Ok but deadass Si-ho could make Hwal do literally anything and with no hesitation he'll do it. And I don't think people talk about how funny that can be like Si-ho could ask him to buy a pack of ginseng jellies from the store and he'll come back with a Costco's worth of it I'm-

I finally found you, the one who killed my family. I need to take my revenge. I don’t want to search for you anymore. I don’t want to wait for you any longer. So wake up. Don’t you dare die.

I find it so funny that most of the characters in Bulgasal are trying to convince themselves and others that Min Sang Woon is an evil murderous monster and she's just like

Bulgasal theory; Red eyes is rage or when feeling threatened
Yellow/gold eyes is when they are in a deep sorrow or grief.
We see Hwal with gold eyes for the first time at the end with Sangwoon

Bulgasal sitcom au:
everyone lives nothing hurts
They all just live in the house together and live that sitcom life
Everyone trying to help Si-ho raise her daughter
Do-yoon going back to school, and has a different person pick him up every day, each looking wildly different and from each other, from cop to nice big sister to probably a serial killer - it startd rumors
Do-yoon inviting classmates over for a group project unexpectedly and everyone scrambling to hide the blood in the freezer
Hwal and Ok Eul-tae sharing joint custody of Do-yoon. Eul-tae picks him up on the weekends and always brings expensive cars and acts like the jealous ex trying to flaunt their wealth to say “you could have had all this”
Do-yoon doesn’t let Eul-tae pick him up from school anymore. The one time he tried he nearly started a mob of fangirls who thought he was a k-pop star (Eul-tae was actually a k-pop star in a past life but he’s not gonna explain that to Do-yoon)
Ho-yeol starts a private monster hunting buisness, and Do-yoon and Si-ho try to turn it into a youtube sensation. Key word: try. (They end up memes instead)
Ho-yeol acts like Si-ho’s dad, encouraging her to keep seeking her dreams and tryinf to support her. He also spoils her daughter rotten.
Hye-suk brags about her “son” to the local mom’s in the shops, and they demand to meet him, she then makes Hwal pretend to have done all the things she bragged about, including: graduate with top marks, run a successful buisness, be married with three children, fought litteral monsters…a doctor, a lawyer, a k-pop star… (Hwal is half certain she’s making half of then up but he tries anyways)
Hye-suk teaches Si-ho to work in a butchershop, but Si-ho is terrible at it (she’s a little to vicious with the meat) and Hye-suk and her assistant stumble around telling her for days until they figure out they can just put her on the register
Min Sang-woon tries to get Hwal to socialize more by signing them up for couples nights with the local community. Hawl ends up scaring everyone away
Min Sang-woon sets up a “supernatural shop” on etsy where she sells things she made inspired by their adventures
Sang-woon and Si-ho invite Hye-suk to girls night and leave the boys scrambling to put together a boys night
Min sang-woon and hwal continue their will they won’t they, but the whole town thinks their dating. When Do-yoon lets slip they arent, he and Si-ho are dragged by their friends into match-making for a big romantic festival (thry break the festival. The town didn’t even realize you could break a festival)
A popular theory in the town is thst everyone who lives in Hwal’s house is a supernatural creature. But no one says anything about it because they’re so nice. They’re basically seen as the adam’s family of Korea.

Bulgasal should have been told from Sangwoon's POV
I think the show suffers from being written from Hwal’s POV. Episode 1 shows me that Hwal’s choice to prioritise ending the curse over taking care of his family made everyone he loved as well as himself miserable. Because of this, their deaths was all the more painful to Hwal, but instead of learning his lesson and focusing on making the happiness of the people he loved a priority, he continued to isolate himself and hyper-focus on the curse. It just makes sense for the story to go in the direction of Hwal finally growing to realise that neglecting his loved ones and his own happiness is what fuels the curse and keeps the cycle of violence going. Therefore, when he meets the reincarnations of his wife and son 600 years later, you expect the story to be about him learning to, for once, let go of his obsession with the curse and bulgasal and allow himself to love and be loved, thus putting an end to the cycle of violence and finding peace in his family.
Instead, the story side-lines Doyoon and Siho and focuses on the relationship between Hwal, Sangwoon and Eul Tae. Except that the root of this relationship dates back to 1000 years ago, a time period we, the viewers, know next to nothing about. It’s like the show expects us to feel more attached to the bonds these three had back then, even though we’ve never seen what those looked like, as opposed to the bonds Hwal made 600 years ago which we’ve seen unfold before our very eyes. I don’t care that Hwal and Sangwoon were maybe in love 1000 years ago because neither current Hwal nor current Sangwoon have any memory of this, and I personally have never seen their past lives in love either. From my POV as a viewer, these two’s relationship in present-days starts with Sangwoon stabbing Hwal and stealing his soul. If the writers wanted me to feel involved with Hwal and Sangwoon’s relationship from 1000 years ago, then they should have introduced me to the show through that.
Or better yet, the show should have started with episode 2 and been told entirely through Sangwoon’s POV: Sangwoon is living a normal life when one day, her twin sister forces her to run away. She discovers the existence of monsters and learns that they are out to get her. Despite her twin’s warning, she decides to go back home and it leads to the death of her mother and twin sister at the hands of a bigger, badder monster that the ones she had just learned about. The series follows her journey to learning the truth about said monster and getting her revenge for the death of her family. Finding out the truth about bulgasal and his ties to her becomes the central pillar of the narrative. In this scenario, we, the viewers, don’t care about Doyoon and Siho’s relationship to Hwal because we know nothing about it, so it doesn’t feel jarring when they are side-lined in favour of the relationship between Sangwoon, Hwal and Eul Tae.
Tldr; if the show wanted to focus on the relationship between the three bulgasal, Hwal, Eul Tae and Sangwoon, it should have told the story from Sangwoon’s POV only. The story being told through Hwal’s POV only makes sense if it focuses on his journey of atonement in regards to his family.

Scenes that just hit me in Bulgasal
Hwal's birth father being reincarnated and again drowning himself in alcohol to deal with loss of losing his wife and treating his son badly over it AND Hwal shouting and calling out his father over this - catharsis.
Im siho telling him "Why are you calling yourself a monster?" and Hwal being shocked by it because that was not what her past life self taught.
Hwal telling Sangwoon he believes her more than she thinks.
Hwal telling this to do hyun "He chose to help. He can't use it to get what he wants"
Ok Eul Tae telling Detective Kwon "I can kill anyone but not him" showing that he is still that little boy who wants to be loved and accepted by his father
Hwal patting Do Hyun's head and telling him it isnt his fault being throwback to past life A chan thinking father doesn't love him and is upset with him because the fault lays with him because of my eyes.
The metaphor of Hwal being born out of dead mother - his life will be long but empty - almost like being alive but dead.
Do hyun saying he wants to go camping and fishing with all of them. Let's go found family.
How they don't forget the people they met in this life - Detective kwon with his younger sister, do yun with his elder brother, sang woon and siho with each other
The parallel of sang woon saying "I am sorry for my past actions. I am sorry and Hwal saying "I am sorry for loathing and hating you for past 600 years"
Hwal finally smiling after looking at his wife and kid, his father being happy, laughing and playing. Only to later discover he was the one who cursed them 1000 years ago as Bulgasal - the goosebumps THAT reveal gave me.
"No one ever said I am good hearted" - Hwal breaking my heart with one sentence.
The journey of 600 years - from shaman lady telling Hwal has to die to her being born as Aunt Lee and telling Hwal that he is her only family and cannot and shouldn't die - least of all for sang woon, out of concern.
Siho, from telling her sister its your fault for the death of their family to knowing what it feels like to belive its one fault that got our family killed. And sang woon not comforting her with any words cause she knows nothing she says will make her change the way she thinks, for now at least.
"I'll protect you" Sang woon when she found Hwal about to harm himself after he asked them to leave. ALSO her NOT leaving Hwal this time - no matter what as opposed to the last time she left a 1000 years ago.
Sang woon saying she will Half of herself if something happens to him and Hwal saying he would loose all of himself because he has lived his life only for her - be it the 600 years he knows of or the 400 years he doesn't remember.
Ok Eul Tae saying "If not for you, Hwal could have been mine" as his last words.
Bulgasal Sangwoon's 600 years "I despise you. I truly despise you" being a reflection of what Bulgasal Hwal told her 1000 years ago before his death and he didn't even know until his last breath.
Hwal breaking his promise of not drinking human blood he made to his father in past life only after his father's reincarnation told him to drink his blood to survive.
Gay coding done to Eul tae- besides his last words, the wound created by Hwal bulgasal not healing in spite of killing multiple reincarnations of Sang woon because only one who can heal it is Hwal and thus stays unrequited love. And the hope seen in Eul-tae's eyes when he think Hwal finally understood him.
