What do you think of the new generation of Hollywood starts?
You already talked about Timmy who by the way is a miscast Wonka for sure
What do you think about:
-Tom Holland (he surprised me in The Crowded room, he has more range than I thought)
-Zendaya(I have yet to be proved wrong about her being loved only for her beauty, fashion sense and unproblematic image)
-Saoirse Ronan (to me she is like Timmy, but femal version)
-Florence Pugh (I think she is good, probably the best of the bunch)
Ooh, I like this 😊
Tom Holland - Doesn't say much to me, he was the Spiderman guy, absolutely nothing impressive. But I did watch an episode of The Crowded Room and he was fine. He's not some incredible talent or a charismatic guy. He's another English bloke that can act without making a total fool of himself.
Zendaya - I know she is all the rave and she was praised a lot for her role in Euphoria, but I don't have any interest in her. Plenty of actresses stand out for their beauty and fashion style (curated by amazing stylists). And I guess being "unproblematic" brings a lot of points. I don't know, I'm not really into Disney stars turned into serious actors. I don't have anything against them, I just find them boring. Except Ryan Gosling, lol.
Saoirse Ronan - Now we're talking. I was amazed by her acting in Atonement. I saw it when it was released and I couldn't believe we were the same age. I also like her career choices and I hope she sticks to interesting projects. I'm so done with good actors signing contracts for movies based on comics or some damn franchize only for money. I think Saoirse made some good choices career-wise. Good films with a bit of a mass appeal, but not too much.
Florence Pugh - Oh, Florence is good. Really good. I've seen her films since she made her debut, before becoming a star. She has a distinct quality and the ability to work with a mediocre script and still deliver a good performance. Case in point, Don't Worry, Darling. Her acting skills stood out even more in the scenes she had with Harry Styles who was absolutely awful (stick to singing or whatever).

James Caan, an American actor best known for playing gangster Sonny Corleone in the acclaimed mafia film "The Godfather," has passed away at age 82, his family announced on Thursday.
The actor passed away on Wednesday night, according to a statement on Caan's official Twitter account. There was no mention of a cause of death or place.
"The family appreciates the outpouring of love and heartfelt condolences and asks that you continue to respect their privacy during this difficult time," the statement said.
For his depiction of the irritable Corleone in the 1972 film "The Godfather," Caan was nominated for an Academy Award for best supporting actor. In the 1974 film "The Godfather: Part II," he played the part again in flashback sequences. Four Golden Globe nominations and an Emmy were among the others.
Michael Corleone, who was played by Al Pacino in "The Godfather," called James Caan "a great actor, a brilliant director, and my dear friend."
"It’s hard to believe that he won’t be in the world anymore because he was so alive and daring," Pacino said in a statement.
Francis Ford Coppola, who directed Caan in "The Godfather" and 1969 movie "The Rain People," said Caan's films "and the many great roles he played will never be forgotten."
Caan's career lasted six decades and featured a wide range of other parts in films like the comedy "Elf" and the psychological horror "Misery." He co-starred with Ellen Burstyn in the romantic comedy "Queen Bees" last year.
James Edmund Caan was born to German immigrants on March 26, 1940, in the Bronx neighbourhood of New York City. Caan, one of three siblings, made his television acting debut in 1961. He received considerable praise for his performance as Brian Piccolo, a real-life Chicago Bears football star who passed away from cancer at the age of 26, in the 1971 TV movie "Brian's Song." Caan received an Emmy nomination for the part.
Billy Dee Williams, who co-starred with Caan in "Brian's Song," recently posted an undated picture of the two on Twitter.
"Team Mates and friends till the end. RIP Jimmy," Williams tweeted with a broken heart emoji.

Michael Clarke Duncan - Gentle Giant
Tumblr media
Actor Michael Clarke Duncan would be 65 today, unfortunately he left us ten years ago. Certainly John Coffey's most famous role in the film "The Green Mile" (1999).
It didn't look at all like this man would ever be an actor. Michael was forced to leave the university because his single mother - a maid by trade - fell ill. So he supported his sister and her. Until the age of 30, he first mined, and then worked as a security guard. He was 196 cm tall and weighed 142 kg. He was a security guard for the film company and actors Will Smith, Jamie Foxx and Martin Lawrence. His mother felt that her son should no longer remain in the shadows and that he should try his hand at acting. He was noticed and quickly appeared in the comedy "Petak" and then in a series of commercials. He broke out with the movie Armageddon (1998). Bruce Willis, who starred with Duncan in that film (later in three others), was a fan of King's book and recommended him to director Frank Darabont for the role in "The Green Mile." At the audition, Darabont liked the kindness of such a great guy and that, along with his talent, was a determining factor in his choice. He later said that he was very happy that he was chosen for the role, because even with Tom Hanks, the movie wouldn't have been as powerful without Michael. To play the role as convincingly as possible, for the emotional scenes in the movie "The Green Mile", Michael would remember how his father abandoned him when he was a child. He ended up being nominated for an Oscar and many other awards. He loved lending his deep voice to cartoons, it was one of his favorite jobs. People often stopped him on the street, but almost nobody knew his name – because of that, the actor had the habit of honoring anyone who knew his name with a few dollars. Duncan died of a heart attack at age 55. 🧔🏿‍♂️❤️🌍
