Bangtan Christmas 2023
Tumblr media
It's my favourite time of the year again. Welcome to this collection of stories depicting Bangtan struggling to get into the Christmas spirit. Luckily you're there to help them.
Tumblr media
Paediatrician Dr Jung Hoseok is beloved by all his patients and everyone he works with. Unfortunately his cheerful demeanour is only a front, underneath it all, he's a humbug.
Date of posting: 19th December.
Tumblr media
In a post nuclear war world, all you have is your son Jiwon. You'd do anything to keep him safe, including putting your trust in your new neighbour Kim Namjoon. You hope you haven't made the biggest mistake of your life.
Written in response to an ask I got early in the year - a story I've kept chipping away at and now it's finally finished. Anon, I think about you often and I hope you and your kids are doing well. I hope you've had time to heal and no longer think of yourself as a heartbroken single mom, because you are and have always been more than that.
Date of posting: 20th December.
Tumblr media
You find yourself on Earth, navigating life as a fallen angel with the help of Jungkook, who has his own problems.
Date of posting: 21st December.
Tumblr media
A wounded man falls out of the sky and lands in your garden, plunging you into a world of danger and dragons. Part of the Royal Pain AU, featuring Jimin as a dragon rider.
Date of posting: 22nd December.
Tumblr media
You know Kim Taehyung can't be trusted from the moment you set eyes on him, he's a rogue through and through. So why did you agree to work together?
Date of posting: 23rd December.
Tumblr media
Kim Seokjin is a lot of things to you. The high school heartthrob you never got with, the fuckboi you hooked up with occasionally in college, and now the chaebol boss you didn't sign up to work for. Things he's never been? A man you can rely on.
Date of posting: 24th December.
Tumblr media
Min Yoongi only cares about three things. The thrill of drifting, his friends and cars, in that order. Somehow, you've got under his skin.
Date of posting: 25th December.

Oh Christmas Tree | KNJ
Tumblr media
∴ summary: you’re looking for a fresh start and a Christmas tree when you unintentionally stumble across the worlds most attractive dimples and the sweet, gigantic, bumbling man attached to them
Alt: Namjoon + a Christmas tree farm + his best friend’s girlfriend’s little sister = the best Yuletide he never saw coming
∴ masterlist
∴ part of the breakfast with bangtan series
∴ pairing: Kim Namjoon x female reader, guest appearances by cultivating a life with you Hoseok x his y/n
∴word count: 10.8k
∴ rating: mature, 18+
∴genre: fluff, strangers to lovers. slice of life, Christmas romance
∴warnings: flirting, woke adjacent Christmas tree banter? sexual tension, joon is a big man (we all know this), a few subtle pov shifts- but only at already marked breaks in the story beats (should be easy to follow. Hopefully), subtle daddy kink, joonie has big boobies and he likes boobies, what was meant to be really soft smut that got a little out of hand honestly
∴author’s note: This started as a little scribble in March of 2021 that only involved the scene of y/n and Namjoon bantering about Christmas trees. I’ve been neck deep in 30k+ monster fic drafts for months and I just wanted to write something quick & fluffy so here we are. This y/n is the sister Hoseok’s girlfriend visits in cultivating a life with you. The stories are totally independent of each other but technically- chronologically- this takes place two winters later. Not meant to be hallmark movie related. I honestly just love the idea of Namjoon in one of his tiny little beanies getting tongue tied in the snow while surrounded by Christmas trees. Enjoy! Please let me know if you like it, if you like :) also… this is not proofread yet. I stayed up all night writing this and didn’t sleep. So I’m gonna leave this here, crash, and come back later to edit and add my copious italics, as I do.
───────────────────────
“My gosh, are these Christmas trees in outer space?”
You’d spent the last hour and a half being squashed in the backseat of your sister’s Mini Cooper. Your knees were beginning to ache.
“Oh don’t be a grinch, silly. We’re almost there,” your sister twisted to smile back at you from her spot in the passenger seat.
Her pink mittened hand was happily resting on her boyfriend Hoseok’s slim thigh. He reached down to tap out the rhythm to “walking in a winter wonderland” across the back of her knuckles as she beamed back at you, and you felt a little bit of your irritation melt away. It was nice to see her so happy. They were sweet to each other. It was lovely for them, but it wouldn’t help straighten out the kink in your back.
Who takes a coupe to pick up a live Christmas tree?
Hoseok caught your eye in the rear view mirror and smiled in apology as you shifted. He was as nice as your sister, just as keen to accommodate, and as soft for her as you were, if not more. His car was in the shop and yours hadn’t arrived yet. You’d driven a u-haul here from three states away a week and a half ago, settling down to take root during a holiday season best celebrated in an established home like the smart planner you were (not).
But for once, you didn’t care. Or at least, you were learning not to.
You’d spent too much of your life stuck in places you didn’t even want to be, taking life too seriously. Spent too many of the last few years feeling stagnant and like you were running out of time all at once. So when the opportunity arose, you took the first chance you got to move here. To be closer to your sister, to be somewhere where the air felt lighter, where you could be whoever you wanted to be.
And today, you wanted to be the owner of a live Christmas tree.
Give yourself something to smile at in your studio that currently consisted of bare stucco walls and aesthetic cardboard box piles.
When you’d mentioned it over the phone, your sister had known just the place.
“It’s the cutest little Christmas tree farm! Me and hobi get our tree there every year! They even have a hot cocoa stand up front for you to sip on while you pick your tree out. It’s owned by the sweetest family. One of our friends works there too. Oh you have to meet him!”
Your sister had gushed it all in one breath.
“Have to?”
“Absolutely. Not even a question. Get dressed! Me and hobi’ll pick you up in 10!”
That was that. You’d bundled up to the best of your ability, (Your wardrobe was not prepared for how chilly the winters got up here) and twenty minutes later, your sister and a blushing Hoseok were waiting for you in the parking lot in their jolly little holiday mobile.
Your sister had added reindeer antlers and a red nose to her Mini Cooper and jingle bells to the door handles. There was a set of white vinyl stickers with the silhouette of Santa’s sleigh and all nine reindeer plastered on the back window and a sprig of mistletoe-that she’d probably grown herself- twirling from the rear view mirror. Somehow she’d even gotten the horn to match the melody of “we wish you a merry Christmas.”
You’d have to ask how later.
The ride ended up being cozy enough. Now you were just eager to get out and get the feeling back in your toes. Hoseok tipped the driver's side seat forward for you to crawl out from the back. The second the icy wind slapped against your cheek you wondered why you thought going out in the cold would bring any sort of circulation back to your toes. You rolled your eyes at yourself and chuckled when you caught sight of the purplish tinge along Hoseok’s throat peeking out just over the edge of his chunky crocheted scarf. (Your sister probably made it for him. And now he was using it to hide her hickies. The little hoe.)
He felt your stare and blushed, his wide animated eyes becoming sheepish as he yanked his scarf up just the littlest bit higher.
So that was why that ten minute pickup time had stretched into twenty.
Good for the both of you.
Soon, the three of you were wandering through the farm. There was a section of freshly cut trees ready to take home near the front but rows and rows of trees still rooted to the ground off into the horizon, all dusted with this week’s newest burst of powdery snow. It was a magical thing to see really.
Your sister was happily tucked into Hoseok’s lithe side, one arm looped through his, the other hand cradling a hot cup of cocoa with a candy cane poking out of the lid. Nothing if not festive. You’d opted to save your cup for later. You liked the brisk air, and you liked both your hands being deeply plunged in the warmth of your fleece lined pockets.
“Cell reception is shit up here.” Hoseok piped up. “I tried to text Namjoon to see if he was working today but all I got back was the green text bubble of death.”
“Boo, Joonie’s the worst at charging his phone too. It’s probably dead,” your sister giggled.
“Guess I’m never gonna meet your jolly green giant, Hobes,” you bumped his elbow with yours.
“With the brain of archibald asparagus,” your sister added.
“Sexy brain, that man has,” Hoseok sighed with envy.
“Your brain is sexy too, babe.” Your sister tipped up on her toes to kiss Hoseok’s wind-chapped cheek.
“Not as sexy as his,” Hoseok nodded resolutely.
“Oh, what about when he wears his little wire rimmed professor glasses?”
“Too hot. He’d melt the snow,” Hoseok swooned.
“Goodness, are you in love with my sister or him?” You teased.
“Both,” Hoseok admitted, a little too sincerely, clutching at his heart over his oversized parka.
“I don’t blame him,” your sister nodded sagely. You quirked a brow at her and she simply shrugged, all innocence, zero guilt. “What? Don’t look at me like that. Trust me, it’ll make sense when you see him.”
“If I ever see him. I’m pretty sure he’s a myth.” Your skepticism came out with a snort and an opaque puff of air.
Geeze, it’s cold.
────────────────────────
At some point in the wandering, you got distracted watching a small child drag their parent by the wrist to the tree of their dreams. The scene was so wholesome and sweet. The little girl squealed with delight as a pair of squirrels skittered past them in chase, twining their way up her tree and darting down and away, ruffling soft powdery snow loose from the tree’s needles in their wake like a fairy sprinkling pixie dust.
The whole interaction was so idyllic that you’d stopped paying attention to where you were going and plowed directly into the broad back of what you were sure must be a bear. What else could it be? No man’s back was that broad, that’s for sure.
The force of it knocked you flat back on your bum, leaving you dazed in a little pile of crunchy snow and loose pine needles.
“Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry!”
The words came too fast, too rushed, and at sure as hell too deep of an octave to come from anyone you knew, man or bear included.
There was a massive olive green, gloved hand shoved in your face- apparently attached to whoever was apologizing so profusely. You grabbed on and let it hoist you up. Goddamn, whoever this was was strong. After flying backward just a few seconds ago, you were now flying forward, toppling directly into what seemed to be just as equally broad a chest as the back you had crashed into moments ago.
“Are you alright? I can’t believe I did that. Are you o-“
The rambling ocean wave of a voice stopped crashing over you the second you looked up and locked eyes with what you were sure was the most beautiful man you’d ever seen in person.
“Holy shit,” you muttered under your breath.
The man’s full lips seemed to gape as he looked at you.
Not necessarily in an objectionable way. It was more like, the tape in his brain had spun off the track and tangled itself up like an old cassette that needed help being wound back up again. It was like his thoughts were written all over his face. If you knew him better, you could have read them like a novel. For now, you knew one thing.
He was pretty when he was thinking.
Hell, he was pretty, period.
And two, he was solid as an ox.
“Are you okay? Are you hurt? Mr Yun’s gonna kill me if you’re hurt. I should have been paying more attention.” He patted down the sides of your ribs and torso like he was half expecting a bone to be jutting out.
“I’m okay. I’m good. i-“ am still holding his pecs, you realized.
What a Christmas miracle they were. Geeze. He had better boobs than you. You swallowed once then smiled up at him. “Do you, by any chance, work here?”
He blinked at you. There was snow on his eyelashes. His tiny dark green beanie wasn’t doing any good at shielding his face from the snow, but god did the color look good next to his golden skin.
“Um, yes, actually. I do. Again, I’m so sorry that I-“
“Shush, enough of that. You’re going to help me pick my tree.”
“I am?”
It was his turn to swallow.
“I mean, yes. Of course I am. Can. What are you looking for?”
He was nervous. So visibly nervous. You weren’t sure if it was because of you or if it was just his general disposition. Either way, you were hopelessly endeared by it. Pretty, bumbly, abominable snowman of a man. With great tits.
“Well, I came here in a Mini Cooper, so… whatever will fit on top of that, I guess.”
He blinked again, before he smiled- wide and gracious. His eyes crinkled at the edges and Jesus, Mary and Joseph.
His dimples.
How obscene.
“Sounds like a great place to start, to me.” He laughed for the first time. It was so boisterous and rich, you were sure he’d cause an avalanche.
The sound was as deep as winter, but soothing and warm. You already wanted to hear it again.
Oh boy. You really liked this one.
────────────────────────
“So what technically constitutes ‘ethically sourced’ when it comes to Christmas trees?” You looked wide-eyed up at Namjoon.
“Um… you know I… well, usually I-I would know the answer to that.”
“But right now, you don’t?”
“I mean, I can’t say that I do.” He shrugged ruefully.
“Despite currently being employed on a Christmas tree lot?” You arched a brow at him, a wry smile pulling at your lips.
“That does seem to be the case, yes.” His brows pinched at his own glum response.
“Are you new?” Mirth glittered in your eyes as you watched him.
“No, actually, I’ve been helping Mr. Yun since college… senior year of high school technically, actually.” Namjoon looked a bit lost in space as he wracked his brain for his qualifications.
“So you should have seniority around here?”
“Sort of ? It’s just , you know, mr. yun is a friend of my parents and he’s always been good to me so I always try to return the favor and help out every year, if I can.” He swallowed.
He wasn’t sure why he was so nervous. He literally talked to people for a living. He could sell a polar bear ice, for Pete’s sake. But every time he made eye contact with you, he was practically on the verge of forgetting his own name so this whole witty repartee thing was an absolute struggle in ways it absolutely should not be.
“Well, he’s very lucky to have you then. Even if you can’t tell me where this tree came from.” You chuckled.
“No, I that- that I can do. All our Douglas firs come from grey farms about two hours north of here. Again, super kind family. They’ve been doing this for generations, actually.”
He found himself affectionately gripping the top of the tree while you smiled up at him like you had a secret and he felt a new rush of sweat rise beneath the fold of his beanie.
“So locally sourced then.”
“Family owned.” He nodded.
“Well now, that’s a great start. You know more than you let on.” You tapped an index finger into the down of his puffy coat and he felt himself flush, wishing he actually could have felt that touch.
Every part of him felt like he was back in middle school right now. It had been ages since something this simple was this difficult for him. Trying to figure out how not to trip over his words while maintaining eye contact with the you and your the luminous smile really wasn’t working at all. He should have been better at this by now, he sighed. His thirteen year old self would have been ashamed to see how little progress he’d made in that department in a decade and a half.
“So, should I choose to re-home this lovely tree, do you know of anyone who could, say, strap it to the roof of my car for me?”
Your eyes were twinkling, face framed by the softly falling snow flurries that had started up again and Namjoon felt himself swallow.
“I- I would be happy to find-“
“There you are! Finally found you- Oh, hey bro! So you are working today!” A voice bright like tangy sweet lemonade interrupted Namjoon’s inelegant struggle.
“Hoseok?” Namjoon looked mystified at the pair of you as Hoseok clasped a mittened hand around your shoulder. “How do you two-“
“This is my girl’s sister, y/n, remember? I told you we were helping her move in last week.” He explained with a happy shrug.
“This is… you’re… wow. Hey. Nice to officially meet you.” Namjoon released the tree to dizzily shake your hand, trying his best to ignore your amusement at his manic behavior.
“So you’re the mysterious friend who was too busy to help with the u-haul unloading, huh?” You quirked a brow up at Namjoon. He looked a bit green around the gills as his snow frosted lashes fell away from your gaze.
“We were slammed here that day. If it makes you feel any better, I got so much pine sap all over me that I had to toss my favorite gloves away.”
“Tsk. Now why would that make me feel better?” You teased as something mischievous glinted in your eyes.
“Because my shitty friend status made me suffer?” Namjoon shrugged.
“Well, we weren’t friends yet,” you grinned. “But now that we are, I think it’s only right that you should come over when you’re off to help the three of us decorate my new locally sourced, freshly cut Christmas tree”
“Oh absolutely!“ Hoseok piped in. “You haven’t hung out in weeks- you have to come.”
His endearing smile beamed bright across his face in a way that was impossible to fight. Bright red bits of hair peaked out beneath his beanie as he grinned widely up at Namjoon, and Namjoon was too distracted by his openness to process his nerves at the invitation.
“I mean, I guess I… I mean I wouldn’t want to intrude on…”
“Nonsense,” Hoseok interrupted,” you’d only be making the party better! Y/n needs all the friends she can get anyway. Poor thing’s stuck hanging out with us all the time- she could use a few new faces in the rotation, right little sis?” He hip checked you, ruffling your hair with the hand slung over your shoulder.
“Not your little sis yet,” you countered, eyes full of challenge.
“Wait, Hobi, this Christmas are you gonna…” Namjoon twisted his left hand, the gesture caught vaguely somewhere between the Queens wave and the single ladies dance.
Hoseok pulled a nervous face, brows lifting and jaw tightening until his smile bared all his teeth, as he patted the chest of his puffer coat.
“I’ve been carrying it around for weeks actually. Can’t seem to find the right time.”
“Are you insane?” You swatted him. “You brought it with you here? What if you lose it in the snow, you dummy?!”
“Ow!” Hoseok rubbed his shoulder dramatically. “The little ones are always fighters.”
You rolled your eyes as Namjoon blushed for reasons beyond him. Maybe he didn’t need any more explanation than the fact that you were cute as hell and he liked seeing you laugh.
“Your sister would never hit me like that,” Hoseok huffed.
“Yeah, she doesn’t have to because she knows I’d do it for her. Now why on gods green earth is the ring just chilling in your pocket while you stroll through endless yards of nature??”
“I keep it with me in case there’s a moment that just feels right. I’ll already be ready, you know.”
Hoseok’s face was far away, dreamy.
Namjoon was happy for him, even if he wanted a little piece of his friend’s wonder for himself one day.
“I still think you should propose to her at home in your little jungle. You have to know how happy that would make her,” you asserted.
Namjoon thought back to his last visit to Hoseok’s apartment. The walls had almost been alive with the amount of trailing vines climbing toward the ceiling. It was otherworldly, serene, like an indoor garden. It would be a spectacular place to propose actually.
“I think she’s right. It would be pretty damn perfect, Hob.” Namjoon offered.
“Ooo, did you hear that?” Slipping out from under Hoseok’s slinky arm, you attached yourself to Namjoon’s bulky one. “He already knows I’m always right. The company you keep, Hobi. I like this one.”
You squeezed Namjoon’s bicep, and he swore he could feel the warmth of your touch through his puffer jacket. He knew his cheeks had to match Hoseok’s fire engine hair now.
“Hey, be sweet to him. He’s sensitive,” Hoseok tutted as he pinched Namjoon’s rosy face despite being swatted away by one Namjoon’s big hands.
“I… is this the tree you’re settled on y/n? If it is, I should start getting it wrapped for you.”
“Hoist it on the beige Mini Cooper in the back, eh Hulk?” Hoseok patted his unoccupied bicep, giving it a happy squeeze as he pushed past Namjoon. “Im off to find where my poison Ivy wandered off to again. Probably somewhere talking to the cedars.” He shook his head softly but gosh, there was nothing but fondness in his happily crinkled eyes. “You two don’t get up to anything too wild while I’m gone now, yeah? We haven’t even brought out the baileys and the eggnog yet. Save it for later - or I’ll be the one kissing Joonie under the mistletoe.”
Hoseok wiggled his fingers and brows in puppety unison as he vanished through the trees, leaving Namjoon alone with you once again.
“He’s quite the character isn’t he?” You chuckled.
“You have no idea.”
“He’s good to my sister though. I’ve never seen her so happy.”
“They’re pretty made for each other,” Namjoon nodded in assent as you sighed.
It wasn’t until he looked down to catch your expression that he realized you were still holding onto his arm. Jesus Christ of Nazareth, was he going to faint in a Christmas tree lot?
You looked up then, a soft giggle bubbling out of you when you saw whatever his distress was doing to his face, and squeezed his arm before walking a few snowy paces ahead.
“Come on, tiger. The quicker we take care of this, the quicker we can get out of the cold.”
Namjoon had never followed anyone faster in his life.
────────────────────────
Why had the three of you come in a compact car?
This was pure delusion.
The tree Namjoon had helped you pick loomed over the front windshield like something from whoville. Good thing you weren’t the one driving. Good luck with that visibility, Hobi.
You and your sister stood side by side, linked at the elbow while the two men tied the tree down to the roof of the car.
“Think we’ll tip over in a strong breeze?” You queried.
“I think we’ll tip over if anyone even looks at us funny,” your sister giggled.
Her laughter was contagious and soon you were both cackling uncontrollably as Hoseok and Namjoon secured your dr Seuss tree to the roof of her car. Namjoon looked back over his shoulder, making accidental eye contact with you. You let your gaze rove over his absurdly pretty face, eyes lingering around the high corners of his cheekbones and the doughy imprints of those audaciously sweet dimples of his.
“My god, just look at him,” you sighed. “It’s like heaven tried to make focaccia bread when they made his face and decided to stop two pokes in because it was already perfect.”
Your sister looked between you and Namjoon, chuckling when the giant of a man turned away bashfully, as if those big shoulders could make him disappear.
“I told you he was pretty,” she shrugged. “And you gave me your judgy eyebrows.”
“I was a fool,” you sighed again. “In my defense, I didn’t know there could be boys prettier than Hobi around here.”
“Wait til you meet the children. Jimin and Jungkook are so beyond anything you could even comprehend. Beautiful little whores.”
“There’s more?” Your brows shot up high.
“Oh and Taehyung! Taehyung will charm you right out of your coat. He’s the dangerous one. I can’t even make eye contact with him without stammering,” she shook her head in derision.
“Whew boy, what a winter we’re in for.” You rocked up on your toes with a whistle.
“Winter is a mercy. Seokjin’s shoulders in summer? Glory be.”
Lovingly, you squeezed her tighter into your side. “At least we have Yoongi on our side.”
“Oh, no ma’am, we do not. He’s the worst one!”
“Min Yoongi ?” You gasped. “No!”
“Yes! He’ll sneak right up on you out of nowhere just when you think you’re finally friends and keep your glass full of wine all night until you accidentally spill all your most embarrassing high school secrets,” she muttered.
“No,…not the pyramid.”
“Yes, the pyramid. And he’ll get it on tape too. Adorable little bastard. Don’t let that cute little gummy smile fool you. He’s ruthless.”
You don’t think you’ve ever heard your big sister curse before.
The pout on her face was too priceless not to laugh at so you did. The laughter was robust and full- it came straight from somewhere deep in your belly and pretty soon she was laughing too, hiding her face in the faux fur collar of your coat. The two of you clinging to each other as you cackled like wild children in the snow.
────────────────────────
Hoseok looked over the roof at the two of you and melted into an inordinately affectionate grin.
“You could just go ask her now and put yourself out of your misery, you know,” Namjoon chuckled to himself.
“Nah, she’s so happy right now. I’ll let them have their moment.”
Namjoon let himself study you.
The two of you looked so much alike yet so different. Your sister was all spun sugar and sweetness, quick as a dragonfly on the breeze. But you, well, he didn’t quite know how to put it into words. You were still sweet, but it was different. There was something more rich, a bit more solid about your aura. If your sister was candy floss, then his best guess - based on his limited interaction with you- was that you were salted caramel.
The thought had him pulling his bottom lip between his teeth. He wanted to know what else made up the pieces of you. He wanted to get off this shift so he could be in the same room as you. So he could be alone with you.
He wanted to get you under the mistletoe and taste those pretty lips of yours.
But of course, that meant he had to have a coherent conversation with you first.
“Hey, quit undressing my baby sister with your eyes,” Hoseok snapped.
Namjoon shook his head, rattled the stars out of his eyes.
“My bad. Sorry, man.”
“I’ll let it slide this time,” Hoseok huffed. “Hey, I think I’m getting good at this protective big brother thing. That was pretty convincing right ?” He beamed proudly.
“More than you know… hey, we should be good here.”
Namjoon patted the now secure tree, rustling a bit of soft snow loose from its branches.
“Then it’s time to get this baby back on the road!”
Hoseok slapped the chassis and the car jingled— jingled!
“I can’t believe you’re gonna marry a Christmas elf,” Namjoon snickered.
“Hey, you’re one to talk, Yukon Cornelius. You work at a damn tree farm. Don’t judge me. Besides, I’m sure you’ll be next. Y/n is just as bad as her sister.”
Namjoon stole another glance your way, his eyes darting away in a flash when he realized you were already watching him, something sultry glittering in your gaze that he tucked away in his pockets to think about later.
“Maybe being next wouldn’t be such a bad thing,” he smiled to himself.
────────────────────────
Before you could get off the tree lot, Namjoon was running back to the car, something small in his hands that you couldn’t make out.
You were crammed in the back seat between the extra boughs your sister had bought to turn into wreaths and garlands. All the evergreen scents made you feel like a new car air freshener. God. It was gonna be a long ride back to the city.
Namjoon knocked on the glass in a hurry, and you rolled the window down. What on earth was he-
“You never got your cocoa.”
“What?”
“You said you were gonna wait to nurse it on the ride home so I got… I got you cocoa.” His volume trailed as he handed the cup to you, like he was second guessing every action in his life that had brought him to this moment.
“Oh, I…” you didn’t know what to say. You didn’t trust yourself not to open your mouth and accidentally tell him you were already in love with him and did he know a guy who could get you both a marriage license by sundown.
“Kim Namjoon. You absolute sweetheart,” your sister gushed from the front seat.
Namjoon’s cheeks went from rosy from the cold to plum from embarrassment. You’d never wanted to kiss someone’s eyelashes before.
“Well, that’s all. I gotta get back. i-“
“Thank you,” you whispered, eyes flicking up from beneath your lashes to meet his.
“I…. Yeah. I.. I hope you like it.” His smile was wide, inebriated, giddy. You swore you could see the stars during the daylight.
“I’m sure I will. Six o clock. Tonight. You can come right?”
He nodded, bobbleheaded and boysish.
“Yeah. I’ll grab the address from Hobi.”
“Oh will you now?” Hoseok piped up from the front.
“Hobi, shut up or I will end you,” you threatened through your own teeth as he and your sister laughed at you.
“Tonight?” You called to Namjoon as Hoseok began to shift the car into gear.
“Tonight!” Namjoon shouted back, both his arms waving over head as the car pulled off and he shrank into something small in the distance.
Settling back in your seat, you brought the cup to your lips and breathed in the steamy liquid. You noticed a little black heart drawn in sharpie on the cup, remembered seeing a sharpie tucked behind one of Namjoon’s ears and smiled to yourself like you’d just been passed a note in eighth grade.
You looked up to see two sets of eyes watching you in the rear view.
“Oh god, eyes on the road mom and dad. This has nothing to do with you.”
Your sister giggled, “well I for one am very happy for both of you.”
Hoseok chimed in with a “right? They’re cute.”
God. What a pair of menaces.
You sank in your seat but couldn’t help but smile.
“He is cute, isn’t he?” You whispered into your cocoa cup.
Maybe this wouldn’t be such a long ride home after all.
────────────────────────
“Why did I let you make me think this was a good idea? I don’t even have any furniture! What, we’re gonna make that Goliath sit on boxes for a chair?”
You were frazzled. Namjoon had texted Hobi that he’d be at your place in half an hour. Suddenly the idea of that massive man being in your tiny apartment drinking eggnog out of a solo cup that you’re sure would look like a shot glass in his massive hands made no sense at all.
“First of all, this was your idea,” Hoseok chuckled,” so don’t pin this on me.”
“Traitor.” You whispered.
“But if it makes you nervous, I can shout out the boys to swing by.”
“What? How does that make any sense? Why would we add more people I have no place for? Come on now, use the brain in that pretty head, Hobi.” You rapped your knuckles against his temple as he laughed at you- laughed!
“ I am! It’ll make it feel less like a date. Less pressure to talk one on one there’s a little more of a crowd,” he shrugged like it was that easy. Maybe it was.
“Okay. Fine. Do it. But somebody’s gonna have to bring food cuz there’s nothing in that fridge but eggs and kombucha.”
“God, we need to feed you, little one.” Hobi frowned, concerned.
“Groceries are on tomorrow's to do list. I wasn’t expecting to feed a small army today. I was just gonna grab some take out once you and the missus went home.”
“And you still can. I’ll see if JK can snag something from work.”
A key jingled in the lock as your sister shimmied her way in the door, arms filled with Christmas decorations with a string of gold tinsel draped across her throat like a feather boa.
“I’m back! Hobi, baby, I texted you. Can you bring the other bin up?”
He pressed a kiss to her forehead and darted out the door.
“Holy mackerel, it’s gonna look like Santa’s workshop exploded in here.” You took in the sheer amount of tinsel, lights and decor your sister had managed to manhandle up the stairs.
“Oh stop you. They’re just extra decorations and props from the photography studio. I figured you can use what you like, and we’ll just put them back when the season’s over.” She shrugged.
“I’ll take free decorations that I don’t have to store any day.” You asserted with a grin. Peeling the sticky back off a command strip, you climbed up on a chair to hang the dang thing as close to the ceiling as you could reach. Your sister came behind you to spot you. No sense letting you break your neck before the guest of honor even got here.
“Most of our mini sessions are over anyway. Nobody should be trying to book their Christmas card photos after December 14th, and if they do, they deserve the Charlie Brown Christmas tree they get.”
It always tickled you when your sister tried to be matter of fact. You knew good and well she was too accommodating not to at least try to bend.
“Lay down the law, sis. Hey, hand me those string lights will you. Can you plug them in?”
The room burst into light in a cacophony of colors.
“Whew. Multi. Bold.”
“Sorry, I didn’t check if they were colorful or warm white first. Shoot.”
She looked so chagrined. It was so sweet. Here she was being so giving and thoughtful, and she really thought you were gonna have the nerve to be picky.
“Shush, you. They’ll look great. It’s kind of… cozy. Very vintage Christmas. Nostalgia chic,” you smiled, and she smiled with you, relieved.
“Hey, you don’t need to be nervous about Joonie.”
“I don’t?” You looked up at your sister through your lashes.
“He’s really a sweetheart.”
“I mean, I can tell that from space.” You smiled.
“Don’t be smart, you know what I mean, dummy.”
“Wait, which one am I ? Smart or dumb?” You laughed.
“Goofy. But I mean it. He’s such a good guy. His last relationship didn’t go so well,” the color of your sister’s voice changed then. “It was a long time ago. It was. I’m sure he hardly thinks about it anymore. It’s just, I think we’re all rooting for him to find someone who realizes just how lovely he is.”
Hobi chose just then to come clunking through the front door.
“Look who I found!”
Sure enough, all six foot something of Namjoon was right behind him, bashfully twisting a Santa hat between his nervous hands despite still wearing his little green beanie from the tree farm on his head.
Thirty minutes, my ass, you grumbled internally. But out loud you said : “Hey! You made it!”
He looked so big in your doorframe like that. Were his shoulders going to fit? Surely he was going to get stuck like Santa in a chimney flue.
“Looks like you guys got the tree up no problem.” He offered gently.
“Me and Hobi accessed our inner lumberjacks and got it done.” You flexed one bicep and Hoseok patted it like it was made of steel. You both giggled like the weirdos you were as Namjoon smiled softly, still hulking in your doorway like a vampire in need of an invite to cross the threshold.
“Come inside, you silly boy,” your sister tutted. “You’ve let half the winter in.” She tugged Namjoon’s sleeve as he ducked his head to come inside. God, you wanted to climb him like a tree.
He looked so nervous shucking his snow-caked boots off by your front door. It made you want to put him at ease.
“I can take your coat, and… whichever piece of headwear you’d prefer not to wear,” you eyed his double hat situation for the second time as he seemed to notice it for the first.
“Oh shoot. Am I still?” He snatched at his scalp and realized it was shrouded in green yarn. Pulling the beanie off, he inadvertently gave you a glimpse of his face framed by his thick head of tousled ebony hat hair. You weren’t sure if you wanted to climb up to fix it for him or pull him into your room and make it worse. “Can I use your bathroom?” He blurted.
“Mmm hmm. Down the hall, to the right.”
He thanked you, banking around you and the corner to hide in the bathroom.
As the door clicked shut, you locked eyes with your sister across the room. Even you felt how desperate you looked. She had the gall to laugh at you.
Traitor.
────────────────────────
Maybe this was going to be alright after all.
Sure enough, each of Hoseok’s boys rolled in, each one prettier than the last. The apartment had never been so blessed.
Jungkook brought two massive trays of food from chick fil a with enough side sauces to last until the apocalypse. What a fascinating juxtaposition he was. Wide eyes, innocent pink lips puckered unsurely around a little silver hoop and the dimensions of a Mack truck. How someone with that much ink curling across his skin was allowed to serve the lord’s chicken, you did not know, but you did know that god himself must have had a hand in sculpting his perky little peach of an ass. Glory.
Jimin and his obscenely pretty face brought champagne. Taehyung and his intense eyebrows brought vintage Christmas vinyls and a record player that looked like an old leather suitcase that he’d carried up the stairs on his hip like a briefcase. As soon as he’d gotten settled he’d put on Bing Crosby’s rendition of “white Christmas” and waltzed with Jimin around your kitchen island.
Seokjin brought the good food. Yoongi brought the good liquor. Your sister and Hoseok brought the laughter and joy.
It was a perfect way to spend a December night.
Somewhere during the course of the night, seokjin - who was wearing a Christmas sweater with an embroidered cat on it that he referred to as The Second Coming of Min Yoongi- decided to make an old fashioned popcorn garland for your tree. As he and Yoongi squabbled over how to properly thread a needle, you realized it had been ages since you’d seen Namjoon.
When he’d emerged from the bathroom earlier, his soft skin had been glistening as if he’d splashed water on his face. His hair looked to have been slicked back with wet hands, while one stubborn piece jutted forward to softly frame his brows. You’d gulped down your drink and avoided eye contact, knowing good and well your face was probably screaming “for the love of god, please marry me” every time you looked at him.
In your self-preservation, you feared it may have come across as plain avoidance. You needed to find him.
He’d driven all this way.
The tree farm was so far and he’d been working in the cold all day. Yet somehow he was here in your tiny home, without a single complaint.
Earlier in the night, you’d nearly tipped off your chair ladder trying to put the star on your tree and he’d caught you, scooping you up bridal style like it was as natural for him as breathing air. It was an unnecessary gesture. You really hadn’t been that far off the ground and the show of strength was absolutely welcome but embarrassing nonetheless. You’d been cradled in his chest again and god, it had taken everything in you to fight the instinct to bury your face between his pecs.
“Stop objectifying my sweet baby. You’ll taint him.” Hoseok had teased from across the room.
You’d shot him a death glare as a glum Namjoon had placed you gently on the ground.
“Sorry. Hope I didn’t make that awkward. I just… you were falling and…”
“It’s alright, Joon. Thank you.” Your smile was earnest. You watched the way his reaction played across his face like a movie. It made you want to kiss him. “Besides, I should’ve put the tallest man on the job in the first place.”
His dimples had reappeared then, and you’d felt the oxygen in the room go thin.
You’d been avoiding him ever since.
Pressing up off your IKEA futon and stepping around the push up - off a shirtless Jungkook was currently doing as Jimin sat cross legged on his back and Taehyung counted, you set off to find Namjoon.
In less than six hundred square feet, there weren’t many places he could go. Everyone else was in the kitchen/living room. That really only left the open bathroom, the balcony- which your sister and Hoseok were currently cuddled up on, watching the snow fall- and your bedroom.
You weren’t sure what you’d expected to find when you pushed open the door, but somehow Namjoon folded up on the floor studying the lower tier of your bookshelf actually made loads of sense. You hadn’t been aware someone that large could fold themselves into something so small. His long fingers trailed over the spines of your favorite books and something in your lower belly swirled.
You could have spent the rest of the night just watching him read.
That, however, even in your own home, might be kinda creepy so you decided to announce your presence instead.
“Howdy stranger,” you crooned, leaning shoulder first into the door jamb.
Namjoon startled, clutching his chest like you’d just given him a heart attack. His long limbs flailed, knocking into the bookshelf like the baby moose he was, sending a small picture frame careening down onto his head. It knocked his Santa hat off kilter, leaving the beautiful man looking like a bamboozled disaster.
Your laughter filled the room as he collected himself, straightening his hat and placing your frame back on the shelf. You came to sit beside him, hugging your knee and leaning one shoulder into his.
“Whatcha doing? Whatcha reading, more importantly?” You shot him a pointed look paired with a smile you hoped was disarming.
“Oh. Uh, nothing yet. I didn’t mean to pry. I just… well there was so much going on in the living room. I just wanted to get some air so I stepped in here, but I ended up getting lost in your book collection.”
His fingers trailed their spines again, and you felt a shiver down yours.
“You like to read?”
It was a pitiful question on your part really. Clearly he did. He was surrounded by your personal mini library, and it was the most comfortable you’d seen him be all day.
“Oh it’s the best thing, really. You can learn so much about a person by looking at the things they like to read.”
“And what have you learned about me?”
You felt yourself hold your breath as he looked down, dimples daring to show themselves again now that the two of you were in a private place.
“Well, it seems like you appreciate the classics, for one.”
His finger traced the curve of letters embossed in gold on an ivory spine.
“I went through an intense thrift shopping phase over the last few years. I got kind of obsessive about collecting beautiful books,” you confessed.
“You should come to my store sometime then. You’d love the first editions section.”
There was a pride glittering in beautiful dark brown eyes, the first swell of something like confidence showing in them.
“You work at a bookstore too?” You tilted your head to the side in question as his trademark sheepishness returned.
“Um, own. Co-own, really. Between me, Seokjin and Yoongi.”
“Stop- seriously?” You felt yourself press into his space without meaning to. The sharp, earthy smells of cedar and pine still swirled on him, but underneath that was soft clean soap. You found yourself wanting to press your nose into his throat. You realized too late that your eyes had been doing it for you, and Namjoon had caught you doing it.
Cleaning his throat, something in him seemed to grow bold.
He didn’t shy away anymore. He pressed up off the palms he’d been leaning back on and leaned into your space like you did into his. His thumb pulled your bottom lip out of your teeth, tracing along the edge of it softly.
“Seriously.”He whispered, the timber of his voice deep as winter.
His deep set gaze grew heavy as the moment lingered. You caught sight of his tongue flicking out to wet his full lips as his thumb traced yours and suddenly you felt all your grace leave you all at once.
“You should stay.”
It came out breathy, soft. You knew your face must have given away how molten you felt beneath his touch. He chuckled gently, eyes warm as he smirked. Only half a dimple this time, you noticed.
“Stay?” He arched a brow your way.
“When the others leave… you should stay.”
It was crazy, but the lightheaded part of you that was under his spell couldn’t think of anything else she wanted more.
Suddenly, he was soft again. Eyes no longer serpentine but wide. Kind.
“Is that… would you… like that?”
You smiled at him, sweet as strawberries, and then you were kissing him.
Just once. Slow, gentle, but deep.
There was a hint of cinnamon on his lips. Hobi had picked up some horchata at his favorite taqueria on the way back. He must have given some to Joon. You smiled against his mouth, licked into it once. Felt his chest vibrate with the groan it created.
When you pulled back, he was dazed, staring at you like you were made of stars. Eyeing you like he wanted to know what else you were made of. His lip bitten like he was too hungry to wait.
“Stay.” You breathed again.
“I’ll stay.” He whispered back.
────────────────────────
When the last person had left the apartment, you’d locked the door behind them.
Suddenly it was truly just you and him.
You’d turned, back to your front door and looked at him, eyes sultry, smile sweet.
Namjoon was across the room, too busy drinking you in to remember how to move. But you hadn’t forgotten, it seemed. You took your time crossing the small room. The vivid lights cast bursts of blue and red across your skin- it made your eyes look unearthly, tempting in a way Namjoon was incapable of fighting.
You stopped in front of him, palms pressed to his chest. He felt his eyelids grow heavy at the sensation, but he wouldn’t let his eyes close. Not yet. He didn’t want to miss a moment of you.
You slid your hands up his chest, alongside his throat, skimming his jaw and cupping his face. You stood between his legs and god, did he want to rock his hips against you. You were already leaning into him, your hips pressed into his pelvis. What were his corduroys gonna do? He knew you could feel him already swelling against you.
Your brushed soft thumbs across the angles of his face. He reciprocated by tenderly pushing your hair out of your face. Was your heart racing like his?
Slipping his hands down, he tugged the buckle of your belt forward into him with a thunk. He crept his thumbs beneath the sweater you’d tucked into your high black jeans, and let his fingers swirl against your stomach, smoothing over the dips at your waist. Your body was so soft. He felt himself grow warmer, swell against you harder. When your eyes clouded over and your bit your lip, he knew he was sunk.
“I’m gonna take this off now, okay ?” He whispered, tugging at your sweater as you nodded, glassy eyed and obedient, up at him. Jesus.
Why was he whispering? He didn’t know. It just felt right, he thought. Felt right like being beside you all night had felt. Felt right like he knew being inside you was gonna feel.
When he slipped the sweater up over your head, your earring got caught. A little gold hoop snagged in the knit.
Breathe, he reminded himself, go slow. You don’t have to rush.
He soon realized that was advice he was going to need to take to heart in more ways than one the second he untangled you and saw your glittering smile glowing brightly, saw the way your breasts were spilling smooth and fleshy over the confines of your lacy little balconette bra.
Jesus. Fuck.
Turns out he’d said both out loud and your glossy eyes grew hungrier the longer he looked at you.
“Do something, daddy.” You teased, voice low, gaze heady.
“Christ, y/n,” he drawled as his self-control blacked out.
Soon he was pushing your breasts together, burying his face between them. Sucking one into his warm mouth, scooping the other loose from the dark lace. He had one large hand firmly fitted just behind the buckle of your jeans as the other cupped your breast that wasn’t in his mouth, thumb diligently flicking your nipple until it grew stiff like a meringue peak. He slipped that one in his mouth then, tongue picking up pace his thumb had set and tweaking the nipple on your other breast.
You panted beneath his touch, sinking and molding into him like warm clay in his hands. He wasn’t sure when his hips had started to glide against you, but god, yours were moving too, supple and fluid like water. He needed to get you out of the rest of these clothes. He needed to find out if he could mark your breasts and neck black and purple with his mouth like he wanted to while he fucked you. You really did taste sweet, just like he thought you would. God, he wanted to take a bite out of you.
Pleasantries first though, he reminded himself.
Pushing his head back against the wall, he tried to catch his breath but your nimble fingers were working open the snaps on his corduroys instead.
“Question-“ he asked breathless.
“Answer,” you grinned, triumphant as you finally popped the latch on his pants.
“Jesus, fuck. Cripes.” His eyes fluttered shut as you ran his zipper down and reached beneath his boxer briefs to grab him.
“Which one of those was a question?” You smirked, licking your thumb before brushing it gently across the fleshy tip of him. His stomach dipped in, toned muscle crunching in on itself as your big man buckled under your touch.
“Okay, okay okay. I’m gonna have to ask this quick before you make me spontaneously finish on your tits touching me like that. Whew.” His eyes were blown, head back. Unprepared for you licking more fingers and slipping back down to gingerly play with his balls. “Oh my gooooooood. Okay. Okay. Okay. Marks?”
“Like hickies?” You asked curiously, your hand moving of its own accord to grip him firmly at the base and pull up.
“Yeah, yeah hickies,” he panted, his pretty skin growing sweaty.
“I like that.” You smiled, wide and way too pretty for him to handle right now.”it’s winter. Go crazy, big boy.”
He nodded raggedly, his brow furrowed deep as he bit his lip. He almost looked angry, he had no way of knowing it made you incredibly aroused.
“Tits. I like your…tits. A lot. So much. They’re so pretty.”
You smiled into his throat as you kissed his neck and pumped him silly.
“Joonieee, youre so sweet.” You nipped at his collarbone, giggling at shiver that ran through him.
“Would it… could I… Jesus, woman, why are you so good at that? Screw this. Fuck it. Can I cum on you, your chest at the end of this?” His eyes were direct now, serpentine and lusty as he licked his lips, ran a thumb along the swell of your breast.
“Yeah ?” You ran your tongue along his neck, sending another tremor through him.
“Yeah. You’d look so pretty with my cum on your chest. I mean, they look so pretty already, but Yeah, god yeah I want that.” he nodded.
“Okay. Promise. You can finish on my pretty titties, if you want.” You laughed.
“I want.”
“I’ll even let you fuck them if you want.”
“Christ. You said…what?” He was out of breath, lightheaded from the thought of himself being pressed between the two warm pillowy clouds on your chest.
“Uh huh, if you don’t finish inside me first, that is,” you breathed in his ear.
“Oh my god. Not fair. Get on the bed, now.” He said it with an edge, a grit you didn’t expect from your sweet nervous Christmas tree man. A bite that made you want to obey. Made you want to fuck his brains out. Made you want to be his baby girl so you followed along and played nice. He fumbled with your belt as you melted. You did what you were told and climbed back on up onto the bed, stripping the rest of the way for him along the way.
────────────────────────
As he followed, he pulled his thick wool sweater over his head, black hair falling in gorgeous eyes as he did. The full reveal of his torso left the space between your legs glossy and sticky in ways you hadn’t known it could be. His Jeans and black boxer briefs went next and then he was climbing up and over you, golden and lanky and strong and hung.
Jesus , fuck, Indeed.
He smiled at you, sourdough dimples and serpentine eyes as he slowed down.
“I’m gonna kiss you, okay?”
You nodded, obedient, nervous, eager. You wanted him. God, how did you describe how badly you wanted Kim Namjoon? His lips were plump, sweet, inexhaustibly delicious. His tongue slipped deep into your mouth, his hand firm but sweet on your hip as it climbed up your torso.
Your tits were in his mouth again, tongue flicking wildly as he moaned around your fullness and your nipple. He tweaked the other, switching back and forth as he rutted his too big dick into the meat of your thigh.
“Question,” you gasped, breathless.
“Answer, baby,” his hooded eyes were looking darkly up at you as his thumb slipped its way down to gloss smoothly over your silky clit. You cried out, and he smiled, mouth still filled with your voluptuous tit.
“Daddy?” You questioned, and the primal groan that rattled through his chest and through the sharp twitch of his dick against your leg answered any further queries you had to ask.
“Yes, please, baby. “
He slid up to suck a dark splotch into your neck, his dick sliding up and catching on the slippery ridge of your clit as he did.
“I can call you that ? Can I call you daddy?” You gasped.
He simply nodded, dropping kisses along your collarbone and throat as he lined up to finally slip inside you. The fit was snug, the drag of him along your inner walls sublime as he rocked, working you more and more open to the massive size of him. You smiled, delirious, giddy, as he fucked you like you were divine.
You came three times that night, he came twice. Once inside you and once on your pretty tits. Then one more time down your throat in the morning.
────────────────────────
“There’s not much, but I have…. Let’s see. Coffee, kombucha, seokjin’s leftover gingerbread men… oh and eggs. Can I make you eggs?” You fluttered your lashes up at him. “I’d really like to make you eggs.”
Namjoon looked so cute. Face puffy, lips full. Hair still damp from the shower he took. You’d both been too nervous to shower together, so you’d taken turns and done it separately. You thanked god you actually owned two bath towels to make it possible. He was so adorable. It made you want to cook for the man.
“Sure,” he nodded. Mercy, his voice was even deeper in the morning. He’d barely used it so far today, aside from the sexy groans that had spilled out of him this morning when you’d woken him up with your cheek resting sweetly on his inner thigh and his cock in your warm mouth. (You’d gotten consent the night before, of course.)
“Um, how do you take your coffee? And is scrambled okay? I make really good scrambled eggs.”
He smiled warmly, his gruff exterior softening with your exuberance. He nodded his assent and you got to work getting out the egg carton, your chopsticks, the milk and your lone skillet.
“Oh, wait. Your coffee, how do you take your coffee?”
You turned in your robe, a harsh pivot, just to accidentally end up nose to Namjoon’s sweatshirt covered tits with an Ooof.
He kissed your hair, a deep chuckle from the depths of his throat booming through his chest. He was wearing one of your giant college sweatshirts ( that fit just on the roomy side of just right on him) and his black boxer briefs, his substantial thighs looking gorgeous as ever as he stood barefoot in your kitchen. What a turn of events.
He slipped his sturdy arms around your waist from behind, pushing up against the underside of your boobs and buried his blushing face in your hair.
“Black. Just a little cream is good.” He murmured as you sank back against him.
You weren’t used to how soothing another person’s presence could be.
“Gotcha. I’ll grab the-“
He chuckled, pulling you tightly into him to stop your scurrying.
“Shhh. I got it. Thank you.” He pressed a kiss deep into the skin on your neck. It melted you just a little bit further into the solidity of him.
“For what?”
“Last night. This morning. Yesterday. All of it.”
His confidence dipped again. Cockiness replaced by a sincerity so disarming you felt your heart dip softly. He’s so sweet, you thought as you gently caressed the forearm he had draped over your stomach.
“Yes, well…I ….” it was then you realized you didn’t know what to say. In lieu of words, you kissed his palm.
“You’re already making us breakfast. Least I can do is grab my own coffee… you want some?” He nudged the tip of his nose against the top of your ear.
Being that close to his voice made you shiver. You nodded without realizing it. The sound of his voice made you want to be so obedient to him. Why were you so turned on by him being kind, damnit ?
His hands fitted themselves to your hips, pushing the fullness of your bottom back against his hips. You were about to tell him you take yours with sugar and more cream than coffee when your phone began to ring.
Startled, you bolted out of his arms to find… your sister trying to FaceTime you?
Kissing Namjoon’s cheek, you stepped away to answer. Queuing up the screen, you were thoroughly unprepared for brilliant, happy screams pealing through the phone. There was too much motion to make out an image at first, until finally. you caught a glimpse of sparkle. It was the ring Hoseok had shown you a picture of the day he decided to custom order it for your sister.
“Hobi proposed!!!” Your sister squealed. No regard for the neighbors, this one.
“When?”
“Last night. When we got home. Y/n it was perfect…. I could tell he seemed weird when we were on the balcony yesterday, oddly stiff. Like he was trying to tell me something, but it wasn’t making any sense. I teased him and told him to try again later. I was just being dumb- I didn’t know! but when we got home, I had gone upstairs to change out of my Christmas tree clothes and when I came back. He was on his knees in the kitchen.”
Your sister clasped a hand over her mouth as her eyes filled with happy tears. Smart boy, he’d listened to you and Namjoon.
“Y/n, I’m gonna be a wife. I'm gonna marry Hobi. Y/n, I’m so happy I could cry,” she sniffled as tears spilled over the backs of her knuckles.
“Baby, you are crying,” you teased, your own eyes growing glassy too.
“Hey, that’s MY BABY” you heard Hoseok yell from somewhere off camera.
“She was mine first,” you stuck your tongue out petulantly.
“Congrats, man!” Namjoon cheered from his spot by your coffee pot.
“Thanks bro!” Hoseok called back.
“Wait.” Your sister started….
Oh no.
“Was that…” Hoseok added.
No. No. No. no. No.
“Oh my god. Y/n, was that Namjoon?! Did he spend the night?!? Oh my gosh are you two in love now?!?
Startled you let you out something between a yelp and a shriek, dropping your phone on the carpet.
“Did you hold onto those arms of his all night?” Your sister teased.
“Wait-“ Hoseok interrupted ,” do you have a thing for Namjoon’s arms babe?”
“Everyone does,” your sister quipped.” You do too Hobi.”
“That’s not the point… eh! We’re Balenciaga buddies!” Hoseok cheered, the snap of elastic ringing through the air.
Apparently your phone fell in such a way that the camera gave them a beautiful view of Namjoon’s sleek black briefs and the tree trunks they were stretched around.
“Stop objectifying him!” You scolded Hoseok.
“I will when you do!” He taunted.
“Oh my god I can’t do this.” Pinching the bridge of your nose, you sighed as Namjoon scooped both you and your phone up from behind again
“Then I will.” He whispered in your ear. “Congratulations you guys!”
Hoseok and your sister gushed something sticky sweet about how obnoxiously in love you and Namjoon were and you couldn’t help it, you smiled too. You told your sister how happy you were for her, promising to call her later with all the juicy details before finally hanging up the phone and burying your face in Namjoon’s hard tiddy. Which he flexed for you, god bless him, before also flexing his yummy, yummy arms around you until you burst into a fit of giggles.
“I like this,” he whispered softly, pressing a kiss to your temple.
“Me too…. Got any plans today?.”
“Nope. I’m off the rest of the weekend.”
“Wanna go grocery shopping with me after I cook you eggs?”
“Are you just using me for my car?” He squinted slyly at you with a smile.
“No. That hadn’t occurred to me actually. I was actually planning on using your height and your body for my own personal benefit.” You answered thoughtfully.
“Oh.” His eyes went a bit wide like he hadn’t thought about that option. “Well. Then. Can I use you for yours?” He asked innocently.
“Sure. Although, you should know, I’m all talk. I’m the biggest softie…. I’m pretty sure if you’d asked me to marry you when we were talking tree-sourcing ethics, I would have strongly considered saying yes.”
Crap. You hadn’t planned on admitting all that. This was his fault. He was just so damn sincere. Those stupid eyes of his were so goddamn kind. You kept forgetting to put a guard up around him.
As you braced for him to be thoroughly traumatized by your admission, nothing of the sort came. He didn’t say a word. Instead, he hugged you beneath the ribs and hoisted you in a circle, nuzzling his cheek tenderly into your cheek.
“Oh thank GOD” he exhaled.
“I’m sorry- what?”
“I’ve spent all morning trying to figure out how to tell you how much I like you without making you feel like you might become the subject of the next true crime podcast.” He ran a hand through his silky hair as you stood stunned where he’d set you down to process his words.
“You….”
“Yeah…”
“That bad?”
“Honestly I’m not opposed to taking your last name if you asked me.” He shrugged.
You covered your face with both hands, shaking it ruefully despite the cosmically bright smile on your face. Soon you were both howling with laughter in each other’s arms, smiling into Namjoon’s deep eyes.
“This is crazy! We’re crazy.”
“I know.” He nodded in agreement.
“I like you.”
“I really like you.”
“I don’t know the first thing about you.”
“Let’s find out together, shall we?”
You felt your eyes fill with annoyingly happy tears. “Yeah, okay. I’d like that.”
“You just moved here right?”
“Yeah. Finally- should have done it ages ago. My turn-Why do you and Hoseok have matching designer underwear ?”
“We all do actually. It was Jimin and Seokjins doing a couple Christmases ago.”
“But just one pair each right?”
“Yeah?” Namjoon nodded, brows hunched in confusion.
“Okay. So that means you’re telling me you and Hobi just happened to be on the same daily boxer rotation the day you both fucked a pair of sisters with the same DNA?”
“Please don’t word it that way.” Namjoon grimaced.
“I worded it how it is,” you shrugged.
“My turn. Why do you really want me to go to the grocery with you, Hmm?” He wiggled his eyebrows.
“Besides the company? For the view when I make you stretch for everything I’ve ever needed on the top shelf, Babyyy.”
“Oh my god. Are you serious?” He couldn’t contain his laughter.
“As a heart attack.” You winked.
“C’mon. Show me how you make these super fluffy eggs I’ve heard so much about. I’m starving. The gorgeous girl who owns this apartment milked me dry three times in less than twelve hours. I’m famished.”
Goddamn him and those cheeky little dimples.

“Why does it look like Santa’s Wonderland at the mall threw up all over the fucking living room?” Yoongi shrugged off his snow-dusted coat, hanging it on the rack by the door as he cautiously peered into the living room - now softly aglow in twinkling Christmas lights. A fire was going in the fireplace and there were stockings hung over the mantel. Yoongi didn’t even know you all had stockings.
“You’ll have to talk to Y/N about all that,” Taehyung grinned, carefully threading the ribbon of an ornament through a branch of the tree.
“Y/N….” Yoongi’s tone was low and you peeked out from behind the Christmas tree with your best puppydog look - the one you knew damn well was his ultimate weakness.
“Don’t you like it, Yoon?” You asked, pushing your bottom lip out slightly in your best pout. Jiminie would be so proud.
Speaking of….
“Oh good! You’re back from the studio, just in time for cocoa and Christmas movies!” Jimin thrust a mug of steaming cocoa into Yoongi’s hand before he could protest. “Unless, you’re going to be a total Scrooge.”
Yoongi stuck his tongue out at Jimin, “I’m not being a total Scrooge, Min. It’s just…we’ve never done anything like this before. Hell, I didn’t even know the fireplace worked, much less that we had stockings and a tree hidden up somewhere.”
“I might have done a bit of shopping,” you admitted, coming around from the Christmas tree to stand before him, pout still working overtime. Jimin flashed you a quick wink, his approval of your level of pout. “Y-you aren’t mad, are you?”
Yoongi softened instantly. You could see him visibly thaw. “Oh baby…” Yoongi set his cocoa down on the coffee table, before pulling you into a hug, “Not mad at all, doll. Just wasn’t expecting it, is all. We’ve never done Christmas before.”
“Well that was before,” Seokjin said, coming up behind you to press a kiss to the back of your head while reaching around to ruffle Yoongi’s still snow-flecked hair.
“I think it looks nice,” Taehyung said, hanging another ornament, “It’s about time we get into the Christmas spirit around here, don’t you think?”
“I picked out the tree,” Namjoon grinned, opening another box of ornaments.
“It looks great, Joon,” Yoongi smiled warmly to him, “Where’s, Sunshine and Koo?”
“Hope’s picking up takeaway for us,” you said, snuggling against Yoongi’s chest. He smelled of winter and something distinctly Yoongi - tobacco and leather and warmth. “And Jungkook’s probably still in the kitchen trying to eat the cookie batter.”
Yoongi ran a hand through your hair, looking down at you with such love in his eyes, such warmth. He booped your nose before releasing you and making his way over to the Christmas tree. “It is a pretty great tree, Joon.”
“So you aren’t mad we used your credit card to get it?” Jimin asked, sneaking up behind Yoongi and hooking his chin over his shoulder.
“Park Jimin….”
“He’s kidding,” Jin shook his head, flicking Jimin on the earlobe.
Jimin rolled his eyes, coming up behind you and wrapping his arms around your waist, hugging you to him. “You did a great job, Y/N. It’s never looked better in here, truly.”
“It feels like a home,” Namjoon’s gaze caught Yoongi’s and they shared something silent between the two of them.
You knew ever since they had first gotten together, before the rest of you had all joined this little family, that they’d struggled quite a bit. It both made your chest ache and warm at the thought of them finally having a proper Christmas, finally having a proper home together.
“It’s all Y/N,” Taehyung cooed, pinching your cheek, “I would never have even thought of the cinnamon candles if it weren’t for Y/N!”
“Why don’t you put the star on the top of the tree, Yoon,” Namjoon offered.
Yoongi’s eyes widened briefly before you handed him the pretty gold star and Namjoon hoisted him up to reach the top of the tree with ease. You let the two of them have their moment before sneaking off into the kitchen to rescue the cookie batter from Jungkook.
“Is there even any batter left for the cookies or is it all in your stomach?” You asked, catching him as he popped the wooden spoon into his mouth. Jungkook grinned around the mouthful of cookie batter.
“ ‘s delicious! Can’t help it! What do you put into these, Y/N?”
“A dash of almond extract,” You grabbed for the mixing bowl, moving at away from him, “You’re gonna get sick,” you scolded half-heartedly.
Jungkook pouted, bottom lip jutting out even worse than yours and Jimin’s. “But if I do, you’ll take care of me right, princess? Nurse me back to health?”
“Absolutely not,” You peeked at the clock on the oven, grabbing for an oven mit. You swatted Jungkook on the hip with it before slipping it on and pulling out the previous batch of cookies. Jungkook reached his hand towards the baking sheet before you could even set it on the stove to cool.
“You’re going to burn your hand! And your mouth! And no one is going to feel any sympathy for you if you do.”
The bottom lip slipped back out, doe-eyes wide.
You softened. “You can have one once it cools, baby. It’ll taste better then anyway.”
“Fine,” Jungkook folded his arms over his chest as you began to slide the cookies from the tray onto a cooling rack, “But if you’re going to deny me cookies, can I at least get a kiss in their place?”
Rolling your eyes, you sat the baking sheet down and indulged him. He tasted of almond and cinnamon and vanilla and sweetness.
“That better tide you over until these cool,” you tried to sound scolding, which was really rather hard to do after being kissed breathless by Jeon Jungkook.
“Alright you kids,” Jin stuck his head into the kitchen, “Hope is back with dinner and we’re ready to start the movie. Y/N you pick tonight. Any Christmas movie you want.”
Heading out to the living room, you saw your boyfriends getting snuggled into onto the couches and recliners, tucked into their plates of takeaway, snuggled against one another.
“Y/N!” Hobi waved you over, handing you your styrofoam plate, “I got you your favorite, extra honey walnut shrimp!”
“Thanks, Hope,” you pressed a kiss to his cheek.
“I want Y/N to sit with me,” Jungkook pouted from somewhere on the couch.
“No, you got to sit with Y/N last time,” Taehyung protested, “It’s my turn!”
“No, it’s mine!” Jimin argued.
“Babies!” Jin held up a hand, “Y/N isn’t going to sit with either of you if you argue over Y/N like a toy. Sit wherever you’d like, angel,” Jin sent you a soft smile and you melted under his attention and ability to get Jimin, Jungkook, and Taehyung to yield.
You glanced around the living room. Yoongi was already sitting on Namjoon’s lap while Namjoon spoon-fed him bites of broccoli beef in one of the recliners. Jin was making his way towards his favorite overly-stuffed chair and you knew Hobi would probably wind up in his lap too. The maknaes were staring at you with wide, puppy eyes.
“I’m going to sit between Jimin and Tae,” you announced, while Jungkook visibly deflated.
You walked over to him, cradling his face in your hands as you lifted his head, “But I’m sleeping in your bed tonight.”
Jungkook let out a happy sequel and you couldn’t help but laugh. You weren’t far off from happy-squealing yourself at the prospect of spending the night cuddled in his arms under his warm blankets.
“Good,” Jimin smirked, reaching for his beer on the coffee table as you sunk down on the couch between him and Tae. Tae instinctively snuggled closer to you. “You steal all the blankets anyway—eek!” You smirked, withdrawing your fingers from his side with a triumphant smile.
“Brat,” Jimin stuck his tongue out at you. “You’re lucky I’ve got a plate of food on my lap right now or else you’d definitely get it.”
“Alright kids,” Jin called over the ruckus, “Y/N, what movie would you like to watch?”
“Well, it just isn’t Christmas without It’s a Wonderful Life.”
“It’s a Wonderful Life, it is, then!” Namjoon reached around Yoongi to grab the remote off the arm of his chair, pulling up the movie.
“Christmas movies, a fire going in the fireplace, an actual Christmas tree, cookies cooling, and cocoa waiting for us,” Hobi sunk down into Jin’s lap as you’d expected, “Y/N, you’re spoiling us here. Almost going to make refined gentlemen out of us.”
Taehyung reached around and gave Jimin a wet willie just for prosperity.
“Ack! Why am I getting bullied tonight, huh?” Jimin swatted at him.
“Alright you two,” Yoongi shot them a look from his place on Namjoon’s lap, “Settle down and eat your dinner and watch the movie.”
“Hobi is right though,” Namjoon pressed his nose against Yoongi’s shoulder blade before continuing, “You really do take such good care of us, Y/N. The place looks amazing, and it finally has this warmth touch to it I just know is from you. You came into our lives and thawed out all our icey edges, angel. We’re so thankful to you for that.”
Your eyes watered and as if sensing, both Jimin and Taehyung cuddled up against you. Jimin pressing kisses to your cheek while Taehyung stroked your hair.
“It’s true,” Jin said. “You really do look after us all so well. We’re meant to be the ones looking after you, but you take care of us just as well if not more.”
“We take care of each other,” you corrected, “You are all deserving of a good and wonderful Christmas. And it’s not about the decorations or the fire or the cocoa and cookies. It’s about all of us just being together…sharing a moment like this together. I’d have been content to just spend Christmastime with you without a tree and ornaments if it meant just spending it with the seven of you by my side. But the tree, all of this…it’s something I can do to outwardly show you how much I love you and how much I want this Christmas to be special. It’s our first together.”
“The first of many,” Jimin said, letting a kiss wander slightly just to the corner of your mouth.
“The first of every from here on out,” Taehyung nodded.
“You’re like our Christmas angel, Y/N,” Jungkook said from his place on the floor. You bent down to press a kiss to the back of his head.
“And your my Christmas angels too,” you said.
“I think I’m a fairy this week, actually,” said Jimin.
“We’re such cheesballs, oh my god,” Taehyung jokingly cringed.
“Does the fairy feel like hushing up so we can watch the damn movie?” Yoongi asked, pulling a teasing face to Jimin, the way he always did when he spoke harshly and needed Jimin to know he was being playful.
Jimin reached behind him for one of the throw pillows to toss at him, but you were quick to snatch it from his hand and set it carefully out of his reach.
“Sorry,” Jimin mumbled.
“It’s okay,” you pressed a kiss to his cheek.
That night, after a night of movies and cookies and cocoa and admiring the Christmas tree all twinkingly with soft lights in the darkness of the livingroom, you found yourself wrapped up in Jungkook’s arms in his oversized bed, cuddled under the warmth of almost a dozen blankets. Jungkook loved blankets. Almost as much as he loved his air purifiers and you.
“My tummy hurts, I think I ate too many Christmas cookies,” Jungkook grumbled.
“What did I tell you about sympathy, hmm?”
Jungkook propped up on his elbow, giving you a stink-eye, “Don’t be mean, Y/N. They were so yummy! Never had Christmas cookies that delicious before.”
You raised a brow, “Oh is that so? Best not let your mother hear you ever say that, Koo.”
Jungkook giggled, pressing closer next to you, “She’d think so too. She adores you, you know.”
“Does she?” You asked, holding your breath slightly. You always were so anxious about where you stood with their families. You never would forget the one day you cracked a joke and somehow made Yoongi’s dad laugh. Now, whenever Yoon would go home to visit, his dad would sneak him little gifts to give to you.
“Mmhmm,” Jungkook nodded, “You’re a part of our family, Y/N. That goes for all of us and all our families. You belong here. It’s like Hobi-hyung said…you made this place feel more like home since you’ve been a part of us. Today just shows how much warmth you really bring to us. You really are our angel, Y/N. And not just a Christmas one at that.”
Your eyes grew misty and before you could try to think of something to say, Jungkook pulled you to his chest. You closed your eyes, breathing him in and letting yourself melt against him. It was going to be a wonderful Christmas this year. You pressed a kiss to Jungkook’s bare chest, just above his heart.
It was going to be a wonderful life.

The holidays always went a little too fast for your liking. You didn’t know when it Christmas had come, shown its colours, and left; it felt like yesterday that you were preparing for Halloween. And yet, the wispy bits of fluffy snow falling from the sky said that it had been long since that time. You could feel the frosty bits of snow crunching under your feet as you trudged out of the airport into the lanes of the town.
In the distance, you could see the festive hubbub that surrounded your town - with officials figuring out logistics for lights and trees, vendors setting up their markets and little kids toying about with the snow: everything was exactly the same as you remembered when you had last been here.
“10 years,” you whispered to yourself, a small smile forming on your lips. “Hello again.”
Your family had once called this town home, back when you and your siblings were young kids. Time had flown away like the little snow flakes did now, and forced you all to move away from your home to build a future of your own. Normally, you would have wanted to be with your friends and family to celebrate the holidays, but something oddly made you want to come back here.
Making sure you had your belongings, you asked around to figure out where your lodge was located, not recognising a lot of the shops that now decorated the streets. Your parents had recommended a lodge they had first stayed in when they came here, one out of two cabins owned by a family friend who had since shifted to New York. They let you rent out one for the holidays, and encouraged you to get acquainted with the stranger who would be renting the other cabin around the same time - “wouldn’t hurt to make a new friend,”  they’d said.
A tap on your shoulder broke your reverie. “Y/N?” A voice called behind you, making you turn to face the person in question. Dressed cosily in a green sweater that screamed the holiday spirit with vibrant red hearts and candy canes all over it, it was a man, snowflakes settling in his fluffed up brown hair. He was tall in a way that made you stretch your neck up to look at his big smile, and his eyes had a soft crinkle to them, as if you had just shared a funny anecdote.
“I’m Hoseok,” he mentioned, stretching out a hand. “I figured you’re the other person staying at the Woodson’s cabin, aren’t you?”
You accepted his hand, surprised at the warmth instantly engulfing your frosty fingers. “Yeah, I am. How did you know it was me, though?”
He grinned, tilting his head to look at your heavy bags - as if they were a clear indication. “No one really travels alone with three big bags to this town unless they’re planning a long vacation.”
You smiled sheepishly. “Yeah, I guess that kinda gave it away.” You could feel him staring at you as if trying to figure out what kind of a person his neighbour for the next few days was like.
Hoseok flashed a friendly smile. "Well, it's nice to meet you, Y/N. I’ve got my car here, so if you don’t mind, we can get to the cabin together? Let me help you with those bags." He effortlessly grabbed two of your heavy bags, leaving you with just one.
“Thank you,” you said, following after him and settling into the warmth of his car. Helping him load your luggage on the car, Hoseok immediately ran off inside the car, immediately cranking the heat on. You couldn’t help but laugh as he gestured for you to come in quickly.
“Not a fan of the cold, I presume?” you asked.
“Brrrr,” he shivered, rubbing his palms together and blowing at them. “I love the aesthetics of cold weather, but absolutely hate the feeling of cold.” Starting the car, he slowly drove out of the parking lot, suddenly grinning to himself. “By the way, Y/N? You haven’t asked me for any proof of who I am,” he hesitated, looking over to you cautiously as if to detect any signs of panic.
You froze at his words, realising his perspective: you had just trusted an absolute stranger and gotten in the car. “Should I be worried, though?” You tried to play it off casually.
“I would suggest being worried, and not being relieved until you were sure I was the right person to approach you,” he said, lips pursed and hands tense on the steering wheel. “I could be really dangerous.”
For some reason, that stunned you, and yet, it made you burst out into laughter.
Hoseok looked at you confused. “What?”
Gasping for breath, you could barely stop your laughter enough to calm Hoseok’s concerned face. “Mrs. Woodson is a family friend, Hoseok. She’d already told me about you, and how you’ve been here for a few weeks at the cabin. I did recognise you a few seconds after you spoke to me.”  You grinned. “It would have been concerning if I did blindly trust you and get in the car, though.”
Hseok dramatically breathed out, as if a huge tension had been lifted off of his chest. “Well, at least you knew who I was. Imagine if you didn’t know anyone or anything in this town and got all lost? I would feel terrible.”
You settled into your seat, humming in agreement with him. “I do know this town well enough, though. I have lived here for long enough to know these streets, even if they’re more colourful now than then.”
Hoseok smiled. “Ahh, so you lived here too.”
You turned to him in surprise. “You, too?”
He nodded. “I lived here for some years when I was younger. I don’t have very strong memories of this place here - I moved away with my dad after my parents divorced, you see - and came here only sometimes to visit my mom while she still lived here. And when all my family moved from here, I didn’t really have a reason to come back here as much.” He smiled softly. “But then, I just felt like I wanted to be here this year, alone, yes, but in a place I first started enjoying the holidays.”
You hummed in agreement, understanding the sentiment.
He pointed to the houses you were crossing outside, all cheerfully decorated in lights and decor. ‘I used to rank the houses by their decor every year, and then go to the house I ranked first to tell them that they won,” he said, making you both laugh. “I wonder if the owners are still the same people.”
“I would hope so, too,” you said. “‘My family and I had loads of friends we lost touch with. It would be nice to meet some of them.”
The road to the cabin was a long one, you knew, and yet, you weren’t as bothered about travelling a long distance as you thought you would be. Hoseok’s company and your childhood nostalgia got the best of you, keeping the conversation in good spirits as you made your way to the cabin.
As you climbed the steps up to the Woodson's cabin, Hoseok spoke up, "By the way, if you ever need anything or have any trouble, feel free to knock on my door. We're practically neighbours for the next few days." He knocked at his door jokingly, before showing you into your cabin.
You nodded in gratitude, feeling a sense of warmth in both the gesture and the offer.
The Woodson's cabin was a rustic haven nestled amidst a picturesque snowy landscape. Its exterior, adorned with a glistening layer of snow, exuded a quaint charm that perfectly complemented the festive spirit of the holidays. A trail of footprints led to the wooden porch, where a wreath of pine cones and twinkling lights welcomed visitors.
Upon entering, the warm aroma of burning pine logs greeted you, emanating from a grand fireplace that stood as the heart of the cozy abode. The crackling flames cast dancing shadows on the log walls, revealing a collection of Wooderson family mementoes – framed photographs capturing moments of laughter, family gatherings, and snowy adventures. The memories were frozen in time, a testament to the cabin's rich history and the cherished moments shared by generations past.
The living area featured plush, oversized chairs and a well-worn sofa, adorned with festive throw blankets that beckoned you to sink in and relish the comfort. The windows, framed by heavy curtains, offered panoramic views of the snow-covered landscape, while the soft glow of fairy lights added a touch of enchantment.
In the corner of the cabin, a towering Christmas tree stood adorned with an array of ornaments, casting a festive hue that bathed the room in a warm and inviting light. A quaint dining table, draped with a red-and-green checkered tablecloth, held the remnants of a shared meal, as the remnants of peppermint hot cocoa lingered in the air.

A quaint dining table, draped with a red-and-green checkered tablecloth adorned the center of the cabin as the fragrance of toasted peppermint lingered in the air.
Hoseok bashfully scratched his head. “I may or may not have used your stove to make myself some Christmassy drinks.”
You grinned. “Was it something with peppermint?”
“How did you know?” Hoseok asked, nodding in agreement as he stacked the washed and dried mug back in the cabinet. “I’ve always loved a good old mint flavoured drink, and ‘tis the season for peppermint, isn’t it?”
Seeing your vigorous agreement, Hoseok offered to whip up a drink for you while you settled your belongings in the cabin.
“I’ll start the fireplace,” Hoseok called after you, busying away in the hall while you made your way to the bedroom.
It felt like ages since you had sat by yourself, giving yourself time to do nothing.
After you had moved away from your hometown, your life had been consumed with racing against the clock. With all your hardwork, you had been successful in your education, your career, and you had a place that you called your own. And yet, there were barely moments where you got to enjoy the time you so rightfully deserved to give yourself. Running around to prove yourself had only made you deprive yourself of your own time, seldom finding it in your busy hubbub.
And now, as you overlooked the snow-laden mountains, with the town distantly coloured in a warm hue, you felt your shoulders melt into a more carefree, comfortable posture. You deserved this, you thought to yourself. It was more than worth it to come here, all alone, and enjoy one vacation in solidarity. You deserved the time all to yourself.
And plus, Hoseok’s here for company, you added, feeling more and more resolute in your decision to take a break from the festive season.
Tumblr media
“This tastes really good, and I say that as someone who barely drinks coffee,” you hummed, hands wrapping around the warm mug that Hoseok handed to you.
He occupied the other end of the sofa, matching mug in his hands, crossing his legs comfortably. “That’s mainly because of the peppermint, Y/N. It adds a sense of uniqueness to the otherwise common coffee and elevates it.” You giggled at his narration as he indicated to his mug as if pitching a billion-dollar idea.
“I noticed you like peppermints a lot,” you said, sipping away at the drink. “I like them too, but it is rare to find a fellow lover.”
“Oh, I love them!” Hoseok beamed eagerly. “Peppermint mochas are probably my favourite thing to make over the holidays. It is the only time of the year where it tastes just right and fits in, you know?”
“My family used to make peppermint-infused hot chocolate,” you grinned. “It used to taste amazing.”
As the crackling fire painted a warm ambience across the cabin, a subtle wave of nostalgia washed over you. The flickering flames seemed to dance in sync with the memories of holidays long gone, reminding you of the lively chaos that filled your childhood home during this time of year.
Hoseok, sensing a shift in your demeanour, looked at you with understanding eyes. "Something on your mind, Y/N?" he asked, the glow from the fireplace casting a gentle warmth on his features.
You hesitated for a moment before responding, "It's just that... well, I miss my family. The holidays were always about being together; this year, being here alone feels different. I mean, it's wonderful to be back in this town, but the absence of their laughter and the familiar holiday chaos is hard to ignore."
Hoseok nodded empathetically, a soft smile playing on his lips. "I get that. Family has a way of making this time of year special. Maybe we can bring a little bit of that magic here. What's something your family always did during the holidays?"
As you shared tales of your family's traditions, Hoseok listened attentively. You don’t know when you two had started shifted closer, but soon enough, you and Hoseok were slapping each other on the arms while laughing away at old, embarrassing childhood stories.
“I can’t believe you would do that!” you laughed, wiping a tear away from your eyes. Hoseok chuckled at your state.
“Well, its at least better than when my family paraded me as baby Jesus on Halloween - my neighbour’s kid actually thought I was him,” he added, making you laugh even more.
Outside, you could see the snow settling up higher and higher, and soon you and Hoseok decided to bid goodbye for the night. While walking him out, you chatted about more anecdotes from your time in this town - and you found yourself thinking, this vacation isn’t off to a bad start at all.
Just before saying your goodbyes, Hoseok's eyes caught something above the door – a delicate mistletoe, adorned with tiny white berries, hung there as if placed by some unseen holiday fairy. A mischievous glint sparkled in Hoseok's eyes as he gently pointed upward.
"Well, look what we have here," he remarked with a playful grin, drawing your attention to the festive foliage above.
Your gaze followed his, and a soft gasp escaped your lips as you realized the implication. The air seemed to crackle with an unspoken tension, and a warm flush crept up your cheeks. Hoseok, with a charming smile, took a step closer, the glow of the cabin's lights framing his silhouette against the snowy backdrop.
"Tradition dictates that if two people find themselves beneath mistletoe, they share a kiss," Hoseok said, his voice low and filled with a playful warmth. “Unless they both don’t consent, of course.”
You hesitated, before responding. “I’m single, so - unless you don’t want to -”
Before you could fully complete your words, Hoseok leaned in, closing the gap between you. Time seemed to slow as his lips met yours in a gentle, lingering kiss, capturing the essence of the winter night and the enchantment that hung in the air. The snowflakes continued their silent descent around you, adding a touch of whimsy to the unexpected yet welcomed moment.
As his lips parted from yours, you could feel the frosty snow take away his warmth, and you oddly wanted nothing more to pull him back and kiss him.
But he was already walking away, promising to see you the next day. “See you tomorrow, beautiful."
Tumblr media
The mistletoe kiss had cast a spell, and the days that followed became a tapestry woven with the threads of shared laughter and newfound connection. The town, now dressed in the shimmering aftermath of Christmas, beckoned the two of you to explore its post-celebration charm.
In the heart of the town, where the streets turned into a canvas painted with the hues of festive lights, you couldn't help but marvel at the lively holiday market. "It's like walking into a snow globe," you mused, the twinkling lights reflecting in her eyes.
Hoseok grinned, the glow of the lights accentuating the warmth in his eyes. "A magical snow globe where every shop is a treasure trove waiting to be discovered."
The vendors, like holiday artisans, showcased their creations with pride. Hoseok found himself drawn to a quaint bakery where the scent of peppermint-infused pastries lingered in the air. "I can almost taste the nostalgia in these," he remarked, savoring a bite of a holiday treat.
You chuckled, a melody that harmonized with the festive ambience. "Nostalgia is the secret ingredient that makes everything here taste like a piece of childhood."
As you both strolled through the town square, the ice-skating rink unfolded like a winter dreamscape. People of all ages took advantage of the icy wonderland, gliding and playing around on the ice. "Care to join me?" Hoseok extended his hand, the invitation echoing your kiss from a few nights ago.
You hesitated for a moment before taking his hand. “As long as you don’t make me fall,” you remarked, making him laugh.
Evenings were a journey through the luminous streets, where each step resonated with shared stories and whispered dreams. The glow of holiday lights reflected in his eyes as they approached midnight. Hoseok, holding Y/N close, whispered against the backdrop of fireworks, "Here's to new beginnings."
It was almost as if the post-Christmas festivities had turned the town into a living storybook, with Hoseok and you as its protagonists. The holiday magic lingered in the air, blending seamlessly with the enchanting connection that unfolded like the turning pages of a heartwarming tale.
Tumblr media
A chilly onslaught broke the rather pleasant dream you were having. Groggily, you woke up, wrapping the blanket around you strongly to block out the sudden rush of iciness. The fireplace weakly flickered, and you could hear the howling winds outside as a storm built up.
Not knowing what to do, you decided your best option was probably to try to revive the fireplace and whip up something warm for yourself. You poked at the fire, but it seemed like it wouldn’t revive at all. As the firewood dwindled and the flames grew weaker, the bitter cold of the snowstorm seeped into the cabin, chilling the air and turning every breath into a visible mist. Despite your best efforts, the fire refused to revive, leaving you shivering and desperate for warmth.
“I did come here to be alone, but this is not what I envisioned,” you laughed to yourself, hugging your blanket tighter.
Your phone was not getting any network, so you hoped that Hoseok would somehow be awake at 2 AM. Bundling yourself up to the best of your abilities, you set out to his side of the cabin, knocking at his door as loudly as you could.
A few minutes later, a rather disgruntled Hoseok appeared at the door. “Is everything okay?” he rasped, hair awry and clothes haphazardly pulled on.
“I think my heating is broken, and the fire isn’t reviving, either.”  You explained.
“Ahh.” Hoseok welcomed you in his cabin - a near mirror image of your one - and let you settle up on the couch while he volunteered to check on your heating system.
While Hoseok busied himself outside, you noticed how tidy Hoseok had kept the cabin. There were more photos here - though you could only recognise a few faces - and a few more albums, stacked on the table next to the fireplace. Curiosity getting the better of you, you decided to peruse through one of them, immediately finding pictures of people from your neighbourhood celebrating Christmas together. On some pages, you could find your own parents smiling back at you, with your siblings holding hands with the other kids from the neighbourhood and singing carols captured in a faded photo.
To your surprise, you stumbled upon a faded photograph of two young kids, clutching a bag of peppermints, wearing matching grins.
Hoseok stepped in at that time, and yet, in your shock, you could barely register any of the words he was saying.
"Hoseok, is this...?" you began, showing him the picture.
He glanced over and chuckled. "Yeah, that's me, and my neighbour’s kid. We used to be quite the troublemakers when our families spent holidays here together."
You smiled. “Do you know where this kid is now?”
“No,” he said, sadly. “I wish I did, though. We used to be best friends when we were younger, literally joined at the hip, but didn’t really stay in touch after I left. I sometimes do wonder about her.”
You held the picture up to your face, making Hoseok face you. “Don’t you think something about us looks similar?”
Hoseok frowned, judging the faded Kodak with your beaming face. “You do have the same eyes, now that you say it. She had very pretty eyes.”
“Do you not remember her name?” You asked.
“We would call each other with nicknames,” Hoseok said, dusting the snow off his hair. “I used to call her Bunny, and she used to call me-”
“Hobi,” you completed, eyes gleaming.
Hoseok looked stunned. “Yeah, that’s what she called me. How did you know that?”
You laughed at his oblivion. “Because I am Bunny, silly.”
“Wha-oh?” Hoseok exclaimed, bracing himself as you rushed to hug your childhood best friend. “Are you serious?”
“I am,” you convinced him, finding it just as hard to believe as him. I mean, you don’t come to a cabin on the outskirts of the town looking for solitude only to bump into your childhood best friend again, do you?
Hoseok pulled away from you, gripping your shoulders and letting his eyes take in every part of you - as if he were meeting you for the first time again. “I can’t believe it is you.”
“Me neither,” you said, as you kissed his cheek. “It has been far too long, Hobi.”
Hoseok's astonishment lingered in the air as you both navigated the surprising reunion. The faded photograph, a relic of childhood mischief, lay forgotten on the table, replaced by the incredulous exchange between Bunny and Hobi after years of separation.
The cabin, with its walls echoing with the laughter of yesteryears, seemed to encase the timeless connection that had just resurfaced. Hoseok's eyes remained fixed on you, his disbelief slowly giving way to the realization that the Bunny he once knew was standing right in front of him.
As the shock settled, you couldn't help but laugh at the sheer serendipity of the moment. "I never imagined I'd find Bunny and Hobi reunited in a cabin on the outskirts of town," you remarked, a playful gleam in your eyes.
Hoseok joined in your laughter, the familiarity of shared memories weaving a comforting thread between you. "It's like a plot from a nostalgic movie," he added, shaking his head in amazement.
The two of you, now seated on the sofa, exchanged stories of the years that had passed, bridging the gap between then and now. The cabin, a silent witness to the unravelling narrative, seemed to cradle the essence of your rekindled friendship.
As the night wore on, and the snowstorm outside intensified, the cosy cabin transformed into a haven against the wintry tempest. Hoseok, ever thoughtful, stoked the fireplace, the flames casting a warm glow on the shared stories and laughter.
The sofa, now an island in the sea of nostalgia, beckoned both of you to its comforting embrace. The flickering flames, the snowstorm outside, and the whispers of shared memories paved the way for an unspoken understanding.
"You know," Hoseok began, his tone gentle, "it feels like we never really left those days behind. Just picked up where we left off."
You nodded in agreement, feeling a sense of belonging that transcended time. "It's like we're continuing a story that got interrupted."
As the night deepened, the warmth of the cabin and the shared connection became a refuge from the cold. The sofa, once a witness to the nostalgia of the past, now cradled the reunion of Bunny and Hobi.
Hoseok, looking at you with a softness in his eyes, spoke words that resonated with the atmosphere of the cabin. "I'm glad you found your way back, Bunny."
You leaned in, your shoulders brushing against each other, and whispered, "Me too, Hobi. Me too."
The flickering flames painted a dance on the log walls, casting shadows that seemed to waltz in rhythm with your shared laughter. The coziness of the cabin, the gentle snowstorm outside, and the rekindled friendship all merged into a symphony of comfort.
In the hushed moments that followed, the realization dawned that sleep was claiming its territory. The sofa, now transformed into a shared haven, invited both of you to surrender to its embrace.
"You know, Hobi," you said, your voice a sleepy murmur, "I never thought I'd find such warmth in the midst of a snowstorm."
Hoseok chuckled, the sound a gentle melody. "Maybe the storm outside brought us the warmth we didn't know we needed."
And so, amidst the crackling fire and the distant howl of the snowstorm, you and Hoseok snuggled closer, finding solace in the shared warmth. The flickering flames painted a canvas of comfort, casting a soft glow on your intertwined fingers.
And then, as if the universe had orchestrated the moment, your gaze met Hoseok's, and in that shared glance, a silent understanding bloomed. With a tenderness that mirrored the nostalgia of rediscovery, your lips met in a gentle kiss, sealing the night with a promise of new beginnings. The flickering flames seemed to dance in celebration, casting a warm glow on the cabin, now a witness to your reunion.
As sleep began to weave its tranquil spell, Hoseok whispered, "I’m so glad I met you again, Bunny."
You smiled, the words a gentle echo in the cozy cabin. "I’m so grateful, Hobi."
While your previous year left much to be forgotten, it seemed that this year had begun with the embrace of an unexpected reunion, the flickering flames and the snowstorm outside bearing witness to the rekindling of a friendship that time had only strengthened. In the arms of the cabin, beneath the quilt of shared memories, you and Hoseok surrendered to the tranquility of the night, finding peace in the warmth of each other's presence.

Humbug
Tumblr media
Bangtan Christmas 2023 drabble 1 - read the rest here.
Paediatrician Dr Jung Hoseok is beloved by all his patients and everyone he works with. Unfortunately, his cheerful demeanour is only a front, underneath it all, he's a humbug.
Pairing: Hoseok x f! reader
Genre: Paediatrician Hoseok, social worker reader, fluff, smut
Rating: 18+
Word count: 6k
Warnings: Sex, swearing, medical emergencies
Hoseok looks up from the computer screen at the sound of his name. His eyes take a moment to adjust, the screen’s the brightest light in the otherwise darkened paediatric ward.
The nurse, Jihyo, holds out a mug of coffee, just how he likes it.
Hoseok accepts gratefully, stares at the words on the side of the mug.
Big patience for little patients.
He blinks, indifferent, and goes back to prescribing.
His phone rings, muted because it’s 3am but he can hear it loud and clear.
He lifts it to his ear. ‘Dr Jung,’ he says by way of greeting.
‘You’re needed in the ER,’ comes the crisp tone of the ER charge nurse.
Hoseok sighs, doesn’t bother to ask why. ‘I’ll be there in 5.’
He hangs up, signs the chart and gulps the rest of his coffee, scorching his tongue and the roof of his mouth but preferring the burn to the desolate pang of his empty stomach.
The dry sandwich he’d bolted at 6pm the day before is nothing but a distant memory, churning its partially digested way through his intestines.
He takes a shortcut to the ER, cutting through the works alley between buildings.
Ironic that he has to pass the unofficial smoker’s alley to get fresh air.
Kim Namjoon, his friend and the resident cardiothoracics surgeon, nods and waves a vape pen at him in greeting.
Hoseok lifts a hand back, pushes the back entrance door open that someone’s propped open with a brick, hospital security be damned, re-enters the hospital next to the mortuary.
He glances askance at the double doors. It always makes him feel a little twitchy passing the morgue in the early hours of the morning.
He reminds himself he’s a grown adult as he picks up the pace, allows himself a little sigh of relief as he turns the corner and sees the bright lights of radiology.
He’s greeted by a cacophony of noises as he enters the ER, monitors beeping, people barking out instructions, distant sirens as ambulances pull up to the drop off.
He narrows his eyes against the fluorescent white strip lighting, looking around for the charge nurse’s familiar navy tunic.
He spots her by the resus bay, grimaces a bit at the carnage from a trauma that hasn’t been cleaned up.
‘Called for a paediatric consult?’
The charge nurse nods, brisk, waves an arm in the vague direction of the paediatric area.
‘15 year old, intoxicated.’
With that she’s off, and Hoseok trudges away.
The atmosphere in the paediatric area is less jarring, not so much because of the cheerful murals on the walls, but because it’s quieter, less hectic.
Hoseok assesses a teenager in a glittery jumpsuit who smells so strongly of alcohol and hairspray he reminds him of his own high school leaving prom.
He does an assessment, makes the mistake of asking the teen if he wants a drink on his way out of the exam room.
The teen chortles gleefully.
‘Yeah, gin and tonic, hold the tonic!’
Hoseok rolls his eyes as he exits.
He’s looking for a free computer to write up his notes when there’s movement in the periphery of his vision.
‘Need a computer?’ you ask.
Hoseok blinks to wake himself up. You’re way too pretty considering the early hour. Judging by your attire, more casual than smart, your carelessly styled hair, he makes an educated guess.
‘Are you with social services?’
‘Y/N, duty social worker,’ you confirm, nodding towards the exam room he’s just exited. ‘Jaebeom’s one of ours.’
‘Yeah?’ Hoseok asks. ‘I’m Hoseok, paediatrics. I’m admitting him until he sobers up.’
You nod. ‘His foster carer can pick him up in the morning, she’s got another child that she needs to drop off at school.’
You look around, yawning delicately behind your hand. ‘Is there a place to get coffee around here at this time?’
There’s an on-call room waiting for him, a bed, but Hoseok doesn’t hesitate.
‘If you have five minutes for me to write up my notes, I can take you to the lounge?’
You give him a look he doesn’t bother to interpret, it’s now 4am and if you say no he can always go to bed.
‘Yeah,’ you say. ‘Thanks.’
Hoseok types up his notes with you sitting in one of the empty chairs in the otherwise deserted paediatric department.
When he logs off he’s amused to find you engrossed in sorting shapes to slot into a sphere.
‘I can give you a few more minutes if you want,’ he says, dry.
You laugh. ‘I’ll be quicker once I’ve had caffeine.’
You follow him down the corridor towards the main hospital to the lounge.
Hoseok swipes his ID badge, pushes the door open.
You take in the ancient mismatched couches, the big screen TV, the tiny kitchenette with the top-of-the-line coffee machine, the chipped mugs drying next to the sink.
‘So this is how doctors roll, huh?’ you say.
Hoseok laughs. ‘Yeah baby, stick with me and I’ll show you a good time.’
He waggles his eyebrows, and you burst out laughing.
Hoseok’s struck by your smile and the way your eyes light up. He clears his throat, tells himself to stop staring at you like a creep.
‘Latte?’ he offers, picking up the nicest mug he can see.
‘Yeah, thanks,’ you say.
You’re fishing in your bag, emerging with a half-opened package of cookies.
He exchanges your coffee for a cookie, gestures to one of the couches.
He’s not expecting you to sit next to him, there’s plenty of space, but after a moment, you choose the seat beside him.
You sip your coffees in silence.
‘Been busy?’ you ask.
‘Yeah, a little,’ Hoseok replies.
Up close like this, he can see the tiny piercings in your ear, the gleam of gold through the fall of your hair.
Again, he pulls himself together with effort.
‘Have you been busy?’ he asks.
You stretch a little. ‘Yeah. We’re short-staffed, like always. Also something about the cold weather makes people be shits to each other.’
Hoseok’s not surprised. Winter’s always hard, fuck Christmas spirit and all that jazz.
‘I hear you,’ he says.
You sip your coffee, offer him another cookie which he accepts.
Your phone rings in your bag, you glance at him as you fish your phone out.
‘Duty calls,’ you say ruefully. ‘Thanks for the coffee.’
Hoseok’s about to bid you goodbye when you lean towards him, close, thumb brushing a corner of his mouth so quickly he barely registers it before you’re pulling your hand away.
‘Crumbs,’ you say. There’s the tiniest twinkle in your eye.
Hoseok’s voice comes out raspy as he says, ‘Thanks.’
‘See you around, doc.’
You’re not waiting for an answer, shouldering your bag, tossing him one last look on your way out.
Hoseok leans back against the couch, willing his heartrate to decelerate.
Outside, the darkest part of the night’s just about over.
***
Hoseok’s working hard to keep his bright smile on today.
He’s had a parent ask him if he has kids and then tell him he couldn’t possibly understand how precious their child is, as he doesn’t have children of his own.
He got an email from a conference he’s applied to saying due to the huge number of applicants, his abstract wasn’t selected for presentation.
His intern, Hyunjin, seems to be on a mission to aggravate him as much as possible.
‘We need a derm consult,’ Hyunjin tells him at the end of presenting the patient he’s just seen.
Hoseok closes his eyes briefly, desperately summoning what remains of his rapidly dwindling stores of patience.
‘Why do we need a derm consult, Dr Park?’ he tries not to bark.
‘This patient has verrucas.’
Hoseok blinks, takes a breath.
‘This patient needs nebulised albuterol and oxygen and an admission to paediatrics. The verrucas can wait until he gets better and the mom can stop by a pharmacy for some over-the-counter verruca treatment.’
Hyunjin stares at him.
‘He’s satting in the low nineties,’ Hoseok points out, words coming out brisk, staccato. ‘I can hear him wheezing from here.’
The ER nurse behind Hyunjin’s already tutting and prepping the neb.
‘Was there anything else, Hyunjin?’ Hoseok asks, getting up, staring at the rapidly expanding list of patients waiting for a paediatric consult.
His phone rings, and he pulls it out of his pocket with a sigh.
‘Dr Jung,’ he says.
‘Is that Hoseok?’
The voice is vaguely familiar, but he can’t place it.
‘Depends who’s asking,’ he snaps.
‘It’s Y/N, the social worker. You got me coffee last week at 4am?’
Hoseok has a flash of a memory, of your hand on his face.
‘Shit, sorry,’ he says, running a hand through his hair, already sticking straight up in all directions, courtesy of the shitty haircut he got in the barbershop on his way in.
‘Rough day, huh?’ you say, the sympathy in your voice making warmth bloom in his chest.
‘Yeah.’
‘I was wondering if you wanted to go to dinner after work today,’ you ask, no preamble, so direct Hoseok takes a moment to process.
‘I’d love to,’ he says. ‘I don’t get off until 8, though.’
‘I finish at 8 too,’ you say. ‘That works for me.’
You exchange numbers, and you promise to text him details.
‘Hope your day gets better, Dr Jung,’ you say, the teasing note in your voice making him smile, genuinely, for the first time, today.
‘It already is,’ he says.
He’s still smiling when he hangs up.
‘Hoseok,’ comes a voice from behind him.
Hoseok raises a brow inquiringly at Hyunjin, who, inexplicably, is still standing there.
‘About the verrucas,’ begins Hyunjin.
‘Nope,’ Hoseok says, pleasantly, still smiling.
He brushes past Hyunjin and picks up the next consult.
***
It’s ten to eight and thank fuck for that, because Hoseok’s had enough of today.
He’s getting changed out of the scrubs he was forced to change into after he was projectile vomited on by a chubby 10 month old, grateful he has spare clothes in his locker, when the door to the changing rooms opens.
Hoseok pauses, shirtless, hands on the tie of his scrubs bottoms.
Hyunjin blinks at him.
‘Nice abs, boss,’ he says.
Hoseok eyes both the fluffy white tee he was about to change into and the scrubs top he’s just discarded, questioning why he ever thought going into medicine was a good idea.
He grits his teeth.
‘Yes, Hyunjin?’
‘There’s a blue light call - breathless five year old, ETA 3 minutes.’
‘Jisoo is on tonight, let her know,’ Hoseok replies. ‘Also, close the door, damnit.’
Hyunjin looks surprised at the three medical students who have clustered behind him, all of whom are staring at Hoseok wide-eyed.
‘Jisoo’s going to be twenty minutes late, something about a train breakdown?’
Hyunjin’s got the wisdom to stay out of Hoseok’s reach.
Hoseok’s hand lands on his soft t-shirt, longingly.
With a sigh, he bypasses it and reaches for his scrubs top, pulling it over his head.
‘I’ll be right there,’ he says.
***
By the time Hoseok’s assessed the breathless patient and handed over to an apologetic Jisoo, the time on the clock on the wall says 9pm.
Hoseok pulls his phone out, dials your number.
You answer on the first ring.
Without waiting for him to say anything, you say, ‘The food’s still hot, I took the liberty of ordering for you. Are you on your way?’
Hoseok breathes out, a sigh of relief so profound he feels lightheaded.
‘Marry me,’ he says. ‘I’ll be there in ten.’
He gets dressed in record time, emerges out of the carnage of the ER like a phoenix rising from the ashes.
You’re the first person he sees when he gets to the restaurant, and you’re the best thing he’s seen all day.
He greets you with a hug and a cheek kiss that you weren’t expecting, judging by the shy smile on your pretty face.
‘I —’ you start, then you stop, adorably flustered.
‘You’re beautiful,’ Hoseok says. ‘I’ve been looking forward to this all day.’
‘I was just going to say I ordered tempura that’s on its way,’ you say.
‘I’m sorry I’m so late,’ Hoseok says. He’s got his hand on yours on the table without any memory of how it got there, but he likes the feel of it.
‘Make it up to me,’ you say, easy.
‘I’m going to do my best,’ he promises.
***
At least four people have seen Hoseok’s bare chest today, but you’re the only person he cares about impressing, at least right at this moment.
Because holy fuck, you’re beautiful, pressed tight to him on your poky couch, mouth on his, lips and teeth clashing as he kisses you over and over.
You’re making noises that are driving him slightly crazy, making him feel hot and desperate, and he has to stop himself from looking at your tits in that black bra or he’s going to embarrass himself.
Shit.
Your hand’s slid down, brushing over his dick, and he’s so hard already he has to will himself not to nut right now.
He tugs experimentally at the strap of your bra, and when you don’t protest he tugs it down, cups the weight of your left breast.
God, you feel so good. Soft, warm, exposed nipple begging to be kissed.
He runs his thumb over your areola, a slow pass.
The low moan you let out gives him the confidence to scrape the tip of his nail over the peak of your breast.
‘God, take it off, Hoseok,’ you tell him, and Hoseok’s sure as hell not going to make you ask twice.
He slides a hand around your bare back, unhooks your bra, can’t stop himself from looking.
His dick, already trying to stand at attention in its denim prison, twitches at the sight of your bared breasts.
Hoseok’s trying to remember what colour briefs he has on, if it’ll be obvious when he takes his jeans off that he’s leaking precum just from looking at your tits.
Then you cup the length of him over his jeans, and he finds he doesn’t give a fuck.
Your skirt’s ridden up, your thighs part under his hand encouragingly.
You’re so soft Hoseok can’t suppress a groan.
He hooks a couple fingers under the gusset of your panties, tugs, and your hand lands on his.
Hoseok looks up, hand stilling.
Hoseok’s been told that he has a gorgeous smile, but just at this moment, you’re the one who’s blinding him.
‘You can touch,’ you say, voice husky, teeth in your bottom lip.
‘Yeah?’ Hoseok asks, his own voice raspy, dropped low.
‘Yeah.’
‘Can I taste?’
You help him tug your panties down, over the curve of your ass that he can’t resist squeezing.
He tugs the flimsy cotton down your thighs, helps you slide a leg out.
He realises, belatedly, that you never answered his question, but you don’t seem to mind as he bends down, flicks his tongue against your pretty cunt.
Damn, you sound even prettier when he’s eating you out.
Hoseok licks into your folds, nudges your clit.
He doesn’t have any hangups about giving head, especially not in a girl like you who seems to enjoy everything he’s doing.
‘Shit, Hoseok,’ you moan, breathless, eyes squeezed shut.
He pushes a finger into you, curls it, and you cry out so loudly his cock hardens even more.
He tugs at the button fly of his jeans, loosening them for a little relief.
‘Please tell me you have a condom,’ you plead, voice thick, so sexy Hoseok can’t believe you’re under him like this.
‘Yeah,’ he says. ‘Why don’t you come and I’ll fuck you?’
‘Fuck me now,’ you tell him.
Hoseok seals his lips around your clit, flicks his tongue, slips another finger into you, scissoring, pressing, slow, making every movement count.
‘Hoseok!’
He doesn’t reply, because he can tell by the way your thighs are shaking that you’re close.
He just needs another minute.
He doesn’t know if you’ve realised that your fingers are in his hair, pulling, but he’s taking it as a positive.
He keeps doing what he’s doing with his tongue, because you seem to like it.
Your cunt tightens around his fingers, you call his name again, buck your hips into his face, and Hoseok doesn’t even need you to tell him you’re coming because he can feel you pulsing, can hear it in your voice, can feel the way everything tightens as you reach your peak.
It’s the hottest thing he’s seen in a while.
Fuck.
Hoseok draws himself out of jeans, takes himself in hand, pumps once.
You haven’t forgotten him.
‘Get inside, Hoseok,’ you say, and as he fishes the condom out of his jeans you flip it out of his grasp and rip it with your teeth.
Hoseok closes his eyes as you squeeze the tip and roll it onto his dick, concentrating on not coming in your grasp.
You push him back onto the couch, get on top of him, and Hoseok could weep at the view.
Your hair’s a mess, your lips bitten and flushed, and goddamn, your tits need to be in a museum.
He doesn’t realise he’s said that last bit out loud until you burst out laughing.
‘Shut up, Hoseok,’ you tell him, but you’re still riding him so there’s that.
Hoseok grabs your hips, helps you move even though you’re doing a pretty damn good job already.
‘You like this, Hoseok?’ you ask.
Hoseok flexes his cock inside you. ‘Yeah,’ he says.
‘I like it too.’
‘Yeah?’
You lean forward, tits bouncing in front of his face, and Hoseok thinks that if he died right now, smothered in between your breasts, he wouldn’t mind one bit.
‘Go on, baby, take what you want,’ you say.
Hoseok bucks his hips hard, up into the wet warmth of your cunt, tugs your head down to kiss you deep, open-mouthed, and comes with a groan, deep in his chest.
Bliss.
***
Hoseok wakes in a bed he doesn’t remember getting into, a bedroom that he finds soothing, with its neutral colours and soft sunlight filtering in the crack between the curtains.
There’s an arm flung across his chest, the soft curve of a breast against his chest.
You’re turned away, boneless, in a deep sleep.
His incorrigible cock stirs as he takes in the line of your back, down to the tempting curve of your ass.
He spots the clock on the wall, groans when he realises he should really be up now if he wants to get to work on time.
You’re still dead asleep even after he’s fully dressed, splayed out in the sheets, gloriously naked.
Hoseok pulls the duvet over your bare shoulder, resists the urge to kiss your upturned cheek, and makes sure the door’s locked behind him as he leaves.
***
Hoseok tightens his scarf around his neck as he waits for you at the entrance to the Christmas market you’ve managed to convince him to accompany you to.
The fact is, he hates the cold, he thinks all Christmas markets are gimmicky and overpriced, and after a run of incredibly busy shifts, he’d much rather be in bed with you right now than here.
Hoseok sidesteps neatly as he’s approached by a jovial couple dressed as Father Christmas and Mrs Klaus.
He’s about to pull his phone out to check on you when you hurry up to him, tuck your arm in his.
‘Hobi! You weren’t waiting long, were you?’
Hoseok looks at your bright smile and can’t bring himself to say anything other than ‘no, not long.’
Your lips are cold, but the kiss you plant on his cheek, next to his mouth, goes a long way towards improving his mood.
He doesn’t even give the three elves handing out tiny candy canes a dirty look.
‘Crepes?’ you suggest, seemingly oblivious to the fact that the longest queue is in front of the crepe stand.
‘Sure,’ Hoseok agrees.
You get in line and immediately turn to him, sliding your arms around his waist, under his coat.
‘How’ve you been?’ you ask.
Hoseok and you have met up a couple times over the last three weeks, enough that he’s left a spare shirt and some toiletries at your place.
You’re sweet, and fun, and he hopes you like him as much as he’s starting to like you.
‘I’m better now,’ he says, just so he can admire the glow of your smile.
‘You’re cheesy,’ you say, but the brightness in your eyes tells him you don’t mind.
‘Nah,’ Hoseok replies. ‘You dragged us to this Christmas market, I know you’ve got your eye on one of those tacky reindeer tree ornaments, you don’t get to call me cheesy.’
‘I like the blue one,’ you say, conceding so easily Hoseok has to smile.
‘Wait here, I’ll go and get it,’ he says.
‘What crepe do you want?’ you ask, as he pulls away.
‘Surprise me,’ he tells you.
Hoseok walks over to the ornament stall you’ve been eyeing for the past five minutes, picks out the blue ornament, hesitates over the collection of tiny gold Christmas bauble earrings.
He makes a decision, pays, shoves his purchases into his coat pocket and walks back to you.
You hold a crepe out to him, and he accepts with a ‘thanks’, taking the warm paper-wrapped bundle out of your hand and taking a bite.
The warm melted chocolate floods his taste buds, and he tries not to moan at the gooey sweetness of it.
‘Good, right?’ you ask. ‘Worth the wait.’
You’re not waiting for an answer, skipping ahead, heading for the chestnuts and hot chocolate like you’re a walking Christmas cliche.
Hoseok follows behind you. He finds he doesn’t really mind.
***
You stick your key in the lock, unlock the door to your apartment, don’t bother with the lights before you turn around and slide your hands up Hoseok’s chest, fingers tucked under the lapels of his coat.
Hoseok doesn’t have a lot to say, not when you’re looking up at him, lips pouted for a kiss.
He slips a hand around the back of your neck, cupping your head, and tilts his head down to yours.
‘Mmmm,’ you murmur. ‘You taste like chocolate.’
Hoseok leans down again, kisses you deep, tongue sliding into your mouth.
‘It’s cold,’ he says. ‘Warm me up.’
He’s only half-serious, having you pressed against him like this is doing a hell of a job of warming him up.
The wicked gleam in your eye gets him the rest of the way.
‘Come on. Want to take a bath?’ you ask.
Hoseok makes out with you in front of the mirror in your bathroom whilst the tub fills, is a short second away from guiding his cock between your legs when you pull away, bend over in front of him to test the temperature.
‘Get in,’ you say, and Hoseok’s always been good at following instructions.
He slides into the warm heat of the bath, groans at the feel of it, reaches out to steady you as you climb in on top of him, right into his lap, impatient like he feels.
You look so good bare and wet like this, the steam making tendrils of your hair curl against your neck, the tops of your breasts visible above the water line. Hoseok hadn’t thought he could get any harder but he does.
‘Sit on me,’ he says, and there’s a slosh of water, wet skin against wet skin, and then the slippery warmth of your cunt, taking him in.
The tips of your breasts jiggle in front of him as you move, and between the tightness of your walls around him and the prettiness of your moans, Hoseok’s in heaven.
He slips a hand around your hips, helping you ride him, and curls his hand around your breast, lifting it out of the water so he can suck.
You cry his name as he flicks his tongue over your nipple, and Hoseok squeezes the flesh of your hip, tight, under the water.
Your rhythm’s erratic but it’s making the pleasure build, short, tight circles of your hips against his.
‘Hoseok,’ you moan.
‘Yeah?’ he mumbles, lips around the peak of your breast.
He flexes his cock inside you, hums in satisfaction at the way your face goes slack, eyes half closed.
Shit, you look so pretty in the throes of pleasure.
Hoseok slides a hand up, fingers curling around your neck, thumb pressed into the hollow between your collarbones.
Your voice is hoarse now, raspy like his, as he urges, ‘Go on, take it.’
He presses down, you gasp, and lose your rhythm entirely as you come around his cock, walls spasming around him.
Hoseok takes over, fucking you through it, hardening until he comes with a low grunt.
Wet, slick, warm.
You’re tired, he can tell, the way you’re slumping against his chest.
‘Come on,’ he says. ‘I’ll wash us off.’
He coaxes you into your shower with him, soaps over the marks he’s made on your skin, wraps you into a towel.
By the time you’re both in bed, you’re more asleep than awake.
‘Work tomorrow?’ you ask.
‘I’m working,’ Hoseok tells you. ‘Want me to set an alarm for you?’
He doesn’t get an answer, you’re asleep on his chest already.
He should get up, switch some lights off, but a moment later, he’s asleep too.
***
Hoseok never thought he’d see the day he would want Hyunjin to be around, but he’s getting slammed, and the way things are looking, he needs all hands on deck.
He’s jogging down the corridor to his second emergency call for the day despite it being only 10am. It’s busy even for the holidays.
‘House fire,’ barks Mira, the ER charge nurse as Hoseok snaps on gloves. ‘Three children, five minutes out.’
‘How bad?’ asks Hoseok, prepping an IV access kit.
‘PICU are aware, they’re sending backup when they can but they’ve got their own internal collapse, they’re dealing with an arrest on the neurosurgical ward,’ Mira replies.
The doors slide open, and Hoseok can already tell from the looks on the paramedics’ faces that it’s not looking good.
Fucking hell, where’s Hyunjin, what a day to be in resus training instead of on the floor.
The second patient’s wheeled in as the first is still being parked, and Hoseok’s surprised to see you accompanying them, covered in soot, but he doesn’t have time to process now.
All he can do is deal with what’s in front of him, so that’s what he does.
***
It’s well into the afternoon by the time all three patients are stabilised and wheeled up to the PICU.
Hoseok’s washing his hands mechanically in one of the resus sinks, buying his brain some time to come down from the adrenaline of the last few hours, when he hears his name called.
‘Hey,’ you say, holding out a cup to him.
Hoseok takes a big gulp of the steaming hot coffee. There’s sugar in it, he doesn’t usually have sugar in his coffee, but today it goes down smooth, giving him a much-needed glucose boost.
He drinks most of it before he can muster a ‘Thanks.’
You don’t seem to be in a hurry.
You’ve cleaned most of the soot off your face, but your top is ruined.
Belatedly, Hoseok notices a plaster on your arm, remembers that you came in with the ambulance crew and the three kids.
‘Are you ok?’ he asks.
‘I’m fine,’ you say. ‘I was just outside the house when the gas oven imploded. I saw the kids in the window and got them out.’
Hoseok blinks. He hadn’t been expecting that.
‘You ran into a burning house?’
You frown a bit. ‘It wasn’t burning then, there was just smoke everywhere.’
You cough, and he notices that your voice is a little hoarse.
‘Besides, I was right there and I saw the kids, I couldn’t leave them.’
‘Shit,’ Hoseok says. He pulls you into a hug. ‘I didn’t know.’
‘Do you think they’re going to be ok?’ you ask, resting your head on his chest.
‘I hope so,’ Hoseok says.
He pulls away. ‘Did they check your carbon monoxide levels?’
You laugh, and the tension in his chest eases a little. ‘Yes, doc, I’ve been cleared for discharge.’
You grab his hand, squeeze. ‘I’m probably doing better than you right now.’
‘This is why I hate Christmas,’ Hoseok blurts out.
You’re looking at him, but you don’t say anything, and he can’t stop anyway.
‘Everyone goes on about Christmas and goodwill and people helping each other and yet the same shit happens as the rest of the year. It means nothing, just a commercial holiday that big companies use to make money out of dumb people.’
‘It’s bullshit,’ Hoseok says.
‘My parents feel the same as you,’ you say. You give him a smile that doesn’t quite reach your eyes. ‘They never celebrated the holidays.’
‘They had the right idea,’ Hoseok agrees.
‘When do you get off today?’ you ask. ‘I can make us dinner, if you want.’
‘I don’t think I’ll be good company,’ Hoseok says, honestly.
‘You’re welcome, even if you’re the biggest grinch in the world,’ you say, with a sweetness that makes warmth bloom in his chest.
‘I’m not a grinch,’ he says, half-heartedly.
‘A humbug, then,’ you say.
You reach out and touch his cheek.
‘Come over, later, if you want.’
***
Hoseok finds himself outside your apartment after his shift, wondering if you really wanted him to come over.
You don’t keep him waiting long, soon enough you’re opening the door, handing him a glass of wine, putting food in front of him.
Hoseok hasn’t even so much as showered, he came straight from work.
You notice him looking at the half-decorated Christmas tree you’ve got in your lounge, the open box of ornaments next to it.
‘I like Christmas,’ you say. ‘I thought I’d cheer myself up by putting up a tree.’
You seem to be worried about his reaction, so Hoseok grasps your hand.
‘Just because I’m a grinch doesn’t mean you have to be,’ he says.
You smile. ‘My parents never had a tree and I always wanted one.’
The food and the wine are going a long way towards making Hoseok feel normal again after his day.
‘Are you going to see them for Christmas?’ he asks.
There’s a brief shadow across your face, so quick he isn’t sure if he saw it.
‘They’re doing relief work in South Sudan,’ you say. ‘They’re doctors too.’
You ask, ‘Are you away for Christmas?’
‘Yeah, my parents and sister are upstate. I’ll drive up to them.’
‘Are they grinches like you are?’ you ask, teasing.
Hoseok laughs. ‘I’m the only grinch in the family. My mother goes all out, and my sister loves Christmas too.’
‘Sounds amazing,’ you say, a hint of wistfulness in your tone.
Your top’s slipped down over your shoulder, and between the way your skin gleams and the way your lips are stained from the wine, you’re so pretty Hoseok’s distracted.
He reaches out, tugging you into his arms.
‘Can I take a shower?’ he asks.
‘Sure,’ you say. The mischievous twinkle is back in your eyes now. ‘Want company?’
‘Always,’ Hoseok says.
***
For once, you’re up before him the next morning.
He must have been more tired than he realised.
You’re fastening your bra in a feat of dexterity he’s always admired.
‘Shame I missed the show,’ he says, his voice raspy in the darkness of your bedroom.
‘Happens every morning,’ you say. ‘You’ve got an invite every time.’
Hoseok laughs, rolls over, sheet around his waist.
‘What time is it?’ he asks, propping his arm behind his head, looking out the crack in the window as the snow falling outside.
‘It’s 6am on Christmas eve,’ you tell him.
‘Shit, I gotta pack for tonight,’ he says.
You pull a sweater on over a tee, sit on the edge of the bed to put socks on.
‘I probably won’t see you until after the holidays, huh?’
‘I’m back in a couple days,’ Hoseok says, hand on the small of your back where your sweater’s ridden up.
‘Yeah. Merry Christmas, Hobi. Eat all the turkey for me.’
‘I don’t even like turkey,’ he says, honestly.
You laugh, amused, and cup his cheek. ‘See you after Christmas, grinch. There’s coffee in the kitchen.’
Your goodbye kiss makes him want to pull you back into bed with him.
***
Hoseok pulls up outside his parents’ house, rubs the back of his neck, trying to get the crick out.
He can see the living room and kitchen lights are on, and he already knows that when he opens the front door and steps in he’ll be greeted with familiar smells.
Cinnamon. Fresh bread. The chicken dish his eomma always makes the night before Christmas.
He realises with a start that he never thought to ask you what you’d be doing for Christmas.
He’d spent an hour finishing decorating your tree after you left your apartment, so that you’d have a fully-decked out tree when you came back from work today, and had only belatedly realised that perhaps you’d have had fun decorating the tree together.
He’d put the earrings he got you under the tree, hung the gloriously tacky blue ornament he’d picked up for you at the Christmas market.
He’d packed the red lace panties you’d tossed merrily in his face when you’d stripped for him the night before, in the shower.
Shit, maybe that was a creep thing to do.
Too late now.
The front door opens, and his sister stands in the doorway.
‘Come on, what’s taking you so long,’ she asks.
‘Coming,’ Hoseok says.
He grabs his bag out the trunk and goes inside.
***
Hoseok wonders if he’s even in the right place.
You’d once told him, offhand, that you often volunteer at the shelter close to your apartment on Christmas day, and when he’d gone to your apartment and you weren’t in, he’d driven here.
It’s a women’s shelter, and he’s trying to make himself look as harmless as possible as he waits to be let in.
A woman dressed in a light-up jumper opens the door, eyes him suspiciously.
Hoseok has a sudden feeling that he’s made a terrible mistake.
It’s too late now.
‘I’m Hoseok, I’m a friend of Y/N’s. Is she here?’ he asks
To his relief, the woman’s face transforms into a smile, eyes crinkling at the corners.
‘You’re the doctor friend she keeps telling us about! Come in, she’s here.’
The woman grasps him by the arm, pulls him in out of the snow.
‘She’s helping in the kitchen, you can help too, if you want.’
‘Sure,’ Hoseok says. Her grip on his arm is strong, there’s no way he’s going to say no.
He’s led to an industrial looking kitchen, dated but clean, greeted by the sounds of chatter and Christmas classics.
There’s mess everywhere, like Santa exploded, but all that falls away when he sees you.
You look up, spot him, and the smile on your face makes him smile too. He probably looks like an idiot, here grinning at you, but he can’t find it in himself to care.
You get up, and then somehow you’re in his arms, the reindeer headband you have on poking him in the jaw but he’s still not bothered.
There’s heckling, teasing, whooping, but all he sees and hears is you.
‘What are you doing here?’ you ask, holding him so tightly he can barely breathe.
He likes it.
‘I forgot to wish you Merry Christmas,’ he says.
‘Merry Christmas, humbug.’
Hoseok wants to argue that he’s not a humbug, not really, but you’re kissing him, so he shuts up and kisses you back instead.

can u do watching christmas movies together pls
>>> Watching Xmas movies together: BTS
A/N: I wanted to make this since it's December! I hope you guys enjoy it<3
Jin:
Jin would instantly be up for it, the two of you curled up together on the sofa surrounded by different kinds of snacks and blankets. The two of you would cuddle while you watch all kinds of Christmas movies, from the classics to hallmark movies that are incredibly cheesy.
Yoongi:
As much as he would claim he didn't want to be sat watching movies with you, he was loving every second of it. Even getting super focused on the scenes that you were watching. When you eventually got too tired to carry on Yoongi begged for you to finish the last movie with him first.
Hoseok:
It was a tradition that the two of you had together, every day as a count-down to Christmas you would find and watch a new Christmas movie. It didn't matter if it was cheesy or silly, the two of you would devote the time to watch the movie every day. It was your own mini version of an advent calendar
Namjoon:
"You're not supposed to talk all the way through the movie," You whined as Namjoon continued to list off all of the things that were wrong with the story that was being told. Even though the two of you would watch movies a lot, you never quite got used to him talking throughout the entire thing.
Jimin:
It was Jimin's idea on Christmas eve to sit and watch movies to make the day past by quickly. It was the first time he was going to be spending the entire holiday with you and you alone and he couldn't have been more excited for it, "Snacks?" he questioned while looking around the living room, "check," you laughed looking at the piles of food you had at the ready. Then the two of you got cozy and began to snack away.
Taehyung:
Every year Taehyung always seemed too busy in the lead up to Christmas and you thought that this year would be the same but Tae ended up surprising you with a break away at a cabin. The whole time the two of you cuddled by the fire while old VHS tapes of Christmas movies played on the TV
Jungkook:
Jungkook wanted to make sure every second of Christmas was planned out perfectly, for the first time since the two of you had started to date you were going to spend the holidays together. No other members around to bother you, just the two of you. But he'd spent so much time trying to perfect everything it was all going wrong. "Why don't you just come and watch movies with me?" You giggled, looking at your boyfriend who was a little upset at the burnt cookies in front of him. "I wanted this to be perfect," he mumbled, slowly sitting beside you on the sofa and laying his head on your shoulder. "It is, as long as I have you," you told him, quickly pressing your lips to the top of his head.
