Maybe this would be like a modern day AU and, since Mortal Kombat does deal with the whole ‘there are a thousand realms out there’, we can easily make this work by saying that this modern day AU is set in either EarthRealm of MK or a whole different realm altogether.

Anyway, the idea would be that Johnny Cage is still a famous actor who just happens to frequent the bar Desmond works at and they get to talking, maybe it even starts off as a hush-hush friends-with-benefits kind of deal that ends up having feelings.

So now, Altaïr, Ezio and Ratonhnhaké:ton have to meet their cousin’s first serious relationship and it turns out to be Johnny freaking Cage of all people!

Unorganized Notes:

Johnny’s meeting Desmond’s cousins because, as far as Desmond is concerned, his real family is his cousins and not the ‘dad we do not talk about’.

Johnny would definitely understand what Desmond isn’t saying. He had a bad father too (understatement) so Desmond doesn’t really need to explain it to him and Desmond is grateful for it.

Because of this, the cousins would be quite hard on Johnny with Ezio being the ‘kindest’ of the three. That means Ezio is the scariest of the three though since he’s hiding his ‘hostility’ with his air of charm.

They’re all still Assassins but Desmond technically isn’t. In the eyes of the Brotherhood, his cousins compose one cell and he’s pretty much just family. The Brotherhood does become a bit ansty once words get out of some random bartender being seen as Johnny Cage’s plus-one in events. Some even ‘suggests’ that the cousins sabotage Desmond’s relationship but they all grow quiet when they get glared and threatened because, as much as they think Johnny isn’t enough and Desmond could definitely do better, they will accept him for as long as Desmond loves him.

Cassie Cage exists and she absolutely loves reminding her dad that Desmond is just a few years older than her. She gets a lot of selfies with Desmond and her followers love them because of how charmingly awkward Desmond’s smiles are in the pictures. The candid shots of Desmond’s professional bartender smile though gets lots of love as well… for different reasons.

It would be funny if this is set in MK world and, yeah, the Brotherhood operates there and Desmond’s ancestors are his cousins BUT…

Desmond himself is the Desmond Miles we know from the AC games that have been transported into MK’s Desmond Miles’ body after he activated the device in the Grand Temple. Bonus points if he gets transferred to the MK world via memory transfer that MK Desmond Miles remembered on December 21st when he was 25. Like, he’s both AC and MK world’s Desmond Miles and the only reason why this isn’t such a big deal is because Desmond is so chill by whatever fuckery gets thrown his way now.

This also gives us a bit of angst material as Desmond wants his cousins to approve Johnny because his cousins (for him) are also the three most important men in Desmond Miles’ lives back in the AC world so it would mean the world to him.

Btw… considering Spawn was a guest character for both MK and Soul Caliber and Ezio is a guest star of Soul Caliber, we can make an argument that MK, Soul Caliber, Spawn’s world and AC world are all ‘connected’. XD

Life Update

So much has happened. I don't even know where to start. I'm doing so much better in every way than I was last year. It's been a whole ass year since I moved and more than a year since I started this job.

I just paid off my phone today. I own that shit. I can't believe it. I've also never really had credit while also making good income. I never imagined I'd finally get here, but I'm not done. I have to create goals and envision this new year of growth that's coming and I gotta keep it going, growing exponentially until I've reached my full potential.

The place I moved into after I moved out of living with that guy that rented me that room for $750 turned out to be perfect. I'm in an ideal part of town and my rent isn't too much and I can sort of stand my room mates which is a big step up from the previous place. It's gonna be one year in December.

I got a massive promotion at work too. Just yesterday I played MK11 again after 3 months of giving up that game as sacrifice to gain something in exchange as like my superstitious belief ritual and it worked cuz I got a double promotion LOL. I applied for a starting position in a different department in my company, which includes management experience and jumped from the starting position to a middle position within a month. I got promoted after ONE month, baby 😩😩😩. I needed those three months to get used to the role and all that so it's been very rocky and stressful and I have almost no time to do anything anymore. I'm so busy.

I got a PS5, got a MacBookqque, games I wanted, clothes, new Sandals. I've started to experiment with ways of getting the best possible deals with purchases by using rewards with my ccs and like having store cards for places I frequent and spend money at regularly. Never really had credit before so this is so new and great. I'm saving money. That student loan I defaulted on being rehabilitated did wonders for my credit along with the impact of the secured cc after it became a regular card. Highly recommend this for anyone who wants to build credit quickly, do the same.

Anyway, I am in a completely different place physically, emotionally, etc than I was and I'm feeling great, like I'm growing and changing and shit. I love that. It feels good.

Anyway, thank you all that followed me all these years and gave me so much good energy and especially to those of you who helped me survive during COVID. I wanted to get ahead for myself but I also wanted to come back and be like hey guys this is what you helped me accomplish :3

I want to just install mk11, inj2 and maybe mkx on my ps5, but the stupid storage thing is making me anxious. I don’t think all three will fit in there, anyway. I get that having the games installed instead of reading from the disc probably lets them be faster but the storage feels so small next to the size of some games. Installing and reinstalling make me anxious. I miss when we just needed to put a disc in there and that was it

I guess I will keep playing on the ps4. I’m just going to switch back for a little while, anyway, while I wait for the next Invasions season. Since I play in the morning to stay awake and not fall back into the trap of sleeping the entire morning, it is getting troublesome that mk1 is making me feel sleepy. I’m almost sure it’s because leveling up mastery isn’t enriching enough

Going back to mk11 will mean trying to get some more of those elusive rewards. I already know the downs of it - mostly, I will be using the ai and my “playing” will consist of keeping track of which character to use to get those rewards. That did work to keep me awake often though, and I can write fic while the ai fights those endless towers

I never played inj2 much, mostly because I was stuck with mk11, and I think I said this before but in mk everyone is a blorbo, while in inj2 I have my two mk blorbos plus a bunch of characters that I like in some way but who are not blorbos. But now a bunch of them are almost getting promoted to blorbos so I think it will be fun to go back. When it comes to my favorite activity, dressing up and collecting stuff to dress up, I like how customizable every outfit is, but having to manage inventory is a big turn off

… are the inj2 servers still up?

If I go to mkx, there won’t be much to do in terms of collecting, as I finished everything cool from the krypt, and the other unlockable skins seem to be tied to stuff above my skill. I may try the TYM tower for the Revenant Kuai skin again. But honestly, I mostly just want to play it to actually use the stuff I collected. Plus Cassie isn’t as cool in mk11 as in mkx

I could and should play the ps2 games but I kinda don’t have a proper place for it. The way my room is set up makes it impossible to play comfortably, and it’s hot again and my fan seems to have broken for real now. I do want to finish mkd conquest mode, and all the towers in both mkd and mka. I also never got to play mkda or shaolin monks despite having gotten my copies before my hiatus

I also have a mugen mk game with like everyone which I never gave more than a try

I saw someone saying this looks like I2 system but no? The gear doesn’t seem to affect stats. I hope there are also no repeats because that gave me anxiety

It seems to be completely different from mk11 though. Also it seems like each character will only have one type of customizable gear. The site I read said it is different from mk11 “where you could customize everything” but I think they were thinking of I2, because let’s be real for most characters in mk11 you only had one big gear type that really changed how they looked (usually masks or head gear) and two accessories that you could barely see in battle. Customize everything my ass

Also Tanya’s skin isn’t ps5 only, it is in every official store, it just seems that the only physical version that it’s in it’s the ps5 one!

So, if I buy the digital version but not on pre order, it will not be included? :(

Idk if there is a difference in price between the physical version and the digital version, but unless the physical case is really cool it seems pointless to get the physical version. Because the ps4, like the ps5, needs to install the whole game on its memory anyway. So I wasn’t planning on getting a physical copy, if the choice was up to me I wouldn’t even want the ps5 that comes with a disc reader anyway

Well, mk xl and mk11 ultimate both had the Brazilian skins included. I plan on getting the equivalent of them for mk1 when it eventually comes out (though I will probably get the base game first, as soon as I am able to play it)

Is it only for the ps5 though? I was getting into the idea of the pc version (though I will need a new pc anyway. my current ones would die) if only so I won’t have to play in the big living room tv, in front of everyone…
