“Can I ask you something?” 

Fushiguro’s voice is unusually strained. His words sound strung around the edges, yet there’s still something strangely vulnerable about what he's implying.

“What’s up?” Despite your nonchalance, you’re relieved he's broken the silence.  It was clear something was wrong ever since he'd closed himself off, an irritated frown pulling at his lips.  When you originally asked him about it, he shrugged it off as being tired, but you knew Fushiguro. It was obvious that he'd only responded to you out of polite necessity.

There's a brief pause as he struggles to find the right way to go about this. And then he's sighing, his gaze setting in resolve. "Who was that?"

You turn, casting your gaze toward the retreating figure. He's upset about that?

Fushiguro shifts in his stance.

"Oh," you blink, "you don't have to worry about it."

It's clear Fushiguro doesn't like your answer, and he glowers at his feet. "They seemed to know you well."

You can't help the amused breath of air that leaves your mouth. If you didn't know any better, you'd think Fushiguro were jealous. There's a bitter tinge to his voice, one that's all too clearly matched with his prickly attitude. You're not quite sure how Fushiguro manages to appear extremely disconnected while also obviously upset.

"I guess so." You chew on your lip, gauging his reaction. "They're my ex."

Fushiguro’s head snaps up. His eyes widen, disappointment quickly clouding over his expression. And then as quickly as it comes, a practiced stillness glides across his features and erases any trace of emotion, carefully preserving a mild, disinterested facade. "Oh."

You stifle a laugh. "Oh?'

Fushiguro sighs, rubbing the back of his neck. He leans his head against the wall in exasperation. "They still like you." The moment the words leave his mouth, he scrunches his face like the very thought leaves a bitter aftertaste, citrine and unwelcome. "It's so obvious."

"They don't."

"They do."

"And how would you know that?"

"Because they made a fool of themselves," Fushguro sends a pointed look your way, almost as if you're the one he's irritated with. "Like, they'd do anything to get your attention."

"Fushiguro," you start.

"It's so stupid," he mumbles, dropping his gaze, "it's just like how I"--

You tilt your head. "How you?"

His mouth parts in realization, and he sighs. "Forget it. It doesn't matter." He sticks his hands in his pockets, lips drawn to the side as he processes. It's something you've seen him do often.

Except, you're not expecting to witness regret flicker across his face. It's gone as soon as you see it.

"Would you?" When he looks back at you, a trace of desperation fills his voice.

It's almost as if your next words hold the answer to some long, puzzled over question that only he knows the words to.

"Would I what?"

"Go back," Fushiguro mumbles. "Would you go back to them if you could?"

"No."

Fushiguro blinks. "You didn't even think about it."

“I don’t need to think about it.”

"They'd take you back," he says helplessly.

"Do you want me to?" You tease, shaking your head. "I don't have feelings for them."

Fushiguro can't look away. It's at this moment where it seems as if there's no disconnection between what he's saying and what he's expressing.

"So, I still have a chance." It's murmured softly, phrased so delicately that it feels like a question and a realization all at once. You're not even sure if he intended for you to hear it.

"I told you, Megumi. You don't have to worry."

As soon as you say it, Fushiguro flushes. It's not just his ears--his entire face. "I'm not worried," he mutters hotly, assuming a haughty expression and turning away. "I don't know why you'd think that."

[𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐢 𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞]

Inumaki’s upset.  His violet eyes turn perfectly dead-pan with no trace of the gleeful recognition that normally lights across his expression whenever he meets your gaze.  Neither is there any trace of indifference.  In fact, upset might be an understatement.  He looks furious. 

It started off as a pout when he met your eyes from across the grounds.  He’d waved, arm thrown over his head in an exaggerated sort of way.  He’d tilted his head, too, physically whining about why you couldn’t finish up and join him and the others already. 

That was before your sparring partner slammed their polearm into your stomach, sending you sprawling to the ground.  It’s harsher than supposed to be, and you cough, clutching your ribs.  You’re not hurt, it just stings a little. 

It was then that you’d risked a glance at Inumaki, and witnessed every fluctuation of emotion that crossed his face.  Even from here, it’s easy to tell exactly how angry he is.  And judging from his reaction, you’re all too aware that he’s finally noticed who the person is that just violated sparring rules.  

Inumaki’s usual reaction when you fall during training is that of amusement.  He likes to tease you, as long as you’re not seriously hurt, especially since he knows that everyone means well. 

But this is very different. 

You grimace, trying to somehow communicate that it's fine, but --

“Konbu.” 

It’s the rudest greeting you’ve ever heard from him.  And it’s directed at the person sparring against you.  

“Toge,” you hiss, “go away.” 

Inumaki turns his gaze to you.  His eyes soften, and he crouches down next to you, tilting his head to the side.  “Salmon?”  He presses a hand against yours, the one clutching your side.  

Are you okay?

You nod, gratefully accepting the other hand he offers to help you stand.

Except, when you try to resume training, Inumaki doesn’t let go.  His hand remains slipped into yours, and he even interlocks your fingers with his for good measure.  His hand is trembling. 

“Inumaki.” 

He meets your gaze quickly, stopping himself from stepping forward.  And then his anger defuses, and he sighs, tugging at your arm.  He gestures toward the tree a few distances away, the same one you usually relax at with everyone in-between meals, missions, training, whatever. 

You shake your head. 

Even though you can’t see his mouth, you know he’s pouting.  Except this time it’s not just out of wanting to spend time with you.  It’s a childish pout, an angry pout, and you’re all too aware of what it means.

He doesn’t understand why you're letting your ex get away with this.

But it’s when you pry his hand off yours, that Inumaki glowers at you. 

He wraps his arms around your waist, gentle enough to avoid pressing against your ribs, and he pushes you away from the sparring grounds.  And more importantly, away from your ex who he visibly bristles at.

“Stop, we’re not finished --”

“Salmon, salmon,” Inumaki mumbles in sympathy, but even you can detect the obvious glee behind his voice, as he presses his cheek against yours. 

You want to smack him. 

He lets go when you’ve reached where he wants to go, and he gazes at you with bright eyes.

“You didn't have to do that, you know.” 

Inumaki looks at you blankly.  A sarcastic eyebrow raises. 

You sigh, already knowing why it bothers him so much.  “I’m still mad at you.” 

Inumaki just shrugs, tugging at blades of grass and letting them blow away in the wind.  He rests his head atop your lap, gazing at the leaves breezing back and forth.

HISTORY

triggers: child abandonment, car accident (drunk driving), death

prudence van holt’s birth is a mystery-- all she knows is she was dropped off at the fire station in a town outside of seattle, the only identification a baby blanket with her name on it. 

she ends up being adopted by a couple, the van holts, who always wanted multiple kids but could not after their first, a boy. 

growing up, she’s always been a little shit. she doesn’t mean to be. she just has an insatiable curiosity, sticking her nose in other’s businesses, finding lost things, she had a strange knack for it. it got her into a lot of trouble, children had no business sticking their nose into adults’ things. 

her brother never really liked her-- he always resented the fact their parents brought her home, took her in, when they already had a perfectly fine child needing attention. petty things, except it’s sparked a life long sibling rivalry that runs deep. 

it’s a pretty uneventful childhood, her parents are good people, they provide for her, and support her, despite her troublesome antics. 

she’s always been a lonely child, she’s never had the easiest time making friends, so she’s spent a lot of her time exploring the woods near her home. 

she’s thirteen when she discovers her mother, whom she always has written off as simply eccentric, is more than that-- she’s a witch. and a good one, too. her book club meetings she’s often privvy to walking through is more than that, it’s her coven. 

so of course, prue wants in-- how can she not? it’s a whole new world, working under her mother’s wing, driving a wedge further between herself and her brother. she tells her to be careful, to watch her back, that there’s bad people who want to do bad things with the power they wield. it instills a deeper ideal of trust no one in prudence-- one that sticks with her to this day.

and she’s dedicated to the craft! she takes time to learn the different meanings and uses of herbs, flowers, etc., makes potions, cast spells-- perhaps sometimes for personal gain, but she’s dedicated herself to using them to help others. 

she sort of becomes a private investigator in high school, not on purpose, but a friend tasks her to find out if her boyfriend is cheating on her, so tails him, catches him in the act-- gives him a little hex for good measure. 

it becomes a thing, people need something found? they go to her. think their partner is fooling around? they go to her. and she delivers, all with a little touch of magic. eventually, she wants to go deeper, take on more serious cases, but alas she’s only a teenager. 

sike! that doesn’t stop her. and as much as she hates cops, she has an in at the department through her father, so soon she’s not so legally trying to solve murders. 

and that’s all fine and dandy, until just a month shy of her eighteenth birthday, and two months before she graduates from high school, her parents get into a car accident coming home from a meeting one night. a drunk driver swerves into their side of the road, hitting them head on. neither survive. 

it’s that that has her change her mind about college, why go to college when she already knows what she wants to do? life is fleeting, and she’s hurting, so she graduates, and moves to eldstead, a town an hour and half away from her own home. it’s not a big change, but enough for her to have a fresh start. 

she knows something is different about the storm when it hits, that it brought about something... destructive. and she’s inclined to get to the bottom of all of it. it’s in her nature-- she has to snoop. 

she runs her own private investigation that used to serve eldstead and the surrounding area, but now it’s simply eldstead. she makes her own hours, and works alone, because she prefers it that way. 

PERSONALITY 

she’s really closed off-- she prefers to be alone, because of the shit she’s seen, and the people in her life, she just expects to be let down. 

when you first meet her, there’s a chance she’s just going to brush you off. she’s not exactly the friendliest person out there? 

will she be an asshole for the sake of being an asshole? no. absolutely not. but she is unflinchingly honest about her observations, and that doesn’t always go over well. 

very much a ‘do the thing first, ask for forgiveness later type of person’-- doesn’t have a lot of regard for rules that aren’t her own. (*dw voice* that sign can’t stop me bc i can’t read!)

if u do manage to be friends with her, she’s got ur mf back she’s unflinchingly loyal and if you break her trust, you’re pretty much dead to her lol

(geordi’s here because i love him and the experiment they’re doing is ‘if soji puts enough parts of her brain in sleep mode can she or geordi talk to a remnant of her dad in there’ and the result is ‘yes and there are seventeen individual lines of dialogue that will have you bawling like a baby’. then they have to pilot la sirena out of a contested patch of space together because they accidentally let her drift while they were doing weird science and everybody else is planetside having wacky market haggling shenanigans and emmett & enoch are still not online. do they sit in The Correct Spots On The Bridge? brother, it’s the only reason the scene exists)

star trek picard episode whatever 2 electric boogaloo “Dinner and a Holonovel”: Raffi and Seven go on their first official date. Meanwhile, La Sirena receives a coded message from one of Raffi’s mysterious contacts. (in this one Raf and Sev get dressed up but they’re both sort of uncomfortable doing so and they try to have a date but neither of them are enjoying themselves trying to be normal, because Raf’s an old reprobate who’s definitely forgotten how to Have Fun With Others and Sev never learned because it wasn’t relevant to her interests. but then they wind up in some trouble(maybe they deliberately seek it out sort of unconsciously bc they’re bored) and it becomes a fun bar fight date that they really enjoy. everybody else is playing twenty questions trying to figure out this weirdly-encoded message for her bc she’s busy. they come back all bruised and grinning and the whole gang looks up at them with this half-decoded message and is like what kind of life do you lead).

(it’s a reverse heist episode starring everyone’s two favorite sort-of-semi-retired-?-spies (if we are spies no we are not. yes we are. no <3). julian and raffi have a very good rapport and sev and garak don’t understand each other AT ALL. yes they are together in this one. no i dont think we need much backstory on when or how it happened i will leave that to the experts and their fucking youtube plays. keep up the good work. what are they reverse-stealing? idk yet it’s just a vehicle for character dynamics anyway).

star trek picard episode we cry a lot “The Daughters”: Soji confronts her legacy when an old friend of her fathers hails La Sirena, eager to repay a debt. (although to be honest, when is our sweet girl NOT confronting her legacy? that bitch is all legacy; she’s got legacy frankly oozing out of her positronic pores. this is partly a story about soji, but it takes a while to get there. first it’s the story of Sarge, who had an imaginary friend when she was six...

she can’t pinpoint exactly when she came up with him, and she doesn’t even remember what she named him - but she knows it happened sometime around the evacuations, and when they all moved back home and the world started growing again - lush and fast from the rich volcanic soil - she used to spend hours playing around with her birthday-gift radio set, ‘talking’ to her imaginary friend. of course, she never got actual replies, but as she aged out of the phase she retained an interest in radio and communications, and her parents indulged it and bought her more and better equipment, enrolled her in science programs, fed her curiosity. until one day as a young adult doing a school project on theoretical outer space transmissions, she arrived at a theory which (she later describes it as a CLICK, like something is settling into place in her brain) could account for the existence of extraterrestrial life, just out of reach. and perhaps, she posits in her presentation, the reason no aliens had yet contacted her world had little to do with them not being there and much to do with them choosing not to respond. the goal, she concluded, was to continue reaching out - to close the gap. she wrapped up the presentation with a nod to nostalgia. “And maybe someday, those friends will be imaginary no more.”

she wins an award for the project, and begins work in her chosen field that’s extremely rewarding, but it is still years before she reaches her second conclusion: the logical leap that if future alien contact was not only possible but likely, her imaginary friend might have been a real person after all. she brings this idea up with her mother one night over dinner, and her mother is somewhat alarmed - what do you mean you think you were talking to aliens, you couldn’t do that on a child’s transmitter kit, adults??? adult aliens? what are you saying they said to you? - but she can’t answer. she doesn’t have clear memories of that time, only an unshakeable conviction that the life she may have contacted is closer than anyone could possibly imagine. and so she starts a new project. she digs out the old childhood kit, fiddles with the dials, finds the frequency she used to tune it to. in her mind’s eye there’s the impression of a clear, frank voice, but no words. she tunes her own, more modern and complex instruments, to the same frequency, and keeps listening.

one day, she hears something. this time, she doesn’t talk first. the next few months are a whirlwind of information-gathering. there are people out there. whole societies. she pieces together the basics of what she’ll eventually learn is the prime directive; enough ships pass by the atmosphere of her world that she’s able to form a working conclusion as to why the come close but never hail. they know we’re down here, she thinks, they just think we’re not ready.

and maybe they don’t have the kind of boats that could get you that far into the sky. but she’s always been resourceful. she picks up a new frequency, and starts listening to starfleet. and after a few months of listening and planning, she starts packing. she takes the kiddie transmitter kit, she takes clothing designed for all-weather wilderness exposure, she takes the kind of emergency preserved food that people used to keep by the pallet in case of earthquake, and she takes a few other trinkets she can’t live without. and when the time is right, she hails. it might be a combination of luck or goodwill, but she manages to convince a passing freighter that she is the stranded comms officer of a downed private ship, the only survivor of the wreck hiding out on a pre-warp world. they beam her up and the first few weeks are very touch-and-go, but she manages to convince them she belongs up here, that the people who look like her are very far away and not just under their feet, darting around her green little world like a hill of bugs under the eyes of giant birds. she gets off at the nearest starbase, and she starts exploring.

she takes numerous vessels to numerous worlds, gathering information all the time. she starts calling herself Sarge, instead of Sarjenka, and it makes people think she’s a military type and nobody bothers her. she stops at a library planet for a month and researches everything she can about the major governing systems in the galaxy. without much to go on - no name, only a vague physical description (tall? pale? humanoid?) - it’s hard to determine exactly what kind of vessel the Friend would have been on, if indeed he existed. the yellow clothes, one of her few clear recollections, lead her to guess starfleet, but starfleet is a massive organization and so many of its vessels have come near her homeworld that it seems unlikely she’ll be able to narrow it down like that. so she tries a different tack, searching for the other two vague faces that she can bring to mind. one is a middle-aged woman, humanoid, but the search turns up nothing; the woman is a doctor who has retired from the organization and now works at a teaching hospital near vulcan. the other is a bald man with a deep voice, humanoid, and his record turns up an absolute deluge of information. she skips past most of it; she’s inpatient now, if anyone knows about the Friend he will, and so she checks his last known location. on board the private supply-class ship La Sirena, captained by ex-starfleet officer Cristobal Rios. Rios is tall, dark-haired, and humanoid, but absolutely nothing about him rings that little mental bell. she checks his last docking location. the ship visited a reclamation site briefly, and then disappears from the record.

but Sarge is nothing if not a searcher, so she adjusts her frequencies and tries again. it’s months before they’re in proximity to one another, months in which she’s taken the opportunity to secure her own vessel, a little rented, dented passenger bucket that’s probably worth more in repairs than the price she got it for. but she trades radio repairs for ship repairs at the port where she buys it, looks up its name (Avis) and finds it acceptable, and then she’s in the sky. she tools around exploring new bases and stations, and keeps the hail open. and one day, it’s answered. a human voice answers. “Avis, we read you. What can we do for you?” they go on-screen with each other, and she sees first the captain - the bearded guy - and then...him. the old man. he is an old man, the bald guy, and his eyebrows raise when he sees her come on the viewer.

“Permission to come on board?” she asks. “I have something which might belong to one of you.”

the old man looks wary for a moment, but then he turns to someone behind him, they exchange some quiet words, and he nods. “Permission granted.”

there’s a young woman waiting for her at the transport platform. shorter than her by a good half meter, humanoid. pale. “Dr. Soji Asha,” she says, “You look...”

and Sarge could swear she’s about to say ‘familiar.’

“Sarge,” she says, and the woman’s small hand grasps her long one in a firm shake, and then waits patiently while Sarge performs greeting, letting her fingers just-not-rest on the woman’s shoulders and arms. “I’m actually looking for an old friend of mine, and I thought you might have his whereabouts. Tall, pale, starfleet officer? Ops gold. I know that’s not much to go on, but if it helps, he would have once contacted and established a rapport with pre-warp Drema IV? Humanoid, but not human. He...” It’s weird. standing here, explaining herself to this quietly-held young woman, Sarge is able to articulate better than ever before her half-formed memories. “He told me once he was a machine.” and then, like another CLICK is settling, she has a name. At last. “Data.” I knew he’d had a name.

the woman’s face lights up and falls in such swift motion it is hard to tell which comes first - the recognition or the sorrow. but they’re both there, clear and present. “Dad died almost twenty years ago,” she says. “But if it helps, I have a positronic clone of his brain.”

Sarge starts laughing; she doesn’t mean to, but the way the woman - Soji - says it, so matter-of-fact, so frank...she stops herself before it’s rude, but Soji’s laughing too. “Sorry, I -”

“No, don’t - how do you - how did you know Dad? Come on, come with me -”

“What happened? I didn’t know him for long, I barely remembered him, but I knew he existed -”

“That’s a long story. Do you want to meet the crew?”

Soji reaches for her hand, and with a feeling of mechanisms interlocking as they properly should, she takes it. they start walking. “Oh.” She’s almost forgotten. “If...if he’s not around to take it back, then this might belong to you.” She reaches in her pocket and holds it out: a small, ceramic singing bird.)

Summary: Request - Omg what if stark!reader got invited to a really important event like the met gala or something and brings Peter (her crush) as her date? 

Ngl, I forgot about the crush think while writing this so, they’re dating in this lmaoo sorry

Warnings: cussing maybe, sexual undertones (I might need to do a smut blurb night type of thing if people start sending me requests bc I have some pent up stuff ngl), probably some mistakes

The Met Gala. Such a fancy event. One that your father refuses to go to because the celebrities there only want to be friends so that they'll have security. He refuses to be friends with any of them just to be used for safety purposes. So, he's always putting their offers down. Since they can't seem to get the older Stark, they've resorted to inviting the younger of the two Starks. His very own daughter, and actress, Y/N Stark.

"No, you're not going. They only want you to go because I keep saying no. I've made my donation, their exchange with the Stark name is done," Tony rants as he sees the very formal looking envelope from one of the many sponsors. You roll your eyes and set the envelope down on one of the workbenches.

"Come on, dad. I have nothing to offer them in terms of security! Plus, I'm an actress, so maybe they want to invite me for my work?"

Tony sighs and shakes his head. As much as he doesn't want to agree, he can't exactly deny either. You don't have powers or some kickass suit. You just have basic training from Nat, a phone full of contacts, and money. So, realistically, you don't have much to offer besides great conversation, acting skills, and enough arrogance to prove you're a Stark. Plus, he trusts nothing will happen. Nothing usually happens.

"Fine, you can go to the stupid event. Just make sure to not whore the Avengers out to Rihanna or something," Tony says loudly as you walk out the lab. However, you take the moment to respond before leaving.

"The only person getting whored out to Rihanna is me."

Now, it's the day of the Gala. You're in your room, sitting at your vanity in just a towel and looking over at all your makeup. Peter texts you that he's coming over in a few minutes, and while the idea of him walking in on you is pretty bad, you could not be bothered to actually get up and put on some clothes. You just wanna chill for a few minutes. So, you sit back and continue picking out all the makeup necessities you'll need for your look while singing to some Ariana Grande song. Suddenly, there's a knock on the door.

"Can I come in?" the person -so obviously Peter- asks from the other side of the door. You shrug and respond with a 'sure, come in'. When he does come in, he jumps and stutters as he notices you're in only a towel. A giggle pushes past your lips as you turn to look at him.

"Don't be startled, Parker. This isn't your first time seeing me naked," you flirt. Peter rolls his eyes as he throws himself onto your bed, right next to the large bag he'd laid out on the mattress. You turn back around and put away the items you knew you would not need. All the while, Peter scrolls through his phone.

After a few minutes of just listening to music, Peter sits up, looking over at you. "So, the Met Gala? Are you sure you want me to go?"

Another giggle escapes your lips as you stand up. He watches as you walk over to him. He slowly becomes nervous as you rest your hands on his shoulders. You stand between his legs and press a kiss to his cheek.

"Of course I want you to go with me. I'd rather you go with me than anyone else. I trust you to make things fun," you tell him as you grab his chin, making him look up at you. His slight frown turns into a full-on grin and you can't help but wanna kiss him over and over again. He leans up and presses his lips to yours. You move closer to him and when his hands feel the thin cloth covering you, his eyes go wide and he stops.

"We should probably stop before I get even more excited. Because then I really won't wanna go," Peter jokes as he stands up. You giggle at his sudden nervousness. He smiles as he moves to the en suite restroom, mentioning something about a shower.

When Peter comes back out, he sees you're in some panties and in a strapless bra. You have your hair done and you're finishing up your makeup, adding on some nudish-pink lipstick. You stand up and walk over to your closet and grab the hanger with a bag over it. Peter walked out with his hair already slicked back, smelling like his cologne which you loved so much. He has on some boxers and some socks on. You also have a pair of black heels in your arm. You set the heels on your bed and open up the hanger with the dress in it.

The dress is a long, rose-gold gown. It has a long train, extending for a good five feet. The bust is covered in diamond sequins and the dress is pretty form fitting. After a good few minutes of getting the dress on -who needs stylists?- you turn to Peter to ask for help. However, when you look at him, you see him putting on the jacket to his suit. It's an all-black suit and it fits perfectly tight on him. You're almost breathless as you look at him.

"Holy fuck," you say breathlessly. Yeah, Peter's a real cutie, and you've seen him in some sexy outfits, but this. This is next level. This is the type of Peter that could boss you around -because quite frankly, you don't like being bossed around- and you'd have no problem getting on your knees for. When Peter looks up at you, he begins to blush. He takes notice of your stunned expression and then his breath is taken away when he looks at you in the dress. Neither of you are completely dressed and you're already wanting to undress each other. You both have too much power at once. "C-can you zip me up?"

After a half hour of helping each other get ready and making out, you take note of the time, seeing it's already 6:30. The red carpet starts at 7:00, so leaving five minutes ago would've been a good idea. You call for Happy and once in the car, he speeds off towards the event venue.

Upon arrival, you see so many artists. So many musicians, actors, business owners, fashion designers. Peter is left stunned by all the big names in the room, leading to the red carpet. At some point, you have to remind Peter that half of those people don't even care to be there, so just chill. So instead of him freaking out over everyone, he stayed close by and held on to you. Maybe it was so he could make himself look cooler, but he's literally Spider-Man and he's already cool as is, it's just too bad nobody knows.

"I'm gonna say it this one time, but I'd suck Shawn Mendes' dick," Peter tells you as you both see him up ahead the red carpet. You nod eagerly in agreement. Peter laughs at your eagerness.

"Vanessa Hudgens, couple feet up. If she had a dick, I'm sure it would be colossal," you tell him. Vanessa Hudgens is a beautiful person and you have a huge crush on her. Peter agrees, commenting that she looks cute. Suddenly, a woman is calling you over, so you drag Peter over to where the woman stands in front of a man holding a camera.

"Now we're here with Y/N Stark, actress, and daughter of Tony Stark," the woman says. You smile and shake the woman's hand as she looks over at Peter. "Who do you have with you here?"

"This is my boyfriend, Peter," you say as the camera pans over to Peter, who shyly waves at the camera.

"How adorable. Now may I say, you both look absolutely amazing. How are you feeling tonight?" the woman asks.

"Totally nervous," Peter accidentally too loud. His eyes go wide and cheeks go red when he realizes the microphone picked that up and that the question was meant for Y/N and not him. There he goes, making it about him.

You giggle as you gently squeeze Peter's hand. "Yeah, like he said, totally nervous. This is my first big event like this. The only red carpets I go to are movie premiers or my father's expo, so I'm not totally surrounded by such big names often. It's wild."

"Now, how did Peter know you before getting together?" the woman asks. Your relationship with Peter was public for sure, but nobody really knew who Peter was. They just know you have a boyfriend and that's about it.

"We'd gone to school together and then he became an intern for my dad, so we spent a lot of time around each other."

After a final question, you and Peter go back to the carpet where you both get tons of pictures taken of you. After a few boring pictures, you and Peter decided to have fun with it. So, for each photographer, you'd take one normal picture and the rest would be the two of you making dumb poses. It started with it looking like you and Peter we arguing, followed by one where it looked like you were punching Peter, even one where you hold bunny ears up to Peter's head. Some of the photographers had fun with it, others seemed annoyed by it, but neither of you cared. You mostly did it to calm Peter's nerves and it really got him out of his shell.

"So I wanna play a game with you guys," some guy interviewing you asks.

"Sure thing, we love games!" you say.

"Alright. Fuck, Marry, kill. And the three names are Shawn Mendes, Ed Sheeran, and Drake."

Peter sighs and you do too.

"Okay, fuck Ed, but the room would have to be pitch black," you say, causing Peter to giggle. However, he nods and ultimately agrees with you. "I speak for the both of us on this one, but Marry Shawn Mendes, that man is beautiful and we're both crushing on him,"  you say. Peter lets out a groan in agreement as he says yes. "And then kill Drake."

"Had that one prepared, huh? How about Ariana Grande, Vanessa Hudgens, and Selena Gomez?"

"Fuck Ari because she's hot and awesome, marry Vanessa Hudgens and kill Selena Gomez," you say.

"I'd have to switch and say fuck Vanessa, marry Ariana, but I'd still kill Selena," Peter says. You nod, giggling at the end.

"Final round, Avengers edition. Thor, Black Widow, and Captain America."

"Fuck Thor, marry Thor, and kill none of them," Peter says loudly, proudly, and excitedly. The fact that he was so quick to answer, so sure of it made you cackle.

"I couldn't pick any of them, they're like my family. As a kid when they started coming around, though, I probably would've said marry Thor, fuck Nat, and kill Steve."  

After that, you continue through the red carpet, ruining more pictures. People started to walk with you and Peter as well. You'd walked with Rihanna for a few minutes, joined Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid for a few minutes and any other model, actor, or musician who would randomly walk up to you. Most of them seemed to be genuine in their intents, but there was always that one person to ask about your father, so you had to quickly shut them down. In the end, you and Peter finally reach the Metropolitan Museum and in there, the two of you walk around and laugh at the art.

Soon, the night comes to an end, and you call Happy to pick you up, asking him to make a stop at the nearest McDonald's. He obliges, despite not wanting to. Once you reach the tower, you head up to your bedroom, Peter in tow with the food in hand. It wasn't too long after eating the two of you fell asleep, any plans to tear each other's clothes off each other long forgotten.

they’ve had a little scientist’s/engineer’s instincts from a young age! they’ve always been very smart and had a good eye for figuring out how systems and mechanical things function, through observation and taking them apart

this is so vague but like. a lot of magitech stuff? and robot fighting when they were in school. and as a kid a lot of running around in nature, exploring and observing and messing with everything. 

3. what abilities do they have that they’ve worked for?

they have a natural knack for it, but all their knowledge of robotics, magic, and nature is stuff they took upon themself to study

they’re not terrible athletic, and they really havent put much effort into developing people skills.

they can sleep anywhere and tend to either splay out with limbs everywhere or curl up tight around a pillow

hang out at home, read some books, eat their childhood favorites, and hang out with their parents, maybe fuck around out in nature for a bit

this chicken and vegetable soup that their dad would make for them when they were sick, it’s heavy and comforting and magically makes them feel a little bit better

their parents, but in different ways– their mom does more of the physical ‘taking care of them’ stuff when comforting, and their dad gets more into the emotional comfort stuff

D: Decoration1. how would they decorate a house if they had one under their name?

they do have a house! although it’s also first and foremost a lab, but that’s pretty on brand for them anyway. it’s a lot of tools and practical stuff, and a lot of the furniture is based off of personal comfort or use rather than style. for decoration though there’s some blueprints and pictures pasted to the walls. the colors in general are warmer ones, and the place overall gives the impression of not being necessarily Nice but comfortable and lived in. it’s very much Lael’s Space

2. how would they decorate their child’s room?

they. would not have children. 

3. how do they decorate their own room?

same with the house– very comfortable and useful, pictures and diagrams pasted on the walls, and lots of space for books and knick-knacks along with work room

they have sort of a Style but it’s also pretty chill and comfortable, made to be moving around in their workroom or working outdoors. lots of basic light-weight short sleeve shirts or button-ups, pants w lots of pocket space, overalls, tool belts, etc. if they dress fancier it’s pretty basic and streamlined, look-wise, nothing very flashy or fancy unless it’s the holidays and someone makes them.

not at all, that’s a lot of extraneous effort they’re not willing to put in, esp since they dont necessarily see a lot of other people regularly

pretty much, yeah. lael doesn’t see the point in trying to put on a nice face for anyone else. they’re a little softer than they appear on the outside tho.

they dont care much about the norm, but they’ll go along with some stuff for the sake if it being easier (although it’s not common for them). they always tend to grate against norms a little bit in general tho

do their own thing. they’ve always been something of an outsider, even in their own community, so they don’t see the value in trying to follow what others are doing.

the internet doesnt exist but. no. they dont really follow fads or trends outside of their own fields, where they keep up with trends but ultimately follow their own ideas.

i figured if i was gonna play a character in a magitech universe i wanted them to be related to that in some way. basically they were created with the idea of “i want to play a character with a robot arm” and literally their entire backstory and personality is descended from that fact. 

the other thing is that i was learning about biomimicry-technology in german class and i thought it’d be cool to have an engineer character that very much loved and was influenced by nature

oh i first thought that their personality would be more stoic and distant, but in reality the most core thing about their personality is how fucking passionate they are about things

4. do you enjoy writing them more than other characters?

again, i dont really love playing one character more than others, i just love them for different reasons! but lael is particularly fun to play because it’s fun to not worry much about coming off as “nice” to others, and also I Love Magic. it’s also fun to play someone so passionate about their studies and work bc i can channel myself into that!

Car Insurance Claim Help? On the 4/7/2011 I was at a set of traffic lights that was (RED) of my way to the shops. As the lights went green I begin to move off slowly as I did another car came from the left of me and tried to turn right as he speed up he crashed into the drivers side of the car. He clearly jumped a red light (Clearly Seen on CCTV). I was in total shock at the time! After he crashed into my car he went to drive off by reversing, I jumped out of my car to stood in his was so he could not drive off the witness behind me called the police while I was stopping his from driving off he started to drive forwards trying to me me out the way. After the driver spoke to the police on the phone, he then gave me his Name, Phone number and Insurance information. The next day I called my insurance company they was vary helpful and I believe the clam would be settled in my favor as I had CCTV of the crash as I had a camera inside of my car and a witness that was behind my car at the time of the crash. After nearly 4Months I have now revived a letter stating that the claim has been closed on a Without Prejudice Basis. When I contacted Aviva to see what the 3rd party has not accepted full liability they said it was dealt with like this as the 3rd party who crashed into me was not responding to and calls or letters that have send him. Aviva did not asked to see the CCTV of the crash and did not take into account the witness statement. WHAT CAN I DOOO??""
