I’m not a hybristophile nor do I actually feel like I would be in future. I just agree with the perpetrator’s inner sentiments and worldviews. I just see the criminal act as activism for that feeling; to suffice for the complexities of society. I don’t see them as cool or actors of conspiracy, and that’s probably why I’m so selective, I truly don’t care about edgy bullshit, or stupid and lame tcc jokes. Just here because I’m a fucking realist.

Hybristophillia

I was scrolling through my tik tok page when I came across a stitch video. The video was a business showing their shirt that says " choke me like Bundy and eat me like Dahmer". The video was stitched by someone bringing up the fact that these serial killer murdered people and destroyed families. This isn't the first time, I've seen this happened not just tik tok but other social media like Twitter and tumblr. Tumblr is probably the main one. These people who romanticised serial killer knows about horrific things they done. They don't have empathy rather they don't have empathy for the right person.

Hybristophillia is when you are attracted to dangerous people like serial killers. Serial killers or any criminal who did heinous crimes are seen as monsters while for people who have hybristophillia see them as misunderstood. Yes, there are people out there who have serial killers and their childhood put two and two together that their actions do stem from their rough childhood but they still chose to kill innocent people. Meanwhile the ones who have hybristophillia believe because the lack of love they got became what they are. Thinking that if give them the love and appreciation than maybe they wouldn't end killing people or would feel remorseful and start their own redemption arc. Hybristophillia mainly appears through heterosexual woman which is ironic because they tend to be the main victims.

There are two types of hybristophillia. The first one being passive or as I like to call the 'I can fix him' type. They are attracted to criminal and will also date him but they won't participate in the crimes. They believe that their love will make him stop and will also excuse his behaviour by bringing up his life but also saying he would never harm them. The other being is Agressive or "I can make him worse" where they actively partipate in their lover's criminal acts. This being luring victims, help hide the bodies and even participate directly in the crimes themselves. Serial killers like Myra Hindley and Karla Homolka actually fit into this category.

Just like how their criminal counterparts, hybristophillia is a cause that can stem from childhood. Study shows that women who have history of abuse in their childhood tend to seek out male partners as similar to their own abusive parents. So, let's say that the father was abusive to the mother and she didn't leave him. Because he's the only father figure she knows and believes that abuse is form of showing his love to you. So they find men who have a criminal and aggressive profile. I also do think that any women who has hybristophillia believes that what a bad boy is because he actually committed a crime not try to look like a bad boy. They would go and visit them during the trial, they would sent letters to serial killers. Hoping that the serial killer might respond back. Hoping that one day, they could be the lucky girl. He choose to marry despite being sentenced to life or on a death row.

Telling someone with hybristophillia what that romanticising serial killers is wrong and the things they done isn't going anywhere. Especially when TV shows like American Horror Story keeps doing the exact same thing. I think we should just ignore them and continued telling the stories of the victims because I feel like we lost that in the true crime community. We forgot why true crime is talked about by keeping victim's story alive and if the families don't want than we should respect that.

Part two of Guardian Angel! Lucifer x Human! Alastor au post

...and then they go the same route Lucifer and Lilith went in the original universe. Except Lucifer and Alastor were just evil.

They didn't immediately fall in love. Lucifer hasn't even revealed himself to Alastor for the first few weeks he's been watching over the human. Lucifer and all the Guardian Angels have been ordered to eradicate whatever is causing these human disappearances, which means, kill Alastor.

But Lucifer likes Alastor.

After a few weeks Lucifer reveals himself and meets Alastor. Despite being fascinated in Alastor being a serial killer, Lucifer tries to find ways to redeem Alastor. Alastor at first was startled that there was a Guardian Angel watching over him, then he started to view Lucifer as an annoying pest that follows him around saying "Please stop killing people PLEEEAAASSE". Alastor later catches on that Lucifer enjoys watching him kill people. This only encourages him to do it even more...

Then they started to bond. Over music, might I add. Lucifer falls for Alastor first, obviously. Eventually, Lucifer gives up on trying to redeem Alastor after realizing that he does enjoy watching Alastor do his work. And he doesn't want the world to go back to the way it was before he found Alastor. He actually helps him cover everything up when Alastor does kill anyone. Lucifer even helps him by guiding Alastor away from humans that have a Guardian Angel currently watching over them. He even distracts Guardian Angels occasionally to allow Alastor to kill a human that is being guarded.

After half a year, Alastor falls for Lucifer. They both confess to each other and Lucifer decides to give Alastor the Fruit of Knowledge.

Now everyone has free will... and even more evil has found it's way to earth.

Eventually, a Guardian Angel catches on and rats them out. Both Lucifer and Alastor both get sent down to the pit they created and become the Kings of Hell.

Ba da bing and bada boom, there you have it.

In which your first session with the sadist derails an a way you never expected. As it turns out, the jailbirds are missing more than just their freedom.

Chapter 2: Ojiro Mashirao- Convicted on 1 count of 1st degree murder following a confession refusal; currently serving 20 years with no chance of parole. Time incarcerated: 2 years, 9 months.

You survived your first day. What more could go wrong? A lot, apparently. After the surprisingly saucey session (ooh alliteration) with Shoji, you can confidently say you're better prepared for the type of inmates you're dealing with. Or so you thought...

Chapter 3: Tokoyami Fumikage- Convicted for the attempted murder of his best friend, claiming "the shadows told him to do it"; currently serving 15 years with a chance of parole after 5 years. Time incarcerated: 4 years, 8 months.

Your new deal is firmly in place, and you're prepared to do what you agreed to. You just didn't expect your end of the deal to be enforced again so soon. It's all in the name of helping... Right?

Chapter 4: Koji Koda- Convicted of arson, assault, and non-peaceful protesting of multiple animal testing facilities; currently serving 40 years with a chance of parole for $15,000 bond. Time incarcerated: 3 years, 7 months.

Animal rights activists can't be too scary... can they? You're a little less than a month into your new job, and it's going relatively smooth. The deal is going as planned, and you seem to be making progress. Turns out this activist isn't scary after all... He's downright terrifying.

Chapter 5 : Rikidou Sato- Convicted for drug trafficking and the assault of 5 police officers; currently serving 90 years with a chance of parole after 40 years. Time incarcerated: 1 month, 3 weeks, 2 days.

Marking the last day of your first month is your final first session. After today, you can confidently say that you know what to expect with your assigned inmates. That doesn't mean what you're to expect will be easy. Withdrawal really brings out the worst in people, doesn't it?

Epilogue 1: Every action has consequences... Unfortunately, Y/n engaged in the same action with 5 different people. So, which one is the reason for this consequence?

🍄 Mushroom: What is a quote you find comfort in?

"I guess I just like liking things." - Abed Nadir, Community.

For nearly my entire life I’ve felt embarrassed about the things I like. Whether it’s music or movies or books or academia. I’d talk about my favorite movies or books and my mom would say “Yeah, I stopped listening awhile back”. When I was an undergraduate I studied forensic psychology and hybristophillia. When I was, excitedly, talking about my honors thesis and research someone told me “But you seem so sweet.” But. But. But. Another time I was on a first (and only) date with a guy and we were talking about theater. I said “Wouldn’t it be cool if you could donate your skull to theater like you can your body to research? Hamlet could use your skull!” He responded “You’re a strange child.” He was 25 and I was 21, so double oof on that comment.

It always made me feel ashamed of what I thought was cool. Ashamed of the things that really brought me joy or excited me, even if the themes were maybe a little dark at times. So eventually I shut up. I didn’t tell people about my favorite music, or the fanfiction I was writing, or the newest coolest tv show I’d started watching and wanted to gush about.

So I’m trying to channel my inner Abed a bit more. It’s okay to like things. It’s okay to enjoy things others don’t. Don’t let others make you feel bad about liking things.

🌳 Tree: What is one thing in your future you are looking forward towards?

Getting healthy. I have some mental health issues that went undiagnosed for a long time and then inappropriately treated. I’m on the waiting list for specialized therapy in a few months and I’m strangely looking forward to it. It will be the hardest thing I’ve ever done and I know I’ll hate it at times, but I’m looking forward to getting my brain in order and being healthy again.

Yellow.  It can be soft and subtle or vibrant and blinding. It’s not my favorite color but it’s the happiest.
