The atmosphere felt light that evening as Hoshiko walked the halls of the Todoroki abode, a cookie in hand. Her mother started to make dinner as her older siblings were in their respective rooms. She went to take a bite of her sugar cookie but stopped midway as she heard a deep voice come from down the hall of her father’s training room.

None of her older siblings were allowed to be there and especially not Hoshiko. She’d only been in the room a couple times, and each ended worse than the last.

She slowly walked down the hall, stopping in front of the room where she heard the voice. Cautiously sliding open the paper door, she poked her head in.

“I AM HERE!”

Leaning forward on his knees was Shouto watching All Might, the number one hero, on the TV with bright eyes. Hoshiko didn’t get to see her little brother often due to a supposed accident that occurred when she was too young to remember, but this was the happiest she’d ever seen Shouto.

Stepping foot into the room, Hoshiko walked up beside him, “You like All Might, huh?”

Shouto’s head whipped to the side, not expecting anyone to come in. “Hoshiko!”

“Don’t worry, it’s just me,” She giggled and sat beside him. “Cookie?”

She noticed the hesitation on his face as she held out the soft cookie, “Go on,” A smile made its way to her face to try and ease the tension. “I promise I didn’t drop it on the floor.”

Hesitantly, Shouto gently grabbed the sugary treat from his sister's hands. He went to look at her face, but she was already watching the TV. All Might's laugh filled the air as he saved dozens.

It was rare for anyone to consume All Might media in the Todoroki house. Even speaking his name was risky.

No one wanted to piss off Endeavor.

Thankfully, the number two hero was called out for an emergency, so he wouldn’t be back till after dinner.

From the corner of her eye, Hoshiko watched Shouto’s eyes light up as he bit into the cookie. It was the first time he’s ever had one. Endeavor had him on a special diet compared to the others.

A minute passes before Shouto speaks again, “He’s gonna get mad at you if he finds out.”

Hoshiko’s face scrunches for a moment before replying, “He won’t find out.”

‘And if he does, I’ll yell at him again.’

Quietly, the half-and-half boy finishes his cookie as they watch the screen together.

“Why?” Shouto speaks so softly that Hoshiko almost misses it. “Why are you doing this?”

Hoshiko looked down at her little brother’s confused face and gently placed a hand on his two-toned hair.

“‘Cause I care about you, Sho.”

She watched his eyes widen in surprise as if he’d never heard that before. Grinning, she placed her arms behind her head. “And I’m securing my position as the best sister in the family.”

Laughs escaped Shouto’s mouth as he moved to hug Hoshiko, “Thank you.”

she is around 185 cm/6’1 tall

she is 32 years old

she studied in a dance school and then in a ballet academy, she managed to get into a ballet company but she had to leave to raise her children, Eijirou, Akira and Akiko

now she teaches ballet in her old school

her children like to call her sensei when she scolds them, because her ballet teacher persona shows up

when she was 20 and she was working in a cat café and almost had a thing with a pro-hero… but she doesn’t know he was a pro (yet)

now, after being single for many years, she’s in a happy (secret) relationship with a colleague, Saito Hinata

They had been friends for years, their children (Eijirou and Hiroshi) kept trying to set them up together but they kept saying that they were just friends

Hinata was the one who confessed first, like the hopeless romantic that he is

They got together the day Eijirou had a crisis in middle school (you know the one) so she didn’t feel like telling him then

She wanted to wait for the right moment, but the right moment never came

Until a couple of months later, she was in the shower and Eijirou heard her phone’s notification sound and went to check

only to find a text from “Hinata ❤️” with the cheesiest and sweetest words ever

she tried to come up with excuses but Eijirou didn’t care, he was too happy for her

now Eijirou is the only one who knows in the family, she is still waiting for the right moment to tell the twins

Akiko had a crush on Kaminari, but since he kept mistaking one for the other, the crush ended pretty soon

they still consider Kaminari their second big brother, and usually call him by his first name

during the sports festival they rooted for Mina (obviously, she’s their senpai at their mom’s dance school)

but then Akira developed a crush for Todoroki and Akiko for Midoriya

Eijirou won’t tell Katsuki about this, he doesn’t want to see his reaction

they promised Eijirou they will plan his wedding

at first they didn’t like Tomo that much, they didn’t feel like he was 100% trustworthy (they later realized he was)

between their brother’s two boyfriends they prefer Katsuki, though, they immediately knew he was the one for Eijirou (they already have a few ideas for their wedding and secretly can’t wait for them to get engaged to start planning the whole thing)

An excerpt from my Todoroki fanfic made as a one-shot inspired by the song ‘glow’ by Nano.

Written in Todoroki’s POV

Todoroki’s POV

Never in my entire life did I compliment someone as much as I did to her. I've called her beautiful once. And now, the same word was ready to slip from my mouth but before I could say it, she run outside.

Maybe I know what she meant by  saying she wanted to experience the joy of childhood. At some point, we were bound by our parents’ rules and their expectations. So I could totally relate to her when she said she wanted to experience such thing. Even I wanted too. But I'm not as brave as her.

I followed her outside. What I saw almost made my heart skipped. I didn't know I was capable of feeling such thing. 

She is not the most joyful of person. 

The first time I saw her, she seems cold and gloomy. But perhaps those traits are what draw me to her. 

She's different from anyone. She is unlike the girl Midoriya was always with, Uraraka, who always has a bright smile plastered on her face. Or unlike Yaoyorozu who is intellectual but doesn't have enough confidence in herself. Hoshiko is something else. Something I couldn't describe for now.

In front of me, is a girl with a carefree attitude. Dancing in circles and hopping on paddles of water. Her violet hair is soaked, her eyes are close and she has the most brilliant of smiles that could melt about everyone around, although I doubt if Bakugou would be affected, the guy has a heart of stone.

"Todoroki!" she shouted and almost instantly, my gaze focused on her.

She was still smiling while motioning me to come towards her.

"Come on! The rain feels good!" She yelled over the sound of rain.

I felt something tugged up my lips and I shook my head. No harm in letting loose. I jogged towards her, only noticing that her hands are outstretched. I took it and we swayed like children on Christmas Eve.

"You're seriously going to catch a cold," I stated.

I didn't know if I said something wrong, but she stopped. Her smile had drop into a frown.

"You're right," she said. "I think we should go back inside."

She started to walk past me. I blinked in confusion. Her mood changed easily. I turned around and catch up to her, stopping in front of her.

"Yoru, I didn't mean to–"

All of a sudden, she burst into a fit of giggles, almost like a laughter.

"I'm just kidding. You should've seen your expression."

With that, we let ourselves be free under the ice cold raindrops.

Chapter Nine: Nomu

The man Dabi now knew as Ujiko connected Hoshiko to various machines, checking all her vital signs. She was still alive but growing ever weaker.

“She … has no quirk?” Ujiko exclaimed in surprise. “How unusual in this day and age. I wonder if that will change the way she …” His mumbling trailed off.

Dabi glared at him. “What exactly are you planning to do to her?” he demanded. “Will she be okay?

“Don’t worry, don’t worry,” the doctor muttered. “I have to give her a quirk, maybe two. Could she take more? The same I’m giving the High-End Nomu? But … with no quirk of her own, I wonder how she’ll adapt .... interesting, this is very exciting!”

Dabi’s jaw dropped. “You’re giving her a quirk? How can–?”

“Multiple quirks, don’t you listen?” Ujiko grumbled. “She will need regeneration to fix the body and internal organs. It’s lucky All For One is here. I can forego surgery and recovery times. I wonder how long it will take for the quirks to stabilize in a quirkless body. Such a rare find. I need to make sure I record the outcome …”

Dabi was almost prepared to pick Hoshiko back up and carry her to the nearest hospital, but he knew that she would never make it. Ujiko, as insane as he seemed, and All For One were her last hope. He had no other option than to place his trust in them.

“Why don’t you wait outside,” Ujiko said. “Kurogiri had something to tell you.”

Dabi ground his teeth, but he had to remember that he was with the League of Villains now, and Hoshiko was in ‘good’ hands. With great reluctance, he left the room.

Kurogiri’s mist-like form waited in a quiet corner of the factory, and Dabi approached like a beast on the hunt, his eyes narrowed and his body tense.

“What do you want?” he asked, his gravelly voice filled with impatience. “I left Hoshiko to come see you, so spit it out.”

“I am here because, since you are currently otherwise engaged, Tomura Shigaraki asked me to inform you of our current plan.”

Dabi’s lips thinned. “Plan?”

“I’m sure you’re aware of the UA Sports Festival?” Kurogiri asked.

Dabi nodded. He hadn’t seen much of this year's festival since he’d been spending more time with Hoshiko, but he’d seen the Todoroki kid croak, seen him blasted against the wall by the boy with anger issues. That was all he’d needed to satisfy himself.

“The winner, Katsuki Bakugou; we think he has the potential to join us. Tomura Shigaraki would like to recruit him.” Kurogiri paused, straightening his grey waistcoat. “But we need to get to him first, and that opportunity is coming up. We’ll have one chance.”

Dabi sighed. “Got it. I’ll make sure I’m available.”

Kurogiri nodded his head, the foggy fragments of his strange body flickering as he did. “Good. I will inform Tomura Shigaraki. For now, I’ll wish you and Miss Hoshiko well.”

With a polite nod, Kurogiri teleported away, and Dabi doubled over, his palms clenching on his knees. So much had happened, was still happening. Was it too much? This was just the beginning, how had he let himself become so overwhelmed? He swallowed the ache in his throat and composed himself. There was a long way to go before he met with his ultimate goal. He felt the flickering heat of the blue flames in his hands. There were so many things in the world that would be swallowed by the rage he held within him, but for now, he had to be patient. There were other things demanding his attention. Adrift in his rumination, he lost all track of time as he considered what the future held in store for him.

CRASH!

Dabi was yanked from his thoughts by a loud blast coming from the room he’d left Hoshiko in. His eyes widened in shock and he dashed into the room the noise had emanated from.

“What the hell–?” Dabi exclaimed. The room was wrecked, Ujiko was on the floor rubbing his head, and Hoshiko was nowhere to be seen. “What happened?!”

Ujiko groaned as he climbed back onto his feet. ���That might have been … a miscalculation. She … I don’t think she could handle the quirks. She took the regeneration quirk fairly well; the strength enhancer was a little touch and go; it might have been the air walk quirk that did it. Three was too much. But she was a blank slate; such a shame.”

Dabi punched the nearest wall, creating a crack in the weakened structure. “I told you she wasn’t a fucking experiment!” he yelled, barely holding back his fury. “Where did she go?”

Ujiko’s eyes were wide as he glanced over at the hole in the side of the room. “She’s basically a living Nomu at this point, a complete failure at that. I’m not sure what she might do, but she seemed ready to rampage. I think the cocktail of new quirks and her brush with death may have broken her mind.”

Dabi felt a trickle of unequivocal dread creep down his spine in the face of Ujiko’s works. “Broken … her mind?” He took a step towards the blasted wall, followed by another, and soon he was running in pursuit of the woman who’d captured his heart.

Rubble. Piles of it mounted where once had stood buildings. Screams and cries filled Dabi’s ears as people fled the destruction the living Nomu wreaked. Dabi’s hands balled into tight fists. That’s all she was now. A mindless Nomu, created by a mad scientist. Hoshiko would never cause harm like this. She could be brash, sometimes rude, often confrontational, but never so dangerous. The creature currently destroying all in her path had Hoshiko’s body and face, but what made her Hoshiko—what made her the woman he had learned to care for—was gone from the world. He hated that knowledge, every fibre of him wanted to deny it, but it was the awful truth.

“Hoshiko!” he yelled, his one last hope stapled on to the sound of her name.

She did not turn. She did not acknowledge him. She continued to smash and break, pound and blast, her new air walk quirk allowing her a wider range of destruction, her chaotic rampage the only source of her attention.

Dabi choked back his emotions as blue flames flickered wildly in his palm. “I’m sorry, Hoshiko,” he mumbled as he blasted her with his blue inferno.

She screamed as the flesh burned from her bones, only to be immediately regenerated. Dabi did not stop. He continued to let his fire consume her. The air became thick with the smell of charred skin, a smell he knew well, but still, he let his fire tear her apart over and over. The air was so hot that it became harder to breathe. He could see that her blackened skin was healing more slowly, and her maddening shrieks were weakening. Finally, she fell, crashing to the ground, defeated.

Hoshiko didn't live in the same world he used to, didn't even go by the same name he used to. He couldn't, not when this world likely had its own Midoriya Izuku. He'd lived a life too long and too far away from his old one. But in this world, he was happy. In this world, he'd been a scientist, a hero, a businessman, a professor- he had been able to do so many things. And now, he was a father to an adopted son that had needed help, and the teacher for a student who just wanted a chance to be a hero. He was, at least, happy.

Still, he wished he could see his friends from his old life once again.

| Background |

   Yamako Anko is the second daughter to Kaiya and Shoma Yamako. Her older brother Kenta is six years older than her. Anko's parents were petty criminals who worked in convenience stores and robbed to make money to sustain their children.  They did not want to be criminals, but that was the only way to give life to their children. Again and again, they would remind Kenta and Anko that they should be better than them and become heroes or do something better with their lives. The Yamako family was secure and happy. They were a tight-knit family, and they showed love to each other in every way that they could. They would have days where they would all watch movies together while eating their favorite foods. Tragically, one evening at the convenience store Shoma and Kaiya worked for was robbed by low-life villains. In the entanglement, they were both killed. Kenta (13) and Anko (7) were left alone. Immediately after, their aunt from their mother's side, Hitomi, adopted the children. It became apparent that Hitomi did not like Anko since she harbored her father's looks and quirk. One day while Kenta was at school, Hitomi grew extremely angry at Anko for defending her father that she beat Anko with her fists until she grabbed a piece of broken glass and dragged it across Anko's left eye. Anko's demon form came out and got out of control as it clawed away at Hitomi until she was dead. When the police were called to the crime scene, Haru's aunt, Hinata, and Kenta arrived. While the police knew that Anko killed Hitomi by accident, the police had nobody to leave both of the Yamako children with so Hinata offered to adopt both children.

  Anko is very respectful of her parents, and every week, she will visit them and tell them about her week and what she is feeling at the moment. On her birthday, Anko tends to get some rice noodles and eat by her parents' grave. Every Christmas, Kenta and Anko cook rice ramen ( Anko and Shoma's favorite food) and soba ( Kaiya's favorite food) and eat with their parents.

  Anko first introduces Todoroki to her parent's grave after school, and she tells her parents how much Shouto means to her and how he is the first person to understand her truly. She told them about his quirks and how amazing and talented he is. After that first meeting, Anko has seen Shouto at her parent's grave, telling them how grateful he is to have Anko in his life and how he promises to respect and protect her. Every Christmas before visiting his mother, Todoroki eats with Kenta and Anko at the graves.

| Quirks |

   Anko has two quirks, a negativity manipulation, and a demon form. Her negativity manipulation allows her to manipulate any negative emotion into raw energy. This quirk comes from Anko's mom, and the negative is that she has chronic depression, and if she does not release her strength, her depression can become severe. Her demon form comes from her dad, and it is a demonic form of Anko that is capable of ripping apart anyone and anything with its teeth or claws. The demon form is also able to see the components and details of someone's blood through taste.

    Because the demon form can be hazardous, Anko had grown to resent it. This form of her's is dangerous and incredibly creepy to the point that many people tend to stray from Anko in fear of what she can do to them.  Anko had a deep hatred of this quirk, and while she resented the quirk, she could not resent her father for it. She was consistently conflicted with the fact that she loves and respects her father, but she hates the quirk and the misery it has brought her. Anko would often express her sadness to her parents' grave.
