As someone whose life revolved around sugar, butter, and flour, this was a new world. The tension in the air is palpable and the flurry of activity is so different from the kind of rush you’re used to. You’re nearly tripping over your feet trying to catch up to the member of the staff who's been sent to assist you. This must be so out of their scope of work, it's almost embarrassing how clueless you are to all of this.

It’s been three years since you started dating Soonyoung, and while you’ve never missed one of his shows in Seoul, this is your first time attending one of his rehearsals. He’s notorious for being laser focused and demanding of his team, making sure everyone remembered their collective goal of an amazing show. You never wanted to get in the way of that or to be considered a distraction. 

In fact, that’s always how you’ve operated as his girlfriend. You understand where you stand, what your role is, and when it’s time to work, you will stand back and let him shine.

But when you make it to the front of the stage, taking a seat close to Soonyoung’s managers after giving them a friendly smile, you can’t help the wave of pride that comes over you as you take everything in. The stage is massive, the largest Soonyoung’s ever had, and over thirty dancers are on stage with him as he adjusts the blocking and tweaks steps.

Then he catches your eye.

His eyes disappear as he smiles and you can’t help but do the same. You fight off the urge to wave, wanting him to get back to what he’s doing knowing full well they have limited time to go over everything before resting for the evening. You can’t take your eyes off him though. Preparations for concerts usually take him away from you for weeks at a time, and with the scale of this one, you hadn’t seen each other in the flesh for a month.

Just seeing him in front of you now already makes you feel sated.

“Can we do another run of the new song with the pair choreo. We just want to see which works better,” the director calls from the tech booth.

“Nari-ssi, please come up. Everyone else, take 5,” the choreographer on stage with them calls into her mic.

Soonyoung had mentioned he was debuting a new song at the concert. It was something he and Jihoon had worked on last minute that he couldn’t stop talking about, wanting to drop hints but also saying he wanted it to be a surprise for when you would see it at the show. He had dropped the topic dead a few weeks ago.

Nari bounds up the stage with a glorious spring in her step, bare faced but glowing. Her practice clothes fit her like a glove and her overall vibe gives off the energy that she herself was an idol.

That ugly feeling starts to simmer in your stomach as what you suppose is the song starts to play. The intro is slow and sultry and the sweat in your palms starts to grow uncomfortable. Only an idiot wouldn’t understand the sensuality of this song from the get go.

The love of your life is standing right there but you can’t take your eyes off of Nari as she finds her blocking before the verse starts. Nari smiles at Soonyoung and makes a comment you can’t hear from your seat. You feel sick.

Soonyoung and Nari are facing each other with one of his hands on her chin, lifting her gaze to him. His other hand is resting on her slender hip and in a three count from their choreographer, they move in unison.

Your head flies up to find Soonyoung staring you down from the stage, eyebrows furrowed and looking, dare you say, nervous.

“We need to see how this is actually going to look like tomorrow, so please let’s put more effort into this. Poor Nari’s giving it her all, Nyoung-ah.”

Soonyoung tries to communicate with you wordlessly but your unwillingness to keep eye contact makes it difficult for Soonyoung to get whatever it is across.

The music plays back again and they return to their starting positions and you know he’s turned it On.

Being with an internationally acclaimed artist meant busy schedules and only being able to squeeze in the littlest dates every now and then. You had time to prepare for those, give yourself the pep talk of It’s been three years. If he wanted you gone, he’d have said something by now.

In preparation for the show you two had made prior plans you would stay with him, an impromptu long weekend “getaway” you had put in at work almost 3 months ago. But now it feels like you’re trapped. You’ve been short with him since his rehearsals wrapped and you’d met up with him in his private dressing room. You could only stomach to say surface level good jobs and you’re always so amazing!

There’s no way he hasn’t picked up on it yet because the air in the car was nonexistent. It was stifling and you could feel the waves of anger simmering underneath Soonyoung’s skin, just waiting to burst forth the moment the two of you were alone.

He knew something was wrong. He always knew. 

The ride up the elevator to his unit felt like the longest and shortest elevator ride of both of your lives and the second Soonyoung had let you into his place and locked the door behind him, you wanted to cry.

“Can we finally talk about this?” He starts. 

“What?”

“Soonyoung.”

“Are we really doing this?” He sighs, exasperated.

Soonyoung stops, sits up straight, “What are you talking about?”

You groan, “Soonyoung, I don’t want to get into it. Please, you’ve had a long day, tomorrow is going to be—“

“No,” he cuts you off, “We don’t get to talk about tomorrow until we talk about today. Until we talk about what’s going on right now.”

“Soonyoung—I just. I don’t know how to talk about this. I’m just blowing things out of proportion. It’s nothing, I swea—“

“It isn’t nothing, though, is it?” He says, softer now. He reaches up for your hand, “You’re upset. You’ve been upset since I saw you after rehearsals. We have to talk about this, baby. We promised each other we’d talk things through.”

Glimpse: How the members handle Yexi doing a sexy concept

Seungcheol - He doesn't. The first time the company pushed for sexier clothing everyone thought he'd have an aneurism. He will forever see her as the little girl he helped raise. She also likes to tease him about it just a little.

Jeonghan - He likes to cause chaos. Every time it happens he'll point it out to Cheol, Jun, Chan, and Mingyu. He thrives in the chaos and Yexi wants to hit him for causing them to be even more overprotective.

Joshua - he's not happy about it. He doesn't really say much but he grumbles about it with Cheol. The first time the company did it he died a little inside. Their Yexi was all grown.

Jun - this boy will try to make her wear jackets and things to cover up any time there is a chance of some guy seeing her all decked out and not on stage.

Hoshi - He supports it. He can see that she's gotten more confident and when she's pulling it off and looks gorgeous he is her #1 fan. He'll whistle and (respectively) cat call making the older members want to choke him.

Wonwoo - He supports her when it happens but if it's at a photo shoot and he sees someone looking a little too much he's glaring. If she's sitting he's already grabbing a blanket or jacket.

Woozi - that's basically his little sister and he doesn't wanna see it. He acknowledges that she can pull it off and she looks good and if it's a solo stage he is excited for her but he doesn't wanna see it. He wants to believe that she's still innocent.

Minghao - He gets excited. He will make sure that she has the confidence to wear it and if she doesn't he manages to make her feel that way by the end of it. That's his best friend and he supports her wearing whatever she wants. As long as her ass is covered and her tits are secure, he doesn't want any possibility of a wardrobe malfunction.

DK - He showers her with compliments. He knows the other members will sometimes be a tiny bit overbearing so he tries to make it a good experience for her. He's all about making sure she is comfortable in her own skin.

Vernon - if it's too sexy the boy is uncomfortable. That's his Noona and in his mind she should be covered. He will tell her she looks pretty but after the initial look he doesn't want to acknowledge it again.

Chan - if a guys look lingers too long he's ready to square up. That is his Noona and she should be looked at respectfully. He will sometimes whine about it and comment that he hates it when guys stare but other than that she's free to wear what she wants. She should be allowed to wear things and not be objectified.

"This is my favorite whiskey. I got it as a gift from a good friend in Japan once. It's a light whiskey, with mild dried fruit, a bit spicy, but everything is in balance. I brought a flavor with toffee in it. It's good when you want to relax and not necessarily get drunk, so I thought it would be a good start."

"If this was an advertisement for this product, I would definitely buy it!"

"Oh, thank you! I don't have many opportunities to drink alcohol for fun, so sometimes I just drink something light, mostly with Minho."

finally actually watching the Re:flect U concert the other day, and it's so interesting to see the ways that they try to accommodate the VAs for being so clearly unused to this. Long MC segments and long instrumental solos. They did a whole saxophone-piano instrumental number that was very lovely and is making me picture Yuki playing the saxophone, so 10/10 on that. Course they also made them do 3 songs back to back but. you win some you lose some

But it's also making me think about how it could reflect in a certain measure Re:vale's first concerts together, because it seems pretty clear to me that Tachibana Shinnosuke has more experience and more stage presence than Soichiro Hoshi -- just like the characters at their debut together, where Yuki had already been an idol for 5 years, he knew what he was doing (or a version of it, at least, there's nuance there). Meanwhile Momo had never sung or done anything musical at all in his life before joining up with Yuki -- and while he was very active and sporty, I have to imagine there's a very particular kind of energy required to sing and dance for 2-3 hours nonstop that maybe doesn't transfer over from soccer super well, especially when you're not at all used to singing in front of a crowd. Or at all.

Momo who ends up bloody exhausted during their first concert because he underestimated just how much energy would be required to stay up there and sing and dance for 2 hours. Momo drenched in sweat from the spotlights and from constantly moving, and that might be one thing when he's wearing a jersey and able to take a break in the middle and douse himself with water, but he's wearing 6 layers and his coat keeps getting caught and the sweat is starting to show down his back even through all the fabric to catch it. He misses a cue and panics, and that makes him mess up the next dance steps even though he practiced them a thousand times beforehand. And Yuki covers for him, no one even noticed or cared all that much, but he feels So Bad for letting Yuki down. By the end of the concert his voice is cracking around the notes and he's desperately trying not to pant straight into the mic as he sucks down breath.

No one remembers afterwards but them. Like IDOLiSH7 years later, Re:vale has the blessing of starting out small. Momo gets to learn how to pace himself and how to face the stage properly before it ever becomes an issue. But they still joke about it sometimes, now, when Momo's spent 3, 4, 5 hours bouncing around on a stage and Yuki's the one utterly exhausted at the end.

MAMA 2019

It was very tiring for Seventeen especially just finishing on of their concerts to attend the award show. This year award show had a lot of moments from seventeen being winning an unknown award, hoshi angry, scoups not at the award show.

But what really caused an uproar was one of the global sensation boy group interacting to the idols songs. It was obvious seventeen were quite exhausted as they all were quite still and didn't interact much. Until Cupid performed the members were cheering the girl on non stop which easily became one of the hilarious moments of MAMA as BSS squad didn't iconic gotta go dance move especially seungkwan doing the dance with a look on his face.

netizens who weren't familiar with seventeen were definitely amazed seeing Cupid dancing, rapping and singing effortlessly. This was a successful award show for seventeen as they gained a lot of attention.

HAERIM x 96 line

Haerim x Junhui 

Haerim has the biggest soft spot for Jun. Since trainee days when they first met, she took him under her wing and cared for him knowing it was hard to be in a new country far away from his family. She wanted to make him feel as comfortable as possible. 

In trainee days these two were always the first up in the morning. They would make breakfast for the other members together. This was a bonding moment for them, they would talk quietly to each other about light things or sometimes serious things. Haerim still holds those moments with Jun close to her heart as the feels she really got to know him well back then. 

Jun can be very talkative and Haerim just loves listening to him talk. She just smiles and listens because she’s happy he’s comfortable enough to talk to her about anything. 

His happiness is her happiness. When he’s all energetic and excited she gets energized too. She just finds him so cute, all she wants is to see him happy.

She’s his biggest fan. She’s so proud of him and her love for his solo work is on another level. She’s always there supporting him at his music video shoots, even if she’s busy that day she still finds a way to get there and support him. 

Jun was very attached to Haerim in trainee days, she really feels like a big sister to him and he’s grateful to her for always looking out for him. Now days he still goes to her for comfort and support, knowing that she’s going to be there no matter what.

Haerim x Soonyoung

These two have a lot of chemistry both on stage and off. Both are known for their incredible stage presence, these two are quite a powerful dance duo.

When they first met Hoshi was a bit shy around her. He thought she was really cool and an amazing dancer. However it didn’t take long for them to get to know each other and become friends. 

Haerim has always admired his skills and passion for dance. Their number one bonding time was in the practice rooms where they would dance together and talk about anything in their break times. 

In trainee days Haerim was the original Performance leader. While she did enjoy it she couldn’t help but notice Soonyoung’s fast learning or the way he would help the others when they were stuck. Sometimes she would let him take over to see how he would do and he really thrived in the leader position. Being the kind of person who pushes people to be their best, she convinced him to consider taking her place as Performance leader. While Soonyoung was unsure at first and he didn’t want to steal her role from her she said it was fine. She’s already Seventeen’s general leader and as leader she wants to help the members become the absolute best they can be. So she convinced the company to allow Hoshi to be Performance leader.

Even though Hoshi is the Performance team leader he still looks towards Haerim for leadership. He always shows her new choreography he’s come up with first because her opinion and approval is important to him. 

Soonyoung has a way of bringing out Haerim’s playful side and she loves being around him. He can be very clingy to her and loves her attention and she just becomes to soft for him. Very lovey dovey in a sibling/best friend kind of why. Hoshi is a Noona’s boy (don’t change my mind.)

Haerim x Wonwoo

Another person Haerim has a massive soft spot for. Wonwoo’s always been quiet and reserved, Haerim played a big part in him coming out of his shell.

It took a little while for them to become close friends because he was always very shy around her. They only talked briefly about casual things like school and how the days going, she never pushed him to talk more if he was uncomfortable. But Wonwoo did want to talk to her more. He really liked her from the beginning, he just didn’t know how to approach her because she was older. He’d never made friends with an older girl before. 

To Haerim, Wonwoo was hard to read because he always wore a straight face. She decided to let him warm up to her in his own time, happy with with the little conversations they had. Over time they slowly got closer and he started opening up to her more. The first time he called her Noona she had to hold herself back from grabbing him and hugging him. She became one for his favorite people to talk to because she always listened to him and genuinely cared about what he had to say. 

He always shows her his lyrics because he trusts her opinion. She’s always encouraged and supported him throughout his career. 

Haerim likes spending time with Wonwoo because he’s very laid back and easy to get along with. They have deep conversations and talk about personal matters. Even though she isn’t good at video games she still plays with him because it’s something he likes to do. 

Over the years they’ve become very close and Wonwoo considers her to be his older sister who is always by his side. 

Haerim x Jihoon

Other then Seungcheol, Woozi is one of the members she’s been friends with the longest. It might surprise you to know it didn’t take long for them to become close, they seem to have very opposite personalities. 

In the very beginning Haerim and Jihoon were kind of attached to each other. Not physically but they were just always together. They went to the same school so they would take the bus together and get snacks on the way back. Even though Jihoon isn’t the most talkative person this was one of the times he could really talk to her, so their trips too and from school were their favorite bonding moments.

Jihoon isn’t very vocal about his feelings. Haerim understands that and never pushes him to talk about things he doesn’t want too. Which is why she loves his music so much, it’s his why of expressing himself. Every once and a while when he feels the need to talk to someone to get his feelings out, she’s one of the first he goes too. It’s just easy to talk to her and he’s grateful to her for being a constant in his life.

There’s no one in this world more proud of him then she is. She’s watched him grow and improve and she’s so damn proud to be in the same group as a genius like him. She just knows she’s gonna love anything he does and trusts him completely with the groups music.

She’s one of the people who can actually get him out of his studio. She drags him out to go for walks with her and he actually doesn’t mind that much because walking with Haerim reminds him of high school days so he’s happy to take a little brake with her.

After years of being friends he’s gotten used to her affection. He lets her hug him whenever she wants and acts like its nothing, but his little smile says that he secretly (not so secretly) loves it. She’s always been just a tiny bit taller then him so he’s the perfect height for her to cling onto at any opportunity. At time’s when Woozi’s feeling a little extra affectionate he won’t hesitate to give her a hug back. She is his best friend and sister after all. 

All in all these boys are Haerim’s best friends and brothers who she loves so much and will do anything for. They are her comfort and safe place in times of need.

wonwoo, my other ult bias!💕 he just seems so chill in his down time, and i feel like we don't even have to do anything together! we could just do our own thing in comfortable silence! like quality time if that makes sense! but i would play video games with him! i'm not used to being a PC video game player (i'm more of a console video game player), so it'd be cool for him to teach me! or also just really sit down and have a nice chat! he seems like to the type of person you can speak to for hours about anything!

his smile! he just has such an adorable smile! i love it sm!

Seungcheol - any guy attempting to flirt with Yexi must be stopped. Any guy must keep a 6ft distance and not even think about putting their grimey hands on her. No one will ever be good enough for her and he doesn't trust anyone with a dick around Yexi (obv members are the exception) and so help any man that ever makes her uncomfortable. Idol image or not he'll throw hands.

Jeonghan - He's just drafting his 'if you hurt her' speech. He knows that if any guy is able to handle the rest of his members plus Yexi then he will have the ability to shine in his best role to date. He may not be the strongest but his ability to be devious and plan is something to be scared of.

Woozi - Secretly he's tried to set her up before. He understands thst the other members are over protective and she deserves love.

Minghao - He wants to let her flourish much to the older members dismay. He roots her on as long as she's happy. Like Wonwoo he will give space but at any point if she looks uncomfortable he's swooping in.

DK - He just wants her happy. As long as they treat her well he doesn't care. He tries to give her privacy in that area.

Mingyu - He's just as bad as Cheol and Jun but he gets mopey. Anyone who steals his best friends attention is a threat in his book. He already had to share her with his members and her other friends and he doesn't wanna share with any more people. He usually will find an excuse to insert himself into the situation or find a way to pull her away.

this weekend is a very very special weekend, because this is the only free weekend i have in 5 weeks! i usually in the ER at saturday night but this weekend i am at my room, watching romcoms and music shows and eating sweet stuff and impulse-shopping because i'm stressed

chrisye live is a concert that celebrates the life and art of chrisye, a beloved pop star of indonesia that pass away at 2007. the concert was held by erwin gutawa, who arranges a lot of chrisye's works, notably the album "badai pasti berlalu" which is my aaaaaaaaaaalll time fave. chrisye pass away before erwin could compose a song for him (most of the time erwin arranges and eros djarot composes), so there is a lot of regret on his part. the concert itself augmented chrisye's previous concert voice stream with new music arrangement by a live band on the stage. the crowd sang along happily, it's a festive event. i don't know where i'm going with this... but i think grief for another human being is almost always run above a stronger undercurrent of love, and when there is love, there is joy. i wish someone would do this for jonghyun, too.

BEFORE HE'S THE MEDIA'S POSTER BOY FOR DEPRESSION, he's THE poster boy for artistic excellence and vocal prowess. i think this one performance showcased it best. jonghyun's not dancing, he's just standing on his feet and singing and it was crazyyyyyyy. this one also has his best falsetto moments. i'm so thankful we have this performance. i'm sorry i really talk a lot about jonghyun's work. it's just that i feel like i know him, and the jonghyun i know would hate to be remembered for his lowest moment rather than his best. if i was gone, i would want all of you to remember me at my brightest, too. so i will continue to post jonghyun's performances here, all that i like best. i hope you guys can watch if you have time to kill, because he is an outstanding vocalist.

thanks to @zzzzzestforlife seventeen posts, i finally checked out hoshi's spider after 2 (?) years of intending to listen to it. i love taemin's work and people had recommended me many young artists that is cited to be his sons and only now did i get to sit and actually watch. it's awesome... the choreo is so satisfying. so this is what the kids are doing these days (*is younger than the artist himself*). the song and concept itself is a FAVORITE of mine, subdued at times and heavy with symbolism. it is in the same vein as taemin's waiting for and impressionable, which are both my faves (zesty u gotta listen to those!!) (his voice really holds nothing back, for real, so it really depends on how old you are...) def gonna wait for hoshi's solo album!

roman holiday (1953), top row. im such a SUCKER for romcoms with good people in it. so princess ann, played by audrey hepburn, sneaks out for a night while on sleep medication and end up having a whole day out pretending to be common people. she's followed by a starving, broke journalist who pretends to befriend her so he can write gossip piece about the princess. they fall in love! and its painful! it's awful! i cried at the ending. it's my favorite romance movie ever, i think. will be rewatching this until i die. audrey is so cute and the haircut scene is so good it made me cut my waist length hair to recreate it, haha. no regrets!
