spiderman!ellie x reader | tlou m.list
synopsis: ellie is in your biology class, she’s the quiet teachers assistant, who also happens to double as your agency’s part time photographer, but you notice that lately she’s been acting strange..
───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────
You never really noticed her before, to you, she was just the nerdy TA and your agency’s assistant photographer but right now, you needed her to be your saviour. You were failing your biology class, a side effect of how many modelling gigs you’ve picked up to pay your tuition but what good was paying your tuition if you couldn’t even pass your classes? That’s how you ended up practically begging Ellie to tutor you.
“God, please, Williams,” you sighed, taking her hand in yours, “I’ll do anything! I’ll even pay you or I could speak to the agency—.”
“I-it’s fine, Y/l/n, I can do it,” she pried her hand out of yours and nodded, “Just put in a good word with your boss, yeah?”
You practically jump when she says that, “Oh thank you, thank you so much! Um, do you have my number?”
Ellie bashfully nods, “Uh, yeah, I have all the model’s numbers..”
You nod, “Okay, cool! Let’s meet at my place tonight, yeah? Maybe around 6? I’ll send you the location and the door code.”
Ellie straightens up, “Uhh.. can’t do six.. can we do it earlier? Maybe 4..?”
She looks a little nervous about asking, her eyebrows are furrowed and she’s staring into your eyes, anxiously waiting for your response, “Oh.. yeah that’s cool!”
With that, you go your separate ways.
───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────
At your apartment, you prep it for your visitor, shoving your clothes into your laundry hamper, putting out some snacks, straightening up your ‘living room,’ it wasn’t really a living room, given that you lived in a small studio apartment, it was really just a corner of your apartment with a couch, rug, and coffee table. Come on, it was New York and you’re a college student! This is as good as it’ll get for now.
Just as you’re folding a blanket, you hear a thud against the glass door leading out to your balcony. Just as you’re about to take a step towards it to inspect it.. ding dong! You jump a bit, forgetting all about the peculiar sound and making your way towards your front door. Peaking through the peephole, you see Ellie, she’s awkwardly rubbing the back of her neck, camera bag resting on her shoulder and her bangs messily in her face.
“Hey,” you smile and open the door to let her in, “Uh, make yourself at home.”
“T-thanks,” she nods, taking off her shoes and putting her bag down, “Nice place you got.. very, uh, homey. Oh, you a fan of Spider-man?” She nods at the Spider-Man poster on your wall and the Spider-Man t-shirt you’re wearing.
You giggle at her attempt at making small talk, “Thanks, can I get you anything? Water.. soda.. tea..? And, yeah, I know it’s kinda ‘fan girly’ of me but he’s just so fuckin’ cool, y’know? ”
“I’ll take a water,” she sits down on your couch, she looks really tired, not sleepy tired but she looks like she just fought Captain America.
“Shall we get started,” you place the glass in front of her and sit on the floor, the fluffy rug underneath aiding as a cushion, she nods and the two of you get to work.
The first few tutoring sessions went just like that, they were stiff and awkward but eventually, you realized that Ellis isn’t just a nerd that occasionally takes your pictures, she’s also really funny and is actually a really good teacher, she’s patient but doesn’t treat you like you’re dumb. She talks you through the formulas and makes sure you understand each chapter by quizzing you. She’s actually not awkward about this after all, she seems confident when she’s talking about cells. Watching her is nice, her eyes light up when she gets to a chapter that she is obviously interested in and a small smile falters on her lips. You never really realized it before but not only is she really smart, she’s also REALLY hot. Like, the way her veiny arms l flex when she reaches over for her glass of water, the veins flexing under her tattoo, the way she gazes at you through her eyelashes, and her smirk when she gently teases you for getting a problem wrong.
On one particular tutoring session, the rain pattered heavy against the thin glass on your balcony doors, creating a serene, almost cozy atmosphere. You and Ellie were sitting close together on the floor, a thick textbook resting on the coffee table in front of you, you could feel her breath against your neck and her voice was deep and raspy, almost like she’d been out in the rain earlier, and—
“Hey, you with me?” Ellie waves a hand in front of your face, “Hm, maybe we should stop here for now, yeah? It’s getting la— shit, it’s 7?!”
Your expression fell at the thought of her leaving, so you thought ‘fuck it’ as you decided to try and get her to ‘sleep over.’
Ellie scrambled to get on her feet, grabbing her bag and putting her battered converse on, “Oh, you’re leaving? But it’s pouring out there, wanna spend the night?” You graze her arm with your hand, you know it’s wrong to wanna sleep with your TA and your coworker but.. it had been so long since you got any.. and shit, how could you stop yourself now? You could feel her lean muscles underneath her baggy jacket.. you had no idea she even worked out.
Ellie’s eyes flicker to your hand, almost like she was considering it, “S-sorry.. I really gotta go, see ya Friday, yeah?”
And before you could say anything else to try and convince her to stay, she was out the door and you could hear her footsteps echoing down the stairwell.
───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────
“The nerve that girl has!” You throw your hands up, “She didn’t even consider it.. I mean, look at me! An up and coming model offers you the night of her life, you say yes!”
Your friends nod in agreement, “I just don—.” Just as you’re about to make another comment, you see Ellie come into the lecture hall, a band-aid on her eyebrow, ouch. What in the world could have happened between 7 p.m. and this morning?
Your friends turn to see what’s got your tongue, then one of them speaks up, “Haven’t you heard? She is always getting weird scratches.. a guy in my last class said that she tends to get in a lot of fights, crazy, right?”
Ellie gets into fights? You scoff at the idea, no way, she’s the most gentle person you know, you can barely feel her touch when she adjusts your hair during shoots, besides she’s way too awkward, you can imagine her trying to talk herself out of a beating, no way. Right?
───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────
During that night’s tutoring session, you ask her about the bandaid, “Oh,” her hand darts to her forehead, “This? I, uh, got it when I fell off my skateboard..”
Convincing enough, right? But the tone in which she said it betrayed her statement, damn, she was a shitty liar.
“Hm,” you hum, still not completely convinced.
Ellie’s eyes rest on yours for a moment before going back to this week’s chapter. Usually, you could focus pretty well but right now all you wanted was to ask her more about the cut, right as you’re about to bug her again, she interrupts you with a question of her own. “Hey, uh, are you booked for that shoot on Sunday?”
You can tell she’s trying her best to act as nonchalant as possible but the way she’s nervously tapping her pencil against the textbook, the way her teeth gently bite her soft pink lips, and the way her eyes look like a deer caught in headlights betray her rather calm tone.
“Yeah, didn’t Regina tell you? She booked me a few weeks ago, something about how they want a ‘fresh young face’ or whatever,” you on the other hand, have mastered the art of being nonchalant, your voice calm and your eyes never leaving the paper of your textbook.
“R-really?” Ellie looks like a puppy who’s owner just shook a bag of treats before forgetting she’s supposed to be feign the whole ‘mysterious loner’ shtick, “I mean, uh, cool, cool. I’m gonna be there too, so, uh.. yeah.”
“Mhm,” the rest of the night carries on like nothing happened, Ellie continues teaching and you continue ‘listening,’ which was a little hard because your eyes kept drifting to her eyebrows again.
There’s something about her that you just don’t get.. if those rumours are true, which you highly doubt because look at her, she’s smiling while talking about RNA
be so for real right now, there’s no way BUT if it is true, why is she so gentle? Sure, she’s clumsy but her personality, she’s not hostile, hell, she blushes whenever you graze her hand. You know how the rumour mill works and it doesn’t just churn out baseless rumours, most have some kind of truth to them, so, how did someone make one about Ellie being so violent, you wonder.
“Uh, Y/n?” Ellie’s eyes move towards the balcony doors, “Can you, uh, please stop staring? You’re making me nervous..”
Your face erupts in a blush, the sweet red colour creeping up your neck, coating your ears, and finally, sweeping over your face, “S-sorry, just spaced out.. haven’t been getting much sleep, you know?”
Ellie nods, “Yeah.. I get it.. neighbours arguing a lot ‘nd stuff, right?”
You nod before realizing, “I never told you that.”
Ellie lets out a forced chuckle, “Uh, you did! Well, you didn’t tell me directly, just heard you say it
God, please believe me, I’m not stalking you, I just heard you say in passing, I swe—. Um. I should go, it’s getting late..”
“Huh, it’s only 6..?” You stand up with her, hoping she doesn’t leave so soon.
“Sorry, but I really should—?”
You grab onto her bulky jacket, tugging on the sleeve a bit, causing it to slip down her shoulder a bit and reveal her shirt underneath, huh, it looked like

“Hey,” she blurts out and straightens out her jacket, “Wh—?”
“Oh my god, is that a spider-man tshirt?” You jump up, a smile creeping onto your face.
Ellie is washed with relief, “Uh, yeah! Gotta love the, uh, the guy, right?”
Nodding you say, “Totally! You should’ve said something sooner, I’m like his biggest fan, I even have an, allegedly, signed poster of him!”
Ellie’s ears burn bright, “R-really? Can I see it?”
You scramble to your room and pull out a small signed flyer, “See?”
Ellie gently holds it then she snorts and mutters, “Yeah, that’s not real.”
Your expression falters, “Wh-what? As if you’d know,” you pull it from her grip, your pride hurt and internally kicking yourself for spending so much on what could be a damn knock off.
“Oh, I think I’d know a thing or two about ‘Spider-Man’,” she chuckles.
“What does that mean,” you shoot her a glare.
“Oh, nothing.. I just, uh, met him” Ellie is scrambling for any way to cover up her loud mouth.
“No way, really?!” You jump up.
“Y-yeah, a few times actually.. back in my first year of college, he let me take some pictures of him a few times for the paper.”
You squeal and begin to bombard her with questions, “What was he like? Is he tall? How does he sound? Wh—?”
Ellie is patient with you and answers all of your questions, stretching she takes a look at the clock and jumps up, “Fuck, I really should get going, it’s rainy and the parade is tomorrow and that means more cr —.”
“More, what?”
“Uh, more cramped subways!” (Ellie is internally patting herself on the back for coming up with a word that begins with ‘cr’ instead of saying criminals.)
“Oh, alright.. see ya.”
Ellie is out the door quicker than you could say ‘your friendly neighborhood spider-man.’
───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────
It’s the day of the parade and everyone’s spirits are high. Today, everyone is celebrating the election of the new city mayor. There will be a parade, drone show, and a market. Even you’re excited. You and your friends are making your way through the crowded streets when you bump into Abby, your ex. She must be here for her family, Abby’s family was widely renowned. Her dad isn’t just a highly esteemed surgeon, he’s also CEO of Oscorp and has very close ties to the city officials. You don’t really want any drama, so you pass by without giving as much as a nod.
“Hey, Y/n,” you hear through the crowds, a groan leaving your lips before looking up and meeting green eyes instead of blue ones.
“Ellie! What’re you doing here? I thought you would hate this kinda stuff.’
She holds up her camera, “Just takin’ photos, the Daily Bugle needs some front page stuff and they assigned it to me.”
“Oh, very cool,” you smile, “S—,” Just as you’re about to ask her if she wants to check out the stands with you, you feel a hand grip your shoulder, it’s Abby, fuck.
“Hey, Y/n, long time, huh? Wanna come see my dad, he’s been asking about you, oh, so has Manny.” Before you could reject her, Ellie is already walking away and Abby is steering you to the city hall building.
Abby drones on and on about her latest lacrosse victories and about her latest conquests, you just nod and try to space out. Normally, you wouldn’t go with her but you so desperately wanted to meet with her father. Being in premed meant you need as many connections as possible, so you were hoping Mr. Anderson could give you some pointers.
As the two of you round a corner you feel a rumble then hear a boom.
“What the fuck was that,” Abby stops and runs up the stairs, your feet are frozen in place but you quickly pull them from their cemented state and chase after her, “Abby, stop! It’s too dang—!”
Then came the second boom and suddenly, you felt the ground beneath you crumbling, fuck, this is it, isn’t it? Just as you’re about to accept your fate, you feel hands grip your waist and you’re flying..?
Through the dust, you can make out a red and blue silhouette. “I-it’s you!’
The masked figure looks at you, “Yeah.. i-it’s me.”
Uh, Spider-Man is a lot more awkward than you thought..

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The crush of people at the underground subway should have felt suffocating, bleak even. Yet, your heart was filled with excitement.
With your friend, Sam, by your side, you were moving towards your destiny. Gatford College. SAT’s through the roof-sky high tuition-home to cutting edge research-Gatford. Yes, slogging throughout your high school to achieve near perfect scores to qualify for a scholarship here had been worth it.
“Just how many pens have you brought with you, geez.” Sam, rifling through your bag for your promised treat of homemade cookies, laughed at your over-preparedness.
You laughed. “Hey, that’s all I could do last night. No way I could find any sleep with all this excitement.”
Talking over the crunch of the cookies, the two of you occupied a cramped corner of the train.
As the train moved towards your deboarding station, Sam took her long hair out of the ponytail that it was seen, fluffing it up and pulling out a sheer lipgloss. Replying to your amused look, she said, “You promised our college life would be full of fun and romance if I worked hard on the SAT’s. Can’t blame a girl for wanting to look the part.”
Sam, unlike you, came from an upper middle class family, with a well earning father and a mother who could afford to stay at home. Unlike you, who could only afford to see the face of Gatford thanks to your scholarship, Sam had won a partial scholarship. The two of you had motivated each other with promises of parties, dates and all that came with being a young adult right out of school. Now that you were here, and together, you would join Sam in her fun loving and extroverted nature.
Agreeing, you took hold of the pink gloss stick in her hands and swiped them across your nude color coated lips.
—---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Stepping into the marble foyer, you noted the silence of the hallways. The expensive kind of silence. This was no no-name college.
White marble floor gleamed in your vision as your plain ballet flats stood in its contrast. Legacy kids in designer jackets breezed past you and Sam, looking sure and confident of the way, as they surely were of their way in the world.
The elegant receptionist had sent the two of you with directions to reach the auditorium in the main building to attend the orientation.
Reaching the ornate gates, you were greeted by a line of upperclassmen who were smiling at and introducing themselves to the newbies, with gleaming student council badges pinned to their lapels.
Finding yourself shaking hands with a petite, blonde girl decked out in a sleek black powersuit, you were happy to see that, unlike the intimidating first impression, the people of this college could be welcoming.
“Hello, I’m Nina! We are so happy to welcome you to Gatford. Please take the seats in the hall, the orientation is about to begin. Enjoy your first day.” Nina spoke enthusiastically and ushered you inside.
Taking your seats, you smiled at Sam. This wasn’t half bad. No, not at all.
—---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh this was very bad.
By the time classes ended, you could barely keep your eyes open. Combined with barely getting any sleep last night, the overly filled class schedule left you feeling tired down to your bones. And you were scared. The professors seemed no-nonsense, strict and the coursework looked endless from your perspective. And to think that this was only the first day. Sigh.
“Are you seriously planning to go the library right now, girl?” Sam deadpanned. “It is just the first day. Let’s go tour the campus a bit. Besides, you don’t honestly believe that all these kids would get by in here if the coursework was so demanding, right?”
Technically, she had a point. There were bound to be hard-workers born into every tax bracket but you couldn’t imagine your classmates struggling to fill up the library seats on the first day.
You could live a little. You grinned at your best friend, “Let’s go.”
Stepping outside, the orange sky outlined your periphery as manicured lawns and vine covered gazebos filled your vision. Groups of students took up the space, chatting after a long day. Many of them held steaming cups of coffee.
As you and Sam moved towards the recreational area of the campus to grab a cuppa, you opted to go into one of the more modest looking coffee shops. Surely, coffee places with names you couldn’t even pronounce couldn’t be too good on your student budget.
Before moving inside, you spied a poster stating, ‘Barista Needed!’. Well, you could make a mean latte and a few extra bucks close to campus could be good for you.
Collecting your paper cups, you left the shop feeling satisfied with your decision to apply for the vacancy.
Sam chattered about her new puppy, with you cooing over his pictures and promising to visit to play with the little fluff ball.
“-and I kept on trying to teach him to- hey, what’s up with the crowd?” She wiggled her eyebrows towards the crowd forming near the parking area.
You joined the crowd of quiet onlookers and looked at the confusing scene.
A boy, probably a freshman like you, stood with slouched shoulders, an expression of discomfort evident from his rapidly moving eyes and downturned face.
You heard the laughter before you saw them. Not the friendly kind. It was sharp. Mean. The kind that made your skin crawl. Around the corner of the arts building, a group had gathered. Five boys in expensive sneakers and even more expensive egos.
“C’mon, freshie. Rank the girls in your class. Who’s top-tier?”
“W-what?” the boy stammered.
“Top five girls in your class,” one of them said, grinning. “Don’t be shy. It’s tradition.”
The boy blinked rapidly. “I-I don’t know-”
“Don’t play dumb,” another chimed in. “It’s tradition. Call it
 a rite of passage.”
Sam slowed beside you. “Are you seeing this? Are they seriously making him rate girls?”
“Looks like it,” you murmured, unease pooling in your gut. “God, that’s messed up.”
A ripple of laughter followed. You felt your stomach twist.
And then you saw him.
Sitting on the hood of the shiny black Mercedes parked behind them, legs crossed, uncaring of the dirt on his shoes’ soles dirtying the swanky car’s polish, phone in hand, a man sat, barely glancing up. He didn’t say a word, didn’t move, but the tension swirled around him like gravity. The others barked and jeered but they kept stealing glances at him, like checking if their king was pleased.
He looked amused. Not laughing. Just
entertained. Detached. He didn’t join the mockery. He didn’t have to. The others looked to him like dogs waiting for a nod. He gave nothing, just watched. Like this was beneath him but still his.
“Don’t stare,” someone muttered behind you.
You startled. Nina had stepped up beside you. She didn’t look at you, just kept watching the scene with a blank face. Compared to her cheerful demeanor from this morning, she looked timid, almost like she was withdrawing into herself. Similar was the case with everyone else in the crowd. Quiet, almost as if they were hypnotised.
“That’s Kim Taehyung,” she added. “You’re new, right?”
You nodded slowly.
“Then here’s a tip. Don't look twice. Don’t talk loud around him. And never, ever think you’re brave enough to play moral police.”
“What are they even doing?” you asked, voice low.
The senior gave a humorless smile. “Initiation. Harmless, compared to how bad it gets.”
“And no one reports them?”
She turned to you now, one brow raised. “To who, exactly? The dean? His dad funds half the board. You think rules apply to people like him?”
“They’re humiliating that kid,” Sam said through gritted teeth.
Nina gave her a look  not unkind, but tired. “You want to be a hero, go ahead. But just know, once he notices you, he doesn’t forget.”
Suddenly, the man in question looked up, his gaze clashing with yours, as if he could hear what was being said about him.
Kim Taehyung’s gaze locked with yours across the courtyard. His dark eyes were unreadable. They were bottomless, almost. No anger, no joy. Just stillness. But something in them made your chest seize. Not because he looked cruel. Because he looked like someone who didn’t care if he was.
Cold. Flat. Watchful. The kind of gaze you’d expect from a predator when it’s not hunting, just observing lazily.
Your mouth went dry. Your skin prickled with the sudden, intense awareness of danger.
You looked away fast. Too fast. Like prey, with your legs carrying you forward before you even realized it.
“Hey-” Sam’s voice called from behind.
But you couldn’t stay there. Not with that gaze still burning between your shoulder blades.
“We should leave,” you mumbled, already turning.
Sam stayed a beat longer before following. “You know what creeps me out?” she said as you walked away. “He didn’t say a word. And yet, everyone else acted like he did.”
You didn’t reply.
Because the worst part wasn’t the silence.
It was the power in it.
Behind you, laughter echoed.
And Taehyung never said a word.

The Biology Tutor
Independent Study 02: Creative Writing
Series masterlist
Prev: Lesson 1: Female anatomy Lesson 2: Male anatomy Extra Credits 01: Communication skills Extra Credits 02: French Independent Study 01: Art
Next: Lesson 3: Human Reproduction
Pairing: virgin!Eddie Munson x fem!tutor!reader
Series summary: Eddie’s failing Biology class, so you decide to offer two different styles of tuition, textbook-based and *ahem* practical.
Chapter summary: You reflect on your unexpected lunchtime study session.
WC: ~2.2k
C/W: 18+, SMUT, MDNI!! Lots of fantasies and intimate musings
Gracious and copious thanks to @the-unforgivenn for numerous rereads and talking me off the word soup precipice 😉
My masterlist
Thoughts of Eddie have been plaguing you all afternoon. You might as well have skipped classes for all the good your attendance did. You could barely concentrate on what any of your teachers were droning on about, your mind much preferring to conjure all kinds of salacious Eddie-related images.
Once at home you grab yourself a drink, throw your backpack down onto your bed and kick off your shoes, trying to figure out quite how to get that boy out of your head. Might journaling help?
Retrieving your notebook from your nightstand and your favourite pink pen, you flop down onto your front and begin to write.
Initially, you just want to reflect on your day and your unexpected ‘private time’ with Eddie. So you start to make some notes about how well the tutoring part went, how well he did, and yeah, okay, how goddamn cute he looked whenever he got a question right. You ponder why that felt so rewarding. Do you simply like helping people learn? Or is it more because you like being the reason that Eddie smiles?
You write a little about how sweet he was, and his obvious nerves when you first suggested you might kiss. How chaste, almost wholesome, it all started out.
You add more detail, like how his lips felt as they connected with yours, and how it surprised you in the best possible way when he started to kiss you back. You remember how wet and messy everything was. How fucking hot. You scribble honestly about how much you enjoyed kissing him, how much you think he enjoyed kissing you, and how much you want to do it again. And you acknowledge that although it seems peculiar after everything you’ve already done, somehow, what you did today felt so much more
 intimate.
You write almost an entire page about how strong but gentle his tongue was, how it felt as it slid into your mouth and around your own. How he started off slow, tentative, but then gained confidence. How, without being instructed, he started turning his head and moving his tongue experimentally, licking and sucking. And, to your delight, how he was getting it right so goddamn much of the time.
You add a little about what else you’d fantasised about Eddie doing with that tongue, but stop yourself before you go too far.
Okay, maybe just another couple of lines

You write about how he surprised you when one one of his hands gripped the back of your neck and his other had pulled you closer. How that made you appreciate what latent strength might be stored in those wiry muscles. And how you’d wondered about whether it would feel warm if it cupped your face, and how you know the answer now. When he’d gently held the back of your head he was definitely warm, hot even, the heat of him searing into your memories and onto the page. Now, in your notebook, you muse what it would be like for him to touch you like that again, to cup your cheeks, look deep into your eyes. Would you want that? The frenzy with which you're writing suggests that yes, you might.
You mull over what else you’d thought about, like what it would be like to hold his hand. You ponder whether your palms would fit together nicely, and whether you’d be well matched, size-wise. Or would his be larger, swamping you, encompassing you. You think about his hot palm and thick fingers enveloping yours, your sensitive skin so very close. What would it be like to go out in public like this, watching everyone stare as they put the pieces together? Surprisingly, the thought doesn’t freak you out as much as it previously might have.
You note down how he’d whimpered and moaned, and how that made you think about all the ways you want to try to draw more of those beautiful sounds out of him.
You describe how strong and defined the muscles of his back felt. And the size of the bulge in his pants that he was sporting when you pulled away. And add exactly how that made you feel, just to, you know, get it out of your head

As you spill your innermost thoughts onto the page, you recall how you’d considered the texture of his calloused skin. But this time you allow your imagination free reign as you conjure Eddie’s strong, large hands and the rough feeling of his fingers as he runs them over your thighs, your back, your throat. You write about how much you want to feel them on your breasts, over your ass, in your cunt. How you want him to explore every inch of you, with both your guidance and his experimentation. You want to continue to teach him, of course, but you also want both of you to discover things together.
Then, you write down that question he asked:
“So, uh, where do you want me?”
You describe the heat you’d felt, what it made you want to do, and how you’d vividly imagined taking Eddie in the study room. How much you’d wanted to perch him against the study room table and climb on top of him.
You describe how you’d pictured him, braced against the edge of the table. Shirt off, no pants, boxers discarded somewhere across the room. You wonder how he might look. Would his abs be tensed? Would his hip lines be prominent? How much detail of his tattoos would you be able to make out?
Would he be instantly hard? Or would you be treated to the sight of his cock engorging as you watched, rising to full attention simply from your presence and the heat of your gaze? You imagine observing his pink head filling and swelling, maybe even leaking a little precum that would glisten under the fluorescent lights.
How would he look at you with those deep chocolate eyes? Would he be unsure, timid, nervous? Or would there be a hot hunger behind them, a primal lust that he wants only you to satisfy?
You’d be naked, but would you feel nervous and fold at his gaze, covering yourself and uncomfortable under his scrutiny? Or would you saunter towards him confidently, maybe with a finger at your lips, swaying your hips? Forcing him to wait as your body drifts agonisingly slowly closer and closer.
He might stutter over his words as you moved, babbling nonsense, filled with that delicious combination of fear and want that you find so alluring. Or he could be confident, beckoning you to him, spilling praises and pet names and whispers of adoration.
Would he be too scared to touch you, unsure and not knowing what to do with his hands? Or would he reach out for you and grab at your arm, your hip, your waist, any part of you he could reach, pulling you to him?
How would he smell after a day of physical activity, or even post PT? The aroma of weed, his cologne, that vanilla chapstick that you’re sure he must’ve stolen from someone? Musky, sweaty, masculine? You imagine what it would be like to lick the salt from the sensitive skin of his collarbones and neck, and humming as his heady male taste floods your senses. Would he whimper softly at this, or groan with satisfaction?
You’d definitely kiss him, feeling those soft, plump lips against yours all over again, and slide your tongue into his mouth and sigh as you feel his start to move against yours. Would his confidence soar as you make those pretty noises again, encouraging him to explore further, deeper, harder?
Would you take the lead and lay him down onto the cool tabletop, and spill soothing words as you clamber up over him, gliding your soaking folds over him, drenching him with your abundant arousal? Or would he lie back, pulling you down with him, pressing your chest to his and letting you know just how hard he’s going to fuck you?
You might grasp his thick length, make him whine as you angle his cock at your hole and sink slowly down the length of him, his hands scrabbling to find purchase on the table, whimpering as you take him fully inside you. Or he could hum with approval, telling you how good you are for him, calling you his Princess, gripping your hips with his big hands as he manoeuvres you over his swollen cock, sliding into you from beneath.
You could take it slow and steady, noticing every pull and drag of his impressive member, allowing him to feel every part of your wet heat as you move atop him. Or you could use him, quickly bouncing, his ample girth stretching you as you pivot your hips for your own pleasure, slamming his tip exactly where you need it.
His hands might be soft and loving, gently touching your face and reverently running over your hair as he mumbles sweet things about how beautiful you are, how fucking lucky he is to have you like this. Or he might grip the back of your neck, tangle his fist into your hair, perhaps even hold one thick thumb across your throat, and gruffly huff hot breaths full of obscenities into your ear as he pumps himself in and out of you.
Would he let you take what you want, be your pliant and willing fucktoy? Or would he plant his feet on the table and thrust himself up into you, chasing for your release as much as his own?
Would you angle yourself against his pelvis, feeling the friction of his glossy thatch of dark hair against your clit as you roll and circle? Or might you suck your fingers and move them between you, maybe even push them into his mouth first, before you slide them down, down, between your heaving bodies to your most sensitive bud, drawing circles and lines, your head dropping back as Eddie watches, aghast, feeling you clench around hi- h- h-
Your empty pen scratches the paper, threatening to tear through the delicate pages. Dammit! You fling it aside, and quickly grab another at random. Red this time, the colour of passion. Appropriate

-around his throbbing length.
Working with more intent, would Eddie watch, mouth agape, practically drooling? Or would he take your lead, replacing your fingers with his own, experimentally touching, circling, pressing? Watching your face contort as his technique improves, his gorgeous dimples popping as he gets it right, both of you nearing your peaks.
Maybe he’d even grab you and lift you from him, bend you over the table and enter you roughly from behind, feral grunts emanating from his chest. And you imagine you’d love every second, even the feel of the edge of the desk digging into the flesh of your thighs.
Whichever position you were in, he’d make you cum, you’re certain of that. But would you be first, spasming around him as he groans with approval? Would he then chase his own release, pummelling your sensitive core and making galaxies erupt behind your eyelids?
Perhaps you’d cum together, Eddie pushing himself impossibly deeper, his intense thrusts repeatedly pushing his fat tip against your special spot, your rippling walls milking him as his hot spend fills you up fuller than you’d ever thought possible. Would he stay inside you, panting, holding you close as he softens and your combined breaths become steady?
You wonder how he’d behave afterwards. Would he help you dress, stroke your hair? Would he dash off to find something to clean you up with? Would he sit with you as you both recover, humming as you cuddle, murmuring sweet, romantic things to each other as his seed leaks out of you onto the hard chairs of the study room?
Would he gently lift your chin, look deep into your eyes, and tell you that he lo—
Panting, sweating and unsure where most of this, let alone that last part, came from, you discard your pen with a clatter and slam your notebook shut, not for the first time wondering whether it’s possible to retrofit a padlock to it just in case anyone you live with decides to get curious.
You’re definitely not feeling calmer. This absolutely hasn’t worked. At all. In fact, you’re more frustrated now than you were before you began writing.
Running a hand slowly over your face, your fingertips pause at your lips, skimming lightly over them. You close your eyes and remember all over again how Eddie’s plush, pink, pillowy lips felt against them just hours ago.
Gently, you open your jaw a little, and run your index and middle fingers over your teeth and across your tongue. Enjoying the sensation, you can’t help but wonder how Eddie’s rough, talented musician’s fingers would feel doing exactly this.
Turning over and flopping back on your pillows, your other hand runs across your belly and over the top of one thigh, and you pause your thumb at the crease of your hip, just able to feel the lacy edge of your panty elastic beneath your clothes.
You glance towards your bedside table, knowing exactly what’s inside that closed drawer. And you seriously contemplate trying a very different form of reflection this evening

Thanks so much for reading! 💗
I hope you enjoyed seeing what reader got up to whilst Eddie was in the shower 😉

A culture post for the girlie pops (and non-girlie pops) looking to write Pavitr Prabhakar accurately.
(P.s- I’m Indian and live in India and have been to Mumbai multiple times so shhh- )
(P.s.s- all i know about the spider verse comes from the movies so I’ll be focusing more on the Indian aspect. )
So in honour of atsv coming on Netflix-
FOOD- Pavitr live in Mumbai (mumbattan) so he probability of him eating “butter chicken or naan” (traditionally north Indian dishes) on a daily basis is almost nonexistent. (This is not to say he won’t have them occasionally but much of what people think is indian food comes from stereotypical North Indian food, pavitr lives in South Indian)
Popular food of Mumbai includes- vada pav(street food), panipuri(another street food), pav bhaji (not a street food), bhelpuri and sevpuri( you guessed it a street food) and for more every-day food- we have dal-roti or dal-chawal etc
(Edit: I forgot to mention this but, a lot of people are vegetarian either by choice or by religion and don’t eat meat (eating beef is HEAVILY and i mean heavily frowned upon.)
Tumblr media
SCHOOL- In india we don’t have middle school or high school, we have grades.
We also have public and private schools (and unlike the USA, private school is not for the uber rich, middle-class families typically send their kids to private school and government(or public) schools are basically free or really cheap). Thus, Pavitr probably studies at a private school.
Keeping that in mind, Students from grade 1-12 study in one building and students actually sit in the same class while the teachers move from class to class. There is also something called school boards but for all our sakes, he studies in a school that follows CBSE guidelines. Now according to google, he’s around 15-16 so he’s in 10th or 11th depending on the school he goes to.
We have these really important exams called the “board exams” ( we just call them ‘boards’) And they are given twice by the students once in the 10th grade and once in the 12th grade and these are like really really important, kinda think of them as psats or sats(lmk if anyone wants to know more about boards) and if he’s in 10th he’ll be giving the boards in May.
After which he’ll pick a stream (medical, non-medical, commerce or failure) that he’s gonna study in 11th. There is a lot of emphasis on studies in India ( if you get good marks in 10th it’s considered that you’re good or ‘set’ for life but thats kinda bs) and it’s really competitive, students often go to tuition (think of them as an after-school school) for hours after school. Maths and science tuitions are the most common.
Uniforms (a half-sleeve shirt with a tie and pants or knee length shorts for guys) are also mandatory and are strictly regulated along with hair and nails. (Two braid or plaits for girls with below the shoulder hair and typically short hair for guys that have to be oiled) so im assuming that he gets called out a lotttttt about his hair, and teachers are constantly on his ass about cutting it which I think is funny af. The school timings are typically from 8-3 and tuitions are typically from 4-7.
It would also be super-cute if his aunt massaged his hair with oil (it’s considered an act of service and something people do to show their love)
10th grade especially is really really stressful in india and if home-boy cries himself to sleep every night I wouldn’t be surprised. So make him supppeeerrrr strrreeeessssed.
Name- Pavitr “Prabhakar” is a Hindu( a religion of sorts) name.
It’s derived from the Sanskrit word “prabhākara” which means “light maker” (from prabhā 'light' + -kara 'causing'), an epithet of the sun. So to those saying he’s a sunshine boy, his surname means light maker (do with that what you will).
Now, for his first name “Pavitr” however there is no exact meaning as, the name is most probably derived from Pavit ; maybe Pavitra(a typical girl’s name) if you’re pushing it. The meaning of Pavit is Love or A lovely and pious individual.
Edit: apparently pavitr does have it’s own meaning and it means pure
So his name roughly translates to lovely (edit: pure) sunshine boy.
Transport- Now i know that he’s spider-man but when he’s not, the most common way to travel in Mumbai is by an automobile (also called auto or auto-riksha).
Tumblr media
One of these things ^^ and these ‘go by the meter’ (you basically pay for the distance you have covered and a meter calculates this.) these things are everywhere. You call for one of these by raising your hand and an auto stops in front of you and you ask if they will take you to the place you wanna go to (“bhaiya, _____ lekar chalo ge?”)
There can only be 3 people max on one auto (not including children) as per local government policies.
Another common way to travel is by the subway or local trains. ( and contrary to popular beliefs they are not filled to the brim with people). Cars are not that common as there is a lot of traffic. Like a lot.
Language- Most indians speak at least 2-3 languages- English, Hindi and a local language or two. Since they’re in Mumbai Pavitr probably speaks Marathi. Some people also know Sanskrit (but that’s not that common nowadays).
(Edit: People typically don’t speak in just one language, they typically use a mix of atleast two or three languages which change according to the region they are in. For example- English and hindi is the most common but some may mix in their regional language or dialect)
Also spider in hindi is makri (makdhi?) so i think it would be super funny if people called him makri (makdhi?) man.
People in India also curse a lot (not in English though) (though not in front of parents obviously) and the more people get angry the stronger accent the becomes.
Housing- housing in Mumbai is super expensive, and most people live in flats or apartments rather than houses, Mumbai is considered to be one of the most expensive places to own a home in the world just because of the sheer number of people there.
All flats in mumbai have air- conditioning units in them because it. is. so. humid and winter lasts for a month or two in comparison.
Culture- Mumbai is kind of regarded as one of the culture hubs of India, a lot of up and coming artists along with famous superstars live in Mumbai. There are a lot of exhibitions, shows and whatnot happening all the time.
Mumbai is also more progressive then the rest of India and pride parades do happen here but there is still a lot of stigma around it
(Edit: PDA in public is almost taboo, doesn’t matter who anyone is—kissing in public might actually land you in jail)
Teens typically wear jeans, shorts and graphic tees rather than kurtas or salwar-kamez (traditional clothing) .
Traditional clothing is typically worn on festivals such as holi( the festival of colour( some people wear white suits and kurtas)) or Mumbai’s most celebrated festival- “Ganesh Chaturti” (which is a religious festival religious festival to honour the Lord Ganesha.
Sports- cricket is the most watched sport in India a lot of kids play it on the streets or in parks and gardens, and its an India vs Pakistan match is an event in which everyone in the family (some even invite friends over) sit together and yell at the tv.
Mumbai is a city in which time stops for no one, and people are super busy. This doesn’t mean that people there are rude in fact they are some of kindest and helpful ppl you’ll ever meet(not including the obligatory rude af asshole that are in every community) especially in a city that never stops.
India is also not a country that lives in rags we used to be called sone ki chidiya (or bird made of gold) before the British Invasion so please for the love of god don’t depict everyone living in slums and poverty. The national currency is rupees and again i cannot stress this enough even though there is poverty in india, that doesn’t mean there isn’t prosperity. India is a developing country so keep that in mind while you write.
Religion and caste - This is a very touchy and sensitive subject in India and you should probably research a lot or stay clear of it in general ( especially the caste system its messed up and just stay clear of it) but Gayatri’s father is Sikh or at least punjabi so I’m assuming she is too. ( if she’s from Punjab or its surrounding area, then she probably speaks punjabi or her father most probably does).
(Edit: there are a lot of different religions in india —almost too many to count— and every single one has their own gods, prayers and rituals so please please please research before you write)
But something all Indian (boys) are taught to do is to touch their elders feet to show/ask for respect (and “ashirwad” I don’t know what this translate too directly in English but think of it as blessings)
Anyways here is a not very brief overview on mumbai and pavitr , let me know if you have any questions or if something isn’t really clear, English isn’t my first language so I apologise for the errors.
Please feel free to ask me anything ill do my best to answer back. : D
if you actually find this long ass post helpful and write a fic or something please tag me i would love to read it.

Soundwave and his casette-care grievances: Poor Mamawave cant get a break!
I swear---society hates working parents, and the older I get, the more I think Megatron was right about society.
Anyways, after some smoldering, I made an exasperated flufffic as to what really made Soundwave become a Decepticon that became a comic. Today is also my birthday, btw...😅
***might make a follow-up pic/comic for this if I get enough love for it***
Tumblr media
Seriously! 3 weeks of trying to set up a babysitter for the 6 days that Im working during the 2 week gap of summer break limbo. I admitted defeat on Tuesday when the backup babysitter, to the backup babysitter, to the backup baby sitter flaked out. The first one, after meeting us, immediately messaged back that she found a "career boosting" gig/job opportunity closer to home (I have no Idea what redflag if any was percieved, but I blame the fluffy dinobird of mine). The second one called in sick hours before the scheduled time. the third one couldn't do the specific days and times I needed, and I have no idea what happened to the fifth... that was the furthest I got. My first choice, a certain well-known app/site that you could probably guess was the most frustrating. $40 for a 1 month sub to post and message made absolutely worthless by their verification system that failed to process my ID, and despite reaching out to support and escalating it, it's been almost 2 weeks and 5 or 6 inquiries but Im unable to contact any of them because of the stupid verification issue. đŸ€ŹđŸ˜€đŸ˜”â€đŸ’« Not to mention, their price ranges seemed to be more than I'd make for the part-time hours that I work at this point...
Any hoo... finished another semester. passed my college classes but tanked my 4.0 because Im stupid, and I hate math and this particular geography class (ahem---teacher)... My account's on hold till I pay my tuition... SO ---Summer break, yall! I'll be working with kiddo in tow and building up on a small art/craft shop with various witchy, whimsey, and probably fandom type things, too.
Today, I planned on sleeping in this morning but instead, spent the first 2 hours of my b-day running around the whole neighborhood after my shit-head of a dog who pried the window open and escaped the yard. That furry asshat chased rabbits, played in the tall grass and mud, caused chaos with other dogs and tricked me, and like 4 other neighbors who tried to help and seemed amused about it all into thinking we had a chance. He ran away with dog cookies, pepperoni, cheese, and dog treat jerky. He kept recharging every time we caught up with him by muddy grass rolling and a little decorative water fountain. He finally gave in when he was too tired to run away anymore and accepted a burger tossed into this nice lady's backyard and coaxed into there. (She was so nice! I think she spent half that time watching and laughing at us from the porch tho.) LOL. All of this while keeping track of my kid whose eager helpfulness creates more chaos and listens as well as the dog does half the time... despite the chaos, errands, adulting and exaughstion today, on the bright side, I may have made a new friend who helped me catch him and made the whole thing more amusing (kudos to their kindness!). Kiddo's bday card and gift they bought me by themself (with dad's money) a little while ago had me almost tearing up at the love and thoughtfulness, and my grumpy dragon husband got me my favorite chocolate dipped kanolis made of heavenly chocolate and angel orgasms. He straightened up the house for me and made dinner--- grilled up some lobster tail that was on sale! Soooo damn goood!!! đŸ„° I'm gonna sleep so hard in this food coma coupled with the scent of my new 'Art of the Root' candles tonight. đŸ«

warnings: a mention of death, loneliness, depression. soundtrack: last christmas, santa baby, let it snow! let it snow! let it snow!
this is part 1.
The day before Christmas 10:15 PM
"Oh, thank you so much, Y/n," your boss said warmly. A few strands fell onto her narrow shoulders, caressing the fabric of her burgundy sweater. She was no more than sixty but with her class she would still beat most of the modern supermodels.
You've been working at Josephine's shop since November with the main goal of earning extra money for your college. You needed it to pay for your college tuition. Before, your financial situation was making you suffer. You no longer had any hope. You were even close to dropping out of college. But then Josephine appeared, looking for an employee for her Christmas store. After a very long period of poverty you could finally afford a nutritious meal during the day.
Your previous boss didn't treat you right. He was behind in paying you money, he didn't respect the fact that you had studies outside of work, and there were times when he was verbally violent towards you.
Josephine was always understanding towards you and took an extremely sensible approach to mental health. She assured you many times that if you felt unwell, she would immediately offer you a break from work for a few days. You tried not to take advantage of her kindness, so at ten o'clock in the morning you diligently fulfilled your duties in the Christmas store.
Today was quite
different. It was Friday evening and instead of enjoying your free time in your small apartment, Josephine asked you to take over the duties until midnight.
"I have so much mess to clean up at home, and tomorrow is the day. If you said no, I would probably have let all my grandchildren down. Last year I promised them I will bake cupcakes for the next Christmas. They were so excited and happy about it
"
You giggled at her adorable confession.
"No problem, I swear," you assured her, but the woman didn't seem fully convinced. "Josephine, I don't mind staying here for a bit longer. It helps me to relieve stress a lot."
Josephine pursed her lips. Then she straightened her slightly hunched back and whispered with a soft smile on her face:
"Your soul is so pure. Your parents must be so proud of you."
At the sound of these words, spoken with surprising lightness, you immediately stiffened.
Parents, a thought crossed your mind.
Right. She couldn't know.
You brushed strands of long hair from your cheek, smiling awkwardly. Josephine started looking chaotically for her purse. Once she found it, she hugged you and squeezed your hands. When you felt her warmth in your hands, you froze. No one has ever given you as much love as Josephine did in that moment.
"Thank you so much, Y/n, but I really have to go. I'll make it up to you!" She turned and started towards the exit. When the door opened, frosty night air rushed in. An old guy walked in, passing your boss, but you didn't pay attention to him. Instead, you looked in Josephine's green eyes for the last time. She lowered her voice a bit, continuing. "Merry Christmas, Y/n."
Oh, no one in this world knew how much you hated those words. You swallowed loudly, pushing away the feeling of sadness with all your strength. The sight of the smile on the woman's face made you feel a knot in your stomach.
"Merry Christmas, Josephine," you replied, trying to reciprocate this warm gesture. After a moment, you realized that you had said it to yourself. Josephine was already gone. Now in the room, there was only you and an older customer, probably looking around for gifts for his loved ones.
11:55 PM
"Uh, is anybody there?"
You caught yourself falling asleep, but the stranger's nervous and deep voice woke you up.
You looked up from the till and saw an older man standing in front of you. His white beanie and fluffy Christmas sweater definitely caught your attention. You rubbed your eyes and was about to laugh when you realized how thin he was dressed. Okay, maybe he wasn't that old.
It seemed like he had arrived by car, because no one would wear just a sweater in a snowstorm like that. Before you could respond, the man overtook you.
"Okay, okay. I know you're about to close, but listen to me. This case is extremely serious. I drove all over town and, damn it! All Christmas shops are already closed! Can you help me choose the gifts? If you don't help me, I will be.."
You raised an eyebrow, trying your best not to smile. He got stuck in his little speech, but you had no idea why. Instead of continuing, he lost himself in your gaze, completely ignoring the ticking of the clock behind you. His mouth hung open slightly and his eyes which were already almost black seemed to darken as he focused on you. His body went rigid as he searched your eyes. Your heart was pounding in your chest. He was beautiful. You had never thought of a guy as beautiful, and it was strange. It was strange how he seemed to be looking right into your soul. But you didn't mind. No, you didn't care at all.
Or.. maybe a little bit.
In fact, you were the one who jumped back like someone had burned you when you realized it was almost time to close the shop.
"You must leave this store. Now."
"Huh?" he frowned, distracted. It took a while for it to dawn on him. "No! You can't do this to me."
You took the key out of the locker and were in the process of closing the cash register. Shit. Nobody taught you how to do that. That was always Josephine's responsibility and she was the one who always closed the shop. The man looked at you strangely. You decided to pretend you knew what you were doing.
"Do you even work here?" he mocked.
You felt his eyes on you and you clenched your jaw. You glanced up to tell him to piss off, but then your eyes met and the feeling of anger melted away. His eyes were widened slightly as you looked at him curiously. He felt the nerves radiating off of you. You shot him a tight lipped smile and you felt himself smile back. Fuck.
"Shit," you cussed under your breath. "I have to close the shop now."
You were still struggling to close the cash register.
"I'll help you close it," he muttered, still staring at you but you were too tired to even notice. "I've dealt with this before, too."
"And why should I believe you? Maybe you are some kind of thief? "
11:58. Fuck. The time was passing.
"I am not a thief."
"And why should I believe you?" you repeated the question once again.
"Just google my name," he sighed a little tiredly. You blinked your eyes twice, not knowing what he meant. "Let me buy something for my parents and I'll do whatever you want."
When you heard parents, you forgot what he had just told you. You were definitely traumatized or triggered by the word "parents", which was usually noticeable by the sudden change in your behavior.
Your soft breaths echoed through the whole Christmas shop. You lowered your head, completely embarrassing yourself in front of the potential client. It was the second time today. At least you didn't have to explain yourself to Josephine because you were able to mask it before.
"Please, don't hurt him." Y/n cried. "Please, I can't lose him too."
[
]
"Don't take loans on the black market, or you'll end up just like them."
[
]
"I'm completely alone."
[
]
"Shit, are you okay?"
You looked up, grimace on your face as the tall body of a man came into view. He looked concerned as he crouched down before you. His dark eyes searched for any indication you were in pain and when he saw you weren't he held out his hand for you to take.
"I'm okay," you nodded. "What am I doing on the floor?"
"I saw you fall," he said, as he lifted you up. You brushed the dust and dirt from your jeans. "Does it hurt?"
"No," you shook her head, still stunned. "Not much anyways."
"You hit the ground pretty hard," he frowned. "Maybe you should get yourself checked out."
You let out a forced laugh and he raised a brow. "Honestly, I'm good."
He nodded his head, eyes narrowed slightly before sighing. "Let me take care of you. Need a ride?"
God, just a few seconds ago he was using his all strength to buy something for his parents. Unless..
"Show me your pockets."
"What?" he frowned. He tried to find some clue in your eyes. "You think I stole something?"
God, he was atleast a foot taller than you were and you had to crane your neck to look at him.
"Well, seems like I have no choice," he shrugged.
The two of you fell silent, it wasn't awkward but neither knew what to say. He emptied all his pockets, the only things he had were his phone and his bank card.
You wanted to sink into the ground.
This stranger just offered to help you and you thought he was a thief. You tilted your head back, thinking about your next move.
You sighed, knowing exactly what you should do.
"Take it."
You handed him a matching sweaters that you assumed should be for his parents. He sighed in relief.
He was about to take out his card to pay, but you placed your hand on his, trying to making him understand that he doesn't have to pay.
"Just close the till, please." You smiled, feeling a bit better now. "And make your loved ones happy."
"No," he refused quickly "I have to pay for it. There is nothing for free."
It took a while to convince him not to pay. He finally sighed and accepted the two wrapped gifts from you. After he closed the till, he offered you a ride once again.
"Why don't you introduce yourself first?"
You were just leaving the store. It was cold. That was perhaps the understatement of the century. You couldn't remember the last time you had been so cold: the spiteful wind sliced through you like a sharpened blade, leaving a chill that shook you to your very core, and you tightened the thick scarf around you neck, pulling it up over your mouth. You locked the door and both went away, looking for his car, which wasn't parked that far away.
"It's strange that you don't know me."
"Woah, so you're kind of celebrity?" you laughed loudly. "You've got a big ego, man."
You finally reached his car. You didn't even notice the color because it was too dark and the car itself was covered in snow. But it didn't matter.
"Oh, that's very kind of you. Thank you." You said surprised as he opened the car door for you. He gave you a small smile. You took the front passenger seat. When you heard the sound of the trunk being closed, you realized that he must have been putting the gifts in there. You saw him through the snow-covered window. His hair was messy, and his sweater was slightly damp from the snow. His pink cheeks totally stole your heart. He looked like a little child after playing in the snow for several hours
"I'm Y/n," you spoke up as he appeared next to you. He clicked the heat button, smiling to himself. "Normal people usually say their name after my introduction."
"Who said I was normal?" you rolled your eyes before bursting out laughing again.
"You've got a beautiful name," he said, starting the car. "You can just call me Colby."
His eyes found yours and he smiled brightly. Your tiredness melted away instantly and you grinned back at him.
"Colby," you whispered to yourself.
"Hm?" he asked, keeping his eyes on the road. After a moment you could feel the relaxing warmth.
"Uhm," you cleared your throat. "You've got a beautiful name, too."
The corners of your mouth turned upwards. Eventually you stopped having everything under control. It was inexplicable. Every word this boy said aroused some emotion in you. It was strange because you two had just met.
He wanted to know more about you, every single thing. What you like, what you love. A twisted smile formed on his face. As he continued to steal glances at a female, who remained clueless about his mind.
You glanced out the car window, trying to see anything but darkness. Thanks to the car lights, you could have noticed that the streets were empty, not a person in sight that late, not even the stray dog walker or person who decided to go for a late night walk or run. Cars passed by from time to time, but there weren't many of them.
"Not a single soul." Colby sighed, a dreamy smile on his face as he looked down on the road. You nodded, stifling a yawn.
"I bet most of them are washing windows now," you whined, making him chuckle. "Can you take me to the nearest gas station? It's not far from home."
You noticed a slight disappointment on his face, which he quickly masked.
"Yeah, sure."
For a moment there was silence, and you took the opportunity to organize your thoughts. You wondered if you should start a conversation about what happened at the store. You were sure Colby had been thinking about it the whole time, but he didn't want to be too insightful. Even if he asked about your past, you wouldn't know what to answer him. That your parents owed a debt to evil people and died for not paying it off?
You squeezed your eyes shut at the thought. You stared at the moon, trying to calm your thoughts. Then you took a moment to appreciate that wonderful, breathtaking boy next to you. You looked at him in some kind of admiration. He was so beautiful that you were about to cry. You were so close to burying your hand in his messy hair, but it took all of your strength to hold back. A smirk formed on his face as he noticed you staring at his facial features. Instead of laughing at you, he simply changed the topic.
"How do you spend Christmas?"
"Hm?" you muttered, your voice still laced with sleep.
Colby raised his eyebrows at you. "You got a Christmas tree?"
You looked up at him and were torn between telling him the truth or lying.
"I spend Christmas alone. I don't have, I don't have anyone around me with whom I could share this evening. Also, Christmas are overrated. "
"I can help," he said, the words dropping out before he could think about them. Ordinarily, he calculated his sentences, sometimes spending hours or even days thinking about how he would word something, whether it was an email to a friend or a hypothetical debate. But there was no time for that now, the dilemma thrust right into his face with no escape route.
"What?" You swallowed.
"I can help you," he said. "You shouldn't be alone in this time. If you let me, I'd love to invite you to dinner with my p—. " he stopped mid-sentence. You felt like crying. No one in your life has ever shown you as much love as this man. Okay, maybe except Josephine.
"You don't mean that," you said quietly.
"I do," he said, a little more confidence in his voice now. "Let me help. I'll do anything. You shouldn't be alone. You can't be alone. Can I help?"
A faint smile grew over your lips and you nodded, colour rising to your cheeks as your smile grew. "Thank you. But your family-"
"Oh, they will be delighted to meet you."
He seemed nice enough, you thought, and there were surely worse ways to spend the next couple of hours than accepting his helping hand: you could take your mind off the solitude and maybe even make a friend.
But nothing could help you forget your past.
To Be Continued.

Buck couldn’t be blamed for falling in love with his neighbour. He was powerless against the Diaz boys and wanted nothing more than to be swept up in their everything. Buck thought that Eddie felt the same, that their feelings of more than just being platonic best friends was mutual. Buck had been hopeful that Eddie inviting him to his boss’s house to meet his friends and co-workers meant that they were taking a step in the right direction.
A step that now Buck was going to be late for OR Buck gets burned at work and worries that he's blown his shot with Eddie when he runs late to meet his friends.

On the screen, the camera pans down as they introduce the contestants. Mary, on her 3rd day winning streak, is a dowdy teacher type. Center stage is occupied by a graying man with loopy handwriting named Auggie. And all the way to the right is
Evan. Damn. --- One night when Eddie can't sleep, he discovers the hottest Jeopardy contestant of all time (objectively). With the "help" of his team and his fairly good working knowledge of Twitter, they devise a plan to get Evan (from Jeopardy) to slide into Eddie's DMs. It works surprisingly well.

Eddie Diaz (@/eddiediaz): @/firefighterbuck It’s against the rules, anyway. You don’t look like a fighter, though. What situation would we be in that would make you want to tug my hair?

They follow the room numbers down the hallway until the last door on the right. It’s slightly ajar, and when Eddie knocks politely, it opens further.
“Hey,” a cheerful, male voice says. “You guys are early!”
When Eddie spots the source of the voice, he nearly swallows his tongue.
The man is tall, with broad shoulders and huge arms, a sunny smile on his face that looks so genuine Eddie can’t help but smile back. There’s a splash of pink over his one eye, his hair is just the slightest bit curly, and his eyes are startlingly blue. He’s also about 80% legs, and leaning on a cane to walk.
Belatedly, Eddie remembers that he should say something too, not just stare at this guy approaching them.
“Uh,” he starts eloquently. “Sorry. This one was getting impatient at home ~ Newly arrived to LA, Eddie decides to take his son to parent/child cooking classes. The instructor is so much more than he expected

New in Los Angeles, and having recently admitted to himself that he's gay, Eddie figures that hiring a sex worker might be a good way to keep his private life cut off from his job and his son. A way to keep things from becoming too complicated.

“Wait, you need a sitter?” Chimney says. Eddie nods. “Maddie’s brother got back in town a few nights ago, he’s looking for work.”
Eddie frowns. He doesn’t know much about this mysterious brother of Maddie’s – doesn’t even really know much about Maddie, either, aside from being Chimney’s girlfriend – but he’s pretty sure every time he’s been brought up in conversation it’s not been particularly inspiring. “Is this the brother who flunked out of college because he spent all his tuition on a motorcycle?”
Chimney colours a little. “Um. No?”

Eddie doesn't know much about Chris' science teacher, except that he's his son favorite and apparently knows everything there's to know. ( Those were Christopher's words. )
So when he enters the classroom, expecting an old man dressed nicely but a little old-fashioned as the science teacher, his whole life crashes to a halt.
"Evan?" The man who's leaning against the desk, looking at some papers, suddenly startles and looks up at Eddie with wide blue eyes.

Buck is the incredibly kind but incredibly straight bartender at Eddie's local gay bar. Eddie is trying very, very hard not to be pathetically in love with him, and is failing miserably.
“Hey, you’re back,” Buck had said, greeting him with that sun-bright grin, and Eddie had yet again been reminded why he’d started questioning his sexuality.
“Well, I get one night off a week. And tonight I could really use the drink.”
Buck’s brow had furrowed, and he got Eddie his favorite beer without even asking again what it was. “You need to talk about it? Assuming I read you right and you’re the kind of guy who talks to a bartender instead of a therapist.”
Eddie had winced theatrically. “Ouch. That obvious, huh?”
“Hey, man, you’re the one that told me you started coming here on your coworker’s advice. Feels like something you’d get from a therapist, if you had one.”

“Shut up,” Buck grumbles at the dog. “It’s not a crush.”
Buck walks out of the room, out the backdoor, and into the yard, trying to ignore his large and judgmental dog following behind him.
“I don’t want to hear it,” Buck tells him as he gets the hose out to start watering his plants. “Keep it to yourself.”
“Who are you talking to?”
Buck startles and drops the hose, doing a quick 180-degree turn and coming face-to-face with Eddie. He’s clearly standing on something, elbows folded over the top of the fence and chin resting on them as he looks at Buck. His expression looks almost fond and it kind of makes Buck want to both preen and die of embarrassment. -- Or, the one where Buck owns a doggy daycare, has a large dog with an attitude, and is hopelessly in love with his new neighbor.

Eddie Diaz does not need a noisy neighbor on top of all the shit he's trying to work out.
But he does make really good mac and cheese. -- “You know,” And Buck is meeting his eyes now. They’re uncannily blue. Like Kool-Aid or popsicles. “If you want, I could show you what I get up to up there?”
What? WHAT? Eddie feels heat spread from the tips of his ears to his toes. No way had he just gotten propositioned before sunrise in the decrepit hallway of their apartment building. “Um. No.” He backs up until his calves brush the door to 101. “Thank you, really. But no.”

“So let me get this straight,” Hen says, once she’s stopped laughing at him. “Your nerd crush-
“-Evan Buckley,” Eddie miserably interjects.
“Your nerd crush,” Hen repeats, waggling her eyebrows. At the kitchen table beside her, Chimney is grinning like Christmas just came early. “Read your drunk tweet and then sent you animal facts via DM?”
or: Buck's a zoologist. Eddie's pretty sure he's in love.

Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince:
Chapter 1
Tumblr media
Masterlist - Previous - Next
Miss Americana
May 2019:
"And you’re sure you can handle it? I mean working here and college?" Peter Hastings was a nice, middle aged man, looking for a new nanny for his 6 year old son, Gabriel.
"I’ll wake him up at 7:15. Make breakfast and get him ready for school, drop him off at 8:30 and go to my classes. At 3 I’ll pick him up. Help him with his homework. Soccer on Monday and Wednesday. Piano lesson on Tuesday. Prepare dinner. Make him bed ready and then you’ll take over. Monday till Thursday. Fridays I’ll pick him up at 12. We’re going to the park, museum, zoo whatever. Have lunch and I’ll bring him home by 4, where you take over. And if you need a babysitter on the weekends, you’ll call me." Rachel repeated the schedule Mr. Hastings had presented her with, hoping he would hire her.
"Impressive. Well your report looks great, I understand why you’ve got a scholarship for the MCPHS. I’d say you’ve got the job." Mr. Hastings smiled at the girl.
"Thank you, Sir! Really!"
"Gabriel liked you, you have strong ambitions. I think you’re perfect. Now let’s talk money, shall we?" he clapped his hands and Rachel nodded.
With a full scholarship and a well paid job that still gave her enough time for her studies, she could start saving up money to get the hell out of Woburn, after graduating from college with her nursing degree hopefully.
"I know this was not what you applied for, but I’ll ask anyways, if you say no, you’ll still keep your job starting in fall!" her new boss said and she looked up "My current nanny, well she left, family emergency, so I would need someone from now on, during the summer until you’ll take over at the end of August. I know, you just graduated and probably already planned your summer, but I thought I ask anyways. Again, feel free to say no, the job is yours regardless. It’s only one more month of school and then it’s
well a full day job, I’m off for the entire August, but before that I’m loaded with events here and there
"
"I’ll do it." Rachel said immediately, every reason to leave Woburn earlier was a good reason.
"Yeah? You sure? I mean like I said, you don’t have to!" Mr. Hastings said but the girl shook her head.
"No it’s fine. Really. I have nothing planned. And like this I can get used to Boston."
"You can stay here. Our old nanny has her own studio in the backyard. That way you don’t have to drive every morning from Woburn to here."
"Are you sure? It’s no problem for me to drive!"
"With traffic in the morning you’ll be in the car for an hour or longer. That’s ridiculous. Come on I’ll show you the studio. You could even stay there when you start college. Thinking back to my college times? The dorms weren’t the nicest place to stay." he laughed and got up, leading the young girl outside through the kitchen.
"I mean. I haven’t seen my dorm yet
but from what I’ve heard, yeah, not the nicest place to stay indeed."
The studio was clean and modern. A kitchenette, a table with two chairs. Sofa, TV and a bed. A little bathroom. It was definitely more quiet and private than any dorm at her college.
"Are you sure it’s okay?" the girl asked.
"100%. It’s yours if you want it. Free of charge. You just have to keep it clean yourself. And if you want to bring friends over, just give me a little heads up."
Free of charge. The money she would safe. Only paying the tuition fee. The rest of her scholarship could go into her savings as well. She could leave home earlier than planned. It couldn’t get better than this.
"I guess I’m moving in then."
November 2021:
Rachel always dreaded driving home. The rare occasions over the past 2 years where she had driven home were all proof why it was better to stay away. But something in her father’s voice when he asked her if she would come home for his birthday gave her the chills. When she parked her car in the driveway of her rundown childhood home, she felt the pit in her stomach grow. Calming down her nerves she opened up the door, walking inside. The house smelt rancid. A mix of liquor, smoke and bleach.
"Dad?" the girl walked inside the dark living room when suddenly the light got switched on. She flinched looking at the man sitting in the armchair facing her.
"If it’s not Miss Americana fresh off of college." Tony.
"Where’s my dad?" her voice not as strong as she hoped.
"Come." he got up and dragged her outside with him.
"Stop. Tony! Let go of me!" Rachel tried to get away from him.
"Get in the car. You can do it on your own or I’ll make you." his jaw clenched.
The girl got inside. Shaking.
"Where’s my dad?" she repeated.
"Your dad
he pissed off a lot of people
 he was a capo once
 but his drinking? Mamma Mia
he became useless the day your mother died
 fallen from capo to soldato
 and now? A shame really
" he sneered.
"What did he do?" Rachel asked with a shaking voice.
"Oh bella, you know I can’t tell you. Otherwise I’d have to kill you. And I really don’t want to kill such a pretty girl." he laughed and the girl swallowed hard "Just know that he owes a lot of people a lot of money
"
They drove to Winchester and the girl knew immediately where they were going.
"When was the last time you were here? When your mother died?" he asked, although he didn’t sound one bit empathetic "A long time ago
then again, it’s never a good sign if you have to go to Winchester
our family parties are usually held somewhere else
"
The driveway up the hill to the dark manor made Rachel’s insides churn.
"Get out." Tony parked the car and she did as told, following him inside.
"Oh Rachel! Mia bellissima ragazza! Look at you! What a beautiful, beautiful young lady! You should look for a girl like her, Anthony, not the skanks you’re going for." Rosaria Romano pulled Rachel in her arms, before kissing her cheeks "The last time I saw you was before you left for college and now look at you! You’re skinny! Don’t they feed you well at college? All the money they take and then not feeding their students? Che cavolo! You’re staying for dinner! Anthony, tell your father I’m feeding this sweet girl first, before he can talk to her!"
"Mamma! She’s not here to eat!" Tony grabbed the girls arm, but he shrugged away under the cold, hard gaze of his mother. He rolled his eyes, walking away, cursing in Italian.
"Now come, mia ragazza, you can help me with dinner." Rosaria lead her into the kitchen where already a handful of women were cooking away "Here, put that on. We don’t want your beautiful outfit to get stained with pomodori!"
The next hour Rachel cooked together with the ladies, told them about college and how her life was going. She knew all too well that she couldn’t tell them everything. Giving away too much was dangerous, so she lied mostly.
"And what about the boys at college? Someone special there for you?" nonna Viola asked right as Tony came back.
"She’s coming with me now." he grabbed Rachel’s arm, pulling her with him. A muscle ticked at his jaw. His hold on her arm made her whimper in pain.
"Anthony! You hurt her! Stop! Don’t make me swing my mattarello at you!" nonna Viola raised her rolling pin and Anthony let go of the girls arm "There you go, stupido!"
"Come." he glared at the girl who took off the apron, handing it Rosaria.
"When the men have finished whatever their having to talk about now, we’re finishing our conversation, Rachel." she smiled and Rachel nodded.
As she followed Tony down a long, dark hallway the bad feeling she had, since hearing her father’s voice on the phone earlier that day, only intensified.
When they stopped in front of a big oak door Tony pushed Rachel hard against it, caving her in. His nose rubbing down her cheek. His breath reeked of smoke and liquor.
"You won’t like what’s happening next and let me tell you, I understand you. But then again
mhhh look at you." he whispered in her ear, making the girl shudder "My mother wasn’t that wrong, I should go for a girl like you
"
"Anthony?" Don Vito’s cold voice rang out through the door.
"We’re here, papa!" Tony said with a sadistic grin.
"Bring her in then. We have a lot to do."
January 2022:
"Miss Lombardi? Miss Lombardi!" the screeching voice of Professor Cullers made Rachel flinch "Ah great. You are with us again
well, do you know the answer, to Miss Edwards question?"
"I- umm
I don’t. No." the girl looked at her professor "Sorry."
"Maybe stop daydreaming then and start listening to what I’m teaching you."
"Yes, ma’am." she nodded.
The rest of the class Rachel kept writing down everything Professor Cullers said, listening carefully and when the bell rang she was one of the last to leave.
"What’s going on with you?" Stuart asked, waiting at the door for her.
"What do you mean?" they walked side by side to their next course.
"You’re absent. Pretty often. For weeks now
"
"It’s nothing. I’m fine. I promise." Rachel faked a smile and Stuart sighed.
"Ok, cut the crap. What’s going on? Since you left for your father’s birthday a couple of weeks ago, you’re acting strange
what happened at home Rachel?" he looked at her and she took a deep breath, shaking her head.
Stuart was the only friend she made in college, he didn’t talk much, but there was a sense of understanding between the two after she accidentally overheard a conversation between him and a stranger behind the cafeteria one day. Rachel since knew that their backstory was similar and that he broke off all ties to his old life. He would understand her, if she told him what happened. But then again, she knew that she might endanger him if she told him too much.
"How hard was it? Leaving everything behind? Cutting off all ties to your family?" she asked instead and Stuart contemplated his answer for a moment.
"It wasn’t easy, that’s for sure. But I had to do it, so I powered through
"
"But I mean
how did you do it? Where did you get your new identity from? What happened to your old one?" the blonde girl pressed.
"I know a guy who knows a guy
 but it costs a lot
also, starting a new life somewhere new isn’t for free either."
Rachel thought for a second, all the money she saved from her scholarship so far, because she only had to pay for the tuition fee and work materials. All the money she saved from working for Peter, which she barely had touched. It was a nice little sum and should keep her afloat for a while.
"Why are you asking me all this? What happened?" Stuart asked again and Rachel sighed "You can tell me, Rach. Nothing you can say will scare me away
I know how you grew up
 I know how it is
 so come on, tell me."
"I need to leave. Like for real
I always planned on moving to Boston after college, but they won’t let me
I only have time after graduation and then my old life will catch up with me again
I will be pulled into this mess that my life is if I don’t run away." Rachel almost whispered and her friend looked at her wide eyed "They wanted me to leave college immediately but I managed to convince them that a nurse with a degree and all qualifications is more helpful, more useful for them, so they agreed, but as soon as I graduate they will take me back to Woburn or rather Winchester
 I can’t go back, Stuart
"
"And you shouldn’t have to go back, but Rach this is a dangerous thing to do? Killing off your old self, start a new life
it’s going to cost you more than just money
" Stuart said and Rachel nodded.
"I’m willing to do whatever it takes
" the young girl said determined.
"Then I’ll help you. But it won’t be easy
"
"Everything is better than staying here
"
"I need to make a few calls, then we’ll see." Stuart smiled at her.
"Thanks Stu. You’re a good friend." Rachel squeezed his hand.
"I’m currently your only friend
 so that’s that."
"True
"
April 2022:
"Rachel? There’s a letter for you!"
"Thanks, Peter!" the girl took the letter from the counter, while stirring the pasta sauce "Waterman and Krieger? What is that?" she asked when she saw the sender of the letter.
"They’re a law firm. Inheritance law if I’m not mistaken." Peter looked up from his newspaper.
"Inheritance law?" Rachel ripped the envelope open, unfolding the letter. She went silent, staring at the letter, the pasta sauce bubbling.
"Rach? Hey? Rach?" Peter grabbed the sauce pan and shoved it off the stove top "What happened?" he looked at the girl worriedly.
"My- umm
 my mom
 she left me some money
" Rachel said slowly, looking at Peter "They write that mom set up a trust fund for me before her death. I have access to the money when I turn 21. Which is in three months."
"Oh wow
" Peter squeezed her shoulder "Do you need a moment? I can finish up dinner and I’ll send Gabe to get you when it’s ready?"
"Is that okay?" the brunette asked and he nodded "Thank you."
Back in her studio she looked at the letter and saw that there was also another smaller envelope inside. She knew the handwriting immediately.
My sweet Rachel,
when you read this letter it means I am no longer around to gift you with my last treasure.
Every money I earned from winning beauty pageants and later from working and that wasn’t needed, I put aside for you.
I know you’re a smart girl and every college would offer you a full scholarship, but just to make sure that if not, we have the money.
I never told your dad about this money, I was too afraid that he would use it. Your father is a great man and I love him dearly. But he’s surrounded himself with the wrong people, they poisoned his mind. And over time he had to drink more and more to forget what he had to do daily for Don Vito.
Please don’t tell him about the money. Keep it to yourself. It’s enough for a fresh start, if you know what I mean.
I’m sorry, that I couldn’t be by your side for longer. That I couldn’t give you the home that you deserved.
Promise me to live a good life. Go live your dreams. But please never forget that I love you, my little Miss Americana.
Love always,
Mom
Rachel leaned back in her seat, closing her eyes. When her mother died, she felt lost, didn’t know how to move forward, didn’t know how to continue with her life. Her father lost himself in alcohol, maybe even drugs. He disappeared for days, just to be laid down on the front porch by some of the men he worked with and for Rachel to get him inside, making sure he wouldn’t choke on his own vomit. She knew what he was doing. She knew who he worked for. From the day she was born she was part of a world she never wanted to be in, as she later realised. Movies and pop culture didn’t do this life justice. It wasn’t glorious or mysterious. It was scary and dark. Where other kids her age went to school and made new friends Rachel always had to stick to the kids from the family. To make sure she wouldn’t spill anything about her father’s work. Her mother had to fight hard with her husband to allow her to take Rachel to beauty pageants, after the little girl watched her mother getting dolled up for numerous pageants herself and wanting to be just like her when she was older. Rachel was talented, just like her mother. Her beauty apparent from a young age and it didn’t take long for her to win her first pageant. She loved competing in pageants. But what she loved even more was the time she spent with her mother. She was always so carefree and happy at the contests, a stark contrast to her usually quiet and almost depressed personality at home. She was always trying to not show Rachel how sad and worried she really was, but unfortunately it didn’t work out and Rachel had asked her more than once what was going on and why she was so sad.
"It’s nothing, my little Miss Americana, grown up stuff, nothing to worry about for you, my pretty girl." she had always said, followed by a kiss on Rachel’s forehead and a "I love you, my Rachel."
But with every year she got older she figured out more and more why her mother was so sad. And why the only times she was happy, careless and free, was when they went to pageants together. Because for a short while she could forget in what danger she was living with her daughter. What her husband did for a living. And the fear of the day where she, or worse Rachel, would have to pay the price of her husband’s job.
Ultimately she paid the price. After Rachel won the Miss Teen USA pageant in September 2016, and she had floated on cloud 9, her mother decided she deserved a treat and on the way home from Boston, where the pageant was held, she stopped at a little diner.
Rachel remembered how her mother ordered a strawberry milkshake and fries, she herself got a chocolate milkshake and fries and as soon as their food had arrived her mother looked around, a big grin on her lips before she nodded.
"No one’s watching
go!" she chimed and began dipping her fries into her milkshake.
Rachel laughed but did the same. Her father was always grossed out when his wife and daughter did that, laughing at them for their craziness, saying they better watch out or the food police would arrest them.
They were so happy that evening, her mother saying a million times how proud she was of her and what amazing and exciting times were ahead now for Rachel. But that happiness was gone in an instant when 2 men entered the dinner and her mother’s face turned to stone. She stopped laughing and looked at her daughter, shaking her head. To not draw any attention to them she silently held up her hand when the waitress looked over to them, signalling for her to come over. Paying in silence Rachel’s mother took her by the hand, guiding her outside, back into the car where she locked to doors immediately, starting the engine. She remembered how her mother called her father, telling him that two of Volkov’s men were at the diner. But before she could say anything she looked into the rear view mirror, her face turning pale when she told her husband that they were being followed. It didn’t take long for her mother to speed down the main road leading into Woburn, faster than ever before in her entire life. On speaker Rachel’s father telling her that their men were already on the way. But it was too late. She felt her mother grab onto her hand, clutching it tightly in her own, when the car was hit with something and soared through the air. She closed her eyes, holding onto the grab handle, listening to the sounds around her, when a searing pain shot through her left thigh. The pain was mind numbing and she tried her best to not focus on it. She tried to listen to the sounds around her but after a short while she only heard her own blood rushing into her ears. Then she felt her mother squeezing her hand and she opened her eyes, her first look was on the bright digital watch in the dashboard, then her mother squeezed her hand again and Rachel turned her head a little, looking at her.
"I’m so sorry, my beautiful Rachel. I love you so much." her final words as Rachel later had to find out.
After that night her father was never the same again. After that night Rachel was never the same again. She had to stay in the hospital for a couple of days, the doctors all confident that with the right care the wound on her right thigh, caused by an open break of her femur, would heal without leaving a big scar, so she could still compete in beauty pageants. But to her it didn’t matter. Without her mother she didn’t plan on continuing. And because of her not responding to any of the calls, mails or letters from the Miss Teen USA committee, regarding her upcoming tour through the United States, they stripped her off her title 6 weeks later, appointing her runner up, Caitlyn Summers, as new Miss Teen USA 2016.
Rachel absentmindedly rubbed her thigh, feeling the scarred skin through the thin fabric of her leggings. A reminder of the night that changed her life forever. That destroyed her life forever. She had to blink away tears, wiping her cheeks when Gabe knocked on the door, making her flinch.
"Rach! Dinner is ready!" his happy voice sounded through the door and the young girl cleared her throat.
"I’m coming in a minute Gabe!" she replied and listened to the sound of his steps on the gravel.
Rachel got up and looked into the mirror, wiping away the last remaining tears. It had been a while since she thought back to that night. The memories still too hurtful and real. After a minute of composure she followed Gabe back into the main house trying her best to not show the emotional turmoil she was feeling.
When Rachel went to bed that night she felt exhausted, drained, but also determined. Determined to escape her life in Woburn. Or Winchester. Escape her family. Live a happy life, just like her mother wanted her to. She would honour her mother’s last wish, give her all to do so. No matter what.

__________________________________________
study, work, sleep. that's all you do at this point in your life. after moving out of your shitty household, away from your family to finally have the independence you always craved.however, you didn't expect this freedom to get you to be working the night shift in a fast food place on the side of the road, near your college dorms just to make 10 bucks an hour. your mother called it “honest work”, you called it bullshit.
the days blurred together; class, work, study, sleep – if barely 4 hours counted as sleep. you wake up at six, chug coffee (that never seemed strong enough), sit through lectures half-conscious, clock into a job you hate, go home, repeat. it's mundane, but you told yourself that this was adult life now. it's the freedom you had been craving right? so you didn't complain.
you thanked your lucky star every day that your parents begrudgingly paid for your studies. not many had that. they worked harder than ever to continue to pay for your tuition, extra hours and all. deep down, it made you feel kind of bad. it's one of the reasons why you signed up for that stupid job you hate anyway. to help them in any way you could, because you could see the dirty looks they gave you every time they paid for your studies. you hated being codependent so might as well show them you're not a complete disappointment.
after finishing your studies, you put on the flashy yellow polo shirt with the bland logo on your left pec; unconsciously tugging at its mid section that highlight the squish of your body in ways that make you feel uncomfortable. you scoot into your jeans and reach for your glasses on the nightstand, putting them on comfortably on your nose bridge. let's get this show on the road.
and sam, poor sam, he on the other hand was stressed the fuck out. he wasnt supposed to be here, he was supposed to be buried nose deep in law text books. or spending his nights in the library. maybe to prove to himself - or to his dad - when this was all over that he was still useful and independent like a normal person. but sam was far from normal and that was clear.
“you think life’s hard, sammy? Try hunting things that wanna rip you apart.” either his brother or dad would have said, but he didnt care. he wanted a family, but he didn't have the luxury of it. instead he was standing under the flickering fluorescent lights of the fast food joint he found to work, wearing a name tag with a name that barely felt like his own; ‘sam winchester’.
sure he was far from home, far from the stress of his family but deep down he still felt like he was running. running from what? maybe his responsibilities. no. it wasn't his responsibility to pick up after his father.
he wasn't looking forward to being the new guy at work, once again having to be thrown into something he'd just have to adapt to. but it wasnt so bad. he had friends in his university, the same one you happened to go to. he had jess, brady, zach, and luis. it wasn't all bad. he bet zach would have a laugh if he saw how ridiculous he looked in this awful uniform.
his boss was talking, but he was barely listening, his thoughts too clouded by sleep as they walk down the backrooms of the restaurant and towards the kitchen. where coincidentally, you just walked into. and oh boy the moment he spots you, its like a breath of fresh air, you looked around the same age as him and just as tired. maybe he wouldn't be such a sore thumb in this new job after all.
you clock into work, waving at your coworkers with a polite smile like you always do. according to your boss, this friendly nature and facade was one of the reasons you were always ‘employee of the month’; you almost scoff at the idea. you, a student doing the bare minimum to survive got you this title. It really shows how shitty this joint is, how little effort the employees put in. this ‘hard earned’ title is also the reason why you spot your boss and a tall young man wearing the employee uniform standing by his side walking towards you with purpose.
“(y/n), we've got a new employee joining our team. As an employee of the month, i want you to train him and show him the ropes, alright? good luck” he says without a breach for protest or a reply. you stand there for a few seconds, rather awkwardly as you and the pretty boy in front of you stare at each other. you push up your glasses, pursing your lips ever so slightly as you think of something to say. this was never asked of you, you were used to just keeping your head down and doing your job, now you were being asked to train a new employee. that's fine.
“Hi.” he greets first, extending his hand politely. this act made your shoulders relax, the warm tone in his voice was enough to break the awkward silence. you are quickly drawn to his eyes, sweet, puppy dog green-brown eyes. it was actually overwhelming as you instinctively look him up and down.
you clear your throat, jerking your hand forward and grasping his hand; shaking it ever so slightly. you hear him let out a quiet chuckle, your cheek flare in embarrassment as you realize he's laughing at your awkwardness. but it isn't mocking, it's genuinely sweet. “hi! uh-so
im (y/n)” you finally cut through the silence you allowed to linger for far too long.
“sam” he replies kindly, so kindly it made you want to squish him. cuteness aggression. “you'll
train me?” he adds, eyes darting down to your still joined hands. but he didn't pull away, surprisingly enough, but you do as to maintain professionalism even though every inch of you was begging for you to just hold this cute boy's hand.
“yup, thats what – yeah thats what im here to do – yes.” you stutter out, scolding yourself internally for acting like this. it made you feel like a weirdo. this boy walks into your life, and within a few minutes makes you feel nervous. you love it. “come” you add, swiftly, turning on your heels and walking down towards the staff down near the back of the building just for some basic instructions to get him on his feet.
the next 2 hours were actually fun. he made training feel like bonding rather than work. you help him with the basics; food safety, customer service, register training, efficiency, all the things that keep this crappy fast food joint up and running like the good employee you are. you two manage to talk so much about your lives during that time, that you don't think you've laughed that much in forever.
you wipe down the counters, the restaurant’s flow of customers slowing down just enough for you to do a general sweep of the kitchen and keep up with the health and safety protocols bestowed upon you. your wrist starts to hurt as you wipe down the counter next to the grill, eyes darting to sam as he readies to cook more of the burgers, which you had taught him to do. “this job is gonna kill me” you mutter, half joking and gently rolling your wrist around as it starts to get sore from all the effort being put into wiping the single smudge of grease on the counter. “feels like ill spend my entire life here, like i aint moving forward, you know?”
sam exhales a laugh, his hand pausing their movements on the grill as he takes in your words. he knew exactly how that felt, its how he used to feel every day living with his dad and brother. more his dad. john winchester was never known for being warm. “yeah, i get that.” he agrees, pausing for a beat to think. “i guess im just used to it, you know. moving, working, not really having the time for – you know, a life”
his words piqued your interest, putting the dirty rag in the water bucket to pay full attention to him. “yeah? how come?”
“my family business.” he shrugs lightly but it felt forced. “my dad mostly. he had me and my brother in the
hunting business since we were little, town to town, never settling down.” he scrapes crumbles of dried burger buns from the counter absentmindedly, thoughts consuming his head. “this whole
stanford thing is probably the longest i've settled down without him breathing down my neck”
his tone makes your heart clench, though you've only met today, it felt like you knew this boy more than most of the people in this job and your university combined. to be fair, you didn't meet many people. you walk over to the side of the kitchen, sounds of cutlery and pots banging in the background seemed to fade with the importance of your conversation. “thats why you got this job?” you ask cautiously
“yeah. mostly. i just wanted to do something normal.” he confessed, shifting on his feet and following your activity by grabbing the spatula sitting by the grill and going back to what he was practicing previously; flipping patty’s. “no hunting, no family to worry about
even if its –” he gestures to the air around us, glaring at the fluorescent lights above. “this. even if it kind of sucks” you stifle a chuckle, knowing he was right. it surprised you how much this boy and you were alike but also so different. it was a breath of fresh air.
you felt like you already knew a lot about him, not all the details, but enough to make you want to dig up more. he was struggling to flip a burger with the spatula. you were watching in amusement by the side of the room, admiring him as he sticks his tongue out and attempts to wedge the spatula under the patty one more time before giving up. “here, let me help” you call out loudly enough for him to hear you but not loud enough to be annoying; the unconscious insecurity of being heard after all. you reach him in a quick few steps, standing beside him and placing a gentle hand on top of his holding the tool.
with practiced precision, you help him push the spatula under the meat patty and swiftly flip it over. your eyes are locked on the food in front of you, not realizing the intimate position you've put both of you in. “ah yes, the mighty spatula is rather hard to work with” you muse lightheartedly, earning a laugh from Sam above you which sends a sense of pride through you.
“this is a weapon i cannot handle” he replies back in the same tone, playing along with you as you work the food for him. your grip on his hand was comforting, warm. it was rare for him to allow this kind of physical contact, but it just felt right with you. and you felt the same.
by the time you realized the position you were in, it made your heart skip a beat. eyes slowly wander up, finally taking in the prominent height difference between the two of you. your eyes meet and it just feels so sweet, warm. a flicker of understanding passes through the two of you, a desire to want to be around each other without fear of judgement or embarrassment. you remember the words he said earlier, feeling the need to speak, you do. “for what its worth, i think its impressive. your independence
and you're not half-bad at flipping burgers” you tease affectionately which sparks another genuine chuckle from him.
sam feels the tension on his shoulders melt away. “yeah you think so?” he purred.
“no, you still suck. but you’re getting there” you reply playfully, both of you laughing together. your eyes catch a smudge of ketchup on his cheek, you had no idea how it got there but you instinctively reach to wipe the condiment from his cheek with your other hand.
it makes him flinch for a split second, making you pause. but then he leans into your palm, your thumb continuing its previous motion and wiping the ketchup from his cheek ever so gently. your hand lingers for longer than necessary, but he doesn’t seem to mind. the smile on his lips growing wider, seemingly excited. it makes your face burn and you pull away, dropping both your hands to your side.
you slowly peel yourself from him, letting out a hearty laugh and fixing the tacky uniform; tugging at its collar as the air around the two of you seems to shift. sam’s eyes cast down for a split second, seeming almost disappointed that you had pulled away. “thanks” he mutters back, eyes back at you. he refused to look away, drawn to you so suddenly as if you were everything he ever needed.
but before either of you can acknowledge what was happening, you smell fire and hear sizzling. your gaze falls on the patty, gasping as you see it burst into small flames. sam yelps and instinctively pulls away from the grill, waving the spatula around before both of your gazes fall on the fire extinguisher.
“shit!” you hiss, taking a few steps back from the grill. he acts faster than you, reaching for it while you stand there wide-eyed. WHOOSH. the fire extinguisher goes off loudly, covering everything. by everything, you mean everything. the fire, the grill, and you. the fire was gone but so was the meat we were preparing and your uniform covered in white foam.
that was until the boss burst into the kitchen, looking pissed off but mostly worried for us. “what the hell is going on here?!” he shouts, rightfully so, to be honest, you think. his eyes fall on the charred patty, the grill and you covered in foam while sam holds the extinguisher like a weapon.
you look over at sam to gauge a reaction out of him just to see him already looking at you. a crack of a smile breaks his look of fear, your face mirrors his until you both break into quiet chuckles. these chuckles grow into belly laughs as you lose it, sam places the fire extinguisher on the floor as you laugh at the idiotic situation you found yourselves in.
you two didn't get into nearly as much trouble as you thought you would, it just put a microscopic stain on your reputation as an employee and put sam to a bad start. but it seemed to be alright with both of you as you walked back to the dorms of Stanford together at about 7pm.
the night was chilly, grey clouds coating the skies as you two walk side by side in comfortable silence. the moment he found out you go to the same university, he offered to walk you to your dorm building and you agreed without hesitation. skip out on this cute guy walking you? no way.
“i swear my feet are so tired, if one more person asked for extra pickles i was gonna lose it
” you murmur under your breath, an incredulous laugh escaping your lips which sparks a softer one from him almost in agreement. “today was so busy, how are you not exhausted?” you ask, adding onto your previous statement.
he shrugs ever so slightly, grinning down at you with a bashful expression. “guess im just built different” he muses, you bump your hip with his in return. “or maybe i just wasn't running around as much as you were, you were all like-” he mimics your stressed-out movements, working in an imaginary station which makes you playfully roll your eyes.
you nudge him with your elbow, biting back a soft grin. “hey, i'm not the rookie here, rookie” you emphasize, he elbows you back in return, his laugh is louder this time. the both of you were internally over the moon; proud you could make each other laugh like this not knowing the other was simply happy with the company.
it was like neither of you wanted to reach your dorms, steps trailing slower than normal. the silence between you two seemed to stretch out comfortably - but you decided to break it. “so stanford?” you ask calmly, stuffing your hands in the pockets of your jacket. well, his jacket. the one he insisted you wear after he sprayed you with cold foam.
sam exhales, “well, i needed to get away from my family in some way. where i ended up didn't matter as much” he replied, eyes casting down at the ground as you walk.
“i can understand. your dad doesn't seem like the supportive home-y type” you sympathize, recalling the few things he mentioned about his dad back at the diner. this makes him deflate, guilt stinging your chest as you realize you might have pried too much. “hey, im sorry–” you add quickly, placing a comforting hand on his bicep
to your surprise, he leans into your touch, like hes been carrying this weight for too long. “no, you're okay.” he murmurs. “you're right. my dad isn't really the homey type” he agrees, eyes finally darting from the ground, up at you. well, down at you, again considering the man was a giant.
for a moment, he hesitates as if debating whether to keep going. wondering if you would even care. but the look in your eyes said you would. “my brother
wanted me to stay.” he mutters again, eyes staying locked in yours as you walk. ”i don't think he even knows if i’m alive.” he admits. for a moment it felt like you were the only person he could confide in and vice versa.
“you know
it's so easy to talk to you” sam adds warmly. you could sense the nervousness but genuine interest flowing from him like waves. your hand drops from his arm, brushing against his hand with a feather-like touch for a split second. that split second felt like fire, welcoming fire.
your nose crinkles ever so slightly at his words, pride and relief rushing through you at his reassuring words. you felt
excitement and triumph. the way he looks at you, his touches and his warmth are all signs that maybe, just maybe, this cute co-worker of yours actually likes you. and before you knew it, you were standing under the arched entryway of your dorm building.
you stop by the entry doors, turning your back to them and facing sam with a grateful smile. he returns it shyly, boldly taking your hands in his. his thumbs run across your knuckles, committing their soft surfaces to memory. he brings your hands to his lips, placing a lingering kiss on them. “thanks for letting me walk you
” he mutters, his voice blending in perfectly with the atmosphere. the crickets, the almost nonexistent breeze of the night.
“you're always welcome to do so” you reply, keeping the intense eye contact from before. you feel the thumping of your heart, growing louder and louder.
“i guess i'll see you tomorrow?...” he continues after a few moments of silence. your palms were clammy but you felt emboldened by his words, placing your hands on his shoulder and using it as leverage to reach his cheek. you hesitate for a few seconds but press up on your toes and brush a quick, warm kiss on his left cheek. his skin was so warm under your lips, you almost didn't want to pull away. but when you do, his eyes are wide with wonder as if he wasn't expecting it but it definitely wasn't unwelcome.
“...tomorrow” you agree under your breath, slowly pulling your hands from his and stepping back. your hands fumble behind you as you reach for the door knob without looking away from him. the way his uniform hugged his arms, the way it dipped to show the smallest patch skin just below his collar. you wanted to remember it all night. “night sam
” you call out, finally opening the door and stepping into the building.
sam steps back, eyes lingering on your figure as you walk into the building. a soft sigh escapes his lips, a breath he didn't know he was holding this entire time. it dawned upon him that maybe this whole experience didn't have to be forced. maybe work won't be completely unbearable, not when nights with you like this exist. and little did he know, you felt the same.

My Dungeon Meshi Modern AU Thoughts Instead of Writing My Economics Research Paper lmao
Ughhhh,,,, okay have been thinking about them all day and if one person manages to make it through the void and hear me out and talk about them with me then I’ll be happy lol.
WARNING: this is stupidly long, like I spent an absurd time writing every single little detail down. With that being said here we go:
cw//mentions and minor graphic descriptions of death, bullying, discrimination, injury, abuse, trauma, mental health issues, and abandonment
‱ Laios
- currently 26 and living with his sister Falin
- studying zoology part-time at the local college
- mostly does night classes since he works 1-2 jobs during the day to help pay for his and Falin’s tuition and apartment
- he and Fallin took their dog Muimui when they moved out, they also feed the local stray cats
- lived on a farm with his sister and parents when he was a kid, and is where his love of animals comes from
- however did not have the best of childhoods, as he was a frequent target for bullying due to having undiagnosed autism, and his father was very much a “nothing is wrong with you, toughen up the world isn’t going to coddle you” kind of person
- this was further cemented when he cried going hunting with his dad for the first time and refused to eat any of the deer or rabbit they had caught
- his mom had her own mental health problems that she was never diagnosed for, so often she fell into the same mindset as her husband when it came to Laios’ and Fallin’s behaviour, only she was more erratic due to her fear of one or both of her kids becoming like her
- never forgave his father after he sent Fallin off to a private middle/high school far away from their home, little did he know it was because the severe bullying Fallin was receiving was too much for her, and he wanted to send her away before she got hurt or worse
- nearly tried to run away at 16, however was caught by the police almost immediately and returned home
- completed his high school diploma and took off with Muimui without even saying goodbye to his parents, Fallin nearly joined him in the city but since she was still under guardianship of her parents, she couldn’t leave until she became an adult
- once graduated, she reunited with Laios in his apartment where they now live
- works nearly full-time at Senshi’s restaurant and works part-time as a janitor at their local zoo (he wants to be close to the animals lol)
- very busy but he makes it work, Marcille and Kabru have no idea how he does it without any meds or caffeine
- either has a worn out picture of him and Falin with their old dogs, or has a hand-made drawing of his theoretical strongest monster in his pocket that he looks at whenever he needs inspiration
- both him and Falin live wayyy out of the city center since rent is fucking abysmal downtown
- insists on taking the bus or walking everywhere since taxis and buying a bike costs too much, even if the commute is like 2 hours with 3 transfers
- despite this, he still has a drivers license
- the kind of guy you would expect to be eating leafy green tofu bowls from your local hipster vegan bistro, but is actually the kind of guy who eats the dubious $4 ground beef chubs and off-brand deli ham from walmart
- socks and slides with free college club t-shirts and cargo pants from the gap that come with like 50 pockets so he can carry all his stuff (the stuff mostly being dog treats and loose bird feed) bro has no drip aside from one outfit put together by Marcille
- uses the same highlighter blue and yellow adidas backpack he’s had since middle school, carries literally everything in there
- doesn’t listen to music, but if he does it’s rain/nature sounds with the $2 headphones you get from the dollarstore
- not much of a gym freak and usually just goes casually, prefers sports to working out (will have a protein shake but does not invest in creatine or other pre-workout supplements)
- either uses the same recyclable water bottle with the label torn off from a pack of 50 he got 3 years ago, or just uses one of his protein shake bottles I can’t decide
- hangs out with Marcille and Falin the most often (since Marcille constantly makes excuses to study with Falin at their apartment), sometimes gets smoothies or juice with Kabru if they run into each other
- hangs out with Senshi and Chilchuck less often, their time spent together is usually limited to having a beer after closing the restaurant or meeting together with everyone else to have dinner every couple months
- goal is to become a wildlife biologist when he graduates
- more to add if I think of it
‱ Fallin
- currently 23 and lives with Laios
- in her second year of studying veterinary medicine at their city’s main university
- grew up with Laios and her parents on their farm, also developed a deep love and appreciation for animals early on, but while Laios was more interested in the study of their behaviour, she was more interested in healing them
- also has undiagnosed autism like her brother, only when it came to her behaviours, she stood out a lot more and was subsequently bullied heavily for stimming, having major sensitivities to light and sound, self-isolating, talking to inanimate objects or “ghosts”, having a special interest in things like bugs or plants, and having a very specific schedule that adults had to help her with
- never really understood why adults or other children treated her differently, as she thought it was normal for everyone, however was still affected by having no friends aside from her brother during her younger years
- the bullying got so bad that kids began physically tormenting her, and since she never told Laios (who was in middle school and couldn’t always be with her), there was essentially no one to defend her
- very sadly culminates in an incident where she was intentionally locked in a graveyard overnight, and although she didn’t sustain any injuries she was fairly traumatized by the event, it was the final straw for her father to send her away to a private school at 12 years old to finish her education
- moved to a different city the next year where she stayed in dormitories, had her own room due to enrolling late
- also initially had a hard time making friends, and often cried since she couldn’t be with Laios, however no one bullied her for her autism and most often ignored her or gossiped
- had Marcille as a “buddy” to help her get acclimated to school life, however their relationship was quite awkward initially as Marcille thought she was unnerving and frankly a little stupid, however was completely shocked at Fallin’s nearly perfect grades
- school policy at that time stipulated that students had to return to the main hall for dinner at a certain time, however when Fallin doesn’t show up, Marcille has to look for her
- she finds Fallin at her secret hangout spot, similar to her dungeon in the anime, a corner with a group of trees and thick bushes that opened up into a grassy nook and a little pond, there they talk about what she does there and why she skips
- also similar to the anime, a fox (rather than a slime) catches them by surprise, but as Marcille tries to get it to run away by throwing rocks at it, Fallin stops her and explains it never comes closer than the tree line, she then points out that hurting while it’s already injured (has a slight limp) will cause it to die, allowing for the prey animals like squirrels and rabbits to eat away at most of the fauna surrounding the school, basically emphasizing the importance of all animals in an ecosystem and how it’s wrong to try and shift the ecosystem solely for our comfort or benefit (cheesy I know but it’s for the plot)
- she then offers Marcille the raspberries that grow on some of the bushes, and soon after Marcille asks if she would like to be friends
- they remain as friends in school only for another year, as Marcille graduates early and leaves Fallin behind much to her heartbreak, however does promise that she’ll visit and reunite with her soon
- by the time she graduates, she moves in with Laios and begins attending the same university as Marcille, there their friendship is reaffirmed, and they both start to develop feelings for one another
- full-time student but does work a few shifts at one of her university’s coffee shops whenever she can (tends to feel guilty about Laios helping her out with tuition on top of taking care of everything at home)
- in the honours program, and although she gets good grades her commitment is often questioned due to her habit of skipping
- reason for skipping is because she often does volunteer work at a nearby veterinary clinic
- unlike Laios, Fallin likes to bike to and from her classes
- it’s her main source of exercise, though she also does go to the gym if she has time, girl is absolutely built and is much stronger than she appears
- lives off of daily sweet treats and fried bologna sandwiches or tomato soup made by Laios
- frequently raids the raspberry bush growing outside hers and Laios’ apartment building, as well as the crabapple tree that technically belongs to the house next door but has its branches growing over the fence separating them
- also does not rely on excessive caffeine, but she does enjoy tea and coffee unlike Laios
- has a fjÀllrÀven backpack that Marcille gifted her for her birthday, mostly full of her textbooks but she does use it to carry rocks or sticks she finds interesting
- water bottle is a very dented bright pink hydro flask (also gifted to her by Marcille)
- has the jean shorts, tucked in t-shirt, and long cardigan look on lockdown, also wears hiking boots or converse, rarely is she seen in flipflops
- no make-up either, Marcille had to practically beg her to at least start using a clear lipgloss
- isn’t picky about music and usually just listens to whatever Marcille or Laios plays, sometimes she indulges in some lofi hiphop beats if she’s studying
- obviously best friends with Marcille but does not know she has a crush on Marcille, and thinks that her intense feelings of love and happiness are just normal girl friendship feelings (oh you poor thing)
- only vaguely knows of Senshi through the leftover food Laios sometimes brings home after his shifts, with Chilchuck she is more familiar since she sometimes visits him with Marcille on the weekends
- favourite thing is when her, Laios, Marcille, Izutsumi, Chilchuck, and Senshi all gather to get dinner together
- when it comes to her parents, she still maintains contact unlike Laios, though her messages tend to be generalized or cordial (not necessarily her intention it’s just she isn’t sure what to talk about in regards to her life beyond school)
- goal is to become a travelling wildlife vet
- more to add when I think of it
‱ Marcille
- is currently 26 and lives by herself (due to it being a modern au I’m imagining all races have the same lifespan of around 70-80 years)
- had probably the most normal upbringing and early adulthood out of all of the characters, both of her parents were very loving and attentive, always encouraging her and supporting her keen intellect through her hobbies
- however, they weren’t always around due to being very busy as government lawyers and often working late, she has very distinct memories of winning math and science awards as a child, looking out towards the crowd only to see her parents weren’t there
- was generally quite lonely during her childhood since she had no siblings or cousins to play with, a similar situation at school where most kids considered her stuck up or bossy when in reality she was just smart and was blunt about telling people when they were wrong about something
- is very close with Chilchuck, having known him and his family since she was little, although them all getting together was fairly rare, some of her fondest memories have been when they’d go on family trips together and she would get to play with Chilchuck’s daughters
- lost touch with him from ages 9-15 but reunited with him at 16 while he crashed at their place after his work injury and during his divorce, became very close with him during this time and developed a deep familial fondness for him despite all his teasing
- at 19 years old, she suffered a great deal of mental anguish as Chilchuck began to lose contact with her, Fallin was considering moving to a different city for university, and her father died due to a very sudden and unexpected stroke, she felt as though everyone in her life was slipping through her grasp and as a result, developed severe depression that would last until she completed her masters
- luckily, she had a good support system during that time and she was able to make it through the worst of it, however she still does struggle with motivation over simple tasks such as doing her hair or brushing her teeth
- her mood and outlook is much better though, having mostly returned to the same bubbly and dramatic personality that she once had
- is best friends with Fallin, and met her while at private school, mostly explained above, but her initial reaction of Fallin was quite negative before switching around after she realized that her way of thinking isn’t always the right one, even if the facts are right, her perspective and way of interpreting them isn’t always going to be sound
- this new perspective is what caused Marcille to become so enamoured with Fallin, eventually becoming a stupid crush that sticks with her to this day
- has her own studio apartment downtown, brand new building and everything (both parents are government lawyers so you can imagine the kind of money she has lmao)
- has a fawn floppy-eared bunny named Ambrosia
- despite her wealth, she doesn’t look down on her friends whatsoever, if anything she buys them expensive gifts as an act of kindness rather than an act of arrogance or condescension
- in the middle of attaining her phd in microbiology while doing independent research specializing in the study of telomere function
- attends the same university as Fallin
- graduated from high school at 16 and was done with her undergraduate by 19 and her masters by 21, a lot of people tend to think she’s full of herself but she often disregards them as people who don’t try hard enough
- born to carry her baby blue apple ecosystem in a cute tote bag, forced to haul her 7 biology textbooks in an ugly ass dark purple swissgear backpack she picked out when she was 12
- she has an unhealthy addiction to coffee and diet coke, literally cannot function without at least one per day
- cannot cook to save her life, lives exclusively off of pre-made grocery store meals or the sandwiches her university’s grab-n-go store sells, the kitchen aid mixer in her kitchen is practically a decoration at this point
- is actually the kind of person to be eating the leafy green tofu bowl from the local hipster vegan bistro
- has her own car and license, but lives close enough to her university to walk, Laios cannot fathom why she pays insurance every month for it but hardly uses or let anyone else use it
- I personally think she likes to rollerblade too
- jogging is her main form of exercise, but will also do yoga or calisthenics occasionally, probably the type of person to fall for a juice cleanse scam until Laios or Chilchuck scolds her for not eating enough
- I feel like she would be an intense swiftie (sorry :3) other than that, she likes the typical pop radio stuff that is played constantly
- at least she’s not a Stanley cup girl, she will use her scuffed gallon water bottle with the printed times of day until she dies
- very fashionable and loves to wear makeup, like wide leg pants or pleated skirts with penny loafers and cutesy blouses, a firm believer that any Korean makeup brand is far superior than anything Sephora could offer
- practically attached to the hip with Fallin, girl will find any excuse to study with her (the most pathetic sapphic ever someone put her out of her misery)
- otherwise, she’s buddy-buddy with Laios and Kabru but that’s about the extent of it, she’s known Chilchuck since she was little so he’s like an uncle to her
- she is quite friendly with Senshi and enjoys his cooking but hasn’t known him for a long time like the others, Izutsumi she treats like a little sister/niece and is always buying her things
- more to add when I think of it
‱ Chilchuck (you can tell he’s my fav because he has one of longest backstories lmao)
- currently 49 and living with Senshi and Izutsumi
- owns a two bedroom bungalow outside of downtown but still within the city, saved up for it after his divorce
- used to live in the suburbs with his ex-wife and daughters, but before that it was a shitty apartment close to where Laios lives now
- teen father, had Mayjack when he and his wife were 17 and had to graduate early so they could move out, they had Fullertom soon after and then Puckpatty by the time they were both 20, they got married at 22ïżŒ
- since neither could afford university at the time, Chilchuck went straight into a locksmithing trades program so he could have a decent income, his father had instilled a deep sense of responsibility and honour towards being a provider so he threw himself into his work which caused his and his wife’s initial frustration with one another
- when he was done apprenticing and when the kids were old enough to go to school, his wife went to university to begin studying teaching so she could become a professor, despite having to be home more often, Chilchuck still remained somewhat emotionally detached from his family
- by the time his daughters entered middle school, they had bought a house in the suburbs and his wife became qualified to teach
- feeling pressured by the mortgage, debt, and having to save for his daughter’s college, he began drinking more and taking a lot more hours at work, if he wasn’t working he was at the bar with his coworkers, he often didn’t come home until it was very late
- the final straw for his wife was when he showed up to work severely hungover and exhausted, then proceeded to nearly die in a home renovation project (passed out standing up and fell of a 20ft scaffolding, broke his hip and pelvis pretty badly as well as his humerus and quite a few of his ribs, also had a life-threatening brain bleed due to a skull fracture)
- at that point, all three of his daughters were already in university or trade school so his wife moved out and sold their house while Chilchuck was recovering in the hospital, she moved into a townhouse closer to the city’s main university where she still lives now with Fullertom
- having basically nothing in his savings, he crashed at Marcille’s parent’s place until he could save up a bit and get an apartment or townhouse (he and Marcille’s dad were friends in high school), essentially lived on their couch for about two years
- during this time, he became known as “Uncle Chil” by 16 year old Marcille and he developed a close uncle/niece relationship with her
- teased her as much as any uncle would, but also took her out shopping every couple of months, could never afford the stuff she wanted but he always got her lunch
- eventually, he saved up enough for the down payment of the two bedroom bungalow he lives in now and moved in, initially lost touch with Marcille but started being there for her more after her dad died, even began getting in touch with his daughters again at Marcille’s suggestion
- from then on, he took his work life more easily and tried to make time for himself in between shifts so that he didn’t feel he needs to drink himself stupid every time he came home, tried to pick up multiple hobbies and eventually settled on pottery making and brewing his own alcohol (that he sells
. mostly lol)
- meets Senshi at 42 when he is called in to install the locks and security system of the new restaurant Senshi is building, initially they had not been super friendly with each other, as Chilchuck found it infuriating how Senshi kept on wanting changes to be made to his security system, and how he was basically a walking construction accident waiting to happen
- once everything was finished however, Senshi offered Chilchuck a free dinner at his place as an apology for being stubborn, and unable to say no to free food (and alcohol) Chilchuck agrees
- they become friends after the dinner, however proceed to dance around each other for another 4 years until Marcille threatens to tell Senshi about Chilchuck’s feelings if he doesn’t confess himself
- Chilchuck does eventually confess (during a very charged “guy’s trip” to a resort in Mexico) and they start dating, after the trip, Senshi and Izutsumi move into Chilchuck’s place where they still currently live
- thanks to living with Senshi, Chilchuck adopts a more healthy lifestyle where he stops smoking, eats more, and drinks less, in return, he helps Senshi manage Izutsumi during her teen years as well as help out around his restaurant when he has time
- is generally living comfortably now, with a nice salary and more free time to commit to his hobbies, despite this he still deeply cares about his work and is a union man at heart who is always willing to rally behind his coworkers and organize when something happens
- mostly listens to 80s dad rock and some 90s grunge, is very proud of his CD collection
- dresses similar to Laios, however ditches the college club t-shirt and cargo shorts for polos shirts and chino shorts or dress shirts and casual slacks, also wears tacky boomer sandals for his feet or his construction boots
- drives a land rover defender that he bought in high school, cares for it deeply but isn’t a car guy by any means, he does the bare minimum maintenance to keep it safe and functional
- carries his minimal stuff in a sling bag and lunch cooler, but he also has a survival backpack in the back of his land rover for emergencies
- is a Stanley cup owner, has two, one from the 70s that his dad gave to him, and another white modern one from Marcille, his older one is covered in princess stickers from when his daughters were young
- pretentious black coffee drinker, makes fun of Izutsumi all the time for the amount of simple syrup and cream she puts into her iced coffee
- is okay at cooking, but is definitely more of a grill master, never ask him to deep fry anything though
- is also surprisingly handy thanks to the skills his dad passed onto him, speaking of his family, he isn’t very close to his mother and siblings since they all moved back to their home continent after Chilchuck graduated, he still sometimes travels alone on special holidays or on the anniversary of his father’s death but only if he can afford it
- is now a supervisor of his own crew, initially he wanted to own his own locksmith company, but he also wants to retire soon so he needs to save up as much as he can
- has two main friend groups, one he refers to as “the freaks” which includes Laios, Marcille, Fallin, Kabru, Izutsumi, and Senshi, and the other he refers to as “work” which includes Namari, Mickbell, Kuro, and Dandan
- is closest to Senshi and Marcille, seeing them as his family, however is a bit more distant with Izutsumi since he doesn’t want to automatically take on a “step-dad” role in her life, the reasoning mainly stems from his respect of her and her decisions on who she gets to let in her life, but is also because he wants to avoid things becoming awkward between them
- is, if not begrudgingly, friendly with Laios and Fallin, deep down he cares about them more than he lets on, is mostly cordial with Kabru
- is surprisingly close to Namari, however they keep their relationship strictly within their workplace and the bar they sometimes hit up afterwards
- is closer to his ex-wife and daughters now, having dinner once a month at his ex-wife’s house, they still haven’t really reconciled but they’ve allowed each other to move on
- more to add when I think of it
‱ Senshi (also super long please forgive me)
- is currently 52 and living with Chilchuck and his adopted daughter Izutsumi
- lives in Chilchuck’s house, but used to own a condo near the restaurant he used to work for
- when he was a child, he lived on an entirely separate continent in the remote far north, the village he grew up in was known for its mining industry, most of the community including his parents were miners, however an accident killed his father and cancer killed his mother when he was a baby, so his father’s friend Gillin took Senshi in when he was 2
- due to the mining culture surrounding the village, it was expected that Senshi also become a miner when he grew up, this coupled with the hyper-masculine ideas of honouring his late father and carrying on the bloodline, made Senshi not really put in much effort into school since he believed it had no use for him, a decision that would later hinder his career and degree options greatly
- once graduated from high school, Gillin immediately had Senshi take his safety courses and get his certification so he could get a job as soon as possible, with some references from Gillin himself, Senshi was able to land a beginner’s position within the company Gillin was in
- worked 7 years mining coal until the mine ran dry and he had to look for work elsewhere, jumped positions between 3-4 companies over another 8 years mining iron and copper until he landed a 2 year contract at a remote but booming silver mine
- was put into a 6 man team composed of himself, Gillin, Brigan, Invar, Totan, and Noor, where they would descend into a highly unregulated and dangerous mountain mine and extract the massive veins of silver, they all were paid well, but the conditions were next to abysmal
- 1 year and 9 months into the contract, a rockslide on the south side of the mountain caused a cheap tunnel support to collapse over the only exit leading out of the stope they were mining in, effectively trapping them indefinitely
- luckily they had a ventilation shaft, but none of them could fit inside and escape or yell for attention since they were trapped over 200ft deep and 500ft in the mountain, so their only option was to ration their food and wait for help to arrive
- they do try to escape in other ways, such as mining through the collapsed support, however this only leads to injury among the group, and as much as Senshi wanted to help, he was under strict instruction by Gillin not to over-exert himself, even though he wasn’t a kid anymore, he still had the most strength and wits among them all, this also results in him receiving the most food much to Brigan’s rage
- in an attempt to be useful, Senshi started drawing up the maps of the mine to see if there was a tunnel close by they could mine into
- as more time passes and they realized no one would be coming to help them, their escape attempts become much more desperate, one attempt to blow up the collapsed tunnel entrance with their remaining explosives leads to the death of Totan, another attempt to start mining over the collapsed tunnel entrance leads to the death of Noor, one last attempt to remove the panelling lining the ventilation shaft so they could be able to fit through leads to the death of Invar, leaving only Brigan, Gillin, and Senshi left
- after six weeks of being trapped under ground, Brigan mentally snaps and tries to cannibalize Senshi so they could eat his flesh, this leads to a physical altercation between Gillin and Brigan which ends in an unstable overhang of rock to collapse and crush Brigan and for Gillin to succumb to his wounds and exhaustion
- alone and starving, Senshi realizes he is now skinny enough to fit through the ventilation shafts and crawl his way out, he uses a combination of ropes and support spikes to help aid him, but soon quickly realizes he mostly has to navigate in the dark
- for two more weeks, Senshi follows the map he memorized and the feeling of airflow to make his way out, only surviving off of his remaining water, in the end he managed to crawl out of a shaft just outside the mining camp
- relived and also deeply saddened, Senshi remains near the shaft until some workers doing a perimeter check find him in the morning, he is promptly taken into the hospital to treat his injuries
- after explaining the situation to the police and his boss, his boss offers him a $30,000 payout to keep quiet and say nothing, the officers say it is possible to take his boss and the company to court, however it would likely put him into massive debt trying to find a good lawyer, in the end Senshi takes the money and leaves the camp for his village
- what’s left to him by Gillin is another $50,000 in savings and property assets, the rest is given to his remaining family, the first thing Senshi buys with the money is his adamantine pot and mythril knife, using both to make a soup Gillin would often feed him, and leaving five bowls of it outside of the collapsed silver mine before moving out of his village for good at aged 35
- he moves to the continent and city where all the other characters are currently living, buying his condo and deciding to enter into 4 year culinary school program
- during these 4 years, Senshi comes to realize that cooking is his true passion, finding it immensely rewarding and fulfilling, and even though he didn’t make many friends due to his unorthodox taste and recipes, it was still the most happy he’s ever been
- about 1 year after graduating and getting a job as the main line cook for a high end restaurant, Senshi meets and adopts 5 year old Izutsumi
- he initially sees her wandering around the green belt outside and behind the restaurant, kicking rocks and occasionally running and hiding in trees, he was always worried she was homeless, however would always see she was gone by the time he was done his shifts
- around five months of this, Izutsumi notices and begins to approach Senshi, as if she had wanted food, Senshi would usually offer some of his packed lunches or leftovers and she would always accept and sit next to him while they ate
- Izutsumi usually never spoke but was always ravenous, Senshi often worried that she was being abused, but whenever he would ask she would always say no, and since she was a healthy weight and never had any bruises or welts, Senshi reluctantly believed her, after that though he began packing more food
- eventually, a woman (Maizuru) approaches Senshi after one of his shifts and bluntly asked if he would like to take care of Izutsumi from then on, baffled he asked who she was and why she knew he was feeding Izutsumi, and she explained that she is her caretaker
- she also explained that since Izutsumi seemed to trust and respect Senshi the most, that he would be the best person to give her a chance at a normal life and raise her into an adjusted adult, due to the fact that she has no regard or interest or respect in her or the rest of her foster family, she then conceded that her question was rather sudden, but still implored Senshi to take her into his care or otherwise she would be forced into an orphanage
- thinking of Gillin, and with the wound of his crew’s death still in his mind Senshi, perhaps impulsively, agrees to take Izutsumi in, much to Maizuru’s delight and thankfulness
- the next day, she returns with Izutsumi and her things and tells Senshi that she will handle most of the legal paperwork aside from the few forms that he will have to sign
- from that point onward, he took care of Izutsumi and made sure she got through school, although she wasn’t completely responsive and obedient, he was still very patient and understanding with her, except for the first few times she would keep on running away from school to join him for his lunch breaks
- they have a very trusting relationship with one another, and Senshi is the only one Izutsumi will open up to, Senshi often encouraged her talent of athleticism by signing her up for various sports, he was and still is very attentive towards her needs and is always feeding her the things she likes (and dislikes)
- Senshi works at the restaurant for another 9 years, simultaneously saving up for his own restaurant and saving for Izutsumi’s college, at age 45 he meets Chilchuck during the construction of his restaurant and they form a close friendship
- subsequently, he is introduced to Marcille, Fallin, Laios, and even Kabru, but still mostly interacts with Chilchuck and Itsuzumi
- however he is quite close with Laios since he works as a server at his restaurant and is very enthusiastic about his cooking technique, flavour pallet, and types of dishes he serves
- at age 49, he officially opens his restaurant and starts dating Chilchuck, the three of them all move in together and become a household unit
- is now very happy with where he is at in life, works and manages his restaurant while still making time for Izutsumi and her hobbies, is very close with Chilchuck and becomes the first person he opens up to about his past and what he went through, generally the grossest and most sappiest old couple you will ever meet
- made a Senshi-sized hole deep into the fabric of Chilchuck’s home, converting his backyard into a full vegetable and flower garden that he maintains, is super proud about it and often leaves the prettiest flowers on Chilchuck’s side of the bed or in a vase on Izutsumi’s bedside table
- head-chef and owner of his restaurant, his favourite part is being able to cook what he wants for a very specific audience (people like Laios)
- his food is not super high-end but also not like a family diner either, a healthy mix of both, like kid friendly while still being classy and opulent enough to take someone out on a date there
- drives his beloved suzuki carry to and from work every day, does a good job maintaining it on his own despite it being boring according to him
- I honestly don’t really know what Senshi would listen to, I feel like the most in character for him would be folk music from his home country or bossa nova i can’t really decide
- coffee with lots of sugar but no cream or milk, prefers drinking black tea with milk and honey if he has a choice
- bag is a basic backpack with minimal items like wallet, keys, lipbalm, mints, etc
always has a change of clothes in case his gets dirty at work, also has extra hair and beard nets, some stuff for Izutsumi is in there too
- water bottle is also a vintage stanley cup, but his is wayyy more dented than Chilchuck’s and older (from like the 50s) refuses to buy anything else until it is unusable, has had the same piece of duct tape sealing a leak near the bottom for the past 20 years
- also can’t decide if he’s a t-shirt or Hawaiian shirt kind of guy, probably a healthy mix of both, also mostly wears shorts or a kilt-like garment native to his home country, lives exclusively in sandals you will never find him in close-toed shoes unless he’s working
- funny story deriving from this fact, the first impression Chilchuck ever had of Senshi (aside from “damn he’s kinda hot”) was “oh my god how the fuck is this guy not dead” due to the fact that Senshi showed up to the construction sight with flip flops, no safety helmet, and no safety vest on whatsoever
- more to add when I think of it
‱ Izutsumi (still a cat-girl in this universe)
- currently 17 and living with Senshi and Chilchuck
- used to live with the Nakamoto’s as a foster child, however hated living there due to the unfamiliarity and attempts at sweeping her past trauma under the rug and refusing to treat her for it
- life before the Nakamoto’s is fuzzy, it’s implied by her councillor and confirmed by Maizuru later on that she was raised by her mother until she died or abandoned her at 3 years old, was then placed into the care of another foster home who physically and verbally abused her, keeping her chained up in the basement most of the day and hardly feeding her, if not forgetting about her all together
- she was taken in by the Nakamoto’s at aged 4, and had a very hard time managing her due to her stunted social skills, anger issues, and delayed language development manifesting itself in avoidance behaviours such as running away and lashing out violently
- had frequent nightmares during this time, resulting in her becoming very clingy during the night
- would often run away to the green belt close to her house, the same green belt that was connected to Senshi’s restaurant
- initially only approached him because of the smell of food, her prior abuse and malnutrition resulted in an early form of binge eating, so she often sought any sight, smell, or taste food as a way of safety and comfort
- unlike all her previous caretakers, she found Senshi to not be malicious or uncaring towards her, especially after he started sharing and bringing food for her, her ease around him didn’t go unnoticed by Maizuru who then offered Senshi the deal to take care of her
- initially hated living in Senshi’s condo since the small space reminded her of the basement she was kept in, but soon found it to be much more comfortable if she could smell the food Senshi would make
- Received counselling for her trauma and slowly began to get better, however she would still frequently act out or skip school as a coping mechanism, however, Senshi helped her regulate her energy and emotions through signing her up for various sports, she did volleyball, hockey, wrestling, swimming, etc
until she settled on gymnastics and Muay Thai
- has somewhat of a complex towards love and attachment, in that she doesn’t fully believe an individual cares for her or loves her so will often do whatever she likes both because she doesn’t think it affects the other person that much and because it will prevent people from wanting to get close to her and have a meaningful relationship, a complex that stems from her past abuse
- is now in a much better headspace than she was in, as she has two caretakers who are patient and understanding with her, but are also willing to discipline her and prepare her for the outside world, she also has a good external support system and even a friend at school whom she often hangs out with
- she is currently in her junior year of high school, with decent grades, but only because Senshi and Chilchuck want her to do well so she has more options for university
- her best subjects are science, phsy ed., english, has a hard time with social studies and math
- her one friend her age is Tade as they both are frequently sent to the after-school homework program to help improve their grades, Izutsumi is usually good at shouldering off her homework to her in exchange for ice cream or food, but she’s usually caught and forced to do double the work
- Tade is also a foster kid of the Nakamoto’s, in fact she was the one Izutsumi would usually go to sleep with if she had a nightmare, so they never hang out at her house and either stay at Izutsumi’s house or hang out at the local park/mall
- is very talented athletically, and has won multiple awards at gymnastics and Muay Thai competitions
- still a ravenous eater, but with a crazy fast metabolism so she gains almost no weight, still picky with vegetables and mushrooms but will still eat them as long as their hidden in her food well enough
- coffee flavoured milk drinker, if there’s even a hint of bitterness in her coffee she’s throwing it out
- is into most old alternative or indie rock, appreciates Chilchuck’s taste in music immensely, she’s been learning how to play the bass recently
- has been learning basic recipes from Senshi and can manage a few dishes on her own, is much better at baking overall, never leave her alone with the blowtorch or barbecue though
- aside from sports, she enjoys playing video games and sleeping, she likes mostly storytelling or competitive console games like Skyrim, God of War, and Call of Duty
- bag is a simple black backpack that has all of her papers and textbooks haphazardly shoved in with no regard for neatness or organization, on a good day a pencil will be in there too
- water bottle is non-existent, she uses drinks from the school water fountain as an excuse to get out of class and wander around for a bit
- is old enough to drive and has her license, but doesn’t have her own car yet and still has to catch the bus, if she does drive it’s Senshi’s suzuki, Chilchuck let her drive his land rover once and she backed into a pole
- lives in crop tops and shorts, is actually quite fashionable but doesn’t have the energy or motivation to pull anything off, either wears converse, slides, crocs, or doc martens as footwear, most would describe her style as grunge-ish
- makeup is hit or miss, sometimes she can muster some concealer and eyeliner, but for the most part she just washes her face and nothing else, she is big into jewelry though and likes to wear lots of accessories
- has been allowed to pierce her ears quite extensively, as well as her nose, however both Senshi and Chilchuck have drawn the line at any other face piercings until she’s an adult, much to her dismay
- outside of Senshi, Chilchuck, and Tade, she is probably the most friendly with Marcille and Fallin as they frequently visit and interact with her, Marcille especially loves to spoil Izutsumi with treats and gifts since she never had a little cousin growing up
- Izutsumi likes Fallin for her quietness and ability to keep out of her business, however saw first hand how weird she can be when she held up a massive rhinoceros beetle without even flinching, also when she kept on excusing herself to their backyard to go snack on their strawberry plants
- Laios and Kabru she knows of, also finds Laios to be very weird but is less friendly about it than she is with Fallin, his lack of understanding of social cues also confuses her
- more to add when I think of it
AND THATS IT!!! This was stupidly long, I hope I didn’t bore you to death lol. I’ll probably do another one of these so I can include Chilchuck’s daughters, Kabru, Namari, etc
maybe with some additions to the main cast, but yeah that’s about the extend of it, hope you enjoyed :3

Home for the Holidays Ch.1

Summary: Your family didn't take your coming out well....and instead of spending the holiday alone you join your roommate for Christmas dinner. While Aemond wishes you set your sights on his sister Helaena, your tastes skew much older.
A/N: This is a modern!au milf Alicent x milf lover f!reader. It was supposed to be finished last December lol. It got really long so I broke it into two chapters. It will be smutty, so read with caution if that’s not your thing! Not really smut in part one though.
A/N pt. 2: In this story two of Alicent’s cousins are her older brothers and Baela is not Helaena’s cousin. Not canon compliant.
You knew the holidays were going to be rough this year but had not anticipated just how hard seeing pictures of your family in St. Barts without you would be.
They had not taken your coming out well.
Sure they had promised to keep paying the tuition to your very expensive university until you graduated but that did little to soothe the hurt that their disapproval caused. Your family came from old money, some of the oldest of old in the country, and with that came old ways of thinking. They didn't care that you were gay, plenty of people in your extended family were some form of fruit, but they all stayed in the closet- at least publicly. That was what your family wanted for you as well. Anything to not tarnish their image.
But you couldn't live that way any longer. You wanted to be free.
To your surprise, only your estranged cousin Elia had accepted and even celebrated your coming out of the closet.
Thankfully you had Aemond. The two of you had met in freshman history class. He argued with the professor over every historical inconsistency in his lectures and it drove the professor mad. It made you laugh though. Aemond also came from old money, so the two of you bonded over the pressures that came from families that expected you to be perfect. Sophomore year the two of you moved into an apartment off campus, and your friendship only grew from there.
Aemond was your best friend, and you could not have asked for a better one. Aemond invited you to spend the holiday with his family. He didn’t love spending time with his family as they could be quite a lot but he always went for his mother’s sake.
You figured it beat spending Christmas alone in your flat.
So you got dressed in your very best and sat in the passenger seat of Aemond’s Porsche the whole drive to Oldtown.
-
Aemond popped another piece of gum into his mouth. “This will be a great opportunity for you and Helaena to bond,” he said as he chewed.
You rolled your eyes. “Not this again.”
Aemond smiled mischievously. “Come on (y/n). You can’t tell me you didn’t feel a connection when she came to visit on my birthday.”
“I can, and I am. She’s not a lesbian Aemond,” you replied.
Aemond was convinced that his sister Helaena was a lesbian. His evidence was that she never had a boyfriend, attended an all women's university, majored in Women’s studies, and only brought home girl best friends for the holidays.
“She talked to you that night, which cannot be said for many other people. Helaena is very selective with who she talks to. You even made her laugh (y/n)! I saw the sparks,” Aemond argued.
You sighed and shook your head. “Even if your sister was by some miracle into women, which I want to firmly state for the record that she is not, she’s simply not my type.”
The light turned red and Aemond’s car pulled to a smooth stop at the intersection. He turned to you.
“You don’t have a type. I’ve seen you bring all types of women home (y/n).”
You smirked. “Ever notice they weren’t at all our age.”
Aemond furrowed his brows. “So your type is older women?”
You nodded. “Yeah, like your mom for example.”
Aemond frowned. “Dude not that again!”
You laughed. “It’s not my fault your mom is a total milf.”
The light turned green. Aemond focused on the road once more. His face contorted in disgust.
“Ugh, yeah you and my mother are not something I’d like to picture.”
You let out another laugh. “Well I certainly have.”
This time Aemond let out a small chuckle. “Do you have the hots for my mother (y/n)? Is that why you said yes to joining us for Christmas?”
You shrugged. “Maybe I do, and maybe it is.”
Aemond chuckled again. “Well if you can make my white, Anglo-saxon, catholic mother do anything untoward this weekend I’ll spend the first two months of the new year cleaning the bathroom every weekend.”
Another red light. The car came to a stop.
You turned to Aemond and put your hand out.
“Deal.”
Aemond turned to you and shook his head. “I was joking.”
“I am not," you replied with a cheeky smile.
“Fine, deal,” Aemond said and shook your hand.
The light turned green. Aemond sped off once more.
You sat back in your seat thinking of Aemond’s mother, Alicent. You had only met her via Facetime when she called to check in on Aemond.
She was a certified smokeshow.
Alicent was beautiful and always held herself with poise. She was dressed impeccably in every photo of her online you could find when you first cyber-stalked her.
She had lost her husband, Aemond’s father, three years ago.
Aemond always skirted around the topic of his father. His father, from what you knew, had never really cared for Aemond and his siblings.
Viserys Targaryen was in his second term as the state's governor when he passed away. The Targaryens were political legends in your state. Many of their family members had been mayors, governors, state senators, and they had even managed to have an ancestor in the oval office.
Aemond’s father had always favored his only daughter from his first marriage, Rhaenyra. He had poised her to be the city’s mayor but his death led to a falling out within Aemond’s family. According to Aemond, they had never gotten along with Rhaenyra and her family but they had been cordial while Viserys lived.
When he died, Rhaenyra (who according to Aemond saw his mother as nothing but a gold digging whore) fought Alicent on every asset Viserys owned and vowed to leave Alicent penniless.
Thankfully Aemond’s mother had her family by her side. The Hightowers of Oldtown were an even older political force to be reckoned with. Their wealth dated back to the very founding of the nation.
Aemond’s grandfather, Otto Hightower, had squandered his own inheritance as a young man. It was rumored his family had cut him off and left him to his own devices after he gambled his money away. So Aemond’s mother had grown up having to make a lot of things happen on her own as they didn’t have their family’s backing for most of her life.
It wasn’t until Alicent married Viserys that the Hightowers welcomed Otto, Alicent, and her brothers back into the family fold.
So when Viserys died Alicent had the army of Hightower family lawyers on her side. Alicent managed to win several of Viserys’ homes and the money the prenup she had signed promised her.
Aemond never really spoke of his father, and when he did it was without warmth or love. So you often wondered if this was how all his family felt or if it was just him. You figured you would soon find out.
-
Aemond pulled up in front of the massive estate.
You got out of the car and marveled at the impressive family home. It wasn’t bigger than the one your family owned but it did look older and felt more imposing.
The estate was decorated from top to bottom in Christmas decor. It was done tastefully, the lights and decor didn’t look tacky, but it certainly conveyed a love for the holiday not many others shared by the look of the estates Aemond had passed by on the drive up.
Aemond popped the truck of the car open and took out his overnight bag. Then he took a deep breath and walked towards you.
“Say the word and we can still go back to the flat,” he joked.
You raised your brows and gave him a sideways look. “And do what? Eat Chinese take out and get drunk?”
Aemond smiled. “That sounds class to me.”
You laughed and shook your head.
“Aemond," said a voice that sounded as sweet as honey and as light as the morning sun.
You and Aemond turned your heads towards the estate.
Aemond’s mother stood at the door. She smiled brightly and waved.
Gods she’s even more beautiful in person, you thought.
Aemond put his hand on your shoulder. “Let’s get this over with then.”
You and Aemond walked up to the door.
Aemond’s mother turned to you and gave you a hug.
“It’s lovely to finally see you in person (y/n)," Alicent said as she politely embraced you.
You were surprised but you quickly recovered and returned the embrace. You noted how warm she felt.
“It’s a pleasure Mrs. Targaryen.”
Alicent pulled away and waved her hand dismissively. “Oh none of that. Call me Alicent,” she said with a smile.
You nodded. “If you insist, Alicent.”
She let out a polite laugh then turned her attention to Aemond. She wrapped her arms around her son. “I’ve missed you so much my little dragon,” she cooed.
Aemond blushed as he pulled away from his mother.
“Mom,” he chided.
Alicent laughed. “What? I can’t call you my little dragon anymore?”
You laughed and turned to Aemond. “Little dragon?”
Alicent turned to you. “He used to love running around pretending he was a dragon when he was a boy.”
You reached out and pinched Aemond’s now rosy cheek. “How cute, little dragon.”
Aemond swatted your hand away. “That only happened when I was seven and it’s because the dragon is on our family crest.”
“If it makes you feel better my nickname used to be baby cabbage in our mother tongue," you revealed, hoping to lessen Aemond's embarrassment.
Alicent laughed. “Why baby cabbage?”
You blushed under her gaze. “I was a very chubby baby.”
“How darling,” Alicent quipped.
Butterflies fluttered in your chest at the compliment. Out of the corner of your eye you noticed Aemond staring at you.
He cleared his throat and pulled his mother’s gaze away from you. “Let’s go inside, it’s bitterly cold out.”
Alicent nodded. “Of course come on in. Aegon is already up in his room. Helaena and her friend should be getting in any minute now.”
Alicent stepped aside and Aemond walked inside.
You followed after him and felt the butterflies in your chest multiply when you caught Alicent looking you over from head to toe with a small smile on her face.
-
Aemond and Aegon decided to smoke a joint before dinner.
You weren’t against it but didn’t care to partake so you wandered downstairs and figured you’d ask Alicent if she needed any help with dinner.
You knocked on the wall of the kitchen entryway.
Alicent was stirring something in the saucepan but looked up when she heard you knock. She smiled.
Butterflies filled your chest once more.
“Hi there,” she said.
You shoved your hands in the pockets of your jeans. Your palms had already started to sweat and you hadn't even spoken yet.
“Hi...Uh I was wondering if you needed help with anything?”
Alicent waved you off. “You’re a guest (y/n). I could never ask you to do anything,” Alicent protested.
You stepped closer and leaned against the counter next to the stove. “Then it’s a great thing I’m asking you. Really, I want to help out,” you insisted.
Alicent let out a small laugh. “Okay, you can stir this gravy while I check on the roast.”
You stepped up to the stove and took over the stirring.
Alicent went to the oven that was inlaid on the side of the stove, and took a look at the roast.
“Did you decorate or did you hire someone to decorate your home?”
Alicent stuck a meat thermometer in the roast and turned her head towards you. “Depends, do you think it’s too much?”
You smiled. “Of course not. It’s beautifully done.”
Alicent brightened at the compliment. “Then it was all me,” she beamed.
“Do you always go all out on the holidays?”
Alicent placed the roast back on its rack and closed the oven door. “Just Christmas. It’s my favorite holiday because I finally have my family all under one roof again."
She took her oven mitts off.
You continued to stir the gravy. “Well I hope it’s okay that you have a stray joining you at the table this year."
Alicent approached the stove once more.“It’s Christmas, the more the merrier.”
Then Alicent reached out for the spoon. You went to hand it off.
But then your hand met hers.
You didn’t move, and neither did Alicent.
She met your gaze.
You were too scared to even breathe. It felt as though if you moved even an inch the spell that kept her eyes on you would break.
But it broke anyway.
Alicent cleared her throat and looked away.
You let go of the spoon.
Alicent grabbed the spoon and resumed stirring. With her free hand she lowered the heat of the flame. “Besides, I’ll have two stays. Helaena is bringing a friend from school," she said, as though your brief moment of intense something had never happened.
You took a step back and leaned on the counter. “Right, you mentioned that before. Do you know much about her?”
Alicent continued to stir. She did not meet your gaze. “Not really. Helaena doesn’t share much about her college life with me. All I know is that her name is Baela, and that they’re spending Christmas day with her family.”
You raised your eyebrows slightly. Was Aemond right about his sister being into women?
Alicent noticed. “Why’d you make that face?”
“Oh, it’s nothing. It’s just something stupid Aemond said," your face suddenly felt warmer.
Now it was Alicent who raised her eyebrows in intrigue. “What is it?”
You bit the inside of your cheek, unsure if Aemond would mind you sharing his thoughts with his mother.
Alicent noted your apprehension. “I won’t tell Aemond you mentioned anything.”
You looked into Alicent’s eyes. They were a deep and rich brown. They were comforting. You realized that with eyes like that you would tell her anything she wanted. But her gaze was too hot so you swallowed hard and looked away from her when you told her what Aemond had said.
“He thinks Helaena is gay, and is obsessed with getting her and I together. I’m ninety percent sure that’s the sole reason he invited me over today.”
Alicent stopped stirring and stared at you.“Gay? Why does he think Helaena is gay?”
You shrugged.
Alicent placed a hand on her hip. "I think you do know."
You dared look up. Alicent's attention was fully focused on you. You felt your stomach in your throat but you spoke anyway.
“According to Aemond, Helaena never expresses interest in men or in dating a man, only talks about women she admires, attends a historically women’s college and majors in women’s studies, and finally that she only ever brings girls home on the holidays.”
Alicent chuckled and went back to stirring the gravy. “Oh gods. You know I’ve never known why kids today still hang onto outdated stereotypes about sexuality. I was the very same at Helaena’s age, she’ll grow out of it when she meets her future husband. I know I did.”
You pushed yourself onto the counter and sat down, intrigued at the revelation of Alicent's past.
“You were a women’s studies major at an all girl college?”
Alicent tilted her head to the side.“Sort of. I majored in English literature at Vassar, and I only ever brought my girl friends home for the holidays. Until I met my late husband of course.”
Aemond had never told you that his mother had gone to an all women’s university or that she had a BA in English Lit. It piqued your interest. You needed to know more.
“How did you meet him?”
Alicent returned her gaze to the stove and brought the heat of the burner even lower. “My father introduced us. He was Viserys’ chief of staff in his first term.”
You knew there had been an age difference between them but had not imagined it was that big.
“Interesting...”
Alicent didn’t reply but she glanced over at you.
You hopped off the counter, awkward with the sudden silence. “What else can I help with?”
Alicent smiled softly. “You really don’t have to (y/n).”
You shook your head. “I insist. Have you set the table? If not I would be more than happy to do so.”
Alicent turned the heat off and moved the sauce pot to a different burner. She looked up at you. “I laid everything out but I haven’t set it up.”
You clapped your hands together. “Consider it done.”
Then you raised your hand to your forehead and gave Alicent a mock salute.
Alicent laughed.
-
You set the table as you had always been taught to. Spoons and knives on the right and forks on the left.
Then, just as you were almost done setting the table you realized the salad forks were missing.
You double checked the pile where Alicent had left everything, hoping they were under a napkin and you had simply missed them. But no dice. They weren’t there.
So you walked back to the kitchen.
Alicent was now working on the salad she planned to serve. She looked up when you entered the kitchen, a smile on her face. It seemed like she always had a smile ready for you.
You smiled back, it was instinct around her. “Hey uhm- I’m almost done setting the table but I realized the salad forks are missing. I can’t find them.”
Alicent furrowed her brow. “Really? I could have sworn I set them out with the rest.”
She grabbed a nearby paper towel and wiped her hands of any residue.
Then she exited the kitchen and walked towards her china hutch.
You watched her from the kitchen entryway.
While you waited for Alicent to find the forks you looked about the room. When you looked up you realized someone had hung mistletoe over the entryway.
You smiled.
Alicent walked to you, forks in hand. She stopped at the entryway. “I’m so sorry I forgot to set them out with the rest.”
She handed the forks over to you.
You reached out to take them and for a brief minute your hands met hers, once again.
Your gaze met hers. “Don’t apologize. I honestly don’t know how you’re doing all the cooking and decorating all on your own. Aemond and I were barely able to put a tree up.”
Alicent smiled. She didn’t pull away this time. “You’re too sweet (y/n).”
You returned her smile. Your cheeks were starting to hurt but you wouldn't dare not smile back. “I do have to ask you something," you said, emboldened by the continued contact with Alicent.
Alicent raised a brow. “Ask me something?”
You nodded slightly then continued. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen mistletoe hung in the entryway of a kitchen before.”
Alicent’s brow furrowed. “Mistletoe?”
You looked up. Alicent followed your gaze.
Her eyes widened a bit when she noticed the mistletoe. “Oh I- That Aegon,” she cursed.
You looked back down at her and laughed.
Alicent met your gaze once more, blush filled her cheeks.
Then she pulled her hands away from yours.
You took the forks and held them against you. “It's quite a funny placement isn't it?"
Alicent walked past you, back to her salad preparations.
“Oh yeah? How so,” Alicent replied, busying herself with her salad to avoid looking at you.
“It reminds me of the old saying, love the meal and kiss the chef."
Alicent stopped chopping the greens and looked over at you. She let out a small laugh. “Is that a saying? I don't think I've heard it before."
You shrugged. “I swear I've heard it before, somewhere...Well if it's not it should be."
Alicent shook her head, the smile still on her face. “Let’s see if you still want to kiss the chef after you’ve had my cooking.”
Butterflies filled your chest. You stood up a little straighter. “Deal.”
Alicent turned to you once more, her eyebrows raised.
You twirled around and walked back to the dining room. You could feel Alicent’s eyes on you as you walked away.
-
You finished setting the table.
Then you stepped back and admired your work.
You hoped Alicent would like it. So you turned to head back to the kitchen but stopped in the hall when you heard the doorbell ring.
You turned to open it but Aemond beat you to it.
“Sister,” Aemond said and reached out to hug a familiar blonde.
Alicent walked out of the kitchen and went to the door.
Helaena let go of Aemond and turned to her mother. Alicent wrapped Helaena in another hug.
Behind her, a silver haired girl stood awkwardly in the doorway.
Helaena pulled away from her mom and stepped back to the silver haired girl’s side. She slid her hand in the girl’s. “Mom, Aemond, this is my best friend Baela.”
Alicent stepped forward and stuck her hand out. “It’s a pleasure to meet you Baela.”
Baela shook Alicent’s hand. “Thank you for having me over Mrs. Targaryen. Helaena has told me so much about you all.”
Alicent laughed lightheartedly. “All good things I hope.”
You took note that she didn’t ask Baela to call her Alicent.
Aemond gave Baela a polite nod. “Welcome Baela.”
Baela smiled at him. “Thank you Aemond.”
Then Aemond noticed you standing in the hall and he waved you over. You approached them with a smile.
Aemond went to your side and put his arm around your shoulders. “Helaena look who’s joining us tonight.”
Helaena smiled when she turned to face you. “(y/n), it’s nice to see you again.” She stepped forward and gave you a hug.
Aemond dropped his arm and stepped away from the both of you.
You returned Helaena’s hug. Out of the corner of your eye, you noticed Aemond giving you a knowing smirk.
Helaena pulled away and held you at arm’s length. “I’m so happy you’re joining us for dinner.”
“As am I,” you replied.
Helaena gave your arms a squeeze before she stepped back to Baela’s side.
You stuck your hand out to Baela. “Nice to meet you. I’m Aemond’s friend (y/n).”
Baela shook your hand warmly. “Nice to meet you as well.”
Then Baela stepped back and Helaena looped her arm around Baela’s.
“We’ll be upstairs in my room. Let us know when dinner is ready,” Helaena said before she and Baela started up the stairs.
“Okay,” Alicent said as she watched them leave. Then she turned to you and Aemond.
“Do you need any more help,” you asked Alicent.
Alicent shook her head. “You’ve been a tremendous help. Please go have fun.”
Aemond put his arm around your shoulders once more. “Let’s go play some video games on Aegon’s new system.”
Aemond led you to the stairs.
You craned your head back to look at Alicent. “If you need any more help just let me know! I’d be more than happy to.”
Alicent gave you another smile. “I will.”
Then she walked back into the kitchen and you followed Aemond up the stairs.
-
After about an hour of playing mario party with Aemond and Aegon (who you didn’t much care for because he could be crass but he had never been improper towards you so you didn’t mind him much) you heard the doorbell ring.
“That will be grandfather,” Aemond said with a sigh.
Aegon slumped down in his gaming chair on the ground. “I don’t want to go down.”
Aemond clapped a hand on his brother’s shoulder. “Sooner we go say hello the sooner we can say goodbye.”
Aegon groaned.
You turned to Aemond. “Oh come on, your grandpa can’t be that bad.”
Aegon looked at you with an incredulous expression. “You have no idea."
Then you all stood and made your way to the entrance.
You trailed behind the boys.
You saw Alicent at the door with an older man who you figured was her father, and three younger men who greeted Alicent with smiles and hugs. You figured they were her brothers.
Aemond had told you he had three uncles on his mother’s side. He hadn’t mentioned much about them other than they were all still bachelors, which to you spoke volumes about them as two looked older than Alicent and only one looked younger than her.
The older man turned to Aegon and Aemond, who were now at the door.
“Boys,“ the man cheered before greeting each one with a hug and heavy pat on the back.
Aemond returned the hug while Aegon went limp in his grandfather’s arms. Then their uncles greeted each one.
You noticed that Alicent had straightened her posture and kept a more neutral expression. She greeted her father and sibling politely, with none of the warmth of earlier greetings.
There was a lot that you didn’t know about Alicent and her family but you figured it was not all rainbows and sunshine by the change in her demeanor.
“You got here just in time father. Dinner is ready and served,” Alicent proclaimed.
Her father nodded. “Very good timing Alicent.”
Then Alicent turned to Aemond. “Would you tell the girls it’s dinner time?”
Aemond nodded. Then he sped back up the stairs. He reached you and started to tell you but you told him you had heard.
So he left you and went to tell Helaena and Baela.
You made your way down the staircase and to the dining room.
Alicent’s father and brothers seated themselves. Her father sat at the head of the table and insisted Aegon sit on the other end. Aegon did not protest.
Alicent came out of the kitchen with the salad she prepared in her arms.
You went to her side. “Do you need any help bringing out the food?”
Alicent gave you a half smile. “It’s alright (y/n). I’ve set it all on the table. You just sit down and enjoy.“
You nodded and followed Alicent into the dining room. You sat down on the empty side of the table. You introduced yourself to Alicent’s family as you sat down. They all gave you various levels of appropriate greetings.
Thankfully Aemond, Helaena and Baela came in and sat down next to you. Aemond sat to your right, beside his grandfather, and Helaena to your left. Baela sat on her left, with Aegon on Baela’s left. Opposite you sat Alicent. To her left sat her brother Gwayne (as he had introduced himself to you), beside his father. To Alicent’s right sat her brothers Lyonel and Martyn.
You took in the sight of the absolute feast that was before you. “This all looks delicious, Alicent,” you said without thinking.
Alicent gave you a small smile, blush tinting her cheeks once again. “Thank you (y/n). You’re too kind.”
Her father, Otto as you now knew him, let out an indifferent huff. “The roast looks a bit overdone. How long did you leave it in for,” he remarked.
Alicent’s smile fell from her face. She looked down at her hands. “I followed mother’s recipe to the letter father.”
Otto let out another huff. “We’ll see about that.”
Alicent frowned.
Your focus was pulled away from them when Aemond gently ribbed you with his elbow.
“You’ve got the perfect seat to talk to Helaena,” he whispered.
You turned your head slightly to get a better look at Helaena. She was too busy chatting with Baela to even notice you.
You turned back to Aemond. “It’s not happening Aemond.”
Aemond frowned then turned his attention to his grandfather.
Otto rose from his seat and tapped his wine glass with a fork, calling everyone’s attention.
“It warms my heart to see the family gathered for another Christmas. A man’s true wealth can be measured by the strength of his family...and the strength of his business. I am pleased to announce that your uncle Ormund has set up a donor fund for Aegon’s first mayoral campaign.”
Alicent’s brothers clapped and cheered for Aegon. Alicent clapped softly and gave Aegon a sympathetic look.
Aegon’s face turned a sickly pale color. He didn’t meet his grandfather’s gaze.
You had a feeling this was the first Aegon was hearing of his mayoral candidacy.
Otto raised his glass. “To Aegon, first stop the mayor of Oldtown, last stop the president’s office.”
“Huzzah,” Martyn cheered.
You raised your glass alongside the rest purely out of propriety. Everyone could tell by the look on Aegon’s face this was the last thing he wanted.
You turned to look at Alicent who had guilt written all over her face. Your heart softened.
Otto set his glass down after taking a drink. Then he grabbed the carving knife and fork and got to work on the roast.
-
The meal was going well. Until of course Alicent’s family set their attention towards you.
Lyonel, Alicent’s eldest brother, turned towards you. “So (y/n), what’s your family do?”
Martyn nodded. “Yeah your name sounds familiar.”
You took a quick sip of your wine before you replied. “My family are mainly philanthropists now but our family used to own the majority of the railways in the country,” you confessed.
“That’s right, (y/l/n) rail,” Otto chimed in.
“Yes sir, but my father is focused on tech philanthropy now.” Below the table your palms started to sweat. Talking with Otto Hightower felt a lot like speaking with your grandfather as a child. They both had very imposing auras.
“A pity,” Martyn responded as he shoveled another piece of roast into his mouth.
Alicent whipped her head towards her brother. “Martyn,” Alicent chided.
Martyn shrugged. “What? Her family used to be major players in the nation.”
Lyonel nodded, agreeing with his brother. But he didn’t stop there. “So why aren’t you spending Christmas with them?”
You dug your fingers into the palms of your hands. You felt like something was stabbing the inside of your throat.
Thankfully,  Alicent and Aemond came to your aid. “Lyonel,” Alicent reprimanded.
Then she turned to you. “You don’t have to answer that (y/n). Please forgive my brothers.”
Aemond nodded. “Yeah (y/n) you don’t have to engage my troublesome uncles.”
Lyonel and Martyn rolled their eyes.
Otto was silent but his piercing gaze remained on you.
You swallowed hard before you put on a polite smile. You looked at Aemond then at Alicent. “It’s alright,” you assured them.
Then you turned to Alicent’s brothers.
“I came out to my family a few months ago and it's safe to say they don’t approve of my new ‘lifestyle’ as they call it.”
Lyonel’s face went red. Martyn looked away.
Internally, you smiled at the sight of them embarrassed.
Alicent’s voice pulled you back to the present. “They’ll come around eventually (y/n). The love a parent has for their child is immeasurable.”
You smiled at her. “I really hope you’re right.”
Gwayne, who had not said much all dinner, cleared his throat. All eyes turned to him.
He turned to Aemond. “So Aemond, how’s your fencing coming along?”
And just like that the pressure was off you and onto Aemond.
-
Many minutes later the meal came to a close.
The men whisked Aegon and Aemond outside to play ball, leaving only the women inside.
You, Alicent, Helaena, and Baela cleaned up the table.
Alicent and Baela made their way to the kitchen with the leftover food while you and Helaena stacked up a pile of dirty dishes.
Helaena looked over at you. “That was very brave of you,” she said.
You set the plate you had picked up down. “What was brave?”
Helaena stopped clearing the table. She turned to face you. “Telling everyone your family iced you out after you came out. Coming out to your family is incredibly brave, and you’re even braver for sharing that with practical strangers.”
You smiled and felt your face warm. You weren’t attracted to Helaena but she had an otherworldly presence that made any attention she gave you feel special. “Thank you Helaena.”
She reached out and squeezed your shoulder. “If you ever need to talk or need support, I’m here for you.”
You put your hand on top of hers. “Thank you.”
Then the two of you finished clearing the table.
-
You finished bringing the last of the dirty dishes into the kitchen.
Helaena trailed in after you and set her stack on the counter. “Mother, Baela and I will be in my room.”
Alicent nodded, up to her elbows in leftover food that she was trying to shove into various containers.
Baela and Helaena left the kitchen.
You turned to Alicent. “Do you need some help with that?”
Alicent struggled to secure the lid on the container as she had over packed it with food. Alicent shook her head. “I got it.”
You continued to watch her struggle. “I don’t think you do.”
Alicent stopped trying and stepped aside. “Okay then tough guy, you give it a go.”
You smiled and walked up to the counter. You pressed the lid down on all sides until you heard it click. It was secure.
Alicent clicked her tongue. "Lucky try."
You turned to her. “Always happy to help.”
Alicent took the container full of food and stacked it with the others. “You don’t have to hang around here (y/n). You can go see Aemond or Helaena.”
You furrowed your brows. “Helaena?”
Alicent turned to the fridge and started the game of stacking the leftovers. “Yes, I saw the two of you talking while you cleared the table. Perhaps Aemond was right after all. I’ve never seen Helaena take to someone new so quickly.”
“You were watching us," you asked, butterflies forming at the thought of Alicent spying on you.
“Why do you say it as if I was spying on you? I saw you from the window in the kitchen is all." She said with a lazy smile on her face.
“Right....We were just talking. Besides,Aemond is out playing sports with your brothers and father and I am not a sports fan. And I would hate to interrupt Helaena and Baela's alone time,” you joked.
Alicent chuckled. She turned to grab the rest of the leftovers from the counter.
You stepped forward and grabbed them. You handed them to her, one by one. “Besides, I like being in your company,” you confessed.
Alicent stopped arranging the leftovers and looked back at you. “Really?”
You nodded.
Alicent smiled shyly and returned her attention to the refrigerator. “I wish my own children felt the same. All but Aemond dodge my calls.”
You shrugged. “If you ever need anyone to talk to, I’m always free.”
Alicent turned to you and you handed her the final container of leftovers. “Thank you (y/n).”
Her fingers lingered over yours. Alicent looked down at them. She stared at them for a moment before biting her lip.
 “What’s your verdict?”
You furrowed your brows. “I’m sorry?”
Alicent looked up, and took the container from you. “About my food. Was it good enough to kiss the chef?”
Your face went hot. “Oh...uhm I-”
Alicent placed the container in the fridge then closed it. She turned back to you.
You were still too stunned to say anything.
So her smile fell and she shook her head. “Forget it, it was stupid.”
“No it’s not stupid I-," you stammered then cleared your throat. “I was just caught off guard is all.”
Alicent stared at you, not saying anything.
So you continued.
“The roast was cooked perfectly.”
Her smile returned. “Thank you (y/n).”
You stepped closer to her. “So I do believe I will kiss the chef after all.”
Alicent swallowed hard, not taking her gaze off you. “Oh,” she whispered.
You stood in front of her, and looked down at her lips. “May I?”
The last thing you wanted was for Alicent to feel uncomfortable or coerced. So you waited for her reply before doing anything else.
Alicent gave you an almost imperceptible nod.
You leaned in, at first determined to kiss her lips, but as you neared her skin you thought better of it.
She was just committing to the bit, you told yourself, she didn't actually want you to kiss her.
So you placed a gentle kiss on Alicent’s cheek, inches away from her lips but still in a chaste enough location.
You noticed a small frown spread across Alicent’s lips as you pulled away.
But it was quickly wiped away.
Alicent blushed furiously. She looked away from you.
You also felt your face warm.
You heard footsteps approach the kitchen. So you stepped away from Alicent and leaned on the counter.
Alicent must have also heard them as she busied herself with wiping down the stove top with a nearby rag.
Aemond appeared moments later. He looked between you and his mother, slightly suspicious, but then he shook his head and turned to you. “Aegon wants another couple rounds of Deadly Fighter 5. You up for it?”
You nodded. “Yeah, let’s go.”
Aemond turned and headed towards the hall.
You started after him but turned at the entryway of the kitchen. “It was a lovely meal, thank you.”
Alicent nodded, her cheeks still rosy. “Of course.”
Then you hurried after Aemond.
A part of you wished you had been brave enough to kiss Alicent on the lips.
You mashed various button combinations as your chosen fighter threw punches at Aemond’s chosen character on the tv screen.
He was currently beating you  in the second round.
Behind you, Aegon took a hit from his bong and blew it out in perfect circles.
“So let me get this right, you want to fuck our mom,” Aegon repeated.
You grimaced. “Why must you say it like that?”
Aemond’s character delivered the killing blow to you. You lost.
Aemond turned to you. “Aegon’s crudeness aside, he’s not wrong. I’ve seen the way you linger in the kitchen alone with her.”
You felt your face start to warm. You cleared your throat and tried your best to appear nonchalant.
“I didn’t want her to think I was a rude guest. No one else was helping her,” you argued.
Aegon took another hit before he spoke again. “You know, I always thought Mom was a lesbian,” he mused.
Aemond turned to him. “You did?”
Aegon nodded. “She never really liked Dad, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen or heard her call a man sexy.”
Aemond furrowed his brows. “Because Dad was a dick. Mother is a devout Catholic she would never call another man sexy. I don’t even think that word is in her vocabulary.”
You turned to Aemond. “Your arguments for why Heleana is gay are just as flimsy.”
Aegon turned to Aemond. “You think Helaena is gay?”
Aemond shrugged. “What else could she be? She’s definitely not into men.”
“She’s not into anything. She’s a freak like that,” Aegon said and laughed at his own joke.
Aemond threw a pillow at Aegon’s head.
It bumped Aegon’s head and knocked the bong out of his hands.
“Hey,” Aegon whined.
You and Aemond laughed.
-
An hour later, the time had arrived for you to leave.
You descended the stairs with Aegon and Aemond in tow.
At the bottom of the stairs Alicent was already saying goodbye to her father and brothers. She finished giving each a hug goodbye.
Then she noticed Aemond and Aegon. Alicent asked the boys to say goodbye to their grandfather and uncles.
Aegon and Aemond did as their mother asked and gave their family a hug goodbye.
Helaena and Baela came down the stairs and Helaena said goodbye to her grandfather and uncles.
Once they were gone, Helaena informed her mother it was time for her and Baela to leave.
Alicent gave Helaena a big hug. “I’ll miss you, my bug, she said as she gave Helaena a kiss on the forehead.
Then Alicent said goodbye to Baela, another handshake.
Baela and Helaena made their way out the door.
You were the last guest there.
Alicent and the boys looked towards you.
You dialed your cousin Elia once more. Once again you got the automated message the call could not be connected.
“I’m having some trouble with my cell. Could I use your landline?” You asked.
Aemond furrowed his brows. He turned to his mom. “Do we even have one?”
Alicent nodded. “Of course we do.” Then she turned to you. “It’s this way.”
She led you to a small alcove with the landline and a seat next to it at the end of the hall.
You thanked her and dialed Elia’s number once more.
This time you got through. It rang three times before she answered.
“Hello?”
“Elia, it’s (y/n). I’m calling from my friend’s landline. I couldn’t get through on my cell for some reason.”
You pressed the phone closer to your ear. There was a lot of background noise and you could not hear Elia very well.
“I tried to call you. I can’t make it out to pick you up. There’s been a freak snowstorm in Sunspear. They closed all the roads and aren’t letting anyone through. I’m so sorry kiddo,” Elia lamented.
Your heart sank.
One for the snow storm that was probably wreaking havoc in Sunspear. It was a town that almost never got anything besides sun.
And secondly because now you had no way to get back to your flat.
You swallowed hard before answering. “Stay safe Elia. Please call me with updates, okay?”
“You got it kiddo. Is there anyone else who can take you  home?”
“I’ll figure it out, Elia. Don’t worry about that,” you said.
The line started to fade in and out. Elia wished you a safe ride home and a merry Christmas.
You did the same then hung up.
Then you walked back to the entryway where Alicent, Aegon and Aemond stood.
You shoved your hands in your pockets. “Soo...a freak snowstorm hit Sunspear and Elia can’t pick me up.”
Alicent frowned. “Oh no, is she alright?”
You nodded. “Yeah she’s doing okay. Uhm, so I’ll try to call my family’s driver to see if he can make it out. It might take him an hour or two to drive from High Garden but I’m sure he won’t mind.”
Alicent shook her head and approached you. “Nonsense, you’ll stay the night with us and you can leave with Aemond tomorrow evening.”
She reached for your hands and held them. “Got it?”
You flushed. “I couldn’t possibly bother you all like that.“
“You are no bother (y/n). Now come on, let me show you to the guest bedroom.”
Then Alicent pulled you along the staircase and to the guest bedroom.
Aemond trailed behind the two of you.
-
Alicent led you to a beautiful room with ample space and a fireplace. She asked Aemond to start a fire as the room could get quite cold at night.
Aemond did so without protest and soon a fire roared in the hearth.
Then Alicent asked Aemond to fetch you a pair of his pajamas.
Again, Aemond did so without protest.
While Aemond was gone you turned to Alicent. “Are you sure this isn’t an imposition? I can still call the family driver.”
Alicent waved you off. “You’re staying and that’s final. You got it?”
You nodded. Her dominant tone ignited a flame of your own. “Thank you,” was all you could say without giving your desire away.
Aemond returned with a fresh pair of pajamas in hand. He gave them to you.
You thanked him.
Alicent clapped her hands together. “Wonderful, we will leave you to get settled. Breakfast is tomorrow at 9am.”
You nodded. “Got it.”
Alicent reached out and gave your shoulder a light squeeze. “Sleep well,” she said.
You smiled. “You as well.”
Then Alicent turned and left the room.
Aemond stepped forward. “We’ll try again with Helaena at New Years.”
You groaned. “Please, no more of that.”
Aemond chuckled. “We’ll see. Good night (y/n).”
“Good night Aemond,” you replied as you shook your head.
Aemond walked out and shut the door behind him.
Finally, you were alone.
You changed into the pajamas Aemond gave you and settled into the plush king sized bed. You closed your eyes and hoped sleep would come. You decided to think about Alicent, in hopes you dreamt of her.
You smiled.
-
Unfortunately, sleep did not come for you. You tossed and you turned.
All you could think of was how much fun your family was probably having without you in St. Barts.
Then you did the worst possible thing. You grabbed your phone from the nightstand and pulled up your mother’s facebook account.
She had already posted many photos of the family in St. Barts. They were smiling from ear to ear, tanned, and it seemed like no one cared you were not in any of the pictures.
Your mom made no mention of your absence in the text of the post and none of the comments (mostly your mom’s pta and book club friends) asked about your whereabouts.
You clicked through the many photos. It wasn’t until you clicked on the last photo that you lost it.
It was a picture of your whole family (minus you), with a caption that read, “Family time is the best time. So thankful to God for allowing the whole family to join us for this Christmas getaway.”
Tears welled in your eyes. They had completely erased you out of the family. You threw your phone across the room.
The tears fell from your eyes and stained your cheeks. You could not stop the sobbing that followed.
It was stupid. You were stupid.
You should not have been crying for a family that clearly did not want you. You wiped your tears and tried to calm yourself.
You struggled to do so but after a few minutes you were finally able to breathe normally again.
You got out of bed and crossed the room to where you had thrown your phone. Then you picked it up. It was a little busted but nothing cracked.
So you pocketed it and decided to go downstairs for a glass of water.
-
As you started towards the kitchen you noticed lights were on in the study down the opposite hall.
Aemond had briefly mentioned the study on the initial tour he had given you.
You wondered who else was up this late as it was well past 2am.
So you stepped closer. As you neared the study you started to hear small cries and sobs.
You got closer and tried to peer inside.
Thankfully the door was ajar enough that you saw who was inside.
It was Alicent.
The first thing you noticed was how low cut her nightgown was.
It was a beautiful sage green, and it hugged her body pretty tightly. Then your gaze traveled back to the low cut top of the nightgown. You knew it was wrong to stare but you wanted to take in just how stunning Alicent was.
You looked closer and noticed her nipples peeked through the fabric of the nightgown. You swallowed hard.
“Fuck,” you whispered.
Then Alicent sniffled and dabbed her eyes with a handkerchief.
You shook your head. She was clearly upset and there you were ogling her.
You stepped back and tried to leave.
But it was too late.
Alicent stood from her seat. “Who’s there?” She called out.
You didn’t reply. You were far enough away that you hoped by staying quiet she would drop it and you could leave.
You didn’t want to intrude on a clearly private moment.
“Come forward,” Alicent demanded.
You silently cursed yourself. You had no choice but to enter the study.

I wanna write this fic revolving around Jacob Frye as a character study, I’m thinking of placing him in 1960s England where crime rates were high and gangs were thriving.
What I had in mind is that the story kinda follows the beginning of syndicate, where Ethan died leaving his two early 20s children by themselves, they didn’t have any inheritance as I don’t imagine the Frye family to be wealthy (example was that Ethan was canonically a schoolmaster/teacher, during the Victorian era teachers, although considered honest due to their occupation, were placed in the lower or middle lower class depending on role, with Ethan being a teacher I would say he didn’t make a lot)
backstory: Evie was meant to be in university but she took a 3 year gap year when she was 18 due to her dad’s declining health and her wanting to be his caretaker, whilst Jacob went to university having to commute from Crawley to London but dropped out because he wanted to be with Evie
and he had horrible attendance and punctuality. Jacob worked full time since Ethan was out of commission and Evie was a full time carer, although the family did get some government aid (national assistance before that but Jacob didn’t want to be in a house with his father— daddy issues)
After Ethan died he didn’t have a lot to give to his children, so the twins sold his home and everything in it. Evie wanted to start fresh, Jacob would follow Evie wherever she goes. They were inseparable, womb mates afterall. She finally enrolled in university in London (idk which yet, probably kings or Greenwich
now I’m thinking Greenwich because of the green theme in syndicate)
Now, remember when I mentioned that Jacob was working full time? Yeah he was working full time as a boxer in cafe royal where you entertain rich people by fighting your gloves off— he also did illegal ring fighting, started young too. Due to London being a cesspool of crime activity and gangs, where wealth, reputation and suits now mattered, it was inevitable for Jacob to meet a few gang members or even leaders at times. He was good at what he did but he wasn’t ready to subject himself into a gang— he had Evie to care for after all, they only had each other now.
But Evie also began taking part time jobs to help as well, she felt like a burden to her twin who’s younger by four minutes (“it’s just four minutes,” Jacob shrugged once) with balancing schoolwork and work, she slowly burns herself out.
The overall problem was that Evie took out a loan to host a proper funeral for their dad AND for tuition, with that and the charge of interest she wants to work it off. Jacob gots himself in a small gang called “The Clinkers,” with doing small thing like being a courier or doing street-level enforcement, he was a good fighter. Not that strong but he fought dirty and without honour, making him dangerous and unpredictable in the ring.
But the clinkers were running themselves to the ground! The leader was doing a piss-poor job at handling with rival gangs especially the top dog Blighters. So Jacob hatched a plan to start a gang
for more money, for more reputation and for Evie
That’s currently all I got, this was heavily inspired by the movie “Gangster No.1” great movie, details London life and as a Londoner it’s surprising how accurate it was. The story would just be like
a process of Jacob being a gang leader. I’m not sure if there’s going to be romance. And to say, I do not ship rothfrye at all, hate that stuff but I can’t deny how Maxwell Roth and Jacob Frye’s interaction between each other benefits Jacob’s character development. But only that, nothing else.

I would love to know five facts about a hellcheer art school AU đŸ„°
several days later
1) I think Eddie would probably be a traditional media artist, like illustration. He would be working on his own graphic novel. Chrissy would be more into textiles and she’d tell her mother that she was going to school for fashion, but really she’s making a giant quilt of her mental health journey for the school exhibition 💕
2) Eddie would be paying for school by doing various odd jobs including posing for the art classes, playing guitar in a church’s band on Sundays, and working in a retirement home cafeteria. Chrissy volunteers at the retirement home for her scholarship program and she waits until class to tell Eddie that she noticed him: “you look much better without the hairnet.”
3) Obviously, Corroded Coffin still exist in this universe, and they play in a seedy bar with an alleyway entrance on Tuesday nights. It’s popular amongst the college kids, though, because happy hour is $2 drafts. Eddie finally gets the nerve to invite Chrissy to come see them play. She unfortunately has a panic attack in throngs of drunks and goes home. Eddie shows up to her apartment after the show with his guitar: “I believe I promised you a song.” He doesn’t even get to the chorus before Chrissy is in his arms.
4) Chrissy’s mom finds out she isn’t doing fashion design and is “wasting her life” on an art degree and stops paying for the other half of Chrissy’s tuition. Eddie gets her a job as a barback at the bar. Eventually, the bartender teaches her how to make drinks during the slow times and she gets a promotion. She demands they give Corroded Coffin the prime Friday night spot.
5) They eventually find a converted warehouse apartment and move in together in their senior year. Chrissy’s completed quilt hangs on their wall and Eddie has stacks of his comic book on the coffee table waiting to be sent off to publishers. They’re hosting Wayne for thanksgiving, nothing is going right, but they’re on the third bottle of wine and having a grand time. Wayne’s brought Eddie his grandmother’s wedding ring and it’s burning a hole in Eddie’s pocket, but he’s waiting until Christmas.
or at least the Macy’s day parade.
send more AUs, maybe?
