Well for one thing! The extra cash to buy art supplies would be nice, as I’m currently in art school in the year of our lord coronavirus. I’ve had a lot of hours at work cut, and getting a little money back from this will help me work through my final semester :’D And speaking of art school, that’s the other reason I’m selling this.
