i’m gonna say something that is perhaps an unpopular opinion. but. i am not hugely fond of the way robin’s implied autism was used as comedic relief when she tries to open up about missing social cues and feeling inhibited in making friends, and she really deserved some semblance of an apology for the way nancy reacted. like….robin literally says “i’m sorry if i did or said anything to upset you, i just sometimes can’t read social cues and also my mother criticizes me for this” which gives so much insight into how self conscious robin feels about this perceived barrier in her socializing with others and the fact that it’s a constant source of shame for her at home. and nancy just grimaces and says “….okay?” and it’s supposed to be like. a funny scene ig because there’s quirky music playing as nancy walks away and robin stands there looking like visibly discouraged by this interaction. and as robin and nancy’s friendship progresses, nancy only really starts warming up to robin as she proves useful to the mission/getting information. like there’s no moment where nancy is like oh maybe i should apologize for making her feel like i was angry at her and being visibly annoyed that i had to spend time with her. idk it just sucks to me that robin is so heavily coded to be autistic this season and it’s only really used in a “haha nancy finds her so annoying!!” way without any moments of genuine empathy for robin or validation from her new friend

i know most steddie fics usually go the route of gay eddie who's always known and steve who undergoes a bisexual awakening but...hear me out... what if they're both gay and they're each other's awakening?
clueless eddie and steve who both think they're straight. yeah, eddie doesn't exactly have a ton of experience with the ladies because most of the girls in hawkins aren't lining up to get with him. he's fooled around with a few girls after gigs.
fumbling handjobs and sloppy makeout sessions that lead to subpar sex in the back of his van. and yeah, it didn't exactly rock his world but it felt good and if it didn't exactly feel right, he assumes it's because of the situation not the gender. it never crosses his mind that he is allowed to want more. eddie is content with hellfire and his band. he stays busy and doesn't let himself think too much about why he's so disinterested in girls.
steve has experience. he's both hooked up with girls and had a serious relationship. he likes sex and he likes girls. it never occurs to him that maybe something is missing. that his desire to be wanted by girls perhaps overpowers his genuine desire. sure, he notices guys. thinks some are attractive, but it just never occurs to him that it can mean anything.
he's a boy so he's supposed to want girls. sure, he loved nancy and he did enjoy being with her but it didn't exactly set him aflame. he wanted to be loved and desired. she gave him that for a while, until she screams the word bullshit and it reverberates in his brain.
bullshit bullshit bullshit
he's upset because she's right. it is bullshit. so steve swears to change. he decides to be himself and stop trying so hard to be popular and wanted. it's lonely until a gaggle of children and robin buckley show him true friendship. but he still tries to date. flirts with lots of pretty girls and it leaves him emptier and confused than ever.
the upside down returns with a vengeance. steve and eddie are thrown together and eddie finds himself joking with steve. talking with him. seeing him in a new light. steve realizes that eddie is hilarious and nerdy. they settle into a friendship that is strengthened by matching scars and trauma. it's deeper, somehow different than other friendships the boys have had in the past. there's a tension that neither of them understand simmering just under the surface.
they all survive. eddie's name is cleared. life goes on. the boys decide to get a place together. eddie is working at the new record shop in town and steve stays at family video. neither are quite ready to leave hawkins despite everything. they rent a decent apartment together and throw a party, because fuck it. they deserve it.
more people show up than were invited. eddie finds himself on the couch next to steve and some girl they went to high school with. she's cute and she's flirting with both steve and eddie. really laying it on thick. eddie can't quite place the feeling that hits him as he watches her giggle at steve and put her hand on his chest. she's saying something and steve's eyes widen, looking over to eddie.
"eds, you up for it man? it's cool if you aren't." steve tells him, his cheeks flushed. eddie has no fucking idea what this girl has asked. he simply blinks at steve who seems to realize that eddie didn't hear. "she wants to hook up. with, um, the both us. like a threesome. you in?"
"what? both. me and you...?" eddie is floundering. why is this making him short circuit worse than usual?
"yeah, big boy. all three of us." steve smirks and eddie feels his heart racing.
eddie tells them yes. he says it before his brain can even catch up to what he's just agreed to. he's a bit tipsy and horny. and confused and intrigued, but he's shelving that.
when the girl first propositioned him, steve was in shock. she whispered in his ear "can your friend join?" and really filthy images flashed across his brain. things he couldn't fully make sense of. steve didn't understand why he was so keen to get eddie to join them, but as soon as, um, carrie? cherry? no, cherie. as soon as she asked, it was like he couldn't stop himself.
so he asked and eddie's reaction was objectively hilarious but steve couldn't even make fun of him. he was too turned on by the idea of the whole thing.
he takes them both to his room. sets the mood with soft lighting. stares at his best friend. considers that he's a little too excited about eddie being a part of this night, but is in it now. wants it too bad. the threesome, of course. with the girl. he wants to fuck this girl with his best friend- that has to be why is blood is zinging and his mouth is watering.
eddie is nothing if not bold and he straight up asks how this is going to go. no finesse, no flirting. he's in over his head. the girl giggles and tells the boys she wants them to all three enjoy the night. together. the boys just stare as she tries to explain that she means more than just a boring threesome where the dudes don't interact.
"can you guys kiss?" she asks, sweetly. "it would be really fucking hot."
steve and eddie stare at each other. neither of them have really considered kissing each other before. steve studies eddie's face. he has full, soft lips. he's taking ragged breaths, deeply affected by this situation. steve thinks it over for a second. eddie is his best friend. god, he has eyes. he knows eddie is objectively beautiful. prettier than any man has a right to be. he's had the errant thought of how good looking he is. so, why not kiss him?
however, eddie has lost all ability to have coherent thought. the girl and goddammit eddie cannot remember her name, asked them to kiss. eddie and steve. eddie and steve kissing. the thought of this short circuits his brain. steve. his best friend.
the only thing eddie manages to think is that yes, he would love to kiss steve. it's like his world just suddenly made sense for the first time. he wants to kiss steve like he's never really wanted to kiss another person before. it's a desperate longing that is building and building. he's dying of thirst and the only thing that can quench this desire is for eddie to find out how steve tastes. he needs it.
the girl is looking between them, but neither of them see her. steve makes the first step forward and pulls eddie into him. slides one hand around eddie's jaw and the other around his waist. presses his lips against eddie's and kisses him softly.
it's a fucking revelation. it's permanently altering steve's brain chemistry. there is now, only, before the moment steve knew what it felt like to kiss eddie munson, and after. his lips are soft and he tastes like the shitty mixed drinks they'd been drinking all evening. it's intoxicating.
the kiss deepens and eddie feels steve's tongue against his own. his fucking knees nearly buckle. he's swooning like a schoolgirl and he cannot get enough. shit, he's gay. he's gay for his best friend.
kissing steve harrington feels so right that he can't even panic in the moment. eddie thinks he could do this forever. have they been kissing for a minute or for hours? he gently bites steve's lower lip. steve whimpers in response. oh shit. it goes directly to eddie's dick and it cements into his brain.
yeah, i am so fucking gay.
they finally pull apart and just stare at each other. steve glances over to the bed to find it empty. she's gone. steve isn't too worried about that. he's a little more concerned with the news that he is apparently very, very gay. because kissing girls never felt like this. he feels more from kissing eddie than he did in his entire relationship with nancy. it feels natural. it doesn't feel like trying to earn affection or trying to be wanted.
it feels like the first real moment of his life.
"I think I'm gay" they blurt out at the same time, causing them to burst into unrestrained laughter. the kind of laughter that makes them double over and cry.
eddie collapses onto steve's bed while he tries to catch his breath. steve is looking down at him and god, eddie can't believe he didn't realize how much he wants him.
steve climbs onto him and smiles before he kisses him again.
"this feels right, eddie. nothing else has ever felt so real." steve tells him softly.
"me and you, big boy. it is right. it is real, stevie." eddie replies, kissing steve back.
maybe they just had to find each other all along.

Should We Stay or Should We Go? || Prologue
-A ST Rewrite Feat. Steve Harrington x Henderson!OFC-
Tumblr media
Main Masterlist || Series Masterlist
🎲Summary: On the night of November 6th, 1983, Stephanie Henderson decided to walk her little brother’s friend, Will, back home. However… they never arrive. Now, Dustin, Mike and Lucas, and soon the exception of the girl’s ex-best friend, Steve, must band together to find out what happened. Meanwhile, Steph and Will must fight for their survival in this nightmarish version of Hawkins, Indiana.
🎲Chapter Summary: When they interlocked their pinkies none of them ever expected the weirdness that follows the years after. None of them ever expected to start growing apart. None of them ever expected the red string to stay attached. And none of them ever expected that they would be out saving the world with a baseball bat and wings. Yeah... you can’t make this stuff up.
🎲Pairings: Will x Platonic!OFC; Dustin x Sister!OC; Slow burn! Steve x Henderson!OFC (Ex-bestfriends to Lovers); Slow burn! Byler
🎲Rating: Teen-Mature
🎲Word Count: 921 (Small Introduction)
🎲Date: 3/6/24
🎲Warnings: Angst; Swearing; Implied Broken Friendship
🎲A/N: Extremely small chapter, hence why it's just the prologue. I just wanted to show my readers what the big picture is of this story, which is the Steve x OC relationship. However, just like above, this will contained the loving sibling relationship of Dustin, and even Will, between OC. This story also contains Jopper (a personal fav), Jancy, Mileven and the slow burn of Byler (I got to give this boy some love and if you think Will has been a background character for the last few seasons like I have then don't you worry! I'm giving Will a time for him to shine throughout this fic). Anyway, don't want this paragraph to be longer than the actual chapter. Lol. Enjoy!

Pinky Promise.
It’s a bond between two people, a vow that’s taken so it shall not be broken. Childish, you know, but to a small kid it means everything. When they locked their pinkies together, muttering their promises to one another, they both had barely turned five, barely ready to take on the world head first.
But a promise was a promise— Yet a pinky promise was so much more. It holds so much more weight than crossing your heart or giving a handshake.
At least it was to these two very best friends…
.
.
.
“Wow.” The blue eyed girl said, genuinely surprised (She can’t even believe their conversation is so calming in a situation like this). “That explains so much. And… you never mentioned that to me before?”
“Well, can you blame me?” He asked, with a small smile and laugh. “I think it kinda does. I think, like, right out of the gate, like, I’m super confident. But I’m also, like, an idiot. Which is just…” He shrugs. “I mean, it’s a brutal combination. But, I mean, the good news is, I get a big enough thump on my head, I can change, you know? I can learn. I can crawl forward.”
She noticed his pace was slowing, and his brown eyes of his were becoming distant. “Steve?”
“Listen–” He stops them both, face looking like a lost puppy now. “I guess what I’m trying to say in a really stupid, roundabout way is, um… is thank you.”
She tilts her head, confused. “Thank you?” She watches him nod, adding fuel to her emotion. “For...?”
His face softens. “For giving my head the biggest thump of its life two years ago.” He chuckles. “Nancy, you know, she gave me the push, but you, Stephanie, gave me the thump I needed. It’s changed my life. And now I’m crawling forward in a way I never thought I could achieve. Slowly.”
And now he’s frowning, looking down at himself, engulfing himself in the glum. “I just wonder sometimes... you know, if... if I had just opened my eyes before I met Nancy, would things have been different? Like… part of me thinks we would’ve made it without our relationship falling apart.”
“Steve–” She croaks, teary eyed and shocked.
“And… you know what the craziest… most messed up part of the story is?”
“What?”
His lips curled up just a bit. “Remember the dream I told you about? About the Winnebago? Seeing the country with my six lil’ nuggets? It’s all true. Every last word. But… the mess up part?” He swallows, also getting emotional. “The mess up part is when I first thought of that dream… is that… you’re there. You’ve always been there.”
“Steve–”
“And that…” He smiles. “That’s my pinky promise to you, Miss Stephanie Henderson.”
.
.
.
The creature shrieked above, its claws waving around frantically –trying to get a nick out of him– as he held it back with some piping. He watched the pupils go all ‘cat-like’, fangs coming out that he swears were growing with each scream.
He was struggling, he knows this, and he knows he has to buy the kid some time to get a radio signal out to his girlfriend, but he was slipping, fuck it. However, he knows deep in his heart he can’t back down from this.
His jaw clenched and his eyes flash with determination. “I don’t care what you’ve become! I ain’t leaving you, Henderson!” He shouted, hoping his words would get through to her. “That’s a pinky promise.”
.
.
.
“I’m helping you and Dustin out.” He insisted, knowing damn well that she didn’t even want him near her brother, let alone near herself.
She sends him a look, skeptical, on edge. “Why?”
“Look, I know you don’t want to talk–”
“Damn, right.”
“Steph.” He says, stepping in front of her way to get her attention. “We’ll just put this on the backburner. Right now, and I mean it, I just want to help you and Dustin, keep you guys safe. Pinky Promise.”
.
.
.
“Steve–”
“I’m not going anywhere.” He says, while playing with his hands, nervously, worriedly. “Not until I know you’re okay.”
She frowns apologetically. “You know that might be a while.”
“I know.”
“I have Dustin and my mom, you don’t have to stay here.”
“I know.” He breaks eye contact. “But what if I want to?”
That made her chuckle. “Well… if you want to.” She says, making them both smile. “Fine sleeping in a chair?”
He nods. “If that’s what I’ll have to do.” He replies, making her hum.
She raises an eyebrow. “Is that a pinky promise?”
“Yeah.” His expression grows. “Pinky promise.”
.
.
.
But what if you break it? The promise? What if you don’t follow through? That is the unfortunate part of this story. The promise was to stay together forever, to make their friendship last a lifetime. For them, they were two peas in a pod, polar opposites that still attached themselves to one another… until they couldn’t.
When the boy decided to become a King, the girl became a peasant. The boy was showered with love and affection, and the girl was on a quest of loneliness that became bitter.
This was a story about Steve Harrington and Stephanie Henderson.
A story, where no matter what happens, the red string still stays attached to their pinkies despite their attempts to take it off.
This was story where the two of them decided to save the world–
Their families–
Their friends–
.
.
.
And their friendship.
(TBC)

Ronance headcanons?
oh my goodness of course i do hehehehe (if you cant tell I love them)
i am ignoring the canon plot and using the bits that are convenient to me because I do what I want
Before Robin realized she liked Nancy, she truly didn't understand the deep level of fury she felt against Jonathan. It made no sense because they were friends and she had so much fun with him! Except whenever him and Nancy were together suddenly she had the urge to rip her hair out
Nancy figured her feelings out before Robin did. I know this is controversial and I do agree Robin fell first Nancy fell harder. However, I think the fear of falling for someone who she loves and cares for very much who if Nancy finds out Robin could lose her both from being a lesbian and for being in love with her, just manifests in denial. This is also compounded by the fact that she's convinced she likes Vickie who conveniently is out of reach and (presumed) straight, so if Vickie wasn't into her she wouldn't be risking as much since she's not planning to confess in the first place
Nancy on the other hand very quickly figured it out. After losing Barb, her fear manifested less in denial and more as an overdrive of all her emotions because if she doesn't figure it out quickly she might lose Robin before she could even say a word, so the moment she falls she figured it out then and there. She doesn't want another situation where she didn't tell a person she loves how much they mean to her
that night she had a panic attack that was BRUTAL like she sobbed for hours realizing she's probably going to have to choose between being true to herself and a relationship with her parents. she already knew she liked girls, she figured it out after barb's death, but liking someone new felt so tangible. robin heard her crying and didn't ask, just sat with her for the rest of the night tracing her thumb in circles on her palm
A fluffier one: Nancy plans to confess but Robin does it before she does on accident. Like she's just talking about journalism and how much she enjoys investigative journalism and Robin is just like "I'm in love with you." My assumption is that Robin had already come out to her beforehand but she was just horrified. Nancy was shocked but then was like "you beat me to it <3"
Nancy had not come out to Robin yet, she was planning to do it with her confession, and she had already talked to Eddie (platonic soulmates edancy lover till I die) and talked to Steve so she was prepared but Robin was just FLABBERGASTED
this girl has the most godawful gaydar known to mankind so despite nancy staring at her with heart eyes on a daily basis she was in shock
hAND KISSES I WILL NOT STOP WITH THE NANCY GIVING HAND KISSES HC
wrist kisses too her favorite thing to do is hold robin's fingers or pulse against her lips and just feel her warmth
robin is really warm, unreasonably so, and nancy is really cold
they both love shoving their noses into each others neck and just breathing in each others smells
robin loves rubbing the fact that she's dating nancy fucking wheeler into people's faces
"you're better at me then this???? well I pulled nancy wheeler stevie!! and I actually kept her unlike you so shut up"
her and eddie are constantly at war at who her favorite person is
"you already have stevie this is MY emotional support comphet fruit"
robin hangs over her shoulders while she writes and just reads her words
there was a solid bit of time that robin thought eddie and nancy were together. she accidentally asked them and triggered the longest giggle battle she has ever seen seen
bisexual nancy or lesbian nancy, she's filled with so much comphet
fully convinced that romantic feelings for guys and platonic feelings for girls felt the same
sometimes she feels guilty and feels like she's 'replacing' barb but the feeling lessens by the day
robin gets anxiety attacks every once in a while and nancy knowing exactly what to do when it happens really calms her down. like it reminds her that the person she loves is the most capable ever
robin loves nuzzling herself into nancy's stomach because cold and nice
poor, poor steve. the amount of rants he's heard from both sides
"nancy is so amazing and cool!" "robin is so pretty when she talks <3"
Mostly Robin for obvious reasons but jfc it's concerning at this point
that poor man needs to start charging per hour at this point
I will never shut up if I keep going so I'll cut it off right here.

Nancy’s Twin (Stranger things Fanfic)
Description: Mickey Wheeler. The youngest twin of Nancy for 20 minutes. Just because they're twins, doesn't mean anything to Mickey. Nancy is pretty and popular. Mickey is decent and the "Do not **** with me" gal plus a total geek like her baby brother Mike who cannot beat her in arcades. Of course she loves her little brother Mike, which is why she's involve in this situation.
Warning: cursing and violence. If anything else let me know.
ENJOY. Let me know if there's errors or punctuation errors.
Author: Here’s Chapter 1 :3
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Chapter one: The Start of it All
November 6, 1983, Hawkins, Indiana.
Years past since the Jaws movie for Mickey, and not once has she past the opportunity to watch more horror movies. During those years, she would give her Dad a chance to watch horror movies as long as she takes her the times he goes during when he's done from work. Of course he said no that she's too young to watch them, but a little deal was made with a 8 year old girl and her 37 year old Dad.
"Daddy if you let me watch the horror movies you go to with addition of snacks, I won't tell mom you went to see Jaws." Mickey keeping the professional stance with her notebook hugged to her chest.
"How do I know she'll believe you honey?" Ted was just ready to leave the house.
"I can recite the entire movie to her step by step."
"Ok I can take you, but no snacks."
"Did I mention that I know you're the one that took Mom's 20$ that she was gonna use for our candy bags on Christmas to buy yourself a 10 pack of beer?"
That's how the deal started. Every certain days, Ted would use his breaks during his work to pick up Mickey from school and go see movies.
Movies like Deep Red, Race with the Devil, Rocky horror picture show, legend of the werewolf, terror of Frankenstein, Jaws 2, don't hang up, and assault! Jack the Ripper.
Her favorites started listing like crazy.
Carrie, King Kong, The clown Murders, Halloween (she's really into Micheal Myers), Alien, Tourist Trap (It did scare her a little), Dracula, Friday the 13th, The shining, Evil Dead, Poltergeist, and Creep-show.
Of course she still watched other movies like Rocky, Freak Friday, Star Wars, The rescuers, Pete's Dragon, Cinderella, Grease , Lord of the rings, Battle star Galactica, Star Trek, Muppet Movie, Lupin III, Indiana Jones, Annie, The dark crystal and Pop eye.
You can say she found ways to watch movies almost every day. She would save up her money from the amount of toy cars she sells to kids in her school including secretly selling money worth of candies from Halloween to buy herself movie tapes to rewatch.
Until the years gone by and she just stopped the deal with her Dad. Ted didn't know why, but she just acted quiet for almost a whole year. He didn't make it a big deal and decided to just let it be.
Mickey stopped having physical touches with her family after she was 10. No hugs, no shoulder pats, no surprises, no grabbing her face to kiss it. No touching.
On her 11th birthday, Ted gave her a cassette tape player that she can hear music in. Of course Nancy just wanted new dolls and dresses, but all Mickey wanted was the opposite. She would never want to wear a dress again.
Now 8 years of complete hell was coming and going for Mickey. In her room listening to The Poppy Family as she reads a spider man comic while laying on her bed wearing a graffiti t shirt.
"I can't help crying"
Honestly, Mickey can relate to that one sentence.
"You are my whole , babe"
"My heart and soul, babe"
Distracted from the song, she just tosses the comic to the floor and keeps listening to the song instead. Even at the age of 16, she's curious to how people find such a perfect partner. After watching The Goodbye Girl, Mickey never really sees herself falling in love with a man. Of course she got a huge crush on certain guys from movies, but in an actual relationship, hell no.
After everything that's happened in those 8 years, Mickey would never in her life settle with the boys in Hawkins.
A slight open of her door snaps her back to reality. She removes her headphones and lifts her self up to see it's Dustin, one of her brother's friends.
"You need something Dustin?"
"Actually I wanted to ask if you wanted this last slice of pizza? It's sausage and pepperoni." He says with his adorable childlike smile.
Mickey gets off her head and walks to him. Looking down at the pizza, it's pretty good to eat, so she takes it and thanks him.
"For this free pizza, I shall honor you one of the great trades of them all good sir."
Dustin is already excited.
"What would that trade shall be, oh Lady of the Village Halla?"
Mickey goes to a box under her bed, takes something out of it, and gives it to him.
"8 dollars in cash." She said with a smile.
"Holy shit!! You serious?!"
"It's also a thank you for buying me some big league gum and skittles. Spend wisely my freind."
He smiles and starts to leave, while she goes to eat the pizza, which is pretty good for a free slice.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"There's something wrong with your sister."
Mike looks at Dustin with confusion. When it comes to having two sisters, it's a little hard to know which one any person is talking about depending how you describe them. Mickey and Nancy always have something wrong with them, but simple things.
Like when Dustin asked what's wrong with Mickey of why she allows her brother and his friends hug her but not anyone else, or the time when he asked what's wrong with Nancy with why her and Mickey don't get along.
"What are you taking about?" Mike asked.
"Nancy has a stick up her butt."
Now he knows which sister he's talking about.
Lucas adds, " Yeah. It's because she's been dating that douchebag, Steve Harrington." While preparing to ride his bike back home.
"She's turning into a real jerk Mike." Dustin getting on his bike.
"She's always been a real jerk." Mike clarifies.
Dustin disagrees. "She used to be cool. Remember when she dressed up as an elf for our Elder Tree campaign."
"That was four years ago!!"
"Just sayin!!" Before he could leave, he turns to Mike.
"If there was a chance I can date your sister, can I date her?"
Mike raises his brow with a "wtf" look.
"Which one?"
"Obviously the badass one. Mickey."
"Oh my god no Dustin, I mean she is a badass but I'm not allowing you to date her."
"She likes me!!"
"As a brother, and you're too young for her plus it's a Hell no!!"
"4 years Mike!! 4 years!!"
"You can't blame him Mike." Lucas says with a side smile.
"Bye!!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Nancy don't even lie about stealing my damn lip balm, either give it back or I'm taking one of your pants as my own."
Nancy holds Barbara on the phone again and looks at her with an impatient look on her face.
"Why do even have one? You hate makeup."
Mickey raises her brow.
"For your information, the lip balm keeps my hot blood lips from drying like a mummy while makeup is just an enhancement for certain girls to wear to impress their target."
"Their target?"
"Yeah. Boys, boys with bikes, boys with cool cars, boys with CuTe hair, boys that are nice, and boys who you just feel In LoVe."
Mickey mocking the words "cute" and "love".
"Is this about me dating Steve? He's nice and is really cute, and his hair is cute too. Sounds like someone is just jealous that I have a boyfriend."
Mickey just laughs.
"HAH!! First of all I was just telling you to give me back my lip balm, and second of all, I don't see any reason to be jealous over a guy that probably doesn't even use actual hairspray for his hair."
She looks around for the lip balm until she sees it on a table close to the door. As she grabs it, she looks back to Nancy.
"Does Mom and Dad even know you have a boyfriend?"
Nancy eyes widen a bit, which means to Mickey that it's a no. Why is she not surprised? Nancy tries to counter a comeback.
"Do they even know you have a monster truck without their knowledge?" She smiles.
"I'm making money out of that badass truck, thank you so much for reminding me." As she leaves, she hears Nancy mutter "druggie" before she continues on the phone with her freind. As Mickey closes the door, she mutters "Princess" before she opens her door and closes it to lay back down on her bed.
It is getting late so she'll have to sleep. That means she'll have to wish graduation comes quick. She changes into a simple oversize Christine movie shirt and heads to bed.
"Please just for once let tomorrow be okay." She whispers before closing her eyes. The entire room only lighten by a nightlight of a candle that makes the whole room smell like roses.
Let tomorrow be okay? If only Mickey Wheeler knew.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hope y’all love it!!! I’m copying and pasting these chapters to tumblr since they’re from my WattPad story originally. How do you guys like Mickey? Is she likeable? Just asking!! I'll be sure to post Chapter 2
Also the song used is called Which way you going Billy by The Poppy Family

Munson's Mixtape
Tumblr media
MASTERLIST
Pairing: Eddie Munson x Cunningham!Reader
Word Count: 3,155
Warnings: None.
Summary: Chrissy has been acting weird, and like a good big sister Y/N drives to Hawkins from Notre Dame to check in on her. Only to find out she has plans to meet up with Eddie Munson. Things take a turn for the worse and now Y/N gets wrapped in to the horrors of Hawkins. Hey, at least she has the company of the guitarist she was sweet on back in high school for comfort.
Author’s Note: I really struggled to write this chapter for some reason. This is from Eddie's point of view, the following chapter will show the reader's at the same time this chapter takes place. Hope you guys enjoy!
Track Fourteen
Eddie never thought he'd regret his tattoos. He always thought that they were a reminder of who he was, or what he liked, at the time he got them. He loved the ink on his skin, but now he was regretting one tattoo in particular. Just a bit. When he first got the bats on his arm, he thought about Ozzy Osbourne. Now, every time he would look down at his arm, he would be reminded about how Steve Harrington was almost torn to shreds by these pyscho demobats. At the very least, Steve got his Ozzy moment. He bit the bat before beating it to death, the guy might look like a walking Calvin Klein ad, but that was some of the most metal shit Eddie had ever seen.
A massive colony of demobats was guarding the entrance to the gate back to regular old Hawkins, so that left Eddie, Nancy, Robin, and Steve stuck in the Upside Down. They had run for cover under a this version of Skull Rock, shielding them from the bats above. Eddie could hear their bone chilling squeals all around him, the sickening sound of wings flapping as the bats searched for them. As much as he hated his current situation, he was happy about one thing. Y/N was safe above ground. Eddie just hoped she wouldn't do something stupid like follow him down here, the idea of her getting attacked by the demobats made him sick to his stomach.
After what felt like an eternity, the sound of wings flapping became quieter. It looked like the colony had flown away. They all decided it was time for them to move, apparently Nancy Wheeler of all people had guns in her bedroom. Nothing should really surprise Eddie anymore, but that certainly did. So now they were off trekking through the woods, cold, wet, and dirty from the fight earlier. Nancy and Robin were up ahead, and that left Steve and Eddie trailing behind them. Eddie didn't know Harrington very well back when they were still in school together. He always assumed the guy was a dick, especially after he heard about his friends spray painting Nancy 'The Slut' Wheeler on the Hawkins movie theater. But that opinion has changed now.
"Eddie. Eddie. Hey man, uh... Listen, I just uh... I just want to say thanks. For saving my ass back there." Steve said as he jogged up to stand beside him.
"Shit, you saved your own ass man. I mean, that was a real Ozzy move you pulled back there." Eddie could admit he was impressed.
"Ozzy?" Steve asked. Eddie had to control himself from rolling his eyes.
"When you took a bite out of that bat." Eddie said, Steve still looked confused.
"Ozzy Osbourne? Black Sabbath? He bit a bat's head off on stage." Steve looked disgusted as he said it.
"It's very metal, what you did. That's all I'm saying." That was a high compliment, coming from Eddie.
"Thanks." Steve replied.
"Henderson told me you were a badass. Insisted on the matter, in fact." Eddie said begrudgingly.
"Wait, Henderson said that?" Steve asked.
"Oh yeah. Shit. Kid worships you, dude. Like, you have no idea. It's kinda annoying, to be honest. And Y/N, after you guys showed up, we talked a bit. She said you were a nice guy, compared to some of the other dudes on the team that is." That part gutted Eddie a bit, how Y/N talked about him. Right before they went to sleep one night, she told a story about how Steve had given her a ride home when Matthew Grayson left early from the game without her. They didn't know each other well, but he offered her the ride anyway. She told Eddie that he said it wouldn’t be right for her to walk home alone in the dark, and he didn't put any moves on her. Eddie thought the bar must have been incredibly low for that to be considered something to praise, but he didn't say anything.
"And, I don't know why I really care, what they think, but uh, guess I got a little jealous, Steve. I guess I couldn't accept the fact that that Steve Harrington was actually... a good dude. Rich parents, popular, chicks love him. Not a douche? No way, man. No way. That, like, flies in the face of all laws in the universe and my personal Munson doctrine." There was a brief moment of silence after Eddie's speech, and normally he wasn't prone to word vomit, but he couldn't stop himself from talking anyway.
"Still super jealous, by the way. Which is why I would have never jumped in that lake to save your ass. Not under any, uh... normal circumstances." A growl waved through the distance, they both stopped for a moment, fear rippled through Eddie's body. He saw Steve continue on, so he followed.
"Nope. Outside of DnD, I am no hero. I see danger, I turn heel and run..." Eddie started before Steve interrupted.
"That's not true." Steve replied.
"Yeah man, it totally is." Eddie scoffed, he didn't want his sympathy.
"You didn't run after Chrissy died, not right after that is. Max saw you leave with Y/N, hours after it happened. You could have run then, but you stayed with her." Steve sounded so sure of himself, like what he said was an absolute truth. Eddie wished he had that confidence in himself.
"I almost did. I almost ran. Shit, everything in me wanted to jump in my van and get right out of Dodge, but Y/N wouldn't budge. I couldn't... I couldn't leave her like that, man." That night would haunt Eddie forever. The image of Y/N holding her sister's corpse, singing songs from the Wizard of Oz. She was the only reason he stayed, she was the only reason he had any ounce of courage throughout this whole endeavor.
"That proves my point. You didn't run then, and you didn't run when I was pulled under. You jumped right in. Give yourself a break, man." Steve said as he lightly tapped Eddie's chest.
"See? The only reason I came in here was 'cause of the ladies in our party. Those two, came in straight after you. And Y/N, I know she was looking at me from the shore line. Now, I was too ashamed to be the one who stayed behind. I didn't want to row that boat back to her and show her how much of a coward I really am. But Wheeler right there, she didn't waste a second. Not one second. She just dove right in. Now, I don't know what happened between you two, but if I were you, I would get her back. 'Cause that was unambiguous a sign of true love as these cynical eyes have ever seen." Eddie said, it more for himself than for Steve. It wasn't that he didn't believe what he said, he did, 100%. It was just that if Steve Harrington couldn't get the girl, what shot in hell did Eddie have?
"Well what about you and Y/N?" Steve asked defensively.
"What about us, man?" Us. There wasn't an us, not between Eddie and Y/N.
"You say that what Nance did was an unambiguous sign of true love, but you can't see what's standing in right front of you, dude." Steve replied. Eddie rolled his eyes and started to walk away, he didn't want to have this conversation with Steve at the moment. But Harrington grabbed his arm, holding him still.
"I'm serious. It's so obvious Y/N loves you, but you still haven't made a move." Steve said has he let go of Eddie's arm.
"Listen man, I know she cares about me. I'm not that blind, but... Y/N doesn't love me the way I love her. I've loved her, silently, for years. Less than a week of close proximity true love does not make." It was Steve's turn to roll his eyes at Eddie.
"Y/N's liked you long before this week Eddie. She used to get shit for it from the guys on the team back when she was in school. Even when she was with Grayson, she only had eyes for you. We could all see it. She'd stare at you from her seat at the cafeteria, I noticed it back when I still sat with the team. Grayson always used to bitch about it, said he wasn't going to lose his girl to Eddie 'The Freak' Munson. But she was never his girl, she was yours. Even though neither of you admitted it, it was always there." Eddie couldn't breathe for a moment. He felt as if his heart stopped beating, right there in the Upside Down, right before it starting pumping again. It was loud, beating so loud in his chest. There was no way, no possible way Y/N had liked him for that long. Steve had to be wrong, but... the more he thought about it. The more he allowed himself to think about it, Eddie had hope it was true. Maybe, just maybe, she loved him just like he loved her.
Eddie didn't have much time to ponder the complexities of possibly requited love before he felt the ground beneath him start to shake. Robin was yelling something in the distance, and then Nancy took off in a sprint through the woods. Steve and Eddie looked at each other once more before following her through the trees. Once they made it to the clearing, Eddie and Steve sighed in relief. They could see the Wheeler house in the distance from where they stood, and the group took off running to get their destination.
Eddie slowly walked through the door of the Wheeler house, nearly every inch of the walls was covered by the same creepy vines that infested the Upside Down. Nancy and Robin went upstairs to go find her stash of guns, while Steve and Eddie remained downstairs.
"Mom, it was Jason. I know it was him." That was Y/N's voice, Eddie could recognize it anywhere. Was she here? With her mother of all people? Eddie followed the sound to the living room, but no one was there.
"Shut your mouth young lady. Jason is a good, sweet, God fearing young man. He loved your sister! He wouldn't make a pact with the Devil, stop spreading these lies." That must be Mrs. Cunningham's voice. As faint as it was, her voice sounded like nails scratching on a chalkboard.
"I'm not lying! She told me they fought a lot, and Jason was paranoid she was going to leave him! See here, I have Chrissy's diary..." Y/N's voice was cutting out. Eddie walked further into the living room, trying to get her voice back.
"That's the only explanation! Jason signed his name in the Devil's black book!" Eddie's mind was reeling with questions. Why was she pinning this on Jason? She knew he had nothing to do with Vecna, and as much as Eddie didn't like the guy, he was innocent. And what was this talk about the Devil? What the hell was going on up there?
"Are you sure about this young lady?" That was Chief Powell. That's when it clicked in his mind, she was covering for him. She was giving Eddie an out if they couldn't prove his innocence, and Jason was her scapegoat.
"Yes. Something is wrong with Hawkins, so horribly wrong. We all know it, but are too afraid to admit it. I don't know how Jason made his evil pact, but it's the only thing that makes sense..." Her voice cut out again for a moment, before resuming again.
"Jason is trying to pin this on Eddie, he knows what people in town think of him. It would be so easy... but he didn't fool me. He won't get away with this." Eddie knew he should feel guilty, but he didn't. If it was him versus Jason in a legal battle over Vecna's crimes, Jason's family at least had money, and he didn't. They could afford a good lawyer. They wouldn't try to cover it up like they would with Eddie.
"Alright then. If you wouldn't mind going into the kitchen with the others Miss. Cunningham, I'd like a word with your mother." Chief Powell said with a calm voice. Eddie didn't understand how he could sound so collected after hearing a story like that, but he wouldn't question it. All of the sudden he heard Steve shouting from the other room.
"Dustin! Dustin! Dustin! Can you hear me? Dustin! Du- Hello? Hel... Hello?" Steve was in the kitchen, screaming at nothing. Robin and Nancy came running from upstairs to see what was going on.
"Maybe he really does have rabies." said Robin as she stared at Steve's manic display.
"Steve, what are you doing?" Nancy asked.
"He's here. Henderson. That little shit, he's here. He's like... He's in the walls or something. Just listen." Steve replied.
"Yea, I just heard Y/N's voice too. She was in the other room. Shit, her mom and Chief Powell are all there too." Eddie replied. Steve shushed him, and they all stayed quiet. That's when he heard Dustin's distorted voice, just like how Y/N's was.
"That brings us to the question you first raised. How and why is there a gate at Lover's Lake? Let's analyze. What do Eleven and Vecna have in common?" Yea, that was definitely Dustin's voice.
They all started screaming his name, walking around trying to see if they could get them to hear their calls.
"Alright, either this kid can't hear us or he's being a total douchebag." Steve said, clearly annoyed with his plan to get Dustin's attention failing.
"Will found a way." They all turned to look at Nancy when she said it.
"What?" Steve asked.
"Will. He found a way to speak to Joyce through the lights." Nancy ran off to try and turn some of the house lights on, and Eddie had no clue what she was talking about. How could you talk to someone through the lights? It sounded like something straight out of Poltergeist. Eddie didn't question her thought process, she had experience with this shit before, so he kept his mouth shut. Nancy kept turning the light switch on and off, but nothing was happening. That was until Steve flashed his light on to the chandelier above them.
"Guys? You seeing this?" There was an orange glow surrounding the light fixture, it looked as if there was glitter bouncing around the air. Nancy lifted her hand to touch it, and the glow began to sparkle around her fingers, it reminded Eddie of that Disney movie his parents took him to see as a kid. It was Peter Pan, and this glow looked like Tinkerbell's fairy dust.
"Woah..." They all stood around Nancy and her fairy dust, Dustin's faint voice in the background. They all lifted their hands up to touch the light, and Eddie could feel a warm vibration throughout his fingertips.
"It tickles..." Steve remarked, one hand in the orange glow and the other holding the flashlight.
"It feels, kind of good." Robin replied. Eddie agreed, it did feel good. Everything was cold and half dead in the Upside Down, this was the first thing that felt alive since he got down here.
"Does anyone know Morse Code?" Nancy asked. The others shrugged their shoulders, but Eddie remembered something his uncle taught him once. Uncle Wayne had an old telegraph in his trailer, and Eddie used to mess around with it as a kid. He asked his Uncle if he knew how to use it. He told him that he had forgotten most of it, but he remembered one thing, and he taught it to Eddie.
"Wait, does SOS count? Is that... is that good?" Eddie replied.
"Yea Eddie, that's perfect." Nancy replied. Eddie nodded and started tapping his fingers into the light, three short taps, followed by three longs taps, and then three shorts taps again. Eddie could hear the faint voice of a girl as he was tapping.
"You said you followed Vecna through lights, right?" The girls voice asked.
"Yea why?" Dustin replied, his voice as distinct as Y/N's was in the living room.
"Because I think he's here." Eddie didn't stop his tapping, hoping Henderson would figure out it was them.
"It's working." Robin said, her eyes fixated on the flicking light.
"Hey, uh, remember when I said they wouldn't be stupid enough to go through Watergate?" The group scoffed as they heard Dustin's distorted voice throughout the room. As if they had much of a choice.
"Yeah?" Lucas replied.
"I overestimated them." Dustin said in a disappointed tone. Eddie rolled his eyes, Henderson could be such a little punk.
"How do you know it's them? What if it's Vecna or something else? What if they're trying to trick us?" That was Y/N's voice, and as much as Eddie loved how protective she was, he really needed her to stop questioning Dustin.
"It's Eddie. I know Steve, Robin, and Nancy don't know Morse Code, but he knows S.O.S. Nancy knows about Will communicating through the lights when he went to the Upside Down, it has to be them." Dustin replied.
"Eddie? Eddie if that's you can you show me a sign? If it's Vecna you can kindly go fuck yourself, I'm not in the mood for this." Eddie could imagine Y/N standing there in the kitchen, hands on her hips and a serious look on her face. Eddie chuckled to himself, and thought of a way to show her it was him. That's when an idea popped in his head, it was a long shot but it was the only thing he'd think would work.
He began tapping the beat to For Whom The Bell Tolls with each light fixture. If this wouldn't work as a sign, he didn't think anything else could.
"What are you doing, man?" Steve asked.
"It's Y/N's favorite song." Eddie replied, tapping away. He didn't know if she'd recognize it from the drums alone, but he prayed she did. He couldn't figure out a way to tap the lyrics, but he didn't have to.
"Make his fight on the hill in the early day... constant chill deep inside... Shouting gun, on they run through the endless grey. On they fight, for they're right, yes, but who's to say... Oh God Eddie baby you're a genius!" He could hear Y/N cheer. Steve gave Eddie a knowing look, but he ignored it.
"Hey! Meet us in Nancy's room, I've got an idea!" Dustin yelled.
Eddie stopped his tapping and followed Nancy and the rest of the group to the stairs, hoping that whatever plan Dustin cooked up with would work. Any minute longer in the Upside Down was a minute too much in his opinion.

"... And that's what she's doing," Steve finished explaining the current supernatural happening, El trying to find Eddie in his own mind.
Wayne took in the explanation silently, as he'd done every other time. If it weren't for El's demonstration earlier, he wasn't sure how believable any of it would be, but Wayne knew they weren't lying.
Or, well, he hoped he did.
The man nodded slowly, fidgeting with the necklace in his hand. Dustin had held onto that pick necklace until he saw Eddie's uncle a day after everything happened, and Wayne hadn't let it go since.
Everyone else had explained what happened since '83. Nancy had said he'd been a little amused by being right about a Creel doing it all, he'd just missed a generation.
He'd also been reasonably horrified when Nancy and Robin talked about Starcourt, but that had been the worst it got until this spring break.
"Say, Harrington," he spoke after a few minutes of radio static filling the room. He didn't take his eyes off of his nephew on the opposite corner of the hospital room. "I reckon I oughta thank you."
Steve turned sharply to face him, frowning in confusion. "What…?"
"I don't think that many people would actually carry my kid out of any kind of situation," he shrugged. "Even before all this."
Steve nodded slowly. "Sir—" A glance from Wayne, eyebrow raised, had him correcting, "Wayne…" He sighed. "Truth is, two weeks ago—" before all of this— "I'm not sure I would have…"
"You didn't know Eddie," he said, as if Steve admitting that he wouldn't have tried to help Eddie somehow was normal. "I mean, you knew of him, what people said about him, just like I knew of you."
He grimaced. Whatever Eddie had told Wayne had come from his highschool years, and Steve knew there wasn't much good there. Or maybe it'd come from later, from the ridiculous amount of first dates. He knew what that looked like.
"It's not all bad, Steve," Wayne reassured, glancing at him with a smile. "Not from Eddie."
The questioning noise that escaped him made Wayne's smile widen.
"Eddie always said, 'Harrington's always tryin' too hard to please someone'." Wayne's impression of Eddie was pretty good, making Steve snort. "He never elaborated on that, by the way, always shrugged it off when I asked what he meant."
Steve looked down, focusing on the spotless tile of the hospital room. "I, uh, I didn't know he noticed that." What else could he say? Eddie apparently had him figured out a long time ago.
"He talks big and he's always been wary," he smirked, "But he's always been curious about people too."
Steve nodded and let the silence settle between them. He didn't know Eddie as well as he'd like to, but hopefully he could remedy that soon… Assuming Eddie would want to hang out, which he also hoped would be the case. Steve had admitted a while ago that he needed a friend his age that wasn't Robin or his ex.
A sniffle came from Eddie's bedside as El took off the bandana from her eyes some time later. Wayne was up and next to her faster than Steve had expected, but he was just a second behind him.
"You okay?" Steve asked, standing behind her chair as El reached to grab a tissue from the table off to the side.
"Yes." Her reply was a little muffled by the tissue. She did her thing a bit longer than usual, but there was no noise of discomfort or any complaints, and her nosebleed wasn't that bad, so he'd let her be while he talked to Wayne. "Sorry, I got distracted."
"Distracted?"
El nodded, tossing the bloodied tissue away. She looked at Wayne with a smile and shiny eyes.
"He is in his memories, so I didn't talk to him," she explained, "But he is resting. He will wake up soon."
It was like the whole room relaxed a little, the air feeling less tense than before. Steve felt his shoulders relax, and it seemed that Wayne's entire body loosened and he held himself upright with his hands on Eddie's bed.
Steve knew from Dustin that he'd been working as little as he could afford to, worried about Eddie and staying at the hospital with him.
El stood slowly, surprising both men by hugging Wayne. She didn't wait for him to return the hug.
"I saw some of his memories," she announced, only letting Wayne go enough to look at his face. "You were in a lot of the good ones."
"Lord knows he didn't get many of those as a kid," he grumbled, his expression creasing with whatever thought he just had.
"He had you," she said, in that firm way she had when no one could really change her mind. It made Steve smile. "I think he is lucky to have you."
Wayne cleared his throat, returning El's hug a little awkwardly.
"Pretty sure he's been my favorite person since he learned to talk," he admitted with a choked laugh. "Only ever stops when he's asleep, and sometimes not even then."
Steve snorted, drawing attention to himself and making El chuckle.
"Yeah, I can see that," Steve said softly. "He always seems to have something to say."
"I'm glad I can help him say some of it," Wayne sighed, looking at Eddie and taking in the visible bandages in his arms and left cheek. His torso had even more bandages hidden under the hospital gown and the thin blanket.
"He is healing. He is safe," El reminded him, as if she could sense where Wayne's thoughts were going. Wayne nodded absently, not taking his eyes off of his nephew. "But you worry, anyway." She was smiling when Wayne looked at her. "You are good for him."
"I try to be," he mumbled, moving to sit on the other side of Eddie's bed.
El nodded, thoughtful for a moment. "You remind me of Hopper." She glanced at Steve before adding, "You two worry a lot."
Wayne frowned, apparently confused by the comparison, and turned to Steve. "Her adoptive father," he explained. Steve could only guess that Wayne filled a fairly similar role in Eddie's life. He had no idea where Eddie's biological father could have been, but the fact the man had taught a kid how to hotwire a car didn't sit well with him.
Before Wayne could reply through his surprise, a knock at the door drew everyone's attention and Hopper poked his head in.
"El, we gotta go." He nodded at Steve and Wayne in acknowledgment and let out a weary sigh when his eyes fell on Eddie. "He okay?"
"He is resting," she replied. El pulled the hood of her jacket over her head, waving to the two of them and following her dad out.
"I should probably go too," Steve said. He'd been the only one in the room in the times he visited Eddie before, and he found El and Hopper at the front desk this morning. He wasn't sure what to say to Wayne now that the silence was settling with no one else in the room to break it. "Let you get some rest."
"Not that these chairs help much with that," Wayne sighed. "But thanks."
Steve nodded, walking to the door with his hands in the pockets of his windbreaker.
"Steve."
He turned back to face Wayne. The man was staring at him with narrowed eyes, looking for something in him.
"Just because you think you wouldn't have saved my nephew before all this," he spoke sternly, "It doesn't make the fact you did it last week any less important, alright?"
Steve nodded, unsure once again of what to say. He wiggled his fingers in a wave and left, Wayne's words bouncing in his head all the way to his big empty house.

babysit duties pt.2 [eddie munson]
part 1
hi lovelies <3 I actually wanted to wait for the last season to come out make the second part but I couldn't wait, so please enjoy <3
pairing: Eddie munson x female!reader
warning: slow burn, kinda angst
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
While you were making your signature pasta you couldn’t help but look at the walkie-talkie, something in your guts was telling you that it was going terribly wrong.
The television was on a low volume but you could still hear the faint talking over the situation in Hawkins, how Eddie now is a suspect and that 2 people have died. You sigh deeply, knowing it’s not true. You finally had enough and grab the walkie talkie “is everything okay?” you ask, not knowing your voice would tremble, it took a little while before your heard static following by dustin’s anxious voice ‘yeah, yeah! Yeah, we’re doing fine y/n don’t worry” “what do you mean don’t worry! Sh-“ “shut up max!” you hear them bicker as it gets cut off shit.
You sat down on the couch, fimbling with your bracelet waiting for them to come back. You heard after an hour a lot of talking coming towards your house “how are we gonna tell her?” “we’ll be fine, just relax” “how can we relax after what happened!?” “Dustin! Shut up!” you hear Robin say and you immediatly stand up to walk to the door. You stomach sinks when you see them walk towards you “what happened?” you ask shocked as you check them all on bruising.
When you come to Eddie you see him gulp “are you okay?” you ask him “yeah, in desperate need of pasta” he just says and you nod “come inside, then we can tend to Steve” you get them all inside and out of protection you lock the door and close all the blinds.
Nancy and Robin tend to Steve his wounds while you heat the pasta back up. Eddie walks into the kitchen and you see him shake visibly “Eddi-“ “that was so fucking scary dude” he says as he walks towards you and he immediatly puts his arms around you to hug you. Shocked you go with your hands through his hair, feeling his hands trying to only push you further into his touch “you’re safe now” you whisper as hear him cry softly “i will not let anyone hurt you, ever”
He curses under your touch and after a while he stops hugging you, missing his touch already you wipe away his tears “okay, i would love some good food now” he says as he smells the pasta and you smile “it’s ready, sit down” you say as you walk towards the living room to tell the rest that dinner is ready.
The pasta was devoured under 10 minutes by everyone, getting lots of compliments from anyone and you smile “it’s nothing really” you smile “it’s the least i can do for you guys” you grab all the plates to clean them “let me help you” Eddie says while he stands up.
While cleaning the dishes you can hear them talk about how to kill Vecna, if you didn’t know what was happening you would think they were talking about a game. Eddie is standing close to you while you clean the dishes “are you okay?” Eddie asks making you snort “am i okay? Really? You guys have been through hell and back, don’t worry about me” “no i will worry about you” Eddie says making you blush “thanks Eddie” you whisper as you feel a hand on your lower back and you look at him “eh-ehm, is it okay if i crash at your place tonight? My uncle is out of town and i do not want to be alone” he stumbles “yeah sure no problem, i’ll take the couch so you can fully relax” you go with your hand through his hair
When they have all left your house except Eddie you make your bed comfortable for him, he stands in the doorway “you have a nice bedroom” he says as he walks around “thanks, it’s not a lot but it’s enough” he walks over to your casette collection “lots of mixtapes huh” he smiles and you nod  “yeah, i like to make them a lot” he looks at all of them as he walks back to your bed to sit on it “i know this is gonna sound incredibly childish, but can you stay till i fall asleep?” he asks under his breath, without a doubt you crawl next to him ‘ofcourse, it’s no big deal” you say with a smile
You were both getting ready for bed, decided to watch a kids movie you still had laying around to be sure Eddie would be fine. Others would have laughed knowing you would be in the same bed, watching a kids movie but you know that at this moments you just wanted Eddie to feel comfortable. He looked spooked the entire night and incredibly on edge. The both of you had fought on which side of the bed you should be, you wanted to be the big spoon but so did Eddie “no, you’ve been through a lot!” you declare “okay, we’ll lay next to eachother and facing eachother then” He says as he crawls into bed. With a deep sigh you also get into bed, not turning the lights off while the kids movie played in the background. You put your arms around his waist as you snuggled against him and he started to play with your hair “i just really want to thank you y/n, for how you acted today. I needed it” he says as he sniffs your hair “It’s no big deal, i like it” you mumble “you really are a good friend” friend. Did you just got friendzoned by Eddie Munson? You swallow dry air and take a deep breath “anytime munson” you whisper as you draw with your fingers on his back. Hoping he would fall asleep quickly.
It didn’t took long before he started to breathe deeper and loosened his touch around your body. You couldn’t deny the heartache you’ve been feeling since he said how good of a friend you were, after a while you really couldn’t hold it and crawled out of bed, only to hear a bit of complaining from Eddie but he fell back asleep pretty quickly. You tiptoed downstairs to sit down at the kitchen table in the dark. To be alone with your feelings. Fumbling with your bracelet you tried to focus but your tears had found a way to release themself “shit” you whisper as you desperatly try to wipe them away but more kept coming. The clock kept ticking in the distance while you gave in into your feelings. You had felt happiness, seeing them come back alive, you felt happiness, knowing they were okay. You felt happiness, knowing that you could give your ultimate support tot hem, only to be pushed back down by getting the award for ‘for being a good friend’ to hear that come out of the mouth of the guy you have been swooning over the last couple of years, shredded your heart. You knew you would never be pretty enough to be with someone like Eddie, never be smart enough, wise enough to even enter the hellfire club.
You did play DnD, with your own club, but you really wanted to be in the hellfire club. How Eddie talks, how intense their stories were, how happy they always walked out of school. It made you envy them. Knowing you would never get there. You put your hands infront of your eyes as you tried to make yourself small on the chair you were sitting in. After sitting there for quite sometime you heard a gasp and Eddie running down the stairs in pure panic “y/n?!” He screams through the house. But when he sees you he can’t help but take a deep breath “you scared me” he mumbled as he sits next to you as you remove your hands from your eyes. You sniffle as you wipe away your tears and his face turns concerned right away “are you okay?!” “yeah i’m fine” you smile only with your mouth and Eddie looks you in your eyes “no your not” “why did i scare you?” “i t-thought that-that thing had gotten you, you know. It’s not my first time s-seeing it and y-you know you mean a lot- like really a lot to me a-and i don-n’t want to see yo-you know h-hanging” he talked incredibly quickly and stumbled over his words while his breathing quickened again “hey, i’m here” you put your hand on his cheek “you have to fight me to leave you” you whisper “i will fight back to keep you, I will personally talk it out with vecna, even have to sacrifice myself but i will not lose you” he blurts out, starting to get angry at the fact that losing you seemed too real all of a sudden, making you go quiet. You sat in silence for atleast half an hour together, both too afraid to speak up about the conversation you just had “do you want some water?” you ask as you try to stand up but Eddie pulls you back down and closer to him “i mean it y/n” he whispers and your faces are both too close, feeling eachothers breath on eachother “me too Eddie” you whisper back as your lips shortly brush against eachother, making both your bodies feel fire in your lower abdomen. You look in his eyes for a short moment not wanting to move away but another part of your body wants to run like hell “i was scared you’d friendzoned me” you whisper and Eddie nods “yeah i was scared that i did that too” you adjust your form to sit correctly and Eddie does the same, but not keeping his eyes off of you and neither do you “fuck it” he whispers as he puts his hand on your neck pulling him towards you and gives you the best, softest but wildest kiss you have ever experienced in your life.
You both went back upstairs after the kiss and layed back down in your bed “so ehm, just t-to be sure” you say as you face him “hm?” “what does this make of us” you speak hesitantly, afraid to be turned down only to hear a heartly laugh coming out of Eddie’s mouth “what it makes of us? How about we go on a nice date tomorrow and make it official?” he says as he tilts his head. Smiling you kiss his lips “i would love that” “me too, a lot” he puts his arm over your pillow so you can put your head on his arm and he kisses your cheek “sweet dreams princess” “sweet dreams prince” you whisper. Both falling into one of the best sleep of your life.
feedback is always welcome and my askbox is open!

I feel like there's too much discourse surrounding Mike's character nowadays that you cannot really talk about his character without it being turned into a ship war situation or slander. It also feels weird because many people seem to think that his character can be 'good or bad' based on Byler/Mlvn happens or not and it's just...? Do you even like him as a character or just perceive him from ship POVs then? It's like saying you wouldn't like Lucas or Max if they broke up or you wouldnt like Hopper, Joyce, Nancy etc if they just entered a relationship that you personally dont like. Because a character cannot be primarily defined or perceived based on shipping reasons, because they also have to stand on their own characterwise.... Max is my fav character and I wouldn't dislike or love her based on her romance choices. Yet whenever I see takes about Mike's character it just seems like both sides only ever focus on his romantic endgame. Or oftentimes just misinterpret his character by inventing made-up things about him that do not exist in canon. So is he that weak of a character then idk, because it seems like Mlvns will just hate him if he ends up with Will and many Bylers will call him a badly written character if he continues to be in a relationship with El or if the narrative doesnt turn out the way they expect or *exactly* want it to be. And it's especially kind of annoying when these both sides just want to insert Mike into a category that they like but when you just look at it, it sounds like they don't even like the canon!Mike but the fanon!version of it.
OH MY GOD, YES. I do get why people will like him less if Byler is not endgame, less because of Byler but more because they interpret Mike within the frame of being queer which means their justification for his behaviour or the reason they relate to him is now gone. However, I also think it's important to remember that he's 14 and traumatized and him getting angry at Will doesn't have to be projection or secretly be him being the best guy ever. He is flawed, canonically, and he has been a bad friend to Will since S2.
But people tend to act like he's an evil asshole or a perfectly innocent guy because their analyses are working backwards from each of those conclusions. I used to actually not like Mike very much, and I'm still not a huge fan, but I think understanding why he has his flaws without explaining them away helped me to understand him more. Also someone edited him to First Love, Late Spring by Mitski and I'm not even joking when I say it was the first time his characterisation clicked for me. And the show has been making this explicit, both in his need to be needed and his depression in S2, but they've not been as effective as writing him in years.
Even within the show, Mike is always defined in relation to other characters ever since S3 when he was less of a central character. In S2, they introduced all of his struggles with depression and emotional issues because of his loss of Eleven which was solved when El returned but it never really addressed the actual root issues that he had. I think fans analysing this behaviour from that perspective is completely valid because I do it too.
He could have a lot of depth but I feel fans give him much more than the show has awarded him in a way that Byler endgame can't exclusively solve. Because whilst they can write him falling in love with Will, they've given themselves eight episodes to break up his 4 season relationship, have him accept his queerness, come out and get with Will. And whilst I'd enjoy that, I also think they've just not written Mike as well in the later seasons. This may sound silly, but there's a point when I blame a character's actions on the writers and not the characters. Think of Nancy and Steve being weird in S4.
Overall, I think the route of this issue is that they didn't know what to do with him after S2. His primary goal in S1 was to find Will. His primary goals in S2 were to "get over" El and to help Will. In S3, his goal was having a good relationship with El and in S4 it was to confess his love (which he already did?). The issue with the last two seasons is that it felt like they were working backwards from a conclusion. They wanted conflict but didn't know how to and so he became a bad friend and bad boyfriend so he could have a character arc.
And I know we can explain his behaviour from a Byler POV which is why I do think it impacts my perception of the character, but Mike's "it's not my fault you don't like girls" line, Mike not contacting Will, Mike not noticing Will was crying, Mike saying the best day of his life was the one where Will went missing (I think the Duffers forgot that context too), and Mike being unable to effectively communicate with El feel out of character to me. In S1, we saw how even when angry with Eleven, he was highly emotionally intelligent and was able to communicate effectively. And we saw his special bond with Will in S2 where he was highly aware of Will's emotions, much more so than the other people in his life. And then by the next Summer, that was all gone. Even his whole "need to be needed" thing fell flat for me because it felt a bit random, it would've been way better for me if they had instead looked at his fear of loss or emotional repression or parental issues.
Jesus, this post grew arms and legs. TL;DR: Mike isn't an evil asshole and he has depth but he's also been failed by the writers in a way people justify with fanon but not the canon text. Byler helps to improve his character, but he's not been written outside of his relationships, romantically or platonically, and his struggles with mental health get solved by the power of love or whatever. Don't get me wrong, people hating Mike is bad but acting like they just don't understand the show or are stupid is also bad in my opinion. Everyone is just trying to fill in the gaps left by his under-writing in the later seasons.

I saw a post saying that you were a hypocrite if you hated Billy but “excused” Nancy’s actions, and I’m still totally baffled. Nancy has done maybe four mildly bad things in the show under difficult circumstances:
Persuade Barb to come with her to an un-fun party so she could hang out with her new boyfriend. Honestly, I don’t think this is actually bad—sometimes you go with a friend to an event you don’t really enjoy so they’ll be safe or have company. Under ordinary circumstances, Nancy would’ve owed Barb a favor, but a favor in the sense of doing an activity that was way more of a Barb thing.
Say mean things or snap at people when traumatized, provoked, and/or inebriated. I think the most offensive thing she says is the one about “the Oliver Twist routine” to Jonathan. To be fair, that was a fight where they both said harsh and unjust things in a very trying situation, and I love him but he kind of started it.
Arguably stay with Steve too long when her heart wasn’t in it. I say arguably because we don’t know what happened between Christmas 1983 and late October 1984. She might have sincerely believed she loved him and that it was best to let things go with Jonathan before the Hollands revealed that they were sinking money into the futile search for Barb.
Seem weirdly hostile to acknowledging that Jonathan has to deal with being poor and (to a lesser extent) not understanding his difficult family situation. I think some of this is classism and general indifference to Jonathan on the part of the writers, so I can’t be fully mad at Nancy the character.
These are all okay reasons to dislike Nancy, but Billy:
Threatens, berates, physically harms, and breaks the possessions of his thirteen-year-old stepsister;
Insults people without provocation (the kid at the pool, women in general);
Tries to run over children with his car;
Declares that Lucas, a thirteen-year-old boy who’s never done anything threatening in his life, is dangerous because he’s black;
Tries to beat or even kill Lucas (again, a boy who’s five years younger and much smaller than Billy) for no reason;
Bullies Steve for no reason in a kind of creepy way and beats him to a pulp at the Byers house for the crime of…not letting him hurt Lucas or the other kids;
Smashes shit in the Byers house even though nobody in that family has done anything to him.
He’s out there committing actual crimes and being a proud bigot. Nancy just has normal character flaws and mostly tries to be a good person. They’re not on the same level. What’s next? You’re a hypocrite if you think Vecna is bad for killing people horribly and trying to take over the world, but you let it go when Dustin ungraciously complained about the quality of snacks at Will’s post-funeral reception?

* . ⊹ prompt: nancy wheeler starts to realize that the friendship she recently developed with robin buckley might be more than meets the eye. * . ⊹ warnings: nothing but pure wholesome cuteness! * . ⊹ pairing: nancy wheeler x robin buckley * . ⊹  word count: 1,079 * . ⊹  additional comments: please enjoy!!!! this is a piece I wrote awhile ago and decided to finally post it elsewhere. if you wish to see any further prompts, my requests are open!
* . ⊹ masterlist
Nancy focused on the clothes in view, deciding what scheme would be the best for Robin to pull off the look of an academic scholar. Soft music faded into the background by the hands of a rather cheerful Robin who refused to listen to Nancy’s objection on searching through the set of cassettes she had on her nightstand.
Something happens and I’m head over heels
I never find out till I’m head over heels
Something happens and I’m head over heels
Ah, don’t take my heart, don’t break my heart
Don’t, don’t, don’t throw it away
Holding up a bright pink ruffled shirt followed by a somewhat long skirt, the look of pure encouragement plastered on her face as if that was enough to convince the other brunette to put it on. Not that she had much of a choice to begin with, if they wanted to learn any further scoop on Victor Creel, this was the route to take. “Oh, come on! You only have to wear them for a few hours.” Without thinking, her lower lip formed into a slight pout, the silent plea for Robin to commit to this undercover plan of theirs. Nancy was determined to see this shot in the dark idea all the way through and Robin was a key piece to it.
The eye roll that acted as a response in Nancy’s direction didn’t stray her in the slightest from continuing to slowly put the clothes in her hands. A hesitant Robin grabbed them with much aggravation as feet stomped their way to the bathroom down the hall, an amused grin upon Nancy’s lips as she started to gather a few make-up products that were scattered across her nearby vanity. Knowing she had to stick with a subtle natural look or otherwise the debate between them would last all night and they couldn’t dare to miss the appointment set at Pennhurst Mental Hospital.
“I look like a pom pom threw up on me. You don’t have anything with less ruffles? Or anything that won’t draw the entire town of Hawkins attention onto me?”
Turning on her heel, making sure that Robin hadn’t missed her response which was nothing more than an eye-roll. Something that was becoming a regular motion around the brunette.
“The fun is just beginning. Come take a seat right here. I need to do a little make-up and no, don’t say anything.” It wasn’t Nancy’s intention by any means to come off with a short temper but more so that when she had a task at hand, she was determined to ensure that it was accomplished. This situation wasn’t any different, if she wanted to be of any help towards the circle of people relying on her to have the answers, this had to be done in the most efficient way that she could muster.
Winning one of the many battles that were sure to come, Nancy stood in front of the seat that Robin had reluctantly taken. Leaning over her slightly, reaching for the lip gloss figuring if she could at least get past that then everything else would fall into place or at least she hoped for the best. “Pucker your lips for a second so I can put this on.” One finger lightly brushing underneath her chin, lifting it to gain a better angle into the sunlight peering in through the nearby window. Popping the top of the product in her hands, one hand holding her head in place as fingers delicately ran the tube across her lips.
“Uh…Nance, why do my lips taste like watermelon? The, uh, last time they tasted like this was in the cafeteria when I was a freshman. It was watermelon day, I…you remember watermelon days? Anyway…so I am sitting there eating this watermelon when all of a sudden I choke on a seed…a freaking seed. This concoction on my lips is reminding me of that day…you know? I’d rather not be reminded of how I nearly got killed by a seed….do I really have to wear this? Are the clothes not enough?” Nancy had paused her previous actions, taking a second to look through glared eyes at the girl who was nearly running out of breath from how quickly the words were spilling out.
“Robin! I need you to trust me on this. Can you do that?”
Without another word, Robin held her hands up as a sign of her waving her flag of surrender, while Nancy felt rather accomplished for gaining the upper hand. Surprise quickly followed afterwards at how easy it was. Hands returning to their original placement, one holding Robin’s head at the perfect tilt while the other reapplied the lip gloss she had licked off.
The silence basking around them, minus the music still playing at a low volume, Nancy had never taken a second to actually look at Robin. Not on a physical aspect level but who Robin was as a person, perhaps on Nancy’s part there was pre-judgment there and she recognized how unfair that was. In the mix of being caught up in her thoughts, silently admitting to herself that Robin wasn’t half bad after all, Nancy realized that she had been staring into her eyes.
The blue reminds her of the one time she visited the ocean with a family, a trip that had been locked away in her vault of happy memories that included all of the Wheelers. They were in short supply these days sadly. Nancy continued to reapply the gloss, her usual caution was a bit sloppier than normal as she was seemingly lost in those deep blues. Eyes venturing out to take note of every single freckle that occupied Robin’s face, the way her bangs barely brushed past her eyelids. She was pretty - anyone could see that but why was Nancy taking the time out of her day to notice it? With that question bouncing around in her mind, the anxious tendencies she often experienced were coming to the surface. What the hell was she nervous for? She could feel the hands holding the tube of gloss become clammy, worried that it’d slip out of her grasp if she didn’t get a handle on this situation sooner.
“This lip gloss makes your eyes pop.” She commented, hoping that would suffice as a good enough excuse as to why she continued to hold the gaze instead of dropping it the second her stomach began to do flip flops.

Do I just do bullet points, like???? also why is the text functions so fucking different, c'mon man
people band wagon hate mike wheeler for almost (key word, almost) no reason
worst thing mike did this season was refuse to support lucas just because he had an interest outside of their nerd shit, but dustin and eddie (EDDIE, an adult, couldnt reschedule the fucking dnd session??? youre an adult and lucas is just trying to find a foothold in high school, reschedule your stupid game!!!) are equally guilty but they get no shit for this
mikes probably a little oblivious (regarding wills feelings) but that's the worst you could really say about him in this situation. It's not like he can read will's mind. i will say they could have did that scene better in ep 8 where will is crying like right next to him in the van and mike supposedly doesn't hear him even tho it was super obvious. He was clearly meant to not hear him, so maybe they should have blocked that out better.
I was really hoping will was asexual/aromantic for some good honest rep (last season I swore up and down that was the direction they were going), but eh, whachu gonna do. This still works well enough. I'm curious where they're gonna take his character and this arc next season. I am looking forward to him getting back into the thick of the plot.
The nancy/steve plot confused the fuck out of me the entire season and i still can't really pinpoint... the point of it. From steves perspective I totally can, but nancy's side of things (and subsequently jonathans) i just got huge fat question marks over it.
i loved steve/nancy in season 1, was disappointed they decided to break them up even though they turned steves archetype on its head, but was willing to compromise for a thruple cuz like...cool. I coulda dug it. But they never did it (mainstream media really aint about poly relationships yet which is a shame), and learned to like nancy and jonathan well enough that to rehash this in season 4 with one season left seems... i don't wanna say questionable, because this has to go somewhere, but if it's just to reaffirm nancy and jonathans relationship while steve is just left to move on, again, i will be wondering why they bothered. You could say the point is for nancy to reject the idea of a typical suburban family lifestyle, but she already did that in season 1 so again...why? Definitely dug the tension between her and steve tho, and all his vulnerable moments with her. I'll enjoy it while it lasts lol
LUCAS. god, lucas. I hope they continue to give him great material next season because damn have they been sleeping on calebs acting. the only time i ever teared up this entire show was when he was holding max and crying out for his sister, which was improv!!! I hope he has a damn good storyline next season, he deserves it
i do have issues with some of his storyline this season tho. his stuff with max was amazing, i wouldnt change that for anything. but i really feel some type of way that they had his friends NOT go to his game... and wrote this in a way where lucas was in the wrong by framing his interest in basketball as a shallow quest for popularity. That is such shit, especially after they had a line where lucas said he was doing this because he was tired of being bullied, which is very understandable, tho i don' know why they couldn't simply have it as him really loving basketball since he seems to actually enjoy it, but i digress. I was waiting all season long for a scene between him, mike and dustin, where lucas got to be rightfully upset with them for ditching him when he stressed how important it was to him. But instead, naturally, we got lucas telling jason he was wrong for looking up to him and wanting to be like him... like look, just because Jason turned out to be a...bit of a dick (more on him later) doesn't mean lucas was wrong for wanting to focus on a sport he really liked and wanting his friends to support him in it. There was no way for him to know that the basketball team was gonna pop off like that, that's such manipulative writing and i hate that kinda shit. #justiceforjocklucas the team needs more jocks anyway!! steve cant be the only one punching the shit out of things
....i really zoned out of joyce and murrays storyline, it was just so boring compared to what was going on in hawkins. Hoppers was good tho, especially when he got to play off of enzo (forget is real name, antonov?) tho i do think they could have left him dead, it would have freed up so much more time for other characters that desperately needed it (mike, jonathan, and will most notably)
i got more to say but ill do it in another post, don't want this to be super long. I have stuff to say about max, el, vecna, eddie, chrissy, and jason

Chapter four!!! This is super out of order, sorry
Oh man it really encapsulated how it feels to live in the wake of a Bad Thing.
To be the person it's done to, to be the person who did it. Billy living with that guilt, Steve living with the hurt and rejection, and still having to see the person who hurt him... it's just. Ugh.
The leveraging fake treats thing is fucking awful. And Billy recognizing it makes me so proud of him but it's immediately replaced with fear because even though he's right and he's justified in calling it out, and he KNOWS that, it just makes it worse.
The way Neil smiles when he succeeds in goading Billy into lashing out makes me sick.
Steve and the kids!! I like how you always write him as such a mama bear, because duh, but the flavor varies between fics. I loved Max trying (failing) to walk in her first pair of heels. Such a part of growing up lol
Also interested to see Shitty Teenagers Tommy and Carol grow up some. And I don't blame Tommy for being enraptured by Billy's beauty. I get it, man.
The picture of Steve!! Steve is genuinely wanted and he can't even know about it because it's not safe. And I don't know which would hurt Steve more. Knowing the pining is mutual and nothing can be done about it, so it never really ends and you never really get rid of that painful glimmer of hope....... or the definite breaking off and rejection.
(I forgot to finish answering Chapter 4 asks before posting Chatper five ughhhhh)
I tried really hard to show both sides of the grief, because yes Billy is the one who hurt Steve but its out of a sense of self preservation and desperation that had quite literally been beat into him so.. he's hurting himself too. So not only is Billy hurt but he's also GUILTY. Whereas Steve is hurt but also LOST. Billy has all the answers and Steve has none of the answers but neither can do anything about it.
I've 100% been in the "I was going to do THIS THING for you but you did THIS THING so now I'm not going to do it" situation and let me tell you... recognizing it and calling it out and KNOWING that the nice thing didn't actually exist...doesn't make it feel any better. Because there's always a tiny tiny part of us that wonders "wait what if this time it was real" and that's usually the same tiny part that keeps people going back to abusers or too afraid to leave abusers over and over again.
Re: Neil Smiling. Idk. The first time I watched Stranger Things and saw that scene in Season Two, I went "this motherfucker almost looks like he's looking forward to disciplining his kid" and then the scene went worse than I imagined/implied so many things about their dynamic and history so I was HORRIFIED but I can't ever get that thought out of my head. Neil Hargrove 100% enjoys the power he holds over his son and he 100% enjoys wielding it/trapping Billy into escalating situations and you'll never convince me otherwise.
You can see it when Billy says "yes sir" and Neil forces him to repeat it? Been there, done that and it sucks. Because it's definitely Neil being purposefully antagonizing, rubbing it in just a little bit more that he controls Billy.
The dude is an asshole. So in my fics he'll always smile a little bit before dealing with Billy and in my fics he will always get some sort of comeuppance, whether by way of social call out, physical harm or in some cases, outright death.
Steve IS a Mama Bear. I saw a post recently about how he probably didn't even like the kids until post season three, like there was no way he was really driving them places etc and I just.
Okay yeah he probably wasn't piling them all into his car all the time and buying them ice cream, but CLEARLY he's besties with Dustin at the beginning of 3 and that means he's spent enough time around the Party to know them all pretty well? Plus Mike is Nancy's brother, Steve has definitely driven him and the kids places back when they were dating. You can't tell me any of the Party and assorted teenagers don't offer Will rides just to make sure he doesn't go missing again. And now Max and Lucas are dating and they're always with everyone... you can pry Mother Hen Steve Harrington from my cold crusty hands.
Tommy and Carol are maybe my favorite side characters? There's just so MUCH to unpack there. Why is Steve friends with a couple that has been dating a long time when he doesn't keep girlfriends for very long? Who dated who first? Did he and Carol have a past? Do the three of them hook up? Was Tommy jealous of Nancy and that's why he turned on Steve so quick? SO MUCH TO UNPACK. Like I could write a different version of them in every single fic and probably never run out of ideas. They are FASCINATING.
Billy's picture of Steve... ugh... he's so sad. SO SAD. And yeah, which is it? Is it worse for Steve to know Billy wants him but is too scared to take the chance? Or worse for Steve to continue thinking there's never any hope at all for him and his soulmate??

Winter Rewatched Nancy Drew
Welcome to my first rewatch of my current favorite comfort show ❤️ Under the cut are my thoughts and a few insights I hope you enjoy - I’ll be going through each episode and posting these periodically with the tag winter rewatched Nancy Drew.
3x03 - The Journey of the Dangerous Mind
So I’ve taken up this space to dig into any potential double meaning to the episode titles and this one is interesting because yes it’s about the larger mystery arc, and also about the mini mystery for this episode - but also I think in an episode specifically crafted for Nace!Pining - it also insinuates something alarming about what’s only been kept in the haven of each of their minds at this point - the idea that their feelings could lead to some sort of danger - although we don’t know what this at this point as a present audience member, but we do as a rewatcher...
Overall MVP
I choose Bess - because she ties together both sides of the storyline in this episode - she’s the one to bring the pieces together so to speak and I feel like she doesn’t get enough credit - as evident by her conversation with Ace that even though the topic isn’t about “I deserve praise” it’s sort of underlying in the talk they have. Bess really doesn’t get enough acknowledgment and I think she’s feeling that here - we see that later on in the season when she actually calls the crew out on it - but here in this episode is just the seedling of that feeling rising to the surface.
Most Heartfelt Moment
“I just didn’t want the box for a podcast. It was for her.”
Ok - the whole tie up of the mini storyline here at the end of the episode was so precious - and Laci finally revealing that she didn’t want the box for mystery solving purposes but for personal reasons was just *puddle of mush*
Best Overall Line
“Inside the nightmare factory? How come you never take a vote?”
Tagline alert! I love when lines appear in the episode that encapsulate the show and George seems to get alot of them it seems as I’m noticing in my rewatch.
“You can feel good.”
SUPPORTIVE ACE BE STILL MY HEART. And the proximity he has to Nancy in this episode and then for him to say this toward the episode in the final moments of the scene - I can’t...
Best Comedic Moment
No girl. I am the Fan.
George really slayed the comedy this episode - but not in the hilarious, knee slapping way - in the heartfelt, no apologies way we all love her for. Also putting her character in such a sincere situation as a con where people - fans - are gathered to celebrate a thing is comedy in itself - not that George isn’t sincere - she is the icon of honesty - its just a con is something so pure and George just is not the type to go “yes, I will go celebrate and gather with my peers over a shared love - I have better things to do, thank you very much.”
Scare Rating There’s definitely scarier episodes but this one was creepy - so maybe 6? Nace Slow Burn Rating
3x03. The episode perfectly crafted for Nace!Pining. An episode that basically was written to showcase and run home the idea these two are meant for each other, but also introduce if they are meant for each other, will they meet the fate of so many other love stories they’ve come across in their mystery solving “career.”
Or will they defeat the curse that’s piled up against them?
My favorite moment upon rewatch was this tiny moment after Ace pulls Nancy to safety - right after Nancy says “something about that reenactment didn’t make sense...” - the way Ace takes this singular moment for himself - even though they’ve been on the other side, they’ve been safe for several minutes now - this is the moment he’s confirming for himself she’s ok - and it’s everything to me.
The rating scale at this point I feel like is mute but 10/10.
Favorite Fashion Moment
Nancy just looked great in this episode overall. Also Ace in the purple shirt <3 Missing Moment Drabble
New drabble here - domestic Nace inspired by this episode...
Another missing moment here

So I binged Stranger Things season 4 last night. And it was actually quite good in my opinion.
People were allowed to have nuanced emotions and feelings. To make reasonable mistakes or be a little unlikeable at moments, without being totally awful or villainized.
It focused on fighting your inner demons, making and maintaining interpersonal bonds, and processing trauma... Max with her grief and guilt over her abusive big brother dying, Hopper feeling like a curse, Lucas feeling like he needed to fit in, Will feeling like he's been forgotten by his friends and even his BEST friend, El not knowing how to regulate her emotions and feeling like a monster and not knowing who she is, Will feeling like he's lost his purpose, Steve still harbouring unrequited (?) feelings for Nancy, etc.
The characters get to talk about their feelings without feeling forced (with maybe a few exceptions). Max hiding in her music and writing her feelings out in letters. And the only one we see is when she's talking to Billy's grave. Hopper spills his feelings with the Russian when they're in prison. Steve gets to admit he still thinks about Nancy. Dustin gets to grieve with Eddie's uncle. El's relationship with Brenner is so messy and complicated especially when he dies. And so on and so forth. I appreciate that the show makes time for character beats.
And generally speaking, it felt like it didn't have a strong, overt modern political agenda. It felt like it played fair.
Watergate cropped up a few times as a PUN, without making a strong political dig. They poked fun at "angry hicks" at a gun store and Robin thinks being able to buy all these guns is crazy, but Nancy Wheeler (2A icon) saws off a shotgun and the guns and weapons actually end up coming in handy.
Several characters deny believing in the supernatural, but some also admit to not knowing everything given what they've been through or hoping for a miracle. Some people misuse religion, and some of the sterotypes get poked fun at... but it's far less antagonistic than most shows and overall more harmless. And in the next scene you might just as easily see potheads wasting away their braincells in the attempt to escape from meaning and reason.
There were moments here and there that felt like they were written with a left-leaning bias and moments that felt like they were written with the typically more-conservative perspective of small-town USA in the 80's in mind.
Situations weren't painted as racist or misogynistic just because of identity politics. People weren't evil just for being white. Women weren't awesome just for being women. Minorities were not victims just for being non-white.
So what I'm saying is it felt reasonably fair.
I also really enjoyed the villains.
Chrissy's boyfriend went off the rails because in his grief, rage, fear, and denial he believed the people in the D&D group were part of a Satanic cult... and in his arrogance, he wouldn't listen to or believe an explanation other than his own, so he used any means necessary to justify his actions (rallying religious people, appealing to emotions, standing on the graves of others). He attacked Lucas because Lucas had been part of that group and helped them. He was an image of how dangerous groupthink can be, especially with faulty leadership.
And in the Upside Down, we see Vecna, a deeply disturbed boy with no attachments to anyone, who hates structure and time and rules... humanity itself. He wants to destroy what is good and beautiful and reshape it into his own twisted version of what is good. He will use fear and force to make you part of his hive mind.
It's two very different ways of showing evil and saying it can exist everywhere. It can be willful ignorance, born of trauma, or it can be malicious and senseless. It can be cold and meditating or hot and unplanned.

It’s Simply a Henderson Thing
Chapter 2
(Each chapter goes to their respective episodes. Will eventually be an Eddie X Henderson!Reader fic. We just have to get through a lot to make it there. Not proof-read but still, Enjoy.)
Dustin was out of the house before you were. Assuming he went straight to school to see if Will would just magically be there. You hoped so, for everyone’s sake. He was an integral member of Dustin’s D&D party and one of his best friends. Will was a good kid.
Hopefully he would be found soon. And hopefully he was alive.
You headed into the high school, putting your helmet away before catching up with the girls. Barb was quizzing Nancy on chemistry. You’d heard the information before, so you’d be able to help your shorter friend cram last minute.
But then someone came out of nowhere, snatching Nancy’s flashcards from Barb’s hands. You looked to see it was Steve “the hair” Harrington. As usual, his infamous hair was deliberately styled high and fluffy. As if Steve wasn’t bad enough, he was also accompanied by Tommy and Carol. Steve was at least a little tolerable but the people he chose to associate with were absolutely vile.
They were incredibly annoying, mean spirited, and overly sexual.
Though you weren’t one to judge quickly or harshly, those two were just assholes.
Steve was saying something, so you guessed you should listen. You clued in that he was suggesting a party for that night at his house.
“A party?” Nancy asked.
“Ding-ding-ding.” Carol replied.
Tommy just laughed.
“It’s Tuesday.” Nancy was confused.
Tommy mocked her, and that didn’t sit well with you.
“It’ll be low key. It’ll just be us.” Steve said, a little hopefully.”What do you say? Are you in or are you out?”
You tried not to roll your eyes. She was so infatuated with the king of Hawkins high, so incredibly boy crazy.
There was some movement behind you and Steve commented how depressing it was.
You turned to see Jonathan putting up flyers for Will. It was a good idea, get his face out there. What else was Jonathan meant to do?
Steve’s whole group were just being idiotic and mean for no reason, yet another reason to dislike the whole bunch.
You actually didn’t mind Jonathan. Of course you weren’t really close, only knowing him because of Dustin and Will’s friendship. But he was nice in every interaction you’d had with him.
Nancy went over, to your surprise.
You smiled. It was the right thing to do, considering the situation.
They seemed to speak for a bit, Steve tensing beside you. It was all you could do not to roll your eyes.
You waved at Nancy and Jonathan as she turned back, offering a look of sympathy.
But the bell rang before much else could happen. Steve, Carol, and Tommy headed off to whatever class they had.
Before you parted ways with just Barb and Nancy, you gave your excuse for the party.
“Would come along but with Will missing, mom doesn’t want to risk her precious little baby going out to look and get snatched himself.” You said a little mournfully.”But if you do go, do tell me all the juicy details afterwards, alright ladies?”
“There won’t be any.” Nancy replied.
You gave Barb your best look of ‘is she serious?’. Barb just laughed.
“Don’t worry, I’ll fill you in.” She promised.”If we are really entertaining the idea of a part on a Tuesday night at Harrington’s.”
“Very well, I expect extra extra juicy details.”
“Yeah yeah, see you at lunch?” Barb asked.
“Can’t, remember? Tuesdays and Thursday’s are for tutoring Chrissy.” You said back, having started early on in the semester tutoring. She was the same age as them, but she was just in the popular crowd.
“Right, because cheerleaders need to uphold their grades too.” Nancy chuckled.
You chuckled back.
“Later, angels. And good luck on your Chem test wheeler!”
They did a classic Charlie’s angels pose, making you laugh. Then you waved and headed to your next class.
Dustin wasn’t home when you got there after school, neither was your mom.
You figured he was at Mike’s but you didn’t want to make any assumptions because of the Will situation. So you headed over there, only to see his bike on the lawn. You sighed a little in relief, at least there were a few of them to keep each other company. You could do with some right now but
You didn’t want to go to that party at Steve’s. There was no way you could stand that group for more than a few minutes, even if it meant letting down your friends for a night.
With a only little peace of mind, you headed home and began studying. The walkie was kept at your side just in case Dustin contacted.
Even though he was safely with the other kids at the wheeler house, you couldn’t help but feel a little odd. Maybe it had to do with will, but you just felt like something was off.
Maybe a good nights sleep would help.
