hi Sophie ♡ I made time to send you this because you had your exam and your surgery today. I hope it went awesome, sorry to hear that surgery didn't go quite as expected because of what happened to teddy but I'm sure you did awesome anyways.
now to answer...
oh my sweet Sophie, pls don't apologize for taking your time to answer. I work, study and try to be here for most spn news, i get it and you're working in becoming an amazing vet and you write beautiful stories and manage to even do events like the one for your milestone, so don't worry ❤ that being said... my heart skipped a beat when I saw your answer and I was eager to send you this too
I'm 100% in with cinnamon and apple!
I adore Rapunzel! Tangled was awesome and I love the song I see the light. It's just one of thee best scenes ever with all the lanterns (can we have lanterns???).
Yes to mountains, it'll be the perfect view, specially in autumn.
Your writing is perfection, I know I'm only one person and is not much but I love it ❤ and I know I'm not the only one, people just tend to love what you write.
I think I won't stop blushing for the rest of the month after you called me your fiancé ajsndjdks 🥰 I'm melting over this, your vows probably will end me.
Now music. I listen to almost all music. I'm more a soft songs girl but I listen to almost everything. Being able to do that made me discover some beautiful songs from small artists. Sleeping At Last is my favorite artist right now. I love Ed Sheeran and JB too. My favorite song from Ed is Perfect and from JB is Hesitate, makes me weep everytime. Just the I'll thank the oceans for giving me you and then is the all I won't hesitate for you, like is everything. I really love love songs. Oh I love Taylor Swift too.
I had an stressful weekend and week but it's ok, thank you.
I hope you get to rest a little bit this weekend
ly💍🌷💜
hello my sweet darling angel <33 my sincerest apologies that it’s taken me so long to reply to this message! thank you so much for sending this message to me when i had my exam and surgery (funny thing was i literally got the message from you as i was leaving the clinic after surgery and i was exhausted and then i saw your message and i couldn’t stop smiling and i sat in my car and read your entire message before i drove home hehe <3) that exam did go well (i got an 80% on it) and lucky the surgery went well too despite the last minute change in patient. I did get to help out a little during the procedure which was awesome. Our next surgery is this upcoming Thursday and I’m going to be the anesthesiologist (lots of pressure) but I’m excited!
yesssss, answer time hehe!
oh my sweetiepie! I really am so sorry it takes me so long to answer sometimes, but i really appreciate that you’re so understanding of everything i’m balancing! also can i just say how amazing you are with balancing working, studying, and being online for a majority of the spn news, like holy hell you’re a superhero for managing to keep on top of all those things. you thinking I’m gonna be an amazing vet has got me crying omg thank you so much! gosh, i dont think my stories are that good, but hearing you say they’re beautiful makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. awww shucks, thank you for liking the event i hosted for my milestone. I just wanted people to feel included and to share that special feeling with other amazing people in the fandom. ❤️ wait wait omg i made your heart skip a beat??? that’s literally so precious i want to wrap you up in warm blankets!
yessss im so happy you agree with cinnamon and apple scents for our wedding! gotta bring in those lovely rich and comforting smells!
omg i may have just giggled with happiness over you saying you love rapunzel! that’s my favorite song in the film omg that whole scene with the lanterns and the way her and eugene sneak glances at each other because they’re falling in love is so soft. (OHMYGOD yes yes yes we can have lanterns at our wedding i swear i literally just went 🥺🥺🥺 at your adorable idea!)
ooooh yay, I’m so glad you like the idea of mountains for the wedding. you’re so right the view will be perfect in autumn with all the changing leaves!
you’ve just made me blush for the hundredth time by calling my writing perfection. Trust me, coming from you, that literally means everything. Gosh, i dont know how i got so lucky to have people who love what i write. I just never thought my writing would connect with people, and to know it brought us together, that’s like a dream come true ❤️
ajdflkjadfkjssa I MADE YOU BLUSH!!! you’d better get used to it because I’m loudly proclaiming you’re my fiancé to anyone and everyone heheh! okay but literally every time i think ’you cant get any cuter’ you literally get CUTER and I cannot handle it! you melting? precious. knowing my vows will mean so much to you? adorable. your reactions? lovable. your sweetness? perfection.
oh yay, I’m so glad you’re so open to music of lots of genres. soft songs are my weakness. just another thing we have in common <3 I’d love to hear some of your favorite small artists so that i can listen to them too. I’m going to search Sleeping At Last as soon as my exam is over on Tuesday! <3 omg I’m so glad to have found someone else who also loves Ed and JB! omg Perfect is an amazing wedding song hehe. also omg Hesitate is literally one of my absolute favorites (I cried when they played it live on the HB tour before covid)! You plucked out my favorite lyrics I’m gonna sob omg i literally tear up every time I hear joe sing “i thank the oceans for giving me you, you saved me once and now i’ll save you too” because that’s the kind of love i want 🥺❤️ love songs are my favorite they’re just so pure and honest and raw, like you can actually feel the love in every single word in the song. I’m not much of a taylor fan, but i do admit she has some great bops and she’s a super talented artist.
oh no, my love, I’m so sorry to hear that you had a stressful week and weekend. I hope you’re doing okay now? did you have a better weekend this past weekend? did you do anything fun? can i do anything to make you feel better?
ilysm 🌷💍💖💜🥺

Talking things out.
I tend to go big or go home.  It’s not really a great quality when it all plays out (at least for me).  I get an idea of something I want to do, and it could be in any area of life, and then I’m fully committed, laser-focused, and go hard at it.  It’s cool when there’s a definite endpoint, like doing well in a class or getting my house ready for out of town guests.  Those kinds of things are usually easy for me.  However, my personal life is not so easily managed.  It’s way more messy and complicated.  It gets harder because (a) I don’t have a single, clearly defined goal or definite endpoint and (b) if I mess up and/or feel guilty and/or disappoint someone, it can throw a big wrench in my motivation.
Last Thursday he read the letter that explained my needs for our D/s dynamic.  We talked a lot that night after he was finished with work.  My heart’s highlights from that conversation were that (1) it made him hard when he read the letter, (2) that his main concern was going about it the right way so that things could stay that way, and (3) that he understood better why I sometimes get lost on the big picture stuff and how this relationship structure could potentially help.  He was also concerned that if he messed up or something that the dynamic would go away because I wouldn’t want it anymore.  We talked about the fact that it won’t be easy/perfect all the time and we’ll definitely have mess-ups, but it’s about growing into it together.  A lot of what we talked about really helped me feel like he was becoming personally invested and valued the dynamic.  It was awesome to hear that he’s been quite happy with how things have been going since we’ve started down this road.  I know that it’s a big ask for him to be my Dom, so I hope that as we keep going he’ll find the payoffs are worth the work needed to provide for my needs as his submissive partner.
He’d started drafting our D/s agreement a few nights before, and he worked more on the agreement that night.  We talked through some things and finished it.  He suggested that we sleep on it for a few days and make sure it still felt right.  He put the tasks into the app, and I took the weekend to do kind of my own little dry run.  We did end up making little tweaks to the agreement and changed some wording in the app.  I’m really glad we did it like that because it allowed a bit of extra time me to make sure I understood his expectations on some things.  We agreed to three months under our first agreement, and we can adjust it as long as we mutually agree on any changes.
Of course, that night as I was laying in bed, I decided that I was going to make sure that I didn’t mess up ANY of the rules for the entire 3 months that we have committed to.  I wanted to make sure that he was happy and taken care of and I wanted to make it so easy on him because I’d never go outside the boundaries.  This is typical me- take something awesome and decide to try to out-awesome it.  Monday came and we officially took on these additional responsibilities to the other.
Wednesday came, and I had to go into work for a couple of hours.  He dropped me off and picked me up because my car is in the shop.  When we got home, we talked for a minute about lunch.  He said that he didn’t think he had a big enough break between meetings to come eat with me that day, but I offered to make it for him and he said yeah, if lunch was made by 11:30 he could come and eat until 11:45.  There was still a little bit of time before then, so I went on to one of my other tasks.  He came up, and after he came and found me I realized that it was 11:33 and there was no lunch.  I felt AWFUL.  He was going to head back down for the meeting, but I persuaded him to stay and I made the lunch very quickly and he was eating a few minutes later, but I just felt so bad- he only had a 15 minute window to begin with and I made it even shorter.  I could tell he felt let down, and even though we talked a little, it was just kind of heavy while he ate because I think we were both disappointed.  He of course had to go back down at 11:45, so there wasn’t time to fully talk about it.   He said he should have made it clearer that it was an expectation, and I told him that I didn’t feel like it had to be clearer- I had had every intention of getting it ready by 11:30, but I had just gotten caught up.
Later that afternoon, he came up and we talked a little more.  I apologized again and asked him if he was disappointed, and he said “Yes, but I should have been clearer about my expectations.  I think we both learned something from it.”  We were hugging at this point and I asked if there was anything I could do to make it up to him.  I desperately wanted to assuage my guilt for not being more careful to take care of him- I would have done anything to show him how much I loved him and how bad I felt.  He said, “No, it’s done.  You can’t really make it up, but I’m not expecting you to be perfect...” and then: “and I hope you’re not expecting to be perfect either.”  Ugh.  I was.  I was expecting to be perfect for just these three months.  It seems silly now that I thought that I could do things completely perfectly for that long, but it seemed super doable when I had originally thought about it- 90 days of doing all of the things on my list.  But there’s more to my desire to serve him than just checking off my tasks/rules.  I want him to know he’s a priority.  When this happened and I felt so sad that I hadn’t taken care of him the way I’d wanted to and that our 15 minutes together weren’t as happy as they should have been.  I would have done anything to fix it.  But I think his words really were what I needed to hear.  After that conversation I was able (eventually) to move forward and accept that it’s done and that I’m actually still doing good.  He tells me that every day.  I’m glad that we’re talking these things through and not just letting the little disappointments build up between us and go unspoken.  It means I don’t have to carry it around in my brain anymore and let it drain my motivation.  It means I’m able to go forward knowing that we acknowledged it and have actually put it behind us- and he still wants me.

Kobe Bryant Launching New Podcast for Kids — and Says Coaching His Daughters Helped Inspire Him
Long before his days of domination on the Los Angeles Lakers, Kobe Bryant knew all too well what it was to be a nervous kid standing before the unknown. In one case for a then 6-year-old Bryant, the “unknown” was facing off against a skilled fighter in his karate class. “I’m freaking out because in my mind I could see myself just getting absolutely pummeled,” Bryant, who turned 40 on Thursday, tells PEOPLE. “I didn’t want to do it, and my imagination was just like, ‘You’re going to get knocked out. You’re going to lose teeth. It’s going to be horrible.’ But once I fought him — and I got my butt kicked — it wasn’t as bad as I made it out to be in my own head.” Learning how to calm that inner doubt, even in the likelihood of defeat, would remain influential to Bryant for years to come. “Anything that we can conjure up in our own mind is going to be way worse than the reality of the situation — and the important thing is keeping your mind quiet,” the five-time NBA champion says. “If you give your imagination the power of negative self-talk, that can be extremely detrimental.” Now, Bryant is hoping to help children who may feel anxious or discouraged while participating in new activities through a new, scripted podcast series, “The Punies.” The show, developed by Bryant’s Granity Studios along with Cadence 13, will premiere on Apple’s Podcast app, Google Play, Spotify and other streaming platforms on August 25. RELATED: Kobe Bryant Opens Up About Animated Short Film Dear Basketball, His ‘Love Letter’ to the Sport Directed by Bryant himself, the up to 15-minute episodes follow character “Puny” Pete, as he navigates a variety of activities — each with their own unique obstacle and solution — with his group of diverse friends. Through Pete’s experiences, the show illustrates life lessons, including how to constructively respond to failure and work together as a team. The episodes are also filled with upbeat music, humorous commentary and even fictional commercials, mimicking sports radio. Episodes of “The Punies” will drop every Saturday morning for 10 weeks, a time slot reminiscent of once-popular weekend cartoons. Bryant chose the “old-school” Saturday morning schedule because it’s when many parents will be driving their kids to sporting events, something he regularly does for his daughters, Natalia, 15, and Gianna, 12 — both who play basketball. “I wanted to give parents something they can listen to during the drive because we certainly needed something to listen to,” Bryant, who also shares Bianka Bella, 20 months, with wife Vanessa, says. “We need something that’s fun, something that gets the kids ready to play, but also keeps things light and fun, and has a message for them before they engage in competition.” Since his retirement from the NBA in 2016 — which ended in a spectacular 60 point showing from the athlete — Bryant hasn’t been shy about showcasing his knack for storytelling. Notably, he became the first NBA player to win an Academy Award for his animated short, Dear Basketball, based off of the poem he wrote revealing his plans to retire (his Oscar sits next to the Emmy he also won, he says). But this love for storytelling has also proven invaluable to Bryant as a father. “If you’re able to implant life lessons through humor, and through fantasy and fairytale,” he explains, “then those tend to resonate a lot more .” This revelation fueled his desire to create his kid-centric audio show, as well as his series of videos featuring “Little Mamba,” which debuted on ESPN last year. But it’s also thanks to his daughters that Byrant hasn’t found himself too far from a basketball court in retirement — albeit, on the sideline as their coach. It’s a role he’s having a lot of fun with, he says, but one he also values for allowing him to teach his girls in a new environment. “A valuable lesson that I can teach them is what it means to pursue excellence and the commitment level that comes with that,” Bryant, an 18-time NBA All-Star, says of being a coach. “At the same time, making things fun and challenging, and learning new things. But they’re having a blast. They’ve gotten extremely, extremely good over the course of the last year, and are continuing to work and get better, man. It’s been fun.” But Bryant will be making trips back to the basketball court at Staples Center — the arena that now displays both his retired No. 8 and No. 24 jerseys in the rafters — soon enough, as he’ll be on hand to watch LeBron James in his first season with the team. “I’m definitely going to watch. I’m going to try to get down to some games and support them,” he says. “It should be awesome, it should be a great season!” RELATED: Kobe Bryant Says Friends Joke ‘It Takes a Real Man to Make a Boy’: I Tell Them ‘It Takes a King to Make a Princess’ There has been much excitement surrounding the newly acquired James, but his arrival hasn’t silenced critics who have cast doubt on whether the Lakers will be successful this year. Much of the skepticism stems from the collection of new players who joined the roster after the signing of James, 33, during the offseason. While questions about team chemistry remain, Bryant says not knowing what to expect isn’t such a bad thing after all. “They need to do better than last year. That’s for sure. But I think the most important thing at this stage is to just focus on each day, because it’s hard to say what we can expect from such a new team,” he says. “We really don’t know what to expect, which I think is a good thing. They’ll just work hard every day, and get better every day, and see where they end up.” WATCH: Kobe Bryant Receives Love From Sports World on The Night His Jerseys Get Retired These are qualities that echo what Bryant hopes to pass along to children with each edition of “The Punies.” “You have these outside forces pulling you in different directions that distract from the fact that you just simply need to put the right foot in front of the left, the left in front of the right, and just keep on moving,” he says. “The lead-up for all of these episodes is, despite the noise, the confusion, the inner monologue and outer distractions, it ultimately comes down to just placing one foot in front of the other.” http://bit.ly/2P08FjL

Shemma FKA Bonnie

“We just wanted to send a quick update as it’s Shemma’s (FKA Bonnie) 2nd birthday today! She enjoyed a long walk around the neighborhood, an extra treat (or two), and a new squeaky toy to celebrate her big day! Since our last update over a year ago, Shemma gained twin (human) sisters last July and she’s the best big sister ever! She loves the girls and showers them with puppy kisses and is incredibly patient with them—even now that they’re crawling and try to steal her toys! Our family just wouldn’t be complete without her and we continue to be incredibly thankful for To Love a Canine rescue for saving her and allowing us to welcome her into our home. She is the best pup and the most perfect fit in our family. “
  Keira FKA Ivanka
#gallery-27 margin: auto; #gallery-27 .gallery-item float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 50%; #gallery-27 img border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; #gallery-27 .gallery-caption margin-left: 0; /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
“I know it’s only been 2 months with Keira now, but she just completed basic obedience class tonight, and is heading into teens 2. I dropped her off at day training and the professional trainers kept telling me how great of a dog she is, and how quickly she learns things, they even started teaching her a few new things because she catches on so quickly. Every person who meets Keira just keeps saying how lucky we are to have found her: she is super well behaved, follows most commands and is super loving. She still has her puppy/teen issues like chewing some things she shouldn’t but she is such a great addition to our little family!
She has already been hiking with us, to rugby games, breweries, family events and she adapts to her surroundings very well. She has so much more potential with us continuing her training as well!”
  Zeus

“Zeus is doing great!   We sent a few pics to Jen Catrambone a while ago but I attached a few more.  Zeus and his sister Gabby absolutely love each other.  They literally are inseparable and play outside constantly!   Zeus is an amazing dog.  He’s loves to play and is everyone’s friend.
We couldn’t be happier with him!!!”
  Luna FKA Nyrobi

“We did change her name to Luna and she is doing great!  We could not have found a better puppy for our home.
She does a vet appointment at 12 today and we may be looking into doing some training with Jeri, just to make sure we are on the right track.
I have attached 2 pictures to show how well she is adjusting.  :)”

““Skipper “ now Mack is doing awesome!  He actually slept from 10-5 last night which was an unexpected bonus.  He is mild mannered and wearing himself out playing with Lucy.  (she seems too distracted to lick the way she was doing before)
Working on house training.  He’s so darn cute and curious.
We have a vet appointment this afternoon.  To get him checked out.
Thank you for a wonderful adoption experience 😁”
  Murphy FKA Terk
Murphy FKA Terk
“Murphy (fka Terk) enjoy the warm weather! We’ve had him 3 months! He starts training classes this week. He’s already 6 months! He’s shaping up to be a great dog. He’s very smart, crate trained and housebroken ”

Max is doing amazing! He is getting along really well with our other dog Blue and he has learned to ignore my guinea pigs. We had the backyard fenced in so Max and Blue can run and play. We will be taking them on some camping trips soon too. Max had a great time taking an obedience class and a tricks class with Peppers Paws dog training. He is an amazing, loving dog and we are so happy to give him a forever home!”

“Wiley and I are doing great!  He is such a little love.  He is coming along really well in all his training classes and is in a walking club on the weekends.  And, he loves day camp at Wagsworth.  He is such a wonderful furbaby.  Here is a picture of him from this year’s Christmas card.”
      Calvin FKA Sam
“Calvin (formally known as Sam) is doing great! We just moved to a new house in the city and he’s transitioning very well, only peed on the floor twice. We plan to transition him out of the crate during the day and hope to put a baby gate up to keep in the kitchen for now at least becUse he climbs furniture and tables and chews things when he’s alone. but he can jump over and climb every gate we’ve tried. Do you have any ideas on that??”
Editor’s note: we’ve referred Calvin’s mom to our trainers

“My husband and I were just saying the other night that we feel like we have had Dixie longer than 6 months!  She is just such a big part of our family now, and she loves everyone she meets. She goes to my son’s college baseball games and plays or at least is social with the other dogs there (she has her favorite!). She had already rid our yard of one mouse and one mole, the CAT(ahoula) in her name should have been a sign!!  We just started daycare to get rid of some of that energy, still a little nervous but I am sure as the weather gets warmer and the dogs get to go outside she will feel at home. She loves the snow…we could leave her outside for hours and she would not get bored…but we get cold so she has to come in!
We are so happy to have rescued her, can’t imagine my life without here. “

“Chloe fka Dixie is great! She has settled in wonderfully & is the greatest little girl
Loves walks, sticks, and is particularly fond of her favorite stuffed animal squirrel!

“I wanted to pass along an update about Sasha, who we adopted in September!
Sasha has made a wonderful addition to our family. She is definitely a ‘daddy’s girl’, and I don’t know what my husband would do with out her at this point!
As you can see by the pictures, she loves naps on the couch, and if she sees a squirrel through the window or on a walk it definitely gets her attention! She has been great with all of our nieces and nephews, as well as the other dogs in our extended families. She is a gentle goofball, and has mastered every trick we have taught her. Thank you all again for what you do, and for bringing Sasha into our lives!”

Retail Drives Strong Stock Gains Ahead of Cyber Monday – Market Update
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! My Detroit Lions lost, but the food was great. Unfortunately, someone who shall remain nameless passed me more than the stuffing, so I’m a little under the weather this morning. Nothing stops a Cyber Monday Market Update, though.
Speaking of Cyber Monday, we’ve got a little online deal of our own going today if you’re in the market for a mortgage. Today only, if you lock your rate through Rocket Mortgage® by Quicken Loans on a refinance, you’ll receive a half point off your closing costs.*
Turning to economic data, it was a bit of a lighter week given the holiday, but we got some housing numbers and durable goods orders, among other items.
Headline News
Existing Home Sales
Existing home sales came in stronger than expected in October, up 2.0% to a seasonally adjusted annualized rate of 5.480 million. Still, this is down 0.9% from last year’s pace.
Single-family home resales were up 2.1% to 4.870 million, while condo sales increased 1.7% to 610,000. Sales prices were down 0.2% on the month to $247,000, but that’s still 5.5% higher than the average price at this time last year. Supply was down 3.2% to 1.800 million homes. Relative to sales, there are 3.9 months left of supply on the market as opposed to 4.2 months in September.
There were gains in all regions, with sales up 4.2% in the Northeast. This was followed by a 2.4% sales increase in the West, a 1.8% increase in the South and a 0.8% uptick in the Midwest.
MBA Mortgage Applications
Mortgage applications were up 0.1% overall last week. A 5.0% gain in purchase applications was almost totally offset by a 5.0% decrease in applications in an increasingly rate-sensitive refinance market.
The average rate on a 30-year fixed conforming mortgage was up two basis points to 4.20%, according to this data.
Durable Goods Orders
It wasn’t a good month in terms of new orders for durable goods, which were down 1.2%. They’ve still risen 1.0% on the year. A big piece of this October drop seems to be a 33% decrease in the number of commercial aircraft orders. When transportation was taken out of the equation, orders are up 0.4% and 7.4% annually. Finally, shipments of core capital goods were down 0.5% but have gone up 8.1% on the year.
The good news is there were upward revisions in every major category for September. There was also a 1.7% increase in vehicle orders and a 1.5% uptick in automobile production.
Jobless Claims
Initial unemployment claims fell 13,000 last week to 239,000. This is extremely low. That said, the four-week average did rise slightly, up 1,250 to come in at 239,750.
Continuing claims rose 36,000 last week to 1.904 million. The four-week average also ticked up a bit, rising 1,000 to come in at 1.890 million.
Consumer Sentiment
Consumer sentiment readings rose slightly in the final reading of November, up 0.8 points to 98.5. It’s still down slightly in comparison to October.
Consumers are very confident about gains for employment and income. However, of particular concern for the Federal Reserve is the fact that consumers expect inflation to remain very low. The outlook is 2.5% over the next year and 2.4% over the next five years.
As mentioned above, both current conditions and expectations are down slightly from where they were in October at 113.5 and 88.9, respectively.
Mortgage Rates
Mortgage rate movements were a mixed bag last week. With that said, they’re still very low. If you’re in the market for a mortgage, qualifying loans are eligible for a 0.5 point off closing costs if you lock your rate today during our Cyber Monday pricing special.
First, average rates on 30-year-fixed mortgages with 0.5 fees in points were down three basis points in the week to 3.92% in last week’s Freddie Mac data. Last year at this time, the average rate was 3.81%.
On the shorter-term side, the average rate on a 15-year fixed mortgage with 0.4 points was up a basis point to 3.32%. At the same time last year, the average rate was 3.39%.
Finally, the average rate on a 5-year treasury-indexed hybrid adjustable rate mortgage (ARM) with 0.4 points was up one basis point to 3.22%. A year ago, this rate was 3.32%.
Stock Market
Investors are expecting a strong holiday shopping season, and those expectations led to big stock gains – the S&P 500 closed at a new record high.
The Dow Jones industrial average finished the week at 23,557.99, up 31.81 points Friday and 0.86% on the week. The S&P 500 gained 5.34 points and 0.91% on the week on its way to a finish at 2,602.42 Friday. Rounding things out, the Nasdaq was up 1.57% on the week after rising 21.80 points on the day to finish at 6,889.16.
The Week Ahead
Monday, November 27
New Home Sales (10:00 a.m. ET) – This measures the number of newly constructed homes with a committed sale during the month.
Tuesday, November 28
International Trade in Goods (8:30 a.m. ET) – The Bureau of Economic Analysis has begun breaking out the goods from the remaining international trade numbers to get an idea of import and export estimates for GDP calculations.
FHFA House Price Index (9:00 a.m. ET) – The Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) House Price Index (HPI) covers single-family housing using data provided by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. The HPI is derived from transactions involving conforming conventional mortgages purchased or securitized by Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac.
S&P Case-Shiller HPI (9:00 a.m. ET) – The S&P Case-Shiller Home Pricing Index tracks monthly changes in the value of residential real estate in 20 metropolitan regions across the U.S.
Consumer Confidence (10:00 a.m. ET) – The Conference Board compiles a survey of consumer attitudes on the economy. The Consumer Confidence Index is based on consumer perceptions of current business and employment conditions, as well as their expectations when considering business conditions, employment and income.
Wednesday, November 29
MBA Mortgage Applications (7:00 a.m. ET) – The mortgage applications index measures applications to mortgage lenders. This is a leading indicator for single-family home sales and housing construction.
Gross Domestic Product (GDP) (8:30 a.m. ET) – This measures the monetary value of all final goods and services produced within the U.S. This report is released on a quarterly basis.
Pending Home Sales Index (10:00 a.m. ET) – The National Association of REALTORS developed the Pending Home Sales Index as a leading indicator of housing activity. Specifically, it’s a leading indicator of existing home sales, not new home sales.
Thursday, November 30
Jobless Claims (8:30 a.m. ET) – New unemployment claims are compiled weekly to show the number of individuals filing for unemployment insurance for the first time. An increasing trend suggests a deteriorating labor market. The four-week moving average of new claims smooths out weekly volatility.
Personal Income and Outlays (8:30 AM ET) – This is a measurement of how much consumers are taking in as well as their corresponding spending. This also gives insight into how much is being saved.
Friday, December 1
ISM Manufacturing Index (10:00 a.m.) – This index measures the general direction of manufacturing within the U.S. The qualitative survey of purchasing managers looks at production, new orders, order backlogs, inventories and supplier deliveries, among other factors.
There’s a fair amount of economic data coming this week. We’ll have it all covered for you next Monday in Market Update.
If this mortgage and economics stuff isn’t enough to awaken you after the long weekend, we have plenty of home, money and lifestyle content to share with you if you subscribe to the Zing Blog below. Thanksgiving may just be ending, but it will soon be time to think about all those random gift exchanges. With that in mind, here are some awesome items you can get for under $25. Have a great week!

So think about it, and then email me if you're interested. If I can get a couple dozen or so people interested, I will organize such an event. If you have a preferred day or time, please share that as well.

Nicole Theresa posted on Facebook: "Just wanted to drop a note - - I'm listening to past podcast episodes while I grade music finals (I work for a virtual school in California; I'm a high school music appreciation teacher). The wonderful music is making the painful student submissions a bit more bearable! Cheers!"
Shira Gaudet posted on Facebook: "Thank you for your podcast! Yours is what I listen to when I need a mental break. Love the music. Stone Soup is my favorite episode so far! Still working through all of the old episodes."
Kevin Long emailed: "I was so happy to find your podcast while searching for Celtic music on iTunes. Where has this been all my life? Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for this! I cannot begin to describe to you, the memories of my childhood that this podcast brings back. My Grand Father and Great Grand Father used to sit and play this very same music on the fiddle and guitar when I was young boy growing up in Sarasota Florida back in the late sixties and early seventies.
Within the past two months, two events have drawn me ever closer to your broadcast. First, at my surprise birthday party to celebrate my 50th birthday, my amazing wife Vicky surprised me with a planned trip to Cork (my ancestral homeland)and Limerick for May. Second was the unfortunate passing of my beloved Grand Father James Russell Huff. He gave me many things in life, one of them is my love of music. My Mother found a recording of him and my Great Grand Father playing Celtic music recently and my family sat around and listened. This is when I knew that I was not only destined to find your podcast but, support it as well. Mark, I hope to happen upon you on the emerald isle one day and buy you a pint. Slainte!"
