im thinking about this line all the time. it could imply overtaking, thieving, to spread throughout land, memory, or people, even if through only legacy. and that would be so interesting to me.

i think most people tend to write this off as her having a very strong sex drive, which i slightly disagree with. it seems closer to hunger for a territory or deep-rooted role than for sex, although i think its kind of both and kind of neither.

and her branches have broken out, intruding into the gardens. she cant even stop herself! to me, this also means that while, yes, she does want to spread through family, and the making and strengthening of it, her need is to spread entirely herself, almost as if she was a parasite.

you know, like a determined weed has to proliferate crops. something along those lines. there is a similarity to the radiances infection that could be found here, i think.

theres also these branches left in the white palace. theyre faded, which means they could be dying, perhaps because they were split from the root when she caged herself in her cocoon, and left to wither.

they suggest she might have had more reign, and would have expanded more, when the white palace was still functional, populated and busy—you know, when hallownest was alive.

(it would be cool if, before locking herself away, she could show up wherever her branches are. like, she just pops up out of nowhere in the empty, misty expanses of the white palace, lively vines around the place and all.)
