Thinking about how Sparrow has a found family outside of their hero friends.

The Bower Lake camp is their family. When you start the game if you loiter you can hear people wish you a happy birthday, they immediately believe in you while people outside of it couldn't care less about you. The people captured by Thag know you, if you take too long to let them out the woman goes "You wouldn't do this to us, would you Sparrow?"

Sparrow isn't alone, they're angry and hurt over Rose, but they are loved, and the people of the camp see them as one of their own.

Like yes, Hammer Garth and Reaver understand them on a level the dwellers can't. They understand Sparrows hurt and trauma, Hammer and Sparrow see the most important person die in front of them, Garth and Sprrow experience the spire, and Reaver connects to those darker parts of them.

But at the same time the dwellers understand a part of them those three can't. They raised them, they saw them through the injuries Lucien left, and tried their hardest to fill as much of the hole left behind from Roses death. They're part of why Sparrow maintains the ability to be positive, and funny because that is far from Theresas list of things Sparrow needs to be. Sparrow dances and plays the lute, and you can't convince me that they would be doing those things without the positive influence of the camps inhabitants.

In Sparrow Theresa saw the key to getting the Spire, Lucien saw a road block, but the dwellers saw a child, and fully embraced and loved them. Gave them as much as the possibly could, and kept a home open for them always should they wish to use it.

Okay WHAT THE HECK??? The storyboards from the wasteland episode are SO GOOD AND INTERESTING!! Like what- HOW IS THERE SO MUCH CONTENT HIDDEN??? WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT IT???

There’s like a whole change to the chasing scene that I’m wondering if they had to take out because of run time? Like high key it was really cool looking! It really makes me wish even more that season 2 was longer bc the team was so good at making the chase scenes with the flecks both scary but entertaining and they had so many creative ideas!!

Also I just think it’s really cool that from the way Lake reacts so quickly you can really feel how second nature running, hiding and in general escaping is to Lake at this point. After being chased for so long so many times. Also in what was taken out I feel like it takes the flecks a bit more effort to catch up to Lake which I really enjoy and I think makes me stay at the edge of my seat!

There’s also really funny dialogue that was taken out like pleaseeeevjsbsLAKE WAS GONNA CALL THE APEX PSYCHOPATHS AHDNSN

Everything about “this road” by Poe, the song at the end of each Alan chapter in Alan Wake 2, makes me go absolutely wild. The way it changes every time to fit what Alan is going through and Alice’s own perspective on his destruction over these years. The last time it appears is an entire 9 minute long segment that slowly distorts until it becomes clear “it’s a spiral.” The whispers of “I’ll find you…”

Even the sequence of events that created this song is unbelievable. Like what do you mean this is one of the first new songs by Poe in almost 2 decades? That Poe and Sam Lake worked on and recorded it in the same place that House of Leaves was edited?? House of Leaves, the book that was one of the major inspirations for Control and Alan Wake, and is written by the brother of Poe??? The looping of it all,,,,

Human aus where Lake and Tulip have complicated relationships are so, so important to me.

However there's something about aus where Lake or Tulip literally hate each other that rubs me wrong. Like yes! It is complex! And they frustrate each other! And they can never agree and they antagonize each other!

But they should never be able to give a straight answer about how they feel.

Yes, they've always been compared to Tulip. Yes they've lived their whole life in her shadow. Yes it's always and Lake. But canon Lake knows everything about Tulip! They have such an intimate knowledge of her- and the scene where they talk about her in the family tree car? There's no malice there. It isn't Tulip's fault that Lake can't be themselves around her.

And Tulip has never known Lake's struggle. Has an immense guilt for something she had no control over. She can't fix it, undo what has already happened. She's done all she can to correct the bridge between them, even if it's still smoldering embers beneath their feet.

She so genuinely wants the best for Lake and has no idea what that could possibly be. She doesn't understand them, and she doesn't pretend to. Like a real sibling she just hopes they're okay. Wherever they are. Whoever they are.

I love found family, but these two are just family. They didn't actually choose each other, but there's some piece of them that will always know the other. That will never forget, even if they don't end up reaching out. If they never speak again.

I'm going to yank what little hair I have out at how sibling coded they are.
