the other night i dreamed that i met younger doggies that looked just like miles and i was so surprised and joyful that there were more dogs out there that shared his unique look — he’s half afghan hound and half australian shepherd so it’s kind of a specific mix

anyway i wanted to adopt one in the dream but irl i don’t think it would be a good idea to do, especially while miles is still living; he would probably feel cast aside and he gets very emotional when he feels he’s being ignored

#miles came in a litter with at least two sisters so there may be a few of him hanging around but he’s super special to me #he’s a sensitive but hardy beast #large and high energy but sometimes timid #and very fit and healthy despite his getting older #he hardly lets me brush him though because his long kinky hair in places makes him nervous and lucy likes to bark and shout at us #i have to carefully use ‘waterless’ shampoo (which is basically like deodorizing detangler for dogs) to make him clean too #because he’s afraid of running water for some reason #i always got the feeling that somebody treated him poorly as a pup because he used to have aversions to all sorts of things #and there was a small lump on his rib when we got him like it had been fractured/broken and repaired????#idk if he still has it because he’s too fluffy and i don’t remember where it was #anyway there’s no other dog that is exactly like him as far as i’m aware
