As a fun little thing What is your favourite animal or species of animal and why?

It's been okay. Tired of the hustle but gotta keep the lights on yk. NDA work is taking up a lot of my time, and it's all cool stuff dgmw, but I need to improve making time to draw for myself.

Favorite animal will probably always be hyena. I think they're neat, and have misunderstood social hierarchy that is much more than what's typically an accepted belief (the males receiving hostility/abused by females.) They're matrilineal animals and the males typically move from pack to pack for genetic variation. It would make sense there are more instances of female hyenas pushing around lower ranking males because they probably just showed up. Like I would be a little bit of an asshole if some rando came to my porch and was like "I wanna bang your sister and join your clan for the food and pack benefits." Like, excuse me, who are you? Pushes this dude around a bit.

Anyway, hyenas are cool. I like a cool animal that nature said at some evolutionary point in history that this creature is "good enough" and remained seemingly unchanged beyond epochs. I highly suggest also scoping out hyena evolution and prehistoric species (dinocrocuta, my beloved).

6 things I've noticed about Stan's smoking habits because it's hyperfixation time yay

1- he's actually seen "chewing" cigs most of the times;

2- he usually lights a cig once he gets a task finished, or when excited;

after reuniting with Xeno,

or when about to literally cry as well

3- and it can be also seen by the tip of the cigarette;

underrated friendship (Ryusui being the closest person to Stanley after Xeno is so funny to me)

4- sadly, we never got to see a panel of him blowing smoke (my dream fr);

5- I believe this one of the very few panels he's not really with a cig;

6- and still his teeth seem completely white!

And that's all I have to offer today.

I'm curious if your approach to inking the forms or resources regarding it

I block out areas of heavy shadows with ink and then fill in the details. If I want some heavy meditation or a block print like finish I go with a scribble shading approach, like with my recent tarot wolves. I'd be a terrible teacher because I'm not confident at communicating thoughts to words.

I'd suggest studying the great artists'methods, and for me that really was Mike Mignola, Mike Ploog, Jhonen Vasquez, and Albrecht Durer for the longest time. Since then I just go with whatever I feel is best? Like studying from them to grow my legs, then walk, if that makes sense.

If you're talking about the fundamentals of inking, I suggest looking up the works of Alphonso Dunn. He has a few books available and also so, so many videos on his YouTube that I think are very essential for anyone at any skill level approaching ink. I like to watch him and relearn how to ink and falling in love with it all over again. I also feel in recent years I've developed skill regression (I got a cocktail of disorders affecting memory and function) so I feel I'm learning about it all the time. Which can sometimes be a good problem to have, it keeps me curious. Also why I'd be a terrible mentor imo.

Anyway I'm rambling. Alphonso Dunn is your guy, watch his vids. Be unafraid. Just start drawing in ink.
