#how i think Ji Hyuk loves Jiwon

There's something so selfless about the way in which Ji Hyuk is in love with Jiwon. It feels closer to devotion and worship than the usual romantic love. For me, its all in the eyes. The way he looks at her. My God. I am longing for you. I am yearning for you. I know you. I want to know you more. I am drawn to you. I cannot stop. I am so sorry I let you slip away the first time. Never again. Nothing matters more to me than you. My nightmares are made of being separated from you but your happiness matters more to me than my fear. But. If you say I am your happiness. Then I am yours. Let me save you. Oh? You want to save yourself? Then, at least, let me be the solid land you stand on. I love you so much I am content just looking at you. Even if my eyes give me away. I am content just being around you. Everything I do and everything I am, yours.
I think that is the purest, almost unattainable form of love. Maybe that is why it took two lifetimes to get it right. To want someone so much that you would do something so counterintuitive and difficult so as to hold yourself back. She is his whole world. And yet, he was willing to let her go.
I am in love with you. It goes on and on and on and it never goes away.

hi, are there any short romantic dramas you’d rec that are as good as splash splash love?
i’d totally recommend KBS Drama Specials! they’re usually about 1 episode long, but are generally pretty good
some more romantic ones are:
Let Us Meet (one of my favourites - set in 1937, about a girl who joins a matchmaking agency to find a husband)   (Jo Bo Ah and Son Ho Jun)
Bride in Sneakers (another favourite, its fun and its cute!)  (Lee Chung Ah and Kim Jin Woo)
Miss Kim’s Mystery (hilarious antics as an undercover investigator and a company intern try to find a company spy) (Dasom and Kwon Hyuk Soo)
Review Notebook of My Embarrassing Days (another really cute one about a math teacher who is chosen as an exam writer and an on-site police officer) (Jeon So Min and Park Sung Hoon)
Funny Woman (a sweet and fun 2-part romcom about an aspiring comedian who wishes to change her name to Go Ri La and the judge who keeps rejecting her application)  (Moon Ji In and Kim Ji Hoon)
Buzzcut Love (i dont know how to explain this one without giving spoilers but its sweet)  (Kang Yeon Jung and Kim Jung Hyun)
and these ones are a little more melo romance:
Too Bright for Romance (this one has mixed reviews for sure, but its my favourite - its subtle and realistic)  (Choi Kang Hee and Go Joon)
Dancing The Waltz Alone (form KBS: “Someone else’s misfortune is my happiness and vice versa.” What if your lover becomes your competition?) (Moon Ga Young and Yeo Hoi-Hyeon)
The Expiration Date of You and Me (a story about missed timing and missed opportunities) (Shin Hyun Soo and Lee Da In)
The Long Goodbye (after 8 years of dating, a novelist and an editor’s relationship begins to dwindle) (Jang Hee Jin and Lim Ju Hwan)
Come To Me Like A Star (two people at rock bottom fall in love - as noted by KBS “a touching and yet coldly realistic love story”) (Jung So Min and Kim Ji Suk)
Why I’m Getting Married (Seunguk and Jiwon have been engaged for a while, but wedding planning is not the sugar coated dream Jiwon expected; and as an old friend returns to the picture, she becomes conflicted.)  (Park Hee Von and Hong Jong Hyun)
You Are Closer Than I Think (KBS to avoid spoilers: The bride disappeared on the day of the wedding. She left her wedding dress in the waiting room and left for Morocco by herself for honeymoon.) (Kim So Eun and Lee Sang Yeob)
and if you’re interested i have a more general list here

Since I’ve been really into KBS drama specials recently, I thought I’d do a recommendation list of sorts to introduce more people to them! And the great thing about them is they’re short and sweet aka 1 hour long specials! (with the exception of 1)
(All the links lead to the KBS World upload of the episodes on youtube.)
and since emojis are always helpful:  🌟- personal favourites (but really i like all of them) 👩🏻 - female centric (most of the ones that dont have this emoji are really 50/50 though, and some do focus more on the girl)
Light Hearted/Romantic
Let Us Meet (one of my favourites - set in 1937, about a girl who joins a matchmaking agency to find a husband) 🌟  (Jo Bo Ah and Son Ho Jun)
Bride in Sneakers (another favourite, its fun and its cute!) 🌟 (Lee Chung Ah and Kim Jin Woo)
Miss Kim’s Mystery (hilarious antics as an undercover investigator and a company intern try to find a company spy) (Dasom and Kwon Hyuk Soo)
Review Notebook of My Embarrassing Days (another really cute one about a math teacher who is chosen as an exam writer and an on-site police officer) 👩🏻 (Jeon So Min and Park Sung Hoon)
Funny Woman (a sweet and fun 2-part romcom about an aspiring comedian who wishes to change her name to Go Ri La and the judge who keeps rejecting her application) 👩🏻 (Moon Ji In and Kim Ji Hoon)
Buzzcut Love (i dont know how to explain this one without giving spoilers but its sweet) 👩🏻 (Kang Yeon Jung and Kim Jung Hyun)
Forgiveness/Morality (i don’t know how to explain these plots w/o spoilers so i’ll give KBS’ synopsis instead - they don’t sound like wowow but trust me they’re good!)
Glass Prison (Sujeong lost her younger sister in a hit-and-run accident 10 years ago. She tries to find the suspect but the limitations period has passed.)   👩🏻 (dir. Lee Eung Bok)
Pinocchio’s Nose (The protagonist has become a psychologist to expose a lie that turned her life into a nightmare.)   👩🏻 (Lee Yoo Ri)
So Close Yet So Far (Yeongju was a promising curler but she suddenly started getting a ringing in the ears which hindered her play.) 👩🏻 (Kim Min Seok and Park Yoona)
Melancholy Romance
Too Bright for Romance (this one has mixed reviews for sure, but its my favourite - its subtle and realistic) 🌟 (Choi Kang Hee and Go Joon)

You Are Closer Than I Think (KBS to avoid spoilers: The bride disappeared on the day of the wedding. She left her wedding dress in the waiting room and left for Morocco by herself for honeymoon.) (Kim So Eun and Lee Sang Yeob)
Family/Found Family
Oh Man Bok Is Pretty (i think this was the first drama special i watched, its so warm and sweet and also has a bengali actor in it!) 🌟👩🏻  (Ra Mi Ran and Kim Hyang Gi)
Fake Family  (you know when you watch a drama, and the female lead is constantly putting up with her trash family and you just wanna scream “LEAVE THEM ALREADY!” well, finally someone heard those screams and made a drama special about it!) 🌟👩🏻 (Lee Ha Na)
My Mother’s Third Marriage (i don’t want to say its kind of like Tempted, but it is kind of but 100x better and focused on a mother-daughter relationship before anything else) 👩🏻 (Lee Yeol Eum)
Three Female Runaways (3 unappreciated/unloved women from very different backgrounds find solidarity with one another)👩🏻 (Seo Ye Ji, Jang Hee Jin & Park Hae Mi)
Kang Deok Sun’s Love History (set in 1926, this story follows a young girl as she joins a band of female rebels)👩🏻 (Kim So Hye)

a (long) mini drama review post
aka what i’m watching, what i’m not, and what i’m planning to.
currently watching
live — noh heekyung? lee kwangsoo? sung dong il? jung yumi? realistic portrayals of the police system (still propaganda in the end) that aren’t just to ‘protect and serve’ and the very real realities of the job??? the writer combined with this cast made it a must watch since jump and it hasn’t disappointed. live is generally...not dark or depressing, but real. it’s something i have to really sit down and watch, and it hasn’t disappointed. i continue to believe noh heekyung will be one of the few writers who do justice by kwangsoo’s acting and range of acting.
mystery queen 2 — i am very.....the only way i can explain how i’m currently feeling about mq2 can only be described with the thinking emoji. i still enjoy watching the shenanigans seol ok and wanseung get into (though that whole noryangdong storyline was really too drawn out), but my main interested for s2 was the bigger, darker storyline. we’re halfway through the drama and things are still as muddled as they were. i’m starting to wonder if kbs intends to turn this into a multi season thing, ie rude ms. young ae. considering a lot of this season has mostly been what i see to be team building (seol ok, wanseung, inspector woo, constable shin, kyungmi, professor hwang, etc).
a poem a day — i was originally going to put off watching this, but i’m glad i didn’t! i’m really enjoying this in the same way i’m enjoying live, but in a more lighthearted fashion. not so much focus on the job, but on the interpersonal relationships within the medical department, and also not on surgeons and doctors, but on physical therapists and radiologists, etc, some unsung heroes of medicine. lee yoobi has my heart. where i stand on the two male leads??? very undecided (but joonhyuk will probably win. i love him too much).
misty — i feel really behind but i’m on episode 14 and i really....really...do not want to face the reality of what’s waiting for me at the end. i’m too scared. but regardless, hyeran has done nothing wrong. i also love how she and jiwon have built a real partnership.i also love the whole staff of misty, especially whoever does kim nam joo’s hair, makeup and the like??? i’m always in awe.
not on hold, but watching leisurely
laughter in waikiki — i’m behind by a few weeks, but this continues to be a relaxing favorite of mine to watch. with the episode extension, i’m okay watching this a little bit longer, truly.
the great seducer — i only got up to episode 4 with all the other dramas i’m watching but this is such a guilty pleasure kind of drama. like the soaps pta moms indulge on while their kids are napping or at school. i will say, even though the main couple is joy and dohwan, im really enjoying watching gayoung, dohwan and minjae a lot more. it’s horribly cringey as a drama, but am i probably gonna finish it? yeah.
my mister — i can really only take this in doses considering this is very dark and depressing. i’m watching a bit skeptically considering i’m still concerned for obvious reasons, but the cast is beautiful and i am ESPECIALLY glad oh dalsoo got kicked out and replaced by park hosan. it’s what park hosan deserves. no i didn’t watch prison playbook. but i know him. i also enjoy his gray hair a lot. it fits him.
chicago typewriter — im very slowly watching, but i love it. i’ll continue to love it. yoo ah in has yet to fail me.
planning to watch
something in the rain — as soon as we get subs i’m ALL over this. jung haein? son yejin??? cuteness? food? this has my name all over it to be honest.
should we kiss first — i love dramas about full grown adults. i will watch eventually, bet.
switch — ..............we all know i don’t like jang geun seuk’s acting right? but we also all know i’m a die hard for han yeri right? am i going to have problems watching this drama? yes. will i probably drop it? yes. will i still try for han yeri? yes.
miracle that we met — i’m really in this for ra miran...really..that’s about it.
upcoming dramas i’ll be checking out
life — the writer of secret forest? jo seung woo? lee dong wook? won jin ah? yoo jae myung? a medical drama? this has my name allllll over it.
greasy melo — junho, jang hyuk, jung ryeo won? i honestly don’t know what it’s about but i’m sure as hell gonna check it out.
mr sunshine — i love the whole cast except for lee byung hun. the filming looks stunning, as expected. only hoping for....less cheese and more action.
lawless lawyer — lee joongi and seo yeji. lee hyeyoung after she broke me in mother. i rest my case.
hundred days husband — i’m reallllyy eh about this because saeguk’s are rarely my thing. but for kyungsoo and nam ji hyun? i’ll give it a try.
mistress, suits , come here and hug me — no real thoughts yet but i’m intrigued.
