[Image ID: Inked digital drawing of Digimon character Justimon. Justimon is a humanoid with a heavily Tokusatsu superhero inspired design- wearing a bodysuit with multiple different armoured parts particularly around their left shoulder, elbow and wrist, ankles, knees and chest and abdomen area as well as rivets dotted around their body. They have a belt with a large circular belt buckle spiked at four corners in the middle, as well as a very long scarf. They have a metal helmet on with no facial features, and four metal antenna- two longer ones that are sticking up and two shorter ones sticking down at each ear area respectively. Their right arm- a redesign of the accel arm- is much longer and bigger, with sharp claws at the end of it. It is very mechanical looking, with tubing and more rivet and gear motifs, their right shoulderpad having a blunt spike coming up from the middle. They are in a mid action pose, as if they were jumping or running, looking to the side with their head slightly lowered, their left arm bent closer towards their body whilst the right arm is fully outstretched. There are dark patches of shadow around certain parts of their body and scarf as well as small action lines. /End Image ID]

hot take but i really dont like the survival horror elements in alan wake 2. i dont think it fits the game at all. survival horror, by forcing you to manage your resources, creates an added source of stress in an already stressful situation. it adds to the immersion by making the player's every action have consequences in the moment-to-moment gameplay. but alan wake isn't a game rooted in having grounded, non-supernatural explanations for everything like resident evil. it's mindbending and trippy and for me the horror always came from the lack of a solid, objective reality, that you can't trust the evidence of your senses. so to go from 'is what im seeing right now really happening? can i trust what alan is telling me? what layer of the narrative are we in right now?' to 'oh no, i dont have enough inventory slots for the big medkit' is such an abrupt tone shift, and i feel like it's actively forcing me to stop caring about the overarching mysteries in the game, which i think is why most people are playing this game anyway. stop making me do inventory tetris and let me just walk around and reflect on whats happening in the story!!!!!

Fr i don't even mind the Childless time... what?? ahshd i mean the Timeless Child. conceptually i quite like it. Very similar has already been done its fine. its lit. I don't mind either way tbh
My issue is that it was done in powerpoint presentation form like: 'This exact this happened and here's my slides of the timeline in exact detail.'
WHERE IS MY FUN LORE GATHERING. WHERES DOCCY WHO GOING BACK IN TIME AND PUNCHING THEIR MUM AND MAYBE ALSO CAUSING IT TO HAPPEN BECAUSE TIMES FUCKED LIKE THAT
Gimme MYSTERY. Gimme UNCERTAINTY. Gimme PLAUSIBLE DENIABILITY. GIMME ACTIVE ACTIONS TAKEN BY CHARACTERS REGARDING IT
WHERES THE MASTER & THE DR DUKING IT OUT 20 FEET FROM THE KID. BECAUSE THE MASTER WANTS TO ERASE THE DOCTORS HOLD ON EM AND THE DOCTOR DOESN'T WANT TO STOP EXISTING BUT ALSO IN DOING SO THEY'RE COMPLICIT IN THEIR OWN CHILD SELF'S MISERY?? LIKE???
I could go on and on. We could have had it allllll 😭😭 so much best enemies potential SO MUCH ANCIENT GALLIFREY POTENTIAL
Babesssss babessssss I'm pissed it was an episode long powerpoint that barely got brought up again except really shittily in flux blease i beg 💀
