At my parents' to recover from my wisdom teeth extraction tonight, and I brought along these two beauties and their manuals so I could learn more about them in-depth. I'm loving the "hidden" parameters I'm able to control in secondary knob mode, as well as many of the envelope effect modes that control either speed or depth in some of the modulation types. Makes them very responsive to the intensity I play with if I set them right, and it's giving me all sorts of great ideas. Definitely some powerhouse pedals. Got a new @ehx pedalboard/bag (not technically a board, rather a soft case that functions as the bag and the board in one) and was able to cram all the vital organs to my current setup in the bag, then put several delays, modulations, and a looper up on the smaller board I had been using, with only the wah and tap tempo off to the side now. The Vox amp is a perfect complement to my pedalboard(s) and helps shape some ethereal tones. I'm in love with all the sounds I can get from the various combinations of all these effects. To anyone who receives the pleasure of playing with these two pedals in conjunction: I highly recommend running the shimmer reverb wet through a series of delays (I used a short analog delay with a few extra repeats running into a longer digital pre-delay) then the harmonic modulation with a slow rate. It will certainly take you to the furthest depths of the sea and the most distant reaches of space. Used some PayPal special financing to get this affordable replacement 8 string. There was a wire disconnected from the volume pot that I'll have to solder back on once I get a new iron, but I hooked it around and the @lacepickups that were added in sound superb.
