Honey Senpai’s Cavity
This is a Mitsukuni x reader. This one shot takes place during the episode where he had his cavity.

Y/n smiles as she walks through the halls of Ouran Highschool, her (long/short) hair seemingly glowing as she walks the halls. She stops in front of a room where a sign above the door read “Music Room 3”.
She smiles knowing that this is the room she had been instructed to go ti by her mom. She opens the door gently and instead of the usual rose petals she was hit with a cry of pain as she steps in.
“Are you okay Honey~senpai?” Haruhi asks as she looks over at Y/n upon her arrival.
“No! I took a bite of cake and my tooth started hurting!” He cries as he holds his cheek in pain.
“Hm it appears Honey~senpai has a cavity.” Tamaki says as he leans down and inspects Honey~senpai’s tooth.
Mori leans down and looks at him as he feels his heart tense up when he remembers he didn’t remind Honey~senpai to brush his teeth.
“Um hi?” Y/n says awkwardly as she walks into the room and tries not to interrupt their conversation.
“Y/niieeee!” Honey~senpai cries as he runs towards her and hugs her tightly.
“Y/nnnn! My tooth hurts!” He cries as he clings to her.
“Yes Honey it’s called a cavity.” Y/n smiles as she hugs him back and pets his head slowly.
“What the what?! Who is that gorgeous girl and why is she coddling with Honey~senpai?!” Hikaru asks shocked as he looks at his twin.
“Maybe their close friends?” Haruhi suggests as she looks at them curiously.
“Ooo or maybe their enemies but only in privacy they can be intimate?!” Tamaki asks but everyone just ignores him and a pretend arrow strikes his left shoulder.
“Maybe their online friends?” Kaoru suggests as he holds his hand up to his chin in a thinking position.
“Ooo! Or maybe they’re best friends who secretly love each other and want to privately confess!” Tamaki says as a dramatic tear rolls down his eye but once again he was ignored which caused another arrow to strike him in his right shoulder.
“Maybe their families are partners?” Haruhi asks as she thinks.
“Maybe their lovers who can’t be together because of their families!” Tamaki shouts and that’s everyone’s last straw so they all yell.
“SHUT UP TAMAKI!” Even Honey~senpai yells but he cries and clutches his tooth as Y/n gently sits him down on the couch and hands him Usa~Chan.
A final arrow comes out and shoots Tamaki in the heart as he cries and heads to his mushroom growing corner.
“Honey you shouldn’t yell with your cavity.” Y/n says as she sits beside him on the couch when she feels a rattle shake her and the couch.
“Hmmm… seems like there is a secret going on in the Host Club.” Renge grins as she pops out of her hole in the ground sitting to her table with her tea cup full of commoners coffee.
“You’re still here?!” Hikaru asks as he looks at her scared.
“Yes you idiot. I’d never leave my dear Haruhi here with you hooligans.” She says rolling her eyes before her eyes meet Y/n’s.
“Oh my god! Honey~senpai has a lover?!” She shouts which finally pisses Kyoya off.
“Yes! I tried to hold my pateinede until they finished but I can’t take it. That is Y/n. She is Honey~senpai’s girlfriend.” Kyoya explains once he reaches his wits end.
The host clubs faces stay the same but after a few seconds their eyes all widen as they look back and forth from Kyoya to Honey and back to Kyoya.
“Really? He’s got a girlfriend?!” Hikaru and Kaoru ask in sync as they look at Honey and Y/n.
“Yes. It’s true. I know that look that they give each other. It’s the look of true love.” Tamaki gasps in shock as he comes to the realization.
“Huh. And how do you feel about this Mori? Did you know?” Haruhi asks the silent boy.
He nods as he smiles gently as if saying he’s happy for them.
“Then I guess it’s settled. We all were wrong.” Hikaru sighs as he looks down defeated.
“Except for Tamaki~San.” Y/n says as she smiles at them
“WHATTTTTT?!” The host clubs members (minus Mori and Kyoya since they both already knew) scream so loud it rattled the school.
“Yes me and Honey’s parents are enemies and we’re in a secret relationship. Though I guess not so secret since you all know. And we were best friends until we confessed privately and only Mori knew. And in private is the only way we can be intimate so that’s why I was coming to look for him. I just told my mom that I was coming to visit Kyoya.” Y/n smiles as she giggles softly at their shocked faces.
“Huh. For once the boss said something smart.” Kaoru says as the host club members agree.
“Yes thank you- what do you all mean for once?!” Tamaki shouts as he looks at them from his mushroom corner.
“It’s just that- well- nevermind Tamaki.” They sigh and get back to talking about Honey~senpai and his girlfriend.
That was the topic the host club stayed on for the entire day. It was just so shocking to them.
Y/n and Honey cuddled for the remainder of the day and answered questions for the host club. Mainly Y/n since Honeys cavity kept hurting but he smiled happy to be able to be with Y/n.

I love that my body naturally craves fruit that is in season. I have been wanting pineapple and I checked and pineapple is in season. Went to the grocery store and found a perfectly ripe pineapple for half off, $1.50 for a whole pineapple! Took it home, cut it up ,and used the rind and core to make tecpache with a Thai pepper tossed in. yum!
Last night my friend took me to a mushroom growing workshop that she got free tickets to. The person leading the workshop asked what our relationship to mushroom is on a scale of 1-10. he said he was an 8, because he knew people who were 10s. Which probably scared all of us and and most people said they were 1s or 2s. I've usually stayed away from fancy mushroom because it seems like another expensive taste I did not need to have. I've stuck more to fermenting (sourdough, sauerkraut, half sour pickles, fermented hot sauces, beer, wine, cider) so this was a fun workshop to learn more how to do it myself.
The guy leading it was very very into mushrooms but not particularly organized and kept having to backtrack to explain things. That's my nightmare of teaching and why I don't. i worry about my organizational skill not meshing with the people I'm teaching and then getting really frustrated, which never actually happens, when I'm teaching informally it goes well whether it is zines or witchcraft or plants or whatever. I just freak out when people want to pay for my disorganized thoughts. Anyway, enough about me.
We pasteurized straw and packed it into buckets with oyster mushroom inoculated grains. Now I have a bucket of fungus I'm waiting to pin and sprout and whatever. He also just brought a bucket of woodchips from his yard with king stropharia (wine cap) mushrooms and just told us to take a bag home and toss in in your garden, don't eat them for more than 2 days in a row, and when you have too many, give them away to people. The wine caps seem more my speed, we'll see how it goes.
I have so many plants I want to put outside! It's still too cold at night and I'm very annoyed about it. the tomatoes in my living room are starting to put out flowers. I think I can hold off for another week.

Interview with narrator Rebecca Ferguson
Q. What made you want to be part of this series?
I was brought up having a magical connection to nature.  When later introduced to the world of BBC wildlife programmes it brought back so much nostalgia.  Being asked to be part of this series therefore was a huge honour for me.
Q. Tell us a bit about growing up in Scandinavia.
When I was growing up, I always wanted to go exploring in the woods and become one of my favourite childhoods characters Ronja from stories by Astrid Lindgren. She was a true representation of Swedish and Scandinavian nature. I also loved to do another tradition of picking wild strawberries and threading them through strains of straw.
Q. Tell us about your personal passion for Scandinavia
It’s Raw and wild. It’s Pinecones, mushroom picking, cold, mythical mysterious.  So many tales and stories come from the world of Scandinavia.
Q. Describe any personal experiences you’ve had with wildlife in Scandinavia
It’s hard not to have connections with nature.  For me it’s about feeling connected to it and being a part of it daily.  I was brought up in Stockholm then moved to the south of Sweden to a remote fishing village, meaning I got to explore such drastic difference in environments and temperatures.
Q. Were there any standout or memorable sequences in the series for you?
Being a part of the whole story and seeing things that I would have never got the opportunity to see was such a treat. It brings me as close to it as possible.  It’s so unusual to see it all first-hand and I got to be part of it adding my narrative which was magical. As an ocean lover, I particularly enjoyed the reproductive process of the synchronised star fish and watching the sea cucumbers feed on the algae and plankton from the seabeds.
Q. Did you learn anything new about Scandinavia that you didn’t know before narrating the series?
Yes! I couldn’t believe that they are still preserving fish the same way we did in the Viking times! It was fascinating to see that process.
Q. What do you believe is so captivating about this region?
The Landscape is the main characteristic, it’s sharp and harsh and the animals have had to learn to shape to their environment.  The extreme difference between the North of Sweden with its angular landscapes to the south of Sweden with its rolling hillsides, orchards and apple trees.
Q. Do you have a favourite species from the series and why?
Yes! The White-Tailed Sea Eagle is my favourite species from the series. They are so majestic flying through the air.  Their hunting skills of catching the fish is like watching a thrilling chase scene from a movie! It’s so highly skilled and chaotic at the same time.
Q. What do you hope viewers will take away from watching Wild Scandinavia?
I hope that they it will Learn about new environments and that it opens up their eyes to the beauty of this region.  How different it is. Why it’s so different. How the people have had to adapt to the environment.  The extremes of the seasonal weather and landscapes.  I hope it makes people want to visit and to nurture and to care for our world even more.
Interview with Series Producer, Tuppence Stone
Q. What do you think Rebecca Ferguson brings to the series, as the narrator?
We were very keen to have such a strong female role model to voice Wild Scandinavia. With her roles in Mission Impossible and Dune, it is great to collaborate with such an international star. Rebecca is Anglo Swedish, so was a perfect choice – with her intimate knowledge of Scandinavia and fluent Swedish the mythology and names included in the script felt so natural when she delivered them. She added an important authenticity to the series, building on our decision to work with the brilliant Icelandic composer – Biggi Hilmars, so that our views feel totally immersed in the Scandinavia wilderness.

I've been enjoying your mushroom harvest pics on Twitter. How did you pick the species, and what advice would you have for someone considering a similar endeavor?
So i picked wine caps to start my mushroom growing because theyre super beginner friendly! They dont necessarily need a complex growing medium - straw and wood chips are perfect - and the mycelium grows aggressively and is more forgiving than others. Oyster mushrooms are similar, but only grow for a short season rather than coming back every year. Also, the flavor profile of wine caps seemed super appealing to me!
I would definitely check out North Spore - ive loved the products ive gotten from them, and they have a TON of resources. Ive used their home growing kits for lions mane and pink oysters and they were fantastic. Im gonna try inoculating the dead oak in my yard with chicken of the woods next!

He hadn’t slept all that much , he never really needed to .
All of his focus , all of his attention on the sleeping woman beside him . The woman whose soft breathing he was listening to intently as he looked away from her and back towards his books .
玉花配清心消炎 ...
Quill moving from the top of the page down to the bottom as he recorded his findings for the day .
Thankfully , her health was continuing to improve over the course of these last few weeks .
It had been at it’s lowest a few weeks ago , her breathing at night marked by hoarseness , strain , and at times ... frighteningly faint .
丝绸花瓣与绿茶混合,有助于支持身体的自然愈合 ...
The herbal remedies that he had managed to concoct , in no small part due to the branwen tribe chieftain’s unique abilities , had been working effectively to heal his mother’s damaged lungs .
It had afforded him the relief of not having to risk using other means to attempt to cure her ailments . Her immune system , was still recovering , and he needed to ensure that she was kept far from any allergens , dust , or seasonal pollens .
Her breathing was becoming stronger each night , and he hoped that it would continue to be so .
Setting down his quill to allow his notes to set properly on the page , in a few hours the sun would rise , and as per the terms of his agreement with the tribe , his work would be set to begin .
With only a few hours remaining before it was time for him to leave , he’d rise , moving to begin his daily routine of cleaning , cooking , and organizing their humble home .
All done in an effort to ensure his mother , and father were as comfortable as they could possibly be .
Sweeping came first , as he began to sweep the floors , clearing them of dust , dried leaves , and more .
Cooking would come next , as he’d make sure to prepare breakfast , lunch , and dinner for them by cooking three dishes that could be consumed throughout the day .
Tea leaves left on the table for them to make on their own later on .
Chicken Congee for breakfast , Spinach & Mushroom Lo Mein for lunch , and lastly Stuffed Cabbage Rolls that would be ready by nightfall .
Covering his work to ensure it would not be touched or fouled by insects , he’d step out the doorway . Stopping once only to look at the paper seal that was hidden underneath the front steps .
The warding charm would ensure no grimm would find them , and would keep them safe while he was away .
Tying the ribbon that would keep his straw , conical hat secured atop his head , his basket would be retrieved , fill with a colorful assortment of different flowers from across Remnant’s vast terrains . Some of which were now growing within his nearby garden .
Tipping his hat downwards , he made his way through the dark forest as dawn drew closer .
Lifting it only to show his face to the guards that secured the entrance to the bandit camp . With the great wooden doors creaking , harkening his arrival , he would soon made his way over to his tent .
His workspace where various pots , cauldrons , herbs , and more awaited him . A floral scent greeting him as he entered and began to stoke the fires of his hearth to get ready for the day .
As per the terms of his agreement , he served the bandit tribe as their doctor , treating their wounds , and creating medicines for illnesses . In exchange ? He received “ protection “ for his family , and a bit of lien as well .
Undoing the ribbon underneath his chin , his hat would be set down near the entrance , hidden behind the cloth flaps , as he gathered a few herbs together .
He’d done it once as a courtesy , but as more people came to like it ... he also found him working as their part time cook . Usually only for breakfast , or lunch , depending on how many needed his attention throughout the day . He couldn’t complain , he was getting a free meal out of it .
Moving over to the cooking area , he pulled the cloth back on some massive animal bones he had harvested from the night bore .
It was always disappointing to see them toss away good ingredients like these . Then again , not many had the patience to learn how to make bone broth like he did .
Snapping his fingers together only once , to spark a flame on the bundle of dead branched and twigs he had placed underneath the cauldron . He got to work .
Tumblr media
“ Good morning , you’re not usually up at this hour of the morning . Is there anything troubling you that you’d like me to take a look at immediately? If you’re hungry , the main course isn’t ready but I’ve brought some freshly bread from home . Please help yourself . The bone broth will be ready shortly “

A Sudden manual to Psilocybe mexicana and also mexicana sclerotia
Psilocybe mexicana is a species of psilocybin mushroom with a fascinating social background. Its initial recognized use was by the native peoples of North as well as Central over 2,000 years ago. The Aztecs utilized it as a religious rite and also called it teotlnanácatl, which is composed of the Nahuatl words teotl (" god") as well as nanácatl (" flesh"). So teotlnanácatl ways "flesh of the gods". You need to understand where it grows if you want to successfully discover Psilocybe mexicana in nature. This implies being aware of both the type of habitat and also the nations they grow in.Psilocybe mexicana grows alone or in tiny groups among moss along roadsides and routes, in damp fields or cornfields, and specifically, in the grassy locations surrounding deciduous forests. It is common at altitudes in between 300-505 meters, and uncommon in reduced elevations.
Psilocybe mexicana can look similar to other species from the genus of Psilocybe, such as Psilocybe azurescens as well as Psilocybe semlianceata (freedom caps). It's simple to inform them apart based on the nation you're in. There are various other Psilocybe species that do take place in these countries, such as Psilocybe cubensis, which, like psilocybe mexicana, additionally likes to expand in manure down payments in grasslands. Some functions that make Psilocybe cubensis distinctive, nonetheless, include a flattish cap, a strong, persistent ring (annulus), and also an earthy taste. If you intend to look for mushrooms in the wild, it's ideal to head out with a more seasoned overview, rather than relying upon just summaries or pictures. You can look online for regional mycology groups in the area to see if there are any type of mushroom pursues that you can sign up with. You need to be mindful that these groups may not have a solid rate of interest in psychedelic mushrooms like you do, so obtain a feeling initially of exactly how the group feels concerning foraging for them. You'll be able to identify Psilocybe mexicana mushrooms by recognizing their distinct features:
Cap (pileus): 0.5-3 cm in diameter, convex or conical, with margins that flare out to appear like a bell (campanulate). The caps frequently have a minor papilla (a nipple-shaped framework, which liberty caps also have). The caps are hygrophanous (they transform shade based upon the loss or absorption of water), ocherous to beige or brownish to straw shade as they age, occasionally with blueish or greenish, and they conveniently transform blue when injured. Gills (lamellae): Adnate or adnexed, gray to purple-brown with whitish sides. Stem (stipe): 4-10 centimeters slim and tall, equal, as well as hollow. It is straw color to brown or reddish-brown, ending up being darker where wounded. An annulus (the ring-like structure discovered on the stipe) is lacking. Odor and Taste: Farinaceous ("flour-like").
Tumblr media
Psilocybe mexicana remains in the team of psilocybin mushrooms (which also consist of Psilocybe tampanensis) that are recognized to generate sclerotia. These are set, dense masses of mycelium that enable the organism to survive in unfavorable conditions (nutrient depletion, dry spell, freezing, and so on). The sclerotia of these species are likewise called truffles, although this is a biological misnomer. From a mycological perspective, truffles unlike sclerotia are reproductive structures. They are below ground spore containers that spread their hereditary material through usage by pets as well as subsequent discharging right into different locations.True truffle-producing varieties are typically ectomycorrhizal, which means their presence relies on a symbiotic connection with a host tree varieties. Found close to various tree types, Psilocybe mexicana's preferred habitat is, as we have actually seen, manure-rich meadow. psilocybe mexicana produces sclerotia that can range in size from smaller than a pea to as large as an ostrich egg. They are hardly ever uniform fit. The shade of sclerotia appears to rely on growing conditions, varying range from light yellow to dark brown, as well as they may be blue in position. Because of their uneven form, dimension, and shade, it is seldom feasible to determine Psilocybe mexicana based on the look of the sclerotia (to efficiently do this, you require to check out the mushrooms themselves). sclerotia (including those of Psilocybe mexicana) are legal, although that psilocybin-containing mushrooms (including Psilocybe mexicana). Sclerotia, as a whole, include less water than mushrooms; they contain around 75 percent contrasted to around 90 percent. On a fresh weight basis, sclerotia might be more powerful than several usual psychedelic mushroom species, although this relationship switches over once both the mushrooms and sclerotia have actually been dried out. So try Sclerotia with no fears.

Growing Magic Mushrooms in uncomplicated Steps
The first thing that you require to do clearly is: obtaining your own mushbags! As soon as you've gotten your growbox, we suggest that you activate it immediately. If you require to wait, keep it at a temperature of 10 levels Celsius until you can activate it. Do not wait too long, since our stealthboxes are all fresh, and the longer you wait, the extra it can affect your harvest. Mushrooms grow from spores that are so small you can't see individual spores with the nude eye. Instead of soil, these spores rely upon substances like sawdust, grain, straw, or timber chips for sustenance. A mix of the spores as well as these nutrition sources is called spawn. All sort of different mushrooms grow in the wild, as well as you can grow most of them at home. One of the benefits of growing your very own mushroom varieties as opposed to wild-harvesting them is that you can be certain you're not selecting a poisonous mushroom.
Tumblr media
If you're growing mushrooms inside, there are a number of choices for materials you can utilize for planting. You can buy a magic mushroom grow kit currently packed with a growing medium that's inoculated with mushroom spawn. Mushroom growing kits are an excellent location to start if you're new to the process because a kit will certainly give every little thing you need. If you start without a kit, the sort of mushroom you select to grow determines the substrate you grow the mushrooms on, so it's important to research each mushroom's demands. Switch mushrooms are among the easiest kinds to grow if you require a beginning point! Prior to you activate your growkit, you wish to be too prepared as possible. Some points you require consist of: mushroom grow kit, Mushbag with 2 paperclips, Heatmat & grating, Latex gloves, Spray container, foil. You require to operate in a tidy as well as sanitary surrounding. Every possible resource of contamination can aggravate the problems inside your kit. See to it to decontaminate the area you intend to grow your mushrooms and wash your hands. Put on latex handwear covers, flex your hairs together and also do not use fuzzy garments.
When you activate your mushroom growkit for the first time, you just require to take it out of package, open up the lid, and place it inside the mushbag. Clean the cover with clean water, dry it, and keep it! You will require it once more later. Splash the within the mushbag with faucet water, but not way too much! The mushroom growkit itself should not get wet, only the inside of the bag. Allow the bag open for a few minutes to make certain some fresh air gets inside prior to you close it. To shut it, you simply fold it a couple of times and also connect the paper clips. If you intend to be 100% sure that you get a huge yield, you need to get a mushroom-heatmat. Ensure to not straight place your growkit on the heatmat, yet use a grating, so air can flow below the growkit and also it does not dry out.
Currently your kit is activated and also will certainly generate mushrooms for you! Yet you still need to take some treatment of it. Every day, you should open the bag for a few mins to let some fresh air inside. Then you spray tap water on the inside of the bag and also shut it once more. Eventually you will begin to see the very first shrooms showing up on the surface of the growkit. You will certainly marvel just how fast they turn big! At this point, you should meticulously keep track of exactly how your shrooms grow every few hours. The day has actually lastly come, as well as you can collect your shrooms! Place on some latex handwear covers as well as place the growkit on a tidy, disinfected surface area. Lay out a towel or some paper in a space where you can let the mushrooms completely dry. It should be a cozy, dry area, as well as the area needs to not be revealed to guide sunshine! This might reduce the potency of your mushrooms.

How To Grow Organic Mushroom at Home
How To Grow Organic Mushroom at Home  When we hear mushroom, we think of a naturally occurring fungus that grows on already dead trees and logs. While that\’s true, mushrooms are also grown commercially on farms. And like other food crops, mushrooms are grown in soil-less media. In this case, the mushrooms are grown on composted manure mixed with hay or straw. The practice of growing mushrooms…

I wanna make a quick post about the grass that I use and the moisture content issue I'm having with it.
The grass I'm using is cogongrass (Imperata cylindrica). It's a hell of a nightmare to deal with if you're trying to do some gardening. It's a fire hazard, even when green. When I was in high school, a guy from the area nearly burned down his and all his neighbors' houses because he thought he could keep his burn under control (and without the proper permits or assistance from the forestry commission or fire department). It got so out of control because of the cogongrass everywhere that when the forestry commission came out to contain the fire, the only thing they could do was dig out large ruts around the perimeter of the fire so it couldn't spread any farther. Side note, no one was harmed in that fire, and he was slapped with quite a hefty fine.
While cogongrass is pretty invasive down here, I've had some great success growing oyster mushrooms on it (when I can dial in the right moisture content). The main issue with the moisture content is from a couple different reasons. The biggest issue is the varying amounts of moisture already contained in the grass. I performed several moisture content tests (I'll explain this process in a moment) to determine how much moisture was in each sample, and the moisture varies greatly from one sample to the next. This makes determining the right amount of water to add very difficult.
The second issue is the size of the grass. Even after the cogongrass has dried, it can be 6-8" long. Using grass or straw that's too long makes the substrate too airy. Mushrooms "breathe" oxygen, just like us, so while providing the mycelium with enough oxygen to breathe is a great thing, too many air pockets in the substrate will force the mycelium to struggle as it tries to grow across such large spaces. I used a weedeater today to chop everything up into much smaller pieces. I was able to condense four 5-gallon buckets of unprocessed grass down to 1.5 buckets of chopped grass. That will make getting the moisture just right a hell of a lot easier.
Because of the issues I've been having with the grass, I haven't been able to collect a lot of data on how well it does for mushrooms. I don't think I'll have a very high biological efficiency using this grass, but I have a shit ton of it, and it's all free. Before I do any 100% grass subs, I'm gonna be mixing the grass with HWFP so I don't keep killing subs over incorrect moisture content.
As for the moisture content test, it's a way to tell how much water is contained within a substrate material (in this case, cogongrass). I took 100g of grass and put it into a small toaster oven. I heated the sample at 250F for around 30 minutes, took it out, and reweighed the grass.I wrote this new number down and put the sample back in the oven. I let it cook for another 30 minutes before taking it out and reweighing it. I repeat these steps until the new weight doesn't change. Subtract this new number from the original 100g, and the resulting number is the amount of water contained in the substrate material.
Here's some numbers from a moisture test I performed on a sample of grass a couple years ago:
Original weight: 100g
New weight (1): 97.3g
New weight (2): 94.7g
New weight (3): 93.1g
New weight (4): 93g
MC in sample: 7g (7%)
That's about all I got for this post. Just wanted to make a note on the current issue I'm facing right now.
Edit (08 March 2024):
Tumblr media
I did another MC test on a bucket of grass that I'm gonna be prepping for my next subs. Here's the results of the test:
Initial weight: 100g Final weight: 90g MC: 10%
I put a 100g sample of grass (pictured above) into the toaster oven at 200F for a couple hours. Periodically I would remove the sample and weigh it to see how much water was left. I didn't record those numbers however. Once the last two weighs didn't show any significant reduction in weight, I ended the test. So this particular sample of grass contains 10% moisture by weight, which means I'll need to add another 50% water (50g water per 100g grass) to bring the grass to 60% MC.
While all this looks good on paper, it's another thing to get it right. Who knows? I might even be getting the math all wrong, too. I'm keeping my fingers crossed though.

How to Pasteurize mushroom substrates
How to pasteurize mushroom substrate If you’re new to mushroom cultivation and unsure of where to start, we suggest starting with oyster mushrooms because they grow quickly. They grow well on low-nutrient substrates including straw, sugarcane bagasse, and cardboard and are among the simplest mushrooms to cultivate. This indicates that pasteurization rather than sterilization can be used to…

Tips to Grow Your Mushrooming Bag
Growing mushrooms can be a fun and rewarding experience. One popular method for growing mushrooms is to use a mushrooming bag. A mushrooming bag is a specialized container that helps cultivate mushrooms by providing the right conditions. Here are some tips on how to grow your mushrooming bag successfully: To get more information please click here "mushrooming bag"
Prepare the Substrate Before planting your mushrooms, prepare a substrate where they will grow. The substrate typically comprises compost, straw, or other organic materials. The mixture should be light and airy, allowing the mushrooms to develop correctly.
Fill the Mushrooming Bag Once you have prepared the substrate, fill the mushrooming bag with it. Ensure the substrate is evenly distributed throughout the bag, leaving enough space for the mushrooms to grow. Avoid compacting the substrate, as this can hinder the mushroom's growth.
Secure the Bag Once the substrate is filled, seal the bag tightly to prevent air from entering. You can secure the bag with twist ties, rubber bands, or tape. Make sure that the load is airtight to promote humidity and prevent contamination.
Maintain Proper Humidity Mushrooms require a certain level of humidity to thrive. You can spray water onto the substrate using a misting bottle to keep your mushrooming bag adequately humidified. Alternatively, you can place the bag in a growing chamber or container with a humidity level between 80% and 90%.
Temperature Control Mushrooms prefer a temperature range between 65°F and 85°F. To control the temperature, you can use a heating pad, heat lamp, or thermostat to maintain a consistent temperature within the bag. Ensure that the temperature is appropriate to prevent your mushrooms from growing too fast or too slow.
Proper Light Conditions Most mushrooms require indirect light to grow. Avoid exposing the bag to direct light, as it can damage the mushrooms. Instead, please place it in a location where it receives indirect sunlight or artificial lighting.
Patience and Regular Monitoring Growing mushrooms takes time and patience. Be patient and allow the mushrooms to grow at their own pace. Regularly check on the substrate, ensuring it remains moist and provides the necessary nutrients for your mushrooms. Additionally, be on the lookout for any signs of contamination or pests.
Harvesting and Propagation Once your mushrooms are ready for harvest, carefully remove them from the bag. You can harvest the entire mushroom cluster or separate the individual mushrooms. After harvesting, you can propagate the mushrooms' spores to propagate more mushrooms.

Tumblr media
I have today received a letter from a certain Gasparus Tagliacozzi in Bononia, offering his services as medicus. He asks for nothing more than my consent to sew my own arm onto the center of my face.
This magister has developed a method for re-creating lost noses, and the acid tongue of gossip must have whispered in his ear that my entire nose had been taken off, not just one ugly chunk. The good medicus truly longs with all his heart to subject me to his treatment, naming me the most illustrious nose-less man of our time. In his letter he describes his method conscientiously and even enclosed an illustration of the procedure.
Two slim straws made of lead are inserted where the nose once was. Then an incision is made in the flesh of the upper arm, a flap of flesh lifted and the arm hoisted up and held in place as the loose flap of meat is sewn onto the face, while still connected to the arm. Soon a lump of flesh grows over the arm and face alike. The arm must remain hoisted in its mount until this protrusion is firmly attached around the nose straws and a nose made of arm has been fashioned. Then the arm can be cut free.
The honored magister—the honored Bononian flesh tailor—omits in his letter any mention of the procedure's duration, how long one's arm must remain mounted to one's face and grafted onto it. I am uncertain whether to be amused or insulted that he thinks I have the time to lie prostrate with my upper arm attached to my face and my forearm occupying my field of vision. In my response I inquired whether he might also weld two small whistles in the breathing apparatus so that a melody would sound each time I inhaled. Then everyone might have advance warning: here comes Tyge with his arm-nose. Of Pythagoras's thighs it is said that one was made of gold and that he showed it off at the games in Olympia. I suppose that among the general public Pythagoras is better known for his golden leg than for his mathematical discoveries.
So why would I want a snout made from worthless arm flesh? (pp. 20-21)

My most beloved brother,
The Moon shines bluish, clear through the flimsy cloud cover. She makes the seas rise, the blood flow, the black bile collect. She trawls man in her wake, sinking a line and a hook through each of us. She whirls up blubber, to cloud the brain and trickle from the sex, as she laces close the saggy wombs.
She everts the fetuses of animals and women and shines without feeling upon her true children, the deformed. The six-legged lambs, the hermaphrodites, the cyclopes, all the drooling idiots bred in sin under her glow.
Stjerneborg's towers look like mushrooms in the moonshine, a coven surrounded by fields of blue, encircled by a raging black sea. The towers stand rigid amid all that breathes, heaves, and foams.
Understanding her nature renders her gaze no less cold. No softness or thaw is intimated on her part. She is beautiful like a cleaved thighbone. She is beautiful like a fang glinting beneath rabid foam. She shines upon everything and all of us; sees all of us and everything withering.
Drops of milk rise through tumid glands, swell between nipple and tip of tongue. Pubic bone grinds against sweaty pubic bone. Always the damned crotches opening, swallowing slime and coughing up blood. Always the chaste Moon peers down at the slurping, spluttering earthly crotches. A crab shell emerging in the sand as the spume recedes. A skull, once the skin has peeled away.
The branches of the rosebush are weighed down, nodding. The rose hips sheen darkly, matte blue, filled with life under the Moon, brimming, near-bursting. She coaxes our madness but shines with scorn on all that widens, swells, and drips. A great evil eye up into which I have gazed my entire life.
Everything under the Moon is in uproar, is undone. She distills us, sorts the soul from the bloody shreds, from the crotches' sediment, from the body's devilry. Eye against eye, pubic bone thrust against pubic bone. An eternal now, not frozen in being but in beginning and end. With its teeth sunk in and its member pounded into flesh, smashing and spluttering. Entangled and self-devouring, merely mirrored in the pale eye above. Never seen. (pp. 41-42)

All of it my sight traversed to find the depths of heaven. (p. 43)

How to Grow Edible Mushroom: A Beginner's Guide
Introduction
Mushroom cultivation is a fascinating and rewarding hobby that allows you to grow your own delicious and nutritious edible mushrooms right at home. Whether you're an experienced gardener or a complete novice, this step-by-step guide will teach you the basics of cultivating edible mushrooms and help you embark on this exciting journey.
1. Choosing the Right Mushroom Species
The first step in growing edible mushrooms is selecting the right species for your cultivation project. Some popular choices for beginners include oyster mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, and white button mushrooms. Research the specific growing requirements of each species to make an informed decision.
2. Gathering Necessary Supplies
Before you start, gather all the essential supplies required for mushroom cultivation. These may include mushroom spores or spawn, a growth medium (such as sawdust, straw, or compost), plastic bags or containers, a spray bottle, and a clean, sterile environment for work.
3. Creating the Mushroom Growing Environment
Mushrooms thrive in specific environmental conditions. They require a dark and humid environment with proper air circulation. You can set up a growing area in a spare room, basement, or even a closet. Control the temperature and humidity levels to ensure optimal growth.
4. Preparing the Growth Medium
The growth medium serves as the substrate for mushrooms to grow. Depending on the mushroom species, you can use materials like sawdust, straw, or compost. Properly sterilize or pasteurize the medium to eliminate any competing microorganisms.
5. Inoculating the Growth Medium
Inoculation is the process of introducing mushroom spores or spawn into the growth medium. Carefully sprinkle the spores or add spawn to the medium, distributing them evenly to encourage uniform growth.
6. Incubation Period
After inoculation, the growth medium needs time to colonize with mycelium—the vegetative part of the fungus. Keep the medium in a dark and warm environment during this incubation period. Depending on the mushroom species, this stage may take several weeks.
7. Caring for Growing Mushrooms
Once the mycelium has colonized the growth medium, small mushroom pins will start to appear. Maintain the humidity levels and proper ventilation during this stage. Avoid overwatering, as it may lead to contamination.
8. Identifying and Addressing Common Issues
During the cultivation process, you may encounter challenges such as contamination, pests, or stalling growth. Identifying these issues early on and taking prompt corrective action can save your mushroom crop.
9. Harvesting Mushrooms
As the mushroom caps expand and separate from the stems, they become ready for harvest. Gently twist and pull the mature mushrooms to harvest them. Leave the smaller ones to continue growing.
10. Storing and Preserving Mushrooms
After harvesting, store the mushrooms in a paper bag or breathable container. Avoid using plastic bags, as they can cause moisture buildup and spoil the mushrooms. Refrigerate the mushrooms to extend their shelf life.
11. Recipes and Culinary Uses
Explore the endless culinary possibilities of your freshly harvested mushrooms. Sauté them, add them to soups, stews, or sauces, or use them as a tasty pizza topping. The earthy and savory flavor of mushrooms complements various dishes.
12. Exploring Advanced Cultivation Techniques
Once you've mastered the basics, you can delve into more advanced mushroom cultivation techniques. These include outdoor mushroom beds, log cultivation, and mushroom cultures.
13. Health Benefits of Edible Mushrooms
Edible mushrooms are not only delicious but also offer various health benefits. They are rich in essential nutrients, antioxidants, and bioactive compounds that support immune function and overall well-being.
