You wake the same way you have for the last three months in Bardo: before the morning alarm goes off.
Your eyes pull open to the room around you, larger than any room you’ve ever had before, but modest in belongings, only holding the necessities. You roll over and stare at the ceiling, your mind going the same place it does every morning: to Bellamy and Clarke.
Bellamy, who has been dead for months at this point, is still on your mind. Some days, the loss is as fresh as it was the moment you found out, though you can never show it. Other days, you find yourself forgetting him. The sound of his voice, the feel of his lips on your own, the laugh that he saved just for you. That bright smile that made you feel on top of the world. All of that is gone, and even worse, you're starting to forget.
The realization that you’re starting to forget might be worse than actually forgetting, because the realization is always accompanied by guilt. Sometimes you find yourself smiling, enjoying yourself, and then the memory of Bellamy’s death comes right back to you, sucking the happiness from the moment. But the guilt from forgetting him, from realizing that those lost memories are nearly impossible to get back, it eats at you. Reminds you daily of what Bardo and the disciples took from you. And when you feel yourself forgetting your anger, softening to this planet and these people, Wanlida reminds you.
In a way, you’re not sure you can live without her now.
Her presence has always been pushed away, buried deep, not wanting to accept that she could be a part of you. But since your arrival on Skyring and Wanlida’s initial takeover, you rely on her to remind you of your anger. You rely on her to remind you of the feral, dark, awful parts of your soul that crave the destruction of Bardo. She keeps your anger sharp and expression blank, like Echo, who condemned you for Wanlida on Skyring, but who now acts just as cold. So much of her was lost when Bellamy died, and at first it brought out the jealousy in you. But as time passed, you started to realize that it wasn’t so much the loss of Bellamy that changed Echo. Sure, his death hardened her heart, but the knowledge that her family is broken, that more of the people she loves are either dying or in danger? That’s what changed her. She is so much like the Azgeda spy you met in Mount Weather, and so little like the woman you called sister on Skyring. It hurts you to see that change in her, though you suspect the others often feel the same way about you.
Your mind also drifts to Clarke, your twin, your other half, the time you’ve spent without her stretching on and on. You wonder if you’ll ever see her again, your time apart now going on five plus years, though it’s felt like less for her. Anders told all of you months ago that he sent a team after her, and that it would take time for them to return to Bardo due to the time dilation, but you’ve never had much trust in Anders. Not since everything he put you through in M-Cap.
Still, you hope he’s wrong. Because despite missing your sister so much it physically hurts you sometimes, you don't want her here. You don't want her on Bardo, on this damn planet that has either taken people you love or changed them forever. You want her somewhere else, anywhere else, as long as it’s safe and she’s okay. Bardo has been nothing but terrible for you from the moment you arrived, and you don't want that for Clarke. You hope that she’s on Sanctum and she’s happy and at peace. You hope that everyone has learned to get along, and that she is building a compound for the rest of your people, the way all of you were trying to do before everything went to shit. You hope Madi is okay, and that she’s going to school, the way she always wanted to. You miss your bright little sun and her endless hope for the world, because these days, you could use some of her hope.
Your thoughts are suddenly interrupted by the morning alarm, and you roll out of bed, dressing quickly for your day, the fifteen minute countdown starting. You make sure your hair is out of the way before you pull on a disciple suit, your disciple suit, given to you this time instead of being stolen from a dead body. It’s comfortable enough, which is good because you usually pull long days, picking up extra shifts where you can. Anything to keep your brain distracted from thinking, or from the memories that threaten to plague you.
As soon as you’re dressed and your helmet is in hand, you push the button on your door and step outside, joining Echo, Octavia, and Diyoza as they come down the hall towards you. All of you keep your expressions mostly blank, only nodding in greeting, aware that someone is always watching in Bardo. All of you were supposed to sever your familial bonds weeks ago, and though you pretended to, none of you actually did. Well, except for Echo. Only in your occasional secret meetings do you interact the way you normally would, though paranoia has made even those few and far between these days.
All of you move down the hall towards the mess hall, the disciple schedule pretty structured and routine. You wake up during the alarm and have 15 minutes to get ready. Walk to the mess hall and have breakfast for 30 minutes. Light training for an hour before going to your assignments for 4 hours. Break for lunch for an hour, more advanced training afterwards for at least an hour. Return to your assignments for the remainder of your shift, then report to dinner. After dinner, there is personal time before it’s lights out. There isn't an official curfew, but it’s generally frowned upon to be out after personal time since they want everyone in the best shape possible for the Last War. The exceptions, of course, are additional training sessions for the betterment of Bardo, or extra shifts picked up to help someone out. Because everything that you do is for all mankind, it’s encouraged to help others. Because helping others is helping everyone, and that’s all they care about here.
As you step into the mess hall, your eyes instinctively search the room, looking for Gabriel. You do it every morning, being careful to be subtle, as you haven't seen him since they dragged you from your shared cell three months ago. You haven't seen him in the halls, and since you’re supposed to be indifferent about him, you can't ask around, leaving you to wonder if he’s okay, or even on Bardo at all. But just like every morning, Gabriel is not among the people dressed in white in the mess hall, leaving you to worry about him, as usual.
You hop in line and grab your meal, some sort of non descript something, designed for energy and efficiency, to meet all of your nutritional needs. It’s not very good, though you guess it isn't awful. It keeps you full until the next meal, and it’s edible, but it makes you long for the days of family meals on Skyring. It even makes you miss Hope’s jellyfish etouffee. Hope. Awaiting her Penance on Skyring, thanks to Echo. How the hell are you going to get her out of this one?
You shake your head, scrambling your thoughts, not wanting to fall down this rabbit hole right now, because you’ll never get out of it. Instead, you separate from Octavia, Echo, and Diyoza, all of you moving to sit at different tables with different people, appearing not to care about each other. You sit down with a group of level 2s, nodding in greeting before eating your nutrition bar and drinking your nutrition shake. You imagine that it’s something delicious, making it easier for you to get down, tricking your brain into thinking that you enjoy it, just like everything else in Bardo.
As soon as you finish, you stand and return your tray to the line, leaving it to be cleaned, turning just in time to stop yourself from running into Octavia. The two of you apologize, pretending to be strangers, and as you start to move apart, towards your respective assignments, an alarm blares out.
“Attention all available disciples: please report to Level 8. I repeat, please report to Level 8.”
You and Octavia exchange a look, the request odd, as it sounds urgent. You both immediately start following the wave of other disciples, pulling on your helmet as you go, trying to understand the wave of urgency moving through the crowd. The 8th level. You rack your brain to find the map of Bardo that you memorized years ago, mentally running through the levels until you reach the 8th one. The cryo labs. The Shepherd.
The man you spent the last few months learning about, whose teachings you had to memorize, resides on the 8th level. And he is only disturbed every few years to be updated on the progress of the Last War before he is returned back to cryo until the next update. But if all of you are being sent to the 8th level, then that means that either something is wrong, or the Shepherd is awake. And as all of you rise in the elevator to the 8th level, you think that maybe both guesses are true. There is a quiet nervousness rustling through the crowd, indicating that this is not something normal, and as the doors slide open to your destination, a sharp intake of breath moves though the disciples around you.
As everyone marches out of the elevator and into the hall, you see why.
Standing beside Anders is an older man, his hair and beard long, sandals on his feet, you know that only he could be the Shepherd. You only get a glimpse of him as you move by and fall into formation, but when you do, you realize that you recognize him. Something about his face is so damned familiar, though you don't know why. It bothers you as Anders tells all of you that there is a disturbance in the Stone Room, it bothers you as you move down the hall and guard the two men, and it bothers you as you arrive at the one way off of Bardo. And as you stand there, less than six feet behind the Shepherd, you realize that the man in question is Bill Fucking Cadogan.
Crazed cult leader that built the Second Dawn Bunker beneath the tower of Polis, the man that burned Becca Pramheda at the stake, the man that has been alive since the first Praimfaya, nearly hundreds of years ago, is now standing in front of you. So many questions are running through your mind, primarily ‘how the hell is this possible?’, until you remember Gabriel’s words to you when you first arrived on Bardo, listening to a speech given by Anders. There must be a stone on Earth.
Bill Cadogan found an Anomaly Stone on Earth and came to Bardo. Bill Cadogan took his cult to the next level by delivering them from Praimfaya, into the safety of Bardo. Bill Cadogan stays asleep in cryo for years at a time, waiting for an update on the Last War, so that he can lead Bardo into battle. And if Bill Cadogan is awake and standing in front of you right now, waiting for the doors to the Stone Room to open, that can only mean one thing.
The Key to the Last War is here.
Clarke is here.
As if on cue, the doors slide open. Anders and Bill peer inside, their eyes searching the scene. Clarke is there, along with Raven, Miller, Niylah, Jordan, and Gabriel, weapons pointed Bill’s way. And you have to ignore every cell in your body that is telling you to run to your twin and tell her everything. Because you have a part to play, one you’ve been carefully playing for months, a part that you can't mess up now. You feel someone beside you shift, their glove brushing yours, and you're sure it’s Octavia, her face likely smiling behind her helmet at the sight of Clarke, the same way yours is.
And though you want to run into the Stone Room with her and shut the door behind you, you watch as Bill lifts his hands in surrender, head turning towards the Bardoans trapped in the room. “I’m coming in alone, unarmed.”
Bill starts walking inside, and Raven yells from the back, “Who are you?”
“They call me the Shepherd, but you can call me Bill.” You see his arms drop, though your gaze is focused on Clarke. She is watching Bill closely, realization crossing her features as she remembers the pages of articles Jaha showed all of you years ago, before you knew about Bardo or Anomaly Stones. Bill focuses on Clarke now, directing his plea to her. “You have me. Now let my people go.”
Clarke shakes her head a little, getting a hold of herself, before turning and muttering. “It’s okay.”
All of the Bardoans quickly run from the room, moving out into the hall and away from the confrontation, leaving Gabriel behind with the others. And with a roll of anxiety, you watch the doors to the Stone Room slide closed again, cutting off your view of your twin sister, oblivious to her importance to Bill and his cause.
You stand staring at the door intently, willing it to open, your concentration disturbed by Anders’ low voice. “When that door opens, I want weapons on everyone. Clarke Griffin is not to be harmed, and the Shepherd must be protected. All other occupants can be disposed of.”
The words bring your anxiety crashing back. Though your twin will be safe, the others are not, and you're not sure you can watch them being shot down. Even if it means blowing your cover, you're sure you’ll fight to save them. You don't have to worry for long, because within minutes the door beeps, indicating that it’s being opened, and all of you lift your arms in one swift motion, activating your weapons. You train them into the room, your eyes landing instantly on Clarke, who is standing in the same place, a gun now held to Bill’s head. You smile a little, hoping that maybe all of you will get off this planet after all, when Bill commands, “Weapons down, all of you.”
Without hesitating, you all disengage and lower your arms in tandem, and Anders takes a few steps into the room. Bill turns to look at him, his voice lower. “Send in their friends.”
Without turning around, Anders motions towards the four of you. The crowd parts around you, and Octavia nudges you ahead, into motion. You lead them into the room, standing in front, Octavia and Diyoza standing in a line behind you. Echo stands in the rear, directly behind you, the four of you forming a diamond shape. And as you walk towards Clarke, you take a deep pull of air and calm your breathing, because you know what’s coming. You’re about to take off your helmet and look at your sister as if she’s a stranger, likely breaking her heart in the process. In doing so, it’ll break your own.
You will have to resist every fiber of your being that wants to reach out to her, reassure her, let her know that it’s all a joke, because now isn't the time. It isn't safe. Despite Clarke’s control over Bill right now, a group of disciples is right behind you, ready to attack in an instant, putting all of you at risk.
As you get closer, everyone is already looking at you in confusion, unsure of what’s going on. You come to a stop a few feet away from them, and Clarke shifts her and Bill closer. In tandem, the four of you reach up and tug off your helmets, moving them into your right arm before dropping your left arm by your side. You keep your jaw set, eyes and expression blank, removing any love or joy or excitement from them. Clarke stares at you in horror, her expression dropping, tears springing to her eyes. You have to glance away, sure that you'll break if you see her cry, your eyes casually raking over the others. They all look just as horrified, just as anxious as Clarke, staring at four people who were their friends and family less than a few days ago.
None of them realize that you have spent years separated from them, scattered between two planets, forced to break the bonds that united you and made you human. Now, to them, you are machines. Uncaring, unfeeling, blank machines.
And Clarke Griffin doesn't realize that her la lune is still inside of you, hidden behind this mask.
She doesn't realize that a small metal moon hangs around your ankle, hidden from the eyes of the people of Bardo, the charm brushing against a ring with a sapphire stone. She doesn't realize that the eyes that are blankly staring at her are hiding a storm of emotions that have cried countless tears for her. She doesn't realize that you have spent months, years, trying to figure out how to get back to her. That you have had to sacrifice and bear so much, and that you understand how heavy her leadership has weighed on her. She doesn't realize the loss you have experienced as you stand before her.
Because when you left her in Sanctum, you left her with Bellamy at your side.
And now, as you return to her on Bardo, you return alone.

Congrats on 100 followers!!! If it's no bother could I request head cannons for how protective the BL group is over their s/o? Thanks :))
[I’m assuming that these are just general jealousy level / worry-wart head-cannons? We’re not tapping into yandere on this blog lol. I’ll keep it simple, how ya like it :3]
Dimitri:
11/10
Boy worries
People out there want him dead = people out there want you dead too
Some might even try to take advantage of you due to his high status
Makes him hella clingy sometimes. Nightmares when you’re in ‘unfavorable’ circumstances aren’t rare
Even in his emo phase he’s still like this- just even more because the world is basically his enemy
Don’t let feral dima be around when soldiers talk smack to you. He will put them in their place without mercy
Doesn’t help that you’re basically the closest to family he’s got aside from Dedue
Dude you’re his future and he knows it. There is no one else who would stick with him through everything like you do
Even if there was, he wouldn’t want them. No one can ever replace you
He’s not so much concerned with someone else putting the moves on you
Okay, wait--hold that thought
He trusts you but goddess forbid someone makes you uncomfortable. He will use his authoritative presence to make them feel like a pebble next to a boulder
Totally glares at anyone with wandering eyes when you’re not looking. He’ll put one arm around your waist and nudge you away from them without hesitation
  Dedue:
3/10
He can’t stop people from making advances- he knows that
He also can’t take action on your behalf
Sure, he doesn’t like it when people make advances towards you. The whole point of being in a relationship is so people know that you are each other’s partner
Most of the time he just lets you deal with it. You can take care of yourself
His mood goes foul if people dare to do it in front of him. If people thought he looked intimidating before then d a m n
He’ll casually place a hand on your shoulder (which if you know him well is actually the most unusual thing) and ask if you need anything else before dismissing himself
Just a little expression of clarity that you’re with him, you know, chase the bugger off
Surprisingly not a worry-wart in any aspect aside from health
It’s easy for someone to neglect their health; mental and physical
Don’t be surprised if he encourages you to get check-ups ritually
If something’s an issue he expects you to come to him when you’re ready
Not pushy in the slightest
Felix:
8/10
Asserts d o m i n a n c e towards all threats
His attitude is one of the top three causes for any arguments. You know the snarky remarks are part of the Felix package, but would it kill him to have some restraint occasionally?
Despite his intelligence Felix tends to make quick assumptions. The guy has a bit of a superiority complex and doesn’t like when other people get cozy with his s/o
Pity the fool who challenges the Fraldarious
He views it as them not taking him seriously.
Also slightly afraid you’ll ditch his difficult ass
He can and will tell them off. Doesn’t matter the time or scene- if he feels someone’s being too buddy-buddy then he’ll make them to get lost
Hence the arguments. It can get bothersome when he acts out towards someone you’re friends with or if he causes a scene
He knows that it’s out of line and that you can make your own choices, but he can’t help it
Will apologize begrudgingly, but only to you. The other person can just live with it
You might be able to milk it and get an apology hug lol
In other aspects of life he’s the same way. If a politician tries to screw you over he’s right there watching from the sidelines, if you’re in battle then he’s constantly glancing at where you’re stationed, etc.
Ashe:
7/10
He’s your silent protector lol
Not because he’s ‘quiet’ but instead out of fear. He doesn't want to annoy you
Ashe has a lot of insecurities. No matter how many times you tell him otherwise he’ll always think you’re out of his league
If anyone flirts or makes suggestive comments towards you he’ll get upset
Like, really upset
extremely upset
He’ll watch from the sidelines as you diffuse the situation, lacing one hand with your own with a smile. Just you’re normal not-confrontational-at-all-Ashe. At least that’s what you see
On the inside it’s a raging storm of emotions going on. He’s so afraid that one day you’ll wake up and realize that he’s not good enough. That he’ll have to watch you walk away and return to an empty home again
Que nervous sweating
He becomes a doting mother if you’re ever ill or in danger. For weeks on end he’ll become you’re second shadow
If someone ever dares to hurt you while he’s nearby they’re getting an arrow in the back. No mercy. The fury borderline snaps the arrow between his fingers
Hates leaving you behind or being away. Not knowing if you’re safe, happy, healthy, etc. eats him up inside
Literally fragile glass. He can’t even tinker with the thought of you dying or he gets a stress-induced headache
Sylvain:
5/10
He’s so neutral towards everything that it’s honestly scary
The fellow Lions would even say ‘creepy’ for some occasions. It’s so far off from how he behaved towards his past partners and other friends
With his past and reputation people would think he’d at least get defensive when other people flirt with you
He knows what players are looking for since he was one. He’s been in their shoes
Yet??? He’s indifferent towards everything???
It takes a lot to get Sylvain worked up. His laid back way of approaching conflict tends to rub off on those around him and therefore helps in avoiding arguments
It would take either you expressing your discomfort or for the other party to attempt physical contact to make him hostile
Even then though he’ll simply push them back before leading you away. No harm no foul,  just in and out before things escalate
When it comes to big decisions or outbreaks he also follows a neutral approach. He waits for you to express your own wants before giving his opinions
You want to fight in the next battle? Cool, you’re registered. What battalion are you with? Well, looks like your going a different route than him. Are you sure that’s the one you want to follow? Yeah? Nothing he can do then aside from wish you luck.
Doesn’t mean he won’t be concerned at all though. I mean, it’s natural to be.
His mindset is that if he doesn’t worry then you won’t either. Anxiety is contagious and you don’t need extra stress in bad situations.
Annette:
7/10
She doesn’t w a n t to be like this, but sometimes it’s hard to hold back jealousy
Annette is one of those people that likes attention from the person she cares about. It makes her happy, so being ignored for someone else would really hurt
She’s nothing special in this regard. Like any person in a relationship she’ll have her moments, but for the most part everything is fine and dandy
The whole reason she’s above average is because of other reasons
She’ll nag you about safety precautions with logic from her studies. Being a goodie-two-shoes from a young age has her nerves spiking whenever you take needless risks
If she wasn’t reading up on faith magic before then she is now
The fear of being left behind is also something to chalk up on this list. If you’re gone longer than expected she’ll become antsy
The others can always tell when she’s worried. Annette isn’t very good at hiding that kind of aura from taking over
All in all, she’s not a very protective person. A better term would probably be “anxious”
Mercedes:
10/10
While she isn’t the staple of ‘overprotective,’ she is still exceedingly mindful of possible disasters
Are you really surprised? Mercedes cares about everyone no matter who they are.
She legit prays for the souls of her enemies. The woman is a saint in human skin
This also negates any jealous bone in her body. If she ever does feel uneasy it’s just a quick pang in the chest and then it’s gone
She doesn’t like to dwell on ‘what ifs’ because then she can’t live in the present- where people need her
She can seriously be a bit much other times though. If you even sneeze near her she’ll ask to take your temperature
Doesn’t matter where, who, when, etc. Mercedes takes care of everyone
Don’t ever deny her either. She can be pushy if the situation calls for it and sometimes it’s just easier to let her do what she wants
She’ll pray to the goddess for your safety before any battle, and send you off with extra healing potions for the times she won’t be near
During these times she’s extra vulnerable and is more open to showing her own personal strife to others. She tries to keep optimistic but nobody’s perfect. If it becomes too much she may seek to talk with a close friend (aka Annette)
However, her thoughts remain unclouded when others are in need. She suppresses her personal feelings until those in front of her are taken care of
Ingrid:
0/10
She isn’t worried
You know better than to wrong Ingrid
Enemies know better than to wrong you
Either happens and someone’s gonna die

I'm gonna need more about that out line
I’m assuming you’re talking about my Rey Djarin outline in which case, you have no idea what you’ve gotten yourself into. In think I posted the beginning of this a while back but I can’t find it so let’s start again!
(We’re pretending Din still has the Razor Crest and Grogu is like… between Jedi school semesters. We’re also ignoring TRoS entirely)
-
So Din and Grogu are on yet another desert planet. They come back to the ship and a tiny someone is trying to take it apart and his first thought is are there Jawas EVERYWHERE? But it’s not a Jawa, it’s 7-year-old Rey, trying to pry the satellite dish off. And, sigh, he can’t leave a little kid in the middle of nowhere.
She’s afraid of him, but seems to trust Grogu, so she lets them take her back to Niima outpost. But then they get there and he realizes she doesn’t have parents, and Plutt is awful, and now she’s trying to fight a mean teenager.
Between his actual conscience and the little green 🥺 emoji who acts like another he can’t leave her there, and that’s how he collects his second feral Jedi child.
Rey doesn’t really trust the unfamiliar metal man, but she does trust the little creature somehow communicating with her so it’s Grogu who persuades her to come with them.
Rey doesn’t speak, or even acknowledge Din, for a week and a half. She sleeps in the space between two crates where she thinks he can’t see her. When she’s awake she either hides or follows Grogu like a sneaky shadow, glaring suspiciously at Din.
He goes with it, this isn’t any weirder than anything else in his life. He leaves food and blankets where it’s easy for her to “steal,” goes about his usual business.
A week or so in, she sees him pull out his tools to fix something and she can’t stay away, hovering closer than she’s ever gotten to him and watching him work. The first thing she ever says to him is “what does that one do?”
After that, he finds something to tinker with every time he has time and eventually he gets himself a very shy assistant who wants to know what and why and how about all his tools. After a few weeks she chatters to him endlessly, plays chase with Grogu. She’s a little girl with a grownup she trusts for the first time in her life and Din adores her.
This is longer than I remembered so
Being human, Rey is simpler in a lot of ways to care for because there’s none of the mystery there was at first with Grogu. He knows what she can eat, what kind of meds she can take if she’s sick - and she speaks Basic. But he’s not ready for how fast she grows.
She’s curious and independent, and a fast learner. He teaches her to hunt, to fly and fix the Crest, use every weapon in his armory (though she still prefers her staff). She and Grogu are great friends and cause all sorts of trouble.
Even once she loves and trusts Din it takes her years to come out of her shell with others, and she’s not very good with people. Even after it becomes clear she’s force-sensitive Rey doesn’t go to Luke’s school. She learns to use the force a little herself and from Grogu. At 15 she begs to start hunting with him officially and he allows her to occasionally.
Rey fully considers Din her father by the time she’s 10, but she wonders about her biological parents, sometimes feeling bad that she didn’t wait for them. When she’s 17 she talks to Din and he agrees to help her find out what happened to them. They search between hunts but don’t find anything.
When she’s 19 Rey buys her own ship, a tiny one that can attach to the Crest when she wants to still travel with her dad and Grogu, or live in when she takes jobs on her own. Following a hunch she ends up on Jakku, and we get into the sequels.
She meets BB-8 like in TFA, and still attacks Finn because of the jacket. They still escape on the Falcon. Rey, having some infamy of her own as a bounty hunter by now, is recognized by Han and Chewie when they’re caught. She comms Din (“hi, dad… funny story…”), who directs them to Maz.
After seeing Hosnian Prime destroyed, and now in possession of Anakin’s lightsaber, Rey narrowly escapes capture by Kylo and the FO. She’s swept up in the Resistance, helps destroy Starkiller. The lightsaber’s visions have her shaken and afraid to call Din, even though he’s always taught her it doesn’t matter who her parents were.
When she does she doesn’t tell him where the base is, but it’s his job to find people and he’s good at it so he turns up a few days later
Din takes her to find Luke, trying to be there for her. Between one of the best bounty hunters in the galaxy and his two kinda-jedi children they don’t have much trouble “convincing” Luke to come back to the Resistance and start training with Rey and Finn
Din, Grogu and Rey remain closely connected to the Resistance, getting them out of a few tricky spots, and Rey becomes close with Finn, Poe and Rose.
Once the bond opens between she and Kylo, Rey starts to struggle even more with her identity and throws herself back into looking for her parents.
When Rey eventually discovers who her parents (and grandfather) were, Din is with her. She’s horrified, but her family is there for her. Din reminds her it doesn’t matter to him, or in the galaxy, who’s child she biologically is.
She’s his kid.
And then, you know, the Resistance defeats the First Order, Rey and Finn defeat Kylo and all that (Palpatine is NOT alive in this universe), but that’s not the point. Rey has a family who loves her, and her own identity, and you know she’s the best bounty hunter-Jedi the galaxy’s ever seen.

Changeling!Pabit AU
I said I was makin a post and I don’t care that nobody seems interested in him cause I love this little puppet boy and wont stop making aus for him.
Under a cut cause l o n g e
--
-Pabit only ever remembers Boris as his caretaker
-Not unusual for a changeling, really but it’s true
-Boris always says he just found Pabit on a walk. People usually take that as a joke, but he’s being serious.
-Ya see, Pabit wandered a bit too far from the fae as an infant, and Boris almost tripped over him on a walk in the woods.
-Boris picked up this strange little faerie baby, they made eye contact, and Pabits body shifted to resemble Boris.
-Well fuck I guess Boris has a kid now. The thought of calling the local orphanage doesn’t even cross his mind, it’s really just, “Ah fuck I found a kid.. Guess I’m a dad then”
-Really the fact that Pabit seemed to latch onto and form to look like Boris didn’t help with that train of thought.
-It didn’t take long at all for it to click in Boris’ head that Pabit wasn’t human. Obviously the whole shapeshifting thing, but this child was practically FERAL.
-In a non-babyproofed home, Pabit wreaked havoc. Being a master at hiding, scuttering Boris’ walls, and getting into everything, especially things that a baby shouldn’t be touching.
-It took ages for Boris to get the house at least somewhat Pabit-proofed.
-Pabit still manages to get into shit constantly, it’s like a talent.
-Just like Child!Au, Pabit is not Pabit’s actual name, it’s a name he gained later on because of how much he mimics Boris. (Whats his actual name? No idea)
-Pabit’s gender was literally assigned. He doesn’t have typical human anatomy, being completely androgynous, and thus Boris just... -stamps Pabit with “boy” sticker-
-By the time of the habitat, Pabit id’s as masc non-binary
-Boris considers the day he found Pabit as his birthday, not actually knowing how old he was when found, he counts up from that date, thus where Pabit being 15 comes from.
-Pabit is so tall both because he is fae, and because his body mimics Boris for its aging. So he’s just.. so fucking tall.
-Pabit has a shadow form, but didn’t seem to gain one until he first saw Boris do it when he was a toddler.
-For awhile he’d just randomly shift to it, until his subconscious realized it was primarity an anger-based “transformation”
-While Boris’ shadow form is just intense anger, Pabit’s becomes almost like a rage. As his body grows to adapt most of his non-human ability (strength and some subtle basic magic) into said form.
-Depending on the source of anger, Pabit can be incredibly destructive or eerily calm but a ticking bomb.
-Even Boris gets a bit scared when Pabit shifts to the form... One too many times he’s had his house demolished from this child- Or even being injured by the rage (Nothing serious, but more damage than an 8 y/o should be able to give a grown man)
-From a very young age Pabit always showed signs of adhd/autism. Though he doesn’t technically have these conditions because he’s fae, he’s found comfort in knowing he’s not just really weird, and if people ask about it, he and Boris will just say he has ADHD and/or is autistic*
*[Lil step back: This whole au exists because I heavily project my adhd onto Pabit. And my girlfriend, who is autistic, loves the changeling trope (We even call her one fairly often). So please don’t get hateful about this]
-Boris was always pretty open about Pabit not being human, never tried to hide it from him. He grew up as the outcast and couldn’t figure out why, he’s not gonna let his son feel that same lost and broken feeling.
-Pabit tends to speak in broken sentences. He can speak in full, but feels more comfortable doing more of a Hulk speech pattern. Thus he often talks in third person, and leaves out words he deems unneeded to understand the sentence.
-He’ll fall into proper speech when ranting or infodumping, though. Speaking much more like Boris, with proper and large words.
-He stutters over bigger words a lot, and sometimes gets frustrated and just uses “dumbed down” language in its place (this is how he’ll describe it)
-Pabit has a major hyperfixation of puppetry and puppet making, and a smaller one on musical theatre/acting.
-There is Pabit, and then an actual puppet Habit. It was a gift for fathers day, and though it’s not as pretty as the irl puppet, it’s still pretty damn good for a 15 y/o with claws. Boris keeps it on a shelf in his office, it’s Pabits favorite out of all the puppets he’s made.
-Pabit will nab it and, using Boris’ desk as a stage, will just talk to Boris as “Boris”.
-Boris finds this absolutely adorable, and goes along with it. He’s made several business deals with this puppet. Usually for teeth.
-Which yes, Pabit eats. (No Pabit au is complete if he doesn’t eat teeth, fight me.)
-Pabit stims. A lot. His most common stims are kicking, bouncing, or wiggling his legs, chewing (Yes teeth eating is a stim for him, but he mostly goes for more rubbery textures), hand flapping, and full body wiggling/bouncing. He’ll also play with his hair, but it’s not as common.
-Pabit will occasionally repeat things, usually funny things he hears while giggling.
-Pabit’s hair is so stupidly thicc and curly that no stylist in town will deal with it.
-Boris has learned to cut hair, which comes in handy more often than you’d expect in a house of two very long-haired people.
-aka: Pabits hair grows so fucking fast, its ridiculous.
-His hair sticks together so much that it almost acts like one solid pillow-like mass. No hairtie can contain it. (If it’s tied back, it’s usually an actual string litterally tied around his hair)
-Pabits ears can emote, they don’t move much, but it’s noticeable. They wiggle when he gets really heccin happy.
-Pabit’s pupils alwas seem to be slitted, but at general shock (among other various things) his iris’ will slit aswell, leaving Pabit with a line in some massive sclara’s.
-Pabit has gotten very good at sewing thanks to his love of puppet making. This becomes very useful since he usually has to tailor his clothes slightly.
-In the habitat proper, Pabit is surprisingly popular with all the kids. Most notably Tim Tam and Trevor.
-He knew Trevor (And of Nat) before the habitat. He and Trevor are classmates while Nat is in the class behind them.
-Trevor didn’t really acknowledge Pabit’s existence until he bit a bully and seemed to break skin effortlessly??? hmmmmmmmm.
-Thus Trevor started theorizing, nothing in depth, but the kid was on his radar.
-Trevor was really surprised to find Pabit in the habitat, and even more surprised when Pabit told him Boris is his dad.
-The most these two ever talked before the habitat was a single “peer review” assignment, but in the habitat they start talking a lot more cause they’re the oldest kids, know eachother a bit, and both need to infodump like crazy.
-It takes a while for Trevor to get used to Pabits broken speech, but he eventually finds himself mimicing it occasionally. and Pabit will mimic him as well (adhd solidarity, boys)
-Pabit and Tim Tam can communicate non-verbally with no trouble at all. Thus this is used to wreak so much havoc on habititians since they’re both feral little goblins.
-It doesn’t help that Pabit has special access to “employees only” areas since he’s Boris’ son.
-Trevor and Pabit have gone on massive theory rants about random musicals while Nat’s in the room and she just watches these two in confused awe because of all the little details they’ll pull out to support these wild theories.
-Nat seriously has no idea how these two can just. keep. going. It’s been three hours at least let her have a snack!
-Pabit has allowed Trevor to ask so many weird questions about him because Pabit is also very curious about what exactly he is.
-Boris isn’t going to question why Trevor was poking at Pabit’s ribcage with a pen and just let boys be boys.
-Nat supplies Trevor with books on mythical beings she steals from Trencils room.
-Even with the three of them mostly working together, they cant figure out exactly what Pabit is.
-Until they’re all going over it in the boiler room one day. Where Wallus can hear them.
-YES ONCE AGAIN WALLUS IS NOT HUMAN! AGAIN, FIGHT ME.
-Did three children just lure out the frightened janitor cause they’re describing changelings and Wallus, a fae, knows about these kinda things? Yes. Yes they did.
-Wallus really never got a good look at Pabit before he took refuge in the wall, Pabit never got too involved in his work, or his talks with Boris. So Wallus isn’t too surprised that he missed it.
-It takes a bit of courage building from Wallus and Pabit litterally dragging him to Boris’ office before Wallus talks to Boris about how he aquired Pabit.
-Lots of details short: Wallus actually remembers when Pabit went missing which is pretty neat.
-Boris was almost worried he’d lose Pabit to his birth parents... Until Wallus says they didn’t really worry too much cause he was supposed to be put into someones life anyway. Was only mildly concerning since the fae couldn’t keep an eye on him.
-Pabit barely processes any of this information. Same with nearly all fae information Wallus tells him.
-Its not that he doesn’t like it or anything, he just doesn’t really care about the details. He got a name for what he is and why he acts like he does, and now he’s done. Mission complete.
[I wanna type more but my adhd is being MEAN so I’ll stop here for now. Feel free to send me asks about this au tho cause I love it]
EDIT:
-One last thing: Pabit loves the night. He adores the moon. He loves sitting on the roof past bedtime just to stare at the sky

Why does Zzu make you sad.
Zuo makes me sad because like; let me see if I can explain this.
I guess I’ll explain it in acts.
Act 1:His mother Aiko left her Master because she didn’t want to go through being with a pet and she definitely didn’t want her only son to have to be subjected to it as well so she took Zuo and she ran away. She had no money or anything to her name, so she and Zuo lived on the streets. And that in and of itself can be so hard. Aiko is stronger than I would ever say because I don’t have much content for her either; her life was hard too but she still raised Zuo. She didn’t abandon him. When Zuo got old enough to start going out on his own to play with other kids, it was when she saw that Zuo was a little stronger than what would be normal and she told him that he needed to be careful with other kids to not hurt them and he did. Then-- he got kidnapped when he was about 12.
Act 2:He didn’t have much time to adjust to anything, he was taken and after a few days he was thrown into a pit to fight. Zuo was like, 12 or 13 when he started fighting for his life. He didn’t have much of a choice and he learned quickly that he had to do what he can to survive. He got clever, but resorted to giving into his rage to survive making it hard for him to convey his other emotions. His default emotion is to get angry, at least as he was growing up because that’s what he thought he had to do to survive.
Act 3:Zuo’s 17 at this point, he’s still fighting to survive but he’s strong enough that he doesn’t need to resort to being clever but occasionally he does depending on his opponent. He had been fighting to “rank up” as to say, he was aiming to become champion. Zuo had to battle and kill a lot of his kohais and at one point he even had to kill his senpai. He regrets it a lot, but he didn’t have much of a choice.
Act 4: 19 now, and if Zuo had a title, his title would be ‘Champion’. He had a lot of free reign and sooner or later devised a plan with the other fighters to break out. So, he caused a riot and escaped. I can’t say what happened to the other fighters, but a majority of them did escape with Zuo. (This would be the first riot he initiates, and not his last) So, now Zuo is free and he makes his way back to the city, but the problem is it’s not that he’s angry it’s that he’s very...VERY defensive. He only appears angry when he lashes out, but really he’s scared? He doesn’t want to die anytime soon and in a new environment he has to be careful. I think at this point too, Aiko finds him and she cries because Zuo doesn’t exactly recognize her but he knows that he knows her.Note: At this point Iza is also almost out of his situation, he’s in the process of making contacts and small networks.
Act 5:Zuo’s 20 now and he’s still in the process of getting adjusted to his surroundings and learning not to “Kill first, ask questions later” It’s when he also learns that his kin are treated as less than human and it rightfully makes him angry when he was trying to buy something from a store. He didn’t know that there were specific stores for his kin so he got pissed off and decided to change how people saw him because he knew they were more than what they appeared. Zuo started speaking to informants and gangs(that he would later fight) to get some sort of information and he became a vigilante for the informants by assisting them in exchange for information. It took a couple of months(at least 8) before he sought out a trafficker at a strip club because he was given an anonymous tip that they would be there, so he went and that’s when he met Iza, disguised as a woman. Note: Iza at this point is 19 and got his act together and became a more reliable source of information and he knew about Zuo before Zuo knew about him. He figured that this was a type of meeting that needed to be memorable.
Act 6:I don’t ever specify how Iza and Zuo got together, but they did. They were about 23/24 when they got together. In their short two years together, they made several colonies. They gathered the stray nekos and united them to form a community and help each other. But eventually, Iza and Zuo had a falling out and Iza left the communities, which Zuo became the unofficial leader of. Iza resorted to assisting the feral stray cats and used them to help him gather more information. It was not uncommon for Zuo and Iza to outright fight each other or to spend time together. It’s later revealed that they still love each other.
Act 7:(Around when they are both 29/30) One way or another, things starts moving in a way that Iza wants it too and he becomes a leader as his perspective grew and was changed to where he wants to do things peacefully. Zuo is still doing vigilante things, assisting and helping people of all types as long as it was something good. If it was something he deemed evil he would invoke his own sense of justice and punish the person according to his own laws.
Act 8:(34/35) Iza and Zuo come back together. Iza changed his way, and Zuo had calmed down and together they both were seemingly unstoppable together. There is a build up to the grand finale
Act 9:(35/36) Iza dies, practically in Zuo’s arms. Zuo “snaps”, losing a sense of control because he couldn’t save the one person that mattered most to him. The smell of iron made something click in Zuo and he realized that a long time ago, Iza’s words had some truth behind it. So, he lashed out and used the crowed to start a riot to almost throw themselves and humans into a sort of war.
Act 10: The beginning of tempestuous. Zuo feels lost without his second half. He avoided the funeral. Avoided the guilt. Avoided the feeling of helplessness he felt through various means. He does go see Iza(His grave at least) and tries to apologize even if he knows he can’t apologize to Iza directly. He vows to make things right.
And yeah that’s all I got. I didn’t even really explain how it made me feel but? C’mon, his story lmfao. It could be argued that Zuo was treated WORSE than Iza because at least for Iza, he didn’t have to constantly battle and fight to survive even if he was chained to a bed and used for other things and was put in that life since he was born but, Zuo...Zuo didn’t deserve to get kidnapped when he was just playing with other kids to be throw into life and death constantly only to grow up thinking the whole world is an enemy :sob:
Equally, they both make me very sad. I love them both.

The Wonderful Winston - Part 3, Candy Gram
Content Warning: Slurs
Read Part 1 here
Read Part 2 here
Tumblr media
Harris Nguyen is very tired. The bags under his eyes seem to pull his entire face down with them. He has messy, patchy facial hair that just screams “yes, I am indeed a boy turning into a man.” He stands in the gas stop quick-mart candy aisle. He reaches for the Peanut M&Ms, but stops when he hears a noise. He turns and sees a woman pushing a stroller. He looks back at the candy. Peanut M&Ms. He quickly snatches them and stuffs the bag quietly into his hoodie pocket. He then swipes a pack of Twizzlers, slipping them into his jeans. Harris finally takes a package of two Twinkies and puts those in his hoodie pocket, carefully placing them next to the Peanut M&Ms and clasping his hands together in the pocket so to make the act more believable, and stop the plastic rustling noises. He then takes a bag of Hot Cheetos to the counter.
“Two fifty-eight.” The clerk never even bothers looking up at Harris. It’s 2 a.m., after all. Everyone’s just about dead inside. Harris hands over three dollar bills.
“Keep it.” He quickly walks out, and successfully gets past the automatic door. Success. Harris has pulled off yet another Ocean’s Eleven-style heist with efficiency and believability. He’d personally rate this an 8/10.
Harris promised Mr. Winston he would stop stealing. He promised he’d stop doing most of the things he usually does, actually, but stealing was a big one. And Harris wanted to keep the promise, really and truly, but committing was harder than he could have ever expected. It was just so easy, and what, was the gas station going to fold because some kid took six bucks worth of junk food?
Although he did make the promise.
Five months ago, Harris broke Tommy Bautista’s jaw. When Tommy ran to the office and Harris realized he was in deep shit, he went straight to Mr. Winston’s classroom. He didn’t really know why. Maybe it was because Mr. Winston was one of maybe two teachers in his lifetime who didn’t actively hate him.
“You gotta help me out, Mr. Winston.”
“What’s wrong, Harris? You got questions about the test?”
Harris looked at Mr. Winston like he just asked if dogs could fly.
“What? No. I just punched Tommy and it looks like he’s real hurt. I think I really screwed up.”
Mr. Winston closed his laptop.
“Why did you punch him?”
“He called me a faggot! Multiple times!”
“Was there a reason you went straight to violence?”
“Uh, yeah, he called me a faggot. Like, five times.”
“Okay. Here’s what you do. You apologize. Even if you don’t think you have to, do it anyway.”
“Why? I’m not a faggot.”
“Stop saying that. Let me finish. Call me in. I’ll tell them about your improvement in my class, and how I think your behavior is improving as well. And promise them it won’t happen again. Seem sincere and, even better, be sincere. I think they’d take that.”
“Tommy doesn’t have to do shit? That’s fucked, man.”
“Listen. Tommy’s an asshole, but he doesn’t give the teachers and staff trouble. You’re on thin ice, kid. And Tommy can be an asshole before he’s hit with real-world shit that’ll leave him crying, but you still have a chance. I really think you do. But not if you get expelled.”
“Whoa. Are you allowed to say that about students?” “Are you allowed to punch a guy?”
Harris sat down.
“Do what I tell you. I can get you out of this. But only if you promise to give a damn, if not in any other class, at least mine. Okay?”
“Alright. Fine.”
“Good.”
Mr. Winston extended his hand. Harris reluctantly shook it. And lo and behold, Mr. Winston was right. Harris only took a week’s worth of lunch detention, and in return he started showing up to class. It was hard at first; Harris would barely stay awake long enough to catch what Mr. Winston’s opening line of his Great Gatsby lecture was. His eyes would wander to the girls in class, and he could only glimpse the notes on the board when he was switching views from Andi to Jennifer. But Mr. Winston wouldn’t stop trying. It really was like one of those teacher-student prestige Oscar-bait movies, but with way more dick jokes flung around. Harris came into Mr. Winston’s classroom during empty hours, considering he didn’t really have anywhere else to be, and no one else to hang out with. Every day, something new would come up.
“Man, Daisy’s a real bitch, huh?”
Mr. Winston would chuckle. “I’m not so sure about that. I mean, consider Tom’s behavior, and how that might affect how she acts. Maybe she’s just as pained as Gatsby is, and we just don’t see it as much.”
“Yeah. Or maybe she’s a bitch.”
After a few weeks, things did start getting better. Harris’s grade went from an F to a C-. Mr. Winston got to improve a student. And they both made a new friend.
Yep. Real Oscar-bait, prestige film bullshit.
Later on, Harris had an idea. Kissler Oaks High, for some reason, did not have a book club. So with a newfound inclination to read rather than beat up kids on the reg, Harris started one. Mr. Winston would be advisor. They met every Thursday at lunch, and the club had six core members: Kelly, Lopez, Omar, Sheila, Gretchen, and Toby. It was a tight-knit group, a collection of black sheep kids who didn’t seem to belong anywhere else. The type of kids who were actively willing to discuss a novel for their precious lunch hour. This was insane. Harris had actually started a club, a club for nerds, and he enjoyed it. He truly had become what he once hated.
Harris sits on the curb. He takes out his peanut M&Ms and tears into them like some feral animal digging into his prey. He chooses out a green one, and pops it. He rolls it around in his mouth, lets the candy coating melt, and chews the soft chocolate. If everyone knew this is how Harris ate sweets, he’d probably get endless shit over it.
He looks up at the stars. They’re sparse, but at least he can still spot some, even discounting the satellites and occasional helicopter. He swears that he was able to see more of them when he was younger.
His phone rings. COME ON AND SLAM, AND WELCOME TO THE JAM! He looks at the caller ID. It’s Kelly. He picks up.
“Harris?”
“Hey Kelly, what’s up.”
“What are you doing right now?”
“...Nothing much.”
“You know how Mr. Winston didn’t show up to class for like two weeks?”
“Yeah.”
“Do you know why?” “Thought he was sick or something.” “Dude, I think he’s gone missing.”
Harris chuckles. “Sure.”
“I’m serious.” “Why do you say that?” “Considering people are saying that he’s gone missing. Check the news.” Harris tries to check on his phone, but it won’t load.
“Hold on, I’m out of data.” Harris walks over to the newsstand, and picks up a paper. He flips through it and
gets to the missing persons section. In a sea of lost kids and elderly folk, sure enough, Mr. Winston’s profile is splotched on the page. He has a beaming smile and wears a cardigan.
“Holy shit,” Harris says. He closes and opens the newspaper as if the image is a hallucination that would go away.
“Why hasn’t the school said anything about this?” His voice gets more strained.
“They’re late to everything. And I assume they’re waiting on more details.”
“Details? What details? This is happening because there aren’t any details!” He slaps the paper back in its plastic container.
“Yeah, I don’t know man.”
“What are we gonna do?”
“Don’t think we can do anything. The cops are already on it.”
“Sure, like the cops have a healthy thirty-something dude on the top of their priority list. They probably assume he’s gone hitchhiking or something.”
“I don’t know about that. But besides, we’re kids, Harris. We’ll just have to wait, I guess.”
“This is horseshit.”
“I know. Seeya in class.”
Monday. Literature class. For the sixth day in a row, the students have had to suffer under the boot of the teaching style of a lame-ass, slow-talking, nasal-voiced substitute teacher. Harris can’t even remember the man’s name. When he takes roll, it’s like the scene from Ferris Bueller, except far less funny and far more tragic.
“Mark Allen?”
“Here.”
“Jacy… Is it Jacy? How do you say that?”
“Jacy.”
“Jacy. Thank you. Jacy Anderson?”
“Here.”
“Luis. Sorry, how do you pronounce that? Soft or hard ‘S’?”
Thursday. Lunch period. It’s been three more days without Mr. Winston, and now the club is just seven kids gathered around an awkward circle.
“So, uh, how’s it going. What did you all think about-” Harris looks at the cover. “Slaugher-House Five?”
Sure, Harris was the club president, but he wasn’t exactly a great conversation leader.
“I don’t know. I thought there was too much cursing,” Sheila starts.
“Shut the fuck up, Sheila. Why are you always bitching about the dumbest shit?” Lopez bites back.
“Guys, calm down. Even though Sheila’s being an idiot right now, that doesn’t mean you can all have a free-for-all Hell in a Cell action bloc,” says Omar.
Harris zones out. He whispers to Kelly: “You’re in charge.” He walks to the principal’s office and knocks on the secretary’s desk.
“Is Mr. Gonzalez in?” Harris asks.
“Yes, what do you need?”
“To see him.”
“Let me just call in-”
Before he can finish, Harris storms straight to Principal Gonzalez’s office. At this point, he knows far too well how to get there.
The secretary gets up.
“Hey, I need to call in-”
Harris opens the door and sees Gonzalez eating a salad. He sighs, and pushes his lunch aside.
“Why didn’t John call you in?”
“Where’s Mr. Winston?”
“He’s out.”
“Oh really? Cause last time I checked… anywhere that wasn’t you guys, he’s actually missing. For real, missing.”
Gonzalez sighs. “Close the door.” Harris closes the door and sits down.
Gonzalez clasps his fingers together and places his hands on his desk.
“Harris. We don’t want to cause more panic than necessary.”
“A teacher’s missing!”
“Yes, but telling everyone won’t be productive. The police are doing their best, and we don’t know the extent of the situation.”
“The extent of the situation is Mr. Winston could be in deep trouble!” “And there’s nothing we can do about it, Mr. Nguyen. It does nothing to ease the problem and I’m afraid announcing it will only make things far worse. If you’re so inclined, though, there is something I believe you can do.”
“What’s that.”
“There’s a hotline where you can call in and give any information you can. I’m sure you have something you can give. Here’s the number.”
Gonzalez scribbles down a phone number and hands it to Harris.
“Alright. Thanks.”
Harris leaves and Gonzalez digs into his salad.
