#i love megan fox and reagan tbh
Text
tbh i don’t think ppl who haven’t seen megan fox in new girl should get to have a negative opinion on megan fox because her portrayal of reagan did something to me like fundamentally and i think if u want to hate u first have to look at her being the token chaotic bisexual in a zany group of buds getting into shenanigans and falling in love with two of her roommates who are also one another’s exes and trying SO hard to make them the worlds funnest triad. i just don’t think u should get to perceive megan fox w any amount of negativity if u don’t know the beauty of reagan/winston bromance. it’s not fair !!!!

reagan, as always, is a beaut and i love my furious bisexual girl. s5 truly was at its peak when reagan was in it and watching the group make such an effort to bond with her was so soft, and also she WORE THE FUCKING T-SHIRT JESS MADE FOR HER?????????? because she loved jess in her one day of knowing her and she loves this group who in such a short time had become her family and ppl she would do anything for, god.
i wish she’d been a permanent addition to the group and not just a roadblock/catalyst to jessnick endgame, also her jess’s attraction to reagan should have been explored way more than it was, we could have gotten THREE bisexual girls (cece, reagan, and jess being a bi f/f/f trio would have truly slapped).

6x21 - San Diego
I loved this episode.
First of all, I’m glad Nick and Reagan broke up. It was a mistake to make them a couple in the first place, though. Reagan’s exit was disappointing. Some of you may not like her character or Megan Fox, but she’s an amazing woman with a great sense of humor and she did her best with the material. She didn’t have much to do this season and the writers wasted so much potential. A Schmidt/Cece/Reagan storyline would’ve been so much fun, tbh. She deserved a better exit. If there’s a season 7 I think we could see her again.
Schmidt’s name reveal was hilarious, imo. It was time for another Schmidt/Winston storyline and connecting it with Schmidt’s name was pretty great. I was hoping for Nick Schmidt, but Winston’s also good. Loved how they fought and Cece and Aly were just sitting there, watching. Had to shoot those scenes several times, lol.
Next week: NESS! And so many more great stuff is also coming next week.

Who ever said New Girl was feminist? It's about very slowly evolving 30 somethings who for some reason still live together like they're fresh outta college. Jess is undoubtedly the lead but it's not and never has been all about her. And the appearance of Megan Fox, or anyone's opinion of her character, had absolutely nothing to do w feminism. Her character was just largely unlikeable. People didn't dislike her because she's a woman, they just didn't like her. Everything is not always political.
The show always defended feminism a lot and I agree with the criticism that New Girl has been contradicting its feminist moments with the writing for Jess these days, but I don't see how not liking Reagan hurts feminism? I mean, we didn't like Ryan either and for similar reasons. It's not like we're hating her because she's a woman or just because MF plays her or because she's dating Nick, cmon. I don't think feminism obligates you to love every single woman out there without a question. And tbh, here we mostly discuss Reagan's character construction and how the affects the story telling. It's not like we're offending her or hating on her just because.

i wanna know ur thoughts on reagan from new girl. like did u think she was a good character, interesting character, was she good with nick, her relationship with jess, like. just Thoughts (i think u can tell a lot by someone's opinions about reagan)
oh this is important because while i'm 100% here for nick/jess endgame and there were sooo so many flaws in nick/reagan's relationship i adore reagan. for one thing she's played by megan fox and is thus iconic second she's bisexual third she's emotionally repressed and has difficulty communicating/expressing herself but found a crew who love her so much and unconditionally and kind of just adopted her and made her one of them and reagan truly began trying because she was so endeared by these emotional weirdos who were incredibly invested in her and getting to know her it really moved reagan. and she constantly participates in their wacky shenanigans she helps assist them in their chaotic misadventures - she literally went out model hunting for cece and DROVE ALL OVER THE CITY TO FIND JESS'S JURY DUTY BOYFRIEND EVEN THO SHE AND JESS JUST MET AND (AND!!!!!!!!) JESS WAS HER CURRENT BF'S EX-GF......... in case it wasn't clear from that tangent reagan is my everything and i can't believe she was phased out of the group as if she was no one just bc she and nick broke up.
she and nick were initially good together and had a lot of chemistry but their relationship was a fail because of the usual couply struggles that i don't think nick and reagan could help each other work out without jess's help. reagan wasn't communicating about her ambitions and dreams and the job offer she got which nick seemed bothered by, nick was literally no longer interested for a long period of time, neither seemed truly happy, reagan couldn't encourage and support nick's career in the way jess could... the list goes on tbh. but i do think they served some narrative purpose.
reagan and jess were the real otp of s5-6 and i loved that they were such good friends. real talk they're girlfriends tho and not just slumber party girlfriends but heavily making out girlfriends... and how amazing would it have been if jess had her bi awakening because of reagan and we had three bi women on the show??? wow unreal.
