Happy Flag Day Honduras! 🇭🇳 This is the highest I brought your flag up to 14,530 ft (4,430 mts) above sea level at the Cueva Del Oso (Bear Cave) while hiking the Pichincha Volcano in Quito, Ecuador in February of 2020. • Basically I was at half way the height of Mount Everest. It was so beautiful and peaceful up there. Breathing became difficult and challenging. One wrong step and I’d be living in those clouds 👼🏼 • The city of Quito is visible in the background behind the clouds. At the American Museum of Natural History I found two exact replicas of Stela H and Stela A from the Mayan ruin complex of Copán in Honduras. These two stelae represent rulers of Copán and they’re carved in a tridimensional fashion that makes them some of the most beautifully carved stelae from any Mayan city giving Copán the nickname of the Athens of the Mayan World for the exquisite quality and detail of the stelae.
