While I'm here casting everyone and their mothers. The fact that they had Eve, Steve, Sian, and Paddy playing their characters in their 20's. The youngest of that group was in their early 40's. Playing late to early twenties
On the one hand I love that HoTD gave newer and lesser-known actors their breakout roles but at the same time if HBO does Aegon’s Conquest I am beggging that they cast Hunter Schafer and Florence Pugh and Visenya and Rhaenys. It would be so perfect.
hi there! i was just wondering, do you have any fancasts for cregan stark? like anyone you could see as him before s2 comes out? sorry if this is a weird question :(
Not a weird question at all! I'm a massive fan of the asoiaf universe & probably know more about Westeros history than I do actual history, so questions like this are my favorite! I'm sure they’ll be casting a relatively unknown actor to play him, but until then here are a few I think could fit the role as Cregan Stark!
CLIVE STANDEN
While reading about Cregan Stark I had always envisioned him to resemble season one Rollo (Clive Standen) from VIkings! Sadly, Clive is too old to portray Cregan in HOTD as it seems they’re going to stick to his canon age, which was around 21-23 during the Dance of the Dragons.

GIJS BLOM
Honestly I think Gijs Blom is the perfect fancast for Cregan! His entire look in The Letter for the King reminded me of a Stark. Kinda reminds me of Robb. He’s also 25 so as I mentioned earlier he’s the perfect age for a fancast closer to canon! I can only imagine the HOTD team getting their hands on him— all he needs is a wig and some fur. He’s my personal preference and most likely the one I’ll be using for future Cregan fics!

LEO SUTER
Despite being a bit older (late 20s), I could also see Leo Suter as another option! He’s got the mass and height that Cregan is said to have. His performance in Vikings: Valhalla was, in my opinion, outstanding. Leo has a natural aura about him that just screams House Stark. I think he is a fantastic contender for the fancast of Cregan Stark!
HBO will miss the ball if they don't cast Jodhi May as Johanna Westerling, the all-around badass that wore men's armor and led the Westermen into battle against the Ironborn. I don't care about her age. They cast Jefferson Hall who is in his 40s to play Tyland and Jason Lannister. And he was courting Milly's Rhaenyra! Casting a 45-year-old man in a role that probably should be played by a man in his early 30s at most but refusing to cast an actress of the same age to play his widow is ageism, pure and simple. Look at her as the Lioness of Cintra and tell me she's not perfect for the role.
I waver on my ideal older Lucerys fancasts by the day, but I have to say, I’m watching 1899, and I already knew the actor from The White Queen, but now I cannot unsee a likeness between Elliot Grihault & Aneurin Barnard.
The face shape + mouth + coloring + a lot about the brows + eyes?
Even the nose seems pretty on point to me against all logic.
Am I seeing things? Tricking myself? Or is there something there?
Maybe, maybe not, but either way, there’s an energy about the actors that feels SO similar, at least to me.
Last major castings for the older actors. Where the age impacts the story enough that they should've done a little switch. Older and younger, depending on the character.
