her power is the Blowing Wind element which allows her to shapeshift and control Winds + Storms. Attacks Jii Magika: Her elemental magic through wind, make's her manipulate it in various ways. Maagi Magiiro: with her main magical ability, transformation, she can transform into anything (example: a bee and a fan). Abilities Houka can shapeshift and use her Wind power in and out of her Ranger form.

Houka doing her usual magic mailbox routine only for someone to actually put mail in her (or alternatively she’s disguised as a trash can when someone actually tries to put trash in her)

Houka being Houka, she breaks the ruse immediately by yelling at the offending party, which of course freaks the fuck out of the poor sod who just wanted to mail his letters/packages or throw their trash

Of course, the person Houka's spying on- likely one of her siblings- was perfectly aware they were being spied on because Houka is not subtle at all

5. Crunchula (Kiramager)

I HAVE GOT TO QUEEN OUT WITH THIS BITCH!!!! Well actually I think it's less that I want to hang out with him and more like I want him to be like a high school art teacher that would let me hang out in their classroom during lunch and complain to me about their life and how the local art scene sucks

4. Gentarou Kisaragi (Fourze)

I think we would get on great but we wouldn't click 100%, however I think a couple of rounds of some kind of overly intense team sport with this guy would be good for me

3. Houka Ozu (Magiranger)

Obviously she's really funny and would be a blast to hang out with but genuinely I think we could be good friends if she was real and my friend. I'm also from a big family and kind of loose and irresponsible I think we would vibe

2. Shu Ishido (Arc)

This is going to seem like a weird pick for me but most of my close irls are this type of guy exactly so I think we'd get on. I also have a caffeine addiction so we'd understand each other

1. Godai Yusuke (Kuuga)

This is more wishful thinking but I love this guy and I want to be his friend so bad. I think we share a couple of unhealthy traits when it comes to handling emotions but it's fine. We can kayak.

Kwame has a lot of personality traits associated with a magical girl: loving, a good leader, concerned about his friends, the one who is willing to forgive first and fastest, never impatient when someone doesn't know something, always thinking about the risk to people and animals of using his superpowers, he will never give up on someone over things like past drug use or past (or current) gang affiliation, and he is unwavering in his belief that people, deep down, want to do the right thing inherently.

Kwame's ring was of the element earth, used to create small, localized earthquakes; move rocks in the earth; cause holes or furrows in the earth for planting; create tiny islands by raising rocks from the shallows of the ocean; and turn mud into solid ground.

Kwame was chosen because, on his entire continent, he was the purest of heart. That is core to canon.

Kwame is a strong-hearted, determined kid who has seen the worst of humanity in Africa (he is inspired by the survivors of a brutal slaughter) and has not given up hope. He uses his powers to protect, to attack, to bring down, and to restore-- he's creative with it. Though he's sometimes quieter than the other members of his team, it's more than he stays calmer and thinks before he speaks or acts; this is not a kid who accidentally sets things on fire or says things he'll regret. Also, I like his jewelry. Aaaaaaand he's voiced by LeVar Burton, just sayin'...

Four episodes into Magiranger and I'm already liking it a lot so thought dump time (SLIGHT SPOILERS BELOW THE CUT)

The team's sibling dynamic, which I consider to be the strongest and most important aspect of the show, was handled very well especially with how every focus episode revolves around a specific pairing (2 - Tsubasa and Houka, 3 - Kai and Makito, 4 - Kai and Urara, etc.) to develop their relationship with each other and I like how they're not afraid to get into their conflicts right away (like episode 4 starting off with Urara getting upset at Kai for accidentally breaking their mother's compact) before resolving them with great character development to boot

As for who my favorite is all of them are great (I tend to do this often with Sentai compared to KR or PreCure where I'm more particular and pick out favorites right away) but I'm leaning more towards Urara and Kai

Speaking of Kai: his arc as a protagonist has a good setup with him as the youngest sibling who tries to catch up with his older siblings and learns the show's main message of what it means to actually have courage vs. being reckless (like when he risked himself to save the girl's balloon in episode 1)

The show's magic system and worldbuilding are executed well with each episode having a corresponding spell of the week that appears when the cast resolves their episodic conflicts that are also relevant to the show's theme of courage

The villains are also interesting with great designs to go along with it, particularly Wolzard (who seems to have some history with the Ozu family) and Vancuria (whose human "form" is two sisters that I assume balances out the Ozu siblings' own dynamic)

As for the designs the suits are all great (capes ftw) and definitely one of my all time favorite Sentai suit designs now, same with the mecha and I liked how both of them utilize the mythological sub-motif well

Both the opening and ending songs go hard but I'm more partial to the latter especially during the chorus since it gets stuck in my head more :P

Might be too early for me to rank the show but it has already dethroned Jetman as my third favorite Sentai overall (behind both Donbrothers and King-Ohger)

Tldr since I'm bad at wording stuff: Magiranger is amazing and you should watch it, that is all

Ozu son: Sorry, Auntie Urara and Uncle Hikaru. Apologies.

Hikaru: It seems your father also taught you some proper manners as well as etiquette.

Ozu son: Yeah...

Tsubasa: So when's dinner gonna be ready?

Houka: Until Makito, mom, and dad get back from grocery. Though after in-law and little bro do their deed... my bets that in-law is bringing food to cook. Or stored.

I'm not really sure how else to react to these sorts of things anymore XD
