my manager: “oh no housefee for you since you got here at open. no wonder you’re pissed. you worked so long today. i know it’s no consolation, but you’re the top earner tonight.”

and i know this. and i sneak a peak at the computer screen and see girls who left today with 1, 2, and 300.

but i did a 2.5 hour vip, knowing i gave an extra 30 mins but accepting that, but it turns out i gave an extra HOUR without knowing. should’ve made an extra 400. i express my concern, but i’m not a bitch about it. i’m just tired.

it’s still a k night. my first here and definitely not my last.

Fees: at least $10/ 10% of earnings to the DJ (you'll have to pay housefees twice if you work mid), $5 to the house mom, $6 to the bathroom housemom, $20 (dayshift)/$25(night shift) to door man, $5 to the valet. If your VIP rooms are charged via credit card, you'll receive a 20% deduction (I'll discuss this in further detail) Rules: It's a burlesque club. You'll have to wear bottoms when you're not selling dances, VIPs, or working the pole. You'll need an accessory on stage and on the floor so that the club can stay true to its a title. No floorwork (or at least anything more than a quick drop to the floor) One of four clubs in Atlanta without a $350 license and is honestly the only one of the 4 that isn't high contact/ extras heavy and no schedule. They do at least expect you to work a MOnday, SUnday, or Saturday a week. Management: Very sweet house moms that are very willing to work with you and answer any of your questions regarding the club. THe management is....management? They're stern but not overbearing. They know damn well that the rules the city places on the dancers are absurd Crowd: It's mixed during the night though there are more older white men during the day. Gets pretty crowded at night. You won't really have to fight anyone off here for contact. Its very regulars based during the day but you can still sell dances off of regulars (though it might be harder for them to budge when it comes to buying VIPs from you). Customers are pretty respectful as well Dances/VIP: $10 air dances on the floor. Tips are pretty easy to get here. AT LEAST $150 for a 30 min VIP and $300 for a 60 min VIP. Customers are charged a room fee depending on the size of the room and the duration of the VIP. VIPs aren't really hard to sell. If your VIP is charged by credit card ONLY pay your DJ 10% of your FLOOR earnings;the 20% deduction accounts for his portion of the VIP. Don't be stupid like me and pay twice as much as you were supposed to. Dancers: NIght shift: mostly young women with a few older women. Varied body shapes though I'd say that no one was "out of shape". Racial makeup: 60% White, 20 % Latina, 15% Asian, 5%Black Day SHift: Mostly older women with some variation in body shapes. 50% White. 40% Black, 10% Other The ugly truth: Black dancers typically have a harder time getting hired here due to the unofficial quota. They may also have a harder time some days working the floor since a bunch of the guys here are looking for a certain "aesthetic" (aka the blonde bombshell/girl next door)

Confused

So my new club’s daytime housefee is $25 (same cost as a dance), which includes a $5 DJ tip, which is much more reasonable than my last club (they charged $45+ 15 for DJ, so 60).

But VIPs are a total rip off. At my last club, VIP was $125/15 min, and we got $100 from it (unless you didn’t pay the $45 normal fee, in which case they’d take that out too).

But here VIPs are $150/15 min but we only get 90 (or 70 if you haven’t Paid your normal house fee). So they take 1/3 of our VIPS, but they’re reasonable on normal house fees (at least weekdays).

How do clubs come up with these house fee systems, like they’re so arbitrary. They vary on day, time/shift, and don’t get me started on DJ and bouncer tip outs.
