How DoorDash Dashers Are Changing the Gig Economy
Tumblr media
Introduction
DoorDash Dashers are reshaping the gig economy. Their work is simple, delivering food to customers. However, their impact on the labor market is growing. More people are choosing gig work over traditional jobs. This change shows that flexibility and independence are key in today’s workforce. Dashers enjoy being their own boss. They pick their hours, accept the orders they like, and can work where they want. These benefits are attracting many, from students to retirees, who want extra income without strict schedules.
Flexibility Over Tradition
Dashers, and gig workers like them, are opting out of traditional 9-to-5 jobs. This trend is shifting how companies hire. The freedom of gig work appeals to those who want control over their time. People are less tied to one employer. They work when and where they need. For example, a college student can deliver food in the evening while studying during the day. This flexibility is invaluable for those balancing other commitments. As more people choose this path, companies may need to rethink full-time positions.
Experiences Shaping the Market
Many Dashers share positive experiences. For instance, a single mother may dash during school hours, earning while her children are in class. This freedom is rare in traditional jobs. Dashers also have more control over their earnings. They can accept high-paying orders, work peak hours, or dash in busy areas to increase their pay. These choices help people shape their own financial future, unlike jobs with fixed salaries. As more workers turn to gig jobs, it may force a change in how companies treat their employees, offering more flexibility or gig-like options.
In summary, Dashers are altering the job market. Their influence shows how gig work is becoming mainstream. This change will likely grow, affecting how businesses hire and workers choose jobs.

Experian doxes the world (again)
Tumblr media
The nonconsensually compiled dossiers of personal information that Experian assembled on the entire population of the USA may currently be exposed via dozens, perhaps hundreds, of sites, thanks to a grossly negligent security defect in Experian's API.
The breach was detected by Bill Demirkapi, a security researcher and RIT sophomore, and reported on by Brian Krebs, the excellent independent security reporter.
https://krebsonsecurity.com/2021/04/experian-api-exposed-credit-scores-of-most-americans/
Experian, like Equifax, has unilaterally arrogated to itself the right to collect, store and disseminate our personal information, and, like Equifax, it faces little regulation, including obligations not to harm us or penalties when it does.
Experian's API allows criminals to retrieve your credit info by supplying your name and address, information that is typically easy to find, especially in the wake of multiple other breaches, such as Doordash's 5m-person 2019 breach and Drizzly's 2.5m-person 2020 breach.
Demirkapi explains that the API is implemented by many, many sites across the internet, and while Experian assured Krebs that this bug only affected a single site, it did not explain how it came to that conclusion.
Demirkapi discovered the defect while he was searching for a student loan vendor. There is a way to defend yourself against this attack: freeze your credit report. Credit freezes were made free (but opt-in only) in 2018, after the Equifax breach.
https://krebsonsecurity.com/2018/09/credit-freezes-are-free-let-the-ice-age-begin/
Indeed, you may have already been thinking about the Equifax breach as you read this. In many ways, that breach was a wasted opportunity to seriously re-examine the indefensible practices of the credit-reporting industry, which had not been seriously scrutinized since 1976.
1976 was the year that Congress amended the Equal Credit Opportunity Act after hearing testimony about the abuses of the Retail Credit Company - a company that swiftly changed its name to "Equifax" to distance itself from the damning facts those hearings brought to light.
Retail Credit/Equifax invented credit reporting when it was founded in Atlanta in 1899. For more than half a century, it served as a free market Stasi to whom neighbors could quietly report each other for violating social norms.
Retail Credit's permanent, secret files recorded who was suspected of being gay, a "race-mixer" or a political dissident so that banks and insurance companies could discriminate against them.
https://www.jacobinmag.com/2017/09/equifax-retail-credit-company-discrimination-loans
This practice was only curbed when a coalition of white, straight conservative men discovered that they'd been misidentified as queers and commies and demanded action, whereupon Congress gave Americans limited rights to see and contest their secret files.
But these controls were never more than symbolic. Congress couldn't truly blunt the power of these private-sector spooks, because the US government depends on them to determine eligibility for Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid.
It's a public-private partnership from hell. Credit reporting bureaux collect data the government is not legally allowed to collect on its own, then sells that data to the government (Equifax makes $200m/year doing this).
https://web.archive.org/web/20171004200823/http://www.cetusnews.com/business/Equifax-Work-for-Government-Shows-Company%E2%80%99s-Broad-Reach.HkexS6JAq-.html
These millions are recycled into lobbying efforts to ensure that the credit reporting bureaux can continue to spy on us, smear us, and recklessly endanger us by failing to safeguard the files they assemble on us.
This is bad for America, but it's great for the credit reporting industry. The Big Three bureaux (Equifax, Experian and Transunion) have been on a decade-long buying spree, gobbling up hundreds of smaller companies.
These acquisitions lead directly to breaches: a Big Three company that buys a startup inherits its baling-wire-and-spit IT system, built in haste while the company pursued growth and acquisition.
These IT systems have to be tied into the giant acquiring company's own databases, adding to the dozens of other systems that have been cobbled together from previous acquisitions.
This became painfully apparent after the Equifax breach, so much so that even GOP Congressional Committee chairs called the breach "entirely preventable" and the result of "aggressive growth." But they refused to put any curbs on future acquisitions.
https://thehill.com/policy/technology/420582-house-panel-issues-scathing-report-on-entirely-preventable-equifax-data
A lot has happened since Equifax, so you may have forgotten just how fucked up that situation was. Equifax's IT was so chaotic that they couldn't even encrypt the data they'd installed. Two months later, they "weren't sure" if it had been encrypted.
https://searchsecurity.techtarget.com/news/450429891/Following-Equifax-breach-CEO-doesnt-know-if-data-is-encrypted
*Six months* before the breach, outside experts began warning Equifax that they were exposing our data:
https://www.vice.com/en/article/ne3bv7/equifax-breach-social-security-numbers-researcher-warning
The *only* action Equifax execs took? They sold off a shit-ton of stock:
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-03-14/sec-says-former-equifax-executive-engaged-in-insider-trading
The Equifax breach exposed the arrogance and impunity of the Big Three. Afterward, Equifax offered "free" credit monitoring to the people they'd harmed. One catch: it was free for a year; after that, they'd automatically bill you, annually, forever.
https://web.archive.org/web/20170911025943/https://therealnews.com/t2/story:19960:Equifax-Data-Breach-is-a-10-out-of-10-Scandal
And you'd pay in another way if you signed up for that "free" service: the fine print took away your right to sue Equifax, forever, no matter how they harmed you:
https://www.ibtimes.com/political-capital/equifax-lobbied-kill-rule-protecting-victims-data-breaches-2587929
The credit bureaux bill themselves as arbiters of the public's ability to take responsibility for their choices, but after the breach, the CEO blamed the entire affair on a single "forgetful" flunky:
https://www.engadget.com/2017-10-03-former-equifax-ceo-blames-breach-on-one-it-employee.html
Then he stepped down and pocketed a $90m salary that his board voted in favor of:
https://fortune.com/2017/09/26/equifax-ceo-richard-smith-net-worth/
Of course they did! His actions made the company so big that even after the breach, the IRS  picked it to run its anti-fraud. Equifax got $7.5m from Uncle Sucker, and would have kept it except that its anti-fraud site was *serving malware*:
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/equifax-irs-data-breach-malware-discovered/
Equifax eventually settled all the claims against it for $700m in 2019:
https://nypost.com/2019/07/19/equifax-agrees-to-pay-700m-after-massive-data-breach/
But it continued to average five errors per credit report:
https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2019/02/11/rep-alexandria-ocasio-cortez-takes-aim-equifax-credit-scoring/
And it continued to store sensitive user-data in an unencrypted database whose login and password were "admin" and "admin":
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/equifax-password-username-admin-lawsuit-201118316.html
Congress introduced multiple bills to force Equifax, Experian and Transunion to clean up their act.
None of those bills passed.
https://www.axios.com/after-equifaxs-mega-breach-nothing-changed-1536241622-baf8e0cf-d727-43db-b4d4-77c7599fff1e.html
The IRS shrugged its shoulders at America, telling the victims of Equifax's breach that their information had probably already leaked before Equifax doxed them, so no biggie:
https://thehill.com/policy/cybersecurity/355862-irs-significant-number-of-equifax-victims-already-had-info-accessed-by
Since then there have been other mass breaches, most recently the Facebook breach that exposed 500m people's sensitive data. That data can be merged with data from other breaches and even from "anonymized" data-sets that were deliberately released:
https://pluralistic.net/2021/04/21/re-identification/#pseudonymity
And while you can theoretically prevent your data from being stolen using the current Experian vulnerability by freezing your account, that's not as secure as it sounds.
Back in 2017, Brian Krebs reported that Experian's services were so insecure that anyone could retreive the PIN to unlock a frozen credit report by ticking a box on a website:
https://krebsonsecurity.com/2017/09/experian-site-can-give-anyone-your-credit-freeze-pin/
That was just table-stakes - it turned out that ALL the credit bureaux had an arrangement with AT&T's telecoms credit agency that was so insecure that *anyone* could unlock your locked credit report:
https://krebsonsecurity.com/2018/05/another-credit-freeze-target-nctue-com/
These companies came into existence to spy on Americans in order to facilitate mass-scale, racist, ideological and sexual discrimination. They gather data of enormous import and sensitivity - data no one should be gathering, much less retaining and sharing.
They handle this data in cavalier ways, secure in the knowledge that their integration with the US government wins them powerful stakeholders who will ensure that the penalties for the harm they inflict add up to less than profits those harms generate for their shareholders.
This is why America needs a federal privacy law with a "private right of action" - the ability to sue companies that harm you, rather than hoping that federal prosecutors or regulators will decide to enforce the law.
https://pluralistic.net/2021/04/16/where-it-hurts/#sue-facebook
Experian promises that this breach only affects one company that mis-implemented its API. We would be suckers to take it at its word. It didn't know about this breach until a college sophomore sent in a bug report - how would it know if there were others?

How to Find Web Design Jobs
How to Find Web Design Jobs If you're looking for a web design job, there are several places to look. You may want to check out LinkedIn, Job boards, or Bootcamps. There are also many web design companies that provide remote work opportunities. All of these options are great options for new designers. Depending on your skills and the company's needs, you can choose to work from home or from an office. However, there are some risks involved. Job boards Several job boards specialize in web design. For instance, AIGA is an industry association of design professionals in the USA that runs a web design job board. This job board is searchable for jobs worldwide. Another job board is Authentic Jobs, which is run by creative professionals. It began as a personal website more than a decade ago and has since expanded to become a leading design job board. The website is free to use and features a search function for jobs posted by companies. You can also subscribe to job feeds based on keywords. This platform also allows you to apply for the roles posted. The website also has a useful layout that makes it easy to compare available projects based on the budget of the client. For example, if a client is looking for a low budget web design, it will say so on the job listing. LinkedIn LinkedIn has long been the standard for networking among professionals. It has now become a social media platform for job seekers as well. To maximize your opportunities on Linkedin, make sure you update your profile regularly. You can post your latest job or highlight any certificates you may have obtained from online courses. If you are just starting out, you may want to opt for the free plan to get more exposure. LinkedIn is also a great platform to find new clients. You can search for potential clients by keyword and join relevant groups. When you are looking for new projects, you should include a portfolio, a description of the project, and contact information. WeWorkRemotely One of the best ways to find web design jobs is to use a freelance website such as WeWorkRemotely. This website has a large database of remote job listings and is free to search. It allows you to narrow your search by categories such as contract or design. Another great way to find remote web design jobs is to use Twitter. Many companies will post tweets when they need freelancers. To find these tweets, all you have to do is to search for relevant keywords. Twitter is a massive website, and users post all sorts of content. If you know how to search for relevant content, you'll be able to find the jobs that match your skills. Another option is to create a profile on ZipRecruiter. This website is similar to Indeed and can help you find web design freelance jobs on any given day. It is also free to create an account on ZipRecruiter, and recruiters can find you and invite you to apply. Bootcamps Web design bootcamps offer a variety of courses, including online, instructor-led, or self-paced options. Many offer career services and the opportunity to learn from top-notch professors. Some programs are completely free, while others charge a fee for a certificate of completion. Generally, these programs focus on user interface design, user experience design, and research skills. During the course, students learn fundamentals of web design, develop a portfolio, and develop foundations in front-end development. Some programs also offer career instruction, such as resume workshops and interview preparation. Bootcamps are best for those who want to pursue a career in web design but are new to the industry. Many courses are beginner-friendly, such as those at General Assembly. However, some classes require students to already have computer literacy. However, those with previous experience can enroll in a prep course that will give them an advantage in the job market. Bootcamps typically last from three to nine months. Social media There are many ways to market your skills and find web design jobs. You can start with a personal website, where you can display a portfolio of your work and provide information on your skills. Make sure you include your contact details and price list. After that, you can approach people who are planning big events and offer your services. LinkedIn is another great resource for web designers, where you can easily network with other professionals. You can post educational material, follow other web developers, or even get referrals from existing clients. This social network focuses on professional networking and allows you to post your resume, references, and certifications. You can also get endorsements from previous clients, which is valuable for landing new clients. How to Find Web Design Jobs Read the full article

eCommerce Paradise Academy Review
eCommerce Paradise Academy Review (Trevor Fenner Course)
eCommerce Paradise is a course by Trevor Fenner, and it’s available for $997. Today, we’ll take a look at the content it offers and whether or not it’s the course that will take you to eCom success. I’ll provide a detailed overview of the content provided in all modules, and I’ll give you my final verdict at the end of the article. The idea is to give you an outline of what you should do if you’re thinking about to buy this course.
This is a high ticket course, and it aims to give you the knowledge necessary to build and launch an online dropshipping store you can then scale after seeing success. As you read, the course focuses around high ticket items, so there are a few considerations.
Let me list them below before you dive in.
Course overview
eCommerce Paradise is a program aiming to teach you the in’s and out’s of high ticket dropshipping. You’ll learn how you can build and scale a successful store, selling high-price items with larger profit margins. The chosen platform here is Shopify.
It focuses on USA dropshipping with local suppliers, which is a disadvantage for students outside the US. The majority of suppliers will require a reselling ID, and you need a US-based venture to get one.
The course also recommends using credit cards, which some people outside the US or Canada might have trouble with. Entrepreneurship for US individuals tends to employ approach that don’t work for foreigners.
Outside of that, the actual content inside the course is impressive; there’s access to many modules and a remarkable amount of videos. People with a substantial budget can also opt to have the course team set up their store and team for them. There are other services like conversion optimization and Google and email marketing.
Who’s the author?
Trevor Fenner is what’s known as a digital nomad, and he’s currently living in SE Asia, after moving to establish himself as an eCommerce owner. Besides his ventures, he also has a blog under the same name as the course. He uses it for documenting his experiences in life and business.
I’ve been hearing about this blog from acquaintances for a while now, so he’s definitely not a newcomer. He claims his experience spans 10 years in eCommerce.
He started out with regular low priced items, but he then scaled to high ticket after finding the larger profit margins offered. He has a bit of a motto on this: find an expensive product that people want to buy and sell it for a lot more, and that’s his approach to high ticket dropshipping.
Trevor has both bought and sold several stores, claiming to have cultivated several stores into 6 and 7 figures as he did so. He also spends time on YouTube when he’s not working on his course, blogging, or working on his ventures. He has a fairly small number of subscribers, but he still delivers interesting content.
He has a personal blog as well, and it’s more varied in terms of content. There’s your usual entrepreneurship advice, but he also shares his traveling experience as a digital nomad, and there’s even skateboarding stuff here.
As for his main income stream, right now seems to be consulting and instruction for people looking to start a course. At least that’s what his Instagram shows.
About eCommerce Paradise
eCommerce Paradise is hosted on Teachables, and it’s available for purchase for $997. Besides the course itself, there are several upsells with it, including additional coaching and done-for-you stores and strategies.
For Europe or Australia based students, there’s a possible VAT on that price around 10% or 25%, which means at least nearly $100 extra for the course. If you haven’t registered for VAT or GST where you live, it can be an even more expensive course.
Right now, the course spans 220 different videos spread on 27 modules. While 3 of those modules are introductory content, it’s still an immense course, and it’s among the largest we’ve reviewed here.
The modules themselves are varied length-wise. Some have a few videos and are fairly short, but others can last for over an hour. Still, you won’t escape your mindset videos in this course.
Important considerations
The course has a money back guarantee for 30 days, but you have to show you actually applied the concepts taught and tried to start a business. This is a course for people striving to take action, so don’t expect to go through it and expect your money back if you decided it’s not what you wanted.
However, you can still get a full refund. Just note that accessing the bonuses will forbid you from getting one, so think twice before taking a look at the reports and templates if you aren’t finding success with it.
You also need a startup capital between $500 and $1,000 to apply the lessons, so remember to add that to the course’s starting price. Conveniently, Trevor does recommend you to have a stable income to pay for any costs that might arise unexpectedly and have a safety net.
International students and eCommerce Paradise
As already stated, this course has a significant handicap for international members since the local suppliers advised here won’t work with people overseas without the proper ID’s. They need some form of proof that the dropshipper is a legitimate individual.
If you need local suppliers, and you’re based in the US; Canada, UK, Ireland, or Australia, then you can research local suppliers in your area.
If you’re an outsider, then you might run into the same difficulties other dropshippers (myself included) have met when trying to follow these types of approaches. One solution is to start an off-shore firm in Delaware, but that’s a bit out of reach for some people, to say the least; even if you can, you still have a lot to learn on the legal side of business.
Before you decide to go through with something like that, consider hiring advice from an expert on the subject, especially with tax law knowledge. If you have a local accountant, you can ask him, but he probably won’t have the necessary knowledge, so consider a professional. Understanding US taxation and how it impacts your home taxes is the main hurdle.
That’s why it’s recommended to start with low ticket dropshipping available with local suppliers in whichever country you live or with sources like AliExpress that are open to anyone.
Reviewing eCommerce Paradise Academy
Starting out
The first 3 modules are about starting out your business.
The first module goes into welcoming you to the course itself. You learn how you can access the private group, create a new email specifically for your business, and the necessary knowledge for venturing into the internet industry.
The second module is the mindset section. It offers 5 videos explaining you how to reach this mindset, and while some people don’t really like this type of content, you do learn how to set goals, plan your future, and ethics, which is entertaining at the very least.
Even if some people might find these topics boring, Trevor does show quite the interest on the topics themselves, and it’s a good sign of how genuine he is.
The 3rd and final starters module is an introduction and explanation of the dropshipping model and which products are best for you. You’ll also learn why Trevor uses Shopify, a few tools, and a bit about niche research before showing you some success stories.
Finding your niche
This is a nice module, especially because Trevor dedicates a lot of time explaining niche selection, and most dropshipping courses fall short in this section. There are 9 lessons totaling the module, and they cover the process the author uses.
It begins with a good video detailing how to research niches and categories. The next one is about how to price for a profit and finding your best target market. There’s a lesson on using generic and branded products.
You also learn about handling search volumes, finding the best trends, and understanding seasonality. He finally explains how to find suppliers who can agree to dropshipping and how you can come up with new approaches for working with your suppliers.
Market research
The 5th module is one of the most extensive modules both in the course and in general market research content. Trevor definitely intends to help you find amazing products and which niches you can target.
I can’t really cover everything here because it would be both spoiling the content and impossible to really explain everything that Trevor covers here.
You’ll learn how to research your niches, and it comes accompanied by a spreadsheet you can use for this task. There’s another video on how you can take advantage of your competitors to increase your market knowledge.
Some videos cover extracting categories, how to determine the average prices in the market, checking out which keywords are being searched the most in Google, and which categories you probably want to avoid depending on trends and seasons.
You also learn how you can revers engineer the competition to discover which suppliers they’re using for you to keep them for yourself. There’s also content on how to use MAP policies and customer reviews to filter your possible suppliers.
You’ll learn how you can use different tools for understanding your audience better and knowing the best markets you can target. After that, the module turns into more business-oriented content.
There’s content on how shipping works and some basic concepts like the different industries and competitiveness. There’s also an explanation on 2 approaches you can take to the market: business to business (B2B) or business to consumer (B2C). Each approach has different targets and methods for you to tackle the market.
There’s a final video explaining how you can understand the difficulty of different products and which ones you should avoid. You can also access bonuses here already done for you, and they include a database with suppliers for you to start right away.
Niche research
The 6th module offers 4 niche reports about different products that have brought success to Trevor himself. You have pitching machines, bathroom stuff, wine coolers, and even electric fireplaces. The videos average between 15 and 30 minutes, and they offer a lot of detail about why these niches are good.
Just keep in mind that every student is accessing the same lessons, so make sure the markets aren’t already saturated before going for one. However, the training is actually very good, and it provides a good foundation for beginners to understand the following module’s training.
Said module goes into how to research niches with 6 lessons providing advanced strategies for those who understood the previous lessons on the same topic. The first ones talk about how to find best-sellers and which upsells and cross-sells you can add to them by looking at accessories or add-ons.
You’re taught how to spot offers from your competitors, the products, and how you can find the best keywords to run some content marketing. You also see how you can find influencers and other content sources that you can use for backlinking to your offers.
Forming your business
The 8th module goes into a US perspective, and it seems this course was aimed primarily at this student base, so international students taking this course will find irrelevant a lot of the things explained in this section.
The good thing is that most countries have similar business structures regarding independent traders and limited liability firms, so not everything is lost. You learn what are the best bank accounts for businesses and how to set them up as well as acquiring your credit card (if possible).
There’s also content on how to create a PayPal for businesses and hiring an accountant, which applies to any region, and the last videos explains how you can determine whether or not you need a virtual office, usually offering telephone contact.
Shopify setup
This topic occupies the 9th and 10th modules, and it’s a huge section with more than 40 videos detailing everything. Obviously, I can’t really go into every video, unless you want to read a 10,000-word review.
But let me give you an idea of what’s included here.
It starts off with 10 videos with your basic Shopify setup content: what is Shopify, which apps you should get, how to create your pages and blog posts, menus, and which themes are better for high ticket businesses. Trevor suggests Shoptimized.
After that, it goes into rarely visited territory. You learn how you edit the template’s code, how to install Google tracking codes, using Shopify analytics, adding discounts, masking domains, staff accounts, and URL redirections. Trevor explains it all with great detail, and you can add other pixels to the tracking codes (Google’s) like Facebook, and he does explain that later.
Thats it for module 9. Module 10 extends that knowledge by telling you how to find a suitable domain name and the links. You also create an email with GSuite, and you then add your logo and phone number (but this number is for US citizens, an 1800).
This module then goes into homepage banners, demo products, collections, and a refreshment on module 9 content with a bit more detail. Trevor also added a few templates you can use for your about pages and videos.
You’re recommended supporting a charitable course to help your sales, and he goes into creating a contact, satisfaction guarantee, shipping policy and warranties page. As with the previous ones, you have downloadable templates for all of these. Just make sure to not use them as is; edit them a bit before posting them as all students also have access to them.
The last lessons on creating pages close it by telling you how you can create pages for your terms and conditions, financing, privacy policies, and branding. They’re all critical to running a high ticket business.
You also get an affiliate link from Trevor for purchasing Shoptimized with a nice discount.
The module closes with some basic SEO like how to create meta descriptions and titles as well as integrating your Google webmaster tools.
Overall, the videos offer a lot of detail and insight. Beginners will leave this section with a great-looking Shopify store, and even more advanced users have something to learn.
Onboarding suppliers
Again a 2-module section, the first module tells you how you can find suppliers and the ones you should actually go with. You learn how to reach out to them either via phone or email.  Trevor adds a script here you can follow, but again, try to edit them and give a personal touch.
Then there’s how you fill out applications with these suppliers as well as what information you need from them and how to attain it. However, many international students will find issues in this module.
The 2nd module in this section talks about onboarding your suppliers and how you can list their products on your store. Think about using third-party integrations for your stock list to avoid overselling stuff that your supplier currently doesn’t have in stock or products with changed prices.
You also learn to add product tags that integrate with the premium theme you’re using and how to have all your image sizes equal so that your theme has no issues loading. On that topic, you then learn how you compress images to optimize your page loading times; this is also good for your SEO rankings.
You have videos about how to create branding collections and targeting long tailed keywords to match your products. That lets you add supplier products sales taxes to your sales taxes. If you don’t understand why you would want to do this, US dropshipping requires you to charge the sales tax on every order shipping within a state.
Let me explain that with an example: if someone in Texas purchase a product from you, and your supplier is also in Texas, they must pay the sales tax. If one of the two is in a different state, then it’s not required. Yes, that’s US-oriented content.
Optimizing conversions
The 13th module covers how to optimize your conversion rates, and you might be used to then little detail offered in other courses, but this is an actually solid section.
It starts off by taking a look at the apps you can integrate for encouraging client interaction by showcasing reviews. Trevor also tells you how you can create gift offers. Another app helps you to recover abandoned carts, and that’s before apps including Conversion plus and smart and instant searching integrations.
The last app recommended is Lucky Orange for tracking your visitors’ behavior live through heat maps.
The section closes with how you can optimize your checkout pages, which is a neat hack not many courses mention.
Social Media Marketing
This is one of the more basic modules in this course; luckily, most people already have experience at least using these platforms. The module opens up by creating your pages on Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest.
You learn how you set up buffers to automate your posts on social media, which saves you both time and money. Another lesson is about setting up your IFTTT; it’s a syndication process used in social media to get backlinks for your website.
With another tip great for SEO, you’ll quickly notice how this is also one of the most extensive courses in terms of SEO as well. You receive an InstaZoo recommendation to automate your engagement on Instagram.
Email marketing
The email marketing module offers a video spanning 2 hours, and it explains how you can set up and start using Klaviyo. It’s an email marketing, eCommerce-focused platform you can use to automate your emails and provide your customers with promotions, abandoned cart recovery, and new products listing.
Trevor also included several email templates, so you don’t have to go ahead and trial-and-error your way to a successful email marketing approach. However, the same applies here as with all templates: edit them before you use them.
Paid ads
This is another 2-module section about, and it starts with a short lesson on the 16th module about an app you can use for dynamic retargeting. After that, Trevor hits you with 11 videos on how to set up your paid ads with Google and Bing.
It might be strange not to see a Facebook Ads lesson or similar platforms, but they’re not really effective for high ticket dropshipping. Most high ticket entrepreneurs with success will tell you that Google Ads and Shopping is the best channel to reach people actually looking to buy your products.
There’s a lesson about installing your Google Shopping feed for your venture and how to release your first advertisement for free. After that, you learn about adding different pixels for your store and how to optimize the ads.
After Google’s done, he applies the same approach to Bing. However, this is a fairly short lesson, which was fairly disappointing. It’s not bad content, but for almost $1,000, you’d expect stronger content.
Optimizing conversions (advanced)
The 18th module builds on the previous conversion optimization content, and it mostly adds to it with more apps you can integrate to your business. There are great recommendations here, and I’ll admit I didn’t even know a couple of these apps existed.
The module kicks off with an app for product reviews, and it then mentions Clearsale to help you spot frauds. The next recommendation is Klarna to help your financing (and if it’s available for your store) and Norton’s “Shopping Guarantee”, which you can integrate to aid your trust flow.
There are many other apps like Trust Guard and Clyde, for insurance and some warranty upsells. Verge’s JSON-LD and Shopper Reviews are mentioned as well, and Trevor even offers an app to protect your content so that thieves can’t steal it; this is followed by a watermark-adding app to protect your images as well.
The last videos are page optimization for your different sections, mainly your sales, collections, thank you’s and upsells.
YouTube
Luckily, Trevor isn’t like other eCommerce gurus on YouTube without a single video about the platform on their courses. While you only get 5 videos, it does provide you a good grasp on the basics like how to set up your channel and optimizing it, creating your intro, and sales videos.
As for optimizing the videos themselves, Trevor recommends TubeBuddy. The last video is how you can create unboxing and reviewing videos, but these may not work for the niche you’re using.
How would you unbox playgrounds or gym machines? Sure, the review side of the lesson would work, but perhaps a video on how to install would’ve been more appropriate since it applies to virtually all high-ticket products.
Store management
Store management takes 2 modules, 20 and 21. The first one tells you how you can create an eBay store and list your products there. However, that’s the only mention of eBay in the entire course, so this feels slightly out of place and awkward.
The 21st module is about general store management: including how to fulfill orders all the way to how to overcome frauds and debts.
There’s a nice app called Aftership he recommends, and you can integrate it with Klaviyo; it sends notifications to your customers about their shipment tracking, and it’s a great way to reduce disputes opened with the payment provider you chose.
You also learn how to create a blog on Shopify and processing your orders, including how to deal with your returns and refunds. That’s one of the main problems with high ticket dropshipping, but Trevor does provide good advice to survive these issues.
There are other videos about handling orders out of stock or customers receiving defective items in any way. The module closes with how to use follow-ups, payments stuck “on hold”, and coming up with professional quotes to offer business customers.
The module offers a lot of detail, and you’ll surely learn a lot.
Fulfilling orders
Module 22 offers just 3 videos on how to fulfill orders, but the previous module did cover a lot about this topic.
This module covers how to set up your account with a freight worker, which ensures great shipping costs. Sadly, this is US-only. Still, there are some cool lessons like how to guide your customers to the best shipping choice and how to create lading bills.
Outsource and scale
Modules 23 and 24 cover this topic. The first one goes into hiring a virtual assistant and the different platforms you can use for that. OnlineJobs.ph gets a mention, and since Filipinos are English speakers secondly, it’s among the best places to find affordable English-speaking VA’s.
On the process, you’re taught how to post your listing, interviewing your candidates, onboarding, paying, and general management.
Trevor mentions PatLive for setting up a receptionist and answering calls to offer better customer service. You then receive the details of whoever called for calling them back. You can even have the call be directed to you.
The 24th module is the overall process to scale to 7 figures.
Buying/selling stores
This section covers 2 more modules, and it explains how you can sell a store as well as preparing yourself for it, how to value your venture, and transferring the assets.
It also goes into buying a high ticket store, teaching you how to spot good and bad deals, paying deposits, what questions you should ask, and how to value others’ stores.
He recommends EmpireFlippers, a famous website marketplace, and you also have a case study of a site purchase for you to follow.
Bonuses
There are 3 bonuses in the extra module, and they encompass some coaching calls for your niche research, a session with the author to discuss advanced emailing strategies, and extra training on sales with a friend from Trevor, Ryan Garrido.
There’s a private Facebook group, and while it’s fairly small, with just 93 members, you can still find daily posts and discussions.
Is there a discount?
Yes, Trevor offers a mini course for free, and taking it gives you the best price offer for this course. There are no other offers or discount available, so don’t fall for people selling them.
Is it worth the money?
In short, yes, there’s a lot of content being offered for the price. You have dozens of courses selling for the same price and not even reaching the 50-video mark, but Trevor offers 4 times that content.
You even get plenty of bonuses, and while they’re not really worth the $15,000 claimed by the Author, they do add value.
The content inside the course is also better than other courses, besides the amount. Trevor is very knowledgeable and has a lot of experience, and that translates to most of the course.
Should you go with high ticket dropshipping?
If you’re in the US or other countries with willing suppliers, you’re on the right foot. Otherwise, you’ll have a hard time finding a supplier who will accept your offer.
Other than that, with higher profit margins comes higher risk. Imagine you sell something for $4,000 and the customer asks for a refund. That’s coming for your pocket.
If you’re starting out, it’s better to go with low ticket and look at high ticket as part of scaling your business.
Final Verdict
Is It Worth It? Final Verdict
It’s a great course, so if you have the leisure money, you can pay for a great package. It will give you the results you want if you try.
There are only 3 issues depending on the student:
Supplier-related content is mostly US-exclusive.
The price tag can be unreachable for some.
High ticket isn’t the best idea for beginners.
If you are in the US (or don’t mind researching a little on your own) and have enough leisure money, then go for it.
Also, high ticket dropshipping doesn’t have any specific processes, so a general dropshipping course does the trick. For $800 less, you can get eCom Elites, save $800 for a theme and ads, and still get enough knowledge to run any dropshipping store.
I’d recommend starting with low ticket and then using the same knowledge to scale to high ticket.
I hope you found this review useful and if you have any questions, please comment down below. I’ll be more than happy to assist you.

How to Define Your Target Market: A Guide to Audience Research
Defining your target market is one of a marketer’s most important tasks. It’s the foundation of all elements of your marketing strategy, from how you develop and name your products or services right through to the marketing channels you use to promote them.
Here’s a hint before we dig in: Your target audience is not “everyone.” Your task in defining your target group is to identify and understand your particular niche so you can dominate it.
The better you understand your target market, the more closely you’ll be able to focus your ads, so you can pay only to reach the audience most likely to convert into customers. As your depth of audience insight grows, you’ll start to see higher conversion rates and better ROI—key metrics that matter to all marketers (and marketing bosses).
In this guide, we’ll walk you through a simple process that allows you to understand who’s already interacting with your business and your competitors, then use that information to develop a clear target group as you build your brand. It’s all about narrowing your focus while expanding your reach.
Bonus: Download a free guide that reveals how to increase social media engagement with better audience research, sharper customer targeting, and Hootsuite’s easy-to-use social media software.
Target market definition
A target market is the specific group of people you want to reach with your marketing message. They are the people who are most likely to buy your products or services, and they are united by some common characteristics, like demographics and behaviors.
The more clearly you define your target group, the better you can understand how and where to reach your best prospects. You can start with broad categories like millennials or single dads, but you need to get much more detailed to achieve the best possible conversion rates.
Don’t be afraid to get highly specific. This is all about targeting your marketing efforts effectively, not stopping people from buying your product. People who are not included in your target market can still buy from you—they’re just not your top focus when it comes to crafting your marketing strategy.
You can’t target everyone, but you can sell to everyone.
Your target market should be based on audience research, not a gut feeling. You need to be willing to learn as you go, adapt on the fly, and go after the people who really want to buy from you, even if they’re not the customers you originally set out to reach.
How to conduct audience research: 7 tips
1. Compile data on your current customers
A great first step in figuring out who most wants to buy from you is to identify who is already using your products or services.
Once you understand the defining characteristics of your existing customer base, you can go after more people who fit the same mold.
Depending on how someone connects with your business, you might have only a little information about them, or a lot. Don’t add a lot of questions to your order or opt-in process just for audience research purposes. This can annoy customers and result in abandoned shopping carts.
But gather whatever information you do have about your existing customers into a database you can use to track trends and averages. Some data points you might want to consider are:
Age: You don’t need to get too specific here. It won’t likely make a difference whether your average customer is 24 or 27. But knowing which decade of life your customers are in, or their generation, can be very useful.
Location (and time zone): Where in the world do your existing customers live? In addition to understanding which geographic areas to target, this helps you figure out what hours are most important for your customer service and sales reps to be online, and when you should schedule your social ads and posts to ensure best visibility.
Language: Don’t assume your customers speak the same language you do. And don’t assume they speak the dominant language of their (or your) current physical location.
Spending power and patterns: How much money do your current customers have to spend? How do they approach purchases in your price category? Do they have specific financial concerns or preferences you need to address?
Interests: What do your customers like to do, besides using your products or services? What TV shows do they watch? What other businesses do they interact with?
Stage of life: Are your customers likely to be college students? New parents? Parents of teens? Retirees?
If you’re selling B2B products, your categories will look a little different. You might want to collect information about the size of businesses that buy from you, and information about the titles of the people who tend to make the buying decisions. Are you marketing to the CEO? The CTO? The social marketing manager? Understanding who within the company you need to speak to is a critical first step in crafting your brand voice.
2. Look to website and social media analytics
So, where do you get all of this audience research information? Social media analytics can be a great way of filling in the gaps in your customer analysis. They can also help you understand who’s interacting with your social accounts, even if those people are not yet customers.
We’ve got full guides on how to use analytics on all of the major social networks:
Facebook analytics guide
Twitter analytics guide
Pinterest analytics guide

LinkedIn Analytics guide
YouTube analytics guide
Snapchat analytics guide
We’ve also got a guide on how to use Facebook Audience Insights, which can provide some really in-depth information about your existing Facebook audience, including what other Facebook Pages they like and what kinds of devices they use.
3. Check out the competition
Now that you know who’s already interacting with your business and buying your products or services, it’s time to see who’s engaging with the competition.
Taking a look at what your competitors are up to can help you answer some key questions: Are your competitors going after the same market segments as you are? Are they reaching segments you hadn’t thought to consider? How are they positioning themselves?
We’ve compiled a step-by-step guide on how to do competitor research on social media that walks you through the best ways to use social tools to gather competitor insights.
You won’t be able to get detailed audience research about the people interacting with your competitors, but you’ll be able to get a general sense of the approach they’re taking and whether it’s allowing them to create engagement online. This analysis will help you understand which markets they’re targeting and whether their efforts appear to be effective.
4. Be clear about the value of your product or service
This comes down to the key distinction all marketers must understand between features and benefits. You can list the features of your product all day long, but no one will be convinced to buy from you unless you can explain the benefits.
Features are what your product is or does. The benefits are the results. How does your product make someone’s life easier, or better, or just more interesting?
For example, in this IKEA ad, features of the advertised furniture might be that it is small, inexpensive, and multi-purpose. But the benefit is that it can help you make a small, temporary living space feel like home.

— IKEA USA (@IKEAUSA) August 15, 2018
Notice how defining the benefits also helps you define your target audience—in this case, college students moving into a new rental home.
If you don’t already have a clear list of the benefits of your product, it’s time to start brainstorming now. As you create your benefit statements, you’ll also automatically be stating some basic information about your target demographic.
For example, if your service helps customers connect with qualified pet-sitters, you can be pretty confident that your audience will mainly be made up of pet owners (and likely ones who travel). If your product allows people to back up their mobile photos remotely, you know you’re targeting people who own mobile devices and use them to take a lot of photos.
If you’re not sure exactly how customers benefit from using your products, why not ask them? You might find that people are getting creative and using your products or services for purposes you haven’t even thought of. That might, in turn, change how you perceive your target audience for future sales. An email customer survey can turn up all kinds of great insights, as can asking a quick question on your social channels.
5. Create a target market statement
Now it’s time to boil everything you’ve discovered so far into one simple statement that defines your target audience. This is actually the first step in creating a brand positioning statement, but that’s a project for another day.
For now, let’s stick to creating a statement that clearly defines your target market.
For example, here’s Zipcar’s brand positioning statement, as cited in the classic marketing text Kellogg on Marketing. We’re interested in the first part of the statement, which defines the target market:
“To urban-dwelling, educated, techno-savvy consumers who worry about the environment that future generations will inherit, Zipcar is the car-sharing service that lets you save money and reduce your carbon footprint, making you feel you’ve made a smart, responsible choice that demonstrates your commitment to protecting the environment.”
Zipcar is not targeting all residents of a particular city. They’re not even targeting all the people in a given city who don’t own a car. They’re specifically targeting people who:
live in an urban area
have a certain degree of education
are comfortable will technology
are concerned about the environment
These are all interests and behaviors that Zipcar can specifically target using social ads. They also help to guide the company’s overall approach to its service, as evidenced by the rest of the positioning statement.
When crafting your target market statement, try to incorporate the most important demographic and behavior characteristics you’ve identified. For example:
Our target market is [gender] aged [age range], who live in [place or type of place], and like to [activity].
Don’t feel like you need to stick to these particular identifiers. Maybe gender is irrelevant for your target customer, but you have three or four key behaviors to incorporate in your statement. The key is boil all of your research down into one simple statement that can guide your marketing efforts.
If you offer multiple products or services, you might need to create a target market statement for each product, or each product category.
6. Test social ads on your target market
Now it’s time to have some fun and see how you can put your target audience research to work.
The first step is to create social ads specifically targeted to the exact market you have just defined. You might already have appropriate ad creative from a previous campaign, or from your organic social posts, but be honest about whether the material is really as precisely targeted as it should be.
Does the language speak exactly to the market you have defined in an appropriate voice? Do the visuals make sense in the context of your target market?
Going back to the Zipcar example, take a look at how the company speaks to the target market it has identified. Remember, Zipcar’s target market is “urban-dwelling, educated, techno-savvy consumers who worry about the environment.”

Can you see how Zipcar is speaking to its identified target market across its social channels?
Once you’re happy with your creative, it’s time to start using social tools to reach out to your defined target audience. First, you’ll need to decide which social channels you should use. Take a look at our demographics information for each social network to get a sense of which ones might best allow you to reach the target demographic you’ve identified.
Facebook demographics
Instagram demographics
Twitter demographics
Snapchat demographics
LinkedIn demographics
Once you’ve chosen your platforms, you can get really granular in your ad targeting. Use the characteristics you’ve defined in your target market statement to build an audience for your ad. The process will vary a little for each social network, but all offer extensive targeting options. If you’re not sure where to start, check out our guide to how the ad targeting process works on Facebook.
Track the performance of your ads to see what kind of measurable results you achieve. Once you’ve established a baseline, you can use A/B testing to learn even more about what targeting options work best, and whether you need to tweak your creative approach to speak more directly to your target audience.
7. Revisit your audience research as needed
The results of your test may provide additional insight you didn’t have when you first created your target market statement. Be sure to incorporate any lessons you learn, and revisit your target market statement regularly to make sure it still accurately describes your most valuable potential customers.
Keep in mind that your target market could change over time. For example, way back in the 1980s, Atari marketed its gaming console to kids.
Today, Atari is targeting the same people who played its games back in the 1980s—but those people are now aged 35 and up, and view the Atari brand not as a cutting-edge gaming system, but as a nostalgic part of their childhood.
(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = 'https://ift.tt/2yXZ2vG'; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));
The New Atari VCS pays homage to the original game system we all know and love. Packed full of the games you remember growing up with! Which Atari game was your favorite?

Big Challenges Ahead for Recruiting and Talent Sector
HR leaders and executive recruiters could be facing big changes in terms of how they attract and keep talent, according to a newly released Korn Ferry report. Look for artificial intelligence to play a bigger role in the hiring process, and more employees working remotely. Let’s take a closer look at the report’s findings. ======================================================================= Recommended by eCybergurus Inc. : eCybergurus is a pioneer in Recruitment Process Outsourcing ( RPO ) in india. Since the past several years, our experienced and dedicated team has been helping our clients in USA and UK save thousands of dollars annually through reduction in costs and increased productivity. We offer world class, web-based recruitment support services throughout the entire cycle including active and passive candidate generation, database management, marketing lead generation, job postings and response processing. Our services are being used by Top Executive Search firms, Fortune 1000 Companies, Specialty Recruiters, Large Recruiting firms and Solo Recruiters. ======================================================================= Across many parts of the globe, 2018 has started with a job market as robust as any in recent years. It’s been so strong that recruiters are being forced to get creative in order to fill all the position mandates coming their way. And they’re not the only ones. A new Korn Ferry report, in fact, says that HR departments may soon be facing a new world order for attracting and retaining talent. Welcome to the age of Millennial bosses, selection by artificial intelligence and candidates who will just say no to moving. The good news, says Byrne Mulrooney, CEO of the firm’s Futurestep division, is that technology will better link business strategy to talent strategy. “Technology frees up experts in our profession to do what they do best – offer sound advice to their business partners, create a warm and welcoming candidate experience, and get results,” he said. Most recruiters you talk to say all three have been lacking in recent years due to the big upswing in business. According to the Korn Ferry survey, there are 10 hiring trends that talent acquisition professionals and executive recruiters ought to be on the lookout for as the year unfolds: The Reinvention of the Human Recruiter Artificial intelligence is beginning to come into its own, especially with its ability to source candidates more quickly and efficiently. As Big Data and AI continue to proliferate, top recruitment partners will be able to streamline into one single sign-on platform virtually all aspects of recruiting, including sourcing, assessments, scheduling, creating accurate compensation models and following up with candidates for future opportunities. But that doesn’t mean the human recruiter will become obsolete, Korn Ferry experts said. With technology taking the brunt of the once-cumbersome work, recruiters will have more time to focus on creating an outstanding experience for candidates and to give impactful advice to hiring managers. “Along with speed, AI provides cognitive insight into a candidate’s ability to perform a job at a high level,” said Nachi Junankar, founder and CEO of Avrio AI, an artificial intelligence talent platform based in Boston. “This will ensure that recruiters are matching the right candidate to the right job, every time. In addition to analyzing and matching, AI will be able to increase candidate engagement, allowing recruiters to spend more time nurturing potential candidates. Overall, AI is going to allow recruiters to become more strategic and effective.” Sourcing Gets Personal Using a combination of AI and social technology tools, recruiters can now set up a “fence” around qualified candidates in a specific geography. The Korn Ferry report said, for example, that recruiters can track candidates who visit a job fair solely with location data from mobile phones. In turn, the hiring company can send the prospects specific mobile messages and ads after the event. “AI helps us dramatically enhance outcomes by finding patterns and relationships to better understand what a successful person looks in a particular position,” said Jacob Zabkowicz, Korn Ferry vice president and general manager, RPO, North America. “For example, in a search for a global automotive maker, we discovered that in one country there was a significant movement of executives from the luxury goods sector to the automotive sector – a relationship that wouldn’t have been obvious without AI.” Going Places by Staying Put Even when the offer is impressive, more candidates are opting out of relocating for a job, according to the Korn Ferry report. In response, many employers are allowing new hires to remain where they are and work remotely. Enabled by video conferencing and ubiquitous internet access, workers in IT, marketing, sales and other professions can contribute from wherever they are. The downside: a lack of face-to-face interaction could inhibit creating a cohesive company culture. Retaining New Hires Now Seen As a Critical Issue Retaining new hires is on the minds of leaders at the vast majority of companies these days which provides advisory services and recruitment services for middle to upper-level management. Ninety percent of the executives surveyed said this is an issue for their companies. According to the WorkSphere survey from Spherion, just 40 percent of workers are interested in relocating for professional reasons, and the same is true for 62 percent of Millennials. Millennial Bosses The wait is over for millions of Millennials – the eldest of whom are in their mid-30s – as many now are leaders within their organizations. That can be a good thing for many companies, said Korn Ferry, as studies have shown that Millennials show significant strength in areas like resiliency, learning agility and courage. That said, since many in this age group moved up quickly, they still have to learn how to “manage up” to colleagues who have more seniority than them. They also have to learn how to relate to their direct reports, some of whom could be as old as their parents … or grandparents. Internal Hiring on the Rise With unemployment levels low in many parts of the globe, there will be more emphasis on finding ways to train and promote existing employees, according to the Korn Ferry report. Previous training on the company’s protocols and procedures, plus an understanding of company culture, can give internal candidates an edge toward learning a new role in a new division or geography. Internal postings of job openings that require the same qualifications as external hires removes the bias of hiring internally. “There is no doubt internal candidates have an edge in tight talent markets,” said Jose Ruiz, chief executive officer of executive recruitment provider Alder Koten. “Insiders have a leg up over outsiders in that they know the culture from being on the inside, and have probably forged valuable relationships with other key stakeholders,” said Rod McDermott, co-founder and managing partner of search firm McDermott & Bull. Grads Have Options Again During the Great Recession and for several years afterward, new college graduates found it difficult to land their first professional job. But experts say the tide is turning, and companies are trying to beat their rivals to hire qualified young grads. A separate Korn Ferry survey found that nearly two-thirds of hiring managers believe the best time to recruit college students is at the beginning of their senior year. “In our experience, students who know what they want to do and are driven to pursue their career goals while still in school make the strongest employees,” said Adam Blumberg, vice president, key accounts, Futurestep. “Solid recruiting programs start early and focus on securing the most qualified talent months before they actually graduate.” Instant Interaction Gone are the days when companies could expect candidates to sit through multiple interviews with no feedback, said the Korn Ferry report. Today’s candidates want a faster process and ways to communicate via social channels such as text, WhatsApp, Twitter or even Instagram. How to Retain High Performing Employees A strong focus on employee retention strategies is vital for any company that wants to keep high-performers engaged, motivated and loyal. This means taking time to understand people and their behaviors and identifying the engagement and reward strategies that will promote their happiness and loyalty. “Employers can offer candidates a simpler way to apply to jobs by allowing job seekers to populate their application with basic information from their LinkedIn, Google+ and Facebook accounts,” said Josh Wright, chief economist at iCIMS. “Recognizing patterns of how today’s job seekers are searching and applying for jobs gives employers an edge over their competition.” Displaying a True Picture of Culture For candidates, organizational culture and quality of life are key factors in determining where and for whom they want to work, and it’s nearly impossible to get a clear impression from traditional HR materials. Candidates want to hear from real employees discussing the pros and cons of the job, said Korn Ferry. This can take the form of written testimonials, videos or even AI that simulates the person, much like a video game. This helps candidates best determine if they’ll be a good fit for the organization before they get too far along in the recruiting process, which can result in reduced turnover and costs. “Focusing on culture and how that brand is represented in the marketplace has a critical impact on attracting and retaining the talent that will drive business success,” said Neil Griffiths, Futurestep global practice leader – talent communications and employer brand. “The survey results indicate that employers need to think more broadly about what attracts top talent to their organization.” Candidates Treated as Customers Candidates want to be treated fairly and respectfully during the recruitment process. Treating them poorly could cost a company not only a potential employee but also a future customer. Another Korn Ferry study found that half of the professionals surveyed said they would be unlikely to remain a customer of a company with which they had a negative experience as a candidate. “Companies risk alienating not only strong candidates, but loyal customers if they don’t make a concerted effort to create an efficient, welcoming and informative environment during the hiring process,” said Mr. Blumberg. “This equates to significant costs, both in terms of the time and money wasted during the hiring process, as well as loss of revenue from fleeing customers.” Combatting Job Hopping A weak job market kept many employees from switching jobs, according to the Korn Ferry report. But that fear has diminished, and it’s now easy for recruiters to identify and connect with qualified job candidates. That will put more onus on employee retention efforts, said the report. Employers must give workers more development and advancement opportunities and more creative reward packages—or risk losing them. “With low unemployment rates and increased need for specialized talent, keeping new hires is a critical issue,” said Bill Gilbert, president, North America, Futurestep. “It is incumbent upon recruiters and hiring managers to paint a clear picture of what will be expected of the candidate in his or her new role, and make sure promises of resources, job structure and reporting relationships are fulfilled.” ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Source : https://huntscanlon.com/ Recommended By : eCybergurus Inc., India https://www.linkedin.com/company/ecybergurus-inc http://www.ecybergurus.com/ http://www.ecybergurus.com/candidate_sourcing.php http://www.ecybergurus.com/marketingleadgeneration.php http://www.ecybergurus.com/jobpostingreponding.php http://www.ecybergurus.com/databasemanagement.php
