Not like me at all to finish up my studying while eating lunch and in the car to and from ballet, right? Ha. That sounds exactly like me as of late. No wonder I've felt tired. I am not giving myself much of a break. But I tell myself that I only have a week left and Julien is going to be home soon, and it will be better to study extra now so I can spend more time with my brother when he gets back for the summer. It's only a few more days, and I'll get to see him again. I know I saw him over the winter holidays, but it was not long enough! Yet, I'm going to be gone for a lot of the summer too. It will be okay.

Mom is coming with us on one summer trip as a chaperone, partially because they needed more volunteers and we can afford to pay for a second trip (the cost for one person is pretty high). She wasn't going to at first, but I said it was okay and that it would give Dad and Julien time to be together and us time to be together, as long as she didn't umbrella (hover over) me during the trip, which she promised she wouldn't.

Tomorrow is my harmony exam! I can't believe it is here already! I've been studying during my piano practice times, but this exam is so difficult! Then again I didn't think I would score a distinction in my Advanced Foundation exam so maybe I'll get a higher mark on this than I'm expecting. Then again, I am more serious about ballet than I am piano, though I am still fairly serious about piano too. As long as I pass, that is all that matters. All I need is a 60, and I am good. Albeit, that is only a pass with no honors, but I am praying for a 60 minimum. Although, if I don't overthink like I sometimes do, I could manage at least a 70 I think.

All that being said, I may not get the chance to post tomorrow since my exam is at 9:30 and will take about 3 hours. I will be doing all of my school work of the afternoon before ballet and anything I don't finish on Saturday morning after breakfast if I need to.

I can do this! I am an amazing and awesome human being! I will not doubt myself. I will trust in my abilities because I have worked hard this entire year and I am as ready as I can be. I've got this!

Well, I'm watching the last 10th episode of Lastart (additional ones for Japanese) without subs, and I can even follow the conversation. Not everything is lost with me...

The members are interesting enough. Sakuya and Ryo are actually the weirdos of the bunch, the first thinks in an uncommon way, the second one is mentally older than his age despite his kid antics (the old soul). Daeyoung has been learning piano for 8 years and is very good. I can't believe he had studied Japanese for just 3 months prior to the shooting of the programme, he supported the conversation very well, maybe once or twice only switching to Korean. Seems like he is another memory machine among neos. Everyone likes anime except for Jungmin (he has watched Naruto though), so they started "to bully" him into joining the rest and catching up. Daeyoung likes Makoto Shinkai. When he first came to Japan, he heard the music from Shinkai's anime in his head.

Sakuya wants to learn many languages, which prompted the host to talk about NCT as a whole, how many languages they speak (I guess he met only 127 as he didn't mention Chinese). I like that the programme introduced two-way approach. It was not only about Koreans coming to discover Japan and their love for Japanese products, but also Japanese wanting to go explore the world.

Japan has a lot of animal cafes of all kinds. Which, actually, needs to be regulated because an owl cafe is not something I'd approve of, and they exist. L-kids were brought to a mini-pig cafe.

Riku and Jungmin. Riku is another anime guy to add to the neo list. He is a bishounen, he knows he is handsome, pretty confident in himself, at the same time he does cute stuff and has cute dreams, like wanting to work at a bakery. I've seen such characters. Side note: Japanese mangakas are actually very good at portraying Japanese, some artists even depict the characteristic anatomy to a t. Sometimes what seems like fictional/stylised for a foreigner, actually isn't and has a counterpart in real life.

both of my grandmothers. my given/legal name is very long—i have the most middle names out of anyone in my family.

hmmmm honestly i don't remember. i cried a lot over the past month and a half (mostly out of anger, frustration, or sensory issues). the nice thing i've cried about recently was the sunrise verse, though—it's taken over my mind and i'm not even upset because it's good.

fuck no. i don't do well around younger children and try and avoid them as much as possible so no one involved has to deal with that.

4.) Do you use sarcasm a lot?

depends—i enjoy a good dose of sarcasm, though i try and conserve it for moments that i feel are worth it, but sometimes i'll say something sincere and it's wrongly interpreted as sarcasm, so...........

believe it or not i was a competitive swimmer for five years, and i was pretty decent at it. unfortunately life conspired to make it impossible to pursue that further for a good while—though i'm planning on getting back to swimming regularly as exercise as soon as i have access to a pool again.

The connection breaks as Xuejiao finishes the call, "I gotta go now, I’m trying to get in my astrology professor’s pants after class!" The line goes silent and you huff, opening up GPS to lead you down the forsaken 96th Street. Distracted with directions, some guy crashes into you with his bike.

"What the hell!? Watch where you're going!" You yell picking up your fallen bag- which scattered all of my weeaboo s.hit.

"Maybe if you didn't stand in the middle of the street, you wouldn't have wrecked my bike! You're lucky you didn't get killed by a real car!" You looked up at the ignorant voice and found a young, orange-haired Asian boy. Maybe Chinese, like me?

"I wrecked your bike!? You're really unbelievable.." You placed everything back into the bag and took out your wallet. "Look, I don't have time for this. It's 9:57 AM, your o-chem class starts at 10 and you still can't find the campus. Why did my parents even make me leave Hong Kong? Because of the government, the pollution? Both countries are f.ucked. I choke there and I choke here.

The professor continued to call out names as you were caught up in texting Xuejiao about the kid who crashed into you earlier this morning being in your class, only half listening until you heard your name being called.

“Y/N and Yangyang.." Did I miss a racist joke or something? What the hell is a Yang Yang?

You kept texting Xuejiao, deciding to deal with it after class.

"I know it's a lot to take in on the first day, but on the bright side, you don't have to do the project," Some idiots celebrated, "but know that I will judge you harshly on it and I will be teaching at an Ivy League while you get kicked out of an Ivy League, never achieving your dreams." He fakes a sad face and the same idiots fuss.

"Now come meet your partners and have a good rest of your first day!" Your first professor dismissed the first class.

You put your phone in your pocket and stumbled to the bottom of the classroom, calling out for "Yangyang," the name feeling awkward as it rolled off your tongue.

"That's me." You spun around and were met with the trike guy from earlier.

"IT'S YOU!" You exclaimed in unison with him, the space between you two silencing for a second, before you spoke again.

"Oh my God I can't believe I got such a d!ck as a partner." You rolled your eyes with crossed arms.

"Hey! It takes two to d!ck!" Yangyang argues back. You stared at the fellow Asian boy in disgust and dismay.

"What the f.uck!?"

Both of you suddenly broke down laughing, your huddled classmates peeking at you with judgemental stares.

Yangyang calmed down and talked more comfortably with you, "Thanks for the boba by the way. I drank it deliciously.. before I dropped it because I crashed again."

Shaking your head at the ironic situation, you walked to the next class with a little over 10 minutes to spare, so you stopped for coffee at the Starbucks on campus.

The shop was pretty small and there weren't a lot of people inside. As you were about to enter, another Asian boy held the door open. "Thank you." You smiled, bowing your head in gratitude.

"Anything for a girl with such a charming smile. Can I buy you a coffee?" He asked.

"No, that's ok!" You replied, not wanting to inconvenience this guy- and besides, he might just be trying to get in my pants.

"Please I insist! Get anything you want!" You decided to take his offer because in the end, it’s free coffee. He was also pretty charming himself, and seemingly harmless.

"Could I get an iced Americano, please?" You ordered. "I'll have the same." The boy told the barista.

You both stood to the side of the bar, talking while the identical drinks were being made. "Thank you for paying, you really didn't have to." "No no it's really fine. I wanted to.. I'm Dejun Xiao by the way, I think I'm in your chemistry class. What's your name?"

"I'm Y/N." "Oh are you Chinese!?" You nodded. "I'm Chinese as well. Are you from China?" "I'm from Hong Kong." "That's so cool! I'm from Guangdong." "Oh nice, nice.." The drinks were handed to you and you walked out together, strolling into the center of the campus.

"What class do you have next?" Dejun asked, sipping at his coffee. You took out a crumpled paper to examine the schedule printed on it. "I have biochem next." "Oh we have the same class!" Dejun announced. "That's crazy! Are you premed?" You asked him. "No, I'm studying forensic science. I want to be a homicide detective.”

Wow this guy is impressive. "Wow, that's awesome.. I want to be a heart surgeon.”

“That’s so cool!” "Thank you." You laughed at his energy. The two of you walked in the direction of your next shared class, conversing and giggling with each other along the way.

You reached your next classroom and found empty seats next to one another. “You can call me Xiaojun, by the way. I think it’s cooler than Dejun.”

“If you have to say your name is cool, then it’s not cool.” Another Asian man walked up to your row.

"Hey man! You're in here, too?" Xiaojun asked. "Yeah! It was a lucky draw." Xiaojun then motioned over to you, "This is Y/N. She's my new.. friend?" He smiled at you, looking for confirmation. Returning his smile, "Yes I am. Nice to meet you." The other male shook your hand and introduced himself. "Nice to meet you, too. I'm Kun."

I took German for 3 years, but I can't really speak it lol 😂 I've also studied Chinese in my spare time for just above 200 days!

I don't mind sharing! I did 3 years of media and communications, where my electives were psychology, film and sound. This year I finished my bachelors in drama! Honestly, work for me is quite strange. I'm an actor, but I need money, so I'm looking for a 9-5 thing just for money, and acting on the side. Acting is kinda not a priority now because it isn't really a possibility, but if all goes well, I am doing a show this summer that I did last year!

My question today is: who in CQL is your favourite sibling/family relationship?

yeesss I can’t believe christmas is coming so soon... a part of me is still stuck in lockdown in april and yet at the same time july seems like eons ago time seemed to pass by so differently this year I swear ((,,´Θ`,,))

weeell I don’t know if my field of study is really valuable to what I’m doing now... I mean it might have been valuable had I gone into something like bureaucracy or foreign relations? but in packaging design.......??? not really... _(:3」∠)_ oh yes further proof of my lack of decision making skills: I majored in global studies with a focus on war and security in europe in uni... but I ended up writing my final year honours’ thesis on the differences between lingering anti-japanese sentiment in china, singapore, south korea, and taiwan *shrugs*

*sobs* there was a period of time I could speak german well okay enough to survive there, but now... I’ve forgotten all my sentence structures and vocabulary and I can probably still think faster in french than I can in german (ノдT) oo how’s your chinese learning going! I’ve read that it’s quite a difficult foreign language to learn, because of the tones and all the different characters. and wow, more than 200 days?!?! can you watch dramas with just the chinese subtitles now? d(･∀･○)

what you studied sounds like the real interesting one here! when you were still studying this year, were you already on lockdown or was it pre-lockdown? I wonder how studying a bachelors in drama would be conducted online hmmm.... oh yes, but I can’t imagine how much more challenging finding an acting-related job is in the current climate, and there are people saying it would worsen and the second wave is coming (;ﾟдﾟ) (and that recent news about the more virulent strain in the uk... >_<) I do hope it gets better for you soon though, and that you’ll finally get to act this summer!

favourite cql sibling/ family relationship would definitely be wen qing and wen ning! wen qing’s bravery and her protectiveness of her brother, her willingness to put herself in risky situations just so that she can take care of him, I really, really love her character for that ^^

November Favorites 2020!

 Hello!

So as you may have seen I have been uploading a bunch of art all of November, not every week because of my crippling job at the moment taking away my sanity.lol. But i did try my best to update whenever I can. I do have so much more to complete so please look out this December for more digital art being pumped out

How are you all doing?  I'm holding up decently, I'm trying to avoid talking about covid since that's all i've been hearing from work and home and it's really making me anxious since i'm not able to work from home due to the nature of my job. I hope you all are holding up hope and taking care of your selves, let's all remember that there is a time after this and we will get through this.

with that being said I will have a lot more time to spend on my art after January since my work term is going to end and I don't plan to stay for an extension, so maybe then I'll catch up on all of my previous art that I was supposed to upload, a.k.a my hero academia ones.lol

also I'm still chugging along reading more manhwa (web toons ) from korean and chinese artists, i'm so disappointed in myself for not discovering these sooner, these stories are really good and so much effort was put into the art panels, as I have said all I've read was manga so i'm used to just seeing black and white panels, so i never really dove into web toons though I have appreciated the work put into it, now that I'm down the rabbit hole I am discovering really good story lines that are different from the manga I've read thus far and I'm really enjoying it!

so i'm excited to share my thoughts on everything I've been liking

so previously in last months recommendations I have talked about a few of the manhwa I've been reading so I'll briefly list those below since they are all still ongoing

all of them are still ongoing and i'm still in the process of reading them so I can't give a full review till it's completed but so far I am still enjoying them, that's definitely a good sign since i tend to just drop something after I don''t find it interesting anymore at some point in the story. If you have not read my October favorites journal please do so for my initial thoughts on these manhwas. Now i'm actually going to talk about some of the ones that are completed   , so you can definitely read all of them without waiting for the an update from translators, lol

this is in no particular order, just fyi

1) Path to you

"When almost college dropout Jensen attempts to drink away his problems, unemployed Nathaniel( Neil ) suddenly pukes on him and ruins his night. As an apology, Nathaniel offers to help Jensen with his studies. Despite Jensen's difficulties in getting along with people, the two become friends and something deeper begins to grow between them...”

this is the summary from one of the manga websites I was able to find, it does not even describes the emotional plot line that goes along with this later, this is ones of my absolute favorites! I love this manhwa so much, its a great depiction of a coming of age story for collage students going through their life journey and slowly getting though life's difficulties  and challenges, one character is going though emotional trauma and trying to over come it for years and another character is going through anti social disorder and discovering his sexuality, it's a plot line that portrayed human aspects in life quite well. I love the relationship between the two main character and how their relationship developed over time from being friends to being a couple. there is a lot of relationship building and minimal drama, which is really refreshing from mangas that I've read, so if you are just starting to delve into BL webtoons, please read this first! you will not be disappointed

with that being said, I love Neil, so much.... you don't even know. lol. He's so precious, literally like an actual cinnamon roll. LOL. i'm exposing myself ...so i'll leave it at that, i’m also wondering why his name is neil instead of nathan or nate...? lol.

2) Here U Are

"Orientation of  the newcomers is a task for YuYang, and he ends up helping the unsociable and towering LiHuan, the kind of person that does everything to be disliked. But after better knowing each other, he discovers that the giant isn’t that bad of a person at all...”

I really wish I could find better summaries, lol. but it's to the point without giving away too much so i'll take it. This is one of the most popular series and I can totally see why after reading it, this story has every possible human aspect and relationship building  between the two main leads, I actually teared in some parts of this manhwa and I've never done that before! such a good story and plot line, if I were to pick any series in a web toon to be animated then I would choose this series hands down. There's also sub plots between different characters as well and how they deal with their interpersonal relationships and relationships between the two main leads, I love it! This is everything I want in a story, so please check this one out

also yuyang looks a lot like miyuki Kazuya from Daiya no ace and that just made me drawn to him.I really liked his personality and in the manhwa he has girls and guys in love with him and dude...I get it.

3) BJ Alex

Timid Dong-gyun admires not only Alex’s ripped body, but his candor in sharing his sexual experiences with viewers. so um...this is more yaoi than shounen ai cause of all the graphic scenes in the manhwa, if you are veteran you may have already read this one cause its really popular. It also has a lot of comedic elements to it too so it's not too serious, but the relationship developed between the two characters later on is really sweet despite the infinite amount of sex scenes. Not much else to say about this story, it's easy to follow and the only abuse in here is the emotional kind

I'm not really entirely sure how i felt about it in the beginning but the end is really good

I have to preface by saying that ever since my twilight phase, I didn't consume anything that had to do with vampires for a very long time, for obvious reasons, but this one I just came across after reading path to you and thought I would at least check it out. It started off really comedic and I was like...what am i reading?  but it gets really light hearted and wholesome later on in the story. What I like about this is the character juwon, If you look at him he's that type of character that would look like the stoic a-hole of the story and those characters never appeal to me. But turns out he's the sweetest person most decent person of this story, it makes you want to route for him  and another thing I like about this story is that it looks like a harem but you can tell that there’s only one person the main character doungha treats differently from the rest and how the two are compatible with one another.  in these kind of stories, it’s always treated as every character is a possible route that leads to their own story but in here....there's only one...let's be real. This is one that is an odd ball cause it's technically completed but the translations are not...so i had to read the rest in korean, which makes it a good practice for me since i'm learning korean at the moment, it’s a good exercise...lol

Oh wow... I've been thru the Insurance Gamut Games myself so I know how that feels. Good news is that you know it's not a heart issue, but it certainly sounds like some anxiety. Not surprising honestly, the last few years were building to the current climate socially/politically, and not to go all 'conspiracy theorist' but who knows WTF is in our water/food/air. When we're anxious, depressed, stressed... we can't fight as hard. It feels like a war being waged on us. Well, here's my advice- (pt1)

- If you need meds, and they help, take them, but also some great things that help me (you know I'm on Xanax so I understand living with anxiety/depression/also a spinal injury); CANABIS! Oh girl, the sweet sweet chiba is medicine from God. I'm in a seriously illegal state, so I have to be all cloak and dagger about it, but one day I will live in paradise where healing thyself is legal. Also hardcore meditation... I'm not talking the easy light stuff. I mean 'transform your whole soul' type- pt2

And if it does end up being actual, clinical anxiety attacks that caused it, sounds like seeing a good therapist, one who truly understands your worldview and can offer something tangible to you in sessions, they can be life transforming. I had an awesome but she moved back home to Canada. We are going to get thru this, and we will take back control. You are a Firefly fan, right? Browncoats, girl... Browncoats forever. I’m easing into some anxiety drugs as we speak, have been on them for a few weeks now. They help, but man, them side effects.

There was a study recently, non-conspiratorial, that I didn’t bookmark that looked at a number of pollutants in the air correlating with a marked rise in cardiac problems. It wasn’t a smoking gun, but it was a pretty viable theory that was still being studied and it caught my eye for being the sort of thing that could be very relevant down the line. Like lead in the water - I might not blog about Flint that much, but believe me, it’s still on my radar - leading to a larger number of health and mental problems with people drinking from the affected source for long periods of time. That was known.

I don’t partake of the gentle bud that much (I’ve had edibles, like, twice in my life), but from people I know, I do have to caution that for some people with anxiety, the herb can actually heighten anxiety and make it worse. To some extent, it’s about the mental state you go into it with. Also apparently what strain? I don’t know, my thumb is not even remotely green.

The one thing about keeping the Serenity flying, at the rate 45 is running us into the dirt, we’re all probably going to end up learning Chinese.
