My Top 5 Favourite EQG/MLP Askblogs (in no particular order)
-
1). @ariasarchives (Indefinite Hiatus)
I know I said that I don’t have a particular favorite, but I think AA takes the cake to be honest. This blog centers around Aria Blaze and the other two Dazzlings. Here, it basically follows thier everyday lives since they are not evil anymore, thier struggles and relationships with other people, platonic and romantic. Not to mention that they have kids and their trees are explored thoughout the story. It takes place 7 years after the battle of the bands.
The creator has stated that he’s uncertain if he will continue with the series, but for what it’s worth, it was a great run 👍
2). @sunsets-serenade (Still active)
What started off as a blog about Sunset and her everyday life is now a Sunata (Sunset x Sonata) themed story ^^ I’m a late follower to this blog, but from what I’ve seen from it so far, it’s a pretty interesting read. I’m neutral on the pair, but I’m also interested in the story. Unlike many EQG ask blogs these days, this one is still active, so that’s good in my opinion. And I hope to see more stories along the line.
3). @dusk-oceanos (Indefinite Hiatus)
For what very little it was, it was an interesting read and I wish there was more. The story basically starts with Sonata and her life without the other two dazzlings. Then suddenly, Aria comes back into her life. From there, the story basically focuses on Sonata and Aria mending things and talking about their kids and their pasts.
Like AA, this series is also on a indefinite hiatus. I wish I’ve seen more before it ended, but again for what it’s worth it was a good series while lasted.
4). @scisetdiary (Story is on a indefinite hiatus, but still active for art sometimes)
A Sciset story, in which it follows Sci Twi and Sunset’s relationship, lives and thier struggles. It also follows the life of their daughter, Sapphire Sparkle. This story also crosses over with AA.
This series had a good run, but unfortunately the creator ended it due to losing interest. It does saddens me, because it didn’t have a proper conclusion, but I understand completely. I’m just happy that it lasted as long as it did.
5). @ask-twigset (Status Unknown, most likely indefinite hiatus)
A SciSet themed blog that wasn’t active for too long, but had a lot of promise and potential. It basically takes place in college, where the two start dating.
Honorable Mentions
6). @ask-sunpie (Canceled)
A sunpie (sunset x pinkie pie) blog. From what I read, it takes place a few weeks after Sunset’s Backstage Pass. Sunset and Pinkie are dating and basically the series planned to have a couple of stories along the way. Unfortunately though, it was canceled and the mod plans to delete the blog. For what it’s worth, the blog really was interesting and was looking forward to more. I’m grateful for what they did do though 👍
7). @honeycrisp-tales (Still Active, but very slow)
A fun little blog about Cadence and Big Mac’s daughter in the EQG world, Honeycrisp. She also has a group of friends who are related to some of EQG’s characters, including Adagio being like another mother figure to her. It’s a fun little read ^^
-
I want to thank all of these mods for making my time in the EQG fandom rememberable with all of their creative stories with my favorite characters 🥲
Oh, one more thing! I also have a EQG blog about the adventures of Sonata Dusk, but it’s very inactive and I only post every once in a while when I have inspiration again 😅 However, if you want to check it out anyway, feel free to go to @ask-sonata-dusk !

In the heart of the bustling metropolis of Neos, Seraphina stood by the panoramic window of her high-rise apartment, her dark hair cascading in a high ponytail, adorned with a crimson ribbon that matched her sleek top. Her gold jewelry glinted in the morning sun, highlighting the intricate designs that seemed to whisper tales of ancient civilizations. The tattoo on her shoulder, a symbol of unity and strength, marked her as a member of the elite Geomancers' Guild.
Seraphina was not an ordinary citizen of Neos; she was a planetary geologist, a scientist who delved into the mysteries of distant planets, uncovering secrets buried beneath alien landscapes. Her latest assignment was to investigate the enigmatic planet Zathara, a world that had long captivated the imaginations of scientists and explorers alike.
Zathara was known for its unusual geological formations and the presence of a rare mineral, Xanthium, which was believed to have extraordinary properties. The mineral's unique crystalline structure had the potential to revolutionize energy storage and transmission, making it a highly sought-after resource.
As Seraphina prepared for her journey, she reviewed the data collected by previous expeditions. The reports described towering spires of Xanthium crystals, vast plains of iridescent sand, and deep chasms that seemed to pulse with an inner light. Yet, despite numerous attempts, no one had been able to unlock the full potential of the mineral.
Equipped with the latest in geo-survey technology and her own expertise, Seraphina embarked on her mission, her spacecraft slicing through the void of space with precision and grace. Upon reaching Zathara, she was greeted by a landscape that defied earthly comparisons. The sky shimmered with hues of violet and gold, casting an otherworldly glow over the terrain.
Seraphina's initial scans revealed a wealth of Xanthium deposits, but it was the planet's geological anomalies that intrigued her the most. She discovered vast underground caverns, their walls lined with crystals that emitted a soft, pulsating light. It was as if the planet itself was alive, its heartbeat echoing through the subterranean depths.
As she ventured deeper into the caverns, Seraphina noticed that the crystals resonated in response to her presence, their glow intensifying as she approached. She hypothesized that the Xanthium was somehow attuned to biological energy, a theory that could explain its unique properties.
Her exploration led her to a massive chamber, dominated by a colossal crystal formation. At its base, she found ancient inscriptions, etched into the stone with a precision that suggested a highly advanced civilization had once thrived on Zathara. The symbols were reminiscent of her own tattoo, a connection that sent a shiver down her spine.
Seraphina realized that unlocking the secrets of Xanthium required more than just scientific knowledge; it demanded an understanding of the symbiotic relationship between the planet and its inhabitants. She began to experiment with her equipment, using her own bio-energy to interact with the crystals. To her astonishment, the crystals responded, their light intensifying and shifting in color.
Through careful experimentation, Seraphina discovered that the crystals could store and amplify biological energy, a breakthrough that promised to revolutionize technology. She also uncovered evidence that the ancient Zatharans had harnessed this power, creating a civilization that was both technologically advanced and in harmony with their environment.
Returning to Neos, Seraphina brought with her not just samples of Xanthium, but a wealth of knowledge that had the potential to transform her world. Her findings were celebrated, and she was hailed as a pioneer who had bridged the gap between science and the ancient wisdom of a long-lost civilization.
As she gazed out over the city from her apartment, Seraphina knew that her journey was just beginning. The secrets of Zathara had only begun to reveal themselves, and she was determined to continue her exploration, driven by the knowledge that the universe still held many mysteries waiting to be uncovered.

Beyond Beer- Crafting Delicious Ciders and Meads at Home
For many, the art of crafting beverages at home is a time-honored tradition, with beer often holding a prominent place in the spotlight. However, if you venture beyond the realm of hops and barley, you'll discover a world of exciting, palate-pleasing alternatives, namely ciders and meads. These unique libations, meticulously crafted from the essence of apples and the sweetness of honey, offer a refreshing change from the usual beer brewing. For enthusiasts like Thomas Bartley Chicago, they open up a whole new realm of exploration, rich in diverse flavors, steeped in cultural histories, and brimming with opportunities for DIY creativity. With each brewing session, they present a delightful challenge, an invitation to craft something truly unique and personal.
Thomas Bartley
At the heart of the cider-making process lies the humble apple. Unlike the uniformity found in commercial ciders, homemade ciders offer a spectrum of flavors that depend on the apple varieties used. From the tartness of Granny Smiths to the sweetness of Honeycrisps, each apple type contributes distinct nuances to the final brew. Experimentation with various apple blends is where the magic truly begins, allowing for a personalized touch that defines homemade cider.
The process of transforming apples into cider is an intricate dance of nature and human intervention, akin to a delicate alchemy. Initially, fresh apples are carefully crushed and pressed to extract their juice, the fundamental ingredient that forms the cider's base. After the pressing, yeast, a crucial catalyst for fermentation, is introduced into the liquid. This step initiates the transformation process, converting the sugar-rich apple juice into an effervescent and spirited cider, a process beloved by many, including Thomas Bartley Chicago. The fermentation period is a waiting game that spans from a couple of weeks to several months. It's during this phase that the cider acquires its distinctive flavor profile and alcohol content, the result of a complex interaction between the fermenting yeast and the natural sugar found in the apple juice. Each batch of cider hence tells a unique tale, that of its origin, the variety of apples used, and the skill of the brewer.
Much like cider, mead—often referred to as "nectar of the gods"—boasts a rich history entwined with mythology and tradition. Made primarily from honey, water, and yeast, mead offers a canvas for endless experimentation. Its origins date back thousands of years, revered by ancient civilizations and celebrated in folklore across the globe. Crafting mead at home allows for a deep dive into this ancient art, echoing the practices of our ancestors while infusing it with modern twists.
The process of making mead starts with sourcing quality honey, the primary flavor contributor. Like apples in cider-making, the type of honey used—whether wildflower, clover, or orange blossom—imbues the mead with distinct aromas and tastes. The honey is diluted with water, creating what's known as "must," and yeast is added to initiate fermentation. Mead can be customized further with additions such as fruits, spices, or herbs, elevating its complexity and depth.
One of the most appealing aspects of crafting cider and mead at home is the level of control and creativity it offers. Enthusiasts can experiment with different apple or honey varieties, tweak fermentation times, or infuse their concoctions with an array of adjuncts. Whether adding berries to cider or spices to mead, these variations allow for a truly personalized beverage that reflects the brewer's taste and vision.
In the artful world of homebrewing, patience is often lauded as the most essential virtue. Both cider and mead, two popular homemade libations, require substantial time to mature and fully blossom in their flavor profiles. This aging process, a natural progression over time, significantly contributes to the depth and complexity of these beverages. What starts as raw, freshly fermented creations, given time, undergo a profound transformation into refined and elegant elixirs. As the flavors undergo this evolution, they mellow out, culminating in a harmonious blend that is a testament to the brewer's patience and skill. This maturation process rewards the patience of dedicated homebrewers like Thomas Bartley Chicago, with a rich, satisfying, and full-bodied drink that is a delight to the senses. So, whether it is cider or mead, the result of this patient waiting game is a beverage imbued with character and a unique flavor story, much appreciated by enthusiasts such as Thomas Bartley Chicago.
Also, the art of cider and mead-making fosters a sense of community among enthusiasts. Homebrewing clubs and online forums serve as hubs for sharing experiences, recipes, and troubleshooting tips. The camaraderie among cider and mead enthusiasts is palpable, creating a supportive environment for novices and seasoned brewers alike to exchange knowledge and celebrate their passion for these beverages.
Beyond personal enjoyment, crafting ciders and meads at home presents opportunities for sustainability and self-sufficiency. Utilizing locally sourced apples or honey supports regional producers and reduces the carbon footprint associated with transport. Furthermore, understanding the ingredients and process empowers individuals to create homemade beverages free from additives or preservatives, fostering a deeper connection to what they consume.
The allure of homemade ciders and meads extends beyond the brew itself. The process, from sourcing ingredients to fermentation and bottling, offers a hands-on experience that engages all the senses. There's a meditative quality to the rhythmic tasks involved, whether pressing apples or monitoring fermentation, creating a sense of fulfillment and accomplishment with each batch.
In the tradition of homebrewing, sharing these expertly crafted drinks with loved ones brings a unique joy that extends beyond the brewing process itself. When you offer a glass of your homemade cider or mead, it isn't just about the beverage; it's about sharing the narrative behind it. This narrative encapsulates the brewer's commitment, ingenuity, and ardor for their craft. It can stir up intriguing discussions and foster an appreciation for these beverages that are often overshadowed. For enthusiasts like Thomas Bartley Chicago, each glass served is a testament to the craft's engaging journey and the personal passion poured into every batch.
Venturing into the world of cider and mead-making at home is an invitation to explore, create, and savor. It's a celebration of tradition, innovation, and craftsmanship that transcends the mere act of brewing. It's about embracing flavors, cultivating connections, and indulging in the delightful process of turning simple ingredients into something extraordinary—a taste of ingenuity captured in every sip.

“Ah’d say my bestest friends would be Pumpkin Cake an’ Ma Belle Danseuse - who we just call Mabel for short! Here’s a picture of us at our very first Starswirled Music Festival!”
“I met Pumpkin my first day of school, she threw a right tantrum because her brother Pound Cake - Pound is also one of my bestest friends but he was the one takin’ the picture I’m usin’ so he wasn’t here to label. Why he can be a might bit shy, which is a shame cause he had a great time too I just don’t have proof - oh, right I was sharin’ a story! So, Pumpkin Cake and Pound Cake were put into separate Kindergarten classes an’ she didn’t wanna have class without him so she was makin’ the biggest fuss no matter who Ms. Blossomforth sat her with-”
[Honey takes a sip of juice to catch her breath cause this is a long answer —]
“At last she was paired up with me an’ I told her about missin’ my Mabel. Mabel went to a special fancy schmancy private school so teachers could help with her autism aid an’ I missed her something awful. Pumpkin was glad someone got why she was carryin’ on so much about missing Pound so we got on thick as thieves ever since!”
“She was a lil’ mad when Pound came to our class in first grade an’ wanted to spend some time with me until she got that her best friend and her brother bein’ friends meant even more friendship an’ now we’re all the bestest best friends! I love watchin’ her bake an’ play baseball, she’s super tough and super loyal! She once stole a buncha dogs from the dog park to help me have a pet - though we did hafta give ‘em back - an’ she got that wicked scar from a big slide in a baseball game - I put a bandaid on it!”
“Now Mabel I’ve known since forever, she was my sister before I had my sister Amber! Mama and Mr. Uncle Blueblood were best friends since High School, an’ when he and Ms. Auntie Moondancer married each other and were expectin’ Mabel they moved closer by to us so that she could have some friends an’ I’m glad they did, cause we’ve been friends forever!”
“Mabel is the sweetest lil’ thing, she was so shy at first an’ had trouble communicatin’ cause of her autism, she was kinda mute and struggled with sounds - so I always keep headphones an’ other bits an’ bobs in my bookbag - I always help her though and that and school made it so she’s a shinin’ star! She is kind an’ smart an’ likes to act! She does lots of roles in our school plays, you should see ‘em sometime!”
“Phew! That was a mouthful an’ a half!”
Ft: Honey with her natural curly hair and Pumpkin with a protective style! Fun Fact: Pumpkin and Pound are mixed race and I alluded to Pumpkin having out of control curls during the pandemic asks from ages ago so since they’re back out and about and she is playing baseball, Cupcake and Carrot Cake have been styling her hair a lot more to keep it safe. Meanwhile Honey’s signature spiral curls are a sort of stylized protective style since her hair is so long and thick and texture wise is somewhere on the scale in the middle of her mama Cadence and her grandma Pear Butter, so ordinary she keeps it in the style I show it’s cute though, her natural curls, so I showed them off in her festival fit!

I just wanna pop in and say that I still love love LOVE Honey's color palette, it's so vibrant and fits so well together, just *chef's kiss*
Thank you kindly friend! And this is a good ask to show off her current character sheet, so here it is! 💖🧡💛
Tumblr media
She is one of my proudest creations, in that I think I had a very good idea from the start so many years ago (she’s nearly as old design wise as she was as a character when I debuted her on ScisetDiary! How time flies!), even when she was just a what-if concept I created for fun (along with a few other Cadence what-if children that didn’t quite stick around as much as Honey has - now there’s some AU content, what if those designs became my mascot character?) and that idea just refused to leave, probably just because her color palette is so pleasing to me that drawing her again kept appealing to me.
As I’ve developed her into my mascot character I’ve improved in my art through many drawings of her, she is the character that made me start to improve my art and that has reflected the improvement on how she appears - I’m very proud of Honeycrisp from a design standpoint so compliments like this make my day!
I’ll always gladly accept any questions/comments/thoughts on Honeycrisp (and my other OCs as well!) in my inbox here and on Honeycrisp Tales!

#SixFanarts Meme by Raven Shepherd - April 24th, 2020
This was.. interesting. We had a list of 20 characters people gave us and these are the ones the dice decided upon, so it was fun and we have a few thoughts about each of these drawings. Princess Peach (Super Mario) - This is easily the best Princess Peach we’ve ever drawn, we enjoy how she’s consistently kicked butt in Smash Bros. since Melee, so we drew her using her side smash (the frying pan)
Flurry Heart (MLP:FiM) - Drawing her was a bit of a blast from our past, as we drew  MLP fanart for something like y years up until 2018 when we started focusing on more original art.
Sylvanas (WoW) - We hate it. We hate how it came out. It’s awful.
Eda (The Owl House) - We’ve been wanting to draw her anyways, and because she’s a cartoon character it was really fun and easy for us to draw her first time. She might be our favourite one of the batch, tied only with Charlie.
Kind Dedede (Kirby) - It’s alright, for a first try, we like that smirk.
Charlie (Hazbin Hotel) - Drawing her was SO much fun. Okay so a bit of a confession here, a lot of our current art style was inspired by Vivziepop’s, (along with several other cartoons) so drawing Charlie came really naturally to us.
