ok, i think its too late for me to be thinking more abt trigun, but one last thing before i go to bed, is hopefully for the love of god, meryl and milly can get some real significance in the new adaptation, lol.

the anime was actually incredible in the fact that it involved them much more, yet it feels like they did less than they actually did in their few appearances in the manga. they truly felt like sakura from naruto or winry from fma03, literally just following some other boys around. they even got new scenes in the anime of them being caring mothers/doing housework, lol?? in the manga, it always felt kinda sad, like they could have had a more relevant role, maybe opposite to how wolfwood felt in the anime, but they still did/said things in the manga, and had little sneak peeks of potential depth... meanwhile, the anime they just kind of followed vash, with vash literally going "how long will these two follow me around, haha...???" I think another good point is that i read a trivia bullet for them that vash apparently had only said meryl's name once, and never spoke milly's name. these girls who had been travelling w him for like 90% of the anime never had their names spoken by him... crazy. it forces them to be viewed negatively as an annoyance of our beloved main character who apparently cant be bothered to learn/say their names

i saw some comments discussing the finale of the anime and ppl trying to describe character development for the cast, and for meryl someone literally said hers was something like not judging others (ig bc most of the anime she was grappling w being able to publicly defend vash or not lol??) and milly's was like... not being innocent or whatever (dumb). it's just really wild that the writers for trigun's anime really could not think of anything for these two women to do besides follow vash around, while w the manga it feels like u dont have the full picture and these other characters definitely have more they could have shown. meryl carries like 30 hidden pistols and never uses them for some reason and milly has some kind of Gatling gun or net launcher thing, and she doesnt, either. makes no sense.
