I'm just.... Kind of tired of like a ton of fantasy worlds having like the gods are bad, every church is corrupt, faith means you're dumb and gullible plots. Like regardless of a ton of authors and such refusing to engage with how polytheism differs meaningfully from like... The fucking Catholic church.. it's just such a dismal way to think about things. Like I like fantasy for the hope and the sense of wonder and such..

#idk been feeling this lately #i hate the Cr 3 plotline eith the gods #reddit atheists version of a gotcha #they dont help eith everything so ehy not die!#not how fucking polytheistic systems work i will hit oeople with my classics degrees #idk I grew up catholic #i totally suffered from it #ive been doinf a ton of reading of fundies recently #but if people cant realize that that is not how every system works #and that faith can be deeply meaningul #BRO #I love my religious dnd characters #im not particularly faithful but its fun to put myself in those shoes #and it usually ends up meaning a lot to me #there are totally meaningul ways to have corrupt religon plots #and i like those too #but its very clear when aomeone is dojng it poorly #okay why should i hate the gods #cause from where im sitting the prime deities have done nothing wrong
