The old weathervane above the dilapidated barn groaned outside your window, spinning forcefully with the gusting wind. The creaking sound was an unsettling reminder of the terrible shrieking you’d tried to put out of your mind. Removing the tattered gloves you wore and rubbing your hands together for warmth, you attempted to think of anything else. Closing your eyes tightly, you envisioned a crackling fire and hot tea with honey. Although you were good at imagining the things you’d come to live without, tonight was different. You couldn’t keep the fear at bay no matter how hard you tried, receiving no comfort from the cozy memories that usually calmed you.

A familiar tightness in your chest returned as you wondered how much longer you’d have to live like this, running from the infected and making a home wherever you found shelter. As you counted the days you'd already been looking for your family, your future unraveled before you along with any remaining fortitude. You looked around the weathered farmhouse where you found yourself tonight and wondered who had once called this place home. You shivered as you thought of those who were surely dead by now, allowing you to occupy their space because they no longer had need of it. The crushing guilt pressed into you until you felt suffocated by it.

Stop it, stop it! you chided yourself, banging your head against the peeling wallpaper. Get it together! you thought as you dug your heels into the floorboards, every muscle in your body tense as your stomach churned. You tried to stay strong and remember why you and Joel were still searching after all this time, but you couldn't concentrate. You began to shake as your worst fears replayed in your mind on constant loop and you couldn’t end it. The fit overtook you more quickly than usual, rapid breathing turning to dangerously shallow hyperventilation in seconds as the terror consumed you.

The sound of heavy footsteps outside your door had your heart racing even faster in seconds, threatening to tear from your chest. Your eyes darted up in time to glimpse Joel’s boots by the dilapidated wooden door and soon you spotted his jeans, moving toward you in a blur. The room began to spin as you heard the distant thud of his rucksack hitting the floor. “Y/n, it’s gonna be alright, I’m comin’” Joel called out, crossing the floor in long purposeful strides to reach you as quickly as possibly. He knew the signs of your panic attacks well by now. You were too dizzy to comprehend his words, only feeling the warmth of his hand on your cheek at first, bringing you around. His brown eyes studied you with deep concern. You hadn't been this bad since the night you met.

A year ago, he found you hidden away, clutching an old hunting knife of your father's. Separated from your family during evacuation, you were unsure how to navigate this new world, let alone an attack by several infected. He’d gotten to you just in time to save your life, but your conscious mind had slipped below the surface where he couldn't reach you. It wasn't until hours later through his calm demeanor and gentle voice that he was able to pry the weapon away. He held your hand, promising not to leave you, until you felt steady enough to tell him your name.

Taking up a place behind you now, Joel promised, “Nobody’s here but us, babygirl. You’re safe with me. I got you." He cradled your back to his front, legs and arms bracketing yours, securely holding you in place. Without the need for words, you felt his chest rise and fall against your back, urging you to adopt a similar rhythm for yourself. You leaned your head back against his shoulder, wanting the spinning to end. “It won’t stop, It won’t stop,” you panted, desperately clutching onto his hands, fingernails digging into his skin. Joel wished you never had to suffer like this again. He would have done anything to take the feeling of powerlessness from you.

“I got you. You're safe. I’m here no matter what, okay?” you heard him say in a soothing monotone, the rumble of his deep voice reverberating through you as you felt his beard rub against the top of your head. After a few mintutes, your heartbeat slowed it's pace. As the relief began to wash over you, the waiting tears silently escaped your lash line and slid down your cheeks.

Pulling away to search your eyes for understanding, Joel rubbed your arm gently asking, “Can you tell me what happened?”

You shook your head, unable to put your finger on what had triggered you. “Okay, we don’t have to talk about it now,” he said, wiping the tears away with the pad of his thumb. “You should try to get some rest though. You wanna lie down for a little while?” he suggested. You nodded as you clung to his jacket. He slowly lowered you both to the ground, wrapping his arm around you so still felt connected to him. You breathed in the familiar scent of him as he stroked your hair gently. “I'm sorry,” you said, sniffling. 

“Shhh, you don’t have to do that,” he reminded you. No matter how much you apologized, Joel  told you you weren’t a burden and that knowledge made you feel secure with him, knowing that you didn’t owe him anything in return for his kindness. 

“Joel?” you asked in a shaky voice.

“Hmmm?” he grunted.

“Do you ever wish you were on your own?” you asked hesitantly. 

You felt his body go rigid for a moment. “What are you talkin’ about?” he asked, voice suddenly turning harsh. 

You slowly turned to look at him, noticing the deep furrow in his brow as he studied you. “I…I just thought…well...we might go our separate ways in the spring,” you stuttered, trying not to explain your feelings about how much better Joel might be without you. He must have thought it before, the freedom he'd have by himself with no one to care for or defend. If you said it first, maybe he wouldn’t have to propose the same plan to you one day when it all got to be too much for him.

You watched Joel’s face fall, a pained look of hurt and confusion settling over his handsome features. He cupped your face in his large, rough hands, staring into your eyes for a moment before he finally spoke. “Don’t you understand? I wouldn’t have been able to go on all this time without you. You’re the reason I’m still standin’, darlin’. I need you,” he confessed, voice barely above a whisper.  His thumb stroked your cheek gently as he added, “Remember what I told you the first night we met?”

Tears clouded your vision as he spoke those words to you. You nodded, thinking back to that fateful night. You laced your fingers through his as you answered with the words you’d never forget, “We’re in this together.”

"Hey, Taki," you said, gently shaking his sleeping body. No response. "Taki!" you called again, but still, no answer. Feeling a bit frustrated, you sighed heavily and settled on the floor. It was almost midnight, just 10 minutes until the new year. Your plan was simple: spend New Year's Eve with your closest friend. Nothing extravagant, just sipping drinks, watching countdown shows, and solving puzzles together. But Taki, not good with alcohol, had dozed off on your sofa, disregarding the fun night you had envisioned.

"I should've just stayed alone tonight," you teased, lightly tapping his head, eliciting a grunt from him.

"But you don't like being alone on nights like this," Taki mumbled sleepily.

"Exactly why you should wake up now! It's almost New Year's!" you urged.

"I'm not going to," he replied with closed eyes, still fighting his drowsiness. "Is the puzzle really that tough? It's been what, 2 hours? 3 hours? I've lost track, and you're still not done?"

"It's a 1000-pieces puzzle, remember?" you teased, rolling your eyes. "And we were supposed to do it together."

He muttered an apology, turning towards you. "How long until New Year's?"

"Well now… just 6 minutes left," you replied.

"6 minutes?!" he groaned, finally sitting up, eyes still half-closed.

"Well, you knocked yourself out with that whole bottle of wine," you sighed, noticing he was still a bit tipsy.

"Is it hard?" he asked, eyes still closed. You just hummed in response, but he kept repeating the question until you asked him to stop. Then, unexpectedly, he posed another question.

"Want to know what's harder than those puzzles?" he asked, waiting for your response.

"What?" you hummed back.

He took a deep breath. "It's hard for me to see how oblivious you are of my feelings. I've been in love with you for so long, how can't you see that? Can't you give me a chance, just once? I'm tired of seeing those jerks treating you poorly."

His confession made you finally look directly at him. He was gazing straight into your eyes, his sincerity evident despite his inebriated state. "Taki, you're drunk," you sighed.

"Drunk words are sober thoughts," he said softly.

You looked away, contemplating his words that echoed in your mind. Taki had just confessed his feelings for you. Yet, you were uncertain if it was genuine or merely fueled by alcohol-induced bravado.

The TV blared louder, signaling the imminent arrival of the new year with just one more minute remaining. But you were lost in your thoughts, the noise of the countdown fading away, you could only replay his words, "I've always been in love with you." You knew deep down that you felt the same about him. Yet, his actions had often been puzzling, leaving you unsure about his true feelings. The friendship between you both made everything more complicated. You feared that one wrong move might alter everything between you.

As the countdown commenced, with ten seconds remaining, your mind raced.

Fireworks burst in the sky, the host cheered, announcing the arrival of the new year. In that instant, your attention returned to Taki. "Taki—" you began, but before you could finish, he surprised you by kissing you suddenly.

"I'm sorry," he murmured, pulling away, "I couldn't hold it in any longer. I truly love you," he continued, settling back onto the sofa. "Please, go out with me," he whispered before drifting back to sleep.

You smiled softly, observing Taki peacefully asleep. Carefully tucking him in with blankets, ensuring he stayed warm, you spoke gently, "Taki, I like you too, but you're drunk right now. We'll talk more tomorrow morning." Running your fingers through his hair, you wished him, "Happy New Year," planting a gentle kiss on his forehead.

TOS Replay Stray Thoughts #3 (Palmacosta Pt. 1)

-lol I never read the chalkboard signs at the Palmacosta Academy. "Today's Recommendation: Today is just no good"

-It's interesting Genis's theme only ever plays in sidequests...and like two times at that. You could say "Secret from the blue sky" is his serious theme.

-I think Lloyd's "If one sword has a power of 100, then using two will make it 200, right?" logic could've been really funny if it was voiced. Imagine Kratos's exasperation.

-There's a wide imbalance of unvoiced scenes, isn't there? You'd tihnk this wouldn't be a big deal, but at the same time...

A) Even with the use of cel-shading, Tales of Symphonia already looked dated by 2003/2004 standards and the limited animations/pantomiming can't carry themselves without the ranged emotions of voiced dialogue doing the heavy lifting.

B) Whether it's the localization or the original script (maybe both), there's a distinct discrepancy in writing quality between both -- not that the ENG voiced scenes don't have their issues with wordiness/delivery, but the silent scenes slip into basic/juvenile dialogue more often than not. Perhaps because the scriptwriters knew the actors wouldn't be saying unnatural dialogue out loud?

-Again, I'm not the biggest fan of Colette's ditziness even if makes sense thematically (she's lived a very sheltered life raised on nothing but religious propaganda, so it's hardly surprising common knowledge flies over her head), but I find her approach to Sheena very endearing -- she knows her heart isn't into it and wants to know what makes her tick. Lloyd's exasperated, sure, but it's clear he senses the same and I like to think that scene at the House of Salvation is him following Colette's example.

(Going back to femslash, it's very fun to imagine Sheena being disarmed by Colette's sunshine disposition -- to her assassin, of all people! -- to the extent she grows a crush. I'm so attached to Colloyd that pairing them with anyone else feels like cheating, but that may be one I'd like to give a shot.)

-While we're on the topic of the House of Salvation, love the dude who freaks out over Lloyd having the same hairstyle LOL. Little details like this make TOS the best.

-"Are the things lying here things that people don't want anymore?"

...is Koton that bad at preserving his collection? Or do people just toss shit onto his lawn outta spite?

-...you know, while the "Raine smacking Genis" scenes are still funny, I dunno if they'd fly today. I often envision what a Tales of Symphonia remake would be like and while that'd be an acceptable omission, in considering everything from the bloated, protracted trials and tribulations of modern game development to each successive TOS remaster being worse than the last, I only foresee a monkey's paw just waiting to curl its cruel fingers.

yeah whatever let me sleep at the inn kthx -Everything about that Magnius scene is just silly. The dude just strutting onto the scene with his mega-cartoonish dreads, the guy standing there spouting exposition while Magnius marches towards him, his crushed neck emitting the tinniest "crushed can" sound effect possible, the rock-throwing kid fleeing by just casually walking away, the first appearance of the out-of-place cutscene Demon Fang...it's a lot.

-"You! You're wanted criminal #0074...Lloyd Irving!"

Hmm, just 73? You'd think more people would run afoul of the Desians' totalitarian rule. Sure, Palmacosta has that Dorr conspiracy going on, and most other towns seem to know to keep their heads down, but how callous they are I'd imagine they're not above "framing" innocent civilians for made-up crimes. At any rate, I wanna know what their story is. (Psst, fanfic peeps -- that's your time to shine!)

author’s note: thank you to the scumbag that is my ex-boyfriend for the inspiration, again. you’re truly full of surprises. also, i received a bunch of messages with ideas for a “sequel” which i was against until this sh*t happened. i’m sorry for making Bucky suffer, and for ignoring all ideas of “happy endings”, but i do promise to make it up with a fluffy fic sometime soon. anyway, much love to all the beautiful babes who ever had their hearts broken!

She could remember running her eyes over the words again and again as if the letters would somehow rearrange themselves once she memorized every curve of the ink set deep within the layers of the glittering white paper that was Bucky's and Mila’s wedding invitation.

HAPPILY EVER AFTER

James & Mila — 2022.06.11. The ceremony starts at 4PM.

Lake Shore Drive, Lake George NY 12845

There was no reason, other than pettiness, and perhaps jealously too, for Mila to send y/n an invitation to their wedding. The girl couldn’t think of a single, sane reason she had decided to attend it either, but there she was, standing in the backless, silk dress Bucky had bought as a gift for their first anniversary, solely because emerald green was his favorite color, and he thought it suited y/n’s skin like no other color could.

She didn’t spot Bucky in the crowd of people that filled the dimly lit venue. A flash of white though, a color she dreaded all night to notice as y/n couldn’t envision attending the ceremony, caught her eye — Mila ran a perfectly manicured hand over her swollen belly, smiling at some people y/n didn’t care too much about recognizing.

The universe had a funny way of putting things in order. Less than a year ago, y/n called Bucky Barnes her boyfriend, and now he was a married man with a child on the way. What is meant for you will find you, Wanda’s words replayed in her mind, what is meant for you will stay. The girl had a hard time wrapping her head around the fact that James Buchanan Barnes was not the person meant for y/n to love and cherish ‘till the end of the line. The person that is truly destined to be a permanent part of your life will fight for you because they can’t imagine a day without you. A fish can’t live without water, can it? She had been struggling to keep her head above the water for a while now; gasping for air as she waited for Bucky to save her, yet he never did. It’s time to let go of the past. Wanda was right. You won’t get to experience the future otherwise. 

She didn’t realize how much she needed fresh air until her high heels made contact with the hardwood panels of the venue’s upstairs balcony. She ran a hand over the smooth railing, relishing in the crisp scent of pine trees when a sudden realization dawned upon the girl. Her favorite color was no longer green — it was pink now. She’d play The Chain by Fleetwood Mac on repeat instead of Vienna by Billy Joel because Vienna used to be their song, and they no longer existed. Sam had noticed the absence of creamer in y/n’s morning coffees, and Wanda had been surprised by her sudden interest in baking. To James, the wedding was a celebration, to y/n, it was a goodbye; he was a memory, she was a stranger. 

“I must say,” Bucky's voice cut through the suffocatingly heavy and silent night’s air as he emerged into the balcony, “I’m surprised you showed up.” A soft chuckle followed the statement.

Propping her forearms on the railing, y/n leaned against the metal. She thought about throwing a sarcastic remark his way, but there was only one thing on her mind - a question so heavy, y/n couldn’t bear to carry it on her shoulders for a minute longer. “Did you know?”

Did you know? was a question Bucky shouldn’t have hesitated to answer. “Yes.” He sighed, turning his head in her direction. They were the only people occupying the balcony. The full moon cast a cool glow on Bucky’s face, illuminating the same features y/n was once in love with. “I knew Mila was pregnant when we had sex.” 

She nodded but stayed silent because there were no words she could’ve used to express the hurt and betrayal that burned in her heart. I knew Mila was pregnant when we had sex, and yet he lied through his teeth that he loved her.

“Are you mad?” He suddenly asked after a few moments of excruciating silence, keeping his eyes firmly set on y/n. She didn’t dare to meet his gaze.

Considering both a yes and a no, “no,” she hissed.

“No?” Bucky repeated, not caring to disguise the surprise in his tone. 

“No.” This time her voice was much louder as she turned her head in his direction. “Is that a surprise too?”

“Slightly.” He shrugged his shoulders. 

It was her turn to chuckle. Either James Buchanan Barnes had always thought very little of y/n, or he truly didn’t know her anymore — didn’t know her favorite breakfast spot, the car she’d pick for a late-night drive, the fact that she was capable of leaving behind the anger his actions evoked months ago.

“I would’ve done anything for you.” She gripped the railing, staring at the peacefully still lake ahead of them. “I wasn’t too hard to love, James, you’re just a pathetic excuse of a man.” Her voice remained calm, but her tone dripped with poison.

“Doll, let-“ He spoke up, but y/n quickly interjected. 

“Do not call me doll ever again. God, Barnes, have some respect, your pregnant wife might be looking for you this very moment.” She waved a hand in his face when the soldier opened his mouth to speak. “You, I’ll forgive. It’s me, the girl who fell in love with James Barnes in the first place, whom I can’t. Do you know what that’s like? To look in the mirror every morning and see a person you can’t recognize because you don’t remember them being so weak they managed to fall for obvious lies and false promises?” 

“For what it’s worth, you’re not weak if you’ll eventually be able to forgive me.”

“Mmhm.” Her voice was barely a mumble as she rolled her eyes at his mournful tone.

He continued to stare at y/n while she continued staring at the scenery. Shifting in place for a second, as if deciding whether leaving was an option better than lingering around, James came to stand behind y/n. Their hands slightly brushed as he gripped the metal, trapping her between the railing and his chest. He was so close she could feel the intoxicating warmth of his body and smell the remains of that particular cologne she had gifted him two Christmases ago. She thought she was mostly over it, but it was too much, too quickly, and y/n shut her eyes closed to keep herself from crying.

“You didn’t fall for lies, y/n.” James caressed her knuckles with his flesh hand. Her left wrist was no longer adorned with the cheap but sentimental bracelet he got y/n on their first date. The discovery came as an unpleasant surprise. “I couldn’t have dated someone I wasn’t in love with.”

Lies, lies, lies, she thought, but turned around nonetheless, running her fingers along the silhouette of his jawline. “Is that so?” The soft touches of her skin against James’s left a burning trail in their path. “You love Mila? In every sense of the word?” She put heavy emphasis on the word every because they both knew he couldn’t love Mila the way he used to love y/n — at least the way he once pretended to love her. 

“Yes.” James took a bit longer to answer than he wanted to.

“Once a liar, always a liar, huh?” She smiled, finding the reply amusing. “Perhaps both of our memories have been tainted, and,” the girl paused for effect, placing her hands on his shoulder, “there was never an us in the first place.” She ran her fingers over the man’s taunt arm muscles before smiling again. “If our relationship was an illusion, how could I know The Winter Soldier’s definition of genuine love?” 

James had to forcibly swallow as if he was fighting back tears. “What are you talking about?” Her hand wrapped around the soldier’s neck; a warning. “It wasn’t an illusion.” The tremble in his voice was a dead giveaway of the sorrows that burdened his conscience.

“The woman who’s carrying your child,” she addressed Mila without mentioning her name out of spite, “does she know? Does she know that the one and only apology I’ve ever gotten from her husband, he spelled out on my clit?” James averted his gaze, but y/n gripped his chin, forcing the man to look at her. “Has she seen the scar?”

“No.” Bewilderment and shame painted his expression. “I couldn’t tell her.” 

“Oh.” She raised her eyebrows. “Why didn’t you show Mila the scar, Bucky?” False confusion etched its way into her tone. Bucky, he winced at the nickname. Though he was towering over the girl, it was undoubtedly clear who had the upper hand. A tense silence fell between the pair. “A liar and a coward.” She finally chuckled. “That was all you ever were. That is all you ever will be.”

Ducking to escape the confine of his arms, y/n glided to stand in front of James. He didn’t realize how tightly he had been gripping the railing until he was turning around to look at her. Much to his surprise, y/n’s face held no signs of emotions. Instead, it was so eerily blank, her icy stare sent goosebumps down his back. 

"Babe?" A figure emerged from the hallway and into the balcony. "You’ve been gone for a while, and I started getting worried.”

She took a step forward, letting their chest slightly brush against each other, and placed her hands on his shoulders. Just for a split second, y/n was a spitting image of the same girl he had fallen in love with over three years ago — warm, and loving, and as mournful as it was to admit it, almost his. Yet James blinked, and the illusion shattered. For better or for worse, the woman who stood in front of him, James couldn’t recognize. 

"Don't keep Mila waiting," she smiled, gently fixing the collar of his dress shirt, "she's your wife, after all."

Scrunching his eyebrows, James silently pleaded for y/n to stay, whether it'd be for a minute or a lifetime longer. One more chance, y/n, he thought, one more chance is all I need.

"Babe?" 

Sliding her arms down his chest, y/n let them fall to her sides before quickly smoothing her silk dress. "Enjoy the rest of your night, Sergeant." A final goodbye, said without any malice or hurt in y/n's tone as emotion returned to her features. "Captain," she turned around, acknowledging Steve, "care for a drink?"

It was a nightmare for James. The blonde's childish grin, his innocent eyes. The woman wrapping her hand around Steve's bicep while he nodded at Bucky as if to say have fun, pal. James snickered. See you Monday, he thought, silently imitating Steve's stern voice, don't forget to consummate the wedding. 

“Shall we?” Steve’s voice cut through the heavily awkward tension as he addressed y/n. 

She smiled, glancing at James for the last time before her eyes fell back on her boyfriend. "After you, Captain."

The Endless being currently curled up on the couch is quiet, absorbed in his book, only moving to turn pages. Hob leans against the archway to the kitchen, stares at Dream. Lord Morpheus. Prince of Stories, King of Nightmares. The one who made a bet with his Sister that Hob would beg for his mortality back within the century. Hob has never been more pleased to make someone look like a fool.

It’s been over six hundred years since that evening, the one during which Hob drank and boasted and toasted to jobs well done. The night in which he claimed he would never die—and that prophecy came true. It’s a gift given not by a gorgeous devil or devastatingly beautiful fae, as Hob had thought for so long, but by Death Herself.

Hob passed each century that passed doing what he pleased, what made him happy, never once forgetting about his Stranger. Every minute spent in his Stranger’s presence was a balm to wounds he hadn’t known he carried. Every minute was an exquisite torture to view such beauty, unable to touch. To see tears glittering in his Stranger’s eyes when Hob spoke of his ill fortune, his losses, had bolstered Hob’s faith in his Stranger. This meant he was no devil, for though he’d assured Hob he wasn’t, Hob wasn’t so certain. After all, how could his life be endless were it not for a deal with the Devil? His Stranger was no fae, no trickster, no mere statue brought to life.

He could feel, and perhaps it had been pity at Hob’s devastation. But it was enough.

His fuck-up in 1889 nearly cost him everything. All he’d asked for was friendship—all he dared to voice was his Stranger’s need for companionship—and his Stranger had walked away. Hob had gone to bed that night, replaying the moments over and over and desperately envisioning different outcomes. His favourites had been the ones in which his Stranger admitted his loneliness before allowing Hob to take him to bed.

It took a hundred and thirty-three years before his Stranger came back, before his Stranger gave a name and an apology and friendship. Another three years before Hob gained the courage to place his heart in Dream’s hands and received Dream’s in return.

Now seven months have passed, and Hob is more in love than he’s ever been.

“Hey, Dream?”

“Yes?” Dream murmurs without looking away from his book.

“Would you still love me if I were a woman?”

This causes Dream to pause, to raise his head and stare blankly ahead for a moment. He turns his head toward Hob, frowning in a way that clearly spoke of his confusion. He places a bookmark between the pages and sets the book aside.

“I love you more fiercely than I thought possible,” he finally says after a few seconds; his tone is considering, slow and even, and he draws his brows together. “Your form would not matter, not when I know so much of your heart.”

“What if I were deaf or blind?”

“I would still love you.”

“What if I were a worm?”

“A worm. Hob, might I ask where this is going?”

Hob huffs out a laugh and crosses the room to sit next to Dream. He raises a hand to cup his love’s cheek, pulls Dream closer for a quick kiss.

“What if I had amnesia and lost all my memories, even the ones of you?”

Dream hums quietly and nuzzles into Hob’s throat. His lips brush against skin as he says, “I would spend the rest of our existence reminding you that I, and I alone, am the only one who has ever loved you as I do. Deeply, completely, endlessly. I would prove the extent of my loyalty every second of every day. Even if you never remember, Hob… It would never change my love for you.”

Hob draws in a quivering breath before tugging Dream in for another kiss.

“And Hob?” Dream whispers when they finally part. “I would still love you as a worm.”

This has been stuck in my head ever since I wrote WDS chapter 3 all those weeks ago (and perhaps the religion shoved down my throat at a young age is being resurfaced as I volunteer at a church I grew up with) but the scene where F!Leonardo is reaching for Little Blue in pure desperation always played in my head as a more dramatic/angsty rendition of the Michelangelo painting: The Creation of Adam.

With a more somber, depression palette of colors, little Blue is Adam and God is F!Leo. (The scenery is of course, replaced with the emptiness of the prison dimension.)

The orange, glowing flame of little Orange’s portal illuminating F!Leo’s back like the heavens themselves are opening for the pair.

Leonardo reaches for the young slider’s hand, desperate to wrap his fingers around the younger’s and pull back to safety. He’s so close and yet so far, his fingers graze the air just before Blue’s fingers. His mind is racing, replaying all the times he was too late—all the times he had failed. Seeing the teen’s eyes widen with fear–the eyes that stare back at him–hoping that he will be able to latch onto the younger and save him.

For a split second, he sees Casey on that very day he lost his arm. He sees those same eyes that call out to him—cry for his help. He sees a boy—just a kid—too young to be in this type of danger. A boy who is too young to bear witness to this nightmarish hell of a situation.

I have to save him, he’s only a child.

But starkly contrasts the impending doom of the darkness within the prison dimension as Krang’s tentacle coils around Blue’s outreached hand.

But he’s not fast enough. He’s not strong enough. Even with his 20 years of experience, he’s still not enough. And he can only watch as his last shred of hope shattered to pieces as Krang Prime’s tendril shoots from behind the younger and coils around the younger’s arm.

Leonardo hears a silent crack followed by a symphony of smaller cracks. The sound is followed by the haunting reminder of what happened to his own arm. His eyes widen and his heart drops as he can only watch in painful slow motion the world crumbling before him and the younger is pulled back.

“Leonardo!”

The angels are replaced with the colorful array of the future brothers’ ninpo, manifesting as partially F!Leo’s will and desperation and the future brothers’.

He cries out and the dead answer his desperation.

An orange chain extends from his fingertips, bursting with flickering flames that coil around the Krang’s body. It tightens and tightens as smoke rises from Krang’s crackling skin. A red apparition protrudes from his own hand, growing in size and length as it envelops the entirety of the younger slider’s shell. Purple missiles manifest on his carapace, shoot from his back and explode upon reaching the Krang’s body in a blindingly purple fireworks display.

Hopefully this all makes sense, I’m not an artistic person, but that’s kind of how i envisioned the scene when I wrote it. (But get it? The painting signifies the creation of man, but for the krang it’s the destruction of man—eh, whatever that’s a stretch) Maybe now that it’s out in the open it will finally get out of my head hehe.

My Top 15 Kpop Songs of the Year

1. Love Dive- Ive- Like give IVE their tens this was song of the year, mayhaps even song of the decade (getting ahead of myself). The vibes were immaculate and the song is outstanding I even like the dance break which can break a good song if done poorly. 

2. Hype Boy- New Jeans: Like this is really also the song of the year for me, Love Dive triumphs but probably only because it came out earlier. Like this song is immaculate and attention is pretty good too it would be in the 16-20 range of my fave songs of the year.

3. Catch the Star- Woo!ah- They really outdid themselves like this was a masterpiece and such a great way to start the year. I really didn’t think it could be beat for a while and at one point it was higher than Love Dive but its not as replayable as Love Dive. Still a bop tho!

4. DM- Fromis_9- Again the girls were taking no prisoners' at the beginning of the year jan-feb was insane like this is probably my fave fromis_9 song after love bomb of course.

5. Talk that Talk- Twice- Of course the queens had to be here and for their only comeback of the year. Truly I couldn’t have wished for anything more (except a more coherent MV), like the song is good and repayable. They never disappoint and this comeback as well as celebrate was made just so much better by all the members continuing on and re-signing their contract!

6. Smiley- Choi Yena- Another early bop, like it’s so catchy it’s still in my head! Truly a great debut but that’s to be expected from the izone girlies. The only critique is Bibi was so not needed, like it wasn’t bad but Yena defs could cover that part herself and I’m not crazy about a feature being on a debut. And we must thank Yena for holding down yuehua entertainment until everglow come back.

7. Love in Bloom- ILY:1- They are bringing back christian kpop and I have to thank them for it! This song is so refreshing and unique and a bop. The MV and styling were cute and I replayed it so much it just had to make the list. A very solid nugu debut.

8. Run- H1-key- This was the song of the summer for me. It just screams a fun summer like I was a little unsure of the group what with their former members alleged political connections and their debut song but this was spectacular. 

9. Antifragile- Lesserafim- This is probably my most replayed song of the year which is crazy because it literally came out a few months ago lol. Like this is such a good song to workout to they really served. I was worried what they would do post garam kick out and with the success of new jeans it was looking a bit grim for them but they came back swinging. Also their performances are so good and Yunjin I find genuinely funny which is rare in an idol, like they’ve been added to my faves list.

10. Rollarcoaster- Woo!ah- Yep Woo!ah made the list twice and if we extended the list to 20 entries they would make it thrice. Woo!ah had a great year with a comeback at the beginning middle and end of the year all of which were really strong but starting with Catch the Stars and ending with Rollarcoaster is insane like their producer is a genius. I envision this will climb the rankings but since it came later it’s at number 10.

11. Flip That- Loona- I started writing this before the Chuu situation and the potential exodus of the Loona members and man am I bummed out now. The song is good and everything I wanted after the girl crush mess I’ve been force fed for the past two years. Like just a nice chill song for the summer, not their best but super refreshing. (BUT, everyone needs to boycott bbc and not listen on streaming sites and don’t watch their new comeback or interact with the teasers.)

12. After Like- Ive- They also made the list twice this song was a bit boring to me at first but on a second listen its an earworm. Whoever is producing these Ive tracks starship needs to pay them more cause they are excellent.

13. Loveticon- CSR- Giving Christian Kpop Horsegirl vibes as my one anon put it and we need to bring the genre back so I’m glad they’re helping. Ever since gfriend pivoted to whatever apple was the genre has been left behind and its revival and CSR and ILY:1 can do it! Weird group names tho.

14. Higher- Fifty Fifty- this group has a decent concept and I really like that they sing a majority of the chorus and songs together as opposed to in segments like it makes them unique in kpop. A nice chill jam with good vocals what more could anyone else want.

It’s Just Like an Opinion, Man

I had to take a couple of days to write another blog but it has been hard to kind of structure it, especially when nonstop discourse is coming out and it is all forming into something really combustible, like the world already has been combusting the last decade on an insane level. Hopefully I can structure this shit better otherwise I will come back days later and do a better draft, I wouldn’t even say a final draft because I don’t think with me there is ever a fucking final draft. I am clearly not as smart as all the experts which already take my perception down a couple of notches, then add the mental illness in my head, the accumulation of all the trauma in my head that replays constantly and then envisioning what will happen in the future. And I feel like even though I am no longer as relevant as I used to be, that there is still a target on my back, because it would be one thing if I was conspiratorial in the modern typical way where my politics take me more to the right wing and since I was cookie cutter conspiratorial in the 2010’s and falling for every type of story of censorship because it was only talked about online, giving me the illusion that nothing online could ever be funded or amplified and the establishment making mention of it would result in getting reduced to fucked up people making random rumors because they have no lives, and not because establishment like people didn’t believe in the conspiracies, they knew the ones making their name off of it were going to be problematic people, but 10 years ago, the MSM telling me not to trust Alex Jones would not mean shit to me because I know they have lied about shit, and Alex seemingly was the only one talking about the shit that was being talked out, there were others and better but Alex purposefully got the main event push, so if I still believed in cookie cutter conspiracies like I did in 2010, I would be embracing the current narratives that are becoming mainstream and all MSM have to do is play the WWE role, where you will instantly get credibility if you shit on them and think no one else is doing it. Everyone is doing it, everyone has been doing it, but what was valuable in the 2010’s is not valuable in 2023. Anyone can claim they are anti war or they are being critical of the system, while also normalizing other shitty people who are currently aligning with very dangerous far right wing elements, while limiting the narrative and dumbing down the villains while still getting credit for making hacky analysis over the sports entertainment. People who present themselves as progressives and are more concentrated on their comedic banter and their shitty sports entertainment personalities, are the ones who get to claim they are keeping it real and being fair at a time where the far right is trying to take over and knowing that everything on the surface will fall flat on its face, people like TYT can get on the same page with Matt Gaetz because they think he is gonna act in good faith to get inside stock trading done with AOC, if I suspect their goal is to get their fundamentalist takeover and they are getting some credit, and trust me it will probably not go anywhere, but some of the progressives start acting like it is just about the policy issue when they know, in my personal opinion, this is my theory, but they know where the world is going and that is why they are trying to be “fair” to the right wing, when the right wing trajectory system that is in play has always existed, even if in “kayfabe” a democrat is the president, they are gonna have the standard booking a WWE character will have but if you talked about how our world is a lot more organized, then all of a sudden I am the right winger when the people accusing me of that, are the ones who are pivoting there. I should stop watching TYT but it is like WWE to me now, I know it is gonna get worse, and as each day passes, them trying to be fair with right wing people, knowing they are the heels being booked to make better points on some level, while at the same time doing the over the top heel shit that we will all boo. I know when people contact me online because no one can interact with me unless they are permitted, so people will ask me to come on their show, and I see them aligning with very far right wing people and to me that normally hints that people with power are listening to my podcast and reading these blogs. Sometimes I want the blog to be such a mess, it gives the people who hate me a fucking headache reading it. But they need me on a platform with a bigger audience, so it puts more attention on me officially and then they can recreate more of a harassment campaign on me. It is getting to them because they have to pretend they don’t know I write these blogs or do the podcasts but they are getting nervous at me being conspiratorial despite them perpetuating that I am mentally ill which puts me in a position where you don’t take seriously and devalue me because I am not hanging out with other elitists and other cogs who have prostituted their beliefs and principles. People with power can manipulate their audiences to do shit, which is why people like TYT are completely useless with their shit narratives because they will pretend to go at the villains in a dumbed down way but then they say that someone like Tim Pool is not responsible for what has happened, and a lot of pussy entertainers, even the shitty ones in alt media, will downplay the influence knowing that the democratic narrative is designed to fall flat on its face and it is normalizing a white supremacist ideology on a massive level. But when you downplay the people with big platforms and how dangerous they could be, you are already dumbing it down, because it is not just about influencing people, there could be a chance that this mafia system has their problematic people have their cults go out and carry out this shit. Again that is just my theory, all these right wingers can talk about how they think shit is a psyop, and adopt conspiratorial language to facilitate their aspirations for the fundamentalist shit, but when you downplay how everything is aligned and attached to entertainment, it shows me you don’t have any solutions, you will pretend that things have to be done by the books and fighting people with ideas, but a lot of your on surface ideas fucking suck. The world is already not fair and none of these people play by the rules advertised and they are doing the most underhanded shit, but shit heads who are supposed to be better than MSM are the ones tone policing when it comes to protests. Like when places like TYT are normalizing Matt Gaetz and have done several stories that are kind of not disagreeing with DeSantis, and I know to most people who think this is what it is, this is just being fair, but it isn’t really being fair because you would explain the limitations for anything progressive to happen and that a lot of these neoliberals are probably secret far right wing people in my opinion that are making shit so unbearable and address shit in a generalized way that you could justify why DeSantis doing the anti China law is not that bad of an idea, of course someone as cookie cutter as Ana Kasparian would not think there is anything wrong, but there are other laws he is passing but the fact you are doing “I gotta be fair to DeSantis” when there is so much fucking more there that is gonna be evil and you help sensationalize the China thing when it will fuck with regular people etc or the fact that he is asking for proof of rape and incest within 6 weeks, or some other anti immigration shit he is doing this is the story you put out to disagree, and it became obvious when I feel most stories the media in general do is not what it seems as far as how a lot of the viral shit is manufactured or orchestrated but when they bow down to the right wing by retracting a previous story which ended up being “DeSantis derrangment syndrome” when to me that story was designed for it to be a fake story so that right wing people want retraction for it because the rules are catering to them, they are gonna be in this era of them being “proven” right, that is why they are pushing for the trans shooter manifesto to be released because there is something there that will help their cause. I know the left doesn’t want to get conspiratorial and they will make it about just the guns, and guns are very much the issue and the lax gun laws, but if you don’t think the entertainment and media has an effect on dumbed down and brainwashed people you are fucking naive and you have no interest in having a real conversation about shit. When I say entertainment, I am talking about other cogs in the system who are being used as political tools to start a culture war issue that normally helps people become more regressive and then when the lawmakers do some shit, it then helps radicalized types of people act out how they are acting out.  And now a reason why some of these alt media people would be saying shit like “I don’t think someone influential should be held responsible for what is being done” it basically means you know you are gonna be normalizing more propaganda and you don’t want to be held accountable for it and truth if a lot of you who dumbed down Donald Trump and still needed to do a fucking hacky impression of him that all of you have beaten into the fucking ground, you have lowered people’s guard of what is to come but it won’t be matter because these cowards are already protected by their right wing masters. 

It is one of the sickest things on the planet that so much tragedy and chaos is happening and I feel it is being made to fucking happen, and the most we get out of this shit is pretentious sports entertainment where it becomes about the sports entertainment personalities that some of these people promote. I am glad there are people on the left who call out the propaganda on some level, but you know nothing is gonna happen to these people as far as being exposed for their real evil shit just yet but them being in the discourse constantly is just promotion for the future because these figures are gonna be pivotal in the discourse and entertainment. It is moving more to the right wing, and I feel Hollywood has expanded into the real life discourse because our lives are essentially manifested fiction with reality show shit and that is why you are finding out about all these problematic celebrities who want to turn heel and join that side, but then the supposed alt media who are supposed to better than MSM are now chasting people for “canceling” people so it becomes because wokeness has gotten so out of control, and it is a boring trope that is not that fucking entertaining. But people who claim they will keep bringing up the policy issues, most of you know it is not gonna matter because they are planning on complete and utter bedlam, it is already too late and cogs and Arkham Asylum weirdos are being produced to do shit that is happening. So if you have stayed this long with my shitty and unstructured blog long enough, let me get a bit more conspiratorial because this is to counter the right wing’s claims of psyop and why it is a big mistake for people on the “left” to completely diminish the conspiracy in general. And I am telling you this shit is actually gonna help the right wing solidify themselves but most people on the left can’t even think 9/11 was an inside job, they are only permitted to acknowledge the Saudi angle. So why would I expect you to buy into a conspiracy. And my “conspiracy” is not to downplay the severity of white supremacist ideology because no one in the MSM or even the bigger alt media platforms will ever explain how advanced the white supremacy is now. That is why we focus on the aesthetic of the past, because we try to correlate the same aesthetic current but back then in the late 90’s and 2000’s, a lot of us edge lords thought we were better with race, feminism, etc because we are all hanging out and being ignorant because our definition of racism, was the shit that was prevalent in the early 1900’s where there was segregation, and frowning upon interracial relationships, so we didn’t know how to recognize other normalized racism within out entertainment and media discourse, because it was more sophisticated, and now we look back at all the problematic shit from the early 2000’s and 90’s and  pretend like we are better now and there is more advanced ways to execute what they have been doing. People will point out when people joked like edgelords in a more current era and use the age or the year that this happened and act like “How could this happen it is 2016” but the thing is all the problematic and dangerous shit has always found a way to sophisticate itself more by targeting the sensationalist shit to normalize more of the ignorance and now people who are supposed to be the smartest in the room have helped dumb shit down and there are a lot of people who are not really political, they don’t think they are even though the entertainment they consume has politics embedded and they are being manipulated on some level, but there are a lot of people who don’t trust how the world is advertised, they do think shit is fishy and how well shit is organized and orchestrated and that is why conspiracies can always be sold, and since the shitty fucking “progressive” side always snoot their shitty noses at people who think with conspiratorial shit, it has helped people be lured into right wing cults online that are always controlled by feds. Everyone is essentially a government agent and it feels like when the heels are allowed to be horrible, the “good” people are such limited baby faces that people end up thinking the heel is more cool, and apparently being cool is a number one thing for these shit heads who are cogs in the system and they can’t fathom that they are not relevant for 5 minutes and they have to conjure up more chaos that doesn’t solve shit and it fucking makes things work. So in the 2010’s because there was a mindset within conspiratorial thinking that anything the MSM says happened, the automatic response that would get regurgitated is that it didn’t happen, or there would some alt history that they were pumping and because you know the MSM is lying in general, you would tend to disagree, and even when Muslims were being used as fodder so they could justify why you need to watch them more, or we can talk about what the feds have done to black empowerment groups, that history is there where the feds have involvement with shit all the fucking time and when you are under their radar, in my opinion, there is no way you could just get away with doing something if you were not permitted to, and now the right wing are the ones who are calling out the FBI and the intelligence agencies because they are going after Trump on some level, and because there have been other corrupt shit going on in the political world and showbiz world, people focusing on Trump and him seemingly being able to get away with whatever, it has helped his cause, so now the right wing are adopting all the conspiracy language and because there has been a history of people thinking that people have been used by the feds to commit terror, now the far right wing can mention it, and in 2010-2011 Alex Jones, who feels like a completel insider and a fed like person, when he put out that the next common thing that will be promoted in MSM to take away guns are false flag situations etc, and then a lot of them ended up being promoted on another level, where someone like me thinks that there is something to this shit, and I bought into the taking away the guns argument, even though I don’t have guns nor have I ever, when I used to rap, I said I did have one but everyone knows that was bullshit, the attempts to rap and me having a gun, I thought it would bring me credibility but that is another sad story but I bought into that, and thought maybe this shit could be orchestrated, or maybe this stuff could be fake, like I went back and forth with it but then I realized that maybe because these far right wing fundamentalists knew that there would be more people getting some liberal power in the system to advocate against the NRA etc, that these people have created these scenarios to scare people because whenever there are mass shootings, there are gun sale increases. But the right wing gets to cater to the conspiracy theorists, even though the right wing trajectory system are the ones who are organizing it. You can’t say that it is super crazy when you have people who don’t give a shit when they bomb innocent kids overseas and they lock up black kids and try them as adults, or god knows what these people do to the migrants who get detained. You literally have right wingers proclaim that the cost of having guns are the lives that might have to die, but the far right will never think whenever something is done to discredit BLM when there are people invoking their name before they do an attack, and you will never be suspicious about that, and because people on the left are afraid of being conspiratorial, they wouldn’t even bring up how people could be framed to do shit. And because this aesthetic of someone being out in the open with extreme right white supremacy beliefs, it feels way too over the top to seem real, and my take is that these people who are doing these shootings are the system’s sacrificial lambs to act out there shit but they will do it in a way where it looks over the top to most people who don’t believe the government or the media, and if something does come true about the feds organizing this, since the right wing is “opposed” to the FBI, it would make it look like shit is being done to frame them, so then the talking heads can then feel justified in having to fight back, and the progressives who were completely dismissive of a conspiracy at all, will then pivot to the right wing because they will officially change sides but under the guise of them not agreeing with right wing people being framed. You can be a conspiracy theorist and analyst and not have to be a regressive right wing cunt. This is how they will fucking win. Again, just my theory and my opinion. I am not a violent person, nor do I have any weapons. The system already has me monitored. They will eventually have to kill me because they haven’t been able to get me to go the extreme, they sure as hell had influential “leftists” types, who are now embracing the sophisticated right wing help kind manipulate my opinions to some extent, but now when most of them are arguing about who was invited to other post left sports entertainers weddings and all of that shit, it is like all these people have become parodies, it is like when someone who was credible is going to WWE, you hope they maintain their serious push but then they end up doing comedy bits where they are all acting like completely parodies. So while I don’t think this specific Texas shooter was the prime person in this situation even though he carried shit out, I look at the white supremacist elements on a grandview. And yes a minority can buy into white supremacist and fundamentalist shit, these shit head right wingers are complaining about forced diversity but I never seen such forced diversity in this new fundamentalism that is normalizing itself, and because the entertainment world has ties to the government and fundamentalism, these people think they are defeating Hollywood liberals, so they an officially enact their kind of entertainment. These people will talk about mental health and guns, knowing that there is gonna be no solution to it. People talk about it, but you know it is more about shitty republicans pretending that they care but then they ended up taking away more funding for that kind of shit, or the shitty democrats who want to address guns then fucking cave into these republicans, and maybe because this world is moving into a fucking chaotic place, there is clearly white supremacy on a grand level, you literally have all these speaking engagements where people are speaking with white supremacists and anti Semites on their docket, and we still have to keep dumbing it down. Even when you are a token minority to the right wing they will throw you under the bus, this guy in Texas probably did their bidding and then they use a fucking different picture because their racist audiences will blame 2 different people with the same name are the same guy like you are comparing 90’s sitcom characters who would change actors. 

And let’s say there is something fishy about having a post on a random Russian site which I do believe is true but I believe it is so out there, that people are not gonna believe this is real because it is way too over the top, but also when you name different content creators who were influential in this decision, and there is something that proves there was more of a psyop, this shit ends up helping the content creators because now their audience and other people who don’t believe in the MSM system, will then think that Tim Pool and Jimmy Dore are a threat to the system that they have to now be followed. Again I am a conspiratorial person so I don’t believe when a talent has a beef with their company, especially one that has perpetuated racist shit their entire tenure  on the air. They know legacy media is dying so this will help Tucker, they will make it seem like they are smearing him and even though Tucker does tell some truths about the media, people who blindly hate him, will think that is the lie, but that is the dangerous thing because he will be guilty of the same things he says about how the media operates, it is basically MAGA CM Punk movement, if Trump was supposed to be MAGA Steve Austin. And people will say it is impossible because there are real lawsuits etc, but does anyone ever really pay the price, like if Tucker really angered the system, you wouldn’t even know about his troubles at all, he would just be gone from the public sphere, but he has gone on social media and now we have to pretend that is 100 percent genuine. And all these “left” leaning people who used to feud with some of these alt right villains are finding common ground but if you point out they are pivoting to the right wing, they will just say they are being fair in a game that is not fair, people actually think the democrats are scared of a debate, if they really were, you wouldn’t know about it, but this helps them look like losers because they are being booked to fail the people while others will climb up the ranks, it is like whenever anyone points out the obvious booking errors in the world of wrestling and people don’t see how the discourse is now playing out online and that is where the showbiz world and theatrical shit is going. You can’t tell me any different, tell me what people are talking about a week after the tragedies that take place, we are talking about wannabe Howard Stern like people. Tucker Carlson saying intelligences agencies have control of people in congress is kind of a perceived true statement to people, but since you all pretend to hate Tucker, you will say the entire premise is off, but why couldn’t I fucking believe it, I think media people are government agents too, especially Tucker and that whole fucking new right wing crew that are being propped up in the discourse and dominating. They can literally weaponize shit, I see transgender trending on twitter and because the right wing blue checkmark people are dominating it, so now you have a bunch of sensationalist shit to weaponize against trans people, and people don’t think the ones doing it should not face any accountability. Ana Kasparian will give carte blanche to to Tim Pool, Libs of Tiktok after doing stories of their rhetoric causing threats to a children’s hospital, but she has no idea about what to do with the homeless or these “mentally ill criminals” I know I use TYT as a main example, but I really do think they have helped create problematic characters who they had a fake sports entertainment feud with and then at the right time, they will all have mutual meeting spot. These kinds of people would chastise anyone not trusting them and they would use their independent status even though someone like Cenk started in the MSM, no one is allowed to flourish independently if they didn’t have ties to the fucking system. It is bad enough that more and more horrible shit is happening and more people are being targeted and they could lose their lives but the ultimate goal afterwards is to make it about sports entertainment. I think people who want to sell out and go to that side are mad they were not able to radicalize me, in fact none of them would ever specify what was wrong with some of the people I would listen to with political issues, they had a stupid grin like they knew. And now people who wanted to be thought leaders and be influential are mad that people feel disappointed with their bullshit because all they wanted at the end of the day was their own cult, I wouldn’t mind cults if they were used for the sake of good to counter evil, but most people end up becoming the evil and they can’t resist the elitist lifestyle and they can’t even say the words of what they embrace because they have to still maintain they are doing good shit because they talk about the kayfabed issues of the villains they dumb down. Honestly I was better off just buying into the obvious establishment shit, it feels like I wasted the last several years thinking that maybe people who presented themselves as true tellers are more educated than me because they talk about how much smarter they are. I know he is my distant uncle, even though I never met him but because I don’t know everything about politics in other countries, I never know if some of these cult of personalities are genuine, because on the surface I see him being fucked with while the far right wing is kind dominating over there, but does that mean Imran Khan is a genuine good guy because it is impossible to be in politics or be  celeb and everything about you is perfect. I have no idea what to believe because the history of smarter people knowing more ends up backfiring on me because I gravitate to people who might be against the powers that be but then they are aligned with other portions of it. I sit back and I reflect because I think about how easily I could’ve been sucked into this bullshit if I kept falling for more right wing propaganda normalized through entertainment and the online stuff. I could pat myself on the back but it feels like the side I am on mentally feels like it is not gonna be possible to even think this way in the future. I have to fucking see people who normalized the problematic figures and let us know about what evil they have done and years of hyping us up that they will get theirs, you think Trump gives a shit about incriminating himself, but I guess that is how low the bar has to be for this CNN embracing of Trump that we think someone who did horrible things incriminated himself on television like anything has happened from past incriminations. I didn’t intend on writing this long but I am more mad about me not being smart enough from the get, and I feel like no matter what era I am, I am always going to be prone to following for propaganda, and if I keep up my guard then I am the asshole who doesn’t want to believe other viewpoints. How many times do people have to get fucked over before we are gaslit into buying into another shitty pretentious mentally ill public figure that will end up showing who they are and we just repeat it all.

So often we’re caught up in the extra crispy stress of the holidays and beyond.  It is a strange time, I think everyone can agree on that!  But often the soundless butterfly wings barely moving are that soft gentle reminder of how Spirit can come to us in whispers and little nuances here and there. The simplest thing can often be overlooked and brushed off as an error or odd occurrence without meaning, when in this reality it was a sign from Spirit that they hear us and see us and are there to lend a hand.  My sweet mother Granny Ruth has been gone for a few years now.  Her birthday was on Christmas day and she was the blessing of all things Christmas.  Prior to her passing, she hadn’t been to the dentist in many years and wouldn’t you just know it on Christmas day, I received the text below. "Hi Ruth, this is Coast Dental Largo wishing you a Happy Birthday! Here's to another year full of smiles. Sent via NexHealth To unsubscribe, reply STOP" I received this text update on Christmas day mid-morning and just smiled. Others may have overlooked it and brushed it off as an odd error, but I know that was my mom laughing and wanting to be remembered and as she used to say, “Spirit is everywhere in all things.” You have a choice every day on how to live your life. 1)  As if nothing is by chance and we’re all just plowing through. Or 2) Live each day as if it is a miracle to be alive and you will experience many more miracles in this age of miraculous happenings.  I choose the second option and see miracles heading your way for a Grand 2023 and Beyond! ~ THE AGE OF MIRACLES ~ I believe, think, know and feel that since I am still here, there is still much to do and accomplish and every day I welcome more miracles here and now.  I am ready, willing and able to think outside the box, and live my life like a celebration of all things beautiful, knowing that the more positive the better.  I know, when, where how and why to fish myself into that zero point field where all things are possible and I am believing ahead of the receiving.  I am asking in all languages and throughout all time lines and so it is.  Wishing you the rest of your life will be the best of your life and envisioning you as making a little progress each and every day during this year and beyond!  Happy New Year one and all.

So often we’re caught up in the extra crispy stress of the holidays and beyond.  It is a strange time, I think everyone can agree on that!  But often the soundless butterfly wings barely moving are that soft gentle reminder of how Spirit can come to us in whispers and little nuances here and there. The simplest thing can often be overlooked and brushed off as an error or odd occurrence without meaning, when in this reality it was a sign from Spirit that they hear us and see us and are there to lend a hand.  My sweet mother Granny Ruth has been gone for a few years now.  Her birthday was on Christmas day and she was the blessing of all things Christmas.  Prior to her passing, she hadn’t been to the dentist in many years and wouldn’t you just know it on Christmas day, I received the text below. "Hi Ruth, this is Coast Dental Largo wishing you a Happy Birthday! Here's to another year full of smiles. Sent via NexHealth To unsubscribe, reply STOP" I received this text update on Christmas day mid-morning and just smiled. Others may have overlooked it and brushed it off as an odd error, but I know that was my mom laughing and wanting to be remembered and as she used to say, “Spirit is everywhere in all things.” You have a choice every day on how to live your life. 1)  As if nothing is by chance and we’re all just plowing through. Or 2) Live each day as if it is a miracle to be alive and you will experience many more miracles in this age of miraculous happenings.  I choose the second option and see miracles heading your way for a Grand 2023 and Beyond! ~ THE AGE OF MIRACLES ~ I believe, think, know and feel that since I am still here, there is still much to do and accomplish and every day I welcome more miracles here and now.  I am ready, willing and able to think outside the box, and live my life like a celebration of all things beautiful, knowing that the more positive the better.  I know, when, where how and why to fish myself into that zero point field where all things are possible and I am believing ahead of the receiving.  I am asking in all languages and throughout all time lines and so it is.  Wishing you the rest of your life will be the best of your life and envisioning you as making a little progress each and every day during this year and beyond!  Happy New Year one and all.

The two sat next to each other on the cold bench, Jenn stuffing her hands into her coat pocket. She exhaled, seeing her breath in the air as she shook her leg to hopefully warm herself up.

“It’s been a while, hasn’t it?” She looked over at him, noticing how his ears were red.

“It has, this feels a little weird to be honest.”

She nodded, chuckling to herself.

“You look different, a good difference. Maybe it’s the blonde?”

“I love it.” She smiled, pulling a strand of hair from behind her back.

“You look beautiful.”

“Thank you.” Jenn looked down at her lap, her grin fading while remembering why she called him out to meet. She needed to talk to him face to face. Maybe it would put her mind at rest after all these months. She still felt something tying her down and quite frankly, she wanted it to go away.

She huffed while slouching her shoulders, hearing the faint sound of cars and water flowing nearby. “Have you been doing okay?”

“I am, actually. I’ve got a lot of things coming along.”

“I’ve seen. I always listened to your songs, even if it hurt like hell. So even if we didn’t talk directly, I hope you know that I still supported you in everything.”

“I have too. It kind of gave me a reality check.”

She pursed her lips, turning her head towards him knowing that he was implying he heard all the songs that were written about him. She almost felt ashamed of herself.

“Your voice was always the most beautiful sound to me in this world.” He smirked, “But your ability to write is even more fascinating to me.”

Jenn knew he was being sincere, but this was the first time she actually took a few seconds to think about how her lyrics would affect him. She did it for herself, however selfish that may sound. It helped her to heal.

“It’s difficult seeing you like this. One day you were the love of my life and now you’re just an acquaintance.” Jenn frowned as the air felt so distant. He exhaled while lifting his leg up to place over his other. “Even when you came back to surprise me, something was off. I knew we had to break up. We lived together for so long and saw each other’s faces every morning. It was our routine, and I know myself well enough to know that I wouldn’t be satisfied with seeing you every couple of months. I've figured out I’m just not that type of person.”

The man nodded, staring off into the empty park being only lit with light poles.

“I always envisioned you would be the one I married. I would still love singing so I hoped to continue on for a few years before settling down with you. Having a wedding in the spring, perhaps buying a house and having a few more pets.” She smiled to herself as she kept going on about the future she had planned in her mind for them. “I also wondered if technology would advance by then, maybe I could’ve given you a child. Or we could have adopted. Even when our hair turned gray-”

“Jenn. What’s going on?”

“Well I-“

“You’ve never told me any of this. I know you didn’t call me out here just to reminisce on what could have been. What’s really going on?”

She didn’t even realize she was beating around the bush. Placing her hands on the edge of the bench to keep herself from falling over, she attempted to find the words she had been replaying and revising to herself for the past week.

“I-I need to tell you something, and I just can’t keep having my walls up for you when you don’t deserve it, especially when you did nothing wrong. I feel like it’s a problem within myself-”

“We don’t have to place the blame on anyone. It was mutual, wasn’t it? You were always one to fault yourself before looking at others-”

“Youngjae and I are dating.” Jenn spit the words out as fast as she could so there was no room for her to choke them down anymore. Without looking at him, she could tell he was shocked, perhaps even dumbfounded.

She felt her veins ache throughout her entire body, time was not moving. If anything, their surroundings stopped, but they stayed in motion. He wasn’t saying anything.

“Mark, please say something.” Her voice broke into a whisper, grabbing her pants to squeeze.

“Oh.” It was all he mustered up to say. She wanted him to say something, he did.

“Mark?”

He stood to his feet, stumbling a bit and turning around to face her. “I just need to walk around a bit.”

He had walked far enough for her to barely see him, the street lights only lighting him up. She didn’t know whether he was upset or trying to collect his thoughts.

She was surprised to see him walking back after 10 minutes, afraid he would’ve left her again right there. He sat back down, widening the space between them as much as possible.

“Mark, I know you’re mad. And I’m so sorry. You don’t have to accept my apology, I know I’m not worthy. But it’s not his fault. He was there. He was the only one who could knock some sense into me. If you need someone to be mad at, please take it out on me, not him.” She pulled her legs up on the bench, wrapping her arms around her ankles. “Trust me, I tried my best not to do anything. I felt so guilty and dirty for even having such thoughts about Youngjae and I’m just-.”

“Jenn, I’m not mad.”

She looked over at him, her eyes wide. She choked on her words, stumbling over herself. “You’re not?”

He shook his head, leaning back against the cool metal. “Sure, it’s shocking and kind of hurts, but I lost the privilege of being yours and knowing what you were doing when I left.”

“I never planned for this to happen, and I’m so sorry.”

He bit his lip, closing his eyes to calm himself down. “I just didn’t imagine it would be this soon.”

“I know. I never thought we would end up this way, Mark. I just want to be comfortable talking to you as friends and not hurt everytime I think of you.”

A stretch of silence formed between them. Jenn had no idea what to say, afraid her words would offend Youngjae or Mark. There wasn’t any hope left for them, but she was still accepting their fate. Even with their comforting words, she found herself as the common denominator. She was the reason behind their tragedy. And with that, her chest tightened how it always would. She swore her airway was closing up, but it was just her anxiety.

“I loved you. I loved you so much. I still love you, I don’t think I’ll ever stop loving you.” Tears pooled in her eyes, hugging her knees tight to her chest. “I feel guilty even saying that right now.”

“It’s okay. You don’t have to.” Mark hesitated putting his arm around her, but he did so anyway to hopefully comfort her. “No one should be limited to loving one person their entire life. And I wasn’t perfect.”

She sighed, closing her eyes as the mascara stuck under her eye. “You were my first love. My first everything. You taught me what love is, how to love. I can’t just disregard all of that.”

“You don’t have to. I’m okay with being your first love. I’m so lucky to have been able to love you at all. Anyone able to experience your love is lucky. That alone is enough for me.”

She faced him with a broken smile before nodding. He rubbed her back and tried flashing her a smile too.

“You look happy.” He pursed his lips, taking his hand back and warming them up.

“I am.” She smiled to herself, wiping her eyes with her shirt.

“You two always shared something I will never understand. He’s always liked you. Anyone can see it.” He bit the inside of his cheek, the realization finally hitting him that she was not his anymore. ”But if you two are happy together, then I’m happy for you both.”

“Thank you. I was just really worried about what you would think.” She stood up from the bench, stuffing her hands into her pockets. “Can we be friends moving forward?”

He smirked, standing up as well. “Of course.”

She sniffled with a smile creeping onto her face. “Can I hug you?”

Mark opened his arms, Jenn quickly going in and wrapping her arms around his waist. She pressed her cheek against his chest, inhaling his scent that felt so distant, yet so familiar. He hugged her tight, swaying them back and forth.

“Thank you.” She whispered into his jacket, “Thank you so much.”
