Last song: That Mio Honda - Step song that I just saw and heard because it was on a tumblr post of green screened Jerma running away from her on a TF2 map. I have not heard of that song before nor known its like... history(?) but it is catchy. Though the last song that I knew about and have actively searched up for the express purpose of listening would be You Don't Know Me from Fortnite. I think it's like a pavlovian response to repeatedly seeing the hot tiger man dance with that song's respective emote. (I can't believe he's the reason for me to finally start playing Fortnite)

Favorite color: Some form of sky blue. It's nice to look up and see something so vast and endless.

Last movie/TV show: Bad Cat, a 2016 Turkish animated film about a bad cat. I had a watch party just last week with a couple of my buds. It was enjoyable, but it is not something that I would have watched it on my own.

Last book: Sorry, I don't really read books unless I have to... There was the manga of Ramen Wolf and Curry Tiger vol. 2. (Also, looking it up, apparently there is now a vol. 3 slated for release 2025 wow)

Looking forward to: Ramen Wolf and Curry Tiger vol. 3 lol. There's also the Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door remake coming out this year. Really looking forward to that.

one of the first things i learned for acting on stage was blocking. not just where you're moving and standing but how you're moving and standing. the core of stage blocking is to keep yourself open to the audience in order for them to see your gestures and expressions as clearly as possible, and to keep from muddling other actors' blocking as well. "they should never see your back unless your back has something to say." they drill this into you, and it results in learning some fairly unnatural ways to hold and move yourself. it affects how i turn around to this day, and i haven't set foot on a stage in over a decade. it's just that important.

if you watch a lot of plays or are generally into theatre you may already know all that, or have probably noticed it subconsciously at the very least, and would notice if a stage actor's blocking was suddenly closed instead of open. that's unusual, so it's either for A Reason or it's a mistake. it stands out, and feels off right away.

can you imagine if you went to see a stageplay and every single person's blocking was standard and open...except for one. just one whose blocking was inverted. consistently closed off. back to the audience. never fully turning around. not quite a character, not quite an audience member. as if the ones he's performing for aren't sitting in the audience, but running around on the stage.

imagine a play that revolves around this character. you never even get to see what he's feeling. if mics aren't involved, his words may even feel more distant since he's projecting to the back of the stage instead of out to the audience. ...but you see him go through everything regardless. you see him face it all even if you can't see his face, and so you can't help but root for the back of that white coat.

then imagine something happens. something changes, irreversibly.

he turns around.

what would it take for him to finally do that? how would you feel when you saw his face in that moment?

i am once again committing to my stance that visual adaptions of orv can only truly hit if they commit to the act of hiding his face from the audience aside from/up until when the text itself reveals specific parts of him.

Generation Loss 1 Musings and Disordered Theories

Spoilers for all three episodes of Gen Loss 1 under the readmore. Just some thoughts about the Puzzler, theories about topics of a potential prequel, and also something about gl! Ranboo in future Generations I can't stop thinking about

Generation Zero/Rumored Prequel

I'm very very interested in the prospect of a prequel, and learning exactly why everything is happening the way it is. I think if we do get one, our Hero will be one of the characters that's been around longest (I can't shake the idea of gl!Jerma and gl!Slime being two of the oldest cast members, something about them being hosts for the shows makes me think they've been around much much longer than everyone else) I really wanna say Slime could potentially be our Hero, and maybe we'd get to see when Sneeg appeared in the cabin?

Or, potentially Hetch.

Seeing Hetch's origins would be incredibly fun, especially if we got to see him as the Hero, before getting asked by Showfall to run the shows himself. I do think he was potentially a Hero, just like Ranboo, and maybe was part of the cast for awhile before Showfall promoted him to gamemaster? Show director? Head scientist? Idk

Ranboo moving forward

I know Ranboo's said they'll take a step back from acting and focus more on writing, but I think we could potentially see him in later generations, atleast as a side character. I also wonder if the box will stay on? Follow me on this, but what if in later generations, Ranboo appears as a quirky side character, with some sort of old TV in place of a head? And maybe (like the Puzzler or the Slime Demon) everyone's going along with it because it's just their little character costume, haha!

But we would know.

I feel like Showfall would have a tough time keeping them alive AND removing the box, so leaving it on would be a simplier option. And they can just mind control everyone to see it as anything they want, right? Like the slime.

It wouldn't have to be a TV per say, especially because the Security ALSO has a TV head so idk if they could do it twice BUT wouldn't that be just horrifying?

The Puzzler

I know I'm reaching and grasping with this section. But hear me out. You know the end part of episode two where Ranboo listens to the recording and gets that key from the Puzzler, and he tells Ranboo about getting out and finding the truth, and that "the truth will set you free"? And then immediately afterwards Hetch appears and completely derails everything, and Ranboo forgets about the key?

I really did see that as the Puzzler breaking character and gl!Jerma trying to get Ranboo out. He said during his show that he'd been doing this for 30 years. Maybe that wasn't as crazy as an exaggeration as we all thought? And so many other people have pointed out: when the rats and the Puzzler were trying to join in on the fashion show, they were fully willing and ready to stop the death games, but it was the players who kept them going. And the Puzzler completely breaks character as well, and you can hear him plainly ask the players if they "really don't want to hang out with them". Once they press him to continue, Jerma resumes his Puzzler persona. I think Jerma is one of the oldest cast members, and I think he's been brainwashed and memory programmed and reprogrammed so many times that Showfall's methods are starting to not work on him. Another moment I thought was strange is when Sneeg is reprogrammed and brought back to the carousel, you can see the Puzzler completely frozen with a horrified expression on his face, but once he's unfrozen by Showfall he goes right back to whatever he was doing. I think Jerma knows, atleast on some level, that things are not as they seem, but he also realizes he's completely powerless in this situation. So he keeps playing his little gameshow persona, and tried to take advantage of the players derailing to stop the death games, and once there were no more options he tries to atleast leave some sort of escape plan for Ranboo, so maybe they can, just maybe, make it out of here. Only for Hetch to ruin it and drag Ranboo off on a series of red harrings.

I sincerly hope we get more of gl!Jerma and I would be estatic with more Puzzler. I just think there's more to his character than we're led to believe but maybe I'm just seeing things. Who knows. Definitely not me lmao

But yeah! I've only watched Gen Loss once so I might be off on these, and maybe on a rewatch I'll get more ideas or theories going.

maybe the comparison with a hollywood film is too high of a bar, but i think comparing it to any other indie internet horror project is misleading as well given that this was a live event and not a youtube video that could be recorded and "performed" until it was perfected. jerma's production company does have experience putting on live events, but not one that required as many pre-planned story beats, multiple sets & cinematic shots. it's not exactly easy to figure out how to do that + the integration.

there's been a lot of comparisons to jerma's dollhouse, and the first episode especially was reminiscent, but even that never got to the level production-wise that something like the third episode required.

yeah honestly you make a lot of good points. i can't imagine all the planning that would've had to go into this. overall i think it was pretty decent, there was just flaws that personally made the watch less enjoyable. i also think i'm a bit more moderate in terms of my feelings than some other people, but we're just out here expressing our opinions

Yeah! There's a lot of options actually! There's a channel that uploads his VODs in their entirety called the Jerma Stream Archive, and there's a channel that does cut down edits of his streams named 2ndJerma, which are the two most "official" YouTube channels. But a lot of people upload clips/edits of entire streams! The channels I like the most are Cheltie, SuperDazza, and Jerma Clips. They're "less official" in the sense that they don't run every video by Jerma before uploading but I do know at least a couple fan-run channels have Jerma's express permission to upload stream edits, which is cool. Each of those fan channels has a different style/favorite moments so it's fun to check on all of em. I first got into watching uploads of his streams on YouTube! You also don't have to have a twitch account to watch streams last I checked, but if you watch without an account you can't comment in chat.

Before Jerma started streaming, actually, he did make YouTube videos about various things, comedy bits that he'd come up with, gameplay of his favorite games, and he'd upload to the channel Jerma985. He did a lot of TF2 gaming, and his personal looks and Boston accent got him compared to Scout from that game a lot. He's done at least one video with the scout voice actor, and people theorize that the Scout's name (Jeremy) was coined after Jerma (whose name is also Jeremy). In 2016 though he started putting focus on streaming on twitch and by 2017 he REALLY put focus on twitch, and his original YouTube channel doesn't have any videos uploaded since 2017 because he made twitch his entire focus. However, that may change in the near future, since he's retiring from twitch but still interested in creating at a slower pace, and has said he might go back to making YouTube videos when he can. Which actually sounds pretty exciting!

I have been literally chased out of towns by foot and by car on two separate occasions. What does the color blue taste like? Creme brulee

What is the most beautiful thing you've ever seen? The appalachian mountains of Tennessee in the middle of summer. There's kudzu everywhere. On the backroads, there were several old, dilapidated Baptist churches barely hanging to the side of the mountain. I wonder how many of them were still in use.

What is the stupidest thing you've ever done? Short version: my friend's house almost got broken into by this dude who'd been stalking us for months while we were home alone. Instead of calling the cops, we decided to confront him with a bow and arrow (me), a hatchet, and a baseball bat (him). The plan was that if it went badly, we would simply throw his corpse into one of the many lakes in the neighborhood and let the alligators eat his remains (this was Florida). Why? Because we were afraid of having our home-alone privileges revoked. Luckily for us all, the guy fucked off and we never saw him again.

Stupidest thing you've seen/heard someone else do/say? My ex thought that Jackalopes were real. Also, a nurse I was doing rotations with apparently thought that "Witness Protection" was for Jehovah's Witnesses.

Is there any meaning behind your profile picture and/or username? Profile pic; I'm transmasc and I'm currently obsessed with TriStamp. Username; It was my fake internet name when I was like 13. I won't change it because I want my mutuals to recognize me, and because I do have a viral post associated with this name.

Dream career as a child? Doctor (funnily enough I'm now in nursing school)

Dream career as an adult? Professional Jester. Not a comedian. I just want to be some weird little guy who dresses silly and you can hire me to roast your boss at work parties.

Have you ever been banned from a location and if so, why? I honestly can't remember? Probably... but in recent memory I've mainly banned people from places.
