@ms1940mccall Instagram-posted her creation from pattern D30-5156, the 1933 Katharine Hepburn Dress & Jacket, photo credit: https://www.instagram.com/dashiee/ (pattern below). She posted her resurrection of this ensemble she originally created in 2011 (for which she was a winner in the first EvaDress Patterns Challenge!) along with posts of a recent additional make from the same pattern and was chosen in the drawing and received the $25 gift certificate to EvaDress.com for the month of August. Be sure to post your makes from EvaDress Patterns on Instagram and/or FaceBook by tagging (#EvaDressPatterns) and you will be automatically entered for a chance at a monthly drawing for $25 off at EvaDressPatterns.com! There is no limit to the number of posts you make each month (gives more chances to win the drawing!). #EvaDressPatterns #1930sstyle #1930sdress #$25GiftCertificatetoEvaDress.com #VintagePatterns #Frock #ButterickPatterns #HowardGreer #KatharineHepburn #ChristopherStrong #ButterickStarredPatterns #VintageButterickPatterns #1933 #bias #kimonojacket https://www.instagram.com/p/CihAdImOFiL/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

It's hard to play favorites among the Hollywood studios because I love them all, but there is a special place in my heart for Paramount. It's where #EdithHead (and #TravisBanton and #HowardGreer) once ruled the #costumedesign universe. In fact, you can see the door to the old costume design department to the right of the gate in this pic. I think my #vintage dress and purse would have been Edith approved. 🙂 #oldhollywood #classichollywood #style (at Paramount Studios) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bz5gIKPnEdh/?igshid=1ayqnie79x5v7

#OnThisDay in 1896, #HowardGreer was born in Rushville, IL. After training as a designer at Lucille in Chicago, he fought in France in World War I and stayed there afterward to begin the costume design career that would eventually lead him to Hollywood. Greer started his own custom fashion design business in 1927 and for decades outfitted the rich and famous on- and offscreen. This rayon evening dress (c. 1940) closely resembles the one he created for Irene Dunne to wear in “My Favorite Wife.” See it in "Silver Screen to Mainstream: American Fashion in the 1930s and '40s." chicagohistory.org/silverscreen #SilverScreenChi #LinkInProfile #CHMCostumeCouncil http://bit.ly/2UD8OAY

1940's MY FAVORITE WIFE was so beautiful and such fun to see with an audience. Laughed all the way through. Also loved cinematography of #Rudolphmaté and of course the #costumedesign of #HowardGreer. The wardrobes for both #IreneDunne and #GailPatrick are extraordinary. Intro by @macantone and Jennifer Grant. #TCMFF (at Egyptian Theatre) https://www.instagram.com/p/BwLrAoNA-0E/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1ncwn4d4ccrtp
