It’s the finale y’all! I’m very nervous but also excited. This season was so short and I’m realizing how rushed everything seemed this season. I feel like there’s a lot of loose ends so I guess we’ll see if they all get tied up.

Well that was a whirlwind of emotions. I know the Rina fans are absolutely freaking out. Honestly I said there were a lot of loose ends that needed to be tied up and they barely tied any. I’m left with more questions now than when I started the episode. I did really like seeing big red, miss Jenn, and Nini again and I think they gave Nini some good closure in the show. Also can I just say how great but also random it is that Rig Red is the first character to label his sexuality in the show. Like I don’t know with Carlos and seb if they had to hover around them being gay, especially with that conversation in season 2, or if it was a choice to do it like that. And then with Ashlyn she didn’t label herself this season either (not that she needs to). So big red just saying that he’s bi totally caught me off guard. I legit screamed. I’m so here for it. And then on a more depressing note, I feel so bad for EJ. He started this season hopeful to have a good summer and then it just kept going downhill and it didn’t even have a light at the end of the tunnel. He’s been done so dirty by the show this season. And honestly looking at what is planned for next season I’m so confused as to how everything is going to work that I just can’t fathom what will happen.

Oh no. Is Ricky going to purposely ruin Portwell?!?! Omfg

I have very mixed feelings about this season so far. There’s a lot of really good moments but also quite a few things that annoy me. Parts of the story this season feel forced for the sole purpose of adding drama and not necessarily in a good way. I do like the idea of Ashlyn exploring her sexuality but they completely ignored everything between her and big red. Personally I think if anyone got an arc exploring their sexuality it should have been Ricky. I’m also getting mixed signals over what they’re doing with portwell. They made up in the beginning of the episode and then there was more tension and then Gina did this nice romantic thing but then they couldn’t have dates to prom?! The mood of that scene was very disappointing and it felt unnecessary to me. Maybe that’s just bc I’m rooting for portwell but idk. And then that last scene with Ricky made it seem like he’s going to try to break portwell apart? I feel like if he does that it will end up backfiring eventually. Idk I see the two outcomes of this season either rina becomes cannon (and I will break something in anger) or after all their drama we get a big “I love you scene” (like Ricky’s in season 1) with EJ and Gina and they stay together. I’m hoping for the latter lol

I'm 5 minutes in and I had to pause the episode because I know I did not just hear Ricky say "I haven't read the full script yet"...bro, your character is in like 90% of the show...how have you not read the full script??? I am stressed™ for EJ rn.

UNLESS. The unexpected ending that the cast teased is a reveal that what we've been watching is the documentary, that the entire time we've been seeing the kids putting on a show in their dramatic reality tv roles, and most of it has actually not been *real* (although obviously big parts of it were real). It would make sense because I haven't believe for one second Channing only creeped around to secretly film Ricky and Carlos talking about Gina...he's probably been creeping around the entire time (and a lot of the shots of the most dramatic conversations have been from kinda weird angles. ex: the coat closet convos in the prom ep), and the kids are probably aware, so they can't break character until after the musical. It would explain literally every weird thing about this season that has not made sense and why everyone is so out of character. It would definitely not be the ending I was expecting. Especially if they also reveal what was faked for the cameras, like if they said EJ and Gina didn't actually break up for real. That could create some insane real drama if EJ has been under the impression the entire time that Ricky is only pretending to have feelings for Gina. If this is the ending, I am 100% here for it. If this is not the ending, it's still the ending in my heart.

The first time the wildcats partied with real alcohol maddox was so smug like she can hold her liquor. 2 shots of tequila and she was down. She never drink again after that.

She can Make a fantastic drink, not take it. She also should have guessed that Jet would spike the punch.

And really, she meant the cheap ass liquor that normal teenagers can get ahold of, not this fancy stuff provided by the resident trust fund kids, Ash, EJ, and Carlos.

She is the go mixologist tho, she learned from Val, back when EJ, Val and her would hang out in the managers office at camp. There's a loose floorboard that they stash a bottle under.

They think they're slick, they're not, Dewey Knows. But also they contain the campers without complaint, and haven't shown up hungover yet, so he's chill with it.

Rewatching Episode 1.01 of HSMTMTS

Me and @organic-guacamole are gonna be rewatching HSMTMTS. I'm a big fan of this series so it's gonna be fun rewatching this series knowing what happens in the future.

ricky being able to deal with a "hey" text is unbelievable. whenever i get a "hey" text i start questioning my worth and what i did wrong to not deserve a "hi!" or something like that-

Nini's hair is so different. it's a lot shorter, it's a light brown color too

"And that's why we work" proceeds to break up with her 3 minutes later... this is why we ship ricky x therapy forever instead of rini

Nini's room is literally my dream room. it's so pretty- the room lights, the pink curtains, the hanging chair.... i'm jealous

olivia's riff on "guess i'm saying i don't not looooove you" is seriously beautiful

EJ actually isn't being completely stupid about going to auditions in costume. It actually does make a difference. It can represent confidence and help the director picture you playing that character. For those who are about to do an audition: maybe don't go FULLY in costume but wear something similar to what the character would wear.

ej seeing ricky do the phone flashlight thing and doing the same is much more cringey than i remembered

awww big red being a supportive best friend to see ricky's audition (even though he advised against it)

ricky attempting to act is the most relatable thing about this show

in ricky's defense, the greatest showman can be pretty unrealistic

OKAY theatre directors learn from miss jenn and post the cast list immediately (looking at my theatre director who waits three weeks)

I will forever laugh at HSMTMTS cursing once the whole series 🤡
